Lewis and Bryan are AMAZING! Our house was broken from mold remediation and it looked like one of those jobs that would go on forever -but in no time at all, they got everything even better than before!
Flexible, reasonable and smart! Perfect handymen!

We were doing an inspection on our home and needed the sewer line scoped to ensure the cast iron was in good shape. I called to get a few quotes and Efficient AC was $25 more affordable than others but had better reviews so I decided to try them. I didn't realize they were going to make a video of the lines and send it to me. That was an added bonus! The person I worked with, was extremely professional, very nice, and answered all my questions. I had to call customer service a couple times ahead of the appointment to make changes to the time and they were always very warm and inviting to chat with. Overall, I was very impressed and would definitely call them for any future plumbing needs. Oh and added bonus, they are active on Yelp so you can talk to someone for a quote right within the interface.

Danny was the right handyman for my job! After my dishwasher died I was desperate to replace it. I needed a problem solver who could figure out how to take the old dishwasher out (that had been tiled up to) while saving my granite countertops. Danny cut the tile in front of my dishwasher to get the dead dishwasher out and install the new one. While doing the install he found a rat's nest in the open lath. EEK! At my request, he was happy to clean it out and wall up the whole underneath of my kitchen sink to prevent it from happening again. He is very solution oriented and doesn't give up easily. If you need someone who's up for a challenge, Danny is your guy!

Most Expensive Solution Imaginable: I said No Thanks.
Our problem was a washer drain hose line that had backed up, causing water to spill back into our laundry room annex every time we washed a load. I called 1st plumbing and they showed up as scheduled. The young man was very polite and very nice. We went under the house and looked at the lines. I wrongly thought that something needed replacing and he suggested a whole new line with PVC replacing the galvanized with a new p-trap and getting rid of the old cast iron one. That sounded great to me, if a bit overkill. I just wanted to know how much. After he retired to the van to consult with his boss, he came back with an estimate of $970! That was parts and labor (two people at a total of $180 an hour). My calculator says that $180 x 4= 720. $970-$720=$250 for around 20 feet of PVC and a few couplings. Retail on that is around $40. Now, the labor charge of $180 per hour is stratospheric to begin with, but then to tack on a couple hundred dollars for parts. Wow.
I said thanks but not thanks, paid them $35 for the call--a bargain if you know how to use the word no, and hightailed it to Harbor Freight. There I bought a big ass pipe wrench (24 inch baby) for around $13. I came back, got the vertical drain pipe off. Then I used a hand snake I had around to get to the clog--I watched a great and disgusting YouTube video on how to use it. Well worth the 15 minutes. After seemingly breaking through some minor clog, I pulled the snake back out, cleaned the threads of the pipe and the coupling, used Teflon tape to seal the deal and joined them back together. I stuck the drain hose back in and started a load. Long story short: success! Around 90 minutes, $30 if you count the hand snake I had lying around, and that was that. My savings, $940. Now, if they had said $500, I would have gone for it. $970 was outrageous. It seemed to me that the business model here is to offer the most expensive solution possible hoping for some sucker to say yes. It's worth the $35 risk for them to do that, especially when they charge $180 for labor. This one's an easy call. Go elsewhere!

SALT sent a technician who installed a single plug and on/off switch (connected to another plug about 12 inches away). He was very nice and professional and did a good job. However, we were shocked when he finished (in about an hour) and said that the cost would be $689! We knew there was a $79 'show up' fee (fair) and that it would likely cost $200 or so......but how they justify over $500 for a fairly simple task is beyond me. We did go ahead because I had two other technicians already booked that afternoon who needed the electrical outlets to be in place. But...I will NEVER use this service again. I have talked with several electricians in our area who were similarly surprised by the fee.

The technician arrived on time and was someone (José) who has been to our home 2 other times, which I really appreciated. I have always been very happy with his work and he explained what he was doing and always with a friendly attitude. Very reliable and polite.
