Legacy Electrical Contractors

Wanted to change my electrical panel so I would be able to install an additional circuit for an EV car charger. George respects the clients' time and showed up on time (for both the initial estimate/walk-through and the actual work once I decided to hire Legacy Electrical). In the walk-through, George was clear and explained the extent of the work and even pointed out some safety concerns.

Few days after the estimate, George and Jimmy showed up in their Legacy Electrical Van with all the materials and tools necessary. They were able to quickly swap out the old panel for the new panel then pull a new 208V 50A feed into my garage. They were courteous and professional throughout. Once the new panel was done and energized, they told me that I could check and see I had power back to the entire house. They also cleaned up all the debris and trash that were made during the work.

I plan on contacting George should I have any future electrical improvements or work I need around the house.

I trust this father/son team! I've used them twice for small jobs, and have found them professional, helpful, thoughtful, and kind.  I can't recommend them enough if you're looking for respectful, professional service and a company that goes the extra mile to serve their customers.

I found Legacy Electrical Contractors on Yelp and decided to give them a try based on their positive reviews - which are well-deserved.

We noticed that an old light fixture in the basement pantry was loose and looked unsafe. The outlet component needed to be replaced as well.

I called Legacy and George gave me a general quote once I described the situation and sent a few pictures.  We agreed on a date and he arrived on time. George was transparent about the price and gave me options based on my preference. It's sometimes difficult to get quality work done at a reasonable price - especially when you go with a licensed contractor (you definitely don't want to take any chances when it comes to electrical work).

The whole process was smooth from start to finish. I highly recommend George and Legacy Electrical Contractors.

Horrible, came to the house with another guy. Rushing to finish whatever he did and never came back. Left my kitchen without lights, refrigerator not working and a mess fr a week. Had the nerve of telling me that he couldn't  come on the weekend and for me to try to figure it out. We have 4 children in the house, 2 disabled and one is a baby . He did not care.
Then Mr. George called the landlord to tell him that we did not allow him back and finish the job.
This is a disgrace , we are hard working people and this man did not care about anything.

My main house circuit blew and I knew this would be a problem. I called they showed up about 2 hours later, they were in NJ when I called. After opening my panel they quickly realized my wiring was 50-60 years old and not up to code and my circuit would have to be replaced and my panel would need to be upgraded which would involve getting Con-ed to change my service lines. They showed for 5 appointments with Con-ed and always had me CC on emails. I had them also install a Level 2 charger and generator panel since they were already going to be working on everything. Their price was affordable being, in the Bronx  and trying to get a contractor to do anything and being dependable was worth more than the saving of shopping around

Prompt, professional, competent, economical and clean. This honest and respectful team will work to successfully complete your project to your satisfaction. Always a pleasure to work with them. Highly recommended!!

Excellent service! Honest, reliable, skilled, professional! Highly recommend. My super told me I had to break the wall to get an old switch out and replace wiring. Told me it was going to cost a fortune. When I explain the problem to George he said: let me take a look at it. He was able to remove the switch and replace the switch. He was pleasure to deal with and he charged me a reasonable price.

I was having an issue with an outlet and a light fixture in my apartment in Astoria. I found Legacy on yelp and decided to give them a shot based on the positive reviews. I sent them a message and received a response within minutes, I called and spoke to George in the afternoon on 9/20. We made an appointment for 9/21 and I could see his truck parked outside 5 minutes before the appointment - great!

George and Jimmy came in and diagnosed my problem, gave me an estimate and fixed my problem expeditiously. They were both friendly, set up a drop cloth to keep my floors clean, and they did a great job. Their attention to detail, and prices were fantastic. They tested everything before they left, and I couldn't be happier.

George and Jimmy are very professional, and they're definitely experts. Next time I have an issue I know who to call. Thank you!

This is an unusual event for me - stopping by Yelp to talk about a business that I want to recommend.

In the past I've been here mainly to complain about businesses that made me feel like I was nothing more than a big dollar sign in their eyes.

I'm here now to tell you that I spent a few weeks looking around for an electrician who wouldn't rip me off, 'cause let's face it, these guys don't have the best of reputations. I ended up getting three recommendations. The first two simply didn't show up (I think my neighborhood just isn't fancy enough:-) The last not only showed up but he arrived exactly on time. He spent about ten minutes investigating the problem, and then proceeded to make the repair which took about an hour. He explained what he was doing and why he was doing it, and when it came time to settle up he gave me a price that stunned me. I figured that I'd be looking at something like $700 to !000. I even braced myself for the hit. The final bill was less than $200!

Was I impressed? Am I writing this review?-)

All I can say is if you want someone to recommend an electrician that has his integrity in the right place you can trust me when I say that this was one of the best experiences I have ever had when it comes to any service related to the home.

I had an electrical issue that caused my boiler to shutdown, this happened on a cold Sunday during the winter. Called Legacy, George showed up promptly. The guys addressed the issue,and did a clean job. I would definitely use them again.

Found Legacy on Angie's list. Very happy I ended up calling this company to do my electricity work. I had about 3 different companies come to my house before Legacy and they gave me an absurd price. However when Jimmy came, he was very helpful and very fair. He took his time when working which really showed me he cared about what he was doing. Needed extensive electrical work done in my new home and was unsure of which electrical company I should use and trust. I got a few quotes and went with this company because of the professionalism of the proposal they gave me. Showed me they knew their business well and I was right! Professional, courteous and 100% satisfied with the work they did for us. I will now use them for all of my electrical needs!

I wanted to echo the positive feedback which others have given to Legacy.  George returned my call very promptly and we arranged for a next-day appointment.  He and Jimmy came on time, and not only assessed the situation (new line needed for an A/C unit) but completed the job immediately.  Very happy with the results, and they were a pleasure to deal with.

Smart, quick, ethical and available!  Second generation business.  Came right away (when he said he would), diagnosed and fixed the problem - and a few other issues quickly.  Available on weekends as well!

I called George for an appointment, and he called me back several times when we could not find a time. He impressed me with his diligence in terms of scheduling an appointment. He texted me when he was on his way, and he and his father showed up on schedule. They did a great job at a fair and reasonable price. George Kousiaris is now my go to electrician. As good as it gets!  Well, they got that right.  When I suddenly had a very strange electrical problem in my coop apt, maybe because of something I did, I could feel the stress electrifying my body....last times I had electricians in, for an estimate, I was told I couldnt do what I wanted, I got outrageous estimates, I was lied to (actually showed the guy a copy of the code to show he was wrong...that went over well :) ).  So I was braced, No need. George, on the phone listened, told me he knew the type of building I was in and some of quirkiness of the wiring, and asked the cost, he told me $150/hr.....but also assured me that it didnt sound like it should take any more than an hour. Sure, I thought, but ok.  He arrives in less than 4 hours, and in less than 5 hours the problem is not only solved, it is thoroughly explained. Then I asked, as long as he was there about other work i wanted done and abandoned in frustration.  A job that I had told couldnt be done the way I wanted by another electrician? Turns out he was right, but it took George to explain why that turned on a technicality, and THEN he explained how it could be done better at just about the same cost. Then the next item which was tricky...IDEAS TO CHOOSE from and a nice, while we're there combo price. They listened, they thought, they responded, costs were reasonable and they did what they needed to do... no more no less...to solve my immediate problem.  Congrats to them on the first 5* review ever from me on Yelp (and among the very few positive ones I have bothered to write). I highly recommend them and look forward to their completion of the additional work we discussed.
