Malfettone Electric

I had a great experience with Malfettone Electric. I found them on yelp. Jason was so easy to work with and he was professional and very knowledgeable. I had recessed lighting installed in my condo. When we discovered that I bought the wrong lights on the morning they were going to install, he came with me to Home Depot to find the right ones!

He came to give me an estimate right away and spent a good 40 min here looking at the space giving me ideas. Pricing is very fair. He had 4 guys in his crew and they were amazingly efficient and clean. They were very professional and when they left, you couldn't tell they were there all day!

I went with Jason because I liked his professionalism and quick response to my request for an estimate. He was always responsive to my questions during the lead up to the install day. I called 2 other electricians-one didn't even want to come and see my place and the other one....I'm still waiting for his estimate.

I second the reviews by others. Jason was professional during the estimate process and had good recommendations. His team was very good on the day of the installation. They were professionals and very good at what they do. I would highly recommend Jason - reasonable, professional, helpful and excellent execution.

Really happy with Malfettone. I found them via review sites (yelp and google). I needed some minor electrical problems that were picked up during a house inspection in order to proceed with the sale. They read through the report and were over in less than 24 hours where there to fix it! Amazing.

When I looked at their portfolio of work, it seemed like they do much more larger projects. So I was a bit worried they would not prioritize my piddly little issues like rewiring outlets, but they did!

Also, I read through the negative reviews and I didn't experience their complaints (with was lack of communication). They always answered a call or returned it within a half hour. Same with email, texts and invoicing. Absolutely no problems there, I found them incredibly responsive and quick. Would def recommend to people.

We recently moved, and we did a couple of works in the new property, so I had to deal with several contractors, Malfettone Electric, was the best to work with.
They deliver what promise and beyond, their work ethic is impeccable: they arrive on time, they are careful of the furniture, they execute creatively to take care of your things, they suggest alternatives... And they are very patient!
They make sure you are happy, even if that means extra work.  
Mike is always on top of everything, but I have to say that the people who work with him, were also great: very respectful, detail oriented and leave everything clean.
I not only would recommended them, I'd hire them again and again.
I wish all my contractors were like Malfettone Electric.

I highly recommend Malfettone for electrical work.  Jason understands customer service and this family business is a company that homeowners can rely on.  Their prices are fair, work is timely and will make recommendations to you based on their experience.  I will use them again.

I hired them to install recessed LED lighting throughout my rental apartment. Overall the work was satisfactory, but some communication problems soured me somewhat. Care and consideration was lacking at the end of the job - I had issues with the LEDs flickering and not dimming below 50% and the switches not sitting flush. Once they were paid they did not respond, and i had to figure out how to program the LEDs to dim correctly myself. I also had to hire another electrician to properly attach 2 dangling LEDs...again, because they were unresponsive. Literally would have taken them 5 min. Once the job started I felt rushed and like just a number to them. Will be going elsewhere on my next electrician hire.

We hired Malfettone to install new under countertop lights in our kitchen. They were great. They were very easy to communicate with, helpful in determining our needs and a very fair price. On the day of the service they arrived on time, were friendly and did a great job. We are very happy and will call them when we need an electrician again.

As many others mentioned, these contractors are professional, efficient, clean and friendly. They arrived on time, put down a tarp to protect our wooden floors, and cleaned up the limited mess they made. They completed two major installations in six hours.

They installed marquis lights, patched up the previous outlets with spackle, and connected them to new outlets. Mike may be somewhat somewhat difficult to get a hold of, but it's worth the effort to be persistent. Definitely would hire again.

wow- Mark answered my call immediately during our cold snap and came first thing in the morning to fix our problem. Fair price, clean, courteous, honest and fast.

He walked me through the repair and didn't take advantage of us.

I wont use anyone else- he's great.

We used Malfettone Electric and they were great. My husband coordinated everything with Jason. Jason took the time to go over everything we needed done and quickly had two technicians out for the work. They were very respectful of our home and took the time to go over with us everything we needed done. Once complete they went through all the work with us to make sure we were happy with it. They are very professional and we will be using them in the future.

I'd write a review on their actual work but cannot get in contact with this company despite leaving multiple messages over several weeks.

Mike and his team did a small job for us and we were very happy with the result. Mike was very courteous and prompt with his communications as, and the work they did was great. He sent a number of people to come and do the job, so it was done very quickly. They also took a lot of care thinking about the placement of everything.
I think the price was fair, not the lowest quote we got, and not the most expensive. We wanted to make sure it as done professionally, and we are pleased with how it turned out. l will definitely use them again.

Great work at a good price! The brothers Malfettone will do quality work, adjusting from their original estimate on site to account for unforeseen conditions and such. They show up when they say they will, and they even returned to fix a wee problem weeks later. Latest state-of-the-art LED fixtures and such. Well done, Jason & Mike!

We initially called Mike to inspect a fuse box/panel that looked questionable while we were negotiating the purchase of our new condo.  Mike came out promptly and inspected the box (later gave us a written estimate for us to use during the sale).  We also wanted to get an estimate on some other work to install a new outlet in the kitchen, a total of 11 recessed lights throughout the condo, new fan in the bathroom, and new switches.  I later called 2 other places to price compare and his estimate was much lower.

Mike delivered everything that we discussed, on time, at the price we discussed and even came back to rewire some switches in the bathroom that we later changed our minds on (no charge). The work was clean, professional and looks great.  

Where I will say that he went above and beyond was the drywall.  All the holes he made to put in the new fuse box, run new wires for the lighting and outlet in the kitchen, were completely repaired.  

I am a happy customer and definitely recommend Mike and his guys to anyone looking for an electrician.

Great guy. Very accommodating. Quick to respond to all communications. Installed new 200-amp service for my mother's home. Allowed me to buy the materials. His guys were friendly and hard working. Inspector said whoever did the work did an excellent job and we agree. Would hire anytime I need electrical work.

Best electrical contractor in Jersey City!  Knowledgeable, timely, shows up, quality work, and affordable.  What more can someone ask for in a contractor?  Used him to install electrical heater, new line and outlets, and will be using him in the future.

Worked with Mike and his team on very short notice to install emergency hall lights in condo.  Also helped in replacing outdoor outlets.  Incredibly easy to work with, cane on time for both estimate and actual job.  Job was done two days after estimate with a crew of four who completed work quickly and efficiently.  I'd recommend using them for any electrical work needed. Total pleasure to work with.

These guys were fantastic.  Even though they were a bit late, the work they did more than makes up for it.

They were very professional and friendly, and were able to quickly find the issue.  When they had to run to home depot to buy a part, they explained to us why they needed it in a way that was easy to understand.  The price they charged was fair.

I very highly recommend these guys for any electrical work.  If I need anything else in the future I will definitely be giving them a call.

Malfettone electric came today and installed lights under our cabinets as well as above. Also mounted our surround sound. They came on time, look a short while and everything looks fantastic! I will most definitely be using them again. Their prices were reasonable and work is quality and not to mention they are such nice guys. We are so pleased!

No clue how this guy got all 5-star reviews until now. I own an apartment in NYC, but I live in California so it can be a challenge when certain problems arise for my tenant. I have what appears to be an electrical issue (from what I can deduce from across the country), and we called Mike Malfettone not once but twice and also paged him. After nearly two weeks, we still have not heard a thing back from him--not even a courtesy call to say he can't take the job. Not impressed!

Malfettone Electric was recommended to us by a friend when I was looking for someone to fix our kitchen light (we attempted to change the bulbs first but that was not the issue). Mike responded promptly and his team came to the rescue quickly. They resolved the problem quickly, fixed the light and now I don't have to cook with candles anymore! They were very professional and the price seemed fair. I would definitely go back with any electrical issue in the future.

These guys were professional and fast.  They fit my small home repair while they were working on a larger installation and were responsive and reasonably priced.  When I asked for help adding an internet cable to a line they were putting into my home office, they were completely helpful.  High recommend and I'm glad I found a good electritian in JC.

I called multiple contractors to take this relatively small job and he (and one other who no-showed the estimate) were the only ones willing to take the time to give an estimate and commit to getting the work done.  Would definitely hire again.

I've used Malfettone Electrical for several jobs now and am very happy with the results. They are not the cheapest, but they are highly professional, extremely efficient and very clean. Estimates and invoices are issued by email and itemized down to the last dollar. Mike is very knowledgeable and was able to give me good advice about creatively wiring some difficult spots in my old townhouse. His team is entirely trustworthy and extremely efficient, respectful of the homeowner's property and, really, if it wasn't for the bright new lights, I wouldn't have known they'd been in my house at all.

I have been searching for an electrician without success.  many never return phone calls or show up when they say they will.  I own a number of properties so having someone who is knowledgeable and responsible is important to me.  Mike and his team fit the bill.  they are professional and skilled.  I am very happy I found them and i will be using their services going forward.  highly recommended!
