My sister called Progressive Service Company when my downstairs toilet overflowed.  It was a horrifying mess, as you can imagine.  Everyone else was unable to come out until the following Monday (it happened on a Saturday, of course), but this company sent a guy (Steve) out in an hour and a half.  He diagnosed the problem as a tree root in an outside pipe.  How he found it, I have no idea.  But he brought in a helper and the two of them dug outside to reveal the clogged pipe, replaced it, and added a clean-out.  They worked well into darkness; my neighbors must have thought they were burying bodies out there!  But they did a great job.  I called them again when my garbage disposal clogged, and Steve again came out and solved the problem in 10 minutes.  I had also wanted metal hoses installed on my washer, but he pointed out that the ones I had WERE metal hoses.  So they did not try to upsell me stuff I did not need, even when I had opened the door to it by expecting an expensive repair.

Yes, they charge like $89 to come out, but apply it to work you have done.  I feel this is an honest company, they're reliable and they show up.  I will definitely use them for all plumbing issues in the future.

not to take out my frustration on Progressive as a whole but This particular service tech i had, will exploited and tried to rip me off.
I had warranty work done on my Hot water heater which turned out to be a bad thermostat which was covered under the warranty. After the warranty repairs were done. The service tech all of a sudden started to point out other issues that weren't covered under the warranty plan I had. Seems the company knows what warranties are and not covered in order to make more money from the customer. One of the issues he all of a sudden quoted not under warranty was for $300 but said he could cut me a deal and do it for $200. later i found out the part was only $40 (via Amazon) so i have to assume it was cheaper for them purchasing in bulk from the manufacturer. So essentially i was charged $160 for labor which took less than 5 Minutes to install; would've been $260  if not for the SO CALLED break. The second issue he quoted me was between $500-$800 and said if I don't get it done now or within a day or two I would have serious issues and would void any warranty work he did, so the service tech pretty much attempted to pressured me into getting the work done. when i explained to him I couldn't afford this right now, he then started to act like a shady car salesman saying well you can pay 1/2 now and 1/2 later. What kind of customer service is that? anyway i never got that particular work done, however the next day I purchased a $10 test item  and with a certified plumber from the neighborhood tested the so called $500-800 repairs and discovered there was no issue, and was well within code. Unfortunately I had no choice on this company since the company who offered the warranty contracted Progressive do the repairs, but i can guarantee i will never use then again. If anything after some phone calls I should've gone with a bigger well know warranty repair company.  Oh by the way I'm still waiting for the itemized bill and now i know what a previous customer (Raun B.) means about progressive.

Fast same day service, and fast.  Plumber was friendly and heloful.  How ever it was Very expensive.  Over $600 to replace two stop valves.  Used compression, probably okay, but expected a pro to use sweat valve.

Company came for service call as the heat went out. They repaired it, and two weeks later, another break down, they came a second time, fixed it, after installing a new thermostat that they caused to burn out while trying to repair it, and one week later system out again. The company Refused to come back as they stated we need to replace air condition coils. Called another company, they repaired our system, replaced the bad thermostat they installed and checked the coils and the coils are not bad, no leaks. The technician left the system open and fuses all over the ground. Will not recommend. Technicians do not seem to be experienced.

My mother-in-law called this company when her AC stopped working.  The technician told her that she needed a new AC unit, and they scheduled an appointment for a new install the next day.  I was away from home and I came home that day and I went to my mom-in-laws house and noticed that the evap coil fan was not running and I replaced the 5 microfarad starting capacitor and the system ran normally.  Now , seriously , if I can debug that problem , there is no excuse for the professional technician to not do the same.

I called Progressive and they sent a plumber right away.  My leak was fixed the same morning I called! The plumber was Justin S and he was professional and friendly.

Stay away! We had a touchless kitchen faucet installed on 5/27/2021. The technician also recommended and replaced the icemaker lines in the crawlspace at the same time. We were charged $638.14 for the installation, which was much more than other estimates we had received; however, based on reviews we were assured that the quality of service was worthy of the additional cost. Fast forward to today, 1/4/22, less than one year later and the piping to the faucet is leaking under the cabinet. I called and was told that they only warranty their work for 30 days for this faucet and will charge us to come back out. Unbelievable and appalling after charging such a premium for the work.  I can understand that if it is a faulty faucet they will charge, but they will not even stand behind the piping and other installation work they did.  I will neve use this company again and would not recommend them to anyone.

Nightmarish experience is what i feel we had with this company. Let me explain; this company was engaged by Handy Technology, an internet based home repairs and service company that Lowe's has contract with as a third party vendor to perform all their installations. We purchased a toilet from Lowe's and paid for installation. Apparently Progressive was engaged to do this. First installation resulted in continuously running toilet from the faulty flapper. Second visited resulted in toilet not flushed with the floor and had tilted to the right when sitting on it. 3rd visit. Man comes over (keep in mind the toilet was sitting squared and flushed with the floor after the 1st visit). He placed  shimmies under the toilet and leaves. My bad I hadn't tested it right then and there. My wife sits on it a few hours later and comes out immediately stating the toilet is tilting forward. Called Lowe's again, next appointment not till after a week. Man comes over (4th visit) i am not home. Catch him on the way out and talk to him. He says oh it is fixed and that he put silicone around the base so don't use it for 24 hours. I said, absolutely not acceptable. No toilet, if installed correctly should need caulking of any kind what so ever. He said he placed a couple of more shimmies to correct the the tilt because the flange is too high. I say, why then the older toilet was sitting flushed with the floor. Lets go back and reinstall it correctly plus i want to see the flange. He refused to go back. Said i am an installer, not a plumber said, i needed a plumber. It was apparent that they no longI had to hire a plumber to re-install the toilet which by the way is exactly as it should have been the first time.

The electric work performed by this company was not in code. Puts the home and occupants at risk of fire. The connections for three switch boxes are made out side of connection boxes. and left hanging in behind the dry wall in the kitchen eating area...over 10 3 wire  cables connections pushed behind the dry wall with no protective boxes was what I found when they left. AVOID THESE GUYS IF YOU NEED A ELECTRICIAN.

Called about a leaking washing machine. They were able to come out the next day. The guys were polite and wearing masks. Best of all I could follow how they weee diagnosing the problem, eliminating other possibilities and what our options to fix it are going forward. Really liked working with them.

I had two toilet tanks whose valves need to be changed. I approved my tenant to go about the repairs after getting a few quotes. My tenant got a quote from this company and approved 405$ for replacing one valve each in 2 tanks. Work was OK. I knew I got ripped off. I called up Haseeb Khan (Danville, CA location) and told him 405$ for replacing two valves? Isn't that a complete ripoff? He said I get such calls all the time over the past 12 years. I asked him So you have a history of ripping people off, over the 12 years?. He laughed and said What is a reasonable amount? He asked 250$? or 200$?. Since this guy had a sense of humor, I said 250$ is fine. He relented. I said OK. I will give you a good review on Yelp and will also do business with you in the future. I was waiting for the credit and today he went back on his words. DO what you want. I have text from your tenant approving the $ amount.

Summary: Unethical. Does not keep up to his words

Insane estimate for a hot water tank install.  Went to Progessive Service Company through Lowe's for an estimate on an install of a hot water heater.  My first sign to not get an estimate through Progressive service was that they require a $35 upfront payment before they will even come out.  I now see why this is the case.  Standard 50 gallon water tank that is very easily accessible they were trying to charge $795 for the install.  Not the tank and install, but $795 for just the install.  Insanely priced.

Hired these folks to install a new dishwasher after contacting numerous other installers with no luck.  Progressive Service responded quickly and have been extremely Pleasant to work with.  We were delighted that the dishwasher was installed quickly and with little disruption.  The next morning we discovered a slight leak on the kitchen floor and the source turned out to come from the dishwasher.  We notified Progressive assuming the leak was the result of an improper installation.

We notified Progressive who responded almost immediately and dispatched Nolan to determine the cause of the leak.  It took Nolan a matter of minutes to discover the cause which turned out to be an improperly secured bolt in the dishwasher.  Nolan resolved the bolt and no more leaks.

Overall a very painless experience.  We would definitely recommend this firm based on the prompt and efficient we experienced.

I called this company based on some positive reviews. My experience today was terrible. I had an old toilet at my business that was leaking and needed to be replaced. I called first thing Monday morning. I asked to be put in touch with the plumber before coming to my business to explain the situation and request that they bring a durable generic white toilet for a non-public bathroom. I was told that the plumber would call in route. I explained I might not be at the office when he came, but she assured me he would call. He didn't call. When I arrived at the office, I was informed he had already come and gone. I called and spoke to the same person and insisted to have the plumber call me or connect me which she did. Because he had not called or talked to me he was looking for a replacement tank for a worn out twenty plus toilet that probably cost less than $150.00 new. He then quoted $1018.26 to install a generic Gerber toilet. These can be purchased for less than $200.00. I told him that was unacceptable. I asked for my bill for the site visit which he said was over $300.00 because of all the time he took researching non-existent replacement parts. I called the company again and told them I would pay for the initial visit only. They never apologized for their mistake. They implied that I was never promised a call but never offered to talk to Hannah who I spoke with three times. Of course they record their conversations but were dead silent when I suggested they talk to Hannah or listen to the recorded calls. Stay away from these guys. Went with Rural Heating and Plumbing and came out ahead even after paying for the site visit. I am refusing to pay for the plumber to look for parts!

Don't let the $99 emergency fee fool you.  They charge $147 per hour per plumber/technician rounded up to the next hour.  They say they don't give itemized receipts/bills to residential customers, I can only assume that it's to hide what the exact charges are.  I had to fight to get an itemized bill, once I got it I saw why they didn't want to give it to me.  They fixed my well and charged me $2,183.00 even though they have flat rate charges for residential work.  There are just as qualified plumbers who can do equal or better work for way cheaper.  Do yourself a favor and use another company.

Technician had no license. Manager was no help. Couldnt answer my questions. Said he would get back to me and never did. So over priced and under qualified. If you would like to get ripped off by an unlicensed technician with apparently no management this is the place to call.

Called with a plumbing issue and they were able to send someone within less than an hour ,
CJ was professional courteous and kind (  as well as made sure to bring booties to cover his feet ) -
Super service and would recommend.

Gave a-quote on running some
Propane gas lines as well , we just have to wait on that part of our repair quote .

*A check was a cheaper way to pay with this service ( or cash) as credit card fees would be higher chg.

This company was sent out by American Home Shield due to issues with our hot water heater. I requested service on Monday due to no hot water and Pedro the technician came on Friday afternoon to assess the problem. He was here a total of 7 minutes. He entered the room where the water heater is located, took a few pictures and said you need a new water heater because yours is disintegrated. So I asked him how he was able to determine that a replacement was needed without actually checking the components or attempting to light the pilot? He responded I don't need to check it. That's what you pay insurance for. I will put in the order now and it'll probably be Tuesday or Wednesday before I can get a new one because of Covid. So I asked him if we realized that we've have NO HOT WATER FOR A WEEK, we have two small children and he's telling me that MAYBE he can come back in 5 or so days with a replacement. So I checked the work order section of the AHS website later that evening. NO WORK ORDER. Called PPCS and NO answer, left message, NO call back! Later I called their emergency service number, still no answer, left message. NO call back. On Saturday I checked again, STILL NO WORK ORDER! I then called and spoke to customer service where I was told it can take up to 24 hours for the technicians input to show in their system. Checked the website on Sunday, STILL NO WORK ORDER. So I called AHS again and the customer service rep gave me the same answer as the previous rep. Monday morning (a week no hot water), I checked the website again, STILL NO WORK ORDER! Complete frustrated, I called the PPCS and of course NO answer and NO call back. Once again I called AHS and told the representative there was STILL NO WORK ORDER showing in the system and I'd left numerous messages, sent an email and the company was unresponsive. He then called the company and was able to speak to someone and said they would called me within 4 hours. Those 4 hours came and went, STILL NO CALL BACK OR EMAIL. I once again called AHS and after 45 minutes of retelling the same story once again, the representative was not only able to make contact with PPCS but assured me they would be putting the work order information in the system. About an hour later, I received an email from AHS to contact them as there was an ISSUE with my warranty claim. Once again I contacted AHS and was told by the representative that my water heater issue would NOT be covered by the warranty. When I questioned why she said because the technician states in their report that your water heater is in violation of city codes and ordinances. This ABSOLUTELY OBSURD! The technician made NO mention of such and said he was planning to order a new one the same day. What a bunch of @$$holes. Just because I questioned their decision and was trying to prevent unnecessary work and expense to AHS they try to screw me by putting some BS information into the work order to prevent a replacement! I insisted that AHS send out another company for a second opinion to which they have agreed to do. Not only am I giving this company MINUS -10 STARS, I am hoping by writing this review, others will avoid this company at all costs!!

I called Progressive 2 months ago to fix a burst pipe in my crawlspace.  They came out within the hour and fixed the issue that night at a very reasonable rate.  The plumbing technician alerted me to the fact that I have polybutylene piping throughout the house, and that that type of piping get's brittle over time and is no longer a recommended plumbing material.  I've since had Progressive's technicians come out to re-pipe the entire house.  No, this was NOT cheap (hence the four stars), however; it was well in line with 2 other local companies that quoted me.  I went with progressive on the job and they did it in 2 days and sealed up the walls and it looks fine.  These guys were very professional, and seemingly quick and knowledgable.  I'm looking forward to many years with few if any piping leaks.
