Update - Service Mgr reached out and was able to slightly adjust total labor repair price - but still $$ pretty hefty for 2 year old unit.

On location service was great - technician friendly and helpful 100% of time.  

Moral of story: choose the brand of hvac carefully and consider buying the extended labor warranty

rating based on $ spend vs HVAC results.

We purchased a York brand HVAC from Rosco Brown 11/2020 for $7000-  multiple neighbors went with Hiller but I was taken with Rosco Brown being local and trusting ... someone that has your back with HVAC (could be a jingle!)

Fast forward 24 months and the unit I purchased  now needs new compressor and switches --- parts covered by warranty- labor an additional $2400 from RB.   Not RB fault with install - but I am now paying an extra 35% to have heat on a 2 year old HVAC???   The York is not an entry level unit - I trusted Rosco Brown salesperson Lee with unit recommendation and trusted their expertise in brands and models.  

Yep, I didn't pay the extra $1000 at purchase to cover future labor ... contract confirms that and I have been reminded of that 3 times.  But what kind of $7k Unit fails after 24 months ???  York installed by RB    

Any help from RB on labor? No, book price. Again, not their fault ... but maybe make less profit on the fix and install parts (covered by York) at cost?  They are very polite with so sorry your unit failed - that usually never happens - and labor will be 35% of original purchase price to fix.

I was able to connect with the Roscoe Brown team, and they were able to remedy the situation of the missed appointment. A plumber was able to come on a Saturday and was very helpful in resolving the leak issue.

Friday evening, the thermostat started clicking on and off. Heat would not stay on. Finally it stopped completely. If anything can go wrong on the weekend, it will.

Put in a service call to these guys Saturday. Steven (I hope I remembered his name correctly) took the call. He immediately contacted Lee Mayhugh, and man were we glad!!

Lee was here within a couple of hours. 15 minutes later he diagnosed our problem, came back Sunday and within an hour he had us up and running again. He was very professional, kind and considerate and most of all very knowledgeable. He knew exactly what he was doing.

We trusted these guys to installed our unit in 2016 because they assured us that their absolute goal is to stand behind their work, and to treat their customers right.

Lee proved that to be true when he made us feel that we were his number one concern Saturday night. We are so glad that we chose them and would highly recommend them to anyone.

I don't have an issue with their rates or the quality of their work. I've used them twice over the last 4 months as my ac has failed twice. Both times they repaired it for a reasonable price and I think they did a good job. The rub is they are slow to respond and then fix the issue. Both times taking 3 and 4 days to fix the issue. I'm serviced by the Murfreesboro office so perhaps they are just busier than they can handle.

Roscoe Brown is a complete rip off!!!!!  I requested a quote for insulation to be installed into a 20x20 space of my attic.  I received a quote for $825!!!!!  This is insane and a complete insult!  How hard is it to find a good and honest company that's not looking take peoples hard earned money from them???? I will never do business with Roscoe Brown and I will inform everyone I know to stay away from them as well!!!!

Called these people in the morning as my HVAC wasn't cooling here in Mid September 90 degree weather.  They said they would have someone out and then I get called about 6 pm that they can't come until the next day.  If you couldn't make it.  Tell me.  Then I can schedule someone else.  But by taking the appointment and then not making it.  You absolutely screw me.  This company stinks in my opinion.

I couldn't be more pleased with The great people at Roscoe Brown. I bought a Bosch inversion AC/ heater in summer of 2021. It has been perfect and during this time I have had several technicians by to check on it. They are professional, talented, going above and beyond. I can see why they are a third generation business, customer service is so good they will get my plumbing as well as any other services that they can perform. Thank you Roscoe Brown

They did get the job done at 9 PM on a Friday and so far so good. But it just seems fiscally unethical to charge $264 for about 10 minutes of labor and one screw (literally). Lawyers don't make that. That's $1,300 an hour rate!!!! Even if you throw in the imaginary 1/2 rate of a top notch attorney's travel time, this still comes out at $200+ an hour. Maybe I got scammed, maybe that's how it is. Would love to hear from the owner or the manager if taking off the garbage disposal, putting some putty, and screwing it back on should really cost that much. Thanks.

Called RB with an HVAC issue expecting to schedule a service a couple of days out. Billy came out this afternoon and got me sorted out in around 20 mins. A/C is blowing like new! Very reasonable service charge for the visit and quick payment via card with iPad. So smooth. Could not be happier. I will certainly contact them for future service. Thanks!

I cannot say enough good things about this company. I had a new AC unit installed in my condo from Roscoe Brown around the end of last year and they gave me a better price than the other quotes I got. Since then, I have had a couple of small issues, and Mike came out out and fixed my problems. He was extremely professional and walked me through what he was doing each time. I would recommend this company to anyone!

Very impressed and highly recommended. After my 17 year old heat pump system died, I called around to get quotes on a new and more efficient system. They were quick to schedule someone to come out to give me a quote and were able to get the next system installed within a week of my initial call. Keith, the sales guy I worked with was knowledgable, patient and not pushy like some of the competition is. He gave me a couple different brand options sized correctly for my house and efficiency needs. Compared to the other quotes I got, Roscoe Brown was right in the middle including a warranty on labor from RB and from the manufacture. The installation crew was professional and fast. Enjoying the new A/C system now. All and all, a pleasure to work with and glad the potentially stressful experience was not. Highly recommend Roscoe Brown!

Wow. This is not the time to lose air conditioning. So, of course, my air conditioning went out on me this week.

That was fun.

There are few first world problems more grating than a lack of a/c during a heat wave. Add to this frustration, the fact that my unit is three years old. I shouldn't be having these issues. I tried to keep a sound mind. I called my usual HVAC guy. He noted that the problem was a coil issue and while that sucks my parts were under warranty so no problem. Right? Wrong. He called me back to let me know it would be 4-6 weeks before I had a/c again. I didn't even have the strength to laugh ironically at that sentence. Again, first world problem... I get it but there was no way that was happening. I spent the night tossing and turning, wondering who sabotaged/put roots on me, crying a little, vowing revenge on *some*body, and pleading with the universe for help. That last part was a bolt of inspiration. I used this website called 'Yelp' and a relatively new feature called Request A Quote. If you haven't used this, you should. Seriously. Request A Quote enables you to contact a variety of businesses (usually in the home services category) and get multiple answers/bids to help you with your issue. Of the many I contacted, Steven from Roscoe was one of the first to get back to me. Steven asked a variety of questions to ensure that he and I were on the same page with what the issue was, the part I needed and the labor involved. After getting the serial and part information, Steven discovered that there were six coils available in their warehouse Murfreesboro. Six? Hallelujah! I told him to sign me up. Before we punched it in, he said it was their policy to send someone out to ascertain the issue and give the thumbs up about what was needed. Sure. I get that. He said that he had a tech who could be at my house in a half hour. Sweet. Done.

Mike C got to my house 20 minutes later and what was bad started turning to good. First off, there's a reason why Mike is mentioned in so many of these reviews. Roscoe, please take care of this man. He's a boon to your business! Mike was super affable. He and I walked to the unit in question, I talked him through the timeline, what was going on, what I'd discussed with Steven and the part I needed. He looked at the part I pointed at and told me I'd described the wrong coil. My issue was with the condenser coil not the evaporator coil. Before he even diagnosed my current coil, he got on the phone to make sure he could get a coil. He could; there was one. ONE! Oh my God, there was one of these things in the city and Mike got it for me. After verifying he had the coil reserved, he went about looking for the issue with my present coil and figuring out the logistics of working on my unit. He talked with Steven, updated him on the issue, let him know about the correct coil, and told him what time he could come back the following morning to fix my problem.

The next morning? Not 6 weeks from now? I could cry. True to his word, he was at my house at a quarter after 8. After some pleasantries (and some water; he had his own but I gave him some as well), he set about his work. A few hours later, he had me turn my unit on. An hour and a half after that, all was right within my first world. From looking at a bleak future of 6 weeks in the middle of summer without air conditioning to sitting in my air conditioned house to write this review, I have gone on quite the roller coaster. I am so grateful for Roscoe Brown, Steven and Mike. They have made a major difference in my life. OH! And the cost for bringing me back to life? SIGNIFICANTLY less than what I was quoted from other vendors (vendors who told me I couldn't get the coil for, at least, 10 days). PLUS, Roscoe offers 10% services just for signing up for their twice-a-year servicing (which you should do anyway). It just gets better. And each time a Roscoe tech performs work on your unit, that work comes with a 30 day come-back-and-fix-whatever-else-related-to-that-problem guarantee.

I couldn't recommend this business more.

Our heating and A/C unit went out, so I called Roscoe Brown. The technician gave me recommendations, and I decided to replace my 18 old year unit. I was given suggestions on units and prices the same day, and that Friday afternoon, my new unit was installed. Great customer service and work as usual. Thank you

These guys came out quickly to fix a scam attempt by Hiller to create a service need during their Hiller Club free visit. Since then I have always called these guys when I need help and they have never pushed anything on me I did not need. They do try to upsell a bit , as all companies do, but they don't push it or break something after you decline just do you have something else to have to fix. I will continue to use them as long as they remain as dedicated as they have been to good customer service.

I found this company through yelp. This company was excellent to work with. The representatives were friendly and efficient. Mike was on time for the appointment and the office called to let me know he was on his way.

Service was excellent, mike diagnosed the problem and fixed it immediately. The price was fair, also. I would highly recommend this company.

I live in a new construction home and my heat quit working all of a sudden. I called Roscoe Brown at 12:50 p.m. and spoke to the dispatcher Troy. He was very friendly and professional and immediately found my file. He told me he would be sending a technician that afternoon. Kevin arrived at my house at 2:45-incredibly quick response since the night time low was expected to be 23 and I am sure they had a lot of work to do. Kevin was very quick to diagnose the problem and had my unit up and running before 5 p.m. I can't recommend this company enough! I am in the service industry and the team at Roscoe Brown was top notch!
