First, I am thrilled to stick with the same electric company that has served my electrical Needs. I have been their customer since five years ago when I lived in New Providence, NJ. Back then, I had a small job done (a few receptacle outlets and switches change) in my house. When I moved to a new place in Berkeley Heights, I had to do stuff in a new home. They have upgraded the electrical service and installed an EV charger and interlock kit for my portable generator. Mind you; all electrical work was a foreign language for me, until i met guys from Firstclasselectric. An electrician thoroughly explained the whole process and answered all My questions and concerns. If you want a good quality service, hire them.
Super expensive - Charged me $800 for 20 minutes of work (if even that long with little to no cost in parts)
I'll never hire a project cost based electrician ever again like them but will instead hire someone by the hour
I suspect the simple work was done correctly but had I shopped around a bit more, it likely would have cost me $100-$200

In response to the owner's response, I definitely used first class electric and am not mistaken - the technician was Brad M. - he was very nice and responsive - my only issue was the excessive cost that I didn't know to get additional quotes for - I prefer not to identify myself to the owner for fear of reprisal
I've since learned it's almost always better to hire an electrician for $100/hour or so than to have a fixed price ahead of time, had I been told it would have taken only 20 minutes to do the work, I would have looked around further for other prices
If readers of this review still want to use First Class Electric, just get a few quotes from others to see what I'm talking about

I hired First Class Electric to install a number of recessed lighting fixtures in the dropped ceiling of my finished basement. Mariano G. was the lead technician on the project. He is personable and an excellent communicator. Jorge and Andrew also worked on the job. They have many years of experience, their expertise was evident, and they did a fine job.
Leading up to the install, Mariano responded to my phone calls immediately, and then followed through on everything we discussed, offering suggestions along the way.
The crew showed up on time, were polite and considerate, worked efficiently, and cleaned up nicely after they were finished. The work was professional, their pricing was competitive.
Used 1st class for a bathroom exhaust fan installation. They knocked it out of the park, brad and his guys not only were fast but managed to plan for no extra holes in sheet rock aside from the fan housing. Couldnt be happier. Would def recommend.
First Class Electric installed additional recessed lights in my kitchen and they did a fantastic job. Brad M. was the lead technician on the project. He was thorough during the consultation and presented different options, which allowed me to pick a package that best fits my needs and budget. The customer service at First Class Electric was also very responsive and took care of any questions I had.
Brad and the crew that worked on the job were on time and professional. The work done was exactly as agreed. They even corrected an issue with an existing wiring that they discovered along the way free of charge as courtesy, which I appreciate. I highly recommend them.

Work was done quickly and smoothly. The electrician was very helpful and clearly knew how to set up what I wanted exactly how I wanted it. If I have any other electrical work to be done on my house, I know who to call.
The first time I called this company, it wound up being an issue PSE&G needed to fix. The service tech spotted the issue outside my home and never even came inside. He was right, and he caught a dangerous issue that I had rectified that same day.
Since then, I've called First Class Electric out several times. Most recently for an outlet that suddenly stopped working. Within 15 minutes, we learned what the issue was and the tech Neil also offered a solution, although it didn't require any manual labor. I was charged $94.90 (including tax) for the diagnostic fee, which is fine.
All in all, each time I've used this company, I've received good service from end to end - from the time the owner responds to my message via Yelp (always promptly) to the service call, diagnosis and service performed (if necessary).
This company is fantastic! After dealing with HomeAdvisor's electrician who charged me, then never showed up to do the repairs, I was extremely impressed with electrician Dan's frequent communication both prior to, during and following completion of the repairs. Along with the outstanding customer service, was a very reasonably priced invoice. I highly recommend this company!!

Purchased our first home in Port Reading, we needed a panel and service upgrade along with adding additional outlets, installing light Fixtures, etc. We received multiple quotes after what seemed like a thousand interviews. First Class Electric was going to be our last quote. When Mariano showed up he instantly made us feel comfortable and calmed our anxiety that came with making the right decision on such a big project. He took his time answered all our questions in detail and provided different options to accomplish all our requests. He handled the permit and scheduling of the inspection. Mariano went above and beyond throughout the entire project while displaying an unmatched level of professionalism, transparency, and attention to detail. I just wanted to thank Brad from First Class Electric for the great work and customer service provided to us during our home remodel. Brad was friendly, detailed about the work and was easy to work with. His attention to detail, focus on safety and professionalism put our mind at ease during a stressful time. It seemed like a very easy job to install a microwave fan and vent, and installing an A/C condenser but after going through each step with Brad we were confident that not only was he doing the job correctly but he took the extra time to make sure we wouldn't have any issues going forward. Brad also made sure to point out other things in our home that would need to be brought up to code or should be replaced. Overall, we had a great experience with one great electrician and will be recommending to friends and family. We loved that we were able to get a pdf invoice emailed instead of a paper copy.

I contacted First Class Electric because they were the highest rated electrician in my area & they more than exceeded my every expectation. They replied to my request in minutes & set up an appointment immediately.
Boris & Neil deserve top marks all around. Neil arrived early for the appointment which was the next day & he completed everything without any delay. They literally took care of everything. The permit & everything else you name it. They even contacted me after the final inspection approval was put in the towns records in their system. One stop shopping here.
I can't recommend them highly enough!

Had an assessment with Neal. He was punctual, friendly, calm.
We had some concerns about our new home from the Inspector, and Neal advised that the issue wasn't as serious as it was made out to be, and that the current electrical work was safe. He also mentioned that safety codes are constantly changing, so it's something that can be fixed in the future but didn't need to be done ASAP. He really helped alleviate our worries.
I appreciate that he didn't try to scare us, or pressure us to get work done with his company. His estimate was fair as we got another estimate recently to expand our electrical box and it was comparable.
Ultimately, we are going in another direction because we are doing more extensive house work and our PM has her own team of people to use.
Definitely recommend him for estimates and inspections.

First Class was really easy to communicate with through Yelp - responsive and even followed up with me several times in order to get someone out to my house days earlier than the original appointment. Neil was thorough and communicated everything he had to do. Also was great about maintaining social distance and wearing a mask while working. Very positive experience. Won't hesitate to use First Class again in the future.
Neil and Jonas did first class work!!! Reasonably priced for very professional neat workers who go the extra mile. They installed outlets, fixed a bathroom fan, recessed lights and ceiling fans where there was nothing. I am extremely pleased with everything they installed so efficiently. Great job!!

Kinda pricy (175 for just the base service charge), but worth it if you're in quick need. They seem to be readily available and flexible in timing. Neil came over to fix a faulty dimmer/light switch and while the service didn't blow me away, he was quick and efficient and gave me a dimmer at comparable cost. Will likely use them again if I need something done quickly. They also have a couple coupons/promos on their website so be sure to check that out to save a few bucks.

Great company so far. Extremely professional and punctual. I was the one late for the appointment today, but Dan came and actually listened to the issue. I advised him of the recent work another company did in which technically required permits (found that out now). Dan then fixed an outlet that was causing us problems and because of him I found that the specific outlet was backstabbed which the last company said it was not. Dan was personable. He didn't mind I was around trying to learn and reciprocated conversation about my concerns and desired projects. I will definitely be calling back for future issues or projects. A little pricey for a service call, but honestly, it's worth it for a little peace of mind and the customer service provided.

Their quote on the service change was not the lowest but decided to go with them because they were responsive on the phone and the technician who provided the quote was very knowledgeable and polite. They did an amazing job and would certainly recommend to anyone!

Highly recommend First Class Electric! We had an estimate appointment and Boris was very prompt with scheduling. Jonas arrived and identified the issue we had with our ceiling fan. He inspected the power source but then noticed there was no string on the fan and asked if we had a remote. My son said we did and dug it out and pressed the button and it worked! Ha! He gave us a fair estimate to hang another dining room fan and sent along the estimate that evening. My husband realized he had a friend to hang the light for us instead, but we will definitely consider using First Class again for electric needs in the near future. Jonas also waived a fee to diagnose the electrical issue since we did not discuss any pricing upfront-he didn't charge us. What an awesome company!
Recently had some trouble with electricity in my house. I believe it was breaker that tripped ( i have bunch of appliances running). I guess hairdryer on max did the job... well did some research and called first class electric. First of all i liked free phone consultation, kind of gave me an idea what might have happened. Very quickly we booked an appointment and the same day everything was fixed. I didn't have to spend evening with candles, thank God! Highly recommend, guys doing excellent job. Plus wasn't as expensive as i expected.

Professional, intelligent and efficient Company.
John fixed for me today a long standing tough lighting issue, that was quite difficult to detect: it turned to be a cut wire inside the walls that was preventing lighting a couple of locations in the house. He found and fixed the problem, with no wall damage and in a very clean/professional manner.
It was rather expensive though (175$ for the job + taxes), yet I think well worth it.
Perfectly satisfied with the job done, and will certainly revert to them should I encounter any future electrical issue.

I will be definitely be using First Class Electric again in the future! Boris was very helpful in scheduling the initial estimate and then the appointment. Jonas and Neil replaced 10+ lights in our home and were extremely professional and efficient. They were there on time, the work cost what they said it would and our lights look fantastic.

These guys were great. Came over the day we called, and gave us the price right off the bat. They diagnosed the problem, and fixed it when the other electrician we called tried to tell us we needed a new $1200 breaker box from a photo my wife sent them. Anyway, do yourself a favor and call these guys first.
Needed a quick fix on outlet behind king bed it sparked & blew breaker. Answered immediately fit us in immediately nice guy all Done so pleased.called back & forth to set up appt the best
these guys installed a new service line for me. They were up front about the price and gave me few options on replacement. I felt they were very professional through out the entire process. They even made sure I pass township inspection so I could get power the same day! I will definitely use them again.

Carlos was very professional. Called at noon with a problem and he was there by 2:30. He was honest, knew what the issue was and spotted a problem that could have started an electrical fire. Would recommend this company to anybody.
Update. They were supposed to call after labor day to set up service date. Well, no call yet, and it's almost a week after the holiday.

Called first class electric, they Scheduled me an appointment for the following day. I was nervous the fact they were charging me by the hour but the technician, Jonas worked quickly, (he was getting paid by the hour so he didn't have to be so quik). Took him a little over an hour to complete the job and only charged me for the hour. Very professional, honest and would definitely recommend.
I sell and install music, TV, and network systems. Occasionally, my customers need electrical work either for the work I'm doing or for something unrelated, and they ask me for a reliable electrician. Several times I've recommended First Class Electric and my customers have always been satisfied, as have I.
Just an update that I continue to use First Class for jobs in my house and continue to be a very happy customer. Now I've also worked with Neil and he is outstanding as well. Very knowledgeable and great at explaining what he knows and is doing so I know. Thank you!

I had a very good experience with First Class Electric. It was very easy to schedule my appointment, all done via email. My electrician Neil was friendly, professional and very helpful. Would definitely use this company again in the future!
Had them install a new plug to install a new dishwasher. They came promptly, were very courteous and did a fantastic job! The plumber who came after First Class left commented on the quality of the work and asked for their name so he could refer other customers to them. We will definitely recommend First Class to others!
Moved into a home in Woodbridge-immaculately kept by its 80 year old builder-except for the original two prong outlets throughout the house! Saw FCE's yelp ads and gave them a call, they came and have me a fairly priced estimate ( about 630 for grounding and replacing 21 outlets). They arrived on time (and a day early!) and were friendly, helpful, and extremely professional. And Constantine can really carry on a funny conversation! Would recommend them to anyone

Jonas came and addressed our problem, even though it was minor. He was friendly, easy going, knowledgeable, and efficient. He even put socks around his feet without asking while he was in the house which I thought was very thoughtful considering I spent the whole weekend cleaning my floors (which he didn't know). I was thoroughly satisfied with the work and the professionalism and would definitely refer and call them again when work and emergencies happen.
One of the area's best kept secrets. I love dealing with this company. Their pricing is reasonable, the owners are involved in the operation, and the work is professional. Why go anywhere else?

Great service. Had them replace a subpanel and diagnose some wiring problems. Both technicians were great, Boris was very helpful with scheduling and permits all while delayed by major snow storms.
I contacted First Class Electric to get an estimate on some electrical work that I wanted done in my home. I spoke with Jonas and scheduled an appointment. Days before the appointment I received a reminder call. I also received a call on the day of my appointment to let me know within the hour when they would arrive. The electrician, Neil, was personable and professional. As we went through my list, he answered all of my questions. He provided me with an estimate that was good for 30 days and since I had several projects he offered me a discount. Since there was some repair work that First Class did not do, I elected to get another estimate; however, the other vendor did not do the repair work either so I ended up forfeiting my service call fee with the other vendor but with the discount First Class offered I was still ahead. I would definitely recommend them.
Real nice guys and very responsible. They'll be there until the job gets done. No cutting corners with them.
Jonas and his crew were able to come out two days after calling to put in a transfer switch and an extra outlet. Very pleased with their work.
Neal arrived during the scheduled window to replace a blown circuit breaker. He did a great job at a reasonable price. Courteous, explained what he needed to do then did it. I would use FCE again without hesitation.
First Class Electric recently fixed an electrical problem in my rental. They were prompt, great rates, and were able to quickly identify and correct the issue in under an hour. What a relief!
