I called them to switch out my swamp cooler and to get a quote to switch to central heat and air.  They quoted me somewhere around 167 dollars for the switchover but told me nothing about a trip charge.

The tech that came out to service my swamp cooler called the office after I complained about the charge,  but whoever he talked to refused to remove it.  The tech said I could call their office to dispute the charge but I did not want to deal with more aggravation at that point although I was upset over the charge.  

I later received a call from someone in their office to set up an appointment for the estimate for the switch and I told her I was no longer interested because of the trip charge they snuck into my bill, she was very apologetic and assured me a refund.  After not seeing my refund processed, I called them back and the lady I talked to said it would take 2 weeks, so I wonder if they are going to give it back.  They were very quick to take it.  

I sought to speak to someone about the status of my refund first, by calling  management (one of their options), but the call went directly to voicemail.  I then called the service center and after putting me on hold the lady I talked to then told me she had spoken to someone in management,  and told me they would expedite the refund.  Also, the tech that was coming today for the estimate never bothered showing up.

2 week waiting time for a refund for something they incorrectly charged me for is unacceptable. I would not recommend them for the above experience.  Horrible!

This company is a rip off!!!!  Called to have a damper installed, the tech came by took a picture of my swamp cooler sent it to his supervisor who gave me a quote of $1795 and the charged me $80 service fee for taking a photo.  I called TLC they did the job for $300.

These guys are great. This is the third time I've used them and they seem to get better and better. Ben was my service person and he was on time, communicated perfectly before and during the visit and got my complicated Breezair swamp cooler up and running quickly. Definitely will keep using them again and again and so should you.

The guy came out and did nothing except collect their $79 service fee. Then I wanted them to come out and install an O E M solenoid valve on my evaporative cooler. First they said the guy would and then they called me back and told me he would come out and charge me the service fee and see if that was the problem. All they want to do is collect their $79 service fee and do nothing. Just another Albuquerque Plumbing Company I can't call again. Can anybody do anything anymore?

Be careful!!  I called this company to repair my toilet. Not because I couldn't, but because I didn't want to. They came out and quoted me $174 to change the FLAPPER!  I told them no and went to Home Depot and bought the part for $3.99 and repaired myself in ten minutes. I understand there are costs to operate a business, but I felt they were trying to over charge me. I will not call them again. Be careful!!

We had our first issue of water leaking out of our frost prevention hose bib/spigot.  One company, came to estimate...no work...tried 3 times to get the work done, only came to estimate, couldn't get them back‍ I noticed, just by chance, a B Carlson truck across the street.

I went and spoke to Paul, had a nice, reasonable & informative chat.  Long story short, today, Ryan came, fixed our issue, got some estimates for future work, updates and getting things up to code, which we thought we'd already accomplished 5 years ago‍ My wife and I very delighted with Ryan's work ethic, demeanor and quick repair. Appreciated his patience and time, in giving estimates. We're thankful too, for the associates in the office, Carmen and Ashland for handling questions and needs!!!

All in all for us, this is a 5Business, though this was a small issue, it's relieved anxiety. And relief has a calming effect

I had 6-7 companies come to my house and provide estimates for a new refrigerated air installation. Carlson was not the lowest bidder, or the highest.  In contracting terms, I thought they offered the best overall value.  I have not been disappointed.  They performed the job exactly as they said, including being on time and having a sufficient number of employees to do the job as planned.  To a person, all B-Carlson staff were honest, professional, and courteous.  I had a follow-up issue that they are rectifying, even though it is not directly related to the install - - this is above and beyond what I expected.  B-Carlson has surpassed my expectations, and they have won me over as a customer.  And I will honor their request that A positive review is the highest compliment we can earn.  I gladly give B-Carlson this compliment.

Very friendly and professional. They do a great job and take pride in their work. Very quick to help and excellent customer service. Have used them for years and have never had a problem with their work or staff.  Recently had my counters resurfaced and Marcos was very efficient in moving my stuff and removing my sink. He then installed my new sink, faucet and disposal and moved my appliances back. I have also had a furnace, hot water heater, humidifier, and toilets replaced by this business. Highly recommend.

I've been a customer of B. Carlson for the last 12 years.  I had the preferred service agreement with them, gladly paying for the peace of mind.

This year they jacked the cost up 30% without telling me.  I didn't find out until the service technician was done with the service.

That's absolutely ridiculous.  Time for a new company to do my annual maintenance.

Our heater stopped working and we called B Carlson to see if someone could come take a look it it. They were able to send someone the next day. Dave came and figured out it was the ignitor. He put in a new one and went through all the steps to make sure it was working properly. He was very thorough and ensured it was fixed before leaving.  He was prompt and courteous. We will definitely use B Carlson in the future.

Simply the best! I recently bought a home and discovered the home inspectors had passed my evap cooler, which obviously was not working.  Which got me worrying about the furnace and the hot water heater they had also OK'd I had used Carlson for years when I lived in ABQ years ago  so I immediately called them again. Sean was extremely nice, very competent and totally helpful. He confirmed the cooler was trashed and even provided photos and a detailed description of the problems, along with a quote to replace. He also reassured me the furnace and hot water heater were OK. Now I knew what I had to deal with - and was no longer worried about what else might have been missed. Also have to mention that Cindy in customer service is super helpful and great with follow up. I can't imagine using any other company for my heating, AC or plumbing.

Not very good !! Diagnosed my heater having a bad board which I bought for $160 plus overnight shipping, same problem, had another Heating AC company check my heater only to find the board was fine, it was the smart valve !!  Waste of money, dont call Carlson.

Our air conditioner was not working and we hired B. Carlson to come out and check it.  Jordan, the technician, was amazing.  He thoroughly went through the unit and found several issues and was able to fix them all.  I highly recommend them; and ask for Jordan.  I was so pleased that I decided to sign up for the yearly contract.

My recent experience with B Carlson Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing, Inc. was a very negative one
I scheduled a Tuesday appointment with them to repair a leaky kitchen faucet
Their staff called me at 2:45 to let me know the technician was just leaving the Bosque and would be at my home on the Westside by 3:30pm
I left work early and drove home to find a note on my front door telling me they had been by 45 minutes earlier and had to leave
I called the office and was told by a female employee that she had pulled their technician off the job
Really???
I even called their supposed 24/7 number to try and get a plumber out that evening but Carlson never returned my call
I found B Carlson to be very unreliable and highly unprofessional
i would not recommend this company to Albuquerque home owners

I think these guys are total scam artists. We have had an annual contract for several (2-3)years. That means they come out every winter and spring to do the changeover of our heater and evaporative cooler. EVERY SINGLE TIME they have come out, without even one exception, they somehow found a problem that cost between $150 and $600. I repeat, not a single exception.  So today the price was supposed to be $169 for a new belt. Why they didn't find the belt during the winter shutdown is unknown.  The tech said he was going to charge me for that plus the annual contract. I told him I wanted to talk to my wife before agreeing to pay the annual contract. He says that today is the first day of the new cycle! So if I don't pay the annual contract, he has to charge me more.  I told him THEN I DEFINITELY DON'T WANT TO RENEW THE CONTRACT.  It cost me $329. Yes, I paid an additional $160 to be rid of these people.

I wish I could give a better review for these guys, but I can't and I don't plan to do business with them ever again. I used these guys last year because I was having a problem with my boiler/hot water heater combo unit and out of all the plumbing outfits I used these guys finally got it fixed for me, but that is where the good stops. I hired them again after that to repair dripping faucets in my house, they charged me $500 and after just a day or so they were all having issues again and the guy couldn't fix my shower faucet so he said he would have to get a price on replacing and get back to me, which never happened, but he gladly charged me for attempting to repair it... I travel for work about 85-90% of the time so I couldn't deal with it right away so I figured I'd wait until they called me with a price to replace the shower faucet, but as I said that never happened, so after a few months I was able to spend a little time at home, so I called these guys to see if they'd make it right? Well the lady I spoke with was very nice and she said she would get with the Service Manager and get back to me. She called back the next day and said they'd send someone else out as a potential warranty repair but no guarantees, I agreed and they sent someone out. After he looked at everything the guy went to his van and got some pricing together to fix what they had already tried to before and came back and told me this time it would be over $700, I asked him if he spoke to the Service Manager and he said no, so I asked him to give him a call and let me know what he says, I informed him I'd be willing to pay for any needed parts but I felt I was owed the labor or at least a credit since they didn't fix it the first time... Well he came back and said sorry but it is past our warranty and asked if I wanted to spend another $700 to fix... um no thanks, so I sent him away with my faucets still broken. Then a month or so later my boiler/hot water heater breaks again on a Saturday, I really didn't want to use these guys again since I had a bad taste already, but hey they fixed it the first time so... I called them and got a guy out here on Saturday, I explained what was going on and he admitted he really didn't know a lot about these units but he'd look at it. He looked at it, called the boiler guy who fixed it last time and he said it appeared to him it would need replacement and that he'd have the boiler expert come out Monday to verify, which meant no heat or hot water all weekend, but what could I do but wait? So Monday comes around and no call, so finally we call them and are told that they spoke about it and think it's best to just replace the unit and they'd send someone else out to give us a quote, what happened to the boiler expert coming out??? Too busy I guess. So they send out someone to give a quote, I speak with him and ask about my options, is it really best to have my home heating and hot water on one system so when one fails they both fail??? Well according to this guy my cheapest and quickest route is to replace with a similar unit just different brand and he'd go get an estimate together and email me. A couple hours later I get an email with a quote for $12,000! Really cheapest route??? It was time to start calling around for another opinion. I did email them back and tell them I thought $12,000 was ridiculous and I wanted other options, so he said he'd get back to the office and see what he could do. So after a bit I get another email stating we were able to knock the original estimate down $1800 to $10,200 and here is another estimate with a different option for $4000, ok so now I feel really ripped off, how do you just knock the original down $1800? Shouldn't this have been the price you gave me at first??? Needless to say I am not using B Carlson ever again for me or the company I work for, I feel this company is all about making $ and not taking care of people. Sorry so long winded, but I think everyone should hear my experiences. Oh and they did still charge me $80 for sending someone out on Saturday to do nothing. That is the last $ they'll get from me!

Make sure that they charge for each dispatch whether they fix problem or not. Double check before call them to come over. Well, I rather call other company. They talk a lot, but do not know how to fix a problem. Just change part that works fine then charge. Oops, it still did not work. Do not waste your time with them! If there is no star, I definitely pick that. They do not deserve one star.
