OK, my story.  I was thinking of installing solar in early 2022, after learning NEM 3.0 in California would be delayed indefinitely.  I started my journey with energysage.com, and got quotes from 6 local installers, including Mega Power Electric Inc.  I've also reached out to SunPower, and left my contact at Sunrun in Costco.  I finally decided to work with Mega Power for these reasons: 1. many positive reviews; 2. their price is very competitive; 3. I work directly with the owner German (Gary), who actually does the job.  No sales; no project managers.  While those sales people are nice and professional, the process is just as as efficient as talking directly with Gary.  Mega Power does everything very fast.  Gary came to our house and took some pictures; went back and shared his initial plan; we wanted two additional panels; Gary revised the plan (within 24 hours).  One or two weeks later, Gary and his people were on my roof.  Installation of 24 panels was done within one day.  City inspector initially had questions about the ground wire.  Gary and his team came back another time, and finished #4 ground wire upgrade within a couple of hours.  Passed city inspection.  Getting approvals from PG&E (final step) was a long story.  Gary and Mega Power did whatever they could to help and I appreciate that.  Overall experience with Mega Power was quite positive.  Definitely recommend Mega Power for their efficiency, work quality, and communication.  Additional data points I would like to share: while Gary and his team worked on installation, I was busy filing complaints with another company for their no show activity in the very first scheduled meeting. Oh, my wife and I already recommended Mega Power to another lady.  I probably should collect some referral fee from Gary.

You won't find a more honest, diligent electrician anywhere. He and his son, Joey have fixed several of our electrical problems over the years, always promptly, always smiling, always getting it right and beyond reasonable in his pricing. The only reason I wouldn't recommend him is so he doesn't get too busy to fix our future problems. He's a gem.

After getting several extremely high prices for the installation of solar, a friend recommended Danny at ML Solar. We were shocked at the difference in price. Danny was very helpful throughout the process and definitely delivered on the lower-priced system.  We had some minor communication issues which were likely due to them being very busy, but even these were minor. The engineers provided professionally drawn plans that made the permit process a smooth one which we loved. We've had one minor arc fault since the install. After checking for any possible electrical problems and determining the system was fine, we were able to contact the manufacturer and the fault code was cleared so we are back up and running.
