I reside in a beautiful hundred year old brownstone in Harlem love everything about it, but as you'd imagine a bldg this old has well quirks and often needs attention from window people, radiator people, plumbers and so on. My point is In the 20 plus years of living in this flat I've had more than my fair share of workman, repair people, restorers, painters and plumbers...I could go on. Most get the job done, most are pleasant but, not by a long shot, are all, even subpar. Some are surly, late , Ill-prepared. Some so shoddy as to need another repair person to repair what the first repair-person attempted.. all of this to say I've seen all I care to see of what passes for customer service these days and shudder at the thought of anything in need of attention. But of course life happens. Things break, wear out etc... first to go : my door intercom, the release, didn't. Then the closet light stopped working. and of course then, the track lighting in the living room. is it the track , a fuse, a short ? was anyone's guess. Calls were made to the Bldg owner appts were made I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best.. AND Then that's exactly what showed up the best. Solutions were arrived at that didnt send me to the highest costing option available, friendly prompt left in an hour all issues resolved my place neat as pin and a cost no more than I might spend in in decent restaurant for dinner for 4. And I'm not in the dark anymore!
Could not be happier ask for Jaiden Lee if you have that option but I'm sure everyone is great there if he is any indicator.
They have my business and yes I well realize how gushy this sounds, he was that good.
Great job guys you made my day thanks!
Overall my experience was not good. Patrick came by to check out a defective ceiling light and replace the wiring on a couple of other lights. He also replaced an outlet near the stove. All of the work took about half an hour. Patrick said he needed to order a part for the defective ceiling light and would return once that part arrived. I never heard back from him or the office so I emailed (a week later) and was told the part had shipped but there was no ETA. Another week went by with no update so I contacted the office again and was told they had to check on an ETA. I never heard back so I canceled the job. How hard is it to order and receive a part? How hard is it to keep me in the loop? I ended up paying $250 for half an hour's work and an incomplete job.

Leader was terrific in every way. Reasonably priced, worked efficiently, dedicated to resolving all our problems, and the staff was great to work with. Gurbir at the office and Johnathan the tech couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Highly recommend them and glad we found them for future electrician needs.
Great service. Company is very reliable and affordable. The technician Joseph was knowledgeable and informative. A great asset to the Leader Electric team! Will definitely use the companies services again.

I'd like to thank the owners of Leader Electric for amicably setting this matter.
After my review and email to the company the following things happened:
1) Leader sent a senior electrician to our apartment. This guy was very professional and amazing according to my spouse. He fixed the wiring (actually re-wired it) and the lights now work.
2) Leader called and said that the electrician who originally did the work in our apartment has been dismissed from their company.
3) Upon learning that we had to spend extra money to patch the various holes, Leader waived 50% of our fee, which we really appreciated.
4) Leader has a customer service team and the woman we worked with continually followed-up and left me feeling that this company has integrity, values professionalism and customer satisfaction is central to its mission. I say this since their customer service team was never rude and did not ignore our bad situation like *most* companies in NYC do... (I know this since I represented many families who dealt with fraudulent contractors after Hurricane Sandy).
They were one of the few electric companies that actually answered the phone when trying to make an appointment. They also were very understanding of the urgency and gave me an appointment the following day. They were professional and polite and very efficient.
In one hour Maxim was able to accomplish many tasks
On the phone Steven was professional, concise and courteous.

I would not hire this company at all because they're very unprofessional! I spoke with Drew (Andrew), assuming thats his real name on Thursday-July 5 and he told me someone would show up at my house on July 6-Friday between 1p-2p. Not only they never showed up but when I specifically told Drew that I have to work and would be leaving work early Friday so I can meet with their electrician given my need for their electrician to fix my door buzzer, no one showed up nor picked up the office phones after my repeatedly calling as I got stood up and lost wages by leaving work early for this poor service company, so NEVER again and be advised, proceed at your own risk....
Leader really treats you like family. I've had some things going on in my life at the time of working with them and they have been extremely understanding to say the least. They truly care for their employees and if you work hard you'll move up with them very quickly. The foremen are great, the office is always there to help you, and your coworkers are nice people. It's definitely a great place to work at whether it's temporary or permanent. There is a lot of work to be done so you'll always be out especially if the foremen like you. If you're half assing things then you'll be sitting at home while someone else works. I really enjoyed my time and the opportunity at Leader Electric.

Joe from Leader Electric came and put in two new ceiling fixtures for me. He was polite, tidy and did a great job. What a great experience! Thank you Joe and Leader Electric.

Jason was assigned to our job which involved removing our chandelier from a rental apartment we were leaving, and replacing it with a generic light fixture we provided. We also asked him to come to the new apartment to provide us with an estimate for some additional electrical work we were thinking about having done.
The entire Leader Electric team I dealt with over the phone and email (Travis, Gidget, Agnes, Paul & Neil) were super timely and responsive regardless of whether they were answering questions, providing estimates, COIs, licensing information or simply scheduling an appointment. Jason the electrician was on time, courteous, professional and a lovely person.
Their rates may be a bit high, but they are straightforward and their name Leader is accurate - they're the ultimate professionals. I would recommend them time and time again ... in fact, they're coming back this Thursday to do another job for us :)
It is not easy to find a reliable licensed electrician that can also provide the necessary paperwork to do work in a NYC co-op. Michael, the Service Manager, was quick to respond with all necessary support and to schedule a tech to come resolve my issue in a timely manor. I will use Leader Electric again in the future.
I spoke/emailed with Josh at Leader Electric. From the first interaction they were different from the MANY other electricians I called. Josh listened, asked questions, and was able to give me (a 100% accurate) estimate. Josh also got the necessary paperwork to building management within a couple of hours so we were able to schedule the job for the following day. This was incredibly helpful! He also provided the rates in writing, which made me less nervous about any bait and switch. It was a simple/small job -- replace an old flush-mount ceiling fixture with a new (same size/shape) LED light fixture and install a dimmer switch. They showed up on time and finished the work in an hour (as estimated). I spent a lot of time on Yelp trying to find an electrician and actually found Leader through a personal recommendation and I am so glad I did. I highly recommend them!!!
I've called them twice now. The first time they were amazing! Half the electricity in our apartment had gone out. They came by, fixed the issue, gave some recommendations and were great. This time, the problem was our water heater (which they had said something about the last time). We called, they were a little flakey in scheduling but worked out in the end, they came, looked around, and said it wasn't an electricity issue. Fine. He spent half an hour here (10 minutes of which were waiting for me, my apologies!) but the end bill was ~$185 (including tax)! We didn't buy anything from them. They didn't fix anything. Couldn't give me recommendations on a company that could come help. Grumble. I would sure like to make that much in half an hour.
So, first time = 5 stars; this time = 2 stars, average = 3.5 stars (rounded down because I feel like they're more 'a-ok' than a fan). I probably will end up calling them again as it seems hard to find top-rated electricians here.
Hard-working, reliable people with friendly, efficient, and upbeat service.
I had an excellent experience working with their service and would go back to them with any future electrical needs.
I would not hire these guys again. They quoted me a days work to install lights and sensors in my closets - an easy job, or so I thought. The job ended up taking four days because the techs were unprofessional and unsupervised. I had to spend a bunch of time on the phone chasing them down. Every time the techs came they left a big mess and/or a unfixed problem. They installed faulty sensors without checking them. It was quite a mess of a job.
God Leader through Home Adviser. Telephoned them on Monday; was told they would return the call. They did not. On Tuesday went to their website and determined that we could send the drawings of the project; did so. Waited. Telephoned and was asked the email address to which we had sent the drawings. When informed, we were told they would review the drawings and telephone us. Waited. Telephoned on Wednesday. Told they did not have a chance to review the drawings, but would get back to us. It is Thursday afternoon. No call, nothing. They need not concern themselves anymore- I will not disturb them. CAVEAT: If a business cannot return a potential customer's telephone calls, how will they teat their customers?

These guys are the bomb. Travis took my appointment early in the am and was able to provide a COI the same day, before work was performed. Very professional and reasonably priced. The technician (I believe his name was Bret) worked fast and came well prepared. I will definitely be using them again.

After $370, the problem is not fixed. The guy was 3 hours late and and also left a mess with broken peices of screws everywhere. The professional thing to do was to notify me after the first hour ($185 fixed fee) that he may not be able to fix the issue. Very dissappointing. The only thing I can say is that the person was nice and courteous, but I'm out nearly $400 and I still have an issue.
I wanted my old circuit breaker box replaced with a new one, 2 separate lines installed for AC units and some light switches moved to more convenient locations.
Leader was not the cheapest. The correspondence with Leader was fast and efficient. Both Neil and Travis were very responsive. They added a discount that I saw on Angie's list even after I had hired them. They made it seem like an easy job whereas other electricians had made it seem like so much work. Brent was the electrician that came to do the work. Very nice guy. Works very cleanly. I was surprised at how nicely they went into my walls. Very minimal destruction :). There were some things I changed mid-job and he gladly changed it up for me while he was working. Thanks Brent. Only issue that came up was the cleanup. I didn't realize patching and painting was not involved in the clean-up. I assumed when they open up the walls, they would close them up too. But it was stated in contract that they don't do this, I had misunderstood. So if you use them (they are good, so I do recommend them), make sure you plan for that after. Travis sent me the info of a painter who finished the work for me. I just hadn't budgeted for that expense so it was a bit of a strain. But otherwise this project went well.
Had to have my stairs replaced and about a month later the pot lights under one flight of stairs stopped working. I checked for loose wires and had to call Leader to troubleshoot the problem. Turns out the stair guys had cut most of the way through a cable; vibration did the rest. Again punctual, courteous and efficient.

Neil and Travis were great in helping me locate and purchase some specialized recessed lighting, and Andrew was just plain amazing at getting all of the wiring completed despite a very tight space. Everyone was very positive and stayed focused on completing the job as promised. We had a small issue with one light a couple of weeks after the install was done, and Mike came by at no charge to fix it, so they really stand by their work. I'd certainly use them again.
Leader Electric is an outstanding company. We contracted with them to install our tech lighting as well as other fixtures. While a little costly they are DEFINITELY worth it. They sent Adam who was wonderful. He was competent, considerate and caring...I feel fortunate to have hired Leader to do my electrical work. Don't hesitate..or even shop around..... call Leader to do your work and you will be VERY happy.

They replaced my fluorescent kitchen lights with LED. They said it couldn't be done for less than $3200. I showed them a few websites selling LED lights for much less. They then told me that the cheapest website would cost $1800 for materials, to which they would add their $800 for labor. I said ok, but I would order the materials myself. I ordered from their list, and the total for materials was $800, so they had quoted me a price $1000 over what it actually cost.
They did the work well, but yesterday the switch controlling those lights ceased to work and I thought it might be related. I called them and it was just a circuit breaker (my fault). However, for the five minutes it took to turn on the circuit breaker, they charged me $185.09.
I don't think I'll be calling Leader Electric again.

These guys are shoddy and shady. Took them a year to do my job, I dealt with a shifting cast of characters and they often showed up without any warning and left things a mess.

Excellent, Professional, Experienced, Trustworthy, Fair,
couldn't be happier with Travis and his crew. Great service, hardworking, honest.
The owner (?) Travis insisted on charging something called a landing fee at each visit -- even when the worker was returning a second day to finish a job, and even when I called to request that they replace a bad switch which they had installed only weeks earlier. Travis was condescending and totally inflexible about waiving the charge, even though I had been a repeat customer over a period about 5 years. The guys who do the work are good and very polite, but Travis' poor customer service skills left a bad taste in my mouth. I won't call them again, but I just had a very good experience with Richard of New York City Electricians.
It is hard to find a company to trust when you live in a big city. Once you speak to Neil or Travis on the phone, you will instantly realize you are dealing with a trustworthy business. Family owned and operated, they are very helpful, knowledgeable and punctual. Job was completed as directed and their workers were nice. They also gave me a short tutorial on how to calculate the Amperage of an electric stove. I would use them again.
Well I wouldn't know if they provide good service because they didn't show up. They were suppose to be here at 8, it's now 8:30, I just called and they said the guy's truck broke down. Thanks for calling or letting me know he wasn't going to be here. That would have made the difference, because stuff happens, but really, not letting me know is bullshit.
