HISTORY
Established in 2014.
The company started off as a one man show doing repairs around the city for management companies. Soon I needed a helper then hired on more employees. More work started coming our way and got into the renovation side of real estate. Since 2016 we've expanded into a full service renovation and consulting company.
ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER
I am the owner of Make Ready NYC. Starting as a fill in Doorman at the age of 18 to pay for college I moved on to a Real Estate Sales Agent. The company I worked for shut down and I became a Super of a small building where I started learning how to take on small repair projects. I moved my way to a luxury building as a Handy Man then on to a Resident Manager of a luxury building in Brooklyn. Working with contractors that seemed to give little mind to there own work I though I could provide a better service. I saved money to insure that my new venture wouldn't break my living situation and I opened my own company. Losing money my first year on underbidding and getting ahead of myself, I learned priceless lessons in the world of contracting. In my 2nd and 3rd year I was able to work out my kinks and had a nice system working for me. Now we are a full service contracting company with many recourses to take on any job. I'm very proud of Make Ready and I love what we do.

We had Make Ready resurface our 100-year-old parquet floors in our apartment. They were great. Anthoney was very responsive over text, and up-front regarding pricing. Their prices were more than reasonable when compared to competitors. The work was done well, by friendly knowledgeable workers. You can see the photo to see the quality of work. They did a good job of protecting the rest of the house from the sawdust. They were also very careful with removing everything from the room and putting the room back together. Overall a great experience.

We had a leak under the kitchen sink. We fixed it and thought we were all good. Unfortunately, the water must have been leaking for a longer time than we realized. The maple floors around the sink started to warp really badly. I found Anthony and Make Ready on Yelp. He was very responsive. He sent a guy to look at it, gave me a quote, sent my building manager a Certificate of Insurance and had a team of experienced floor guys show up as scheduled. They removed the warped floor, replaced some boards and sanded the whole place so that the new wood blends in perfectly. When the floor guys took all the furniture out of the living room and packed it neatly and carefully in other rooms, I realized that the walls and sills were a mess. They hadn't been painted in 20 years. I asked Anthony if he had painters who could come in right after the flooring. He did and we added to the job. In two long days, they painted a large, irregularly shape room with 11 foot ceilings.

Anthony and his crew did exactly what he said they'd do: a deep clean of the house top to bottom. It was recently renovated so lots of dust everywhere and that made it sparkle ...and even smell nice!
Reasonable price too, definitely would use Make Ready again!
I very rarely write reviews but don't want anyone else to EVER go through what I have. I moved into a 1-bedroom and wanted the walls repainted (white & a light grey). It took 8 DAYS to paint a 1-bedroom! I was quoted a 5 day job, BUT the first painter did not cover my furniture and moved it around carelessly damaging a brand new chair claiming don't worry if anything happens Anthony has insurance. The second day he shows up 2 hours late so I did not allow him to continue the job (I learn Anthony thought two men were painting). Two new nice men show up to paint the apartment for the next 4 days... they do cover the furniture HOWEVER they missed SO much. There were places where they grey painted spilled into the white, where they did not paint over the old existing paint. SO, a new head guy George shows up for 3 days and let me tell George was lovely but he is stuck trying to fix all of their mistakes and mishaps so it's no surprise that George misses something. So I'm left with this after 8-days of painting and an addition $300 charge for extra materials. I do not know what these materials are as I paid for the additional 3 gallons of paint out of pocket. Do paint brushes, and bins cost $300. There is no receipt to show for that. They are nice and responsive but unprofessional and don't care about your apartment. I can't speak to the rest of their services but don't ever use them to paint your apartment.

The work crew was extremely friendly, efficient, professional and did an outstanding job. They went well above and beyond to ensure the job was done correctly. Will call them again for any future projects.

Anthony came in with a very fair estimate and we were very pleased with his crew of workers. They worked as a team both efficiently and cleanly.
Our whole apartment took only 3 days to paint both ceilings and walls (two bedroom/two bath) and his workers were pleasant and attentive to any requests we had to complete the job.
I would gladly recommend Anthony and trust him to do the very best job he and his company can do. We would gladly use him again when the need arises and would not hesitate to recommend him to friends and family.

Grateful to have Anthony and his guys on speed dial for every time this old house needs help. Most recently Kevin and George were here doing a quick turnaround after the electricians opened up some walls and ceiling. In a day they had everything patched and painted - wouldn't have known there were ever any holes! A few years back they did a full facelift on the rental unit. The guys take pride in their work, clean up after themselves, and want the customer to be satisfied. I know Anthony does a lot of big jobs, but I really appreciate that he makes time and does equally great work on the smaller jobs like mine. He's one of the good guys!
On time, clean service, good results, courteous and professional. My cast iron tub is now back to being sparkly. I had my tub refinished, years back and it was up to be re-coated and last more years. The cute original tub has been in for 60+ years and Make Ready took nice care of it！
Anthony and his team were great in all aspects of the process. He is trustworthy and got the job done ahead of schedule. When issues happened during the process, Anthony was quick to have a solution and solve the problem.
