I called this company's Durham number over a week ago to try and schedule an appointment for some residential electrical work I needed done, and I left them a voicemail.  I haven't received a call back to this point.   Disappointing behavior from what appears to be a medium or larger size company that should have folks in place to receive calls from new customers.

Paid $800 a week ago to have the AC fixed including replacing wiring which they said would prevent the problem from happening again. One week later and the same problem is happening again and AC doesn't work. Called for an appointment and they can't even give me a window of arrival. Been 24hrs since I've called and still no window of arrival time. Still no AC. Been sitting here all day with no resolution. Very disappointed with my experience with this company especially after giving them so much money just one week ago. Will be seeking a new company if they don't turn it around.

Unreliable!  While waiting for the technician to show up for my scheduled appointment, received a text saying my appointment was rescheduled for a 5 hour window the next day!  Another day off work!!!!  Do not recommend!

Excellent response, service, and price!  My family was dismayed when we woke up to a cold house - the furnace had quit working during the night.   The extended days of freezing temperatures had taken their toll.   I checked Yelp reviews for a serviceman and we chose Piedmont Metro due to a review describing their rapid response.  We had very quick response (within an hour)  and the technician was able to make the repair on the spot.  What could have been a bad day during a cold snap turned into a pleasant experience.

I sympathize with the previous customer, because I completely understand the frustration of expense and having good work done. But I must say that my experience was drastically different with this company.

We had air coming into our home, but it was not cooling...instantly we knew it must've needed freon (or coolant/refrigerant). *Note: I am not as much of an expert with HVAC as I am with plumbing, but I just knew that sitting in a hot house with my mom and 8yr. old child with temperatures averaging in the upper 90s+ was NOT happening.

At any rate, after multiple failed attempts to find someone (ANYONE) who would come out without a week or more of a wait list as well as insane price quotes for diagnostic tests and lot of other unnecessary fees before getting to the pricey cost of refilling the A/C unit with the material that makes the air cool, the Lord sent us the sweet receptionist (hate I can't think of her name), followed by a return call from Robert, ending with Alex. PRAISE THE LORD!!!

Not only did these 3 individuals arrange for us to have air, they did it within a 24 hour window...the day after one of the busiest holidays -the 4th of July! They were professional, Robert was honest about time windows and costs, and Alex was efficient and thorough with his work on our unit -which, by the way, didn't even seem to take but 30 to 45 mins. My mom, daughter, and I can't begin to tell you how ECSTATIC and gracious we were for the Piedmont Metro team...and might I add, the house is now so cool, we actually had to bring out blankets! Ha ha ha...no, we just raised the temperature a bit. But, all in all, we will NEVER go to another big chain HVAC company or our sorry a** insurance company [AmHS] again.

I rarely write a bad review.  But this time I am compelled. If there were such a thing as minus stars, I would rank Piedmont Metro on that side of ZERO.  It has been 3 weeks (not  1, not 2 but 3) since I first contacted them about a cooling issue I was having.  Of course an answering machine picked up and proceeded to tell me how important my call was and someone would get back with me......bull.  After 1 week and several other messages left, I finally got a person, who said that someone would call and let me know when I could expect service.  At the end of the second week and several messages left, I finally got a call back to say I was on the schedule and they would call me ahead of time so someone could meet the technician at my house.  So passes the third week.......Finally today, the technician called to ask if I could be at the house between 10:30 and 11:00.  Of course. I replied, visions of sleeping in a cool bedroom dancing in my head.  I arrived at the house at 10:20.  !0:30 came and passed, as did 11:00, 11:30, 12:00. Still no technician or call.  Finally at 12:30 I called the main office only to be told that the technician had been delayed that morning at the first job......AND they thought that they had contacted everyone to let them know.  They have all 3 of my phone numbers. Missed calls, none; messages, none.  I work 30 minutes from home. I figure on top of the $75.00 deductible on my service contract, in the end I'll be out about $500.00 in wages too.  As well as my friends and family, I will be passing this on to my home warranty/service contract provider and STRONGLY recommend that Piedmont Metro be removed from their list of service providers.  But remember....you call is very important to them. Please leave a message and someone WILL return your call......when hell freezes over.

I had an appointment scheduled for 3:30.  They called early in the day to move it up to 2:30 because of rain, so I changed my plans to be home for them.  No one was at my house by 3:45, no one had called, and I finally got a hold of them after calling 5 or 6 times.  When I complained to the man, Robert, who answered the phone, he hung up on me.  Some of the worst customer service I've experienced ever.

Horrible service. Was given a time frame for the technician to show up but they never showed. Call the office to check the status and they said it will be an hour and a half before the technicians get here. However, they never showed. Didn't even call to tell me that they were not coming.
Called and called the office and the representative just stonewall me explaining that she couldn't help me since she did not speak to me in the first place. In other words, you are better off going somewhere else.

Completely unreliable and dishonest.  My heat pump was having issues on the coldest day of the year.  I called and they did send someone out fairly quickly. He provided an analysis and an estimate. He told me that the estimate would cost 88 dollars. When I explained that I had specifically asked if there was a charge for an estimate before having them come out I was told that estimates were free. He became agitated and borderline aggressive and asked So are you going to pay it or not?
I wanted to be fair so he called his manager and we agreed to half of the fee on the basis that I would have the repair done. He stated he did not have time that day but would come out the next morning. I stressed the urgency as I have young kids in the house. After he left, my subpanel started smoking and I had to turn the unit completely off. I called to make them aware of this and to verify that they would be out the following morning. The next day they were a no-call no-show. A day passed and no one called. I finally called and spoke to the same manager. He offered no apology and said they could come out the following day. I asked if he could just refund the 44 dollars and I would go with someone else and he agreed.  I have since called back three times and left messages for the manager. Each time I was advised that he would call me back and he never has. I have yet to receive the refund promised.

So I was waiting to write this review because I was going to appeal through my home warranty to get my money back for the services. However, life went on and I'm just going to cut my losses.

On Memorial Day weekend 2015, my a/c broke.  I put in a service request to have it fixed through my home warranty and they connected me to Piedmont Metro. Long story short, we went weeks w/o service in the hot HOT summer as the staff continued to tell us that we were next to receive service. In fact, they did not tell us, we just waited in limbo until we called them to see what the hold up was. Then they started telling us to be home at a certain times just to get us off the phone, because they never showed up! My husband and I both burned through PTO waiting for them in a HOT house, only for them not to show up. Finally, my home warranty company contacted them and they magically showed up the same day. Next their technician informed me that we had a leak in the evaporator coil and suggested leak freeze would fix it for 2 years. So we paid them $158 for them to spray foam into the a/c, which only worked for 2 weeks. Back to square one.  

We eventually got a different company to fix the evaporator coil and they said that every reputable company knows that leak freeze is a joke. Do not trust this company with your time or money! Checked w/ the Secretary of State's online database, and they are operating even though they are suspended by the department of revenue. Shady, shady.

If I could leave no stars I would. There are not enough hours in the day to describe all the terrible things about this company. Robert is one of the most unprofessional and rude people I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with in my life. I had no choice but to use them as they were contracted by the granite company. TWO MONTHS later and the issue still hasn't been resolved. On five different occasions Robert set up appointments and was a no-show without any sort of call. It took a very unhappy call from me to finally get him to send someone and then the repair job was horrific leaving me 6 holes in my wall. The electrician was nice and said he would come back out to do more work to repair it, but Robert never scheduled him to come back out and will not return my calls.

AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS.

My furnace stopped working in January.  Although the people I talk with on the phone are very friendly and make commitments to complete work, my experience over the last six months is that they do not follow through consistently.

I would not recommend others to use this company for your heating and cooling installation and service needs.  My experience has been that they are difficult to get in touch with and that they do not follow through in the way that they say they will.  In other words they do not keep their commitments consistently.

If I could give 0 stars I would.  We were told that service people were either coming within an hour or coming the next day for 5 days.  They did not keep us apprised of their intent of service, every time we needed to call.  We had to take of work 5 days and wait for nothing!  We called R & C Services and they came that day and fixed the problem.  Don't use this company unless you want to use your valuable vacation days sitting in a hot house waiting for no one.

i have paid for a maintenance contract and they wont answer the phone.
the mailbox is full and my unit needs freon  i am sick wiht heat. robert
won't; answer nor do the work. they have my monty but they won't do \the work. and they lied to the flood people saying the outside unit
did not need be replaced when it did.

i am hot and will be sick due to their lack of respoinse. they won't even answer the phone
