Really nice guy- hired for molding work- good work- great value. Would hire again and would recommend for any handy work needed at a fair price with a quick turnaround time.

Jorge is very professional and meticulous. He not only fixed my faucet but also went above and beyond got my whole shower system checked and repaired. Pricing is reasonable. Strongly recommend!

Jorge was great to work with. He was very responsive when we were discussing the project and kept me updated on timing the morning of our appointment. When Jorge arrived, he was right on time, wearing a mask, and very friendly. He talked me through the plan for the project and got the work done quickly and efficiently (and did a great job cleaning up too!). He even noticed another minor issue with the door he was doing work on, and he fixed that without any extra charge. I thought the price was fair for the project as well. I certainly intend to use Jorge again as projects pop up around the house.

Jorge was able to come see us quickly to fix some squeaky floors in the upstairs apartment that were driving us nuts down here. He was thorough, patient and friendly, and we'll definitely be using him again next time we need some work done. Thank you Jorge!

We didn't even negotiate a price (he did good work for us previously) we took his price and decided to go with him. Gave him a check up front $900 9/7/2918. For him to start the project on 9/14/2018. He came did half the job cashed the check and HAS NOT RETURNED!

No phone call, not returning emails NOTHING!

Jorge I know you will see this. Have no idea how you sleep at night. We trusted you to come in our house and support you and your new family with giving you our business.

If you needed the money and more time you could call were reasonable. To take our money and disappear is ridiculous!

We were having problems with our hot water and it turned out the fire in our hot water heater had gone out. It was late Sunday night, and the heater supplied all the tenants in my building. After initial contact I found out that Jorge was in the area. He was able to come to my home in just 15 minutes, showed me how to restart the pilot light and everything was working again in just 10 minutes. Very courteous and knowledgeable. If you need a handy man, give Jorge a call!

Jorge is great!  I had two kitchens that needed their cabinets sealed (caulked, moulding) to keep vermin out.  I used yelp to collect a few quotes.  Jorge was the most reasonably priced and he was an absolute pleasure to correspond with.  He is prompt, up-front, responsive, professional, and meticulous.  I'm very happy with the job he did and he's first on my list if I never need any more minor home repairs.  Selfishly, I almost didn't want to write this review because I don't want him to become *too* overbooked when I need his services again, but seriously, Jorge is your guy for random house stuff!

FIVE STAR SERVICE! Do not hesitate hiring this man. Jorge was prompt, very neat in his work, and went over and above what we asked for. He asked him to hang two large TVs and a soundbar. My wife came in the room and wanted a slight adjustment. Without hesitation, Jorge made it. He even snaked our wires through the wall. Aside from doing great work, he was incredibly friendly and funny. He also cleaned up and kept a tidy work area.

Long story short, I had the same experience like a few others on here, Jorge disappeared and never completed a job I hired and PAID him for. Do yourself a favor and find another handyman, preferably one that's reliable and responsive.

READ ALL REVIEWS especially the negative ones. Had I known his disappearance from jobs was a PATTERN, I would have went with someone else.

I got two estimates over 50% of what JM ended up charging, super honest, fast, cool, great job.

My wife and I just moved into a fixer upper and barely knew how to change a light bulb let alone add crown molding or mount a TV.  I randomly found JM General Repairs on Yelp and I was extremely happy with everything about them.  
The main handyman, Jorge, was really easy to get in contact with and very reasonable.  It was obvious that we didn't know much about construction, electric, sheetrock, etc.  so he explained everything to my wife and I before purchasing materials or cutting holes in the walls.  When he inevitably found problems in the walls since we purchased an older house-he explained what he was doing and made it easy to understand. They quickly installed our 50 inch TV and hid ALL of the wires AND cable box which was his idea since he's a perfectionist lol.   The TV /mount is so sturdy I'm pretty sure If our house was knocked over...it would be the only thing still standing.  

Highly recommend JM General Repairs.

So this is the 2nd time I have used Jorge services. He is friendly and accommodating . He even did on the fly work for me during my appointment. Also, he came earlier because he knew I did the overnight so I could get to sleep sooner! His prices are reasonable and he took proper Covid precautions! Will use again as my go to handyman!!!!

I want to give Five stars MORE if i can. First of all, I really needed to help very urgently. Actually i called another guy for the first time to assemble and install for my new IKEA kitchen wall cabinets. They didn't know how to do job. I wasted whole my day and money. But i had to finish up today so i have massaged to him around 7pm. and he got my home around 8pm. Isn't it amazing ? In Newyork city for real? And he is also very professional. He knows exactly how to deal with this stuff like structure of furniture and care very precisely . also very kind and friendly. He nicely done just for 2 hours. I will definitely call him later if i need a help. Thank you Jorge !!!

I am very sad writing this poor review for Jorge who I thought would become a new resource for general handyman things around my home. I found Jorge on Yelp with his outstanding reviews and just knew my experience would be similar.

Jorge responded quickly and followed up to fix my running toilet the same day.  He purchased the tool kit needed and took about 20 minutes to fix the issue. He was pleasant and honest enough to inform me I needed another piece to deter my toilet from breaking down sooner and he would return the following day to complete the job. I made the big mistake of paying Jorge in full for his labor because he never returned. We communicated back and forth via text and he stood me up twice with days he was supposed to show and never did. (I have the saved texts) I was VERY flexible with Jorge since he informed he was working in my neighborhood and actually could walk home from my apt. I thought he would make arrangements to finish the last bit of work but to my dismay he never did. I was the one always contacting him to complete the work and for this unprofessional behavior he gets 2 stars.

Shame on you Jorge for your unprofessionalism and incomplete work when you were paid in full. Shame on me for paying you in full when you didn't complete the work, lesson learned.   Clearly by all of the other reviews, Jorge does great work. However, for any company or services that you pay for you expect a sense of integrity and reliable services and Jorge missed the mark with these characteristics.

Jorge did a great job installing my in-ground mailbox and he did it in 37 degree weather.  The man is a champion and I plan on calling him for all of the things I don't know how to do.  Highly recommended.

I came home one evening from work only to find my two lovely cats had brought down the curtains n the curtain rod was hanging half way. I live on the 1st floor so it was extremely important to have someone fix it asap. After searching for a handy man on Yelp I sent a request for a quote quite late at night but Jorge responded quickly with a fair price and came in the next morning and fixed it within minutes. He is very organized, professional and reasonably priced. (There were companies that wanted to charge me between $100-130) I would definitely recommend Jorge and will be hiring him again!!

I got an estimate from Jorge for some basement work in early April based on his good reviews. He seemed like a nice guy, explained everything and we signed the contract. Estimated time of completion = 2 weeks. I paid him the first installment and he started right away. He worked consistently for a few days. But then the absences began - he kept me apprised at first but then he just wouldn't show up for days.

It has been more than 3 months and he's still not completed the basement. I've given him a $1000 advance for another project and he has not shown up for work since. He also has $500 worth of my stuff from Ikea that he picked up but never delivered.

To be fair, he did mention that he had a personal task to attend to but that was in late June and I've not heard from him since. The most frustrating part is not responding to calls and messages (I have all logs). I've explained to him several times the urgency of finishing this work but he seems to have ignored it so far. Very unprofessional!!

Jorge was amazing!!! We hired him to level the paving stones in our backyard. When we moved in the yard was over grown and tree roots had pushed up most of the stones making it impossible to use most of the yard. Jorge came in, turned up all the stones, took out all the tree roots, and even went to Home Depot for us to buy the extra dirt needed to fill everything in. In a day and a half we had a beautiful yard perfect for entertaining that we've been using for parties all summer long. We could never have done it ourselves. He was so fast and efficient. He knew exactly what needed to be done, and he was so nice and fun to talk to the whole time, too. The next time we have a project we will definitely be calling him. Thank you, Jorge!!!

Jorge Masquera, we thought we were getting a handyman who was experienced in flooring. He was constantly late to the site, poor communication, and  within the first year the flooring was having severe gaps. So much so the floor will literally slide around now because of being improperly installed and measured.

Wasted money, wasted time. I now have to hire another company to fix his mistakes. Please do yourself a favor and go with someone else.
