Established in 2012.
After 17 years of service plumbing for other company's Derek wanted to start a company that did quality work for a fair price. We value good communication between customer and contractor and work to continue our high customer satisfaction rate.

I have used this company several times, Derek has always been professional, great at explaining what the problems are and giving me any possible options that I may have. Derek Marsh and his wife Lonnie run a top-notch plumbing business. Derek repaired a serious problem while installing a new toilet, a problem which had been ignored or poorly addressed by two other plumbers. He made several other adjustments while he was here, and he was prompt, courteous, and friendly. He will be the first one we call for any future plumbing needs.

Great communication over the phone in helping provide a rough estimate for repairs. They were able to provide service 2 days after I first called. Gave an honest assessment of the issue, bid was as much as 40% less than a competitor.

This is the second time I've used Garden Home Plumbing, and if anything I love them even more! Our house was built in 1938 and has all the old house issues. In 2017, Derek came out and unplugged a heavily clogged bathroom sink. This time, after I'd found water dripping from the shower into the basement, I feared the worst. However, Derek took a look, told me the problem wasn't with the pipes but with the shower faucet which, I admit, hadn't been working well for years, and promptly replaced the Delta shower valve cartridge and put on a new spout, all in the space of an hour.

He wore a mask and took proper Covid precautions throughout, which I appreciated. He is pleasant and professional. His wife, Lani, handles the booking and billing and she is a delight to work with also. The final bill was very reasonable. I wouldn't use anyone else but Garden Home plumbing for my plumbing needs.

Derek and Lani are awesome! I suspect the two negative reviews are from customers with little experience dealing with contractors. Believe me, Derek is not like others in his field. He's much more conscientious and actually takes pride in his trade.

Derek completed two separate jobs for me in the Spring of 2017. I was impressed when Lani CALLED me to inquire about my satisfaction with the work after each job wrapped up. Again, this is something very few in the industry would ever do! Because I was pleased with the service received, I recently referred my mother to Garden Home Plumbing & Drain. My mother also found Derek and Lani to be very helpful and honest. We both would not only recommend Garden Home, we intend to hire them for future plumbing needs.

I really dreaded calling a plumber because so many are untrustworthy. Luckily I called these guys and their excellent customer service and professionalism put me at ease. I am a happy customer and won't hesitate to call them next time I'm in need of a plumber.

Derek is a good plumber and a good person. He and Lani run an honest, efficient business.
The Kohler Forte K-10412-CP is a very nice faucet. Get the one from George Morlan. It may be better than the one of the same name from big box stores.

Yes!!Yes!!Yes!! Don't even consider anyone else! garden home plumbing was referred to me by my sister. She was so pleased. Derek did such great work, at our house as well, and at the lowest price I found!! If you go anywhere else you're a fool! I was quoted over 3 times as much by Three Mountains Plumbing. Derek removed our old, broken water heater, did the most professional job of installing the high quality (made in the USA) water heater, cleaned up everything and on top of that...he's really nice! This man should be charging twice the price. If you want someone to make your day, hire Derek from garden home plumbing. He has years of knowledge and experience and he stands by his work!

I can't say enough about how wonderful this company is! We've owned our home for 15+ years now and, needless to say, had a few plumbing issues over the years. I've tried a number of local plumbing companies and each time there have been corners cut or the job has come in at a higher than quoted price. Some of these guys can be outright skeevy.

Not the case with this company. I have NEVER been so pleased with the work done-- a simple shower/tub valve replacement. They even took a bit of time to correct a problem I had with a hose bib incorrectly installed by another company. The price was right, the pride in work done was so very evident. Clean, conscientious, on time, and extremely professional. We have saved their business card and it will be the only one we use for our future plumbing problems.

Derek did a great job of clearing a clog in the valve if our shower/tub. He was careful and respectful of our home and was very easy to work with. Replacing the valve would have been much more expensive and involved. He thought outside the box and got it done in good time. We will go to home first for any other work.

So disappointed. We understand that contractors are extremely busy right now but to lead us on for nearly a week just to tell us you probably can't is terrible. We appreciated their initial response but that's where the care seem to end. Maybe our job wasn't significant enough for them?... Either way please just let people know your company's true limitation at the beginning so customers can adjust accordingly. We wouldn't have wasted anyone's time if we knew you probably can't get to us. We did everything you asked by submitting details & photos of the work we needed done (which I was just told were never opened) & in return we get nothing but frustration and more wasted time.

I called Garden Home Plumbing to see if they could help me with a water heater issue. While they were completely honest and said they could, but it would be over a week before they could because they were so busy (yay for their business), she still took the time to talk me through the issue and offered another company's service if I needed it done quicker. So refreshing! And if I could have waited a week, I definitely would have gone with them based on the customer service level alone.

I called Garden Home Plumbing to fix what was a relatively easy issue, with some not-so-simple twists.

They arrived on time, took a look at the issue and clearly explained what was going on and the options to fix it. Derek prescribed a very straightforward solution, gave me instruction on the parts of the project that I could do myself and fixed the core issue quickly and cleanly.

A few days later, my regular contractor took a look at the work they had done, and was really impressed.

Best part of the experience . . . Derek's wife called to check up on his work and make sure he did a good job. Not sure if I could handle my wife calling my clients and checking in on their satisfaction levels.

They were also much more affordable that the roto-rooter type franchise guys.

Dereck was on time and worked efficiently to replace the waste and overflow on my tub. His prices were fair and reasonable as opposed to some of the other outfits who wanted port-to-port (travel charges from their office to my place) and truck charges just for having the truck show up. Four days after he did the work, I got a call from his company asking me if I was happy with the work he did. What!! Customer Satisfaction check?? Awesome!!! I will used this service again and I do recommend this company.

This was our third time utilizing Garden Home Plumbing's services. All of Derek's visits have been great, but this one was the best. Our water heater gave up the ghost and we were having a hot water emergency. Derek removed the old one and replaced it super quick and at a very reasonable price. He is super friendly (and funny!) and his business/office manager, Lonnie is amazing. I can't recommend this business enough.

Derek with Garden Home Plumbing took care of our plumbing problem, gave us straight advice, and even fixed another issue for us while he was here. His hourly rates are very reasonable and he doesn't charge a ton for parts either. He helped us sort through our problem and presented various options to choose from.

Definitely be working with him when the next plumbing issue comes up.

Update:
I had mentioned the sink complaint was part of a larger job. Today we had another plumber out due to a toilet they installed for us had water come out around the base when it was flushed. It is a not-often used toilet in the basement - located near that utility sink. Today's plumber informed us it had been installed incorrectly. If their response to the original issue was not to deny the issue & note here they would only discuss with my elderly mother (who they already had lied to), it wouldn't even be worth my time to update this review. As it is - years later & we STILL feeling the sting of calling these guys.

Derek has always been outstanding. I first used him about 10 years ago when I got tired of replacing the drain pipe under the kitchen sink and having it leak, over and over and over. Then and there I decided given how affordable and effective his work was, I wouldn't waste my time anymore doing my own plumbing work. Two houses later, still call on Derek when I have a plumbing problem, when I redid my shower, when I had a new sink and dishwasher plumbed in for a remodel, and I'm planning on calling him soon to repair the hose bib that stopped working.

Garden Home Plumbing exemplifies customer service and honesty. Something that bothers me about a lot of plumbers out there, especially with larger outfits, is the constant up-sell for things that aren't really needed. Derek's straight-shooter mentality is a breath of fresh air because the last thing I want to do is deal with a used car salesman up-sell when my bathroom is torn apart. You can count on the best level of craftsmanship and real world quotes on only what you need. If you only need a gasket, guess what? You just get a gasket! If however, you do need something more extensive, you can count on both an excellent price and turn around time. Go ahead and just put this guy in your contacts right now... Highly recommended!

My wife and I researched a couple of dozen of the top rated and/or most popular plumbing companies in the PDX region, and Garden Home were at the top by ratings and overall price/professionalism.

We have had issues with two sinks in our home, and scheduled a call for Derek to come out and troubleshoot/fix. My wife met him and was very pleased with his work, the final bill, and his depth of knowledge. It really seems like these folks are out there to just do a great job and they deserve their stellar reputation.

We will definitely do business with Derek and Lani again!

Excellent service... prompt, friendly and fair. I called them out to replace a corroded shut off valve so my new dishwasher could be installed.

While here, Derek noticed how the hot water in the kitchen was just a trickle. He fixed that, too. I had gotten used to it being that way, but now that it's fixed, it's so much better!

I'm very happy with Garden Home Plumbing. Thank you Derek and Lani!
