One of my two toilets started running constantly and needed the guts replaced.  Simple enough, I have done it before and bought the parts to replace everything in the tank for 14.00.  Then the other toilet in the house started leaking from the tank, still  simple enough to fix, just replace the guts of that one too.  But I decided not to waste the time to do both toilets, I mean dealing with one is OK but two...not my idea of fun.  So I call Hiller to come out.  They've always been fairly priced in the past.  Even with having already bought the parts for one toilet they still quoted me over $450.00 for the parts for one toilet, and the labor to fix both.  That's an outrageous price and I can do it in two hours, so you know they can do it in an hour and that's both toilets.  NEVER again will I call Hiller for anything.  I waited two days for them to come out and give me a redicilious price to replace the guts of two toilets.  What a rip! So it cost me a 59.00 service call to find out they were going to rip me off.  Never again, I wouldn't let them work in my house if water was spraying from every faucet and toilet.  God help and older person who can't bend down and fix the toilets or doesn't know how. What if a person is on a fixed income?  I hope they can sleep at night ripping people off like what they tried to do to me.

UPDATE:   After complaining they called me back and credited the trip charge.  So at least I am not out any money.

More expensive than others in the area. Occasionally good, often bad. They are just too big and you never know the quality of the tech coming out.

I had a service call from Hiller. He said the compressor needed to be replaced but a brand new air conditioner would be the best since replacing the compressor would cost $3,000. So I called out for a different company to see what they would say. GBT Heating and Air. They said yes the compressor needed replaced but it would be better to replace due to age and cost. I called Hiller for the replacement estimate with the same exact equipment used on the GBT estimate and Hiller came in $1,700 higher! That's a huge difference! I found out that Hiller pays a percentage to their service techs on all new equipment installed! There is an incentive for half truths! Oh, and the service charge showed up on my visa as reoccurring debit! I guess the service guy gets a cut if he sells the yearly service call!!  GBT saved me $1,700! Much better service with honest people!

Waaaaaay too expensive!  They don't charge by the hour...... They charge by the job.  So, replacing a flange and valve that took literally 1.5 hours I was charged $530!!  I would never have paid this, but I was in a jam with family coming to stay.  We had a plumber at our store a few weeks ago that spent almost five ours and only charged us $380.  I would have used them again, if they were available.  The guy that helped us was extremely nice, but I will never use them again.

UPDATE: Worked with their customer support to refund the estimate fee.

**************************************************************
I called in to have someone come out to run a 12' gas line from our basement to our cooktop. I tried to get a rough estimate over the phone because if they quoted me over $400 then I didn't want them to complete the work (internet estimates were quoting around $200-$300). However, they wouldn't ballpark over the phone not even a very rough range. When the technician showed up, I spent ~5 minutes showing him around and then he quoted me $700 just to run the gas line from the basement to the cooktop (not even hooking it up). I sent him on his way. I guess they have a great way to make money for nothing. The technician did seem competent but was quoting a set company price that I wish had been communicated to me over the phone so I didn't waste time and money.

This is the first and only review I've posted with Yelp so that's saying something. I also posted this review on Facebook and Google. I'm hoping that it will spare someone from calling and going through something similar.

High pressure sales tactics along with crafting a narrative around fear to get service contract signed. They did refund my service call fee.

I would like to, once again, sing the praises of the Hiller Co.!  I am a Happy Hiller Club Member, which definitely has its advantages!
So, onto the praises! Pls bear with me!
A leak was discovered 3 yrs ago in my master bathroom. The source of the leak was the faucet area. Unfortunately, the plumbing behind the faucet was not easily accessible - the side of my house was located on the other side! ‍
At the time, I was not keen on any contractors and I wasn't aware that Hiller could do this work.
So, I had the water turned off to the master bathtub for 3 yrs. (I have a guest bathroom I was using).
I recently found out Hiller could help me. Project Manager, Billy Ezell, said that Hiller could take out the old tub, put the plumbing inside the house AND put in a new tub!!! I was extremely elated and relieved!
Jonathon Carlisle, aka J.J., was assigned to the task. What a blessing he is!!!
J.J. is very professional, courteous and didn't give up when he ran into a couple of challenges during this job!
He kept me informed as he did the work and apologized if he felt he was taking too long to finish this project!
I reminded him that I waited 3 yrs. to get this project complete because of prior crappy experiences with a few contractors. At this point, a few days to complete the work and do it right we're valuable to me!
I am so VERY GRATEFUL that I can turn to Hiller for my a/c, heating, plumbing and electrical!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM! And, I am not being reimbursed or forced to write this! It's the truth!
Thank you!

What a rip off. Don't go here for hvac. They charged me  $700 for a thermostat. Their plumbing is actually quite reasonable though. Don't trust the slogan.

I had a fire on my lawn and the power cords leading to my AC unit got burnt up. They didn't fix the cords but instead told me I needed a new unit- without trying to power it on or fix the cords. The cords inside the unit had no damage. So I asked about fixing it- they quoted me $4000 for an evaporation coil & $500 maintenance fee for each additional thing that they they had to fix. I think there were 8 things they found wrong with the unit - $4000 maintenance fee not counting parts. Tried to say a new unit would cost 8-10k for a 3ton. Looked at prices online- it costs no where near that. The technician obviously had some sales experience as he tried to play buddy buddy with me and tried to relate to me about everything he could. Anyways he talked way too much and contradicted himself I counted 7 times- he flat lied to my face. That's a no go. I will not do business with these assholes.

DONT USE THEM.

Left a review a few months ago about our brand new unit not cooling the house down properly, now here we are in the dead of winter 11/14  freezing our asses off. I have tried to heat the house up with our BRAND NEW (well 6 month old unit) 27 hours ago and it hasn't worked so my unit has been running for that long so I'm almost afraid to see what our bill will look like. Because our family has been burned by Hiller before it almost seems so daunting having to call them to check out our unit.... AGAIN and back then I was told we were going to get a new one by the GM and that never happened! Even playing the recording back about her swapping the unit out for a new one, still didn't happen. Gosh i just wish they get this shit fixed.

Don't make our mistake!  I called this company to sign up for the Happy Hiller Club which meant that our heating/air units would get routine maintenance at the beginning of each season to hopefully head off any problems. Well, quite the opposite happened!  Both of our units were working perfectly prior to the technician arriving.  After the technician completed his work, we were told one unit was fine and the other only needed a little top-off of coolant.  TWO DAYS after this little check up, that unit that needed coolant completely stopped working!!!  After calling them back to speak with them about what happened, we were told a technician would work us in to come see what the problem was.  That technician arrived after 10:00 PM that night.  He told us that in order to keep us from having people go through the house that late to work on the unit, they'd be back the following day.  Well... that return visit brought even more bad news.  The unit that was working perfectly prior to the top-off all of a sudden was a very expensive fix because it uses an old coolant system .... It's important to note that our house is only 6 years old; so clearly, the system cant be as outdated as he was trying to make it sound.  I tremendously regret calling this company in the first place, BIG MISTAKE!!!!

i was really disappointed with the service that i received, first of all i got an estimate for $1500.00 to install a water filter in my house when it was finish i end up paying $2200.00 dlls.
the first night when it was finish it backwash all night long, and flooded my backyard I called the next morning and a technician came to my house and told me it was set up wrong.
I would not recommend hiller plumbing for installing water filtration the installation was not done properly, now i do not use it i have it turned off because when it backwash, it floods my backyard during the winter time water freezes up in front of my back door and I'M afraid me or someone else it's going to fall and seriously get hurt.
I'M really disappointed with the service that I recived, I would not recommend hiller plumbing to anyone.

I hesitated writing a review, because I decided I'd be done with Hiller. I initially was a Happy Hiller customer because I didn't know any better. My ex husband took care of everything.  Now, I was head of the household & in charge of handling ALL of the home maintenance. My co-worker told me about Hiller, because she was also very busy & learned more on convenience & trust. She told me they were more expensive, but would get the job done. I was happy for a year, but that changed after I left my job & was able to slow down & pay more attention. Thank God, my neighbor considered himself a handyman & offered to be present when Hiller came out to my house to perform a service. That was after I told him how much I paid to have my water heater flushed & the scare tactic the Hiller guy used to make me believe my home was in danger of flooding or the heater exploding. There were several times, I questioned the Hiller guys recommendations before my neighbor insisted on helping me. One Hiller plumber told me that I needed a new toilet that had to be purchased thru the company & it would cost me over $500. When the service manager came out to review whatever he had to review, he told me that I didn't need a new toilet, but if I wanted one, I could purchase one at a local supply store & they would put it in. The look on his face was priceless when I told him the repair guy told me the opposite. He apologized & left. He could've even clean it up. Another time, another Hiller plumber came out & told me that I needed to replace the guts in another toilet which would cost close to $200 & the price was high because he had to take apart the entire tank to get to the guts. Hmmm...ok. Well, remember that neighbor? Well, yeah, I could be wait to call him over to listen to the nonsense. The Hiller plumber left. My neighbor & I went to the local supply store & purchased the guts & tube something & the problem was fixed for a whopping $15!
Let me rewind a few service visits & before my neighbor's help. A Hiller plumber & electrician team came out to do their deeds all together like the A-team or something. The plumber had to come back a couple times because he didn't have the correct part to fix my drain. The last time, he couldn't fix it & blamed it on it being too old & impossible to turn the screw. He didn't have any other solution. The electrical team swindled me out of over $200 to replace light faceplates in my kitchen. I found out later, it would've cost me less than $30 to do more than one room. They had to come back the next day because they messed up the wires when they called themselves fixing it. They even cracked a faceplate, but I was so done with him, I accepted it. A guy from the same team remove a small light bulb over my stove. He BROKE it & left a piece inside. He told me he couldn't get it out, but told me to use a potato to try & turn it. I asked why he couldn't fix such a problem since he broke it. He told me he didn't have tools to fix it. Needless to say, I was done with him to & I cross my fingers hoping si figure out how to fix it myself.
I felt compelled to finally write this review when I failed to warn my friend who recently had a bad experience this company. Maybe this can help another potential client. By the way, my friend was quoted $5,800 for a new AC unit only a few months after paying $1,800 to Hiller for repairing the old one. I'm doing my research now in case my unit goes out. I won't be calling Hiller.

I've had a LOT of plumbing issues in the last 2 years, and Hiller has been very good at helping me resolve them.  There's still an open issue, but frankly it's something the builder did wrong 8 years ago...and Hiller keeps thinking up new ways to try to solve.  Maybe next time we'll crack the problem. But, my strange issue notwithstanding, these are good guys who are helpful and honest.

Ugh. If only I could let you experience what I have with this company over the past month. In early January I had a pipe break in my house that was in need of repair. I immediately called Hiller who said they couldn't send anyone out for 3 days, fine no big deal. They stated that there is an initial $69 dispatch fee but that is refunded after repairs are made. The plumber came out as promised and provided an initial estimate of repairs which seemed reasonable given the extent of the work. During the repairs, I was informed that he would have to cut a hole in the wall to get proper access to the pipe. I told him that was fine as the wall was coming down after he left when Serv Pro arrived. After he finished, and I was given the final invoice via email which was $300 higher than the estimate. After going through the invoice, I noticed a couple questionable charges.
First I was charged the $69 dispatch fee which I was told would not be charged as I was going to have repairs done. Second I was charged $199 limited access fee. I contacted their customer service the next day who hassled me about the $69 fee but eventually refunded it as courtesy. The customer service agent didn't know what the $199 fee was and said that accounting would have to contact me about it. After battling back and forth for about a month, I was refunded the $199 limited access fee with a beyond sweet and genuine apology about the back and forth and amount of time it took to resolve it.
I greatly appreciated them not forgetting about me and resolving it.

I was a happy hiller club customer for a few years.  during that time, they serviced my hvac and plumbing.  on every visit, they suggested thousands of dollars in improvements to my home - from whole house water filter (even though i already have one!) to electrically charged filter screens.  still like this idea but it's several thousand dollars.
during the club visits, they always said they were happy to changed my whole house filter cartridge for me gratis as well as change out a kitchen sink faucet handle cartridge that goes bad about once a year.
well, the kitchen faucet started leaking from the handle again.  i called hiller to come out for an estimate.  they called it a rebuild even though i knew it was a 5-10 minute job and i had the parts from the manufacturer.  the service tech quoted $250.  i called hiller accounting while he was here and they confirmed that three years ago they did it gratis when the plumbing was serviced.  the prior year they arbitrarily charged me $79.  and now this year, they wanted $250.  all for the same quick job - no parts from them.  finally the service tech said he'd been authorized to go as low as $224 for the fix.  i told him to leave.
i called N2 plumbing on a referral from the store where the faucet was purchased.  they offered to do it for the price of their service call (under $100 - $60ish, i think).  meanwhile, i realized i needed an extra outdoor spigot.  they ended up installing that and doing the faucet gratis (free) while they were already here.
please nashville companies - stop taking advantage of your customers - esp women!!

I called Hiller because I needed a few plumbing issues fixed. I knew they were nothing major but they quoted me $395 plus tax to switch out a faucet, adjust a toilet & fix a leaky sink. Probably things I could have figured out on my own but I just haven't had time so I thought I would call a professional. I ended up letting the tech switch out the sink (which I had already purchased) so there was no need for any parts but it was still $165 plus tax. I just thought that was a little ridiculous so next time I will do it myself or call a local guy. No wonder they wouldn't give me a quote over the phone!

After an email to Jimmy Hiller, I got a call from Debbie in dispatch that she was sending a senior tech named Robbie Ford to fix my aggravating sink problem. I later received a call from a manager named Bob apologizing for the fiasco that we have been through and he said that he would refund the full amount of my bill. So Hiller did stand behind their 100% satisfaction guarantee. Robbie and his partner were extremely knowledgeable, professional and completely took care of my sink problem. Thank you.

Decent service, but not super prompt, and deceptive billing!  Twice I have been overcharged by their billing department after being quoted one amount by the technician.  And these aren't trivial amounts either, it's been an unannounced 25% upcharge both times.  If I had the time, I would sue them for fraud.

I called these guys out when our AC unit was freezing up in the middle of summer. They set me up an appointment time between 6 pm and 9pm, and stated that the service call was $89. On the evening of the appointment, I waited and waited for the tech who didn't show up until AFTER 10 pm. He evaluated the unit, pretty much telling us that what was wrong with the unit could not be fixed that night - that we would need to set up a time for someone to come out and repair it. (Fair enough) He added coolant to the unit, which wasn't even needed. (Two other HVAC companies told me later that the unit was overcharged, meaning that it had too much coolant in it) He gave an estimate for repairs, and then proceeded to charge us for the service call. He asked if we were quoted $99, at which point I told him that we were told $89 by the person who scheduled the call. He found a coupon for us and only charged us $50. I would like to give him credit for being nice enough to give us a discount, but I realized that he pretty much did nothing to help us. The coolant that was added had to be removed by the company who later did the repairs (luckily they were nice enough to NOT charge us for the removal, which normally involves a fee).
To top it off, Hiller sent me an invoice a few weeks later because there was a problem processing our card that we paid with, meaning that the tech wrote the number down incorrectly.
So, to sum up, Hiller wasted my time, put too much coolant in my unit, and is not capable of taking a payment properly. I would not recommend them to a friend.

1. You get a different plumber every time.
2. We purchased a water heater from them and a 2 years later it quits working. I had to prove they installed the water heater, even though they presumably had records to show they install it. Finally, after confronting them with the invoice they fixed it.
3. Another 2 years and the water heater fails again. This time, after lost faith in Hiller we hired another plumber. He found that the 2 thermostats in the water heater were set to 2 different values. According to the new plumber that will lead to the thermostats death.
4. Hiller is always trying to upsell on something.

We will not use them again.

My Hiller tech was Bill. I didn't get his last name, but he came out and serviced my plumbing on September 6th. It was getting late at night, and I really appreciated that Hiller was able to come out at 11:30 PM. When I met him at the door, I said we'd probably have to re-schedule another day because what I needed done was going to take awhile and it was late. Once I told him what I needed done, he said That shouldn't take me more than an hour, actually. It surprised the hell out of me.

I just had him take out a toilet and install a new toilet that I had bought from Home Depot. He was quick, very knowledgeable, and made good conversation for so late at night, even! He finished up at 1 AM after starting just around midnight, so he was true to form. Great service, great hours.

Would give 0 stars if I could. They wouldn't agree to come in the morning but then showed up so I had to leave the gym early. Then they tried to charge me 89 just to look at it? I live in an apartment in which the owner pays those fees. When I tried to explain that he wouldn't have it. It wouldn't have bothered me as much if I hadn't been SOO nice offering him a drink even after he took me out of my way to accommodate his schedule. THEY ARE TERRIBLE!!!!!!!! Go literally anywhere else. the issue is still there :/

We needed to have our 16 year old ac and furnace replaced so I gave them a call. A gentleman came by that afternoon and gave us a quote. They quoted three systems with different prices and options and explained the differences with no pressure to buy the high end one. Installation was scheduled for 4 days later. The install crew was prompt and professional. They were polite, performed quality work and left the area clean. Overall a good experience.

Buyer Beware! The technicians at Hiller Plumbing and Heating are where used car salesman go to die. I bought their service contract; with that I have no complaints. The issue is the work they try to sell you that isn't necessary. Two visits ago, it was a new condenser (my Freon was leaking they said). When I asked them how they know, he described the apparatus he used to see the leak. When I asked him to show me- it magically disappeared. This visit, I needed a new capacitor. It was registering a 46, he said (at the time I had no idea what he was talking about). He said, it needs to be at 35...that it was putting a load on the condenser and that it would cause the condenser to fail which would be a much more expensive fix. Again, I asked him to show me. Magically it registered at 36.2, which he said was still higher than 35 and I should replace (at $295 if I did it now). A quick search of the internet taught me what I needed to know about capacitors and right there on the capacitor it had this +/- 6, which meant it could have a variance of plus or minus 6% which simply meant that the 36.2 reading was within the variance.

While he was packing up to leave he said, Your annual contract is up...do you want to review?

No I said, I don't think so.

If you are going to do business with them (or anyone) always ask them to show you and explain it to you. If not- expect to be taken for a ride!

These guys are a joke. I am now one if 8 friends who will never do business with these clowns again. Bought a tankless water heater a while back. Installed, check. Went to service it with another company because of a mess Hiller cause before and guess what this guy shows me. He has to reinstall pipes to flush and clean system for regular maintenance because Hiller installed the pipes for cleaning backwards.

On Tuesday, November 12th, a Hiller Plumber and his apprentice came to my house to service our water heater. The Hiller plumber told me that my water heater needed to be replaced and could not be fixed.  He gave me 2 options:  Purchase a new water heater for $1800 (installation included) or purchase a tankless water heater for $5500 (installation included).  My husband decided to go out and purchase a water heater and have them install it.  Since the Hiller Plumber was late returning my call for an installation estimate...we contacted another company for an installation estimate.  The other company's plumber came to our house, checked out our supposedly broke water heater and in less than 15 mins. lit the pilot and fixed it.  Hiller CHARGES WAY TOO MUCH FOR THEIR SERVICE and THEY HIRE INCOMPETENT EMPLOYEES THAT WILL LIE JUST TOO MAKE MONEY FOR THEMSELVES AND/OR HILLER.  Sad company practices.

Good grief. I stopped using my local technician so I could get on an All-in-One maintenance plan (plumbing, heating, A/C, dehu) with Hiller -- otherwise known as the Happy Hiller Club. I figured it would be more convenient than calling one person for HVAC, one for plumbing, and servicing my dehu myself. Wrong!

I have never had a single issue with either my Carrier or my Trane until Hiller started servicing them last year. The first time I had no idea what was going on after they serviced the HVAC and it stopped working. Well, the technician had to come back out, and he had forgotten to flip the breaker back on. Crazy me, never thought I'd need to check that one! The second time they serviced it, they apparently got water in the spliced thermostat line and caused the fuse to blow, thereby rendering the system inoperable. Again, never had that one happen!

I've hired an electrician to fix the line (hopefully that's really what it was), but the Happy Hiller Club has cost me more than just the annual fees! My recommendation is to truly go local and get a quality Mom and Pop, even if it costs more. It's good for the community and it's nice to know who is going to service your unit every single time. The big box outfits, even if they were once a local guy and a truck, are just not able to provide the same quality.

HVAC wasn't working properly - they came out to give a second opinion for free. Found numerous leaks in the coil, came in $1200 cheaper than a competitor to replace the 10 year old unit, and put $300 worth of freon (retail price) in the unit for free to keep us cool in the interim between the inspection and our new HVAC install. Everyone was nice, professional, and most importantly, efficient.

On the recommendation of Dave Ramsey, I enlisted their service to clean / service 7 units.  The cleaning was done by 2 techs.  The second tech and cleaning I have no problem with.

The first 6 units 1 tech was scheduled, he showed up and had no idea he was doing 6 units, he called dispatch and they had 4 people scheduled over the course of 3 days to do these units - I was taking 1 day off work to get these done, this would not work.

He got done with 5 of them in a rather short amount of time, I'd shown up and cranked the ACs down and did what needed to be done by someone with a key (that was me that day).

He recommended replacing a single pole contactor (~250 labor for a 6 minute job and a $10 part) and replacing a couple of capacitors (which were fused together with gunk) - I let him do the capacitor job and discovered unscrewing 2 screws that held the capacitors down and plugging 3 wires into the new capacitors and screwing the 2 screws back down was costing me $175 labor.  This was accomplished in under 10 minutes.

Cut to a month later - one of the units goes out, my handyman has with him that day an AC guy, they go over and inspect the unit and discover it's about as filthy as can be.  Just completely covered in dirt.  Had not been cleaned basically.  The problem was something simple, ac guy fixed it and did a quick inspection of the other 3 units that were at that location, none were clean.  The others were not all that dirty, but they sure weren't recently cleaned.

I call up, cancel my service that day, leave a complaint about the situation.

next month rolls around and I have another charge for the units, call back this time irate and ask why it wasn't canceled.  They have a record where I called in but nothing, no complaint, no request to cancel, etc.  I tell them to reverse the charges and get me a manager.

2 days later I get a call from a manager, I tell him the story, I'm offered a refund on the cleaning and putting a note in my file to only send senior techs.

A fairly long discussion ensues, not heated, about why I cannot continue on with them.  The reasons involving extremely inflated service rates charged by people who evidently are not doing the work, I'm offered a refund of some sort, I start forgetting the details here but I never saw it.

for 5 more months I get calls to schedule my ac maintenance, I call into Hiller 3 more times in an attempt to get my number blocked from their automated notification machine, it finally gives up at 1 year after I signed up for them.

AC tech from the first job was in the neighborhood of the unit done by the other tech, he looks at the job and says it's fine.  So they got 1 out of 7 right.

Yesterday I got in the mail the letter spam claiming my Happy Hiller Club membership was about to expire.

Also, during this time I was under the impression that they would do some sort of plumbing check, this never happened and I have no idea what that was about.

Check some of the negative ones on google, you'll get an idea what the non-5 star service has been like.  That's all I saw on review sites at the beginning of 2010, now most everything is positive.  Maybe it got better in the past year, or as someone suggests perhaps there really are a bunch of fake reviews, or maybe I was just that one customer they let completely down, but they cost me money, time, and trust.

The service was good but very expensive. It was a high pressure sales visit and they were looking to up their sales. We had a fill valve on a potty that needed replacement. It cost $287. This was way too much for this repair. They offered to reduce the price if we joined their preventive maintenance program. Without asking, they tested the water pressure and reported it was out of code and we needed a pressure reducing valve. We already have one. We will not be calling them back for any other plumbing issues. They did fix the potty.

After speaking with Hiller, they did find my original scheduled work and the lady seemed sincerely shocked that this happened. She sent someone out to evaluate the system that we had someone else put in and didn't charge me a dime. It turns out that we are NOW in their service area and I will call them if we need anything in the future.

The plumbing team from Hiller was outstanding!
The guys worked all day into the evening to make sure everything was just right! They were so polite, friendly and they both worked really hard....the whole time!
The best experience we have ever had with a maintenance crew!

My HVAC was working great, even on the hottest days, except a drain line clogged. Hiller cleared the line, and recommended an AC service, which I accepted. Paid $400. The next day my HVAC won't cool the upstairs any more. Told them. They say it will be 4 days to get anybody here, while my family has to sleep on the chairs and couch downstairs instead of upstairs in our beds. Told them we couldn't wait, and I would have to call around and find another AC company to fix it. They said, Fine by us. Worst service experience I have ever had in 40 years of home ownership.

I have to give these guys 5 stars for integrity. Called them to fix our A/C unit. Burned out blower motor. After replacing it, the technician found a burned out controller board. Replaced it at no additional cost. The unit ran a few hours and the bearings blew out in the fan assembly box (squirrel cage). They came back again and replaced that as well........and no extra charge. They actually did stick to their original estimate and didn't try to pull the old You need to buy a new unit. THANK YOU FOR BEING HONEST, GUYS!! It's a breath of fresh air.

I had some electrical work done. Installation of 2 ceiling fans and 2 light fixtures. Hiller is massively overpriced. My total bill was $694 for 3 hours of work. That's $231/hour for electrical work. A union guy makes $70/hour at best.

This is my own fault. I was busy with work when the quote was presented...I signed it and didn't think twice. I should have been more observant but was preoccupied. I called to complain after the fact....they had the young guy who did the installation call me back. I know he doesn't set the prices..it's not his issue. I was told that a manager would call, but never heard from him. I told the young guy to go start his own electrical business, charge half of what Hiller charges, and that he'd make a killing.

The work was very good. But still, they'll never get a call from me again for anything.

Dealing with Hiller has been the absolute worst experience I've had with any company in 50 years!!! I purchased a new home in 2006 the a/c was replaced by hiller in 2014. The trouble started 2 days after installation and never fixed. Every summer my 2 story home averages 86-90 degrees inside.. A service man comes out at least 2-3 times a year they come out and tell us to keep blinds closed and explain that TN weather is too much for any cooling unit.. Meanwhile I am the only home on the block with no a/c.. It's disgusting to be blatantly taken advantage of!! The president sends a generic comment (same comment) every year but has never made an attempt to rectify.. I see commercials that say they will replace units if unsatisfied.. OUT RIGHT LIES!!!!
PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH AND KNOW THAT ONCE HILLER GETS YOUR THOUSANDS OF HARD EARNED MONEY THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR ADVERTISING!!
Heartless highway robbery!!

My husband called for a plumber to do a simple repair on a couple of running toilets. The guy that came was courteous and prompt but was clearly a salesman. We payed him $60 for him to diagnose that we had a running toilet! He gave a sales pitch on replacing all 3 toilets in our home (for an unbelievable price!)and then wanted to replace a hot water tank that was working fine. He used plenty of scare tactics about how these things don't last beyond 10 years and I might have a flood. I shut him down when I related that in  my other house that I had lived in for 18 years had a hot water tank that had been in the house since 1971.  I say find another plumber. I ended up doing the repairs myself for about $25 in parts.

I had my air unit go out and had Hillier come out to see what the problem was at a price of around $80.00 dollars. I had turned off all the breakers to the unit before they arrived. I was informed that there was a fire in the unit which burned up the mother board and blower and could be fixed for about $3000.00. I was not at home when Hillier did the inspection. When I got home I noticed the unit was on and humming a terrible sound. I then turned off all the breakers again and called Hiller to inform them of the concern of another fire or the fact the unit could have been further damaged. The next day the tech who did the first inspection called and said sorry and that if I decided to get a new unit it would be at a discounted price. The sales person came out on Friday  and gave my wife a quote which was the second highest of the 5 quotes. The sales person did not call us back until the next Thursday to see if we wanted a new unit. I would not recomend this company unless you want to to spend alot more money then you need to.

Scheduled a diagnostic for plumbing issues we have been having, was quoted initial diagnostic of pipes at $49 by the customer service for the plumber to come and DIAGNOSE the issue. I realized that whatever they found wrong may possibly be expensive, if in fact, there was a major problem. On initial visual evaluation one plumber said he would have to inspect the main line on the outside of the house and dig down to the main pipe. I asked specifically if this would be part of the 49 dollar inspection and the guy said its all included. He had the pipe dug up promplty and found the problem. After seeing that the pipe had been damaged before and replaced with insufficent piping, of which I was unaware,he proceeded to pull some ichy stuff clogged up in the drain. He said then that work would be 327.00 plus the 49. I thought the diagnostic was the 49, after all, thats what I asked him and this was asked twice now, how much to diagnose the problem, because I could have gotten another opinion before any work done, but obviously he had already done the work and I didnt have a clue what was going on.Then, to make matters worse, he told me he was going to cover the hole back with the broken piece as it was, and then another crew would have to come out and fix the pipe later, of course, for around 1200 dollars or more. I dont have a savings nor credit. I just wanted a diagnosis, so I could know what to expect, perhaps I could fix the problem myself, I didnt expect to pay 327 dollars for that immediately, I was totally misinformed in my opinion, maybe Im wrong, but I feel there should have been a diagnosis and discussion before any work or charges were racked up. I got on the phone with their 800 customer service number, obviously they are a very large company, and the lady proceeded to make me feel as though I were an idiot and told me plumbers are expensive and I shouldnt have called if I didnt expect to pay highly for it. She was nonetheless, rude to me, talking over me..She called the plumber and shortly after that, he finished covering the hole and packed his things abruptly without talking to me, I was in the house on the phone,  and he was obviously very angry, and left. Im not being racist or ethnically prejudice, but his accent was hard for me to understand, he talked very quickly and I couldnt understand some of what he told me anyway, although, he did have a partner who was very young and quiet. Oh well, I wont be calling them ever again, this is what makes me afraid of service companies, they couldnt give a crap about the customer.

I was in the unfortunate situation in which my HVAC unit was leaking gas into the atmosphere. Because of their reputation and the Happy Hiller membership that the previous homeowner passed onto me when I bought my place six months ago, I called Hiller.  They were really responsive to my call and had a tech out to my house within just a couple of hours.  My unit was shot and I either needed to buy a new one or pay for extensive repairs.  The tech and a project manager, who is essentially a sales manager, spent the day with me, discussing options.  I was not blind to the fact that they were there to sell something to me, but I also had to face the fact that I needed what they were selling.
Another company was called to offer another quote, but when the other company arrived, the technician did not instill faith in me that his company would do such a great job.  He was not professional in appearance or demeanor and this purchase is too important to trust to just any company.
Hiller, on the other hand, knew what they were doing and I knew that the job would be done right.  They were able to get our new unit installed and system cleaned within a day of everything going awry and they are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year if I should need them again.  All of their employees were polite, professional, and knowledgeable.  I know that I am paying more than other companies may have charged, but I also know that my new unit is going to last for a long time and that it was installed correctly.  There is no replacement for the peace of mind that I have.

They are friendly, but expensive and SNEAKY. They also will immediately try to rip you off. If you dont know any better , you would never know, but they always come first with the most expensive stuff, EVERY TIME, even if its not needed. If you confront them about it, its their policy to offer it. But some people will assume because of the nice way they present it that its their only choice to fix/replace all the things they recommend. Dave Ramsey must be getting paid well for his recommendation of these people.

I had 2 items added to an install that i did not need or want, and when I tried to get them to come back to remove those items (a thermal expansion tank on my water heater for one) they wouldnt come remove it or refund the $. They are prompt when you pay them, but not when you need them to correct something. They also came back out for that Hiller club HVAC winter inspection and it was running fine the hour he had the heater on while he was here, but when they left after i wouldnt allow some recommended services they moved the defrost jumper to the off position to create a future problem when the cold weather hit. Roscoe Brown came out and confirmed they tampered with it to create a service need, and moved the jumper back and I let them replace the item Hiller was mad I wouldnt let them replace. 50% cheaper to boot.

Look out, if you are ok paying the highest prices in the area just to keep them happy and from screwing with your stuff, by all means. Stick with them. But there seems to be a reason their happy you'll be or the service is free slogan is gone.

So we needed a sink in our half bath connected. I did all the removal of the old sink, sanded and painted the space so this would be an easy install. Called Hiller to come out to install. They don't give free estimates. Should have been our first warning. They showed up and looked at the pipe and connections and proceeded to quote us 750.00 for a simple install. At this point we're out 60.00 for about 5 minutes of their time. Total ripoff.  Avoid at all cost! Very unhappy!

Update -

Called Hiller to complain. Have yet to hear back from them. In the meantime I went to Home Depot and bought a piece  of pvc to extend the trap. 20 minutes later the vanity is installed and not leaking anywhere. Cost 7.00 and 20 minutes of my time. I am not a plumber but this was basic to install and looking back all Hiller wanted was to gouge us. They will never set foot in my house again.

So my mom's toilet backed up at her house .Hiller came out Saturday to fix the issue ...while they were there they gave her three options ..insisting the 3rd option(most expensive) was the fastest and best option 800plus .once they ran the snake and cleared the line the installed a quick clean port ...finished right? No...they told my parents the line going to the septic tank was broken and it would be 1800 on top of the 800 plus....and they would come out this Thursday to do it ....I decided to dig it up myself with a shovel ..I traced the pipe from the house all the way back to septic tank ...guess what ...nothing was broken .......if they had an ounce of heart they would go and rewrite them a new bill and charge only for the drain clog and the service call ...I'm thinking 400 or less but hey I'm just an honest guy what do I know ....I have pictures for proof not sure how to upload

After a debacle with home warranty company and one of their in-network plumbers, I called Hiller for help with two clogged toilets. 30 minutes later they were at my house and 30 minutes later the problem was fixed. They did confirm the other plumber's diagnosis that the pipes would eventually have to be replaced but they didn't try to force the repair or up-sale me on
anything. They just took care of the problem I called them for and at a reasonable price. They'll be my go-to from now on when I need a plumbing or HVAC repair.

I have tried Hiller's plumbing, electrical and as of yesterday their HVAC divisions.  All three technicians were pleasant.  The electrical was reasonably priced and solved my problem.  The plumber fixed one issue perfectly and promised to order me a new kitchen faucet as he could not fix the leak I currently have ....... It has been over a month and I have not heard anything from him or Hiller.  As for my main frustration with Hiller, my HVAC went out yesterday and I called them.  I had to wait around the house for 7 hours (even calling them after 6 hours to see if they were even coming).  The technician did even try to fix my a/c but charge me $79.95 to assess the situation and inform me I needed a new system.  I have no problem paying the technician for his time but I hate feeling duped ---- paying someone to sell you something - that is crazy. I called another company this morning for a second opinion.  They informed me I just needed freon and billed me accordingly. There was no charge just to show up!  Just thought others should be aware.

Although project manager Mike was knowledgeable he quoted me a ridiculously high price to have my system repaired.  They were about 40% higher than others which would be many thousands of dollars.  He also did not follow up with a question I asked for some additional work and he did not quote me as he promised The written estimate several days later came back thousands more.  definitely won't be doing the work with them.

Absolutely not! I will say that they did come out quickly. We called because of the sewer/water was not flowing properly. He first told us that it would be 150 bucks just to dig a hole so he could see the pipe! Are you kidding me??? That didn't include them running a snake and camera.

Then we sat down to discuss the problem. I was told that every pipe in the house needed replaced. The ones under the house were cast iron and they were no good. There needed to be a clean out outside the house and that the line from the house to the city's main line was blocked and needed replaced. The roots of the tree in the yard was the problem. Total cost == 6550.00. YIKES!

I then called another company. Rapid Response Plumbing. Lets say Mark was awesome. He pretty much gave me a quote over the phone!! He looked at the pipes, and said nothing screamed at him. Told me before he will do any work that, the city should be called. He was 90% sure that it was the city's problem not mine. And it was!!!! The city came the next day and fixed the line.

Hiller NEVER said one word about the city. So now I don't need a plumber for the blockage issue. So if I would have gone with Hiller (who likes to upsell EVERY service they provide) I would be out $6550.00. But Im glad I didn't, because now Im out a phone call. Which would you do?

We had a sewage line disaster that backed up into our house. We called Hiller to clear the blockage, and then hired them to do the sewage repair a couple of days later. We couldn't be happier with the service we received throughout the process, as well as, the upfront and fair pricing. I foolishly went for the $99.00 Happy Hiller  Club I had a minor problem and thought I will try them, I am a senior and so is my husband, he had tried to help and the pipes under the sink fell down, nothing wrong with the pipes just putting back together, and also one of our toilets was slow filling up, so instead of going to Lowes and getting the part, I thought I would kill two birds with one stone.  I called and they said I would be a work in on Saturday afternoon.  When the technican came in he told my husband $350.00 I just about fainted, I was warned he day b/4 that Hiller was extremely costly.  Well we talked and he finally got the bill down to $296.00.
I either could not have use of my kitchen sink so I paid.  These were minor things but Hello I did get a new handle on my commode.  I tried to cancel my Happy Hiller Club membership which I have not used, but am now being told they don't know if I get anything back.  I really feel like I got the screws put to me and I am not a Happy Hill Club member anymore.  If they can live like this and overcharge I guess I will just ask the good Lord to bless them, Seniors beware they are not your friend!!!!!!

What a terrible company that doesn't care about families or customers.  I called at 9PM and let them know we had issues with our thermostat and because of it, we had no AC.  I also let them know we had a baby in the house with no AC.  I was told that a technician could be here at 10PM.  I called back at 10:47PM and was asked if I wanted to reschedule to the morning.  Again, we had a baby with no AC!!!  I was then told it could be anytime after 10PM.  What a joke of a company!

My ac went out before I left for a vacation. Called Hiller plumbing and ac. They sent out a tech that evening who correctly diagnosed the problem. Unfortunately the unit was old and the compressor went out. I decided to get a new unit. The project manager came out that evening and we worked out a fair deal. I contacted the owner Mr Jimmy and I told him how impressed I was about the knowledge of the service persons. I will admit there was some haggleing back and forth but in the end it was a fair deal. They even let me have a small window unit on loan till the new ac was installed. I highly recommend this company . They are fair, prompt and knowledgeable about which units they serve.

BUYER BEWARE! This company is underhanded and has zero problem lying to customers and attempting to cheat them. I had to go to the mat with them 2 years ago when I had both emails and phone calls to prove I was lied to. Only when I revealed my proof did they VERY angrily take $$$ off the (also very poor) job they did.

Fast forward two years later. A Hiller tech working in the townhouse next to us did faulty work that caused water damage in both the adjoining townhome and ours. The damage has caused us to be unable to use an entire floor of our home for what will turn out to be well over a month. Obviously, Hiller's insurance will pay for repairs, but when I contacted Hiller about compensation for being unable to use our home.....*crickets* In fact, no one from Hiller EVER even bothered to contact us, apologize, explain what happened, or explain the repair process. After seriously damaging our home and putting us out of the use of a third of it for weeks, Hiller made it abundantly clear that they simply did not care.

This is a company that proudly puts profit before people. They have a lot of slick, underhanded henchmen working fulltime to make sure the company never loses a penny, but apparently no one working to ensure customer satisfaction.

Bottom line: steer clear of this unethical, greedy company.

I called Hiller knowing I might need a new water heater - my tech was Ronnie. I didn't mention another company already told me I needed a new water heater and he advised me the same thing pretty quickly and explained why. He gave me pricing explained all the parts necessary and said he would waive the service fee if I had them replace the water heater. He was educated in plumbing and explained things very well and Hillers estimate came in 35% less than another very large well known company for replacing the same tank and thermal expansion tank. I'll update my review once I decide who to go with.

Last winter, my heating system stopped working. I called Hiller to fix the problem. In the dead of winter, with temperatures well below freezing (~20 degrees F), I was told there were no appointments for half a week.

When the technician finally came to my home, he assessed the problem with my heating system, identifying two parts that needed replacement. He estimated that the repairs would cost $3000, and speculated that I would be better off buying a new heating system. I told the man that I could by no means afford such an expense, paid him for the service visit, and sent him on his way.

A couple of days later, I got a call from another representative of Hiller.  He looked up the prices for the specific parts required and quoted me a price of just under $1700 to replace the two parts.  He said Hiller would work with me on a payment plan.

While I was thinking it over, I used my heating system's model number to price the parts online.  The part that Hiller had quoted me a $900 price to replace cost under $200, at retail,  so I decided to call another company to make an estimate on the repairs I needed.  This second company (Knight)  quoted me a price of $600 to repair both parts and then performed the repairs for that price.

We'd like to shout out RYAN at Hiller Plumbing. He came over to replace the garbage disposal and could not have been more cool, calm and collected. Highly recommend him and Hiller.

There are two technicians at the Columbia Hiller we have come to love -- Robert Collier an electrician and Wayne Culver a plumber. They were both extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. Prior to our experience with them, I saw calling Hiller as a last resort as I knew them to be especially pricey. But after dealing with too many plumber and electrician bubbas who didn't show up when they said they would or didn't finish work in a timely manner, and even worse-- seriously messed up stuff and left it that way so that it not only had to be done again but was also dangerous in the meantime, I was happy to pay more for professional work in a timely manner that is backed with a guarantee. Having it done right the first time saves time and money in the long run even though the initial price may seem high. We have learned that the hard way. These two gentlemen completed several different jobs for us over the period of a month that had been screwed up by cheaper subs in the months prior. They will be our first call in the future.

AC goes out in JULY! Call Hiller after seeing the commercials on TV. Service guy comes out, plays with some wires, tells me how badly fried they are. Looks at thermostat wire, says it will never pass inspection. We head upstairs, standing water in the drain pan. pulls the cover off unit, shines a light around, tells me it will never pass inspection. Lets me know my unit is going to have to be 1) fixed with no warranty, maybe it will work-$900, 2) Repair unit and get it running with 2 year warranty-$3,800, 3) replace unit for $4,000-6,000.
Just so happens their sales rep is in the neighborhood, would I like to talk to him? He comes by, looks at unit outside, looks only. Goes upstairs and looks at water in pan. Yep, going to need a new unit. Works up the paper work, comes to $7,200. Can start TOMORROW!
They leave, wife and I are discussing it, decide for a second opinion. Call another HVAC provider. Their fellow comes out, looks at unit outside, asks if I have a hose. He sticks the hose in the drain, and a big plug of junk comes out along with a flood of water. Goes upstairs, wet-vacs the water out of the pan. Goes back outside and washes gunk off of compressor coils, (which Hiller had serviced in February) and turns unit back on.
We now have a wonderfully cool home again, without spending over $7,000. I feel this was a set-up from the beginning.

I called Hiller for an estimate on T'ing into my sewer line so I could hook up my camper when parked in the driveway. They wanted $1,559 for the whole job and for me to dig the 20 ft long trench $800. He dropped the price to $600 after I told him, no thanks. After I told him I wasn't going to use him he wanted $69 for the estimate.  I told him that it was not stated in the phone conversation to set up the appointment, nor is it anywhere on their website about a fee for an estimate and I was not paying him anything. He spent maybe 10 minutes at our home and another 20 minutes sitting in his van on the road. I'm not sure if this is common practice or not for plumbers to charge for an estimate.

*******I posted this on the Hiller Nashville in Yelp too but no response.********

Well, where do I start Mr. Hiller. First, about 2 months ago lightning struck my house and I called Hiller had a great tech come out,he figured it out in 10 minutes and I was only charged a service fee.
Fast forward to last weekend when my water pressure disappeared. Who do I call but Hiller since I had a great experience with the electrician.
The plumber Jeff came on Monday and he is nice enough. I work from home on Monday so, I let him do his thing. He's done with his assessment and he comes back to tell me all that needs to be done. I ask for an estimate and he figures in his head 2,000 to 2,500. I say ok and continue to work. Well, he is talking to his project manager on the phone in my kitchen and I hear him say, make sure you offer her this. I knew then that they work on commission. Jeff calls me to the front of the house and explains its now $2,800.00. He puts the project manager on the phone and I said if I spend $2,800.00 on this how am I guaranteed this is the problem. Project Manager states, you have my most senior tech at your house. Project manager tells me per my tech your plumbing needs to be replaced, hot water heater taken out and drained, dry wall cut, etc.  They wanted to schedule the work to be done on Wednesday. I tell them Im getting a second estimate.

Today I call 615 Plumbing. Tech Drake comes to my house and figures the problem out in no time. My water pressure valve is old and needs replaced, the galvanized pipe does need replaced and the water at my meter wasn't turned all the way on. Total cost $350.00 to $400.00 estimate. I said Drake since you have been so, honest with me I want you to do another job for me, replace my garbage disposal.
By the way Drake said house piping is perfect and plumbed to spec. and the only pipe needed replacing cost $99. My house was built in 2005.
I believe in capitalism Mr. Hiller and you can charge and do what you want with your business but the great thing about capitalism is I get to chose who I want to perform the job. You lost business and I was lied to and was getting ready to spend thousands on a job repair that didn't need to be done.
615 Plumbing got my business and had extra services done and it cost me $672.30.
Just think Mr. Hiller you might get even more business if your techs didn't work to upsell.

*** UPDATE ***

Hiller has reduced their price to assist me with finnishing my bathroom floor project. The subcontarctor they hired was unable to complete the job as originally proposed in their contract with me,  so in order for me to hire a contractor Hiller did in fact reduce their plumbing repairs fees in order to make up the differnce in cost of their subcontractor and the contractor that I have hired.

I feel this was in good faith and a smart business move on Hiller's Part, again I am a Happy Hiller Customer.

These people agreed to repair 2 leaks on a home that was closing, we closed and hiller came and somehow the 2 leaks turned into $4000, they criticized another local and reputable plumbing company but I wouldn't touch them unless I didn't care about where my money went. They wouldn't even provide an itemized invoice until I waited a year and asked for one for my taxes. Honestly I would have sued everyone involved but I was so stressed and getting sick over it I just let it go, now I wish I had gone to court.  I wouldn't call them and would give them no stars if I could.

I called & requested a ck on my AC. I specifically asked the dispatcher to inform tech not to do anything until I was made known of it BEFORE doing it. I was not informed of a $168 charge before doing it. I called dispatcher, she said it was up to tech. I told her I was very upset with their ethics & customer service care. I insisted that I was not HAPPY that he performed work I didn't give consent to do. She stayed w/ her same story. I ended up paying the charges & my AC was still broken. I would not TRUST this company. There motto: Happy You'll  Be or Service  is Free is also untruth @ least not in my experience. I only went to them b/c Dave Ramsey endorsed them. I suppose not every customer will be satisfied. I was hurt b/c I specifically asked for a courtesy call before doing any analysis on system. When he totally disregard my request I lost all confidence in their company. Beware of this tech & don't trust the dispatcher.

A complete rip off! They target older peoples homes and single moms... Try to scare them into paying for a bunch of items that really arent needed at the time of service... This is why they offer low rate/ free inspections on your home... Just looking for a reason to charge more!

Hiller fixed our hot water heater overnight. Literally overnight. We called around 9pm saying our hot water heater was broken. They said they'd have someone at our house by midnight, which I already found hard to believe. But someone did come by midnight and said we would need a new water heater. He went away and got it and installed it during the night.  We had hot water by 6am the following morning. That overnight service was amazing. What was even better was that they didn't charge us an arm and a leg for the rush service. The prices were extremely fair and reasonable.

Called Hiller who we have a maintenance package with to install a water filtration system and water softener which we had bought at home depot. The guy came out and wanted to charge 900.00 to install this system!! Thus is more than what we paid for it!!! Said they had to use their own supplies in order to warranty their work!! WTF!!! We just removed a water softener and needed to replace it. We found someone else who quoted 300.00 to do it for us. We Will be calling to complain. We also paid for a service charge to boot!!

I called because my heat went out.   When Mike from Hiller came out the next day, the system was again operating.  However, Mike did a thorough inspection and answered every question I had.   He helped me understand what likely went wrong, how it was resolved, and what to keep an eye out for in the future.  Thanks Mike!

I have done service work.  I was charged $199 to basically tell me what was wrong and a two minute fix. Then $100 to go get a part that was under warranty. So $299 to fix a warranty issue. But the service guy was very nice.

They replaced our water heater, due to a small leak from inside the water heater. I knew that I would probably need a new water heater but did not think it would cost almost $1300 (they were going to throw in a new drip pan but guess what it showed up on the bill). They pressured my partner into it even though she was trying to get them to wait until we were off on Friday so she could get back to work. She finally gave in and let him replace it - 3 hours missed from work. After that the new water heater was leaking profusely, shut the water off to it and they sent someone out the next day. Once again it was another hour off from work because they didn t do the job right the first time. That guy didn t have the part he needed so they had to return the next day which happened to be a day we were off or it would have been more time off. The leaking stopped but then it makes a knocking sound every time you run water. Our 2 small dogs love this. Had them come out again and they said it was the expansion tank making that noise. Funny, the old water heater had an expansion tank and it didn t make that noise. So we now have a $1300 noisy water heater. NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!

I had a great customer service from Lydia at the calling center. She is great and should get a $$$. The company almost lost my business if it was it for her and the kind treatment of Nick the technician.  Nick was great as well and helpful. I did have a very hard time with the local Huntsville office with the clerical staff there .  They need some training to be professional.  They were not very helpful at all and seem not have knowledge of anything when I kept asking about a quote that was given to me of $1138 by the tech. Apparently, they did not have a note and they promise to call back but never actually follow thorough...a perfect way to lose business....anyways, I did feel the charge was a bit pricy when it was changed to $2140 after the fact that they were already working on my heating unit. So, the guarantee from the website that the first quote is accurate and no surprises in cost is false advertising. I do appreciate they fix my unit since I'm out the state, but it was frustrating to deal with their Huntsville office with the constant I don't know and not following though with action items they were supposed to do. The project billing manager also did a poor job.  I forgot his name.  I was looking into possibly change my unit, but he never send me the quote to my email. Again, this not the way to do business.  I would look for better service now that I know I will need in new unit the near future.

Ridiculous amount of charges. The tech told the total cost because of the additional work but did not explain that is in addition to the already standard cost making it twice the installation cost. $1000 bucks for installing a water heater is outrageous. I would not use them ever again nor recommend. I should have looked at the yelp reviews before using them.

I should have heeded the communities advice.

I've now had two issues with my water heater that Hiller addressed quickly and with reasonable cost.  One was a Friday afternoon and the other a Saturday.  I don't have much to add to what others have said -- Hiller is available any time of day and they get the job done.  I'm about to see how their service program for HVAC compares to Donelson AC.

My wife & I joined the Happy Hiller Club (Heater & A/C service, & plumbing inspection). We had our heater checked (it's 2.5 yrs old) which only required a minor adjustment. It's worked like a charm during the recent record cold spell. I'll change my rating accordingly after they service my a/c & conduct the plumbing inspection, but as of now we're pleased with the company.

Efficient and friendly, good work.  They don't seem to do work that doesn't need doing, and are careful to explain what does. Sometimes it takes awhile to get an appointment for the maintenance service, but since it's seasonal, that's understandable. Have happily used them 4 times.

I can not say enough about Hiller Plumbing.  During the ice storm a few weeks ago we had a significant water line break and ultimately no water running in the house.  Hiller brought in several crews on an emergency status and fixed it as fast as possible.  They were working in the dark and in freezing cold water.  They even went and brought a man in on his day off to do the job.  They were as concerned about my family not having water as I was.  They are great.  I have used them for several years and they are always professional.

Waste of my time!  I made an appointment for a plumber to come give an estimate to replace a cracked fiberglass tub with another standard tub.  The rep said she would waive the fee for them giving me a quote since I was a new customer... That should have been red flag number one!  What self righteousness to charge a fee to give a estimate on work!    The time set up was 2-4.  At 3:15 a rep called and asked to change the time to 4-6 pm.   The plumber was supposed to call when on his way.   The person did not, and showed up at 5:15p.  He spent 5 minutes looking at the tub, took 2 pictures and said it would be $900 plus me supplying tub and fixture, or $2200 if they supplied the tub.   He wouldn't/couldn't answer my questions about installation.  He was not able to answer my questions about the valve, and why it would need to be changed when I was going from a Moen fixture to another Moen fixture.   He just kept saying well the one we use has a warranty.  He spent 5 minutes in my home.   I don't think he was even a plumber.  He said I would have my quote via email in just a few minutes after he called his supervisor   A few minutes later I get an email with a quote for $1800-2800.   The quote is poorly written and looks like he filled it out with text message.  No real details on the job to be performed.   What a waste of my time!  I called the company back that night and asked for a supervisor to call me.  I was told one would call me the next day, and no one called.    I received a call the day after from some customer service rep asking me if I was happy with Hiller service.  I told her no, and informed her that a supervisor was supposed to call me back about the issue and didn't.   She said she would have someone call me and no one did.     At this point, I would not waste my time dealing with Hiller for any service.    Plus $2800 for a tub replacement with a standard tub is RIDICULOUS.

Had an employee tell me he was going to pull me out of my car and whip my a## for telling him he couldn't park his truck illegally (to which he replied who are you? watch me!) blocking half a street while he and his co-worker went to get Taco Bell.  When I asked what his manager would think about him threatening people he offered to give me the number, which I gladly called as I feel this is something they would want to know about.

Hopefully he won't be with them for long because that's not even remotely acceptable behavior for a human, let alone someone in uniform in a company vehicle representing a brand.  If this is the type of employee I can expect when i call your company, you will never have a place in my home or anyone I know.

Would give Hiller 0 stars if possible.

Have you heard their annoying ass jingle?  Yeah, you know the one.  You probably change the radio station when it comes on.  I know I do.  Well, I fell for it and said they do have trucks everywhere... and oh, hey!  They offer a $99 yearly 'tuneup.'  That sounds great being a new homeowner.

Buyer beware.  I set up 4 appointments.  Heating, cooling, plumbing and electric.  Every single one of them said I had something insanely wrong with my house.  If I were to take their recommendations for everything, I would have spent 20,000.  Nice guys.  You stay classy.

The thing that tipped me off is when the plumbing guy came out.  He just straight out said Man, my job is to tell you anything that's wrong with the house and I'm here to sell it to you. That was the last straw.  That's not to mention that I got a second opinion from Jack Ward Plumbing (the company I went with for the job) and they completely contradicted what Hiller said.  They told me the work that needed to be done, said nothing was urgent and I could do it on my own time.

Hiller is seriously the devil.  Screw the sales tactics.  I have worked in sales before and I hate tacky sales tricks.

Do yourself a favor and NEVER hire them.  Period.

I have a Trane Heat Pump-A/C (I highly recommend a Trane unit-good dependable unit).  The unit is at least 10 years old and I never had a service call on the unit.
Finally the age of the  unit caught up with the blower motor which burned up.
I suspected this was the problem since I could smell the burnt odor in the house.

Called Hiller on a recommendation of a friend.  The Tech they sent was named Chuck who absolutely knows his business He removed the cover of the unit and I could see myself that the motor was burnt up.  He had the motor (actually a universal fit motor that came with adapters to fit different units) on the truck.  He quoted me a price and I accepted the price and he continued to replace the motor.  I was very impressed with his knowledge and the fact he knew what he was doing.  This is the good part.

The bad part..........

The pricing is higher than the average service company in Nashville. You probably can get repairs at a cheaper cost.  However, he advised me the cost before proceeding with the job. I had the option at that point to stop the work, pay the service call and send him on his way.

I was impressed with Chuck's knowledge and felt the job would be done right and it was. When he wrote up the paper work he mentioned joining the Happy Hiller Club.

Hoping that in the future if I should need a service call and their other techs were as good as he was I paid the $99. Three service calls for $33 each is a bargain.

Bottom line.........I don't mind paying for work that is done right the first time. So I highly recommend Hiller. Price is the only reason I did not give 5 stars..

We've used Hiller a couple of times for HVAC repairs in the past and always been pleased with their service. So when we recently discovered a water leak at our home around 7p, we decided to try Hiller for plumbing, too. They had a technician out by 8:30p - what a relief! He was efficient, timely and very polite.  We have a baby who was fast asleep at the time and he managed to make the entire repair right next to her room without waking her (which wouldn't have been the end of the world, but we sure appreciated it!). The repair was a bit expensive, but we believe that was just the nature of the repair, not that Hiller's prices are high. Will continue to call them for our HVAC and plumbing needs!

Piss Poor service. Spent the money to join the Hiller Club for a repeat problem with the HVAC Unit they installed a year ago and serviced 2 weeks ago. It took 4 days to get them to come fix our unit, without the Hiller Club.  Same problem for the 3rd time exactly 2 weeks later. This unit cools our upstairs.

My time was not respected 2 weeks ago.  Showed up an hour early bc it was convenient to their schedule; not mine.

I live chatted Customer Service to get a prompt that all their customer service reps were busy. So I called the number provided.  This was an answering service across the country. Their words ; not mine.

I regret joining the Hiller Club and do NOT recommend Hiller to anyone! Over priced, extremely poor service and work!!

Very incompetent technicians. I had a problem a while back and Hiller had to send out about 5 different technicians on 10 different occasions to fix it. All of those visits kept racking up the bills for the homeowner simply because none of the technicians knew how to fix a problem that should have been addressed on the very first visit.

My heat went out at my house right when we were setting records in Nashville for coldest winter days.  I contacted six, I repeat, six different HVAC technicians to come to my house.  Only one showed up, Hiller.  The woman who set up my service was pleasant and accommodating.  The technician that came out was very professional and was able to diagnose the problem with my furnace correctly the first time (bad blower motor).  I chose not to do business with them at that time because the estimate I received was outrageous.  I wrote a bad review and spoke with their customer service director and a nice gentleman over their HVAC department.  He informed me that they were making changes to their pricing structure, and when he told me what the cost to replace a blower motor was, it was lower than anyone else I could find!  Hiller... cheaper than other companies.  If you can get Hiller's outstanding customer service and professionalism AND a comparable or cheaper price, then you have an excellent choice for your HVAC repairs.  I appreciate the pricing structure changes and now pity your competition.  I suggest reading reviews on Hiller from 1/1/2018 and on because issues with their pricing model have been greatly improved.

We called Hiller to come fix our sink, which had detached from the countertop. When the technician arrived, he took one look at the sink and said they wouldn't fix it because they don't work on granite counters. Fine. The outrageous part is that they charged us $50 just for that!! $50 to tell us they wouldn't fix it!? What a rip off! At the very least the person on the phone should have asked about this since granite countertops are very common and it would have saved us the wait and the money.

UPDATE:  when we submitted an online complaint, Hiller immediately contacted us to apologize and they refunded the $50.  The company has redeemed itself in our eyes.

Courteous crew.  Routine preventive maintenance work performed.  Office called to confirm appointment ahead of time.  Crew was at the house waiting to come in 20 minutes early which helped me out that day.  Offered opinions and options to upgrade or enhance existing systems, but was not hard selling me.  Hiller provides a yearly maintenance agreement that offers two in-home maintenance services per year for plumbing and HVAC (Heating and cooling).  Great idea if you're trying to prevent problems.  Only other comment to this review is that HIller as of 4/11/2013 is not part of Home Warranty of America vendors, so any warranty work that you need done will have to go through your own warranty company if you want to use your home warranty insurance for anything unless you exercise any cash out option with the warranty company.  Those of you who have used warranty companies before know what I am talking about.  I am happy to have a local plumbing/HVAC service that I can call when needed and HIller seems to be great for that at this point.

Hiller Plumbing is an utter and total rip-off. Call any other cooling and plumbing service in Nashville before you call Hiller. The techs are trained to up sell clients and will do work that you don't request or need. There Freon is overpriced by about $20 per lb and they charge commercial establishments $129 per unit before even touching them. I was very clear that I only needed Freon put in two of our units. That's all I asked for and told the man I spoke with on the phone multiple times to make sure that the techs knew this was all I wanted. I got the bill from Hiller and it was over $800! I'm being billed $800 for a half hour of someone's time and 6lbs of Freon? This is Crazy!!! I advise everyone out there to not make the same mistake that I did and don't use Hiller. They will never get our business again. The next day I found a reputable Nashville service company that charges by the hour and priced Freon at $20 less per pound.

Happy I was not, and my service wasn't free!

With so many local AC repair company options, this company is one of the more expensive ones in the market. If you have time to compare quality and price with other companies, it will be worth it. I was really pleased with my experience with Hiller. They have 24 hr service which is great if you're someone like me who never remembers to call to have her disposal fixed within the 9-5 time span.  They came out the very next day on time with a call before to confirm.  It turns out my disposal was new enough to still be under a manufacturer's warrantee.  He spotted that right away and didn't charge for the trip out to my house although that it part of their pricing.

I will definitely call them if I have any future plumbing issues.

We contacted Hiller to check out our air conditioning before the season began. It is obvious that the service people that work for them are on a commission basis. The service man checked our upstairs and downstairs system and then told us it would be approximately $4200 to make the necessary repairs. I balked at the figure and he said he could give me a much better deal at about $2700. We decided not to have Hiller do anything. I called another reliable service man recommended by a neighbor.  He came out, checked our system completely and told us everything was in perfect shape. We have been operating our heating/air conditioning system for about a year now and we have had zero problems. I would never call Hiller back because I don't trust them.   Beware of service staff that work on a commission basis.  I am not absolutely sure that the Hiller staff work on a commission basis but by virtue of the experience that we had, it sure seems that they do.  Perhaps a good question to ask any service company is just that. Ask if their service people work on a salary plus commission basis also.

I just want to send a thank you note. Thank you for hiring quality individuals. Yesterday, one of your service techs, Brent (#7517), came out to look at my air unit. It is an old unit and he was able to get the heat working. However, he showed me some potential hazards (health and safety) due to the age of the unit. This included holes in the heat exchange. He was professional, friendly, and it really seemed like he cared about the health and safety of my family. Today, I met Bridgett Anderson. She was, by far, the best sales person I have ever encountered. Bridget obviously loves what she does. She Really impressed me with her knowledge and ability to explain everything. She treated me with respect and did not treat me like just another sale. I do not like the idea of spending so much money, but the buying experience was the least painful. I wish every sales/service experience I have for the rest of my life could be this good. I don't have my new unit yet but am already a happy Hiller customer. Thank you.

I've made my final call to this company. My old heat pump started to give me issues this summer. When Hiller came out they told me it was shot & the Freon for it doesn't exist anymore. Next thing I know I'm looking at a $6000 bill for a new unit & ductwork without any explanation as to why the ductwork has to be redone. They also pressured me that the deal I was getting needed to be done that day. I differed & called another company.  They said the Freon for my unit is still available, and will be for a few more years.

A couple hundred dollars later I've got a fully functioning unit, and a thorough explanation of what they did to fix it.  Plus a plan to know how to keep it running as long as possible before replacing it!  I'll never give Hiller another dime.  When I finally need to replace my unit, I'll give roscoe  brown my business just because they aren't predatory salesmen.

I purchased a new heating and A/C system from Hiller in Oct 2013.  I had to call the technicians back one time to fix an oversight, but I was generally satisfied with the service and the system worked fine.

In early May 2014 I scheduled a tuneup for my two A/C systems.  30 minutes prior to their scheduled arrival, Hiller called to cancel my appointment and asked to postpone it for 2 weeks due to high volume of emergencies.  I had already arranged my schedule to be home on this day.  And, now am worried about having my own emergency because I cannot get my units cleaned and serviced.

I have to say, I wish I had researched my husband's decision to call this company from the start but I was trying to be the humble wife who goes along and trusts her husband's decisions. We needed service work done in our home and had all three of their available service technicians checking things in our house. After all the smoke cleared, we have ended up being out $309 and all of the real work that was done was just a minor breaker box issue that was supposed to bring out house up to codes, so the tech said. The only other real work that was done was a light switch in our master bedroom that was replaced. Anything else done was inspections and we did have our A/C unit serviced. All of this took less than 30 minutes to complete and they made over $300 off of us, which included their Hiller club membership fee of $99 that I was convinced to buy to save us money. WHAT A LIE.  You are not getting a great deal with that because really, if you think about it, you are paying for the services they say you are getting a good deal on because of the $99 fee. We are not a rich family, but a working middle-class family who works hard for what they have and don't have gobs of money to throw around. I have lost any respect I had for this company because they simply are rip-off artists who put on a fake act that they care about your needs and go out of their way to be nice to you because they want to see how much money they can get from you. That is their ultimate goal from the time they enter your home. Let's just cut to the chase and be real about things.

I initially called about broken water line between water meter and house.
Plumbing: Telephone appointment process went smoothly. Call ahead from dispatcher to alert customer about technician arrival went well. Technician introduction at beginning of appointment went well.
Following scheduling a plumbing appointment, Hiller called to offer free HVAC tune-up, which I accepted.
HVAC: Call ahead from dispatcher to alert customer about technician arrival went well. Technician introduction at beginning of appointment went well. Technician briefed me several times throughout the visit about his progress and the items he was finding outside normal parameters, some of which I knew about. I declined all recommended services at this time.
Plumbing: Onsite technician called project estimator for quote on replacement of water line. Estimator described proposed work, which I agreed to with appointment for following day. Following day call ahead from dispatcher to alert customer about technician arrival went well. Technician introduction at beginning of appointment went well and I described project as agreed to prior day. Technicians were waiting on underground pipeline marking and I returned inside the house.
Project digging was not as expected with no communication to customer. Metro Codes inspection appears not to have happened. Replaced pipe was not produced for customer inspection. Following repair, technician did not explain what actually was done - he simply indicated he was done, everything was good to go and the office would sending a receipt.
A call to the project estimator led to confirmation of change of proposed work due to ground being drier than expected. Discount from original estimate was processed. It's unknown whether that would have occurred without customer telephone call.
Not necessarily a bad experience and certainly far from a good one.

Hiller technicians are not straightforward folks.  They will lie and try to steer you into buying a new HVAC unit at the first opportunity.  When the sales folks come out, they will try to upsell you to a more expensive unit even the lower efficiency rating means reduced performance.  They must be getting kickbacks from the manufacturers for higher efficiency units due to EPA quotas or something.

The Hiller Club is a joke.  At first, I thought the $99 annual fee would be a great bargain to keep my brand new HVAC setup in tip-top shape.  But every time they came out, they always found new things that we needed.  It's become obvious that they use these visits as an excuse for their technicians to come out and try to upsell you on accessories you don't need.  Every time they come out, the system performance seems to get a little bit worse, too.  Maybe it's a coincidence or a fluke, but I'm beginning to doubt it.

We have spent over $10,000 with Hiller and have had the Hiller Club membership for five years and our house cannot hold a 70° temperature on a sunny 80° day.

The only brand Hiller offers is Ruud.  Ruud is Rheem's second line.  According to Consumer Reports' 2015 Fall Product Reliability Survey of 9,486 owners of heat pumps, Ruud comes in sixth out of ten with a 43% failure rate.  Only Amana (43%), Rheem (44%), Goodman (48%), and York (50%) were worse.  American Standard is #1 at 31% and Trane (which is the brand I requested but Hiller refused to install) is #3 at 37%.  I am now convinced that Hiller specifically sells and installs only Ruud units because they are relatively inexpensive and fail more often than higher quality units.  This means they can cut parts cost while at the same time increasing the number of service calls.

Furthermore, EPA regulations forbid annual refrigerant leak rates in excess of 15%; a single repair attempt is allowed, but if the leak persists, the unit must, be law, be replaced.  So, going with a lower quality unit is guaranteed to generate both future service calls as well as future sales.  It's a win-win-win for Hiller and lose-lose-lose for their customers.

After looking up the model numbers, I found that the MSRP was $2,000 for our heat pump and $1,500 for our air handler.  That means they charged us nearly $8,000 for the installation -- something that took them less than two hours to do.  Highway robbery.

Their technicians also have no experience with modern smart thermostats.

Look elsewhere for your HVAC needs.

Happy you won't be and the service is far from free! Inexperienced techs and plumbers that are pushed to SELL SELL SELL not FIX! Not to mention they are thousands higher on air conditioners and explain that the warranty and expertise of the techs is why they charge what they do. WHAT A JOKE!!!  If you want to be ripped off and pay way more than you should for the radio ads that play every 5 minutes, then give em a call. I have been forced to use them through my landlord and what a nightmare! BEWARE!!!!! 2months later and problems STILL NOT FIXED!

Very disappointed in Hiller. Immediately after our AC tune-up this spring, our AC unit started to inadvertently stop working. We found that the rep never screwed the screen back on right, and the little nobs were even left in the grass. (He arrived way past his window, so we had to leave the house before he had finished).  Today is the first day it didn't eventually kick back in, so we called, explained the situation, and we were informed that Hiller would not take any responsibility, that the earliest they could come out to us is Wednesday (today is Saturday ... seriously?), and we'd have to pay the $89 service call visit. Are you kidding me? So we are now hiring a Hiller competitor to fix Hiller's mess up. Time for Hiller to replace their tagline: Unhappy you'll be and your service will cost even more!

I wouldn't use them. They charge a 69 dollar fee just to look at your unit and I was told that my unit is freezing up but its not really a big deal, and that was why it isn't cooling, then he said that my unit is fine and proceeded to charge me the 69 dollars for showing up. I feel like I got ripped off. I would go with another company that charges a reasonable fee to cover their gas to come look at the potential issues you are having. There are plenty of other companies out there.

I have nothing good to say about this company. Whatever you do, DO NOT JOIN THE HAPPY HILLER CLUB. It is a scam and all they do is take your money. When I joined, I was assured I would be called to schedule the services I was paying for, but NINE months later they have not called once or bothered to render those services. I have been trying to cancel my membership for a month now, yet they are still charging me and keep lying about refunding me for the services I was due. Clearly they have no intention of giving my money back, so hopefully I can save others from the same fate.
As for the service call, I would say it was mediocre at best. We called them for two issues: One issue they didn't even attempt to fix and claimed there was nothing wrong, and the second issue (a faucet) they said needed to be replaced (it didn't) and tried to sell us one for over $800.
Good thing there are lots of plumbers in the Nashville area, because we will NEVER use Hiller again.

We are really disappointed as of lately. I called To have a plumber remove a toilet so we could inspect the flange to see why the toilet would not bolt to the floor. I wanted them to do it so that I wouldn't cause any problems. So... the plumber forgot to turn off the water shutoff at the toilet and water was hitting the ceiling in the bathroom! He said sorry, he forgot. Well, I paid $230 for him to do exactly what I wanted to avoid.

To make things worse, he indicated that the floor needed to be demo'd so they could cut a 3'x3' section out of our slab foundation so they could replace the flange. The total for this quote was about $2,500 not including the tile demo or replacement.

We ended up buying a flange extension to fix the problem and spent about $100.

The second item was I was told we needed to replace the fan and motor in our ac unit a d the quote was $911. We ended up just replacing the motor through a independent contractor for $380.

We have a service plan with Them and will not renew. This was a blatant case of trying to screw over the customer.

We just bought a house that has 4 bathrooms. The condo is being turned into a rental and I told Hillers that I wanted to fix the problems at the bare minimum so we could put the money into buying new toilets at the new house. They totally ruined my trust and also ruined their chances at servicing a 3,000 sqft house in Brandywine Farms. I want my money back.

I was very disappointed  and really angry  that I had trusted this company without hesitation. I had sighed up for the cleaning of my air conditioning unit in summer and heat in winter. I called and they came over to clean air unit. Around 2-3 weeks later my unit  stopped cooling. I call another company and he came in and said the unit needed cleaning. I couldn't believe it so I had to see for myself. Yes it  WAS  very dirty and they said there was no way they could have cleaned the unit and get that  dirty that quickly.   Bottom line...If  you have a cleaning contract with this company. Go watch them clean it yourself..No trusting these guys, They lost me as a customer .

I couldn't have asked for more prompt and efficient service. I had house guests coming in and my AC was frozen. I called on Saturday afternoon and had someone at my door on Sunday morning 8am. It turned out it was a relay for the fan. I was provided options to fixing it, didn't get a chance to see if pricing was standard market value but at least I was given at least 2 different options for the repair. I see many reviews that are not as positive and I have no reason to give less than 100% satisfaction.

Will NEVER use this company again. I had not had my AC serviced in awhile so I decided to use the free checkup they offer. So they scheduled me on a Saturday. Keep in mind nothing is wrong with my unit just want a check up. Well the guy came out, checked the unit cleaned the coils outside (part of the free checkup at no cost) and said I was low on freon, and a capacitor was weak and could fail at anytime. So to make a long story short the freon and the capacitor came to a total of $311.00, looking back I should have questioned the cost however I know very little about AC parts. After the guy left I kept thinking that sounded awful high so I looked the part up online and could have bought the capacitor for $7.00. So for 7 bucks and a little freon for $311.00. I called the customer service about this and they said the price was so high because they had the part on the truck readily available and this was on a weekend so service is higher. The whole time this was suppose to be just a free checkup that they scheduled not me. I will NOT use Hiller ever again and will discourage anyone from doing so, every time I see this smiley face truck in my neighborhood i cringe because I know they are probably ripping someone else off. A word of advice before any work is performed if you have cell phone or internet handy look the part up and see what the price actually is not the price they say it is worth just for having it on the truck, for crying out loud you are an AC repair company, you are suppose to have parts needed for service I would also suggest keeping any part they replace and take that part to someone else to test, just to keep them honest. I really believe if this company comes to your house they will find something wrong to justify the trip out.

On May 13 2014 I had an appt. to meet a Hiller plumber at my sisters house in White House Tn. He arrived on time and was a clean cut young man. Too bad he wasn't a good plumber. I explained to him she was having a low water pressure issue and needed 2 new outside hydrants. He went under the house for a few minutes and then came in to give the estimate. He said the hydrants would be 249.00 and he would bypass the pressure regulator valve because the pressure delivered by the water company was so low and the total would be 497.00. I said ok do the work. It took about 30 minutes to replace the hydrants then 3 hours later he emerged to say he could not fix the pressure. That was the main reason for the call then he pulled out his tablet and said 497.00. I told him since he didn't fix it I am not suppose to pay and he told me that was for the hydrant and no charge for the other. But you said 249.00 for the hydrants. He said that was each then the argument was on after calls from the office allI got was The worker sets the price I eventually got a manager to knock off 100.00 bringing the total to 397.00 for 1/2 hour of work. But wait today someone called to see if I was happy with the service. When I said no she hung up on me prompting me to write this review.

My review of Happy Hiller as a new customer.  It is that time of the year when we were needing to get our HVAC unit serviced.  Kind of new to the area and not having an HVAC serviced here before we reached out to Happy Hiller.  I had read mixed reviews so we thought we would give them a try.  They were very booked up so we scheduled 2-3 weeks ahead for an appointment between 8-10 AM. We received a call just after  9 AM the technician was on his way.

Now it is 11:50 AM that morning, almost noon, and 2 hours and 45 minutes after we received the call stating he was on his way.  We have not heard from anyone and not seen anyone.  We really need to be leaving soon so we call Hiller.  I get a rep on the phone who looks into the issue.  The rep states that they tried to call us at 9:10 AM and again left a voice mail at 9:15 AM to reschedule.  First off, I was just called a few minutes prior to that stating the technician was on his way.  I received absolutely no call after that.  No call stating they were running late, no call to reschedule.  I asked what number they called and left the voice mail.  They provided my number.  Ok, I received their call after 9 AM.  First off, why would you say he is on his way then secondly, call back later to reschedule.  I didn't believe any of it.  The call rep seemed to get very irritated towards me and was very short with me.  She was less than friendly at that point.  I was very nice to her, not upset, very calm tone, just wanting to find out what is going on.  I stated if he isn't on his way then I would like to just cancel the appointment.  She reached out to him and placed me on hold.  When she came back he was going to be here in 10 minutes.  That was fine.  I said that was fine and thanked her.

He arrived in 10 minutes.  He was, I guess you can call it, professionally nice, but not personally. He didn't seem very happy but wasn't rude.  He first asked me if I was interested in the Happy Hiller Club.  At that point I would think about it, this experience isn't going great at all I am thinking.  This is more than 3 hours after I was told he was going to be here.  Yes I was waiting 3 hours from the I am on my way call and 2 hours late with no, I'm sorry I am late.  Technician acted like nothing was wrong.

Techician went to work on the HVAC.  Came back and was talking about a part that needs to be replaced and kind of quickly went thought what he found.  Stated he could replace the part.  It would cost $199 for him to do it and $6 for the part.  I asked him what was all included in the $199.  He seemed to get very agitated when I asked him.  He said Well it is for me being here, my time,  Ok is this where the Happy Hiller True Tranparency Pricing comes in?  The least I would have expected, since I never got an I am sorry I was late or 'I was backed up (which he stated he wasn't backed up), would have at least offered a discount for the repair or something for the huge inconvenience.  I only say that because I have worked in customer service for more many years and if you make a mistake, you want to make it right for the customer.  You want the customer to have the best experience possible.  No one tried to make anything right here.

I asked the technician if I can have a copy of what was done.  He stated they do not provide copies of the work that was done.  He never told me what he did even when I asked.  Kind of avoided the question.  Just told me what needed replaced.  There is no Transparency here.

Would I just Happy Hiller again?  Based on this experience no.  Would I recommend?  Based on this experience no.  No notification of being late, no appologizes for the inconvenience.  Phone reps very infriendly when you simply just want to find out what is going on when someone is almost 2 hours late.  Unprofessional customer support and a company not willing to make things right for the customer when they know they are in the wrong.  There were no phone calls or voice mails to reschedule.  They never tried to reach me to notify me that they were going to be 2 hours late.

I called this company because I on occasion would continue to smell the odor of sewer in my home. They sent a representative out to my home who crawled under my house to explore what could be causing the smell. She came back out 5 minutes later and said she didn't find anything. She gave me bottle of drano cleaner and charged me a ridiculous service charge and said to call back if the problem continues then they would have to do some kind of experiment which would cost hundreds of dollars to find out what the problem is.  After a couple of months of using the product and it not working,  I decided to call another plumbing company for a second review. They were able to find the problem immediately and fixed the issue for a reasonable price.  I will never call this company again and I do not recommend them.

About 7 years ago I had a maintenance package with Hiller which was great because they called to remind me of the timely fall and spring servicing of my a/c unit and checking on my plumbing. After the initial assessment it was determined that my a/c unit was near the end of it's life and would need replacement. The total replacement would be around $5000 to which I stated that I wanted to get additional quotes. In the meantime I received another quote and they stated that the a/c was fine and should operate for another few years. Believing this was just an oversight on Hiller's part I continued my maintenance package.

About 2 years ago, the a/c quit working completely. I called Hiller and the phone tech stated it would be at least one week before anyone would be out to look at the unit. I reminded her that I had a maintenance agreement and had been a customer for almost 3 years. She could have cared less. So I called another local company and they were able to come out and fix the a/c unit the next day.

Being a glutton for punishment I decided to continue on with Hiller since I had a long-lasting relationship with them. One of my properties contacted me to let me know that the water heater had burst and was spewing water. I contacted Hiller and the technician stated that it would be 2 days before anyone could come out. I asked if my maintenance package meant anything and she stated no. I told her that I would not continue my membership with Hiller and would look for some other company and she stated, okay, sorry. I called Roto Rooter and they responded immediately.

I will say that I am extremely disappointed that a company that I have spent so many years with has let me down on more than one occasion, and they simply do not care in an emergency. They may do well on planned jobs but when you need them asap, forget it. I also question their integrity when it comes to replacing a/c units as they told me it had to be replaced and after 7 years the a/c is still working fine.

I will NEVER use Hiller again.

I will never, ever even remotely consider using Hiller again.  Contacted Hiller a few weeks ago to correct a slow flowing sink faucet.  Rep came out and long story short, we were talked in to replacing all of the piping in our house.  Fine, not ideal, but fine.  The crew shows up 4 hours late, then work until 10 pm that night because we want to get the job done for you.  That would've been fine, if they had shown up on time, but 4 hours late was ridiculous.  At about 8 PM, we hear water gushing from the walls.  Turns out that our experienced, professional crew left connections un-connected and turned the water back on.  Fantastic!  About a week later someone shows up to repair the drywall.  Fast forward to a few days ago.  I check our utility bill and our water usage has skyrocketed, we average 3-5CFM per month, last month was at 77.  Called Hiller to come back out to find out what's going on.  The connection that they made to the old supply line has failed.  They say it's not their fault, and it was to be expected.  It was never, EVER brought to our attention that this could possibly be an issue.  We paid to have all the piping replaced and silly us, the consumer, the laymen, assumed that this company would replace what piping needed to be replaced.  They charged us a fee to come back out to review THEIR work and charged us full price for work that could have and should have been done the first time.  This company is a joke and I will make every effort to share my negative experience.  I would NOT use Hiller again.

The first person to come was able to do the work on our cracked pipe that fed into  the meter box.  It was late so they decided to come back the next day to make sure the work was completed.  That person came and said the fix was complete. Then, we noticed that there was still a hole exposing the water line. The company had not filled back in the large hole on both of the first two visits. I called in to request that they come fill the hole and complete the job and had to wait over 30 min to speak with someone. I asked to speak with a manager to see if a discount would be applied for a job not completed. I was told that this was Not a discount event.. The third person came out, finally completed the job.   I would have expected a better work product from Hiller.

I called Hiller at 8:00pm on a Saturday night to report an ecobee thermostat that lost power. No A/C...dead. They were friendly on the phone and made an appointment for a technician to be at our house between 8:00 - 10:00 am the following day; it was a Sunday morning and, lo and behold, the technician [Chris] showed up. Within 15 minutes he had the problem fixed and charged us just for the service call. He even stayed for a few minutes for some friendly chat. Thank you, Hiller. Highly recommended.

Had an appt for between 8-10 and the guy showed up at 1.  Considering I took half a day off from work, which ended up becoming a full day (the guy took 2.5 hrs to check out my A/C system which is only 3 years old), I wasn't very pleased. Hiller called once to say the guy was running late, but I didn't expect him to be three hours late.
