The service was performed well.  There were some issues with the invoice/cost - but Tom resolved those to my satisfaction.

This was a complete disaster. The electrician, Thomas Harp was initially a very friendly person who seems to have a Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde personality. We had him change out the master circuit panel and install some recessed lighting in our house. When his work was looked over by a subsequent electrician, he said the work was very lacking. Not only did he not restructure the lay out, he put in the cheapest circuit breakers he could find. We told him to leave the old breakers behind, but he took them anyway. I suspect they were still good and make my own conclusion what he did with them. So this will have to be redone in the future. While working on the lighting, he got into an altercation with my wife. He then threw a tantrum and left, leaving the job in mid-stream and unfinished with the wiring hanging from the ceiling, and then later, lied and said we told him to leave. He overcharged, did sub-standard work and after working for awhile, developes an abrasive temprement. I would never have this man in my house again and would not recommend him to anyone, not even my worst enemy. I would not trust him in my house.

I called Providence Electric on a Monday and Tom was out on Tuesday. Started the Job of bringing our House up to Code and adding some extra Outlets outside the house. He Replaced the inside panel box and added a Nice one out side also.
Great Work at an Affordable Price was my Experience with PE! Will be calling Tom again!

Don't call them. It's that simple. There are better more honest companies that will help you with your electrical needs.
I rarely right bad reviews but these guys are just a little slimy for my taste. Is an itemized receipt too much to ask for?
Yea...No, it's not.

If I could give zero stars I would.

Things started off great with Tom at Providence Electric.  We e-mailed back and forth to try to get things nailed down for a project (recessed lights and pendant lights in the kitchen) that was supposed to be a birthday present for my wife.  Got the price and appointment all set up and 15 minutes after Tom was supposed to be at my house he calls saying he didn't put the appointment down and was at another project and couldn't do my job that day.  Then when I tried to reschedule for the next day he completely went back on his original price and tried to increase the price by 25%.

I can't believe this is how someone does business.  I couldn't believe it.  Then he declined to do the job at all because he didn't want to do it considering I was frustrated with the situation.

Thanks for ruining my wife's birthday present because now I have to go find another electrician and schedule some other time around the holidays to get this done after we all took time out of our day to get this set up.  Unbelievable...

Called Tom a week ago to see if he could complete a job for us. Not only did he back out last minute but he also refused to take my phone calls. He decided to send a nasty email back and tell us its our problem not his. Looks like John L. and I have something in common. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING HIM. He was rude and disrespectful and obviously has questionable work ethic.

Very unprofessional electrician!!  Tom Harp, the owner of PE was supposed to install a simple ceiling fan in my daughter's bedroom.  He not only did not finish the install, but demanded I pay him for a job unfinished.  He was supposed to be at my house for the original appointment date and time and called to cancel saying he was on another job.  He agreed to come out the next day and showed up over 2 hours late!  When he arrived at my house he complained about how tired he was from a previous job.  His install tactics are very aggressive and did not clean up after the job.  Needless to say, the fan is still not installed and he became very belligerent when I told him he would be paid when the fan is installed properly.  Save yourself a huge headache and avoid this company at all costs!!  He deserves ZERO stars.

After being stood up by two electricians and not ever getting a call back from another, I was finally able to get in contact with Tom at PE.  He assured me that they would indeed show up.  I had a list 5 of items that I need to have done,  The electrician showed up on time as scheduled, but then he didn't really want to do any of the work that I needed.  As we walked around and I was pointing out the work, he kept telling me that I could just got to Lowes and get this or that.  The big problem I had, and have had for a long time, he didn't even troubleshoot it, he put some sealant around a light and was 100% positive that he fixed the problem (that didn't fix it).  Of the 5 things that I needed, he did 2 of them.  He took down a ceiling fan and replaced it with a regular fixture and changed a balast on the garage light.  He didn't even have the balast on is truck and was gone for about an hour and half to get one.  Total charge $250, and he said that I would get a receipt in email...still haven't gotten it.  Don't do business with these people, they won't do the work and their billing process is a bit shady. They get two stars for showing up when they said that they  would.
