Dealing with D & J has been a frustrating fiasco. Poor communication, two cancellations by them, and I am still waiting for them to do work!
I purchased a water heater and installation through the local Lowe's, and D & J is their plumbing contractor. D & J and I scheduled a water heater installation for Tues, Feb 19th to start sometime between 8am and 12 pm. We couldn't get them to narrow that window, so my wife cleared her whole day to be safe (I work during that day). The 19th rolls around and it snows a little. They call me saying they need to reschedule due to there being too much snow on the ground. All the snow on the roads melted and the roads were drying off when I talked to them at 1 pm. I told them to call my wife for any scheduling or other communication because I cannot be around my phone during the day due to my work. I gave them my wife's number, they call her, and they schedule for Fri Feb 22nd sometime between 3pm and 5pm (the earliest they could come out).
Today is the 22nd, I get off work at 3 pm to find my phone with some voicemails from D & J asking me when to come over that day to install the water heater. They talked to my wife and scheduled a specific time period a few days earlier. Confused, I call my wife. Nobody from D & J called her all day. I call the D & J office, phone rings then goes to voicemail. I leave a message asking to call me back. After 30 minutes (and no call back), I call again and get someone this time. The D & J person told me that they have to reschedule because nobody could get a hold of me. I said my wife should have been called, she says they don't have her number nor is there no note to call her instead of me (even though they did just that earlier in the week). Frustrated, I reschedule for first thing in the morning Mon Feb 24 (apparently a start between 8am-12pm is first thing in the morning) and I tell the D & J person that I will take off work, stay at home and have my phone on me all day so there shouldn't be any issue with getting a hold of anyone for a water heater install! I then tell work I need to take off that day (and use vacation time) and reschedule my pets' vet appointment that was supposed to happen that afternoon.
Hopefully I will update this with a successful install of a water heater!
