Alex & Elsie Menyhardt started our company in 1928 primarily as a Plumbing Service Co. Their nephew Steve joined our Co. In 1957 & helped grow the Parts Dept, which became an Extremely Important part of our Business. Our Parts Dept continued to grow it's Repair Parts by keeping Prices Competitive & Offering Expert Advice. We continue to Stock hard to find parts. If Menyhardt Plumbing doesn't have it, or can't get it, it's probably not available anymore.

HISTORY

I’m the 3rd generation to run Menyhart Plumbing & Heating Supply Company. Founded by my Great Aunt Elsie and Great Uncle Alex in 1928. After their passing, my Dad, Steve Menyhart, ran the company up until his passing in 2018. I’ve been working in our family business since 1986.

After looking all over Cleveland for a tub drain for a deep tub, I found it at Menyhart for a better price than online.

They have everything you'll need for older and newer fixtures.

The line of contractors almost out the door tells you all you need to know, they know what they are doing.

In a world of Amazon and Big Box retailers, take a drive down Lorain, you won't be disappointed.

If you have a plumbing question or problem, do yourself a favor. Skip the big boxes and head straight for Menyhart for excellent friendly service every time. Expert advice and no bullshit. If your part doesn't need to be replaced, they will not sell you a new one just because they can. If they don't have it they'll order it in and tell you exactly how to fix your problem. Menyhart has saved us several times and we are truly lucky to have such an awesome local spot like this.

These guys not only know their stuff, they have an awesome inventory, and are problem solvers. I brought in two 70 year old American Standard stems that were leaking and Rick was super helpful in getting me headed in the right direction. Without special ordering anything, he provided new washers and even put them on the brass stems for me. His help and expertise leads me to believe I gave this antique sink another 30 years of life. That's good stuff!

Seriously only one review. WHAT???? The only place to go for plumbing, heating air conditioning. You hand them a part, they look at it, go to the back and come out with a new one. The right part every single time. Often times for a fraction of the price you would pay at Home Depot. I love Menyhart, love waiting in line close enough to hear their expert advice to the customers in front of me. Are we lucky here in Cleveland to have Menyhart. Hecky yeah! For plumbing, heating don't even bother wasting your time at Home Depot. Menyhart a blast from the past. And yes they did build that.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but, this place really is the only place you should go to for your plumbing needs. They have everything you could possibly need plus the advice to go along with it. As one of the reviewers said, you can take something 100 years old or something new...I took a piece of plumbing from my rental which was built in 1897 and they had it, I took something from my current home built in 2006 and they had it. I cannot tell you how many times I have gone to a big box store only to be told...we dont have that, go to a plumbing specialty store. Their advice is spot on too. The best part is, even if you dont know a thing about plumbing, when you ask a question they dont look at you or talk to you like your an idiot like some specialty supply stores do, or make you feel like your wasting their time, they genuinly want to help you.

no charge for advice

Save yourself the time, the gas, and the cash when you need anything from a washer to a hunk of pipe. Bring them your hundred year old pieces of broken plumbing from a century home, or replace the crappy fixtures from your McMansion. They store over 8000 parts and will not only give you the correct ones, they will give you detailed instruction. I never go to the big box hardware store for anything plumbing related when Menyhart can take perfect care of you the first time, every time. And you can brush up on your Hungarian 101.

I brought in an old obscure broken part. They took one look at it and came back with exactly what I needed. It worked first try when I got home. I would come back for anything plumbing related.

We have been dealing with Steve for years. Very honest people and good prices. If you need plumbing advise for the do-it-yourselfer, this is the place to go. Also have many parts that other places do not have for the older fixtures and faucets. They are the best. A++++++++++++++++++++

I had a plumber give me an estimate to fix my tub for about $1000, $400 for the parts and $600 for labor. I had been told to check out Menyhart for the part. The guy there looked at it, and said we have it', went to the storage room, came back and took a lot of stress off my plate, all the while being the most pleasant salesperson I've met in along time. I fixed my leaking tub for $69

My dad recommended that I visit this shop to buy a thermocouple for my malfunctioning hot water tank. I called and they advised me as to the correct part to purchase. The part was affordable and my hot water tank began working when I replaced it. I wish other plumbing supply shops had their level of knowledge and inventory. Definitely recommend.

I called from out of state looking for local parts for my mother in law's old shower. Straight talk, good advice, and referred an excellent plumber (Jim at Mr. Pipeline) who happened to walk in the store just after he had been recommended! The plumber took the parts (extras just in case) with him and the work was done today - earlier than estimated and for about half what I thought it would cost.
