HISTORY

Established in 2009.
Custom Electric of NC was started by Chris Sampson about 5 years after he completed his final tour of duty in Iraq with the US Navy. In the Navy Chris was a decorated Electrical technician who worked on the Nuclear Reactor controls equipment on board an Aircraft Carrier. Upon his honorable discharge from active duty Chris completed his degree in Nuclear Engineering and began work as an emergency power Engineer at a large power company. Chris prepared for the very challenging NC electrical exam to get a license to practice electrical contracting in NC. He was one of the few who pass the exam and shortly went out on his own with Custom Electric of NC. Custom Electric of NC has been serving the Greensboro and surrounding areas proudly ever since.

ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER

Chris started the company after his service in the US Navy. A native of the Greensboro area, Chris has been in the electrical field and construction since he was young. His father was a licensed general contractor for all of Chris's life meaning Chris spent time after school each day on the job site (it was legal back then). Chris enjoys softball and spending time with his wife, their daughter, and their two sons.

These guys were tops! Efficient, professional, friendly, and knowledgable. Shout out to Blake for being really dependable and communicative with anything I needed. I'd definitely use them again. Save yourself the pain of trying to find the total package in electric/plumbing services, and call these guys.

I would give this company and Chris Sampson (the owner) a zero if I could. We found them on Angie's list but should have vetted them further. We asked them to put in canned lights throughout our house and Custom Electric in Greensboro NC destroyed our ceilings and walls and didn't even get the canned lights straight. We found out later they buried live wires in the wall. It was so bad we called the North Carolina Electrical Board to report them and subsequently they were reprimanded (case 2015-1077). Ultimately we ended up firing Custom Electric and hiring another local electrical firm to fix their mistakes so we could get our project completed. I don't recommend them.
