They did work for me a few years ago!! Great service and great eye for detail. I called to have work don at my home during the pandemic. Their booked until September. I'm waiting patiently because they will get the job done right.

This is the second time I've asked them to come to my house to fix another plumbing issue and as usual, they were awesome. Michael came over with a mask. He was very courteous and professional. He immediately diagnosed the plumbing issue. He replaced it with new parts. And now the problem is gone and everything looks beautiful and brand new. They are the best!!

You can and should find better.

Attitude/Customer Treatment & Cost: Don't expect a company who values their customer.

They did a good job of completing the work in a timely manner. However, the person on the phone was extremely rude. You are just another customer and they do not give a damn about your time or respect. They are also definitely at the top of the cost spectrum. I don't mind paying for quality but not when it's way over the normal premium.

Rob came out to our house in late August to look at a leaking pipe. He gave a quote for repairing it and suggested that we could wait until October and then he could come and do the pipe and service our boiler at the same time. He even generously offered to do the boiler for free while he was there. So I waited and called back today (October). The person who answered the phone was appallingly rude. He basically yelled: we can't do your pipes we are too busy!! then put me on hold. Then when he got back on the phone he said, so you want us to come service your boiler or what??! I explained calmly that we needed the pipes repaired and he said well we won't do that and hung up on me. I understand if he is busy but that is NO WAY to speak to anyone - especially someone new to the town who is calling for the first time. I was completely taken aback by how rude he was - a complete contrast to the experience when Rob came to our house. My hope is that someone there reads this and gets back to me because I have heard so many good things about them and I can't believe they would let anyone speak to clients this way.

Excellent family-run plumbing service.  Responsive, professional and reasonably priced.  Couldn't recommend them more highly.

I am so thankful for these guys!  I originally called them to get help with an original bathtub and plumbing in my house that's almost 100 years old that was leaking hot water.  Somehow (when it rains it pours, huh?), our hot water heater went the day before they were supposed to come!  They not only installed a new hot water heater for a good price, but also fixed our bathtub and 2 toilets.  I received an estimate from another company that was ready to replace both toilets and told us our only option was to get rid of our bathtub and get a new one.  

As we have an old house that seems to always have one issue or another, we fully intend to use them again for all of our plumbing needs!  Thanks so much!!

Used JH for a few things so far. Removing and replacing cast iron radiators (for us to clean and paint), a well as remove and replace a water heater.

Horrible experience, and damaged my faucet. Then yelled at me using profanity when I called about the issue.

This family run (Father & sons) business is just the sort of congenial Plumber one would hope to find in town.  They have been in business for four generations without advertising or growing into a mega corporation.  They are accommodating, reliable, efficient and skilled.  I am fully satisfied with the professional work they did in my home, and I will continue to use them for years to come, and I recommend them to one and all in the Clair.

Called JH to fix a running faucet and adjust a kitchen faucet which was loose. They scheduled a visit for the next day, came on time and were done in an hour including a trip to the hardware store.

Pretty much as good as it gets.

Just the best contractor in town I have seen so far. Amazing service and availability. Last time I called on a saturday evening, they came the next morning Sunday at 9am to restart my boiler after the summer (for free!!). And this is just one example!

Needed to install a natural gas extension for a new stove.  Came out within the day to give us an estimate, complete the work, and remove the old stove from kitchen for pick-up.  Friendly and professional.  Local family-owned business.  Price was reasonable.  Happy to recommend them and will be using them again in the future.

This was the first time that I called Heyrich Plumbing and Heating. Got reasonable price for the boiler return piping deteriorating and a valve replaced on one of the specialty radiators I have. I was there while they worked. They were upbeat and did a really great job. They tightened my water level sight and put in cleaning solution in my water boiler for free because it was needed.  I would definitely use them again.

Quality work, done quickly at a fair price by friendly people who know their stuff and clearly want it done right.

It's always satisfying when after much due diligence you make the correct decision. These folks are a local family owned business who have been in business for a very long time, primarily because they do quality work at reasonable prices. I will absolutely be calling Heyrich the next time I need a plumber.

This is a small, family run plumbing business and the work they do is timely, affordable and efficient. All the guys who work here are friendly and respectful. They do an excellent job.  I just want to give my money to a company who does great work that I can trust. This plumber is it.

My family has used the plumbing services of this local business for several years. They have always done a good job and the prices seem fair. I haven't shopped around much for plumbers, but I feel I don't need to given the service I have received over the years. I would highly recommend John Heyrich, especially if you are local to Montclair.

A neighbor gave my fiance and I a glowing recommendation for Heyrich Plumbing & Heating when we moved to Montclair. Since then they have handled every single plumbing and heating issue we'd had with our home, and both of our rental properties. My fiance and I have since moved away from Montclair for his job, but we still own our 2 multi -family rental homes there and Heyrich is the ONLY plumbing company we use. They are always timely, professional, and most importantly they do amazing work that withstands the test of time... and if there is EVER an issue, they'll come and fix it. I cannot recommend them enough!

We've used these guys since 1995, when I saw the senior Heyrich quoted in the NY Times.  Since then they have saved us from weird handyman mishaps, flooding, a dicey water heater, faucet problems, etc.  They are great about returning calls promptly.  They are honest and explain exactly what they have to do.  I would never hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I would never recommend them. Their technician looked at my leaky sink drain and we discussed how long it might take to obtain a needed part. I waited a couple of weeks for them to get back to me (during which time I was considerably inconvenienced by this sink not being usable), finally called and talked to the elder Heyrich. They had never even ordered the part, and he declined the job because my home was too dirty.

My housekeeping is not going to win any awards, but (1) the bathroom involved had been mopped the day before, and (2) aren't plumbers supposed to be comfortable working even in environments involving overflowing sewage (which mine was not)?

If you want a plumber that gives gratuitous assessments of your housekeeping skills, these are your guys. If you want one that does actual plumbing work, look elsewhere.

Great local shop. Timely and professional. Extremely please with their services over the years.

Old house but new to us. First week in and our pilot light wouldn't stay lit and our son overflowed the bathtub due to the stopper not being sealed. Called Heyrich both times and Scotty came within the hour. He was super nice to my kids who were interested in everything he was doing and he explained lots of things we needed to know about the plumbing of our home. Needless to say we needed a new water heater a few days after they provided a fix. When I called again, the person who answered heard that I had kids in the background and made sure I got a water heater installed that day. I highly recommend them as I had a ton of questions and was never up sold on anything. The bonus is that when I got the bill I was still able to smile as it was exactly as discussed.

They do a great job of handling small and large projects. Responsive and reliable. Highly recommend.

I moved into my new house in July and went to turn on our boiler for the first time a few days ago only to find the sight glass totally full and a clogged drain spout. I called John Heyrich and explained the situation, and they sent one of the friendliest and most knowledgable service pros I've ever interacted with. He unclogged everything, explained how I could maintain the sight glass in the future and gave me other tips on keeping the boiler running properly.

I called this company, made an appointment and waited for 2 days and no one ever showed up or called. Additionally, I was treated horribly and told to take my business elsewhere when I told Rob they never called or showed...you know what I will take my money and give it to a plumber who respects his customers and not have his head up his rectum..

Heyrich just installed a new gas hot water heater and did an amazing job at a great price.  The old unit was removed and the new one installed in less than 90 minutes.  The team also made sure that I had the safety features installed (for our second floor water heater) to ensure that we would have no issues if the city water pressure dropped or we turn off the master water line to the house.  They also fixed -- at no additional charge -- the gas heating unit that PSEG had recently installed to bring the exhaust vent for that unit up to code!  That is simply outstanding customer service...

I rarely write reviews but John Heyrich and his sons have gone above and beyond.  Their professionalism and customer service is outstanding.  They have always been incredibly reliable and thoughtful in their approach to various plumbing issues in our home. We highly recommend them and would use no one else!

I had to call for a plumber last minute and not only did they come within 30 minutes, they were able to take care of everything that day.  The job they did was great and they were so personable and professional!  Highly recommend!!!!

We recently bought a century old colonial in Montclair and it came equipped with a steam heating system that previous owners have let slide into utter disarray through carelessness and neglect. Spurred into action by sky high gas bills and armed with Dan Holohan's excellent Art of Steam book I've been slowly restoring it to good operating condition. However, there are certain types of repairs that should only be done by a professional. One such item is a steam radiator valve that after 10+ years usually becomes de-factor welded to the pipes. You can theoretically watch enough youtube videos to attempt replacement yourself but the price of failure is snapping the main pipe which would require opening the floorboard in the room which is not fun, not to mention expensive. John's team arrived promptly and finished the task expediently. The price was fair. As such I'd not hesitate calling him in the future.
