Spina Electric

We were looking for an electrician who knew what he was doing, who was efficient in his use of time, who was meticulous in his work, and who left everything as clean (or cleaner) than he found it. This is exactly the experience we had when Joe from Spina Electric came over recently. For decades we have looked for the best people to work on our home, and I'm happy to say as far as an electrician, we've now found the perfect one.

For several summers our central air conditioner system did not function, the main problem seemed to be it not turning on. During his visit, Joe solved our A/C troubles, inspecting our electric panel and then the fuse panels for each A/C unit, finding out that the problem was a blown fuse. Upon inspecting the issue further, he found the connectors to the blower were loose, and he repaired that as well. He made a label for each A/C condenser in our electric panel and moved on to our second issue.

During the heavy March snowstorm a fallen tree took out one of our pier lights, so it had remained on its side since then. We knew we needed an electrician for it, so we showed Joe after he was done with the A/C units. He was able to correct and repair the wiring and also mount the lamp back onto the base, something that was tricky since it had stood for decades and it falling over had changed the holes in the brick and mortar where it was mounted. He fixed it and within his single visit two important things were accomplished.

I noticed that on two occasions he could've done the bare minimum necessary, but he actually went further to make it perfect. I remarked that he worked diligently and closely, as if he were working on his own house. He said that's the way he does things. It's a pretty rare thing to find nowadays, so suffice to say we are happy we came across Joe and Spina Electric. He was efficient, accurate in his assessment, and we are currently preparing a list of things for him to look at and take care of during his future visits. For many years we have let things stay out of order, almost resigned to the fact that it wouldn't get fixed because of how difficult it was to find honest, experienced, and reputable electricians. Thankfully we don't have that feeling anymore. Joe's prices are fair, as are his prices for the materials he supplied during his visit. Joe is both handy and current with new things people are installing inside and outside of their homes, so we are forward to updating/fixing our home. Experience, knowledge, trustworthiness, quality work, great prices, and patience. Probably the six words we would use to describe Joe, and the qualities one would want in an electrician. 100% recommended.

I called Joe for help with an issue in my home where power suddenly was no longer available in my office.  Joe came by 2 days later and was able to address the issue for me in two hours, and repair the problem I had.  Joe is very professional and courteous.  This was the second time I hired joe, the first was to run extra w power to my pool shed from inside the house.  Joe does a great job inside or outside the home, and I recommend him for anyone needing electrical work.

Could not believe how I was treated. After weeks of back and forth, a project start date scheduled and an approved quote totaling over $6k, I received and email from Spina Electric declining my project less than 15 MINUTES after they had just emailed me to tell me where I can drop off the check for the deposit!  Absolutely no clue what happened.  There were no issues, no arguments, no haggling, NOTHING to warrant an abrupt cancellation without the decency of telling me why. I asked for an explanation and was told that i could call with any questions, ''otherwise, best wishes''.  
The aggravation of calling just to argue with someone that I ultimately would not want to give the business to anymore was not worth it to me. But needless to say, would not recommend!!

Joe came by and took care of all the necessary electrical installation including wiring, piping, interlock plate in the circuit breaker for our portable generator project.  He did a great job and attention to details was excellent.   He also made sure everything worked end-to-end (our generator, interlock plate,  and helped us with a detailed power outage & recovery exercise with all the steps in the right order).  We are very please with his work, work ethic, and pricing.  We trust him with all our electrical work needs and  would highly recommend him!

Joe and his wife were really wonderful to work with.  Efficient and conscientious.  It was super easy scheduling a free estimate and for the work to be done with his wife handling all the appointments.  

We had three outlets created on the outside of the house and garage, but after doing a walk through Joe spotted a couple other issues that we were unaware of.  

Price wise he's a bit pricier than other folks, but it's worth the peace of mind knowing that the work will be guaranteed done correctly and safely.

We used Spina Electric years ago for our home. He put in recessed lighting in our living and dining room and he did a fabulous job!

We asked Joe to come out and see if he would be able to put up sconces and a few recessed lights.  He provided options and offered recommendations on the different options.  We were pleased with the quote and the work was executed very well without any issues.  He usually works in the evenings but would have been more than comfortable having him complete the work without being home.

Joe is a true professional and very friendly. He really knows his stuff. If there is ever an issue with a project, he figures out how to fix it 100%. He never is careless or does a job half-assed. I always appreciate his work and his expertise. I would definitely recommend him without question.

Joe is an awesome electrician. We are first time homeowners and really clueless when it comes to all the stuff that goes behind the walls and above the ceiling. We wanted to have 220v wall plug set up so we can switch our gas stove to electric, called spina electric, got a response right away and joe came by to check on it. He came back on a Saturday morning and did all the work by himself all morning. Really hard working guy, honest and very clear and respectful in explaining things! Once the work was done, his wife was very helpful in getting all the paper work with city permit and such done in a short time.

Just wonderful experience overall. Had a problem with front outdoor outlet in holiday 2015, made appointment, very on time, did a fully diagnostic and explained very well.

Joe was great and Spina Electric is very professional and organized. We moved into a new condo and there was a host of electric work that needed to be done. The scope work included a few installations of new wiring for lighting and other devices, as well as remediating several other minor issues. It was a lot of work and Joe did all the work himself but he worked fast, efficiently and was determined to complete all tasks in one day. Joe's work was great and he is very smart - he was able to identify many problems from the previous or original electric installation that occurred before we moved in. I recently hired Joe Spina to fix some dimmer switches in my kitchen. Not only was he prompt, courteous and fairly priced, he also explained that the previous electrician has installed the improper switches for the type of light bulb. It was clear from speaking with Joe that he really knows what he's doing and take pride in doing the job right. Joe did a great job with a number of projects around our house including installing recessed lighting, replacing a few fixtures around the house, and changing outlets and switches. Joe came to the house after that bad nor'easter to fix our electrical lines that had been pulled down in the storm.  He also did other work in the house repairing / replacing broken / outdated electrical outlets.  Joe clearly knows what he is doing.  There is tremendous peace of mind knowing the work was done properly. We had a great experience with Joe for a multi-part electrical project on our home, including the installation of baseboard heaters, ceiling fans, and outdoor lighting. Although it took multiple days to complete, Joe was reliable with scheduling appointments and always showed up ready to tackle the next step. We are happy with the end results and also appreciated his attention to details and the care he took to clean up each space once a portion of the project was complete.
