So who do you call when your AC goes out in 90deg weather on the weekend and looking forward to elevated temperatures all week? Everyone! Anyone who will come! Who could come the same day? Actually within an hour? Stallion! (JG has been rebranded - confused the heck out of me since I called them from Yelp)
Communication was great. Nobody answered when I first called but they called me back within 15 minutes and set me up with a technician. I was texted the technicians name and photo and he showed up wearing a branded uniform - very comforting knowing you have the right person at the door. Declan was pleasant and knowledgeable. He quickly identified that my system was frozen over, did what he could, then told me to leave everything off to thaw and set up another technician to come out the next day for the actual assessment (you can't do much to a block of ice).
Jordan came just after 8am (both technicians showed up at the start of the time block I was given) and had the assessment complete and options for action ready for us within the hour. He provided different tiers of pricing for different options and also the option to look at replacement (our system is 18 years old). He completed the work we selected in an hour and our AC has been running since. We're so happy to be back up and comfortable!

One of the worst plumbers I've ever met. To be honest, I have regrets. I regret why I chose this company. This is a very bad company. When he (Jake O technical.) came to our condo building, our building engineer also came. He tried not to do anything. Our building manager also said he didn't understand his behavior. Also, when I heard him refer to instant glue as pvc cement glue, it was evident that he lacked the skills. And, he didn't even try to find the cause. In the end, without even finding the cause, it just went away. I paid $299 just for visiting here. This company is cleverly defrauding.

I purchased a heat pump unit from this company for $11,500! I was told I would have a 12 year warranty for parts and labor as long as I purchased their annual inspection for $200 a year. I did that until the pandemic hit.
Recently, I had them come out for the annual inspection and I was told my labor warranty was void unless I paid them an additional $460! I refused and now I have no labor warranty 5 years into the purchase.
I think they could have been more understanding of the fact that I had my 90 year old mother living with me and I was protecting her from getting the virus. There were issues with the install and I continued to have issues with an outside temperature  probe that they refused to replace.
I would never recommend this company because they are money grubbers and disloyal.

I was charged $299.00 for a part that is available online for $15.00. I was told that the $284.00 was for labor, even though it literally took less than five minutes and the technician was there as part of a service plan.

The part in question is a Supco FLS301 flame sensor

I ask Giannone to come to check a running toilet and a kitchen faucet that was stuck in place. The plumber who came barely looked at my faucet and decided I needed a new one as well as new cut off valves. The only faucet they would install is a Wolverine and only provided by them.Total estimate was above $1000. At no point did they say I had to get a faucet provided by them. It was the same thing for the toilet: I needed a new one.
He did not have anything on his truck to fix anything! This company has dishonest practices in not telling upfront that you need to buy their very expensive supplies! Btw, I hired another plumber who told me that my cut off valves were fine!

Used this company 2 times now- one for air conditioning fix and one for plumbing. Both times, they were very reliable, fit me in same day! I also appreciate how communicative they are with calling before they come and email sent with profile of the technician on the way. Jourdan was the technician today to replace our water heater and he was very respectful to my property, friendly, and honest. I will continue to use a good company with great service technicians.

This company is ripping off people! Do not use them. We paid $178 for tuning up our HVAC cooling and heating system. The guy came out and did nothing but changing a filter. He just check a few things and then recommended us to pay addition money to fix a couple of thing and do some cleaning. He wanted $898 for cleaning the coil. It is not a joke. He is ripping people off. Please see his quote below. I changed it from 1 star to 3 stars because the owner called and explained it was a mistake. He refunded $89. I would like to keep the review on to warn others.

I'm willing to be a bit flexible with timing given everything going on, but this just got absurd. I called to schedule tuneups back in October 2020. I got first available for each with the heater tuneup in late November the AC tuneup in March. They were each rescheduled and pushed out multiple times until I finally got the heater tuneup in March. They just called to reschedule the AC tuneup to August and enough is enough.

I would recommend going with someone smaller or who can commit to their timelines.

Oh wow!...Giannone Plumbing...they came to my house in August to repair the drain under my sink. It began leaking again. I have a warranty. I figured they would come out to repair it because it is still under the warranty. I come to find out that they didn't replace the tailpiece that connects to the sink. Why would they attach a new trap to a very old tailpiece? The said, It's $90 to come out again and I would be charged again for the repair. The bill was so expensive I almost had to sell a kidney. I told them I was posting this on social media. It was obvious that she really didn't care.

Actual scam artists. Came out and took $150 to diagnose the problem. The repair man quoted my husband 30 THOUSAND dollars for a new water heater. Yes, you read that correctly. We tried to follow up to understand what was actually needed and confirm appropriate repairs and no one even followed up with us. They were happy to just take the $150 and had no intention of providing any heating services.

Two years ago I gave them a good review.  Since then, I've invited them back to service my AC.  The second to the last visit the technician laughed when he read on his ticket not to sell us anything because every time they come you can expect a large estimate of items needing repair.

Last month we called them to repair/replace a thermostat. While the technician was here, my wife became visibly ill in front of the guy and left our 18 year old daughter to help him.  Well the bill came out to $475. When I got home and asked for the invoice my daughter gave me a brochure he left for a warranty.  Turns out the technician convinced my daughter to buy a $200 service plan on a $275 thermostat.  I was outraged and after a few calls was able to get a refund of $144 after they removed the 20% discount on parts provided on this service plan. I'm done with them.

I needed an estimate on replacing a broken heater, along with a written diagnostic on what exactly was wrong with it. I was told that wasn't an issue, as long as I pay $89 for the visit.

They showed up some time later, told me the heater was broken (I clearly already knew that) and gave me a ridiculously expensive estimate for replacing it. When I asked about the diagnostic in writing they said they don't write anything down. After going back and forth with what I was promised over the phone and what I was actually getting I managed to get them write the diagnostic. I was ready to pay the $89 when they told me I wasn't getting any receipts from them either. I thought that was outrageous, so I asked them to leave. They called the office and it turned out there was a way for them to email me my receipt. I paid. The nightmare was over until they started sending us junk mail. I spent 30 minutes on the phone waiting for them to pick up just to be told that they can't help me with taking me off their mailing list.

I would not recommend them to anyone and regret using their services to begin with.

If zero stars were possible, that's what I would give them. We called on a Thursday morning because our heat stopped working. They said we would go on their emergency repair list and would be out to fix it that day or the next. We call the next day, Friday morning, and ask where we are in line, and they said they can't tell us. They don't have a copy of the list and they won't share that information. What is this, classified information from the Pentagon?? Low and behold, they call us back an hour later and say we're 25th in line. If you can't fit us in, then just tell me and don't waste my time. I wrote this review so now you don't have to waste yours.

I have been a customer for going on 15 years. Every single technician I've met has been professional, showed up on time, knowledgeable and ready to get the job done on the spot. They use technology smartly and although they are expensive they are worth it because I know that the job gets done right the first time. I am willing to pay a little more for peace of mind.  The ladies in the office are on their game. Nick and Brendan are rock stars. I recommend you buy their contract which gives you a 20% discount on all services.

The only good thing about this outfit is that they were attentive, actually returned my call and came to my house promptly.
Unfortunately, I only had a very minor issue (toilet ran sometimes), and they charged me almost $700.  Outrageously expensive, would never use them again.

This company is a rip off, Scheduler Peggy was nice, repairman was ok, but their charges were rediculous.  I have no idea how I was charged or what I paid for but was charged about $750  labor on a $250 part ( retail) for an hour labor which was 45 min of him testing my system and 15 min (if that) removing and replacing part. Before he came out Peggy was told what the problem was and should have had the part on the truck as the technician stated he worked on these units all the time. Instead we had to wait for a driver to deliver it.  STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU HAVE MONEY TO BURN. I supposedly have a repair contract and have no idea what is in it. As nothing was given to me in writing except an inspection report I didnt ask for or need.  They should have minus stars on this app!!

Fantastic service, super knowledgeable workers, but the prices are a bit absurd.

I had a relatively small project for our new house. It wasn't an emergency, but we wanted to get it done before it became an issue. I called dozens of plumbing places, most of which did not return messages, wouldn't come out to our row house due to parking, or were booked/unavailable for weeks even months. I will say JG is one of the most prompt companies in terms of response time, information, help, and service (which I guess is why they can charge so much).

But for the overall work, I feel like we didn't get our money's-worth. Two corroded valves replaced should not cost $400 (especially because I was providing the hoses). The gentleman was prompt, helpful and cleaned up after the fix, but for that amount of money, it seems like I should have received gold piping.

I guess they can charge and arm and a leg knowing good plumbing services in Philadelphia are hard to find.

My impression of Joseph Giannone Plumbing is excellent all around.

I called initially after I received a coupon in the mail for them, and saw they had good reviews here and on Facebook. The person I scheduled the call with was friendly and took her time with me - I didn't feel rushed at all.

I received a call from the technician about 20 minutes before he arrived. He arrived on time and wore shoe covers over his boots so that he didn't track dirt through the house. After he completed the maintenance on my heater, he sat with me to explain what he found and the different options I had moving forward. Even though he recommended replacing two parts, and he was willing to do the repairs that day, I felt no pressure from him to have it done immediately. When it came time to settle the bill, he was able to use an ipad to process a credit card payment from my living room. The professionalism here is top notch.

Following the appointment, I received a phone call from the company asking about my satisfaction. This really is a gem of a company.

These guys aren't the cheapest, but their installers and technicians are top-quality. I had them install a brand new Heating and Air Conditioning Unit two years ago, since ours broke and it was freezing cold. The salesman said that the installers wouldn't leave until we had heat. He was right about that! They worked from 7am to 11pm, and wasted no time. We went to bed that night with heat, and our system has been working perfectly ever since.

Their service plan is a cost-effective way to have their techs come out twice a year to check on the system. All the techs have been friendly, worn boot covers, and arrived in their time window. I wish the window was a little narrower than 4 hours, though.

Overall, I'd recommend them for Heating and Air Conditioning, provided you are comfortable that they aren't going to be the cheapest option.

Nick was prompt, courteous, professional and VERY knowledgeable. He explained what was wrong with the previous installation of my high-efficiency boiler and what was needed to make it right - basically a re-install. The price was reasonable given the extent of the work, and he did it in a day, within a week of the first visit. He was friendly, great with my dog, and made a point of cleaning up the work area. I would definitely recommend this company!

I would not go back to Gianonne HVAC. I was a customer of theirs for several years. Recently my 11 year old TRANE AC condenser stopped working. Gianonne were slow responding to me so I reached out to a different company. Their technician found that the condenser had been filled with twice as much freon as it should have had, which raised the system working temperature. Gianonne was responsible for this. Then he smelled gas in my furnace closet. I called out the PGW technician who found that a gas pipe connection HAD NEVER BEEN TIGHTENED. Gianonne had previously installed a new water heater and their technician had forgotten  to tighten the connection.

Be very wary of this company.  They are very much into replacing everything and fixing nothing.  The techs are extremely nice and that's all I can say.  They use hard pressure scare tactics to get you to buy a new unit.  Even if your other units are not broken, they insist they should be replaced.  They tried to come out to get back on the roof stating they had to replace a part from our brand new unit.  When I called, they couldn't give me a straight answer.  I called the AC manufacturer and they said there were no recalls.  The unit is fine.  I do not trust this company.  For months they have been calling and badgering me to get on the roof telling me a part must be updated or they will not guarantee the unit.  Rubbish!  Will never use them again.

I had used Joseph Giannone's service for maintenance of our heater in the past, but recently I encountered some really poor customer service. When our heater broke during the very cold days of the winter, Joseph Giannone came out on the same day (which was very much appreciated) to assess the problem. They detected the issue and ordered the new part (more than $1,000) to be replaced which was scheduled to be installed the next day. The tech was very friendly and arrived on time. Unfortunately, during the cold weather, the tech had been working long hours, so he arrived at 7pm (as scheduled) to install the new part, but then accidentally broke the new part. It was a holiday weekend, so the part couldn't even be ordered for another 3 days. I understand that accidents happen, but the situation was handled without any consideration for me and my family (which included a 3 month old baby). The company should have offered at least a night in a hotel/airbnb or some reimbursement from the service. Instead, I had to call the company, request a call back from manager/owner and his only response was Sorry, but I'm only going to make a $91 profit on your service.. That said, I had to argue my way to get any reimbursement at all.

2 month update: Our heat broke again. So I called a different HVAC company (because let's be honest, why would I call the same company who had poor customer service?) to take a look. They told me that the new part that was just installed, broke. So of course, I had to call Joseph Giannone because a new part should lasts more than 2 months - and while I was at it, I inquired about that reimbursement I was promised. After I spoke with Peggy, who was very nice and responsive, they scheduled an appointment to come back to take a look at the part. However, 1 day later,  they cancelled the appointment and told me that because another company came to my house, they would not be ordering a new part or coming to take a look. They don't know what that company could have done to the new part. To try to compensate they did reimburse us an extra $100 on top of the $89 (but doesn't even touch the $1000 we paid for the part/service) but the worst part was that they were completely unapologetic about the broken part.

I will not be using this company ever again.

I'm really happy with the quick and awesome service they provide. I called to schedule a tuned up service for my AC and heater, they are able to schedule for the next day. That's a plus:) My technician, Rubin Espinoza, super nice and professional. He called me 20 minutes prior on arrival , when he showed up, he was very informative and explained to me what he was doing and what the problem  was. I feel like I need to spread the word for him, cool guy to deal with, very honest and the most important thing is he knows what he's doing:)

I'm very pleased with the level of service that I've received from Joseph Giannone Plumbing & Heating.

My heater stopped working on one of the coldest days this year. I tried contacting 2 other HVAC companies (including a major company who sponsors the Phillies, but doesn't do work in Philadelphia!) and neither could come on that short of notice. John from Joseph Giannone was dispatched to my house within hours, however.

John was a thoughtful, friendly and honest man. He'd have to be honest having spent a few hours looking at our furnace on the roof in below freezing temperature!

We were given 3 different action plans at graduated pricing levels and while not all the parts were available immediately, our heating system was set to a level where we could sleep at night in a warm house.

John came back the next week and completed all the work. They took a stressful situation and made it manageable.

One last note, I appreciate the little touches of this organization:

* They have an answering service. Nothing is more aggravating than calling a contractor and getting an answering machine. At least with the service, I feel like *someone* has heard me.

* They send an email when their tech is on their way. And the tech also calls ahead of time.

Tech came to the house put refridgerant in unit, said there were no leaks, charge was 600 dollars. Then said for another 200 we could get a 2 year warranty. The cold air stopped in two weeks.
They came back put more refridgerant in and the cold air stopped again in about two weeks.
Third time they came out, tech told us there is no warranty, coil is bad, and another 1200 dollars to fix it.
After a lot of back and forth on the phone, the best they could do was to credit us the 800 dollars towards a new unit, but this unit is only 6 years old.
If the first tech was any good, he would have found the problem and I wouldn't have thrown away 800 dollars.
Had a friend come out, put a new coil in it, and it runs great, but it still cost me another 800 dollars, coil was 500

COMPLETE SCAMMERS!!!!

I made an appointment after receiving a mailer for their $49 spring tune up.  Before they came out to my house, my systems were working FINE.  But I thought it would be a good idea to get my air conditioning unit tuned up before the summer.

The technicians spent two hours pulling apart the furnace in the basement and the compressor outside.  The entire time they kept trying to sell me on all sorts of extras  that weren't covered in the tune up and most importantly their service contract.

I continued to reject their sales pitch and then suddenly the blower stopped working while it was in AC mode.  The same blower that WAS WORKING just before they showed up.  Everything else worked just not the blower while in in AC mode. Of COURSE they could fix it for $700.  I denied the work because I felt I was getting scammed and also because I didn't need the AC on immediately since it was still April.

That night the temperature dropped into the 30's so I  went to put the heat on.          IT DIDN'T WORK!!!!

I immediately called the next morning.  I was told that some times the systems are strained during the inspections and they would be happy to come out for a $150 dispatch fee.  Plus parts and labor

The bottom line.  Before I called Joseph Giannone  came to my house the heat and air conditioning worked FINE.  After their tune up neither system worked and they wanted to charged me to come back and fix it.

********* Update********* General manager did got back to me two days later. He was very professional and apologized. I was refunded my money and he also offered to give me a year service contract for free. I declined this offer as I did not want anything more to do with this company.

My AC stopped working during a heatwave. I called and scheduled a technician to come sometime between 4-8 PM but I let them know I was also available before then. They emailed at about 2:30 PM to let me know Eddie was on his way. Eddie also called. He arrived when he said he would and quickly got to work. After a series of tests, he felt he identified the problem. The AC seemed to be working great and he left. 10 minutes later the AC started making a crazy loud noise. I called the office and they responded quickly and sent Eddie back. It was going to cost a little more because the blower fan motor (?) was shot. Eddie came back and began to work to fix the problem. Due to poor installation (by a different company) there was difficulty removing the motor. They sent out another technician, Sean, who helped get the motor out. Once that was done my AC was up and running better than it had in a few years. It wasn't cheap, but from some research that i did, it seemed to be within industry standards.

Big props to Eddie, Sean, Rocco, and Peggy for their help.

Positives: Great communication, polite techs and staff, nice people. Easy and prompt scheduling. Reasonable $89 service call. The service techs, Ray and George, were great.  They explained things thoroughly and always wore booties in the house.

Negatives: The comfort adviser tried to sell us on a new furnace and A/C, when our current system is only 8 years old (typically these systems should last at least 15 years).

Our symptoms were low refrigerant in the A/C system, most likely the cause of a small leak in the system. Ray and George, the techs, suggested we speak to a Comfort Adviser with whom could discuss our options.  Brian (the Comfort Adviser) offered two quotes to completely replace the system but would not itemize them. I was told these are great quotes and I can't itemize. He should have gone through more options than just a complete replacement of both the A/C and furnace (which has nothing wrong with it).

I feel bad that I'm making my judgement on this company based solely on one person, but I don't plan to call JG again.

UPDATE 4/27: The manager called and said that this isn't how the Comfort Advisers are supposed to conduct business and apologized.

Keith and Brendan installed a boiler for me last week. It's a long day of work, and they usually begin at 8 am, but because of a morning training, they weren't able to arrive and start until the afternoon. They got right to work and continued diligently until I had heat, at midnight! This despite an interruption from my neighbor who wasn't happy about the necessary noise they were making. The guys were professional and let him (and his cop buddies he called) know very, very nicely that they were done with the noise, but that I wouldn't have heat on this cold night unless they finished the job. They didn't seem to take a break until they finished, about 10 hours total, and now I have a great new boiler system that's keeping me toasty.

PLEASE READ THIS: THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS. They charged me 125 to unclog my shower drain. Didn't work at all. Came back a week later charged me an extra 125 to use a special electric tool. They also said if it doesn't work the first time we guaranty it and will be back. They obviously didn't work at all. They refused to come back. I was so mad so I just tried to use my NORMAL BATHROOM plunger on it for literally 1 minute. I fixed it immediately. I am a lawyer and am pressing state and federal charges. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE.

Recently purchase a condo where the former owner enrolled in one of Giannone's preventative maintenance contracts. I contacted Giannone in September to schedule the pre-heating season maintenance but they said they weren't scheduling these services until the start of heating season and that I should contact them mid-October. So, I contact them today, as the weather's starting to turn, and they claim the earliest availability for pre-heating maintenance is December 22nd, but could get out as early as next week if I scheduled it as a service call - which of course would be an additional cost and unquotable by phone. I contested that the preventative maintenance had already been paid for and I was not willing to pay anything additional for the same service. Based on my experience, along with other here, it's clear that this companies only prerogative is to extract as much money from you as possible, with no consideration for pre-paid services.

They serviced my heating/ac one year ago. I have had to call for service within a year for the ac which failed this month. This was a 2 year service call. Turns out freon was very low. Both times they came out were to get in my door and work up 5 different service deals they said I needed. They quoted me a new heater for $11,000 for an 800 square foot home. I priced other venues and even if I needed duct work installed it wouldn't  be that high. I have duct work. Beware of Gianone l.

Great job as always. Joe is a true gentleman. He got us back up and running quickly. Thanks to Joe Gaines, Stephanie, Peggy and J. Giannone staff! I highly recommend. We've been using them for 5 years and they run a truly professional and honest business. We've seen their company grow much larger over these years, and I can only assume it's because of their honesty and professionalism. I know they do extensive and on-going training of their techs. All good! Thanks!

I called Giannone plumbing to check out a pump toilet that was not working. They sent a man out on a Saturday morning and it was clear to me that he had no idea what the problem was. He took some pictures and said he would talk to Joe first thing Monday morning. I told him I needed it done ASAP. He said there was a 55.00 charge. I told him that he didn't do anything except to confirm it was not working. He assured me that I would get the money back when they did the work. I waited on Monday for a phone call that never came. I waited on Tuesday for a phone call that never came. I needed this work done so I called another plumber. On Wed. Joe finally called and left me a vm. I lost my 55 to this outfit.

I stumbled across Joseph Giannone after a quick internet search for an HVAC company to service our furnace/AC--water on the basement floor, probably due to a clogged condensate line or bad pump.  I was happy to take a chance on the company since they are located only about 3 blocks from my home.  The experience started well;  I spoke to Peggy at the office who was very apologetic that she couldn't offer an earlier appointment since our unit was actually cooling and they had a long list of emergency (no A/C) customers stacked up.  Since the weather forecast was mild, I chose to wait a few days for service.  Peggy told me the technician would be out between 2 and 4 and would call ahead of time.

On the day of the appointment, the technician (Joe A) called promptly at 2 to let me know that he was running a little late and would be there in 20 minutes.  After many bad experiences with Comcast and other contractors, I was delighted that he was arriving so early in the appointment window.  Joe A was extremely courteous and took great care (shoe covers) not to track anything into the house.  As other reviewers noted, he took his time and didn't give me a hard sell.  The experience was very painless and I look forward to using the company (and Joe A) for future check-ups on the furnace and A/C.  It was great to have such a pleasant experience with a neighborhood business and I'm glad to have found a relaible and honest HVAC company after only one call.

The issue on the appointment cancellation has been resolved. Part of my refund came back twice which incurred a delinquent account.

But, I have chosen another HVAC technician from my neighbor's reference to fix my AC at the same time since the weather was hot and I didn't have time to wait for another appointment.

$340+ an hour.  We tried to get an estimate from the company but they insisted they had to see the job.  The job, as we had described, was a simple garbage disposal replacement.  The quote was $683 for labor as we had purchased the disposal.  We paid $49 for the quote and said no thanks feeling that the quoted price was way too high.  We got over the phone quotes from a plumber for $260 and a handyman service for $175.  It took the handyman 2 hours.

Made an appointment for their $49.00 tune-up special. Took the day off from work to wait for them. 30 minutes before the end of the appointment window I get a call saying that the technician is running very late. I waited 4 hours, but couldn't wait longer because of time commitments. Can't keep using up time off to wait for people who don't show. I recommend to use someone more reliable.

Giannone installed a new furnace for us after years of servicing our units. There were some issues with the initial install - it was a complicated space to work in. They were 100% responsive to fix those issues quickly and without hassles. We would hire these guys again in a heartbeat.

I had a leak in some pipes between my main floor and basement that caused a bit of a mess.  I was really concerned that the issue was the main sewage pipe.  Since I didn't have a plumber relationship, I did a lot of research and read a number of reviews.  With a lot of other plumbers, a common theme was, they turned what I thought was a small job into a huge, expensive job.  I finally settled on Giannone Plumbing because the reviews seemed positive.  I scheduled an appointment to have them come out and take a look.

Right before they were scheduled to come, we had to rush one of our kids to the hospital, where we still are after 2 days.  We're sleep deprived and desperate to get this fixed - pretty much primed to be taken advantage of.  Brandon Cook came to our house and inspected.  He explained to my mother-in-law that the issue was not the main sewage line (would have been very expensive) and that instead it was a relatively minor fix.  He signed us up for their service partner program which saved us a good bit and was generally very nice and helpful and took the time to make sure we understood what was going on.

I really appreciate the professionalism, courtesy and general helpfulness.  I would absolutely call these guys again without hesitation.  Thanks Brandon!

I've found that there are many plumbers who don't show up when you've made an appointment. The opposite is true for Joseph Giannone Plumbers. They make and confirm appointments. Sean arrived right on time. He did a thorough check of the air conditioner and fixed a small issue. I highly recommend Joseph Giannone Plumbers.

Had them come out to do a service call on issues with my AC.  I was told that they would give me a detailed written analysis of what was wrong and if necessary depending on the analysis, repair/replace options and estimates.   The service person came out and provided me 3 repair options, but because the repairs were going to be considerable ($2,500 - $4,000), he suggested I have an estimate on replacement.  The replacement estimator came right away and he too gave me 3 options of replacement ($10,100 - $12,000).   Since that was considerably more than I was expecting, I said I would need to review this further.  I was told I would get a follow up email with the 3 options and what they included.  What I got was a photo of the hand written estimate.  No detailed written explanation on the difference in the options, the manufacturer warranties, etc.  I called the office to request a more detailed explanation, copies of the manufacturer brochures, etc, and was told they do not do that.  They would have the estimator call me and talk to me in detail but they do not provide written documentation.  WTF!!!  $10,000 - $12,000 and they don't provide written documentation on what the service and warranties include?  Is this even legal?   It sure isn't a good business practice.  Most upsetting of all, I had them replace my heater last winter and I'm now feeling like I was probably snowed to the tune of $5,000.

Arrived on time, assessed problem (freon leak) fixed it.  Did a complete clean out of line and pressure tested system before replacing freon.  Checked AC system to make sure it was working properly and cleaned up. System under warranty so no charge.  A well trained and professional company to deal with.  Would recommend to anyone who needs HVAC service, repair or replacement.

So, this guy (these guys?) did the last piece of work on our remodel job when the original plumber  that was contracted started having health issues.  He's done work on many house on my block, so I figured I'd continue to give him business.

I'm sitting here after having to make and appointment a week in advance. I made the appointment for before noon, because I have to start getting ready for work at 2pm.  So far he's no-call, no-show. I had to call his office (11:40am) to find out that he doesn't know when he'll be able to make it out. This is just to get an estimate.

I ready hate it when people waste my time.

We were both saved, and almost scammed by this company.  We initially hired them last winter when we were in a mad scramble to find a company who had in stock a part that was necessary for our furnace to function.  Every other company said that they needed to order it, and it would take several days.  This meant three days without heat, in early March when we had a 1.5 year old and home.  They came quickly, installed the part (which they had in stock), and saved the day.

Fast forward 8 months.  We called them for our Fall service (something we paid for and singed up for last winter, because they told us this kind of thing would prevent us from being in a similar emergency position in the future.  They would find problems ahead of time.)  The technician came out, and told us that our ten year old furnace was very old, and needed to be replaced.  It would cost 8-10K.  When we balked, he reported we would probably be ok as long as we had working carbon monoxide detectors, and kept our coats nearby.  It felt very much like a scam/sales pitch to me.  Unsuprisingly, a second opinion from a trusted contractor revealed a perfect furnace.  Total Scam.

I would strongly advise against buying a service contract from them, and if you already have one, get a second opinon before you give them a dime.

A portion of my sewage pipe was clogged and I just needed a snake/auger to be run through it. Asked the lady on the phone about how much it would be. She could not give me any idea. Said that the technician would provide. Ryan showed up at the appointed time and gave me an estimate of $404 to run a snake 10 feet. That is outrageous. I said no thank you but of course I had to pay the $49.95 fee for them to just show up. This after I had already paid them for their annual service plan. I cannot afford to use this company ever again.

So a year ago I called Joseph Giannone because my air conditioning was not blowing cold air. I 100% believe that the technician, Chris, took advantage of me by replacing my fully functioning (as I insisted to him) thermostat ($369.), as well as my voltage absorption device (whatever that is) ($250). After he left, I called the company to come back and reinstall my original thermostat. They sent George, who was very professional, who reconnected my thermostat, which was, and still is, working perfectly. They refunded my $369 at my request, but with no contrition.

Note: My neighbor that recommended them also needed a thermostat, in addition to another part. They don't remember the name of their technician.

The company just contacted me to see how they could make amends, stating that the dishonest technician, Chris, is no longer with them. I decided to give them a 2nd chance, taking them up on an offer they made, simply because they apologized. I appreciate when a company recognizes the value of their customers, which is just plain good business sense.

Their prices seem high to me, but I am no expert. Do your own research. I may update my rating after they come for service. I am really hoping they come through.

My experience with Giannone's has been five star from the office staff to the field techs.  They have all been extremely friendly, personable and experienced in their field.  The annual contact was a good deal.  The individual maintenance to 'flush out' my heat pump HVAC system was 3 x's SaasMoore's.  So, tough call as to whether to stick with them or not.  But for day to day and annual check up's.  They seem like a good way to go.

I love this company. We received a great deal in the mail for a tune up and now I am signing up for a membership. For those of you who may be concerned with having someone come to your home while you are alone, Joseph Gianonne sends you an email with the name AND photo of the technician assigned to your appointment. In addition, I received a letter from the company looking to sponsor events, sports teams, etc. I know it's advertising for them, but it still helps the community. Usually one has to seek sponsorships; it's rarely offered. Five Stars.

Can't keep an appointment to save their lives.

They sent flyer after flyer to my house advertising their services and specials. When my central air unit was not cooling as well as it used to, and it seemed like the unit needed coolant, I called to try and take advantage of their summer tune up special which would cover things like adding coolant.  I scheduled an appointment, took time off work, and got a cancellation call the night before. The tech explained they had too many emergency calls and had to bump me since my unit was functioning fine. I explained that wouldn't work for me since my unit was not cooling below 80 degrees despite running constantly (which I explained to him in our initial call) and that I had already taken the day off to meet him for this appointment. He agreed to turn my maintenance call into a service call and that he'd be there at the agreed time, between 1 and 4.

The next morning at 11AM, Giannone's receptionist calls and says that the tech is stuck on a longer call and I'd be on call but they probably wouldn't make it (amazing that at 11 AM they already knew they'd be tied up until after 4 PM!). I explained that to her I had taken the day off work and this was a huge inconvenience. She offered no apology, no compensation or deal, just tried to reschedule me. She said the earliest date would be the upcoming Thursday. I told her that I was available that upcoming Friday, but not Thursday. She agreed to it,  said I'd get a call by 3 PM to let me know if they were making it or not from being on call. I never got that call, I left a message at 3:30 and never got a response.

The Wednesday before the appointment comes around, and I get a call reminding me that my appointment is happening tomorrow (Thursday).  I told her that was not what I had expressed, and that my appointment was supposed to be on Friday, when I was off work. Oh, we're closed Friday. was her response. These people are clowns and clearly do not care about customer service in the slightest. They think no one has to work during the day and can take off work whenever it suits them.

Joseph and his team were outstanding.  Arrived as promised and even called me when an earlier appointment opened up.  He resolved the issue quickly and took the extra care to make sure they kept my home clean with shoe covers and they took the time to check the whole system making sure all was running well- care that's difficult to find.

I recommend them highly if you have an A/C, heating or plumbing issue.

BEWARE: This business offers a Triple Play A/C, Heating and Water Heater Tune up for one low price. I  scheduled an A/C appointment and a Heating tune up, for a month later and payed for both. A very nice technician came out and serviced my A/C and suggested I needed to do critical work totalling over $1000-  he said the quote was  the price if I did it only that day, bought a service contract etc. I refused to do the extra work. When it was time for the company to service my heater, they did not return my phone messages. The company never honored their commitment and I did not get what I paid for. I am left feeling that this  offer is a scam designed only to generate  high revenue work.

Their prices are unreasonable or they inflate pricing for their female customers.  I called based on the favorable reviews.  My toilet needed to be replaced due to my tank being cracked.  The rep on the phone was very courteous and the tech arrived within the assigned service window.  I even received an e-mail with the tech's photo and bio which was a nice touch.  The price I was quoted to replace my toilet was over $900 and I was being pushed to sign up for a service contract to save additional money.  I declined and called Best Choice Plumbing and they installed my new toilet for $385.  A huge difference.  I would not recommend this company.

We called out Joseph Giannone to take a look at our boiler which was not staying lit.  The tech was helpful, figured out the problem quickly and made the fix (new thermocouple). Everything was done quickly and professionally.  You also become a member when work like this is done which qualifies you for free visits and estimates for certain things which is a nice perk. The tech was very helpful and explained the issue.  It's what you want and expect from a company.

We did have some confusion about a follow-up plumbing estimate that we were told was free, but were charged for.  We only asked the tech who told us it wasn't free or part of our membership.  After Joe responded to my (annoyed) review, I called the help center who looked at my account and fixed it for me.  But for that mix up, I would have given the service I've gotten 5-stars.

We originally called them near the end of April 2016 about a leaking toilet.  They sent a certain Dennis on April 25th.  Dennis said he could put the toilet back into new working condition for $345.  I told him that I could get an entirely new toilet for about $125, so for that price it better be like new.  He said that would be the case and we agreed to the price.   He also told me the work is guaranteed for 90 days.
Dennis removed the toilet from the floor and replaced the seal, then he replaced the innards with a new mechanism, and he replaced the hose outside the toilet, connecting the toilet to the wall.
About five weeks later, the person who lives below us (we are on the 4th floor of a six story apartment building) knocked on our door to say there was a leak.  We went and investigated and indeed there was a slow drip coming from the toilet bowl.  We immediately shut off the water and called Giannone.  They told me to come home from work the next day and they'd be there between 12 and 2.  I asked that they please send somebody other than Dennis.  Nobody showed up, nobody called.  My time is valuable and at 3pm I had to return to work.  Somebody eventually showed up after 3pm.  I called Giannone and they had no explanation for why I wasn't contacted.  They told me to stay home again the next day in the morning.  That morning somebody did show up, and it was Dennis again.  He tromped in full of attitude, looked at it for five seconds, turned a bolt half a turn and said there, it's fixed.  I asked him why it was like that in the first place.  He said talk to Joe.  I said you put this in wrong, who's going to fix the ceiling of my neighbor?  He said it's been months and I have no idea who messed with it.  Well it had only been five weeks and nobody messed with it, nobody even used that bathroom since he was in there, it is in our guest apartment.  Dennis continued acting like a little child, he huffed out, overflowing with attitude and refusing to take responsibility.  He just kept saying talk to Joe.
So I called Joe Giannone and told him the story.  He said he had to come see it himself.  He came over the next morning and looked at it and said that it isn't fixed, and indeed it was still dripping even after Dennis claimed he had fixed it (twice).  He said there were some bolts inside the toilet bowl that needed to be replaced and he could quote me a price.  I said I already paid $345 to (A) fix a leak, and (B) put the toilet back into new working condition.  And furthermore, my neighbor's ceiling needs to be repaired.  Joe then said yes, but these bolts were not part of the job.  I said, how can not fixing a leak not be part of the job of fixing a leak?  He had no answer; he just kept repeating the same mantra it wasn't part of the job.  He then rather indignantly said Ok I'll fix it for you, no charge.  I said thank you, and also my neighbor's ceiling.  Joe refused to respond to this, even though I repeated it.  So on top of this I will have to take Joe to court to pay for my neighbor's ceiling.
Three days later Joe calls me at 7am and says he has the bolts and he wants to come over this morning, at 9am.  He didn't say he'd be there between 9am and noon, he said 9am and I said ok, I will move my morning meetings to wait for him and I'd see him then.  9am came and went, 10am came and went, nearing 11am I had to leave for work.  Joe never gave me his phone number, I had to go through their central system to try to track him down and at this point I was tired of their games.  I never did hear from Joe again, he never called to explain why he didn't show up; he never followed up in any way, obviously expecting that if I don't continue to track him down and sit waiting hour after hour while he may get here at his leisure, then he's off the hook.
In summary, they never admitted to any culpability.  To them fixing a leak does not really mean fixing a leak and putting a toilet back into new condition doesn't really mean that either, even if you pay double what it costs to replace it with a new one.  And to add insult to injury, it turns out the parts they installed are faulty, the toilet does not fill unless you open the back and flick the thing by hand that they installed, and then it does not stop filling unless you open it and flick it again.  Whatever they used is so cheap that we had to replace everything.  So we just got a new toilet (and great service) from Wexler Plumbing, for much cheaper than the price Giannone charged us to not fix it.
We then charged this back through our credit card company.  Giannone never contested the charge back, because obviously they had no ground to stand on.
In summary, steer clear of these clowns they're incompenent, rude and have no interest in doing the right thing.

I called Giannone to get my dryer installed and basically the first reason I chose them is they answered the phone. I had moved into my first home and had a lot of work to do. Their customer service is unbelievably friendly and easy to work with. I got an appointment in about 2 days and Dennis came over at the beginning of the 2 hour window. He did a good job installing the dryer and had an assistant, which sped the process. Dennis returned for a second trip to install the duct work for the dryer. It was a challenging job, but he did it with speed and professional ease.

I admit I had major sticker shock at the price. I know that I could have had it done for a less expensive price, but I think the efficiency and professional demeanor was a good trade off.

During the week, I had a problem with the HVAC and called Giannone again. I talked to Peggy and got an appointment, although I was trying to get the seller to fix the problem. Peggy was pretty smart and said she'd hold the appointment because she doubted we'd ever get the seller to send someone over. Well, it turned out the seller did produce his HVAC guy and I called Peggy at 7pm the night before to cancel. She was easygoing and friendly about the cancellation. Her willingness to help me was amazing.

In short, Giannone may cost you, but I thought it was worth it.

Highly recommended. We needed emergency service for our HVAC but our usual service couldn't get to us for 3 days. Gianonne sent Sean the same evening I called. He arrived within minutes of the estimated time and assessed the situation. When the proposed fix meant returning a day or two later, I said I need it working before he left. Sean and his boss (the owner?) worked out an alternate plan that was less ideal but also less expensive. His boss drove the parts to him so he could do the work that night. Not cheap but seemed fair and we were up and running 4 hours after Sean walked in the door. We will call Gianonne for future service - great firm to work with!!!

worst customer service. the owner called me cell, and tried to sell me while not providing the details on their quote as he didn't want me to shop around and then proceeded to scream at me that he didn't care what college I went to, and that I had no respect all because I wanted to make sure I was getting the correct system, at a fair price. WOW. really mind blowing. alarm bells started going off when everyone we spoke with had only been there 1 month, and 1 of their own workers even suggested we get other quotes....the owner even laughed when I told him I would have to speak with my wife. Classic slimy sales move to try and insult the man's ego. scum. go elsewhere.

Waaaaay over-priced and absolutely absurd. We called because we had lukewarm water. They recommended we have the boiler cleaned and replace a few parts. We got a second opinion after hearing their prices and the contractor who came out literally scoffed when he heard their price and quoted us 1/3 of that price for the same exact service! Not only that, he got our hot water going in 2 seconds and it only cost $120. We were quoted over $1300 from Joseph Giannone, and we had to pay $89 just to have them come out. I regret ever having called them, but we were desperate. Find someone else.

Where do I begin?

My air conditioner was not working properly, and was inadequately cooling my house.  They sent a guy who seemed knowledgable who said that it was a problem with my thermostat.  He installed a new one for $400, and I thought the problem would be solved.  It didn't work, and they sent a second crew to assess the situation.  Those guys said that my entire system was old, and that I should replace it for $7000.  They admitted that the first guy mis-diagnosed the problem, and that they would apply $400 toward the new project.  Well, I wasn't prepared for such a hefty project so I called another company for a second opinion.  They said that the issue was that I was low on one coolant, and that a refill would cost $250.  I paid, and it worked perfectly fine.

So not only did I waste $400, but they tried to up-sell me on a system.  I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them.  I tried to get my money back, but no one would return my call.

I am a first time homeowner with little knowledge of home maintenance let alone HVAC systems. I called four companies to come service my unit and Joseph Giannone was the most responsive and courteous.  Their technician Craig was fantastic! He spoke to me in clear, plain language and answered all my questions. I ended up signing a year contract and feel like I'm all set for the summer.  They will automatically set up an appointment for me in six months to tune up my system for winter. One less thing to worry about. Thanks Craig and J. Giannone!

SCAM!!! This company came out to fix the motor that broke in my heater last winter and talked me into signing up for 2 maintenance checks the following year.  They sent out a guy yesterday to check my heating and he told me that I needed an entirely new furnace.  He said there was nothing wrong with the furnace, but it could stop working at any time because it was old.  He then tried to tell me I needed a new AC unit as well. I had someone else come out for a second opinion today and he said there was nothing wrong and my furnace is doing fine.  These people are salesmen that probably get commissions on their jobs.  STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

EXCELLENT for HVAC / hot water heater.  AWFUL for plumbing.  These are truly the least capable plumbers out there.  After experiencing great service with replacing my AC and hot water heater this year, I had JG out twice this year to clear simple clogs in my toilet.  Both times I was charged an arm and a leg and they did not clear the clogs--and in both cases I called another plumber who charged less and was actually able to clear the clogs within a matter of minutes.

Today, Giannone struck out.   I received a call from their office that the service I had scheduled for Monday, 10/29 (nothing major-just a furnace tuneup to get it ready for the cold weather) had to be cancelled because we have to handle out maintenance plan customers right now (I am not one of them) and the next appointment they could give me was the week before Thanksgiving.  This is the 3rd time Giannone cancelled on me.  They did the same thing to me at the beginning of the summer, when they were scheduled to do my central a/c tuneup.   They cancelled two appointments on me for the same reason.   I ended up having another HVAC company service my central a/c compressor.  I shouldn't have bothered with Giannone this time around, either.   But, I figured I would give them the benefit of the doubt.  Today it was 3 strikes and Giannone is out.   It appears Giannone doesn't care about central a/c and furnace tuneup customers unless you have their maintenance plan.  So if you don't have the plan, they will blow you off because you aren't a moneymaker to them.  They aren't making much money off a routine central a/c or furnace tuneup service call, so if they lose you as a customer, they don't seem to care.  Come to think of it, every time I did have Giannone come over, they always tried to upsell some specialized part they said I need, or their maintenance plan, etc.  I will be calling the last HVAC guy who came out.  He is the business owner and you deal with him directly.  He showed up when he said he would show up.  He's motivated and wants to keep you as a customer.  I am done with Giannone.

THESE PEOPLE ARE LIARS AND I WOULDN'T TRUST WHAT THEY SAY OR THE WORK THEY PERFORM.
I live on the second floor of a building and my neighbors called and said that there was water leaking down to their ceiling. I called Joseph Giannone Plumbing and Heating and they sent out a plumber to evaluate the situation. We determined that the toilet needed a new wax seal, which was replaced and the toilet reset. This service, which took 15 minutes to perform, cost me over $500, but it also came with a 1- year warranty. About 11 months later, the toilet leaked again, causing even more damage to my neighbors ceiling. I called Joseph Giannone and they came out and fixed the issue again, which was covered under the warranty. They also informed me that the damage caused to my neighbors ceiling was covered under the warranty and that a manager would call and schedule someone to come out and fix the ceiling.  After a week, I did not hear from anyone so I called and left a few messages. When I finally spoke with someone 2 weeks later after several phone calls, they gave me the name and number of a contractor that would come out and fix the ceiling. This person never contacted me and I have gone back and forth with the Manager several times to try and get my neighbors ceiling fixed. The last time I spoke with the Manager, he informed me that although he thinks the damage should be covered under the warranty and that it would only be right to come out and fix it, he was overruled by the owner of the Company. He has since ignored all of my calls and requests to remedy the situation.  When push came to shove, Joseph Giannone wouldn't own up to his original shoddy work and wouldn't fix the mistakes his company made. There are so many other options in the city, use someone else!

I made an appointment for a kitchen faucet changing. Fairly straightforward. I made an appoint for their noon-2pm block on a weekday. I took off work this day. At 11:30am I got a call but the phone number was blocked so I waited for a voicemail. It was someone unidentified that simply asked me to call the main number. I did. The receptionist took my name, number, address and said they'd be in touch. They weren't. At 1:55pm I called the office and spoke with another receptionist that took my name, number, address and said Tony would be right over. I asked what does right over mean? She said, soon. Guess what? You're correct, they never showed up or called.  I called back at about 3:30 and got their answering service, who took my name, number and address.

The following morning I got a voicemail from Ron asking me to call their number (nothing else.) I returned his call an hour later and explained. He didn't apologize but rather began to tell me how busy they were with heating issues. (It was between 55-65 degrees these day.)  I interrupted him to remind him that they never called me to tell me they weren't going show up. He then told me it'd be over a week until they could fit me in - on a weekday. I reminded him that i took off work. Then I declined.

I asked him if his company considered me a customer as soon as I made the reserved time for service or if I wasn't considered a customer until they showed up and got their $50 down payment for service. He didn't answer me.

To some extent companies like Comcast or Verizon have realized that their unreliable window reservation time was doing irrevocable damage to their bottom line and took steps toward correcting with guarantees and marketing programs to get the word out. Was it too late as people went with Netflix and Hulu? I will not use Giannone Plumbing and Heating. If only Netflix offered plumbing.

Tech said he'd be there by 10:30. Showed up at 11.  Fill valve and flapper of toilet to be replaced.  Quoted price: $379!  But it has a brass ring I'm told. No thanks - then he offers me $55 gift card. No thanks. Then it's $265 after he tells me he doesn't control the pricing.  We get a little lower, I don't want to waste my time and so here we go. Needless to say, a less than ideal experience. I don't recommend.

Do not fall for their fall tune up.  two time I had them come out for my heater first time was for a property I own. They shut down my heater And told me I needed a new heater. OK I got it. Then on my home heater I called to have it tuneup, bad mistake. The tech tells me the same thing only this time they will charge me 9000.00 to 12000.00 not going to happen.

This company is absolutely outstanding! I found myself with an air conditioning problem. My immediate  thought was to call Horizon plumbing and heating. I had heard so many commercials about them, that it seemed like a good (read reputable) company to call. I was prepared to pay more for the peace of mind of dealing with a reputable company. I have a very old central air system that was installed 35 years ago. I was certain that any company that came in would simply suggest that it's time to replace it. I called Horizon.  Ultimately, I found out that Horizon didn't service most parts of the Philadelphia area.  I asked Horizon if they could recommend a company. They said that they could not, but suggested that I check the Better Business Bureau for a list of service people in my area. I did, and I found this company! Oh my goodness! What a fantastic company! This was the find of the year ! They were courteous, prompt, and attentive to all of my questions. My serviceperson was Nick who was very personable and very polite. He fixed the problem very quickly. He showed me exactly what was causing it. He pointed out the system was very old and should probably be replaced, but did not try to force services on me. He was very knowledgeable! The entire experience was fantastic and let me tell you, they have a customer for life! I highly recommend!

Courteous, efficient and competent.  During a routine maintenance the technician discovered a small part that was likely to burn out in the near future.  The team arranged a second visit to repair the part and everything went according to schedule.

This is not a professional company, and their employees are unpleasant. We had a new heating unit and wanted a professional to turn it on and run it for the first time to make sure it was working properly. I called in the middle of October and explained the situation, and scheduled the soonest appointment, which was three weeks out. We confirmed the appointment a week out and the night before. An hour before the appointment (which I had already scheduled around) they called to say that they would not be able to send someone because they had more important, long standing customers with no heat. I said that we did not have heat either, but they said it was not their issue to fix, as they had other customers that needed their help. All they offered were insincere apologies. I would not recommend them if you actually want someone to show up. And, reading the reviews, I am lucky I did not let them into my home.

Terrible customer service. My AC was running, but making a noise. At first, I tried using the chat function on their website, but I think it was a bot, not a representative from the company. Then, I received a call from a call service, also not a representative from the company. Then, I was placed on hold. When I finally spoke with someone, they asked me to hold (again). When they came back on the line, they told me they had just spoken with an expert who happened to be walking by and that my entire unit would need to be replaced; there would be no way to fix it. [FACT CHECK: Another company came out the following day and fixed it in an hour.] About a week later, I received a mailing from this terrible company and called to ask to be removed from their mailing list and was told this wasn't possible. When I toId them why I wanted to be removed, they fought with me, and then called me back and left a disparaging message. So gross. Go with another company. I recommend East Coast Comfort.

Boyfriend called these guys out to our house twice, once to service our AC prior to summer, and then to fix a part on our heater. Both times, we were scheduled quickly and received friendly A+ service. Stuff works, the guys who came to our house didn't try to up-sell us anything wacky, and we got to support someone local. Win all around.

I have been a loyal customer for over 5 years.  I have recommended this company to all our neighbors BUT ever since you moved out of Center City Philadelphia, your service has gone way down. The techs that show up are still great, but I don't get reminder phone calls about regular maintenance and I've been waiting for over a week to get a call back from your office about setting up an appt.  This has become a complete disappointment.

After reading all the great reviews and talking to one of their employees I called them to come out for an estimate. They told me they could not come out to give me an estimate because they were too busy doing other job such as heaters. The work I need done is considered small plumbing/service jobs so it does not qualify for them to come out EVER. I have never heard of a company refusing to give estimates. I would never consider this company for any future job LARGE or SMALL. Very disappointed!!!

I contacted Giannone a couple of times to service my A/C, once in 2013 and just last week. The first time was in 2013 when my 3 year old A/C was blowing out warm air. Their technician, who I did not trust, told me that I needed to replace the entire compressor on the roof which I found hard to believe being a newer unit. I had them send another technician out who said the pressures were read wrong by their other tech and it was just the coil that had to be replaced, which cost $1300. My most recent encounter with them was when I scheduled to have my A/C serviced to make sure everything was working properly. The first day they called me the morning of and cancelled because their tech called out sick so we rescheduled for the next day. The next day I get a call in the morning to see if they could come at 11am instead of the 12-4pm window, however I was out of town and wasn't going to be back until 12pm. I get a call an hour later telling me they have to cancel again because there were larger jobs that were more important than a service call. I rearranged both days to be home from 12-4pm two days in a row and both days they cancelled. I can see one day cancelling, not two.  I would not recommend Giannone. I called another company that day that was recommended by my neighbor who also didn't have anything good to say about Giannone. There are HVAC companies out there who offer way better service, pricing, and are reliable.

Called and was told someone would be out between 1 and 5pm  No one ever called or showed up. The woman who set up the appointment kept asking do you own the property?  They are out for big bucks If they didn't want to do the job why not just say so on the phone?  Huge bunch of creeps!!

I called Joseph Giannone with my AC not working and 90degree heat.  I was admittedly desperate to get it fixed, and another HVAC group was not available - so i trusted the good reviews here and called them.

I knew it was the freon and told them so.  Still, it took them over an hour to take a look, diagnose, and give me my options.  Now granted they fixed the problem and got the AC up and running again.  But not without a charging me way more than reasonable!  They kept on blaming the high cost of freon, but after looking it up, they charged me double what they should have.

Further, they gave me quotes on a new unit.  Since their quote, I have gotten 2 more, and thank goodness I did!  Their quote was at least $2000 more than any others (for the cheapest unit).  further, the other companies indicated there would be a size problem installing the higher SEER units, while this company would have been more than willing to take my money for something that wouldn't fit.

While I am sure they are competent technicians, their prices are ridiculous.  If i had known better and could stand the heat, I would've told them to leave and called someone else.

I gotta say, these guys were fantastic. They had the fastest response as I was gather estimates, they provided the best price on the estimate, had the best financing options, and I just generally got a better vibe from them than any of the other companies who came out.

Though they are based in South Philly, they had no qualms with coming out to my home in Delco. The work was done quickly and professionally, and they even took extra safety measures on the install since I had my 2 year old running around, including extra protection around any spots that might catch a little kid's eye. I couldn't be happier with my new system, and I highly recommend them to anyone.

We hired Joe Giannone to make recommendations and complete ductwork in our existing HVAC system. We received a prompt visit and very thorough estimate for various options to remedy our problem and suggestions to increase the efficiency of our unit. We chose to start with just one portion of the work, which they obliged without any complaint. The team who arrived to complete the job (led by James Jim Blazejewski) was very knowledgeable, professional and courteous. They completed the work in just a few hours and cleaned up so well that they left no evidence of drywall removal/duct installation. We were very pleased with our service, and will use Joseph Giannone for any future HVAC needs.

Horrible experience. I called a few weeks ago for my heater which stop working. A tech was sent to my house the next day. His name was Darren. He told me he does not accept credit cards because in the past people would stop payment.  Now I know why. I gave him 1,369.00 in cash (big mistake ). He told me when he was coming up which would be that week. Never showed .I had to call him to see when he would come again. He was very unprofessional and told me all his personal problems as to why he couldn't come. 8 called the company to express my concerns. I was told they don't do forced air heat and AC and that they contact a company that does  and sends them to you. Which I got Darren f. He then wanted the key to my house so he could come on Tuesday to do my heater. Said he would call on Monday to get my key. Only called when I called the company to complain. I decided to not have the work done because if the unprofessional behaviour displayed by Darren. Bottom linr..I don't know him...took my 1'369.00..and never did the work. Told me I would be charged 900 for a one hour visit ( he did get my fan going). And that he would put $400 in cash in my mailbox. I said no...hand it to me...HD said ok....after we hung up...texted me and said he would send me a check for his record. I work very hard for my money and learned a very expensive lesson. Get three estimates, read the reviews and never pay cash....Glad I didn't  have Darren do the work. It could have been a lot worse. Don't call this company ever for forced air heat and ac.

Had a completely new high efficiency furnace & AC unit installed by Joseph Giannone, including wiring, piping, controls & flue.  Got a few quotes & they were very competitive.  I was completely satisfied, particularly with Joe's knowledge of the equipment and the energy rebates available.  They cleaned up thoroughly and removed the old units.  Installation was done professionally, on time and for the quoted price.  I would gladly use them again & I recommend them to anyone.

I have had several heater problems with my new furnace and 100 year old steam radiators. I've found these people to be knowledgeable, honest, and very, very nice (without being smarmy). Also, they make an effort to come out as soon as possible. As a woman home owner, I especially appreciate the fact that they treat me respectfully, charge fairly, and don't try to cheat me. Joseph Giannone Plumbing Heating and Airconditioning is one of the best companies I have ever done business with. From the initial phone call to the follow up after installing a new heating/AC system, they provided exemplary service. The intake call was detailed and inspired great confidence. I was given an 8 to 11 a.m. window and was surprised to get a call at 7:50 to say they were on the way.  The initial repairman talked me through several options, never pushing or upselling at any point.  The installation team was equally prompt, knowledgeable and communicative. I will recommend them to all my friends.

Can't judge them one way or another on the plumbing part of it, but they installed a new AC unit in my row home and did a great job.  Were very professional and polite and even put those boot covers on when they came inside.  The job wasn't very easy as the unit is on the roof.  But they did a good job, were on time and the price was what I was quoted.  I would definitely recommend them to anyone in the city for residential work.  I deal with a ton of commercial HVAC and plumber workers for work and these guys were head and shoulders better.

After using this company for several years their service has dropped off. The customer service rep Jeff has a major attitude and is rude. I cannot believe while trying to give a company business the cs rep is argumentative and downright disrespectful. I then spoke to Kara the office manager who already copped an attitude and cut me off while trying to speak. I was simply trying to establish if fixing the compressor at $4000.00 was going to be a lot less than installing a whole new unit. Boy the push back I got! I simply called another professional who advised me a new unit would be at least $8000. I'm intelligent enough to know there are differnet units and installation variables that can make the price flucuate.  She was busy rattling off all our services records ..and there were many! (can you say lost business for future) to prove me wrong about replacing a unit in the past. Wow way to really treat your customer horrible. Well these 6 units will be taking our business elsewhere to someone who will treat us in the professional and helpful manner we deserve. I guess it was really too hard to cooperate.

So, after discovering a leak in my bathroom, I hired this company to investigate the leak.  They travelled the  one half mile to my house, told me the leak was due to a problem related to the caulk in my shower, and that the charge would be $75.  Even though he could explain in detail how to fix such a problem and that the materials weren't expensive, he wouldn't actually do it himself.  Seriously?  I would have thought carrying around caulk and taking the 5 minutes to fix such a problem would be something within a plumbers job description.  And I tend only to hire people who make a real effort to be helpful, so I would never recommend this company.

These guys might be great when they show up, but from the reviews it seems they often don't. When the cold came this winter, we found that our heater did not turn on. I called J. Giannone after finding them on yelp, because they were in my neighborhood and I wanted to support my community. I called on November 5th, and I was tolled the first available appointment was on the 21st, between 8am-12. I took it because I figured with the cold coming all HVac companies were equally busy. On the 21st, as 12came and went, i called to check on them. They had no idea who I was. They lost my appointment details, and wanted to charge me $99 to come in and check things out. I said no, and called Personal Plumbing who showed up within hours. It was evening and at the end of their work day, but they didn't want to leave me in the cold. J. Giannone might be good workers, but they are disorganized and have no clue about it.
