This company is TRASH!  I called to have someone come look at my hot water heater that is leaking.  Have had it for 16 years.  We are aware it probably has to be replaced.  Spoke with someone on Thursday evening,  someone came out on Friday (late but it was communicated).  Scheduled service for install on Saturday (TODAY) between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.  Well that time came and went with no communication what so ever.  No text, no phone call, NOTHING!  So I call ARS not once, not twice, but 3 TIMES.  Got a different rep each time.  The first and last person were nice.  The 2nd person which was a male was VERY RUDE!  Unnecessary rude at that, sir if I'm having an issue and it's not your probem fine but don't be a complete mean person about it.  YOU are in customer service if you don't like your job FIND A NEW ONE!  So each rep stated they were reaching out to a manager.  So this manager has 3 messages to call or communicate in some way NOTHING.  Well since you all are completely DISRESPECTFUL of my time and do not have COMMON DECENCY to at least reach out I've CANCELLED my order and WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!  THANK GOD FOR ROTO ROOTER!!  They came out within 30 minutes of my online inquiry TODAY and replaced my hot water heater TODAY!!  You all should work on your approach to handling business because you are HORRIBLE!!!

REVIEW UPDATE: Monday July 11, 2022 Jason reaches out to investigate what happened with my service.   Come to find out a few things weren't done to ensure my order was completed appropriately.   People didn't show up to work, etc.  I appreciate Jason for his interest in making this right.  Jason also compensated me for the frustration.   Jason gets a 5-Star as he was a great person to speak with regarding my experience with this company.   I will at least consider utilizing this company in the future.  Thank you Jason for your professionalism, kindness, and care.  You are a gem.

I wish could rate this organization a zero.  I contracted them to clear a clogged kitchen drain.  When they left my home I had a slow drain and a puncture in my drain line.  They tried to patch the leak, but 2 weeks later I had water running out of the patch.  A new technician came to assess the situation and told me it would cost $650 to fix the hole that his colleague created.  This was in addition to the $350 I already paid.  I requested a call from his manager to discuss the situation and pricing - two days later I'm still waiting on that call.  In the mean time I still have a bucket under the leak. Poor service while on site, poorer service from management to not follow up. Avoid using this company.

Called them to come out and look at leak from
A pvc pipe in unfinished basement. While quick to assign a plumber to come out, the guy had no pvc pipe in his truck! How is that possible?! So he billed over an hour of time to go get a 4 inch piece of pvc, cut it and glue it. But here is the kicker-the leak is still there in the exact same place! Not to mention he pulled the one pipe out of the drain in the basement leaving it disconnected. $300+ later and I'm now sitting on hold waiting to get someone else to come back out. Save yourself the headaches and call eco plumber next time.
Just sat on hold for 25 minutes so used their online chat service to which I was told there must be a technical issue of why you can't get to an agent so WE will call you back. Really-should I hold my breath for that?!!!

Called and scheduled an emergency plumbing service for Wednesday evening and even received a text confirming the appointment. Called a while after the expected time to find out they rescheduled my emergency appointment for Friday. Glad I can't shower for two days...

I have dealt with Rescue Rooter many times when I worked at the Post Office.  Always very quick response and took care of our issues.  When things backed up at home I knew who to call.  Corbin showed up within hours, found my issue but was not able to clear it.  Recommended septic service.  No charge.  Thank you!

I needed a CPVC elbow replaced in an easily accessible area on the hot water side of my water heater die to a pin hole leak.   I figured parts would be no more than 30.00 and that was a stretch.    Tech came out on time to give me free estimate.  She wanted to charge me 349.00 to replace a simple elbow.   Probably would have taken 30 minutes to 45 max.  That is 300.00 an hour!!!  Crazy!!! I said no thanks.   I have done business before but likely not anymore.   Price was way out of line.

I was put in contact with ARS Rescue Rooter through Lowe's when I needed a new hot water tank installed. I was given an estimate of $2,626 because I was told that major changes to the plumbing would need to be made due to the slightly larger tank diameter and the new drip pan it would set in. These changes would include the cold water intake, the hot water outlet, the vent pipe for the relief valve and the drain for the new drip pan, which is now a code requirement. As it turns out, other than the new shut off valve, no changes what-so-ever had to be made to the cold or hot water lines. The vent pipe for the relief valve was directed into the drip pan and not vented to the outside and there was no drain provided for the drip pan. It was put in place as is. So basically I paid $2,626 to have a $500 hot water tank installed in only 1 hour and 45 minutes. I wish I could post the before and after pictures so people could see this. I sent an e-mail, including the before and after pictures to the estimator concerning this and he has not yet responded.

They rescheduled 3 different days, called several times they would be late.     The last time I tried to schedule them, they were scheduled 10a-noon and called several times and didn't show up until 7:30p at night. I cancelled. Don't waste your time.

I'm writing this on a Sunday morning before 10 AM, since a rather rude person from ARS chose to call me at 9:00 AM on this day. I don't have any problems with the service, per se (I think the plumber could have done things faster if he was more experienced, but I'm ok with the service as a whole), but the way they handled their communication with me was horrible.

The plumber agreed to charge me $500 for services, which I agreed to, however, when he left yesterday (Saturday), he said that his tablet wasn't allowing him to put in a custom price. Fine, no problem, just invoice me the correct amount and I'll pay it. Should be easy-peasy.

A ill-tempered woman called me this morning and told me that if I didn't pay the $500, they would put a lien on my home TOMORROW (Monday). Hunh? I still don't have an invoice! I told her that I needed one so that I knew exactly what I was paying for. Her answer was that she would send an invoice AFTER I paid. That would be a receipt, not an invoice. Either way, she demanded that I pay her that moment, which I refused to do since I wasn't in a position to get to a credit card at that moment, and, for heaven's sake, I still didn't have an invoice.

I'm not sure who this company is used to dealing with, but even the lawnmower kid here sends me an invoice, which I pay well within the 30-day period that is customary for these types of services. I don't need to be called on a Sunday morning and threatened with a lien for the following day. I was actually thinking of writing at least a three or four-star review based on the services,  but ARS has successfully screwed that up with their crappy after service. Lien on my house on Monday? Bad (but honest) review for you on Sunday...

It's the holidays. Our kitchen sink won't drain but since it happened on the 12/23, we decided to diy the situation. By 12/24, we couldn't fix it so we decided to call a plumber. BUT since it's Christmas, we decided to wait until 12/26. We called 614 plumbers, who never called us back. We called plumbing and drain professionals, who also never called us back. We called eco plumbers who on their answering machine stated they would call us back in 15 minutes, well they didn't and we called roto rooters who kept rescheduling the appointment for two days because they can't get their act together and just won't show up. FINALLY, called ARS plumbing. They were honest if they could give me an appointment. They gave me a 2 hour time frame. They communicated. Sam showed up as scheduled. Did an excellent job. Very thorough. Discussed with us what was wrong. The price quoted was fair. I got my kitchen back and will be prepping meals for the new year since we ate takeout for Christmas.

725.00 To replace a faucet and put a part in my toilet. My fault i accepted the price but after he got the parts it took him less than 20 minutes to make the repairs. I did not get a break down of the work done. Just a invoice for 725.00. After reading the reviews i see i am not the only one getting taken.

I am a Realtor in the Central Ohio area...my seller had an issue with the sump pump and contacted ARS Rescue Rooter. They installed it for $500.00 which I thought was outrageous but she contacted them on her own.
A few days past and we found a leak that we knew where it was and she contacted ARS once again to ask if they offered free estimates to repair. They responded yesand she made the appointment for them to come out and give an estimate of the repair.
BUT - instead, after the homeowner showed the tech where the leak was at , he then looked at it and responded with a charge to her for $79.00 for a diagnostic quote. BTW she NEVER received a quote or estimate for the repair.
The homeowner felt pressured to pay the invoice, which was to be a FREE estimate and because they called it diagnostic they get away with that BS....
So I contacted ARS office and let them know it was to be a free estimate and not diagnostic because the tech was told where the leak was by the homeowner.  Jodi (office manager) which was extremely rude said there was nothing that could be done...so I asked who was the manager and she gave me Jason's name as the GM.
Contacted Jason the next business day and he was doing a dance around the words FREE and DIAGNOSTIC....he also spoke to the homeowner and was rude to her as well...she was going to put a stop payment on her CC until this was resolved.

WARNING ABOUT ARS - This homeowner trusted what she was told since she trusted them to install the sump pump...but if you contact this company , I hope you do not get taken like she did....so sad that you cannot trust this company to do what they say....TRUST ...and ARS is not a word you can use together....Rant over...

BEWARE! I confirmed with two separate employees today on the phone (before the tech even arrived at the house)  that the estimate would be free and there would be NO additional charges if we decided to go with the repair or not. Surprise!  We decided to only do partial repair on our kitchen sink and garage disposal because the full repair was outrageous.  The full repair was quoted at $350. For that much I could drive down the road to Lowes and buy a brand new sink AND garage disposal.
The tech was nice enough,  and I understand he's just doing what the job (and higher ups) require. But when he gives us the repair charge there is a mysterious trip fee that is apparently added on to all jobs,  regardless if work is done or not.  Totally not what i was told earlier today by two people. So I call to complain.  I talk to a manager who was professional enough,  but said Unfortunately that $29 trip fee cannot be taken off, regardless of what we were told today.
I informed them they lost a customer,  and that i won't be recommending them to anyone i know.  Ill be calling the small time independent plumbers from now on. These corporations have gotten out of control with hidden fees.

We had a very bad clog in our pipes leading from  our kitchen sink. The clog  was 70 -75 feet from the kitchen sink. Freddy C of ARS  came to our home  within the promised  time and professionally removed the clog.
Freddy was knowledgeable , courteous and very polite. He cleaned up our mess and was very sensitive in keeping our  home clean with all the messy work he had to do. The cost was fair and if we have other plumbing issues we will call ARS/ Rescue Rooter.

Prices are WAY too high! My toilet would not stop running so I called this company to take a look. The quote was free which was great! However the cost to have the parts in the tank replaced was $336 or $950 for a brand new tank and installation. Yes, $950! The replacement and parts better all be solid gold for that price! Needless to say, I won't be hiring them for this or any other plumbing job. Giving the 3 stars for the free quote, friendly customer service and prompt appointment scheduling (same-day service).

So grateful to rescue router, they were able to come the same day when our washing machine started to overflow. Turns out roots that had grown in our pipes, but Evan was able to clear them out. He arrived on time and got right to it. He also took the time to explain what he was doing. PS: Never flush tampons!!!

The hot water tank leaked on a Friday evening. Leo came out that evening, turned off the water and gas, and provided an estimate on both a standard gas water heater and (at our request) an on-demand water heater. He did not charge us for the after-hours visit!
We called back on Monday and scheduled the installation of the standard heater for Wednesday. On Wednesday morning, their office called to tell us that the job had to be postponed until Thursday morning because another job ran over. On Thursday afternoon Leo and his colleague installed the new heater in less than three hours. They did a great job. The only inconvenience was the rescheduling of the appointment, but we appreciated that they called to let us know about it. We would use them again.

These guys have helped me out several times. I live out of town and have a house in Columbus. They sent someone out within an hour on a Saturday and made coordinating with my renters easy.

Last year when I had several problems they worked on it until it was in good shape.

They are my 'go to' guys whenever I have drain problems.

This is not a serious business. Do not trust this company. I scheduled an appointment for 2/20/2018. The rep stated that a tech will be at my home after 1pm. At 11 am jody called stating that the company has customers with serious plumbing issues and that my appointment must be reschedule for later at around 5 pm. I called ARS 10 mins before 5 pm and Jody stated in a condescending tone that other customers have serious back up issues and that she will send a plumber later in the evening. She called at 5:46pm and left a message. I called ARS at 6pm and Jody stated that she sent the plumber to a different location because I did not answer the phone. Jody is a joke. Also, this company lost a lot of business.

I really didn't want to give them the one star but it was required. The plumber finally got here just before 4 PM. When I called for the appointment yesterday I told them that it was the kitchen sink and NOT the main line that needed snaked. They assured me that the $89 coupon WAS for snaking that drain!  They recorded the call and we went over this several times before I set the appointment in the 8 AM - Noon window. I also asked if they could note that I request as early as possible because I had an event please. Well, when he got here he told me the coupon was ONLY for the main line and not the kitchen sink... This work would START at $350 and go upwards from there because I used Liquid Plumber. I am royally pissed. This company is ARS Rescue Rooter in Columbus, Ohio. I guess they are aptly named because they were a pain in my ars. They not only wasted 8 hours of my day waiting (missing my event), lied to me, and bait & switched on the price. I DO NOT recommend them if you need a plumber!

What a thorough job that was done by ARS and Nick Young corrected our drain issue. Professional and caring of our home. I recommend them highly. We will use them again. Servicing us late on a Friday and a return visit on Saturday to complete the job, exceeded our expectations explaining what was done and how to make sure it did not happen again.

We had issues with our water heater on Sunday (yesterday). I was pleased that we could have someone come out to take a look and let us know what we needed to do. The office offered a 30 min call ahead prior to someone arriving (which we did not get). The gentleman that arrived looked at our water heater and stated he didn't have the parts necessary to fix the problem. Fine. We set up a window to have a tech come out this morning between 8-12, ***requesting a 30 min call ahead*** at roughly 11:50 am we had heard nothing, so we called. We were unapologeticly told that they were just about to call us, they were slammed with emergencies and would need to change our window to between 2-6pm. It would have been nice to have a heads up. It would have been polite to do that for customers that have been waiting all morning. The woman who answered the phone simply interrupted the concerns voiced and was rude. I've worked in customer service for 13 years. This is UNACCEPTABLE. If you cannot take the work, simply voice that. It's understandable. We would have made other arrangements. I've been at home all day and have not heard from them. It's after the 6pm window. We FINALLY received a call at 6:30.  They have inconvenienced my entire family.

Had them install iron remover and reverse osmosis filter system, they seemed to do a decent job. I called them back to repair a toilet, said they'd come Friday between 1-6pm. They called at 5:30pm to say they couldn't make it until the next day between 12-4. That's no big deal, things come up, emergencies, etc. Next day comes around and they never show up, don't even bother to call.  I took off 10hrs of work to be home to let them in. WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN. Unacceptable.

Very fast and very professional.
We had an unpleasant experience when our main drain line from the house backed up very late on a Saturday night.
John Howard from Rescue Rooter was at our house within one hour.
He cleaned the drain thoroughly and quickly.
And he was very courteous and careful with our house.
We will use this business again.

ARS Rescue Rooter came out the same day I called. We had a leak in our kitchen water lines and had to turn the main water valve off to our house. Carlos arrived and was very friendly. He looked over everything that I needed him to look at, provided an estimate and there was no pressure in regards to accepting it or not. I thought the price was very reasonable. Carlos went to the supply shop to get all the supplies he needed and fixed everything I asked him to. He went above and beyond what I expected and I was very very pleased. Thank you to him and ARS Rescue Rooter for making my experience hassle-free, quick and efficient! You never realize the dependency upon water until you don't have it! Less than 24 hours and I was already going crazy! Thank you again!

I have had to deal with these guys a couple times with the company I work for. Wow!  While a couple times I have had no problem with their service. Have unclogged my drains a couple times and went above and beyond. Other than that, stay away. I had a hot water heater need to have a clean out run through and my heater ended up breaking a day later. I needed a sink drain fixed. It wouldn't hold water and it took 3 days and it still isn't fixed. I quit dealing with them for anything but drain clogs. Only reason they get a star at all

Give them half called Roto Rooter about my pilot light not lighting on my water heater. Roto Rooter was only in the house less than five minutes the guy stated the water heater is old and should be replaced. Decided on second opinion so I went with ARS Rescue Rooter guy came out took the time and tried several times to light the pilot light with no avail. He stated it was the control valve and that would need replaced picked the part up at Lowes here is where they lose stars called set up an appointment for Monday 8AM-12PM time frame the worker never showed up until about 12:45 PM then looks at the part and tells me he is not a gas man and he is not qualified to install the part and that a person can be available at 2 PM. I work a 2nd shift job so there was no way that was going to happen and it was hard enough waiting 8AM - 12:45PM on a day I work to have a worker tell me he is not qualified to install the part. So decided to set up an appointment for the same time on my day off I have a feeling the same scenario will happen that is why I am choosing my day off.

Aaron was helpful with all information for the repairs needed and worked with me to get a proper price
He even changed the date for repairs in the backyard by a day to accommodate my changing schedule.  He came back to camera the line before I paid on the work that was completed the same day as scheduled.

Chris and John who actual ran the equipment and repaired the section of sewer line were very careful to get items out of the way and cause as little as possible any damage to the yard, trees and Christmas decorations.  Their work was impressive and done as if it was their own yard and home.   Thank you!

I thank all of them for the job well done and their time and information for the completed job.

I would recommend this team of guys to anyone in need of sewer replacement in their home and yard.

Aaron came to the house after I called about a pilot light that would not stay lit on my hot water tank. Positives: immediate call back from dispatcher and Aaron was there within 15 minutes of his arriving at work. Free estimate, and no charge to come out and diagnose the problem. Disappointments: Aaron came in, lay on the floor and attempted to light my water heater pilot. It was doing the same thing, not staying lit. He told me that the unit was over 10 years old and informed me that any work he did on the unit would not have a warranty because of it's age. He diagnosed it as a bad gas valve and verbally recommended that I buy a new unit because hot water tanks have an average life span of 5-10 years, and mine was 10 years old. He also said that I could fix the bad gas valve. I asked what the cost would be for a new gas valve and he left to draw up my estimate. He gave me 3 options. Estimate #1 $3,900 for a new tankless water heater (pointed out the benefits of never running out of water and 25 year life expectancy), #2 $1,080 for a replacement hot water tank comparable to my current, option #3 $400 to replace the gas valve with no warranty on the work provided. Aaron was never pushy about options, laid them out for me, and I told him I would think about it. He gave his card and left. I called another plumber for a second opinion. Something didn't feel right. I didn't see how my problem could be diagnosed by his attempts to relight the pilot and 5 minute visual assessment. The second opinion was much more informed. The safety reset sensor had tripped, which stops the pilot from staying lit. All that needed done was the reset button needed pushed!!! This second plumber looked up the actual age of the unit, using the serial number. It is only 5 1/2 years old and is still under warranty. Aaron had quoted the age from the sticker on the unit...the year he said (2006) is on the sticker as notification that the unit meets the plumbing guidelines dated 2006!!!! The second opinion plumber said the safety sensor will trip if it senses gas fumes or cannot get enough air. He reset it, took the tank apart to see if anything was blocking the air flow, and check for the smell of gas.  No issues were found so he reassembled it and said that if it goes out again, they will replace the entire gas assembly at a cost covered by the warranty (except for labor). I am very grateful that I got a second opinion. I am a single mom of 2 and cannot afford to be taken advantage of. I would not recommend this company.

Bought a Big Deal on Angie's List -- I just wanted my toilet water usage addressed with a rebuild -- but Darren politely (no pressure) asked if he could assess my entire plumbing system -- provided great advice and service -- on a cold snowy day replaced an outside spigot which hadn't been usable for years -- took care of the toilets, added a shutoff for the house -- best service ever!  Will definitely call ARS again!!!

Had them out last week for our newly purchased homeand the service was adequate, at best. He cleared the main line but said a secondary line was open but not vented properly. After he left, I took the cover off the mop sink he cleared and dug out old paint and hair and it now drains normally.  The real issue came when I noticed a couple of days later that I was over charged by $1000 over the invoice. When I called, they said they would call me back. I waited 4 hours before I called them again. This time they started the process of refunding the overage. Not a follow up since then or apology.

Was here to clean the main drain. It worked for a couple of days then it did the exact same thing again. They were suppose to send out a camera to look at my drain and never did till I called them out here the 2nd time and when they left this time the whole drain was worse then it was when they started. They didn't like it when I told them I would not hire them to dig up my back yard and replace my main drain. I don't care what I have to do I will never call this company again.

Called and they came out said it would be 350 to snake drain.  The person was in a hurry and did a quick job of snaking the line.  He stated before he started that the line was broken and he could not snake very well.  This was before he had his items out.  was done in 10 minutes.  Said I would need somebody to camera the line said they would call and set up appointment.  waited a week.  Called set up appointment, Took time off from work ( without pay) they never showed.  called and they said sorry and I said ok but was not happy.  Set up second appointment they did not show up again.  Called again this time really up set.  I will not work with this company again.  I had to call another company to finaly do the scope and was told nothing was wrong

In 2002 I was having sewer problems.  After replacing a line in my basement I thought everything was done. It was not.  I had a few other blockages after doing this.  They then used a camera to see what was going on.  I needed to replace the entire line from the stack inside the house to my property line.  Insurance did not pay for this.  It cost me over $13,000 out of my own pocket.   (I did not use Angie's List at the time).  I found a different company and called them.  They have been back many times due to sewer backups.  After they used a camera, it was found Rescue Rooter did not replace the last 10 feet of the line.  This other company is now going to fix the problem for just under $5000.  Out of my own pocket again.
