It appears that the problem was fixed.  It would have helped to know they were charging $268 per hour ahead of time... we told them the main drain was causing a backup in the basement.  Why should I pay for the tech to try two smaller snake drains before he finally brought in the larger snake drain in?  It seemed like padding the bill and then trying to sell additional things... I suppose it is normal to have to clean up the mess left afterwards; which was worse then when he started.  But at least it was fixed?

Since moving to the Delaware area five years ago, I have had five experiences with Amanda Plumbing, three of which were emergency call-outs. In each case, their rep arrived quickly - most recently, within ten minutes! - was very thorough, totally professional, and cleaned up everything before leaving. Each one explained what was needed before proceeding, and showed me the completed work. In every case, I was pleasantly surprised with my bill; not cheap, but very reasonable; even more so for the after-hours call. I would recommend Amanda for all your plumbing needs.

They came out to identify a leak, which they did.  They could come back the next day to fix which was great. However once they fixed leak, an other leak sprung. They wanted to charge me an additional $1300, on top of the $2500 I had already agreed to pay. They then told us the entire line needed to be replaced because if they fixed the one spot it would continue happening. My husband wanted to try to fix since it was a $2.50 part. I had 3 other plumbers out to quote replacing the line, they all said the same thing, the line didn't need replaced, but when American leak detection made fix and turned water back on, they broke the line by not opening up the faucets to let the air out. All the plumbers that came out were horrified that this company didn't admit to and fix the break in line. Now I have asked twice for someone to return my calls and as of the time of writing this review no one has called me back. It wasn't until I called from a friends phone that they answered, where the owner tried to insinuate that I was lying about his guys not bleeding the line. I was standing right over them when they turned the water on and no one ever asked me if the faucets were open. He also tried to tell me the regulations for a county that we are not in to again tell me the pipe I have in the ground is not correct. He refused to refund or credit me for an incomplete job and also couldn't confirm that they didn't just reuse a compression fitting that I already had and charged me for a new one. Very unethical company and I would never recommend using them! Customer service after logging concerns was not dealt with the way a reputable company would handle.
