We fix any plumbing related problem, from garbage disposals, toilets, leaky pipes. We also install new main waterlines, new bathroom and kitchen remodels, tankless water heaters, heat pump water heaters as well as your standard water heaters.
HISTORY
Established in 1999.
I started my plumbing business after working for a local plumbing shop for approximately 7 years, I had completed my apprenticeship and was looking for a new challenge, it was the best decision I could have made. I have been going strong for 13 years. I have encountered many challenges and made many friends along the way, I hope to continue both for many years to come.
ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER
This is a picture of me and my wife, taken at Todd lake, I love the northwest and all it has to offer, I was raised in California and moved to Oregon when I was 19 years old.
I bounced around a bit doing odd jobs here and there trying to decide what my future was going to be, I was looking through the help wanted section of the newspaper, there it was, the add read ' looking for plumbing laborer, must be a hard worker, not afraid to get dirty'.
This was for me, and so the journey began, I have never looked back.

This review is regarding a water heater.
Bob was very helpful in answering all my questions and the most affordably priced. I called several other well known companies in the area to price out water heaters and they were considerably more, some even seemed too busy to bother getting me all the details I asked for, and one just didn't have as qualified person to answer questions.
The day of the install Bob and his assistant Mark who has been with Bob for over 20 years were here on time and ready to work. They drained the water heater and cleaned up. He removed the old water heater.
Bob took the time to explain a few things about my new water heater and how to maintain it. I had a few other plumbing issues and he took the time to explain what he could and couldn't do.
Nichols plumbing is professional, friendly, and affordable.
Don't go anywhere else!!

Nichols Plumbing provides excellent service at an extremely reasonable rate. Bob explained everything that needed to be done clearly and performed the work quickly, efficiently and thoroughly. Happy to give our highest recommendation and will absolutely use again when needed!
b does great work. He is very responsive unlike the big company plumbers that want to make you wait several weeks unless you pay them overtime.
The big company plumbers would learn a lot by seeing how Bob operates especially on the customer service end.
And pricing is VERY reasonable compared to the big plumber companies.
Plus he is a very friendly guy and is a pleasure to do business with.
I HIGHLY recommend him and would give him higher than all five stars if I could!

Terrible customer service. I requested to have water run to a washer/dryer combo unit and he showed up and didn't have the right info from our phone call. Said he thought I was doing something with a sink.
Then he told me the job was impossible. I tried to inquire about alternate solutions and he proceeded to tell me all the reasons I don't get it. No alternate solutions, no helpful suggestions (actually he did mention maybe I could hire a handyman to help me solve this?)
Anyway basically It seemed like he didn't want to do the job before he got there, as his feedback was that I'm completely screwed and it can't happen.
Side note: There is an upstairs sink already set up for plumbing we can probably modify for the washer/dryer, btw. Didn't think of it until afterwards but if he had pursued alternate solutions that surely would've occurred to me. But he didn't try to be helpful at all. Boo.

If I could give them 100 stars I would. I listed my house for sale last week and this week noticed a whiff of sewer odor emanating from the bathroom. Yesterday, thinking it was just a wax ring I had someone pull the toilet. Wrong! Underneath was a crumbling lead pipe, beyond my handyman's scope of practice. I called Nichols Plumbing this morning and talked to Bob. and explained the situation. He graciously rearranged his appointments to be able to come out this morning and assess the situation, give me a bid and do the job. He and Josh were very thoughtful about following COVID precautions, protecting the carpets, making as small a hole as possible in the sheet rock (and creating a access) as well as taking care to not let the pets out as they went back and forth. To top it all off I feel their price was quite fair. I am so fortunate to have found this company and highly recommend them!

Bob is overrated, I was recommended by a friend and she raved about him. A bit overpriced for the work he did and I still had to call someone else to come fix his work

We've used Nichols plumbing twice in the last two years for issues with two different showers. Bob has always responded promptly. He is courteous, professional, fair, and willing to go the extra mile. He helped us understand the problem and worked with us step by step for the most cost effective solution. We highly recommend Bob for any plumbing needs!
A friend recommended Nichols Plumbing when I had a plumbing emergency. I had a leak at the water meter and he fixed it for less than I expected. Bob found that someone had used the wrong part in the past to try to do a repair. Anyway, he saved the day!
I found him to be nice, knowledgeable, and down to earth. He listened and didn't try to up-sell me work that I didn't need. This really is plumbing that makes sense! I will definitely call him the next time I need a plumber. I highly recommend Nichols Plumbing

Bob was referred to me by a work colleague. I needed some help with the anti-scald settings on the showers in our bathroom. It wasn't of the highest priority, but Bob came quickly assessed the situation and did great work. While he was there, he also took a quick look at the rest of the house's setup. He was extremely professional and nice. Nichols will Plumbing will be my first call if I ever need any future work.
We had the water main between the street and the house spring a major leak and Bob came out with a quick bid and got the ball rolling right away after I accepted the bid. A few days later we were back in action with a whole new water line from the street to basement and it works perfectly and just passed inspection this morning. Super nice guy, nice crew, and now I know exactly who I'll call when I have other plumbing needs.

We had a broken pipe in our front yard during the big Portland snow storm this week and were without water to our house. No plumbers were willing to come to our house due to the roads until we found Nichols Plumbing. They not only braved the snowy, icy roads to come to our house, but they spent the entire afternoon working and digging in our front yard to find and fix our broken pipe. They fixed the pipe and got the water restored to our house in freezing conditions. They were reasonable considering the difficulty of the job and we knew their hourly rate ahead of time. They were also very nice and professional. I'd highly recommend them and will definitely use them again when we need plumbing assistance.
Bob is a true professional. He's done several different jobs for us over the past 3 years. He always promptly answers and returns calls. Great service and always able to resolve our issues. He's very honest and upfront with his bids and estimates. Would highly recommend Nichols Plumbing for any jobs.
Customer service is excellent! He was quick to respond and even showed up early. I will definitely use Nichols Plumbing again.

The best experience in every way! First of all, I called a few numbers on a Sunday to see if I could set up an appointment for sometime Monday to check out a disposal that hadn't been working all weekend. He was the only one who responded, and was kind enough to offer to come out the next day. He was timely, efficient, honest, professional - all of the expected and hopeful characteristics! Plus - such a bonus - he has a great sense of humor and LOVES dogs! That was enough for me . He fixed the problem and was on his way! A joy to work with, and I would HIGHLY recommend him!
Bob and his team are great to work with. We discovered a leak and Bob came out that day and gave us a bid. Because of how our house was originally plumbed, it turned out to be a large and expensive job, but Bob's quote was more than fair (I got a couple of other estimates for comparison) and he made room on his schedule to get us taken care of quickly. Bob and his team were very professional, very clean, and the work they did is great. I would not hesitate to recommend them and I will use them again in the future if we need it.
We live in a 100+ year old house and we've had a couple of plumbing problems.
I'm guessing we've used Nichols plumbing half a dozen times.
Bob is a capable and conscientious plumber, and an interesting and affable individual.
Setting aside the fact that I only see Bob in response to plumbing emergencies- I always enjoy seeing him coming up our walkway.

My tenants called with a leak showing up on the ceiling last weekend. Bob showed up within a few hours of me calling, on a Saturday, and had the leak diagnosed and fixed in a short amount of time at a reasonable rate. He also called the tenants ahead of time to diagnose and set up the appointment, and kept in touch with me as the owner to keep me up to date. Top notch all around.
Clogged drain on a Friday night, called Bob, left message and he returned call Saturday morning and made appointment. He was on time, kind, and considerate. The Clog was more than just needing a snake, he had to go under the house. I like that he took a video to show us the problem he was seeing under the house. Discussed a few options for repair prices and all at a fair reasonable price for Saturday work. Also, he stated he was going to the Auto show and never did I feel he was rushing to get done. Awesome work, highly recommend, will use again
Wow, a great no nonsense plumber. Schedule appointment, on time, give quote and down to business. No house call fee or down payment as many plumbers now require. Bob quoted me what it would cost if he did not run into unseen problems, he finished on time at exactly the price he quoted. He is friendly honest and takes pride in a job well done. He is now my go to plumber. Give him a try and see that he deserves his Yelp 5 star rating.
Bob did a great job replacing our water main. We woke to a lake in our front yard. Bob was out the same day providing a bid and scheduled us in. He was responsive and timely, solid value and provided excellent craftsmanship. I am a former plumber and not easy to please - Bob is very good.
