My shower was only running ice cold water or scalding hot water...no warm. I had called a different company first that had no idea what to do, but they wanted to put holes in my walls. I decided to get a second opinion. Rick from Terry's Plumbing came out and knew exactly what it was and fixed it. It was a valve inside that needed replaced. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything about the hot water tank and why I was having only hot and cold come out. He explained that my hot water tank was set too high and how the water could scald you at that setting. I would definitely recommend Rick, he's the real deal when it comes to being a plumber!

Thank you,

I hired Terry to fix an issue with the main sewer line, he dug it up, said he couldn't fix it, the city will have to fix it.  He still charged me for it.  Being in the business he is in HE KNEW BEFORE HE STARTED THAT HE COULD NOT FIX IT. All I needed was an extension on the cleanout and had I known he could not fix it I would not have hired him.  I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TERRY'S PLUMBING

Bought an old house that needed a new toilet
I ripped out a bathroom myself and redid I needed a correctly installed toilet

This was a pretty straightforward job
Install our new America standard toilet
The phone was answered the toilet installed the next day using my seal
It was clean and simple
Price was ok not cheap but it was done right

We just had a bathroom remodeled and wanted to recommend the company that we used.

They did a stellar job! We had a shower replaced, new toilet, grab bars, new exhaust fan and painted the walls as well. It was basically an almost full bathroom remodel. They even replaced the faucet on the existing vanity too. All done in less than two weeks.

Bob Pearsick was the gentleman who did the work. Bob is very punctual and courteous, along with being a very nice guy.  He let me know of everything he was doing along with his schedule.  He went above and beyond!

We couldn't have asked for a better company to work with, And working with Bob was the icing on the cake.

Oh, and they came in much cheaper than some of the other local companies.

Honest. Honest. Honest. Can't say it enough. These guys will give it to you straight and fix what needs to be fixed and nothing more. Unfortunately Pittsburgh has its share of crooks out there who want to charge you thousands of dollars for a clogged drain. If this ever happens to you.... don't sign a thing and call Terry's. Or... just save yourself the hassle and just call Terry's the second you need a plumber.

A stand up organization who does business the way it should be done... with honesty and integrity. Thank you Terry's plumbing for saving me $2,000 today.

Good experience with Terry's Plumbing a couple of weekends ago. Friendly receptionist who scheduled my appointment although she wasn't able to quote me any ballpark price over the phone.

Had a stop valve replaced and a leaking connection fixed for around $200. Took the plumber about 2-3 hours after some initial hiccups.

I'd use them again.

Terry's plumbing has previously been very good to work with, but two weeks ago we had a plumber come out and to give an estimate that we paid a service fee for and we never received the estimate.  When I called back several times to ask when the estimate would be available I was told the bathroom remodel person was on vacation.  When I called today the person answering the phone wasn't very friendly or kind.  I am disappointed that I had to pay for a service and estimate that I did not receive.

I did not have a good experience with Terry's plumbing. I was told there would be a $70 service call to assess what the issue was - low pressure in my shower. The plumber from Terry's came and was very nice but did almost nothing to assess or fix the issue. When the appointment was over I was charged $122 because the $70 was just for him to show up, not for his time while there. Needless to say I still have low water pressure and no resolution in sight. They also pushed the date back a day which wasn't ideal. I feel like I was overcharged and got nothing out of it.

Called Terry's in for a second opinion. We had the basement sink back up and got a quote for $3500 to repair from another company. Terry the owner showed up 20 minutes within us calling for service. He was polite and to the point. He said he'd have someone here in the AM to take a look. Got a call from the office at 8am to let me know they would be here at 8:30am. They were here at 8:32am!! Took care of the clog in 20 minutes. It was 2 guys and they were polite, clean and professional!! Best part is it cost me for a service charge.  1/20th of the other companies quoted repair cost.  I would highly recommend Terry's Plumbing.

Our incoming water service line was leaking, seeping water into our basement utility room.  Our service line comes in from the street, under our two car garage, and under and up into our utility room.  We initially got an estimate from a plumber that was sent by our home warranty.  This plumber wanted to dig up our utility room to try and find the leak, and if they couldn't find it there, would then replace the line and also said this would not be covered by our home warranty.  We felt uncomfortable with this recommendation and decided to call Terry's Plumbing because they are well known and have a good reputation.

Kathy, their phone scheduler, was friendly and pleasant.  She put Terry on the line and he said he would be out first thing in the morning to look at it.  Terry came as promised on a Saturday morning and reviewed the various options, recommending that the line be replaced.  He said they would use a method in which the pull the new line through by attaching it to the old line and pulling it out through the street, rather than having to dig up our entire basement and garage.  He did caution us that it was not without risk, but that they do it often and that it works well.  We agreed to the work.

After a day delay because the water company had to first come and repair the street valve that was found to be not working, Terry's four man crew arrived the next morning and successfully pulled out the old line, putting the new line in place.  We watched them work the whole time and the whole process was quite impressive.  The backhoe operator, Rege, used amazing precision to carefully pull the line out, which was about 75 feet long I'd guess.  The crew spent about 7 hours on site and cleaned up the job site spotlessly when done.

We were so thankful that this procedure worked and that we did not have to dig up inside.  Plus, Terry really spent time with us making sure we understood the options, pros and cons, and generally reassuring us that his team would take care of the problem and not to worry.  He made numerous calls to me throughout the weekend to help coordinate and advise on the water company involvement and logistics that were needed.  In a nutshell these are good people.

I will use Terry for all my plumbing needs without a doubt.

Terry's Plumbing to the rescue!

On Sunday the 10th, I noticed some water coming into my basement at an impressive rate. Since we moved in October 2015, this had happened a few times with heavy rain, but nothing to this magnitude - it was literally pushing holes in the hydraulic cement i had patched in a few places.

There was a sudden cold snap on the 10th as well, went from nearly 50 degrees the day before, to about 0 degrees in a day - and that was coupled with about a half inch of rain - so I just immediately thought I needed a drain. On the off chance it was a water line, I called my borough and asked them to come and check to make sure that this wasn't the case.

The borough didn't call me back until Monday morning, after which I spent most of the night trying to abate the leaking to no avail. The water company professional told me that he didn't think that it would be a water line, or backed storm drain, because the water lines were new, and there are no storm drains on our street. He also mentioned that with the recent snowfall, that they would have to wait to check the line until there was a dry day and a decrease in traffic to be able to hear if there was a leak.

So, based on that information, I surrendered to the fact that I would most likely need an internal french drain. I called several places, and even a general contractor, all of whom didn't have immediate response times.

This is important, because of what my wife and I had to do whilst waiting for an eval and price we could afford - this was building a levy in my basement to contain the water, using flow dams to try to direct it to drains, and every towel, blanket and sheet in the house needed to be spun out in the washer, and about 30 gallons of water vacuumed out and dumped every 6 hrs, for 7 days, so it didn't completely destroy my basement. We entertained all offers, none were great, but we were going to have to do something soon.

Then, on Thursday night,  I noticed that around my curb box for the water service line had no snow, neither did my hillside, and it was very soggy. So I took pictures, and sent them to the borough manager, asking for someone to come and check the line. Move to Friday Morning, the water authority gentleman who came up three times over the next few days, was such a nice man, and he very nicely told us what the problem was, and what we needed to do to get it fixed. I called in every person I knew, even my uncle who was a retired plumber for suggestions, no one had a good one, so I turned to Angie's List, and good thing I did.

When I called Terry's plumbing, they were delightful, and Terry himself came out and took a look at what needed to be done. He gave me an amazing quote within my budget, and said that they would be back on Monday. Terry was the absolute best, he was respectful, honorable, and stood behind everything he said to me. The crew that Terry sent must be his A-Team because Jason, Jason and Tim were top shelf. They put me at ease about everything, and got everything taken care of and the water back on within just a few hours of being here the first day. They came back day 2 to straighten up the yard, and patch a hole in my basement floor where the new line came in.  The whole Job went off without a hitch, other than it being about 6 degrees outside the whole time.

They cleaned up everything very nicely, and gave me all the information I would need to keep myself safe going forward, and even let me know that my water tank is aging and we might want to budget for that next before it goes. Very professional, very good expert work and advice. I will use Terry's Plumbing again, and will recommend them to everyone I know. This was my first big hurdle as a homeowner, and Terry's made it easier for me. Can't thank them enough.

The pump from the French drain to the street hadn't worked in years. The garage was showing signs of water from this defect. Terry and his employees made sure that my wife and I were informed about what the problem was, how it was to be fixed, and what the cost would be. This was all done in a personable and professional manner.

Cathy of office personnel was also very pleasant and made sure that any concerns about scheduling were quickly and efficiently relayed.

Lastly, Terry's Plumbing did the job for about $600 less than another local plumbing company quoted us.

I wouldn't recommend Terry's Plumbing - we called because I had accidentally flushed a rag down the toilet, and that needed resolved immediately (isn't that always when you call a plumber?) and they were able to get here quickly.

The plumber himself wasn't bad at his job, and he spent time also helping us to understand what might need attention in the future (we've got an older house, stuff needs fixing) - BUT he also made suggestions that were absolutely ridiculous (remove the concrete slop sink in the basement and replace it for $800 with a fiberglass piece of crap - no thank you!) and quoted other future jobs at stupid prices.

For our immediate problem, we got off the hook for around $300, but I don't think it should have even cost that much, considering what he did.  In the meantime, I've found better plumbers who charge fairer rates.

EDIT: Two weeks later, when our sewer started to back up, what caused the problem was the rag that had gone down the pipes that the plumber from Terry's had failed to recover.  He left with our money, but not the rag he had been hired to recover.

Paid for a repair that has never been fixed. We are now 6 days out from the original visit & still have no hot water!  Every time we call we are assured that someone will be over today but no one shows & no call to tell us why. Again today we have been told someone will be here asap yet still no plumber or call with apology & explanation. Very disappointed!

While out of town my floor drain was backing up. It was late in the afternoon. To make sure that I was serviced the owner made himself available to fix the problem. The charges were hourly. He completed the job in less than an hour. Pricing was extremely fair. I will be a customer for all things going forward. Thanks Terry

Bob from Terry's Plumbing just completed a renovation of my bathroom. I had a new vanity and tile floor installed.

From the estimate to the completion of the job, Bob was efficient, helpful, and very professional. He suggested a supplier for my vanity that saved me money, and had a lot of good suggestions when I had questions.

The installation was completed in a timely manner. When we ran into a few glitches like the wrong hardware installed on the vanity, a granite side-splash that was missing, or a back-order on some of the tile, (none of which were Terry's Plumbing fault) Bob was able to make the changes and get things fixed quickly.

I highly recommend them!

I can't stress enough how glad I am that I called Terry's plumbing. Matt Mertz Quoted me $250/hr for a clogged main. Terry's was only $89 total and came out the very next morning. If you have someone quoting you thousands for an extensive job, I would definitely give these guys a call for a quick second opinion.

Terry's plumbing did a huge job for us. Replacing a sewer line. They explained everything every step of the way, and were more than fair with their pricing! They got back to us right away, and unlike other company's we called, they were very eager to start the job. We were worried about the price because they were not sure exactly what needed done, and could not quote an exact price. When all was said and done we were very happy with our service and the price was more than fair. My husband is a carpenter by trade, and meticulous with his work, and expects the same when we hire people for jobs he cannot do. He had nothing but great things to say about Terry's. Thanks guys!!!

Called Terry's for a second opinion on some work that was quoted to me that I felt was high and wasn't sure if it was really needed as I am by no means a plumber. Had some backup in sewer that competitor said beyond snaking out the drain, I would need to dig up part of driveway and replace pipe. We were talking $3000. I allowed the guy to snake out the drain which took less than a minute and paid him but held off on the major repair which he said was needed without using a camera to investigate. Terry came out himself and he was a great guy. Told me that the work that the other guy said needed done was bogus. Terry ran his camera 45' out through our pipe to find nothing wrong with my pipe. The crack in the pipe right above the trap was most common among many homes and may only require a quick snake job each year at most. He said even if he had to replace that pipe it would only cost me about $600 instead of the $3000 that was quoted by the other guy. Terry came out and did this inspection FREE of charge in the rain. I offered to pay him but he insisted no charge. I will give my business in the future to Terry no doubt. He is honest and I know I can trust him after this visit.

I am disappointed in Terry's Plumbing. I had a main line drain backup. He put the snake in (rodding) and expected to open the line in 15 minutes. After 2 hours of repeating the same failing technique, he billed me. Then he told me that it would cost another $380 to try another method
