I just used Roto-Rooter for a backed up kitchen sink.  There was someone at my door 55 minutes after calling in my request!  (Independence, KY) Dwayne was the plumber that showed up, and he was very professional and courteous. Not only is the drain cleared, but he was so conscientious of the clean up.  He also started my dishwasher and waited for the first cycle to drain just to make sure there wasn't a leak. This is the 2nd time we've used Roto-Rooter and we've been very satisfied both times. Thank you!

We had been without hot water for 3 weeks waiting for our warranty to get approved. We got to a point where we couldn't wait any longer and called Roto-Rooter. They came out that day, assessed our situation and had us up and running before 5:00!

Jonathon was so great, he worked quickly and efficiently. Would absolutely call him again!

We liked that they came to our home without having to pay a service call, and the price quote is the same whether evening, weekends, or holidays. The service man was very professinonal and clearly explained what needed to be done to fix our plumbing issues. He had a video of the sight where the problem lies, so I felt he was correct with what needs to be done to prevent this from happening in the future.

I had a pretty good sewage backup in my house. They showed up on time and were friendly and professional. They did a thorough job and spent 2.5 hours fixing my backed up pipes. Go to their website and get the $40 off any service coupon.

Chase, #1887, was great to work with.  He came to our home in Waynesville, Ohio, within the timeframe allotted. He communicated with us every step along the way to get our septic pump replaced.  He was professional and fixed the problem.

Tech Chris came out today was early! He had a trainee with him. They were both very professional. The drain in our laundry room needed augered. We had a coupon, but it was just a little expensive for our taste. The techs were both awesome! They even cleaned up their mess and didn't get it on my carpet! #plumber #RotoRooter

If I could give Roto-Rooter negative stars I would. They are con-artist and are only interested in maxing your insurance claim. I had a simple water back-up due to a hard rainfall. I had 3 inches of water in my basement. Instead of sending a plumber first they sent a self proclaimed water clean up guy who had no tools and all he did was take pictures and process to have me tell him what my maximum claim could be (5k or 10k) then go figure it's going to cost me 5k but wait that doesn't include the water removal they are telling me thats the cost to clean after the plumber removes the water. I told him no, that's ridiculous I just need this 3 inches of water out he promptly said ok nevermind the plumber will be here when he gets here. What!!!! I contacted them at 4:30 am and he came at 8 am. The actual plumber did not show up until 4 hours later. Worst service ever they are theives Do NOT USE. Don't trust the name or advertising they do bad business. I'm 78 years old and never been so upset with a service.

Never, never, never use these guys.

While an emergency might feel like you need to settle for them, I assure you there are not many emergencies that will be worth it in the end.

They do NOT clean-up their job site when they are finished (imagine what that might look like with what they are dealing with), but instead have a service they provide from another unit of their company that will be more than glad to do it....at a tremendous cost.

We had a sewer line back-up, contacted them, and they came out.  When speaking with their dispatch, I specifically made mention of job site cleanup and she said, Of course! and made it sound crazy that I would ask.

When the technician (David) had completed the job, he refused.  He said he would have his manager contact me.  His manager (Tony) said they have two different units that perform the plumbing portion and the cleanup portion.  The cleanup portion would be out the next day.  He also said it was covered by most insurance agencies.  (I Googled it after our phone call, and that's not true.)

A sales rep showed up and said it would cost $2000!!!  It is not covered by insurance and we ended up having to clean up the mess ourselves.

Don't use these guys under any circumstances.  Over-promise, under-deliver.  Pass everything on to the next person you deal with.

EDIT:  *Found a company that did Roto-Rooters cleanup for $300, not $2000 like Roto-Rooter was going to charge.  Avoid these guys

I am a widowed Senior who lies alone with my two doggies & my kitty.  As a 77 year old I'm unable to get around very well, so when my main drain in the basement overflowed I knew I had a serious problem.  I called Roto-Rooter and in about one hour two technicians arrived and reviewed my problem.  They offered several alternatives and options with pricing, to fix my problem.  They were very professional and polite and after I selected the best option for me they went to work immediately.  They corrected my drain problem promptly and completely.  I definitely will call Roto-Rooter again for any and all drain or plumbing problems I may have.

On January 26th 2022 I called my local Roto-Rooter and explained that I had a clogged kitchen drain. The woman I spoke with told me that she could have someone out that afternoon. I made the appointment and inquired about their pricing structure. She said that it depends on the job.
That afternoon the technician showed up. I showed him the problem and he told me that it would cost $565.00. I was shocked and I freely admit that I agreed to the price since our sink could not be used and had also started to leak due to the standing water. I know I could have told them to leave, but I didn't (had I known the price to free a clogged drain at the outset I certainly would have shopped around). Less than an hour later the problem was solved. The average plumber in Westchester County charges around $175/hour. When I called the local Roto-Rooter this morning and related the above I was told that, that's the standard price for a clogged drain ($565.00). Why were they unable to tell me this when I called initially? She said that it is Roto-Rooter's policy not to give prices over the phone. I feel that this is a disingenuous business practice that is in place to take advantage of customers who are anxious to have their plumbing problem resolved as soon as possible, before further damage can occur. This is just like someone selling bottles of water for exorbitant prices after a natural disaster or N95 masks for $20 each during the pandemic. I emailed Pat Swanson at customer service and got a non-response. I then telephoned and left a message and got no response. Telling, I think, that they would not comment on their pricing structure before or after the job.

This is now the third time we have used roto-rooter cincinnati in the past 2 years for plumbing services.  Each time they have been very quick to respond to our service requests, fixing the issue very quickly and with high quality work.

The most recent experience has been the best and was even the most complicated of the 3 jobs.  We had water supply lines rerouted, waste lines cleared and Re-plumbed for our laundry area.  Russel came out on a Saturday within 1 hour of our call and gave us several options and estimates for each.  We decided on the best option for us and he came back the following day, a Sunday evening, to complete the work.  This ended up being about a 6 hour job.  Russel was a true professional and explained everything he did and why he did things the way he did and answered all of our questions. Highly recommend root-rooter.  I will look nowhere else for all plumbing needs in the future.

You all charged me $400 and sent this heavy set man who sat on my broken toilet when I asked for him not to do that.
He didn't move so I went into the other room, gave him some space.
I asked if the problem was fixed. He said, Yes
It was not fixed.
I had to call Dooley PLumbing and they charge $299 and fixed the probelm.
I asked the guy from Dooley what he did and he showed me (in the basement). I asked if that had been fixed; he said it had never been off.
You all never reimbursed me my money. I will never use you again.

Completely agree with previous posters: this company is simply not ethical and management do not care about your experience. Their service and process for replacing my water heater was unprofessional, dangerous, and misinformed. I have taken my complaints to Roto-Rooter both locally and HQ, with no result. Their response went so far as to blame me for undertaking the work they recommended, which was based on the plumber's assertion that there was carbon monoxide leaking out of the brand new water heater they installed. A scary issue! OF COURSE I'm going to move heaven and earth to fix said problem. Their recommendation resulted in my undertaking nearly $1,000 in additional work that was proven to be extraneous by another company and without use of the new hot water for 10 days while I waited to fix the problem. RR is nonplussed with my complaints about the professionalism of the two plumbers they sent, their product knowledge, and the scary situation they told me I was in.
One revealing thing I learned in this process about RR, and admitted to me by Joseph Nixon in management when I asked point blank if their plumbers carry carbon monoxide testers: the answer is no. Their plumbers do not test for carbon monoxide and do not have the ability to. So BUYER BEWARE, they're installing gas-connected devices and couldn't tell you whether they're correctly connected or not based on carbon monoxide readings. They use their hands to test for air flow, which is what my plumber did. I believed him when he told me it wasn't flowing correctly, and I feel like a fool for doing so, as it turns out there was never a problem to begin with. When handling gas-connected appliances, why a professional company with so much danger and risk related to their work and the home they are working in would not continually test for natural gas/CO levels with an mechanical device that can certify safety is truly inexcusable.
I'd highly recommend Williams Heating and Air for your pluming and HVAC needs in Indianapolis. Roto-Rooter is simply unsafe and not up to par with product knowledge.
