Best Wiring Repair in Minneapolis MN
This was a good experience. The guy who came (Joe) was really a super guy and he did a good job. Cleaned up after himself and explained everything he did. I need a reliable plumber in the rolodex and I will call this company again. The price seemed fair for the work he did and better quote than I got somewhere else.

We had a broken bathroom extractor fan that rendered our main bathroom totally unusable. My wife tried to extract it and midway through discovered, to our despair, that the fan wasn't extractable with the tools and leverage we had. Folks here were SUPER nice, came same day so we could shower on ZERO notice, and were extremely fair in their pricing. It was a tight squeeze and a mess, and they saved our asses--we are so grateful.

It's pretty rare that I give a one star review.
We just moved into a new house with an older thermostat. We wanted to replace it with our Nest thermostat, which we've had and used in many homes. My husband was unable to install because we needed to do some re-wiring. Per Nest website, this company is a recommended installer.
I called them up and spoke with Michelle. I told her what I needed and also, we would like to do a HVAC maintenance plan. She proceeded to go through the plans, also going into great detail about an electrical plan and a plumbing plan (neither of which I was interested in). It was a pretty long pitch. She said she'd email me all of the details so I can choose my plan.
Back to the Nest install...I explained we only had 4 wires and needed 5. I even pulled the current thermostat off the wall and we discussed what I saw. She said it was a $110 service fee plus $79 install fee. I agreed and we scheduled the appointment for today (7/5/19) between 12-5.
At 7:45 am, I get a call that Brian is on his way. Huh? I am 100% positive my appointment was 12-5, because I have small children and avoid early appointments as much as possible. So not a good start.
Brian shows up, introduces himself and immediately tells me one of our outside lights was broken and he could fix it while he was here. Then he went into a pitch about all of the things he can fix and install; redoing our recessed lighting etc. I just want my Nest installed. So he went down to the basement to checkout the furnace and electrical panel.
He explains we need to add a wire. He tells us we can buy one ourselves to save money. He does have one in his truck though. But for some reason, he was unable to install the Nest today. I tell him I'm confused because that was the reason for the appointment: install the Nest. He goes back to the fact we need another wire. I explain that I know that, I told Michelle that when I called to make the appointment. Brian stated no, this was an appointment for the estimate. What?! Oh, and that will be $110. Plus another service fee for when he comes back to do the actual install.
He should have been aware of what was needed for the install, as I explained when I first called. He had the wires in his truck. But he can't install. What a scam. We argue out the $110. I agreed Michelle told me about it, but I thought the service fee covered a provided service, not an estimate. I've never paid someone to give me an estimate.
He continued his sales pitch as he was walking out.
Yeah, I will not be calling them again. They're more interested in how much money they can scam you out of, than providing the customer with honest, reliable service.

Buyers beware! Make sure you get a second opinion if they want you to spend a lot of money.
At the beginning of 2017 they came out to fix my furnace. They ended up red tagging it claiming there was a gas leak. They also said that I needed to replace my air conditioner after it was not working properly. I got a second opinion: my furnace just needed a minor repair and my air-conditioner basically had a screw loose. Over one year later both are going strong.
I was part of their monthly service club and as soon as my contract expired with them I terminated it and will never use this company again.

I was surprised to see all the negative reviews for Dean's. We signed up for their membership this year and have had pretty good experiences with all of their technicians who have been thorough in their inspections of our furnace (Brandon), plumbing (Matthew), and AC (Adam) systems. They have provided detailed photo and written documentation of their inspections and explained everything clearly without being pushy at all about other services that they could offer. We are scheduling a duct cleaning with them for later this month. I do wish that their service windows were tighter (rather than 8am-6pm) but they do a decent job of calling beforehand to give a half hour heads up so I can still get my errands done during the day.

The AC maintenance cost is very reasonable. Scheduling is convenient and they communicate well. I thought my technician was friendly and knowledgeable. I did get the vibe they are there to diagnose bigger issues and recommend more of their services (at escalated pricing). It felt very sales-y and I'm not sure how much maintenance was actually done. I don't blame the tech, he's just doing his job but I didn't entirely trust everything I was being sold on. As one example, he quoted me $1000 to have my air ducts cleaned. I live in an 1100 square foot house so this price was insane to me. I had two other reputable companies since give me a quote and both were around $300 for the whole house plus my dryer vent. I don't like being taken advantage of.
