Faced with a toilet that would not stop running I called and requested a service call, was told that there was a $70.00 diagnostic fee plus parts. The technician arrived, determined that I needed a new fill valve and asked me to okay the repair.  I did just that and after the worked was completed I was given a bill for $202.00! It seems the diagnostic fee is just that and the additional $132.00 was for an approximately $15.00 part plus labor of $117.00 for a 20 minute repair.  Beware!  Ask for what the total repair bill will be before you approve any work.  Needless to say I won't be using Beverly Services in the future.

I contracted them to perform a sewage line inspection for a home I wanted to buy.  First, they told me that my Realtor had to be there to open the lock box to let them in.  I called, set that up, the Realtor called them with her contact information so they could call her when they were ready.  They will ONLY give you a half hour notice of when they're going to arrive.
I called the day before to confirm that my realtor was their contact.  Day of I have four missed calls from them (I was in a work meeting) call to notify me I had a half hour to get to the house to let them in.  They never called my realtor.  Said they had no information to call her.
Finally, they worked it out, get to the house, can only do half the test because of snow they couldn't find the man hole.  Doesn't matter that they did half the test - they still charge FULL price.  Also, when my realtor arrived to meet them only half their crew showed up - the person with the camera wasn't there and they all had to wait.
And last but not least, I never got a report from them.  I had to call and ask for the results.  When I asked the customer service rep why I never received anything her reply was, Not everyone wants to know.  Really?  Why would you pay $249 for a service and not want the results?
I would never use this company again.

My AC broke and a technician from beverly heating and cooling came to repair it on July 29, 2016. One week later, on August 6, 2016, there was a flame in my garage while the garage door was closing and the AC stopped working. I called beverly heating and cooling and asked them to come repair it. I was willing to pay again my home warranty deductible even if the AC had broken only within a week of it being repaired. Because it was saturday, I talked with an answering service. the operator was very rude, raised her voice a few times and even hang the phone on me. This was operator number 2 but she refused to give me her name. A technician called me later, using an unknown number (I could not identify the number in my phone, because he hid it voluntarily). He did not want to come fix it because he said home warranty does not cover calls on the weekends. I was very concerned because the flame in my garage could have started a fire. The technician got my home warranty information and, at 4.36pm,said he would call me back. They never called me back until 2 days later, August 8 at 12.08 pm. A technician from a different company came to fix the AC. He found a wire that was not properly attached to the wall and that had been cut by the garage door while it was closing. This is why there was a flame when the wire got cut. The flame could have started a fire.

I strongly recoommend not using this company

Cap blew off chimney pipe during rain storm, water was leaking around pipe on furnace. They came next day, found part, got it here a sap , fixed it quick, checked furnace as well. Price reasonable. Friendly and knowledgeable, very professional . Even customer service caller that let me know they were coming was very friendly!  Highly recommended!

Called four different places on a rainy Sunday morning when our A/C died, including the vendor who installed the system in the first place and told us they could come Wednesday. Beverly was here within two hours and diagnosed and fixed the problem for a reasonable fee within minutes. Fred is our hero! I'll definitely recommend them to others.

I will never use or recommend Beverly Services to anyone again. I recommended them to a client of mine to have a sewer video done on a house that they were buying. We had a confirmed appointment for 8:00am, which I had to schedule someone to be at the home to meet the technician. The tech never showed up, so I called in to the office and spoke to the manager (very rude) and was told that the tech went to a dr's appointment to get a prescription and he should be there around 10-10:30. I explained that I was paying someone to be there because this home is vacant and we needed an exact time. I was told that they couldn't give me an exact time and I should understand that emergencies come up. I explained that I should have been called if the tech was not going to be at the appointment. This whole conversation the manager was extremely rude. When the technician finally showed up he didn't even have the right equipment with him and had to have someone else bring it. To top things off we were told that he was unable to scope the pipes because of rust. We had to have another company come out who had no problems at all doing the job.

May 9 2015... Had Beverly services come to service my AC.  The unit made terrible rattling sounds and whistling coming from duct work after they finished the job.   Called them to come back and fix what they messed up and they made appt.  for any time after 12 pm,. As of 9 pm they have not shown or called about the appointment.  Customer service is horrible.  It is Friday evening so I guess it will be like this the entire weekend as they don't send out service on weekends.  Can't even get a hold of anyone bc the office is closed

Beverly Services installed our furnace & air conditioner. We had an issue with our furnace today. Simon T was our tech. He is polite explained what our problem was. The company sent out the part today  & Simon repaired it. Can't say enough about their employees. Always very personable. Our air conditioner went out July 4th & Beverly had it fixed within hours. Great employees & great company.

I've been using Beverly since 1995 when the furnace in the house I was renting went out in the middle of winter. I was new to the area and had no idea who to call. I found their listing in the yellow pages (1995, remember) and called them. They came out almost immediately and got the heat back on. I was so relieved. Fast forward to a 40 degree Sunday in 2018, and all of a sudden I smelled something electrical burning.  I was able to isolate it to the furnace, so I called Beverly. They were able to get to me within a few hours. The tech was able to determine a circuit board that feeds power to the blower fried, and although she didn't have a replacement board, she was able to jumper it so that the blower could get power.  I've got heat!  They willbbe back tomorrow to replace the board but in the meantime we are warm.

I called they came promptly and checked my water heater and determined it needed replaced, something that I guess what was needed. Quote me a price and I agreed. Since this was a Friday, my work would be done on Monday. My original service provider said my heater would last thru the weekend but if it didn't he was on call on would be at my house promptly if needed. On Monday Fred came and was professional, efficient, knowledgeable, and did his work quickly. Probably not more than 2 hours. I was pleased with the quality of work. This was my first but not the last time I call Beverly for my plumbing needs.

After having my AC break on one of the hottest days of the summer, I called Beverly Services to make a home visit. They arrived promptly and the service man was very friendly and helpful. I asked him a lot of questions and he was happy to answer them and even gave me some useful information about how to help maintain the life of my AC. The service price was fair, although if you look, you can often find a coupon for $25 off. I was pleased with how quickly and efficiently the employee worked.  They take credit cards too - you can swipe it right in your driveway!  I was very pleased and would use them again.

Beverly Services fixed a problem I had with heating at my home. I had the job assigned to them through my home warranty company. Their technician, Fred, visited during the assigned time slot. He was friendly and polite. He quickly figured out the problem - the thermostat circuit had gone bad. He replaced it with a new thermostat and performed a few checks to make sure everything was working fine. Very efficient and neat. Thanks Fred!

Service area in Belle Vernon, Pa.
We moved into a new house in May. As the weather became warm enough to use the AC, we noticed that we were getting air flow but no cooling. We found some helpful info online and determined that we had no coolant in the system. Our home warranty company contacted Beverly on our behalf.

The repair took 3 days, left our heating out of service which will need another repair before winter, and was one of the worst combined customer service experiences we've had.

On the first day, the time window we were given was noon-4, and the tech was supposed to call me with a 30min notice of his arrival. At 4:30 I called customer service having heard nothing from a technician. Customer service made excuses that they were down a technician and that I had been pushed back to accommodate their lack of available workers. The girl on the phone was very impatient and seemed to be upset at me for asking about my service.  At 6:30 I received my call from the technician and at 7:30 he arrived. The first order of business was alerting me that I would be charged $75 for the deductible just for him to show up. He continued to tell me what a hard day he had had because someone either quit or was fired-- the technician who happened to cover my area. He said that he didn't even know that I was on the schedule until right before he called me - at 6:30pm!
He inspected the pressure in my cooling system, found that it was all but empty and would need to perform further inspection of the unit to determine the root of the problem. This would take some extra time and he said to me I don't want to be working until 9pm. So he charged me the deductible and left, with customer service to call me for my next appointment.

Several days later, a different technician showed up, again after the time window, and performed the inspection (which took less than 15 min). A coil needed to be replaced. But he couldn't do this because he needed to order the part and submit a request to the home warranty company. (My warranty clearly states that ALL components of the unit are covered.) Again I called customer service to try to schedule a time window that would not require me to miss additional work. The girl on the phone sounded irritated and said that they give a window and the tech would call me with a 30 min warning. That was the best they could do, which is no different than their current policy.

On the third visit, two new technicians showed up to perform the repair. After they had swapped out the damaged coil and filled the coolant, they showed me that the vent for the gas heating system was not connected by twisting and pulling a section of PVC out of the ceiling. They left two sections of PVC pipe on the floor and said that they would have to be called back to my house for a separate repair. I cannot use my furnace for heating due to a complete lack of ventilation which would result in CO poisoning.

The kicker is that after all of this, we were sent a notice from Beverly that stated on the final repair call, they noticed that a component of the outdoor unit appeared to be bent as if hit by a lawn mower or trimmer. We can't see anything that looks damaged and the part that they are describing is not exposed to being struck by lawn maintenance. Just another attempt to swindle us.

This company is truly one of the few organizations where customer service is paramount.  Not only are they friendly, every time, but informative and quick to provide detailed and easy to understand suggestions.  While I have only used them for maintenance to date, I would be very comfortable with any level of services that they provide.

Kudos to a company that still believes in great customer service and a job well done!

I put in a claim late Friday evening with my home warranty service because there was gas leak at one of my rentals, and they assigned my claim to Beverly Services. The gas company came out, shut off the gas supply, and red tagged the issue because one of their employees made a monumental mistake and cut the supply line to short when replacing the meter (without my consent and my tenant's knowledge) earlier that day.

Since it was about 30 degrees, I called Beverly Services shortly after I filed the home warranty claim late Friday evening/early Saturday morning to arrange service for the next day so that my tenants wouldn't have to spend more than one day taking an ice cold shower and night in a freezing house. I called Beverly Services emergency number, and the representative arranged for someone to call my tenants around 7 a.m. on Saturday and set up a service visit - or so I thought. Apparently, a technician called my tenant around 8 a.m. and said he wouldn't be able to get a backhoe out there this weekend to take care of the problem. My tenant, who works in oil and gas, explained no backhoe would be needed as the distance from the curb box to the meter was merely 15-20 feet, so they should be able to manually dig at each end and run the replacement pipe through with little issue. The technician said he doubted that, but refused to come out to the house and do an assessment for himself.

After my tenant relayed that information to me, I immediately called Beverly Services and explained that the technician not only failed to show up for the service visit, he refused. The representative then told me she would have the service manager call me. Well, the service manager called my tenant, and said he would give my tenant an estimate over the phone. Obviously, my tenant told him the technician never assessed the issue, so he didn't see how the manager could provide him with an accurate estimate, and then my tenant requested that the manager send someone or come out himself to do an assessment. Like his technician, the manager refused to come out and restated he would give him the estimate over the phone and my tenant could decide if he was willing to pay that much money before they came out and rendered service. My tenant obviously declined.

Thankfully, I found another DOT certified plumber who is local to the area and understands the meaning of customer service, and he came out that afternoon; dug up the line at the curb box and meter and replaced it (just like my tenant thought); called up one of the Gas company supervisors to come inspect it; and had the gas turned back on by 8 p.m. - all within a five hour timeframe and without charging me out the @$$ like Beverly Services probably would have for an emergency job. In a way, Beverly refusing to render service is the best thing that could have happened because I found my go-to guy when it comes to plumbing-related issues! However, I will never recommend Beverly Services to anyone, and I plan on providing the same feedback to my home warranty provider.

They purchased and installed a Rheem Professional the highest quality hot water tank from Home Depot.  That was 18 months ago brand new tank that lasted less than two years.  We called for help but Beverly let actual repairmen off for the holiday.  Well we ended up cancelling xmas.  It's 5 days later and still no idea when parts will be available.  I gave up on them. I'll call the better business bureau as well but the real issue is Beverly has no customer service so they cant help.  They do nothing to collect against warranty on behalf of the customer nor do they respond.  Beverly purchases the lowest quality products from Home Depot.  Rheem and Home Depot areisbetter since they will not admit any wrongdoing.  Everyone points the finger.  Bottom line is Beverly doesn't back the products it sells so why risk doing business with them?

I used this company as directed by my home warranty company.  After the first visit I was pleased.  Upon completion of second visit today I discovered I did not have power on part of my home.  I called immediately for the electrician or anyone else to come back today and I was told that not possible.  Explaining my absolute urgency to the service fellow his answer did not change.  I absolutely would NOT  recommend this company as customer service seems NOT be  A PART OF TEIR VOCABULARY!

The mediocrity starts with their automated phone system. Upon calling, a recording tells you to press 2 for the service department. I pressed 2 and someone answered. I explained why I was calling, and she said, Let me transfer you to the service department. I was on hold for several minutes, then someone else answered. I explained why I was calling, and she said, Let me transfer you to the service department. They put me on hold for another five minutes, then someone answered, I explained why I was calling, and they said, Let me transfer you to the service department. This has happened every time I call. Eventually I got through to someone. My air conditioning isn't working. They sent someone out to diagnose the problem. It took a day and the tech coming back another time to confirm that yes, the compressor is shot and needs to be replaced. It takes another couple days for them to call me with a quote for the repair, I approve it, then they have to call me back AGAIN to schedule the actual repair. So, a week after I initially contacted them, they replace my compressor, charge me about $3k, and THE AIR CONDITIONING STILL ISN'T WORKING. So they're sending someone out later today for another diagnostic visit, for which they will charge me another $90, because they couldn't fix the problem the first time. It's July, the weather is in the 80s at BEST, I'm out $3000, and it's been a week without air conditioning since I first asked them to fix it.

The technicians and the people I spoke to on the phone have all been polite and professional. I just wish they had actually fixed the problem they charged me for fixing.

A weekend ago, I noticed that a pond had formed in my basement near the drain seemingly overnight. Panic-stricken, I called Beverly Services, and within an hour, a middle-aged plumber with a wry, down-home sense of humor by the name of Jeff was parking his van in front of my house.

Charmin brand toilet paper was the culprit, clogging the drain at the trap. No more than 20 minutes later, the drain was cleared with a manual snake, and Kay and I were both put at ease.

We won't be using Charmin any longer (Kay bought it 'cause it was on sale despite being advised by another plumber not to use it), but if another emergency arises when it comes to plumbing, heating, cooling, or electrical, we'll be calling Beverly Services. A 24/7/365 operation, the 71 year-old Beverly Services offers fair pricing and guarantees satisfaction.

Jeff's Greatest Bits

No, don't use blue pens. I have a racial prejudice against blues. Those people invade planets and enslave everyone on 'em!

Man, this house is so outta code you might as well burn it down yourself and get the insurance money. I know some good arsonists. Relax! I'm kidding!

Hey! I cleared your drain! Come down and take a look at the boa constrictor I pulled outta there!

I'll need ya to flush both commodes, but please, no #2's. It's been a long day.

I've been so busy, I forgot to get lunch. Mind if I order us a pizza? I'll charge it to Beverly. They never check their books.

Hey! I just found a tunnel! There's a subway runnin' under yer house!

Granted it  was a difficult job in a second floor laaundry room in two family house but therecwerEE multiple issues with Beverly. Let's start with quality and  timeliness.  After several days of work - which took over a  two week period because had to order parts, and supposedly done, had a leak.   County inspector appointment made, he passed it with minor adjustment; had to wait again for plumber return; another wait another two days and again told all was ok.   Idiot office person schedules inspector without job being done.  Plumber finished and again says all ok.   I ran load and had major gush and drain back up.  Finally assign a supervIsor to come and check and tells me has to be ready piped and another issue his colleague missed.  Comes back to repair their work and told again have to order parts ( this excuse has worn thin) and finally today, original plumber returns ( without  a supervisor) and when I ask about the problem, he says no problem and bad mouths his supervisor.
In addition, each appointment ( this has been over a course of a month), dispatcher says they will be here between 8-9 am; they show up at 10 ( not the plumber fault,  dispatcher is wrong.   Overall- terrible experience.  DO NOT USE THIS COMPAN!

Update:  original plumbers return and after an annoying day ( so unprofessional with personal chatter constantly- no wonder their was terrIble) still leakIng. Finally, company takes complaints seriously and sent master plumber- 2 days later, finally fixed.  Why did I have to go thru all the BS.

UPDATE: To add to the total incompetence of the plumbers , except for the one experienced guy they finally assigned to fix all that had been screwed up ( why wasn't he assigned to the job to begin with?) the inept service manager Nick lies and his schedulers lie- keep asking us to be home all day for inspection appointments - no shows. And then try to show up today without any notice. When I called Nick on it, he lied. STAY AWAY FROM BEVERLY!!!

After we moved into a new house, we had a 12 month home warranty provided by the seller.  We noticed a leaking zone valve on our boiler system, so we filed a home warranty claim.

Bethany came to replace the valve, but they left without bleeding air out of the pipes.  It required three trips from their people over the course of three days to keep trying to bleed more air out of the pipes, with none of them doing a satisfactory job.  During this process, we didn't have heat in some zones of the house and our kids had to go sleep at a relative's house.  Even after three visits, they still had not restored heat to all parts of the house, and the pipes were still very noisy.

We finally called the service company that had installed the boiler and done maintenance on it in the past.  They fixed it in half an hour.  Given our poor experience with Beverly, we don't recommend people use them.

Horrible and incompetent . In 1995 we hired them for extensive AC DUCTWORK  and the morons covered spotlights with insulation causing a house fire and hundreds of thousands in damages.

Our insurance company Liberty mutual sued them. They eventually settled out of court. They were guilty but never acknowledged their guilt.

There was a very long fire report.

Beverly put out lives in danger.

So my ac stopped working on the hottest day of the  year!
I called service on Thursday and they said they could come check it out Friday between 12-5. Of course it was the day of the prom, so it couldn't happen in a worse day. Well it started off shaken, 12 came and went, 2 came and went and at 330 we had to go get pictures so I called and asked if I was still on the schedule.. yes it's just a busy day
Well I had to leave, thankfully my dad said he would stay... 4 I got a call to say they were on the way
At 5 o'clock on the nose, the service man showed up.
I have to be fair, after that It went pretty good
Simon was our repairman and he quickly found the problem and fixed it. He recommend some fixes and off he went
I would recommend Beverly to anyone needed a furnace or ac repaired. They were honest and professional, even though I hate the 5 hour time window they give, I understand and assume that unless it's an emergency, that's the way to schedule repairs

Ahhh Beverly, what happened since 2012? I first used this business when my hot water tank went out...it wasn't leaking but I was having the hardest time trying to light the pilot. Not trying to blow up my house, I called them. They promptly got back to me, had a technician come out, and he said I had an issue with the thermocoupler. After a replacement, all was good.
I called them recently because the same water heater is now leaking. You know, leaks are no good...almost always means you need a new one. And of course this happens on a weekend. I called Beverly at 9pm on Sat...and the rep states I can't schedule you an appointmnet. So I ask her what my options are. She told me that they could have a plumber come out, but since it's after 7pm, the service fee would be $119. Come one, really? She told me if I called in the morning it would be $79. So I called in the morning. The woman indicated that the technician would call me back - and he did. We discussed prices...and that's as far as we got. For a standard 40 gallon water heater to be installed...they were talking in excess of $800 with everything. It took everything within my power not to scream. That's highway robbery! I'm not stupid, I know how much a hot water tank costs...and I have to assume they must think I'm stupid...which is an insult. I ended up going with another company, who was much more reasonable. So all you yelpers out there, please don't waste your time with this company.
