I submitted a request for service.  Barney called we discussed the service I needed and he asked if I was going be home tomorrow (today)  once we confirmed I would be home  he said would call me an hour before he headed my way.  It's now 8 pm no call no show.  When I tried calling around 4 to see if he was running late there was no answer. He could've just informed me he couldn't come out today instead of making me waste an entire day waiting.

I emailed Barney's for a quote one night. He got back to me the next day. I wasn't able to answer and he made a follow up call a couple days later.
We chatted about what I was looking to do. Unfortunately, what I want to do isn't possible, so he won't be coming out for this job, but I'll definitely give him a call for future needs. I really appreciate that he didn't waste either of our time.

Barney answer the phone when I called. They were responsive but patient and waited until I was all set to do the job. When I called back Barney was ready to get us scheduled and we had our job completed within a couple days of our return call. I would use Barney's again in the future if I needed any electrical work done.

Barney and Steve are awesome! I called to get an estimate for my as is property and he responded quickly and got to work on the job early. I had a few extra issues that needed to be taken care of and he gave me a good price to fix them. I definitely recommend Barney and Steve to get your electrical work done!

My husband and I had been talking about having our ceiling fans (x6) replaced and having someone come replace a couple of sockets. We found Barney's on Angie's list, and I sent a request through their website on Wednesday around 11am. They called us around 2 pm, and offered to come the next day (yesterday) at 11:00am.

They contacted us at 9:00am, and were done with a job early, and asked if they could come sooner than 11:00am. They showed up quickly, were very friendly, listened to my concerns, and immediately went to work. Not only did they do the job that they had promised, but they went above and beyond to ensure that things were done the right way. We moved into our house two years ago, and all of the fans were original to the house, and had not been installed properly (no fan boxes). Both guys crawled into our exceptionally small, very hot attic to install all new boxes so that they could ensure none of the fans would unexpectedly fall from the ceiling.

They worked efficiently, were friendly, and did a fantastic job. They even swept the rooms when they were finished. The price was very reasonable, and the owner (Barney) stopped by during installation to make sure the work being done was up to standard (it definitely was).

This company is honest, respects its clients time, and provides exemplary work. I'll continue to use them in the future for any electrical needs.

Disappointed! Recommend on Nextdoor and not impressed. We had 2 outdoor ceilings fans replaced on the patio, we already had the fans. So we paid to have them installed. They were brand new, they took them out of the box. We were charged $400. Which I thought was extremely high. All of the wiring was already done. After they left, we noticed one of the fans was rocking and making a loud noise. We contacted them to have this issue resolved. We were told by the owner that they would be back out the next week. No one called or ever came by. So we contacted them again the following week and spoke with the owner again. He apologized for forgetting and asked us to fill out another service call. We finally got a call back the next day and his assistant came out. (He was one of the original guys that came out the first time) Without looking at the fan, he told me to take the fan back to the manufacturer and didn't even offer to take it back down. At this point, I'm very irritated. I reminded him he was the one that installed the fan initially and he had some issues obviously installing it the first time because he was beating on the top of it. I told him there was nothing wrong with the fan, that it was brand new and to please look at it, instead of just assuming it was a manufacture defect. He finally with hesitation got up on his ladder and looked at it. He had obviously left a couple of screws loose and he tightened them. Problem Solved . There was no issue with the fan it was human error, Which I could totally forgive ,  if he wasn't so quick to dismiss it. I know we will not use them nor recommend them, simply because of the attitude and excuses received.

I would definitely recommend Barney for any electrical problems you may have. He installed three light fixtures in my home last week. He and his assistant showed up on time, worked quickly and cleaned everything up. Great guy. I am planning to use him to install under the cabinet lights in my kitchen next.

I made an appointment for this morning at 8am for an estimate. At 8:30am I called Barney to see if he was still coming. Apparently he was at my house at 740am and rang the doorbell and no one answered so he left. I don't think he had the right house bc I have been awake all morning and my two dogs certainly would have heard someone at the door. Im not sure why he didn't call me or show up at 8am like we agreed upon.

When my house was struck by lightning Barney came out within 30 minutes of calling him. He checked everything to make sure it was safe and see what worked and what needed repair. He is friendly and knowledgeable. I have used him twice now and will continue to use him for any electrical needs.

We had a problem, but were not sure if the problem was our dryer or the outlet.  Barney came out and determined the problem was with our dryer.  Since it was not an electrical issue and required no work from him, he did not charge us at all!  It's so good to find an honest repairman and we will definitely call Barney back.  In addition, he was timely and personable.  Thank you Barney!

Barney & his technician showed up about 10 minutes early and knocked the jobs out quickly! Both were very nice and easy to talk to, and his technician even offered to help carry a few things out to my car as I was moving them. I would definitely recommend Barney and his team for your electrician needs!

Barney is a smart guy. I called him and he knew just over the phone my problems were on the Oncor side..... and yes they were. The transformer on the pole had gone bad. He called me back 3 times to make sure I was ok up until 7 pm. That's the real deal. I always support local

I had a problem with the meter box pulling away from the side of the house. Instead of charging me a fee, they told me that the electric company will do these repairs. Very honest and will use Barney's Electric for any future electrical issues.

Barney's Electric is the best. It was so easy to schedule an appt. and they even called to come 30 min earlier which was a plus. They explained everything and even gave us rationale for all the work that was completed. You couldn't have asked for better service. I loved the fact that you can pay by using PayPal. The owner even came out and gave us a quote for our next scheduled service. They will be our 1st choice anytime we use an electrician in the future.

Barney was great -- punctual (even early!), efficient (has an hourly charge and he gets everything you need done for you in the first hour if possible), and skilled! He is very good at what he does, and I'm not surprised after I found out he has traveled around the world as an electrical repair technician for a large machinery company. In addition, he provides exceptional customer service -- a few days after his service call to my home, I had problems with the installation of a smoke alarm, called him up, and he made the time to come back and fix it for me without charging me a dime extra! I am so grateful to him for being so accommodating!

Last, and noteworthy, is his competitive pricing! Though I like to support small businesses, because I am on a tight budget, I called some other service providers to  check on their prices. I found out that electricians, understandably, are not cheap! But Barney was at least 5% cheaper than a larger competitor.

I definitely recommend Barney's Electric services to the Rockwall community! He's also a pretty cool guy, try to catch a glimpse of his belt when you call him to your home -- i didn't get the chance to ask him, but I'm sure there's an interesting story behind it! :)

Barney is a nice guy.  He is good at what he does for sure. I think what impressed me most was his focus on the customer.  He called me back if I left a message very quickly. He showed up when he said he would. He did what he said he would do, and he charged me what he said he would charge me.  My electrical issues were not simple, but he wasn't hesitant to take the job and work through the issues very quickly.  To Mr. 1star below, that's funny!  I think I might've kept it to myself personally.  Travel, labor, and liability have a price tag.

Barney was great!! Had a issue on a weekend (Saturday) and needed someone to come out before we left town on vacation. Realizing the time crunch I went to our Nextdoor page and found Barney's electric came highly recommended on Nextdoor so I gave them a call. Even though he was closed Barney still answered the phone on a Saturday. Barney attempted to walk me through resolving the issue over the phone. Unfortunately, I  was not able to be resolved the issue on the phone*. On Monday morning he showed up and located and fixed the issue quickly. *(It was a bad breaker and wiring so I commend him for trying to help me out over the phone, but I wasn't going to be able to fix it myself anyway)

We've used Barney twice now, and couldn't be happier.  He called back with our quotes quickly, which were less than the larger competitors, and arrived right on time.  He works quickly, efficiently, and gets the job done right.  We'll have him back again to replace our landscape lighting.  I highly recommend him to anyone.

My experience with Barney's Electric was by far the worst experience I have had with a service company.  I called early in the morning to make an appointment and was told by Barney he could not make it that day but he could be there in the morning.  To go to his site and request the appointment leaving my name, number and address, which I did.  He did not show up as he said he would so I called and he said oh you wanted me today, can't make it but he could have someone there the next morning.  The next morning they showed up 20 minutes late and 2 technicians and a student intern came in.  This was the beginning of the disaster.  We discussed what I thought I needed and wanted to do with my kitchen remodel, adding of under counter lights, moving can lights, etc.  What I did not know was that they start the clock ticking at $200.00 an hour from the time they were supposed to be here until they leave, even if they are not physically working.  They had the intern remove the can lights so he would have something to do and figured it would be work they would be doing later.  The total charge was outrageous, I was left with empty holes in my ceiling, light bulbs just hanging in others (as he removed the eyeballs, two band new switches removed from the wall and thrown in the trash, two holes cut in my dining room wall and two in the kitchen.  Very little work done, lot of talking, petting the dog and telling me what lights to buy.  I was so upset when they left I called and asked to speak to Barney.  Barney came out a couple of days later... with one of the technicians who had been there the first day.  When I asked him how he could rationalize what I was charged vs the work that was done, he asked who my contractor was (there was none for the electric changes and he said had he known that he would have walked away from doing any of the work... and that all I needed to do was read his reviews, they said how good he was.  He was condescending, rude, and disrespectful. Then he said see I am here and I am not charging you.  He said I will give you a quote for the work you need done, which he did a couple of days later which was outrageous.  Due to his outlandish expense and his talking down I would never consider doing business with Barney's Electric, and he made it clear while he was here that he did not want my business  They need to be clearer that they are going to charge even while trying to determine what needs to be done, and in my case they overcharged for time they were not there and time they were not working.  Lesson learned.

You could not ask for a company with better customer service and expertise.  Jason and Barney have done numerous projects at our house. They've changed indoor and outdoor light fixtures and ceiling fans, added outlets for security cameras, fixed faulty light switches, and added GFI outlets to our kitchen.  I continually use Barney's Electric because of the prompt response and fair prices but I love Barney's Electric because they leave the areas that they worked in cleaner than when they arrived, refresh my dog's water bowl if they have worked near it, have helped me troubleshoot issues over the phone, and most recently Jason saved me a ton of money by alerting me to a HVAC issue he noticed while in our attic.

Just hired Barney's to repair a doorbell and look at a motion light for me, small projects but awesome work- I did not feel at all like I was an afterthought or less of a customer because of the size of the projects.  Jason was on time, professional, took care of both items, did not try to up-sell me on anything but did offer his professional opinion on a few products on the market after I asked him about... very knowledgeable. Everyone needs a guy ...  this is my electric guy from now on.

We've used Barney's for other electrical work, and as before, they did a great job.  Barney and Jason arrived when they said they would, completed the work promptly and professionally.  They were meticulous and exacting about the work they performed.  Really nice guys, too.

Wow. I had an issue with a light in stairwell and he arrived as promised. How was I to know it was a light bulb?? that I replaced NEW from the pack. He charged $100. I will never use him again. The beauty of this overcharged trip, it is a round world and I believe in karma!!!

Being new to Texas and Rockwall, we did not know anyone to even recommend contractors for work needed on the home we bought.  We met Barney at a town function and liked his demeanor and personality.  When we decided to have some upgrades made to the electric systems in the house, we called Barney's Electric to discuss some of our ideas for outdoor lighting as well as some standard maintenance and repairs.  The outdoor lighting was being added to the existing electric wiring system and was not an easy task.  While we had some ideas on how to do what we wanted, Barney stepped up and designed the new upgrade system including the most awesome outdoor lights we have ever seen.  Barney and Brian were spectacular in their work ethic and ability.  I have been around the construction industry my whole life and can easily spot someone who knows what they are doing by how easy they make a hard job  look.  Barney and Brian were absolutely at ease with what they were doing and worked in conjunction with one another with no drama or stress.  Brian made it clear that he was willing to risk life and limb by making his way through some very tight places in the attic to run the wiring for the outdoor lights.  Thanks buddy.  I really do appreciate that journey.
At our request, one of the outdoor lights needed to be installed on the gable end of the house in a manner that would not affect the next door neighbor.  Barney's expertise in design and Brian's in the installation exactly provided what I had asked for and provided unbelievable results for out lighting needs.  Our expectations on every level were exceeded and we would recommend Barney's Electric for any electrical renovation or maintenance that requires experience, knowledge and honesty.

Barney and his technician showed up at our home to replace our breaker box on time (actually 15 minutes early) and 4 hours later, had the task completed with the power back on.  The inspector just left and all went well.  As you may know, replacing a main box in a home calls for experienced electricians and it can be expensive.  I'm pretty confident Barney gave us a fair price and he (and his technician) did a very professional job. Of course, he wanted me to be sure I wrote a review.....and I'm happy to have done so.  Hope you've found it useful!

We had Barney's Electrical install electrical to our island, a new outlet in our bathroom and install motion lights outside. They were professional and very accurate with their work! They were on time and did a job well done. I highly recommend Barney's Electrical!

Fantastic service!  Breaker went bad so I called Barney... 30 minutes later he was already there and replaced it.  Doesn't get any better than that!  5 stars!!!!!

i hired barney to check out the status of my overall electrical system at a business i own.  he and his men arrived early and were working when i arrived.  when i met the man i knew i liked him.  he's just one of those kinds of people.  more than that, i had a feeling i had made the right choice.  i'm normally pretty critical of service providers because i've had more than my shard of sharks.  let me tell you, he is not one of those kinds.  the way he and his 2 helpers discussed things i could tell there was a mutual trust and open open to opinions from and to his employees.  he was down to earth had a positive attitude as well as a harmless joking manner.  
he and his men took at look at my breaker boxes and critiqued the way it was set up.  there was 1 or 2 minor concerns that were taken care of on the spot.  then they went into the attic on this hot august morning.  they found minor problems there, but overall things looked pretty good.
barney will be the first person i call when i need any electrical work done at either my home or business.
