My friends in Elk Grove wanted to get my opinion on an installation quote your company provided Mr. Vican. I am an active hvac contractor in Modesto Ca. I've been in the trade since I was 20. I'm 66 now! My friends trusted my opinion so this is what I told them about your quote. I said Huft is selling good equipment . Hard to stop at Trane I looked everything over and would have to say your quote is a good value! I told Paul that you were obviously committed to giving your customers their money's worth. My friends  mentioned that prior to quoting the equipment replacement your team had done a repair to get them through the hot spell until you were able to schedule the installation. Excellent service! Also you offered a contract adjustment on the new installation to cover the repair cost. Excellent service! As long as the workmanship is solid and good quality I would have to say you guys are GOOD! From one expert to another Bravo!

We had our lower level AC/furnace and water heater replaced, in addition to asbestos lined ducts removed. The initial quote process with Glenn was thorough and educational, he was very responsive throughout the process. We also had a great experience with the entire install team, they were very knowledgeable, fast, courteous, and clean. The install team has the most interaction with the customers. Ray, Quentin, Reggie, and Alex are great representatives of Huft and make it easy to recommend the company to others.

As others have stated, Huft's customer service has really declined recently. I've used them before for other properties of mine (repairs + annual service) so I was shocked to have been taken advantage of during last week's heat wave. The service member knew I was dealing with a distressed situation and saw money signs. He ended up over charging me for refrigerant and attempted to pressure me into buying a new system. I have never experienced this in the past. Very disappointed to see this company behave like this as they were so good to me in the past.

Do not use this company. They are untrustworthy. They do not keep appointments. Their technicians are aggressive and are usually unable to fix what is wrong with your system.  They make a terrible mess in your home. Do not use this suspicious company.

I have been thoroughly satisfied with the service technicians and customer service offered by Huft Heating an Air Conditioning over the six years they've serviced my system. When Matt, Christopher, Steve, Jim, or James come to my home, I am confident that any heating or air problem I may have will be resolved,  confident that my system is getting the best care to extend its functionality, and that all will be explained clearly thereafter. I fully recommend getting a service package which includes a winter and summer visit from Huft Heating and Air Conditioning. They are indeed Huft Heroes!

We're in the club and get both a summer and winter tune up for $139.  Recently, their serviceman named Patrick came for our winter tune-up.  Very friendly, he spent a lot of time explaining what was needed for repairs beyond the tune-up and helped us prioritize so that we only did one repair, a new capacitor.  He also explained what to expect in the future: our system is 13 years old. Very friendly and reliable.

In my opinion, Huft Heating and Air-Conditioning, Inc. is not an honest company, and I believe I am being scammed!

Please read my first negative review ever and feel free to comment or ask questions!  I have lived in my current home over 15 years.  After the 14th year, I purchased a new Rheem (supposedly a good and reputable company) air-conditioner the winter of 2014 from Huft (as I had also read their good reviews on Yelp). I paid about $5,400 with some extras thrown in from their sales rep Ryan who was great. The first year, service was free, the second and now the third year I purchased their annual service plan.  My new air-conditioner has performed great through two summers which I fully expected it would.  Huft service reps are quite courteous although I've not appreciated the hard sell of their other products (like an enhanced filtration system) at the end of every service call.  I realize it's a part of the way Huft trains their people and I've overlooked it.

However, yesterday, March 10, 2017, I had my regular annual service of my still new Rheem air-conditioner.  The service rep came about 9:20am and spent two hours testing the outside A/C unit and the other A/C parts located in the attic.  Finally at 11:30am after writing his report in his truck, he handed it to me.  He said the refrigerant was leaking out of the A/C unit and that the evaporator coil (in the attic) was cracked!  He said Rheem changed their design and the coils have been failing (a factory defect).  He handed me the quote and while the coil is under warranty and will be replaced by Rheem, Huft's labor cost is over $2,000 to replace the coil!

Something feels very wrong here!  If a factory defective evaporator coil fails after only two summers why would I, the consumer, have to pay $2,000+ in labor costs (or any labor cost) to have it replaced?  If Huft knew about the coils being defective why sell me this unit?  Rheem warranties these coils for only five years (part only).  When my car has a factory defect, the car manufacturer issues a recall and the part and labor to replace the part is free! Why is this type of situation any different?    

Someone needs to do the right thing here as the consumer is not being treated fairly in my opinion.  Either Rheem needs to also warranty the labor on the replacement of the (apparently common) factory defective evaporator coil or Huft needs to do so as part of their apparently good customer service reputation.

Otherwise, where does this type of thing end?  There could be endless factory defective parts that Huft finds during the two hour annual inspection and then charges exorbitant labor costs to the honest consumer!  I am going to get a second opinion and hopefully a lower quote.  I am also going to talk to a Rheem representative to see if they believe this evaporator coil would have cracked under only two years of normal use.

Update to my review. I did get a second opinion about the refrigerant and coil from another local heating and air company that I do trust and that sold me my furnace several years ago. I asked them to do a check of my A/C system and didn't mention anything about what the Huft serviceman said. Nothing was wrong with my refrigerant or coil. It is now July 2018 and my A/C has been working fine for two summers since Huft attempted to sell me a $2,000 job that was unnecessary. In my opinion, steer clear of Huft Heating and Air. And I was also told annual service calls to check the A/C and Furnace are generally unnecessary!

HUFT will do what's needed to get a system to work right and accurately; they will not give up nor charge you for their extra work.   They are as fair as you can get and have really reasonable prices.  Owning a duplex required 2 furnaces and 2 AC units.  They were quick to put them in and cart the old units away; I was impressed how professional they were.  Their units are modern, quality-built, and up-to-date.  I spend all day in my house and have never been so comfortable!  I don't ever have to get up to adjust the thermostat, it's that good!  The owner, Brian Huft,  is certainly a good guy and stands behind his equipment and his work.  I definitely recommend HUFT.

Installation went well but didn't get approval for the permit by sac county. Called every two weeks to follow up on the permit. Manager was going to talk to the county and get back to me but never gave me a call back for update. Installed in January and now it's May, still no permit. In order for me to apply for SMUD $500 rebate program I needed the permit but now it's expired. A bit frustrating trying to get update when they kept telling me they will let the manager know and call me back. Still waiting on update on my permit.

They installed a faulty coil, which cost quite a bit to replace. Less than 5 years old and the system failed. The warranty should have been active and they claimed it was not. I asked for further documentation to bring this to court and they lied and said they would send it to me. Abysmal service.

We received such outstanding service! It is so refreshing to receive such wonderful customer service. They showed up within an hour or two of us calling with issues on our AC unit and then fixed it the next morning. We went without our AC for less than 24 hours due to their fast response time. Our technician wore a mask the whole time, very respectful of our house and explained everything thoroughly. We will definitely be using their services again.

After receiving a quote from 2 techs for repairs, accepting  the next day, waiting over a week without hearing anything and calling i was told a manager needed to come out and reinspect before scheduling the work. Manager came out and  after inspection told me they needed to drop some of the work.  He said the guy who quoted was not as experienced as needed to provide the quote for repairs i needed so he had to take a look and confirm what could really be done. This was the manager mind you.  I accepted and was told someone would be calling the next week.  6 weeks later, after many calls into the company and being told my posts just hadn't arrived... they finally scheduled the work for a Friday morning.  The guys came out and about a half hour after being in my attic told me they couldn't do the work because the quote for repairs was wrong and I needed to do something different (with different parts). I was beside myself.  After having not one but two inspections from staff (including the manager) i couldn't understand why the work repairs were wrong. I asked them to have that same manager call me ASAP. This was a week ago and I still haven't heard back.  I really hope they don't do this to other customers.

We had an excellent experience with Huft home services. Brian helped us to set up the appointment. He answered questions and responded quickly to Yelp messages. Our technician, Chris, was very knowledgeable. He listened to everything we had to say and went above and beyond. He was punctual, thorough and explained everything. We will definitely be using Huft again!

Met with Matt from Huft to go over my issues with my upstairs cooling. He seemed very knowledgeable and went over all of my options with me. I decided to go ahead and have them do a dual-zone modification to my air-conditioning system. I think they are pretty busy so scheduling took a few weeks but we got it done. The installers were very courteous and friendly. They answered of my questions that I had during the installation and did a good job of cleaning up when they finished. I would highly recommend Huft if you have any heating or cooling needs.

Our appointment to get an estimate was between 12 and 4 and I got no call, no notice that he was running late and he shows up at 5. I guess they didn't want the business. I have another company coming by tomorrow.

Huft's customer service has declined noticeably, likely due to their focus on growing their service area and the breadth of services offered.  

Repeated assurances that somebody from their office would be following up via email or phone to explain the charges to my account have resulted in no follow up on their end.  They answer the phone with How can I make you smile?  Following up as promised would be a start.  

Also, if you would like your service tech to follow COVID precautions and honor your request to wear a mask--good luck with that.   Don't be surprised if the request is ignored, even if you make the request both when making and confirming the appointment and you are promised that there will be no problem in accommodating this request.  (That is until the tech arrives sans mask.)  There is both a CVS and Walgreens across the street where they could have purchased a mask if they were out as they claimed.  If not that, they could have offered an option to reschedule.  Their office was also non-responsive to this matter when  reported to them in writing.

Overall, extremely disappointing that service has deteriorated and they no longer feel follow-up is necessary.

Too bad I can't rate six stars!

My wife and I decided to call Huft after we got a mailer for a discounted tune-up that indicated that their owner was a Comfort Wizard. We weren't sure if it was intended to be funny, but we thought it was, and decided to give them a call to see if they could check out a leak in our AC unit.

From the get-go, the service was good; despite the flier being for a tune-up, they extended that discounted price for a diagnostic to check out the problem. According to my wife the receptionist was very friendly, and answered with how can we make you happy today?

When Lanny, the repairman, came out, he was 5 minutes early, and was waiting in his car for 3:45 (our appt. time) to roll around so as not to bother us until I went out and told him he could come in if he was ready. He was extremely knowledgeable, extremely friendly, and went through the ins and outs of our 25 year old AC unit to find the problem. He didn't try to upsell us any services we didn't need, and went above and beyond to help us correct the problem, and didn't even charge us on top of the discounted diagnostic fee to help clear the drain.

They've gained a customer for life- I'm sure our crappy AC have other problems in however many more years it lasts, and we'll definitely be calling them. I've had 3 other AC repairmen out to the house last summer (all to try and figure out one easy problem, which turned out to be the breaker) and never got service like this. I'll also be reccommending him and his company to anyone who ever asks me about a good AC repair company. Great work guys.

Absolutely amazing customer service! Our unit was installed by the builder and had nothing but problems getting their contractor out to diagnose and fix the problem. We decided to go out on our own dime and hired Huft. We couldn't have made a better decision! Trevor came to our home and did a thorough inspection, top to bottom. He was able to explain to us all the issues with the system and made us feel comfortable with the decision to correct repairs. In the future, we will only deal with Huft.

Just called to find out how much they would charge per pound of R410-a refrigerant. I already know this is what my AC needs; I don't need a diagnosis. I spoke with Kailani who said they don't give quotes over the phone. So I ask, am I then expected to pay a diagnostic fee to have someone come to my door and tell me in person how much you charge for refrigerant? She says yes. I'll need to pay a $79 diagnostic fee which will be applied towards my purchase if I decide to go with their company. So, you're telling me if you charge a ridiculous price per pound and I am obviously better off going with a transparent and honest company, I just paid $79 for an in person quote for refrigerant. No thanks, I'll pass.

Another Huft Home review: We had an extensive heating repair, and Huft was fantastic again! During the entire experience, Huft was informative, full-disclosure, and I believe honest. That's a tough quality to find in the service industry, and it needs to be recognized. Elijah, Evan and Trevor have all been great to work with. We've had Huft in our home 3-4 times now, and I can tell you, they can depended upon to recommend needed work, give an honest opinion on the necessity, and then complete the work with the highest level of professionalism. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

We recently had Huft come out to our home to fix our AC unit. A gentlemen came out and pointed out all our options without trying to sell us something we did not need. The technician soon came out who we later found out is the owners son and fixed our issue. Our AC has never worked so well since we bought the home. From the front desk, to the sales/inspector, to the 2 technicians we worked with Huft employees treated us very well and provided overall great service. Paperwork was easy, staff are extremely friendly and personable, and they fixed my AC for a great cost! Highly recommend this family owner business

Experience from my annual a/c tune-up:

I explained to the technician, Typhan, what issues I had been dealing with on my aging system and what had been suggested from my last Huft tune-up.  So that I could get a better feel for how my system was doing, I asked Typhan if he minded me shadowing him so I could see first hand how things were looking.  He was happy to accommodate my request and I was very happy for all the information he shared.  For example, he showed me the best way to use a hose nozzle to clean out the condenser coils and mentioned what to avoid so the fins wouldn't be damaged.  Earlier in the visit, as Typhan and I crouched in my 100+ degree attic he checked the blower capacitor, blower fan, and other items while giving me some easy DIY tips like sealing some small holes on the blower case which were letting in hot air and dust.  

While outside looking at the condenser unit I mentioned that I'd been having trouble with the capacitors wearing out quickly.  Typhan tested the caps and even showed me how the hard start kit I installed last summer was helping to keep the starting amps on the compressor about half of what they were without it connected.  He told me about Evergreen fan motors that would completely eliminate the issue I was having  with changing the capacitors almost every year or two.  At the end of the visit, Typhan included a cost estimate for installing Evergreen motors on the the blower and condenser units but at no moment did I feel I was being pressured into upgrading my system's components which I really appreciate.

I compared the summary paper that was provided to me at the end of the visit with the one from last year so I could see how things had changed as well as where attention is needed.  The tech from last year, Ritchie, did a fantastic job as well and comparing the two summaries I could see that both technician's analysis was consistent.  Typhan filled out the form very thoroughly and nearly every spot to input a measurement or checkbox was completed.  I'm a detail oriented person and I appreciate this.  The technician provided honest feedback on preventative maintenance, spoke to me about emerging technology in new systems, and system upgrades like a flood switch or surge protector.  I liked that Typhan was patient with my questions and although my questions were slowing him down he did not ever act as though he was in a rush to get to his next appointment.  He made me feel like helping my family was his only and most important job of the day!  Typhan was friendly and respectful of my home leaving things undisturbed when he was done working as if he was never even there.  He must have went through a dozen pairs of boot covers with as many times as we were in and out of my house. :)

Overall, I'm giving Typhan a lot of praise but he truly was spectacular.  While I've consistently experienced good technicians from Huft in the past this was probably one of the top.  Although I've been a Huft customer for many years, I finally joined the Super Sidekicks Club and experiences like this leave me with no doubt that I made the right call!

Thank goodness Huff if open on Sundays!  I was home sick & then the AC dies. Turns out the capacitor was dead & replaced & had Matt B. add a hard start kit to help with the units start up. I used the Yelp coupon (cost $40 for $79). Our unit is headed for being 13yrs old & it's time to think about replacing before it totally craps out. The newer units are way more efficient. So, that being said...Anatolia residents, all our units are getting old...be prepared.

I pay for a yearly fee for HVAC and AC maintenance with HUFT. I am always pleasantly surprised when they call me at the right time of year to perform the maintenance.   Ryan came today to do AC unit.   Was professional, on time, efficient and more than once asked if there was anything more he could do.  He explained how AC works and helped me with understanding how best to use my thermostat.   Thank you Ryan.   Highly recommend this company.

I have been trying to get an A/C technician since May.  They pushed out until June with no notification.  Then we called in after the appointment was missed to be told someone would come out the following Monday.  Come Monday still no call and no show.  I called again to see what happened and they claimed again they called and couldn't reach me which is incorrect.  This was the second time this excuse was given.  I had no missed calls or texts.  I understand this is the busy season, but customer service she still be a priority especially if you can't make the scheduled appointment.  It's unfortunate since there were great reviews, but I will have to try and go with another company that is reliable to their appointment standards.

Once again they took care of my plumbing issue and were super reasonable!  Called Friday morning to see if they might have time to come out over the weekend and they ended up coming out Friday evening!  It turned out to be a minor problem and easy fix = just the service charge.  They've never tried to take advantage of me or sell me anything I don't need.

Made appointment with huft home services. They are a week out with there bookings and 1-3 block they would be here on our appointment date.
The day of service 330 and no call from them, nothing! We gave them a call, they said they were behind an would be arriving soon!? They just never showed up at all and no phone call!?
But many options out there! I made a call to my regular heating service, which l should have done from the start and they would be here the  next day.

However, l did speak management regarding this review and he was VERY understanding and accommodating and caring about the missed service. l will definitely give them a shot should l ever want to try and go out of my regular services again.

I've been with Huft Heating/Air for over 14 years. My Central Air/Heat bite the big one and I now need to replace it. And Huft is coming to the rescue. The last few days they have been very accommodating with trying to keep us comfortable until they are able to replace my unit. They hire only the best to represent their company. And Ryan Mack, is top notch, just a wonderful example of their family of professionals. All are very honest, respectful and very kind!

We originally called Huft for a HVAC check and got that scheduled for tomorrow.

When we discovered we had a leak in our shower.    I used Yelp to request quotes (great feature; would be better if they allowed video) from Plumbing companies.  And that's when I discovered that Huft does plumbing. They quickly responded and got us on the scheduled.

Daniel (Kiwi) quickly diagnosed the issue and had the part on the truck.  1, 2, 3 and all is well.  Very happy with the service and the respect they showed my wife and following COVID-19 precautions. And the price -within reason.

Can't wait to see how the Huft HVAC staff do tomorrow.  I may be updating this review.

Ok this will sound dishonest but I got their services from smud to do some upgrades in my home salesperson offer me what I want to do for my home and promise me an installation but I made a mistake and didn't check the contract in detail,  when time to make the job the promise did not happen and they did not give me a solution at all to at least to fix their salesman promise. I am really mad and disappointed to waste so much money and didn't get the job that I wanted and did took 2 month to finish.
 So just want to give and advice about this company hire  a different one before you get a headach.

I wish I would of found this business sooner. I needed my plugged bathroom sink fixed, they came out at appt. Time and didn't try to upset me. It was a clogged drain,  not that the sink was installed wrong as someone else told me. They came back the next day because my microwave wouldn't work, it shorted out, it wasn't my fuse box. I appreciate honesty and fare pricing. Thank you.

Just had a plumbing visit from Octavio Rodriguez & Manuel to look at our 3 running toilets. Huft sent a text with name & background of plumber coming out, Octavio called to give a heads up of when they would arrive within the 2 hour window, they arrived on time with masks & shoe covers. They diagnosed the toilets, which was more than we had to spend, Octavio advised how we could stay within budget, great. After the repair the toilets still leaked/ran and he advised he discovered another part that was needed but if he couldn't find the part the toilets might need to be rebuilt at $400 eachNeedless to say we would have got a 2nd opinion at that point. He was able to find the parts, install them for no extra charge with the entire visit (including getting the additional parts) was under 2.5 hours and within budget. We are HAPPY with Huft and recommend them.

Although I booked an appointment for a tune up and they were a month out, they did a fantastic job!. During COVID, Matt was very professional in wearing a mask and using safety precautions. We were so pleased with their service he hired them to come back and install a whole house fan which we love. Live that they didn't try to up sell me and were honest.

For heater iefficiency issue at our home, their service person came spent a couple of hours for a paid investigation, and offered an elaborated solution with several thousand dollars. It was insightful investigation about the hvac system structure. However, another company came later found that replacing room air filters solved/worked around the issue with very low expense and labor. While the structural flaw might still remain as the Huft suggested, I just wish the service person at least check the room filters (him having not done so just stirs bad guess to us, like he was trying to sell and/or he may have not been skilled enough to miss the simplest thing).

For that reason unfortunately I give 2 star.

Called based on yelp reviews hoping for the best ... I thought it would be more money based on the info I was given by pg&e, but when Huft arrived and soon after was finished, my tankless water heater just needed a deep cleaning. Thank you Huft for being quick and informative and getting the job done right ! Great customer service !

From Brian on down to EVERY tech I have had the pleasure of working with I am a life long customer and would recommend them by far over anyone else! They are an honest company that goes above and beyond to make sure they are offering the best service possible. We got several estimates to replace our ac and furnace units. What a nightmare. ALL of them were incompetent/lying/incomplete/flaky/etc EXCEPT for Huft. Their estimate was very thorough and accurate. They brought their own ladder, drop cloth, shoe covers, etc. and were the only company that went completely into the attic and surveyed every room vent. We were told the exact size unit we needed (not the same size is fine or hey you can go bigger if you want like from the other estimates) and given clear options on different units types. The price came in the middle of all the estimates for a superior unit and we felt it was very fair. When the install was done the installers were professional, nice, clean, and thorough. We are very happy with how it all went from start to finish!  After all the companies we dealt with they are the only company we'd recommend.

Just had a whole house fan, new heater, and new ac unit installed yesterday. The estimate was great...they really went over all my options. I decided to upgrade my existing system a little bit based on the style of my home and it's vaulted ceilings.  I decided to wait on the ducting for another year or so, but moved forward with the appliances. There wasn't a problem breaking the project down over a few years.

The crew was friendly, professional, and efficient. They were good natured in their humor, easy to chat with, and took time to answer any questions I had. After the install, they explained the set up for each component and walked me through the controls. They even explained to me what I was looking at while I poked around the attic examining the changes.  The majority of the work was done in a single day, except for a little drywall finishing around the new house fan. On a side note, the heater is SO quiet! I barely notice it's running when I'm in the garage.

I had two other companies come out over the last couple of years before I decided on this one. One company didn't offer a maintenance plan and just wanted to sell the new system to me before I was ready. The other insisted I'd need more work than I could afford using scare tactics like the ducting will disintegrate if we touch it. Huft Heating and Air didn't do that, worked with me, and talked about permits, inspecting/testing, etc. It was exactly what a cautious homeowner wants to hear!

Huft Heating & Air Conditioning is truly a first class experiance. I worked directly with their General Manager to remove my old rooftop package unit and replace it with a best in class Lennox split heat pump system. Huft was committed to completing the job in a timely manner and staffed a three man crew to get the work done in less than a day and a half. Not only did they send three installation technicians out, Brian Huft, the owner, also came out and worked with his crew on my project. The jobsite was left clean, the crew  was polite and most importantly I have a new system that is twice as Efficient as my old one and I can barely hear it running. If you are considering replacing your HVAC large or small, Huft will be your Hero!

2 stars for answering the phone on a Sunday.  My AC broke so I called in on a Sunday and they said they would call me back first thing Monday morning to schedule service.  I never got a call back.  I also went to their website to submit a service request Monday morning just in case they forgot to call back.  Around noon, I had to call someone else.  Sierra Pacific Heating and Air answered immediately and had someone out within 2hrs.  It's now Tuesday and Huft still has not returned my call.

We just had our heater, a/c, duct work and insulation done by Huft. Everything went extremely well and the customer service was excellent! They said they stand by everything they do and this promise was met. Our house easily passed the city inspection which took a whole 5 minutes and that is thanks to Huft! I also liked Huft's proposal with four options (based on what we desired) and the brand used - our other two proposals did not meet our needs.
By the way, a big shout out to Christopher who helped us all along the way - we had to split our insulation due to a roofing change so we ended up working with Huft over a month's time to accommodate the roofing schedule. It was seamless the entire way.

Piss poor job and still trying to finish the job 6 months later. Most of the employees seem like good people but not all of them know what they are doing as they are learning on the job. We had them install a mini-split a/c last year in December and they never finished the job so now we have water damage in the wall and in the floor due to the drain tube not correctly installed. They had 5 different crews over here trying to take that unit off the wall from January to March and all of them failed. I even had to loan them my Dremel after they damaged my wall paneling with their tools. To this day, 6/5/21 we are still waiting for the job to be completed. Yet here I am, stuck with thousands of dollars in damage, suffering in the heat and yes they were paid in full in December even though the job was done. Does anybody know a lawyer?

We had our heater go out a few months ago so we called Huft. Our salesman Fidel was very professional, made sure to take pictures of everything and explain the issues to us. We ended up opting for a new system and Fidel was careful to ensure that we didn't get more system than we needed for our house so that we got the best deal. The quote process was very transparent and he was very helpful with the financing options. Once the crew showed up to install the new system they were also extremely professional, worked efficiently, had no apparent weak link type employees and were respectful and quiet as could be. They left the house clean and resolved an issue where the sales order was missing some necessary hardware on the same day the issue was discovered. After a few months I would say my family is happy with the HVAC system and with the people who represent the company. If we ever have to get a new system we'll definitely use Huft.

The Yelp special caught my attention, but the professional and friendly service will keep me returning. Our HVAC unit needed some TLC and Huft was able to send someone out the next day. Lanny was very professional and explained everything he saw and was doing.

I needed an electrician for a small project. A Technician by the name of Anthony Francisco showed up and from start to finish hit a home run!! He was clean cut, very customer service oriented, extremely knowledgeable, very detail oriented, personable and I could go on and on. Because of this gentleman this company has a customer for life. Huft Heating and Air is one of the most responsive service companies I have ever encountered.  They installed a new heating and air conditioning system in August of 2009.  Their prices were in-line with all of the bids we got so we decided to stay local and go with them.  During this past 4th of July weekend we had a problem with our air conditioning stopping because of a blown fuse.  They came out 3 different times during the weekend including on the 4th of July to do a temporary fix until they could completely resolve  the problem.  The problem happened yesterday also (on the 5th) and the technician took the time to troubleshoot all of the potential causes and believes he may have found the part that was creating the short. The part is being ordered and I am absolutely confident they will take care of it as soon as they can.  Their slogan is beyond pros - they are heroes and I very much agree!

Called Huft to take a look at AC that stopped working. I got quotes from other companies, but wanted another opinion / pricing. Since they originally installed the system for the previous owner, I figured it would be a good idea to contact them .. the appointment setup process was quick and easy. Called on Friday, they got someone out the following Monday even though it was a holiday, so one star for that. The system was diagnosed to need a motor, which I already knew, however, when I even slightly mentioned a couple questions about pricing on a new system, all of a sudden, that was all the tech cared about was focus on selling a new system. Gave me options of systems at $16K - $17K.

Their pricing was also much higher than what other companies quoted on the motor, not even close. And they warranty for way less time than other companies.

Waste of a couple hours and $79 fee .. will not be using Huft for this or any other services.

Our two year old hot water heater which we bought with our home had an issue we checked several places and no one serviced hot water heaters I called HUFT after my friend in Wilton recommended them.
HUFT was at our house within four hours and Jim our service guy was professional easy to understand and very thoroughly explained his diagnosis.
We decided to have HUFT replace the part they ordered the part and I haven't been without hot water since Jim came and saved us from a lot of headaches

I have reserved my review until we had our new a/c & heating system long enough to have a problem and that just happened.  One thing about this the people at Huft Heating and Air, when I called - they came.  What more can a customer ask!?!?!  They did an excellent job with the install - ONE DAY!!  There were issues but I kept my cool and they fixed every issue they had.  And ... wait for it ... I GOT THE DEAL OF A LIFETIME!!!  These guys do what they say.  Nice people too!!!  Thanks Matt Bridges for being good at what you do!!!

After 22 years, my air conditioning system had seen its better days. During summer months, it ran all day to keep my house cool. I received estimates from a few companies and My neighbor recommended Huft Heating and Air. I contacted Huft Heating and Air. Christopher came to my house and provided me with estimates on three different heating and air options. I felt very comfortable and didn't feel pressured with a sells Pitch.  The prices were very competitive and the rebates made it a great deal. February is a slow month and they were able to come out the next day to install our new system. The installers Ton and Chris showed up promptly and ready to go. They had our system replaced and up and running in 6 hours. They were professional and worked hard to complete our installation. Both took the time to answer our questions and met all of our needs. I am glad I went with Huft for our heating and air conditioning needs.

This is how much Huft will charge you for AC repair:

1.  $252 to replace your capacitor (which should be a less than 10 min job).  This quote includes the capacitor.
2.  $252 to install a Hard Start Kit (Kit is included).
3.  $69 for diagnosis
4.  $99 for a one year Silver membership (which gives you discounts on repair and a checkup)

I would recommend shop around by calling different places because Huft Heating and Air Conditioning charges are quiet high.

The technician came by and took a look. He has found out that's not something he can really fix and talk to his manager. They have recommended someone eles might able to take care of it and waved the initial $79 charge. Much appreciated the honest recommendation and service. Highly recommend business!

I could not say enough nice things about Huft. They recently upgraded our electrical panel and main bathroom and I couldn't be any happier about the quality work they provided. Everyone was so nice starting with Drew and Mike who came out to help us design these upgrades. They were knowledgeable and not pushy. Next came their install crews who worked in our home with care and cleanliness. Ray, Peter, Luis, Henry  and Leo did AMAZING work. Thank you to Octavio (Plumbing Manager) and Carlos (Electrical Manager) who helped tremendously through out this whole process. I will definitely be recommending them to all our friends and family.

we have used Huft in the past and they did excellent work on our old wall unit heater, they fixed it. we called for an estimate on an AC they took pictures said they would get back to me with an estimate after they talk to the manager,  we called back after a week of no response , they said they would let the tech know to call me back with the estimate. We purchased an HVAC system from Trevor who came to our home who not only explained the systems but educated us on the pros and cons of the various HVAC systems. Trevor was very personable and listened intently to our concerns and wants. He made the process easy for us to make an educated choice. We intended on only purchasing a heating system but decided to include AC after speaking to Trevor.

Trevor did not try to upsell us or pressure sales us into anything. We fully trusted him and decided to go with Huft after interviewing other companies because we feel it was not only the price but the integrity and trust of the company as represented by Trevor. Very happy with the service.

They responded to my email very quickly and scheduled a technician to come over within about an hour.

He was able to identify and fix the problem very quickly.  He checked to ensure the heater was working before he left. He also checked the other heater in the house.

Everyone was very professional and easy to work with.

They were able to come out pretty quickly to fix our a/c even during the heat of the summer. Chuc was here within the scheduled window. He was able to quickly diagnose the problem (the a/c would turn on but not blow cold air-- I believe it he said that some fuses had melted). I was informed of the cost of repair, I agreed, he repaired right then.

He made some suggestions with a few options to get some surge protectors-- we haven't done yet, though, we probably should-- and emailed me the price options. He wasn't too pushy about it, which is good.

This is the first home we've owned, and haven't been here very long, so I can't compare the pricing to other experiences, but it seemed relatively fair. All in all, I was very satisfied with the service.

We have had an AMAZING... and I mean AMAZING experience with Huft after some not so wonderful experiences with 3 other local air conditioning companies. We have had an issue since mid March with our 15 year old air conditioning unit. Huft fit us in within 3 days of our phone call in the beginning of peak season for Air Conditioning. Ryan came out and visited with us and let us know all of our options since we knew that we already needed a new system. They gave us a wide range of quotes from what I would call The Beast (The best, biggest, most high efficient) down to comparable to what we already had installed. They were the only company that offered this high range of options to us and then allowed us to decide what would fit into our budget. Ryan was VERY personable, professional and even let us know a few things that he noticed immediately (one of our returns was facing backward). Things that just go above and beyond. Anyway, we got onto the schedule a week out from signing the contract and thank GOODNESS because it is getting hot! The technician Phil and owner, Brian showed up 20 minutes early! That never happens, right?! They got to work right away, used their shoe protectors inside and installed everything very quickly for how much work we were having completed. Brian walked me thru things that they were doing. Their work is impeccable and Brian was here all day assisting his technician install the system! You pay a little more but you are backed by a wonderful company, good work and excellent talented workers! The job they do is so hard and hot, I am so happy we selected Huft for our Heating and Air needs! We are now able to enjoy our cold air this summer instead of sweating it out! When our almost 20 year old a/c unit went kaput, we contacted several local companies.  We chose Huft because their employees were personable and professional, their quote was competetive (and $3000 cheaper than the highest quote we received), and they were able to fit us into their schedule the same week (just in time to beat the predicted 100+ temps expected this weekend!).  Their employees arrived promptly on the appointment day (a little early, even), and worked a long hard day.  They were courteous, professional, and exceedingly warm to my question-laden 4 year old.  Truly, I cannot say a bad thing about our experience with Huft Heating and Air.  They were exceptional!

I am very angered and disgusted with the service we received from Huft this morning.  

Our water heater stopped working a few days ago.  Because we have had our air conditioner and water heater serviced by Huft a minimum of 5 times in the past, my husband called Huft (already programmed in his phone).  We did not get any other quotes because we had faith in this company that we had used many times before. We were quoted $400 to replace the burner and gas valve (as they didn't know which was the problem).  The parts were covered under warranty, so this was labor only.

The parts arrived and we had Huft come back out to complete the work this morning.  My husband was informed that one of the replacement parts was used (had scratches and the letters/numbers were partially rubbed off) and that this may require them to contact the company for a replacement.  

Next thing we know, the parts are installed.  I expressed concern over the already expensive labor and the fact that a faulty part has a high probability of needing to be replaced. My husband discussed this with the technician, who stated the $400 was for the labor only.  If the part fails, then they would have to order another part and Huft would charge us labor again.  Huft, if you knowingly install a faulty part, you should be willing to fix any issues with that faulty part. Otherwise, you should refuse to install the faulty part.  This feels like you are saying, Oh well, we are getting paid.  Whatever else happens is on you.

I want to thank Huft in advance, as we are currently getting our home remodeled and actually were also having drywall replaced while they were here.  We will be replacing our HVAC and duct work and also plan to replace the water heater with a Tankless water heater.  However, this will not be with Huft due to their shady business practices and unwillingness to stand behind their work.  So, I want to thank you for throwing a $20,000+ job and a loyal customer in the trash over $400 and a faulty part.   I also want to thank you for demonstrating how quickly customer service can decline within a few years.

Happy with my experience replacing a very old rooftop package HVAC system with a new Bosch heat pump. Matt B. came by to put together a precise quote for a system that factored in all of our home characteristics, then Ken and his crew came on the scheduled day right on time to get started on the replacement. Everyone involved was very professional and friendly. Since we switched from gas to heat pump we qualify for the SMUD $3000 rebate which they handle the paperwork for. We heard about them from our next-door neighbor who also had a pleasant experience.

Matt came out to repair our air conditioner that  died right in the middle of a heat wave. He was extremely punctual, professional,  even putting on shoe protectors in our home.He diagnosed the problem quickly and fixed it in under 45 minutes at a very reasonable price.  we were very pleased with the result.
We would definitely recommend Huff to fix any of your air conditioning problems and would definitely use them again.

After additional service needs soon after their visit, I would not use Huft.  I was hard sold to purchase a new AC unit. After another AC company came to service, it was a minor issue that cost a few hundred dollars.  Unit fixed and working fabulous

Huft was at my next door neighbors house working on their heating and air unit. I was having some trouble with my hot water heater and went over to see if their technician
could come over and take a look at it. Nathan came over right away and was so nice and helpful he found that my pilot  light was out and lit it for me.

Been doing business with Huft for years at both my personal residence and my rental house.  Great service once again.  The service tech (Larry G.) called to say he was en route and, due to the coronavirus, also asked about whether we were having any symptoms of illness.  We weren't.  He assured us he was fine too but offered to wear a mask if we wanted him to.   Larry showed up on time and was very courteous, friendly, and professional.  He quickly handled the routine A/C tune-up.  He also noted in our records that we had expressed interest a few years ago about a hard-start kit but had not requested installation.  I had inadvertently forgotten about it, so I asked him to go ahead and install the kit.  When it came time to pay, he noticed my military retiree ID card in my wallet and gave us a discount.  Super job once again!

The fan on my air conditioning compressor stopped working. I called Huft to have a tech come out. Huft installed my HVAC system 13 years ago and I have been happy with the company. Jose came out and said I needed a dual capacitor. Once installed the fan started up. I then asked if I could get an estimate for a new system. Jose was very thorough in answering all of my questions and gave me an estimate for a new system.

Responsive, friendly and knowledgeable AC technician. Patient enough to explain everything he did during a service and answered questions thoroughly. My only dislike and why I would not use this business again is because everything is very expensive. Maybe a tad overpriced. I had a service to recharge some r410a refrigerant and place sealant in a fairly new system, only three years old. I received a quote that refrigerant would cost around $470 for up to the first 3 lbs of recharge. My unit only required a little over 1 lb and I still had to shell out the full $470. The sealant itself was also around $400. It was about an hour long service. They also wanted to come back for a leak inspection for an additional $480 after the sealant was installed. I understand the need to be thorough, but wow. If you want great service but with a huge price tag, this is your place.

Every since I switched to them from Bell brothers heating and air conditioning we have been supper pleased. 1st off their techs are really knowledgeable, honest, trust worthy and dependable. For any type of repair they are really competitive on their rates. Also if you have an issue they will try to get you An appointment the same day or by next day. I once had bell brothers AC tell me they couldn't fix my AC for 5 weeks  that's why I switched over.

called when a/c went out. they came on time, told them i had to go to work, my wife would be back in an hour they said they could do the work out said and repair the drain from the attic later in the day after my wife returned. the unite is 13 years old and it is cooler now then it has ever been. the repairman told me that when they build houses now they but the a/c in then build  or close up the inside, and never drain the moisture out of the system and even tho it works it generally is 100%. must be true it gets cold in here now, in two rooms that was always hot. i will recommend huff  Jerry Bieker

The Huft technician came out today and got our system all tuned up for summer. I've been doing business with them consistently since my initial review and couldn't be happier with this company. Every technician that I've met over the years has been professional, efficient and a pleasure to work with, and the office staff are great, too. I highly recommend this company. They really go the extra mile to take care of their customers.

We hired Huft to add electrical and plumbing to our garage for an additional fridge. The plumbing was fine. The electrical was not. Huft drilled a hole in my dining room floor instead of coming up thru the garage by accident. Normally an accident I can forgive but not correcting the accident, that I can NOT forgive. I was told that I would hear from their general contractor named Ramirez within two weeks. I did not. When I asked for this contractors contact information, I was told I could not have it and I would just have to wait. This job was done March 3, 2023. It is now May 23, 2023. The two weeks have evolved into several months and still no call. I would highly recommend NOT using Huft Home Services. They are not a trustworthy company.

I had dealt with Huft a couple of years ago when I owned my house in Elk Grove and when nobody else seemed interested they helped us on the 4th of July when our AC went out.  My wife and I now own a home in Carmichael and were having major issues with airflow, despite the fact that we have brand new heating and air units and brand new ducts.  I initially called JR Putman, you know the company that doesn't pay their associates on commission, and they told me my system was designed completely wrong and wanted to charge me $2000 to fix the system.

This felt wrong as my next door neighbor is a master contractor and is the one who rebuilt our house so I wanted a second opinion and called Huft.  Kay answered the phone and remembered who I was from a couple of years ago and promptly sent Christopher to our home and not only did he tell us that our system was perfectly fine, he found that we already had dampers installed and helped to balance our airflow.  

We went from having three freezing bedrooms and two great rooms that were like ovens to having an even tempered home with adequate airflow to all of our bedrooms.  We were so impressed that we purchased their maintenance package (which includes two tuneups per year and discounts on service) and with the service charge paid only a fraction of the cost that JR Putman quoted us.  

My wife and I couldn't be happier with Huft Heating and Air and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Jet and another Tech, I think his name was Zach came out for an A/C tune-up. Did a through inspection and found refrigerant was low and a couple capacitors were low. Had them refill the refrigerant but I chose to replace the capacitors myself. My condenser disconnect junction box was damaged but functioning, when the tech pulled the fuse it broke completely.  Jet was cool and offered to split the cost 50/50 with me since it was working. Great customer service and didnt try to rake me over the coals. Tech's wore masks and booties also. 10 outta 10 will hire Huft again.

Huft was absolutely amazing here. We'd been dealing with a leaky toilet and whistling shower for several months but finally decided enough was enough. I submitted a request through yelp to get rates from plumbers in my area and was surprised to see Huft had responded.

I knew the name! I'm a (somewhat) loyal RAD maggot so it was an easy decision to go with Huft and I'm glad I did. The representatives that came out needed to take a couple trips to a hardware store to get specific parts to fix the issue but they never once complained about being stuck with us for most of their day. They were very affordable in the end AND our problems have been resolved. We couldn't be happier.

We just had a cut in preformed on our home last week, boy is it life changing. After a thorough research on Yelp and Angies list with 12 other physical estimates, this is the company we proudly chose and highly recommend. Can't say you enough great things about this company. The entire crew and staff are so professional and nice. Ryan was so through and great at listening to our concerns and helping us understand the entire process, options and different systems. He gave us great deal on a Lennox split system, with a 3.5 ton unit @ 95% efficiency also offering to beat any other offer that was comparable. It wasn't just the price that caught us though, is a very honest person and you can see he cares about and believes in the product is he selling. The install crew was efficient and friendly did an install on a very hot day and worked so hard to complete quickly. The process was two days. The system is so quiet and our home is so cool, yet you can't even feel the cool air coming out of the vents, it's amazing. Oh also upon my own research I found  a lending program that was not credit based and used your property value as a basis for loan amount. The loan would then be a supplemental tax to you property taxes with rates less than a HELOC, 2nd , unsecured, or  credit card. Anyway, Ryan actually  went above and beyond, in order for us to use this program (Ygrene) took a class to become an approved certified contractor. We are so grateful for all this company did for us and they really do take customer service and satisfaction to a whole new level.

Three years ago we replaced our 20 year old heating/air conditioning units.  We decided to use Huft Heating and Air Conditioning as they had the lowest bid and appeared to be the most professional.  This has been one of the best choices we have made.  Their customer service is impeccable.   The coils on one of the air conditioning units wasn't working properly.  However, we did not find this out until after the first year.  Bryan returned three times within two years and did not charge us a dime.  More recently, we had a noise on the alternate unit (5 years after purchase) after two days of 100 degree plus weather and looking at 14 more days of high temps.  I called him on a Sunday afternoon.  My call was returned that same day within a couple of hours and he was out servicing the unit the following morning by 8:30 a.m.  Again, this was a manufacturers issue yet Bryan didn't charge us a dime.  If you want someone who is knowledgeable in their field, prompt, professional, honest, and stands behind their work, then I would recommend Huft Heating and Air Conditioning.

I contracted Huft Heating/AC for some major upgrades on a 1955 era rental house that I own. I've hired contractors many times before, but HUFT provided the absolute best service and pricing ever.  They upgraded my Electrical Service Panel from 100 AMP to 200 AMP, replaced the wall heater and wall A/C Unit with a roof mount Central A/C Heat Pump Package.  They installed new attic insulation after the attic duct work tested good.  They installed a new 50 gallon water heater for $1.  Not only that, they pulled in an electric range outlet in my kitchen for optional future use and installed an electric vehicle charging outlet in the garage (this work was required to get the SMUD rebates).  Today I received a rebate check from SMUD for $8500.  By the way, all of the work was done with hardly any impact on the tenants living in the house.  I received some competitive quotes for this job and I am so glad that I went with Huft!  The entire process was extremely efficient and easy; everything was done electronically.  Because of this, I hired HUFT to fix a drainage problem in my garage utility sink (65 year old plumbing).  They tore apart the wall, cut out some cast iron pipes and replaced with modern plastic pipes and a brand new sink.  The sink and washing machine drains like a champ now.

Huft Home Services replaced my original HVAC company when owners Ed and Donna of Comfort Master retired.  Comfort Master had installed my system in 1995 so we had a 25-year personal relationship.  I trust them and their recommendation for their choice in a replacement company.  

When I called Huft in May 2021, I spoke with Elizabeth who was able to confirm and establish the status of my ongoing services (from Comfort Master hardcopy records).  We discussed the 2 different areas of work needed, HVAC REGULAR MAINTENANCE and an urgent plumbing service for a leaking irrigation valve system.  We scheduled the IRRIGATION REPAIR quickly, but I was very disappointed to discover that the repair person was unable to do that work and found out that Huft actually did not work on irrigation.

However, rather than make a complaint, I figured I'd wait to see how the HVAC service went.  That appointment had been scheduled for a couple weeks later.  

Anthony was fantastic.  He called to let me know he was running late from his previous job.  Maybe it was just because I wasn't up on current service practices, but I was highly impressed that he was able to take many photos of my system and his work - and instantly email them and my invoice to me!  He went over in great detail the status of the equipment and anticipation of potential repairs needed over time along with likely cost estimates.  We also discussed possible replacements for when I decided I was ready for a new unit.  I certainly plan to continue my maintenance with Huft, and not just because I'm prepaid for a couple more years of biannual services.  

In November 2021 for my autumn HVAC service, Anthony again did a great job.  Again we discussed potential replacement and he made helpful suggestions including that Huft is currently running a special.  I anticipate having Huft install a replacement system in the near future.  Anthony is a valuable asset to his company.  

Tho yet a relatively new customer, I remain quite satisfied with Huft services.

We have been Huft customers since 2008 and again they came to our rescue. We need all the duct work replaced under our home. The two technicians Ron and Kevin were outstanding. It was a huge and hard job but they were professional and kept of informed of status and updates. We highly recommend Huft Heating and Air Conditioning, we will miss them after our move. When my ac stopped working Saturday night I was miserable. Called my home warranty and finally got approval to find my own service but they'd need to give a diagnosis for approval. My parents had used Huft in the past and they were life savers. They were closed on Sunday but did answer and said they were booked up for emergency service for that day, however I would be added to a waitlist if anyone canceled andante that  worst case they'd be out the following day between 8-10. I also mentioned the home warranty and needing approval and they said, not a problem our technicians are used to the process. No word Sunday, Monday I make arrangements for a family member to meet the tech and no call or technician. My family member called and they said I didn't have an appointment! They booked for the following day. So today I arrange for family to meet with the tech again, he calls and I explained about how I was frustrated about not getting the appointment the previous day but at least they were coming, I explained that I left the home warranty information and that their company said they were used to the process. He stops me and said they have nothing to do with the home warranty and he wouldn't follow that process regardless what the answering service said on Sunday. I still have him come since this is going on day three with no air conditioning. He tried a few things but in the end didn't get it working. He went on and on about how horrible home warranties are but in the end I now have to wait even longer since the repair seems like a larger deal. It's ridiculous as the whole reason I went with this company was because the past great service, trying to stay local and the fact that they said they could handle the home warranty process. Regardless of who you have speaking on behalf of your company you should honor it.  Now I still have no air and can't get anyone else until Saturday.

Horrible horrible horrible service! From start to finish, I'm so unhappy with the way this whole process went. Our AC went out in the middle of summer and we called them out to assess it, we went with the option of buying an entire new AC system and furnace. They told me I wouldn't know an exact install date until we ran our credit, once I ran my credit they tell me it's a 5 week wait until I can get my new system installed. The sales man told me not to worry that they would most likely bump up my lead time. They also said they would accommodate us with a portable AC unit, well neither of these happened.. I reached out to the sales rep multiple times trying to get the install date pushed up or at the very least get a Portable AC unit in the mean time, and Huft could not meet any of these request, it forced me to go spend $600+ on a portable unit to get me through these triple digit heat waves.. the day of my install I find out that I'm getting a basic thermostat and was not offered to upgrade to a smart thermostat when the quotes were given to me.. so now that's another expense I'm going to have to deal with.. not to mention how long the install took and when I go look in my backyard I see one of the technicians just sitting on my bench outside, during their breaks multiple technicians were smoking in my driveway, very unprofessional.. I honestly wish I would have went with another company after going through this nightmare with Huft.. I highly recommend to NOT use this company if this is the type of service to expect after spending nearly 10,000 dollars with them.. I just feel like I was sold a dream, the salesman did a good job getting my business and once I signed it's like I was no longer a priority.

I don't like to write bad reviews but I think this should at least be shared. I had my whole AC unit and heater replaced during the winter and found my experience to be very unpleasant for the amount I paid for. Prior to going with this company, I had other quotes and decided to go with this even though they were slightly higher. I used my property mainly for renting and after having them replaced my unit, it failed to turn on multiple times. Each time it failed, I would call to have someone come and check it out which they were very responsive. The first time the technician came out and realized it would take another day to fix it, I never received a follow up to rescheduled. I called the office but it seem as though I am giving them new information and we're never made aware of the issue. After the technician came again, it failed again after turning my heater on. This went on for about a month after having paid and my renters went without heating which I never got compensated for. I would call again and someone would come out only to assess it but never got a follow up. I called the office but again it seemed they were never made aware of the issue. When they finally had fixed the unit issue, the inspector came and failed the first inspection from the installation. Although the AC/heating unit runs fine now, I don't think I would recommend this place to anyone for the amount that most other competitors would charge.

Bought a NEST and tried to install it myself. First unit was effectively dead on arrival and NEST replaced it. The new unit reported wiring issues the moment it was plugged in. I knew I needed to call a professional. Using NEST's suggestion, and doing some research on my own, I choose Huft. I'm glad I made that choice. They were running a tad behind from a previous job but did call to let me know when to expect the technician. The technician, James, was courteous and pleasant the moment he walked in the door. He predicted it was an issue with the common wire that NEST says is not necessary. After crawling up into our attic, his suspicions were confirmed, it was the common wire. He got everything plugged in, confirmed it was working, and tested all of our registers to ensure that we were getting proper cooling. I appreciated his knowledge and suggestions on some other things that have been troubling me. The service fee was reasonable and the work is guaranteed if we have any further issues. I wouldn't trust anyone else after working with Huft. They'll be getting some repeat business near winter time to inspect the furnace. Thanks for an outstanding job today James.

I want to give a shout out to the plumbing services that Huft provides. I've been a repeat customer of Huft  for over 10 years for my heater & A/C. Bonus that Huft has great plumbers too!

Ray & Peter came today 12/6/2021 and fixed one toilet that hadn't been flushing properly. Very professional & efficient. Ray explained everything to me clearly. Plus they fixed a few other faucets and are coming back tomorrow with a part they had to track down.  Great turn-around time to finish the work within 24 hours.

I appreciate that Huft techs give you a heads up that they're on their way. Plus you see a pic of your  tech beforehand. Also the turnaround is quick on paperwork which is emailed.

Apparently my heater blower motor went out as it's an old system (25+ years). Initially used the chat option to schedule an appointment. They were able to book an appointment right away. Fast forward to today and I was greeted by my HVAC technician Miguel who was very professional and friendly. He was able to diagnose my problem right away. He answered any and all questions I had. He then was able to get/replace the heater blower motor quickly and get our house heater running again. He also did some other inspections and minor cleaning (on the house) and let us know that in the future certain things may have issues but that we're fine for now. Overall, I had a great experience with Miguel and Huft Home Services in general as everything was pretty straight forward with no pressure. I have also signed up for the yearly club membership as it appears to be of great value/deal in making sure our system keeps running for as long as it can. Once again thanks Miguel, I truly appreciate your assistance!

Firstly, Emmanuel arrived and performed an ACSI inspection.  He discovered system was over charged; he made the necessary adjustments and that corrected the problem.  He thoroughly inspected the system and informed me of a temperature variation that needs monitoring.  He cleaned up after himself including getting rid of fingerprints on the attic ceiling entrance.  Secondly, last week Huft installed a whole house fan.  The technicians did a fantastic job as well.  What a great company!  They're not pushy!  They've earned my business for years to come.

These guys are the absolute BEST Heating and Air Conditioning company around!  So there is this huge puddle near the air conditioner condenser in the side yard and I automatically think the a/c is leaking and I'm worried it's going to flood the neighbors yard.  I call HUFT for a next day appointment (morning preferred) and instead of an appointment I was able to speak with an AMAZING service technician named Shun. I explained what was going on, and he took the time to listen carefully, and then mentioned that I probably had a broken water pipe underground, under the condenser unit.  Brilliant!  We checked and that's exactly what it was!  HUFT Heating and Air Conditioning is an HONEST company!  The could have sent out a technician and charged me an emergency fee but instead he talked me through it and we found out it wasn't even an A/C problem!!  I'm so glad they're my A/C company!!!

Had them out for a duct work check. Tech was really nice. We ended up booking a home effeminacy appointment for 12pm the following week, not a window appointment but a hard appointment for 12 noon. I specifically asked them how much time I should book out for the estimate since I had to go back to work. Day arrives, they call me at 12:20 and say the guy is running late and will be here at about 1:45, ouch. Needless to say this was a huge hassle. had a baby sitter here, lost money from work etc. We were prepared to spend thousands on insulation, ventilation and new duck work. They will claim this was a window appointment from 12 to 2 and maybe it was on their end. Simply not what I was told and I don't usually have problems with my english, nor does my wife who was here and herd the same thing. Oh well, that's business these days. Glitches everywhere. Given the high ratings they have, probably a good service. My money will be spent elsewhere. Thanks god this is a common trade with lots of options. Once again, the tech that came out was super nice and professional and seemed very experienced and honest. Darn thought we had a match.

Our system died completely on a Wednesday just after a service call.  Ryan came out very quickly on Friday to review the system and give me  quote.  Actually 4 quotes based on different equipment.  After due diligence we took Ryans bid, which was the lowest, but very close to 2 others.   We lucked out and the equipment was available and a Friday slot opened up, so the system went in 1 week later.  
Bryar and Ton did the install and they were excellent.  They were focused and professional.  By the end of the day we had a very neatly installed working system.  Well done.

Our experience was outstanding.  I fully intend to give Huft our continuing maintenance business in order to keep the system in good shape.

I have been shopping all the local companies over the past 2 months in preparation of purchasing the entire package.
Ryan originally came out and we discussed several options.  He was not your typical pushy sales guy.  He was extremely knowledgeable and never pressured.  I called him for a follow up visit and again no pressure.  I felt very comfortable and extremely happy with his pricing.  The technicians were here today and again very happy with their staff.  Friendly, knowledgeable and respectful of my property.  They did a great job.  I sent back the thermostat today when the technician pointed out my current one was a higher end model and fairly new.  Honest service!  They quickly refunded me for the thermostat.  I highly recommend this company.  Excellent people!

I have been maintaining my primary residences and rental properties since the late 1970s.  The recent round of maintenance calls to service my five properties was probably the most comprehensive I have ever observed.  The technician, Richie, was probably the most  thourough I have ever had the pleasure of working with.  This technician is awesome and I should know as I am retired from Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency where I worked maintaining and modernizing nearly 4,000 units of housing.

I cannot thank Huft Heating & Air enough for all that they have done for my family over the past month and a half. Our 15 year old system went out on us at the beginning of May when the first heat of the summer arrived in Elk Grove. We contacted Huft through Yelp and had a technician out the same day. Christopher, the service manager, came out and within a short time up in our attic he had our system back up and running. We were advised of the problem and what the cost of repair would be.  Knowing the age of the system and potential future repair needs, I asked Christopher to go over some total system replacement options/prices. Since we had cold air and were comfortable, Christopher understood we needed time to talk over our next step before committing to anything.

With our A/C running and the family comfortable we decided to roll the dice and see how long we could go. The system kept up for about a month until the heat started to pile up and then we were out again. This time I had another company come out for a second quote, this company has a 5 star yelp rating, they had a technician out within 45 minutes. After an hour of working on our system the technician advised me of the problem, same problem Christopher advised us of, very comparable pricing for the repair, but our system was dead.

Without any A/C we were given quotes for a whole system replacement from the second company, the repair cost was 10% the cost of a new system. With the service Christopher from Huft gave us, I wanted to meet with him one more time before committing to a large investment to our home. Being at the busiest time for HVAC contractors, Christopher was scheduled out for two weeks. Knowing the situation my family was in, Christopher agreed to meet with my wife and I in the evening after his other services were done.

Before going over system replacement options, Christopher wanted to go up and look at our system again. Within 10 minutes he was able to get our A/C limping along again. By this time I was confident that I would be choosing Huft as my HVAC specialists.

Although the system Christopher was recommending for us was more expensive than the other quote we received, the flexibility in financing options available through Huft, and the knowledge, training, and experience of Christopher makes it worth the extra money.

Doing research on HVAC systems you'll see that the two most important factors in getting the most out of your new system is PROPER INSTALLATION  and PROPER MAINTENANCE. Huft has you covered.

The installation of our new HVAC system took place over the two hottest days of the heat wave, 110+. Our installers Ton and Spencer worked non stop to make sure my family was able to finally cool off after our old system finally died on us 2 days before our install date. Huft provided us a portable A.C. unit to try and hold us over until our new system could be installed. They got our cold air up and running on the first day, and had everything else installed and inspected halfway through the second day.

Again I can't thank the crew from Huft enough for all that they have done for my family. They truly are heroes in my book! If you're looking for service, repairs, or replacement of your HVAC system do yourself a favor and call Huft! Their knowledge, service, and experience are worth every dollar!

We needed a new air conditioner, heater and ductwork. Our salesman was Alex. He was amazing! Explained everything to us in a way we could understand. Helped us choose exactly the right system for our home. The installation crew, John, Gio, Angel and Eddie were wonderful!  Respectful, neat clean, always on time, answered our questions, explained what they were doing, and cleaned up completely at the end of each day. The office personnel always contacted us to let us know who was coming and what time they would be here. We had phone numbers and names of office personnel if we had questions about anything. Moved into our twenty two year old home last December. We had no clue how well the previous owner maintained the ac unit, so called Huft after doing some research.

He inspected my system thoroughly and found several issues with the system. Did not replace system with them, cannot afford to or obtain reasonable financing. Yeah, time to fight with home warranty company.

Great company, will use them for biannual maintenance when the system is repaired.

My furnace went out on a 30 degree night at 1am. I called another HVAC company in Elk Grove based on their Yelp reviews. In short, they tried to rip me off, saying all the parts on my 20 year old system are very expensive. I paid their diagnosis fee and sent them on their way. The next day I called Huft. I really wish I called them first. The man who made the appointment was very helpful and they fit me in the same day. The technician, Matt, showed up on time. Within 30 minutes he had a clear diagnosis of what the problem was and explained it to me very clearly. He was very honest and got my system up and running shortly after. I have 100% confidence in Huft and they will be the only company I call when it's time to replace my aging system. Thanks again!

Our AC stopped working two weeks ago. We had a different company come out through our home warranty to fix the issue they couldn't and recommended a new unit instead of repairing it. They gave us a quote and we decided to call around. We had 3 different quotes before we decided to go with Huft. When Trevor from Huft came to give us a quote he was very personable and knowledgeable. He really took the time to explain things to my husband and I. My husband knows a little more about these systems than I do but Trevor still explained it to me so that I could understand as well. They gave us a great quote and it was within our budget! Trevor called their warehouse to see if they had the unit in stock and they did! They ended up coming out the very next day! Jose and Angel were very understanding and actually pretty quiet since I had to work and I work from home. But they were very efficient and did an amazing job at giving us cold air again! They even cleaned up after themselves which was awesome! We will definitely be using Huft for all our home service needs and HIGHLY recommend them to anyone!

I saved thousands of dollars going with Huft. They are very integrated with SMUD, so they can recommend and do the work on your home that will ensure you get various rebates through SMUD, saving you a lot of money. I'm sure there are other companies who could do the same level of work, but making things run smoothly with SMUD was relieving and easy.

We worked with Chris, the General Manager, who was very patient and knowledgeable. He handled the initial inspection, recommendations, quotes, and all the paperwork. I cannot recall the names of the two men he sent out to work on the house, but they were very nice as well.

I would recommend their service to anyone looking to do minor or major work to their HVAC system and I will definitely use them again for regular service.  Thank you, Chris and the others working along side him.

Huff came out and fixed my ac last summer when it was 100+ degrees after a different company came and was horrible! Huff came to give me a second opinion about my heater when a different company told me I was poisoning my family with a 3 ppm reading on THEIR carbon monoxide detector (turns out it was actually ZERO).

They came back to give me a quote on new systems and will be installing them in the next few days! Very happy with their service and technicians! Every single time I call they are awesome! I will only use them in the future!!

Took advantage of $68 annual maintenance/review offer of furnace, aircon and plumbing.  All this was done by courteous, professional staff.  They suggested additional refrigerant and replacement of one capacitor.  Their quoted price seemed high, so I checked the same items at five other vendors.  Four of the five came back with significantly lower prices.  (Fifth one was only higher because they insisted on a $99 re-hash of everything Huft already did).  Called Huft to let them know what I had found and offer them the opportunity to provide their best bid.  They were not interested.  Their first price was the only price (unless I become a member for even more money).  Bye-bye.

I was very satisfied with the work they perform.  They were always on time and curious. Answered all my questions I had and explained how things worked. They put down tarps to protect my carpets and wore booties on their shoes. Always clean up after doing their job.  After the installation was completed, Alex follow up to see if I had any questions and if I was satisfied with the job. Had Huff Heating and Air diagnose my heater that wasn't working. After inspection, the Huff technician called to indicate a pressure switch had failed and the replacement part and labor would be $325. A quick internet search indicated the part cost between $15 and $30, depending on shipping. My local parts place wanted $40 (known to be high retail but has the part in stock). I call the technician back and tell him thanks but no thanks and pay the $79 service fee. I spend my lunch hour buying the part and going up onto the roof to replacing the part (1 screw, two slip-on electrical connections, and one rubber hose). The reason for 2 stars is that scheduling the service was fast/efficient and they showed up on time.

Our heater went out over the weekend and we called Huft on a holiday to come and check our heater.  They were full for the day but figured out a way to fit us in.  The tech called and asked if he could arrive early and we welcomed this.   He found the  issue right away and we now have heat.   The tech was very kind and informative.  We have never used Huft and I'm glad we now have a go to for our heat and AC.

After being long-term, loyal customers of another HVAC company with the initials of BB, we sought out a second (HONEST) opinion from Austin at Huft, to determine if the item being pushed by the BB tech during routine maintenance was in fact a necessity, as was insisted. Austin and Anthony from Huft came to reassess our a/c unit, ductwork, coil, etc., etc. today. Not only do we NOT need the pricey item BB was pushing on us, but before photographs taken by Huft techs today showed that the BB tech hadn't even completed the simple tasks needed at the finish of his work! Austin and Anthony spent more time assessing our system at NO CHARGE than was spent during a paid maintenance by BB's tech!! Without a second thought, we've moved on to Huft and will happily give them our future loyalty, trust and ALL future business!
Also, a shout out to Tara in the office - I hope I got your name right!! - who stayed a little late at the office last Friday to take time to get us on Austin's schedule!!! Y'all are AMAZING!!! Give these great employees a BONUS! And thanks for demonstrating what CUSTOMER CARE AND SERVICE are all about!!

I was especially looking forward to working with Huft being you were referred to us by a joint friend and associate who we both respect and admire and who gave you an outstanding review. I was confused and almost didn't write a review but my gut told me there was something very wrong here. They showed up on time with masks and booties to keep my house clean. The toilet was fixed right away. Slow draining sinks and drippy faucets are now history. The price was reasonable. Workers are friendly and professional.

Got bids from 4 local companies before deciding to have Huft replace my 18 year old furnace and AC. . Initial contact was with Ryan Rawson, Comfort Consultant, who was one of the best sales consultants I've ever dealt with. Had complete confidence in his honesty, integrity and product knowledge.......absolutely no pressure.  On installation day, owner Brian was there helping technician Phil get er done......in one long day. A few additional adjustments were handled by technician/magician Christopher....if your lucky enough to get Chris working your job, it will be 100% A-OK. Huft's price wasn't the cheapest, but right in there with three of the four. Their presentation and Lennox equipment made it an easy choice, and office staff has been helpful. They actually return calls, which is getting to be something special in this day and age.  Live in a Del Web community, and have recommended to two neighbors. I have no family or professional association with Huft, other than as a satisfied customer.

Terrible customer service; especially with my experience with Jamie. I called because I had recently tried turning on heat in my house but it was just blowing cold air. They had come out back in June to replace my blower capacitor so I thought that something might have come loose in the process. They told me they could have a tech come out but it would cost $79 for the diagnostic fee. I thought it was unfair to be charged that again when they had worked on my A/C unit and paid over $900 a few months ago and there was no prior heating issue (which the tech Andre also mentioned in our invoice). Jamie then became super unprofessional by talking over my wife when she was trying to state our case as to why we felt it was unfair to be charged for a third time to come out. We spent over $900 in services and were highly confident the issue with the heat was a simple issue. I reached out to a different company, Rebel Air, and they came out in a couple of hours and spent 5 minutes attaching a wire to where the heating element was. I asked if this could have been done because I recently had my blower capacitor replaced and he said it looked like they missed that wire when reassembling it back together.

All I asked for was for Huft to come out without having to be charged because I was confident that it was a simple issue; which in this case was a loose wire. It ended up showing me that Huft is just out to collect your money and that they don't care about their customers as the experience with Jamie was just unprofessional. Will no longer be using their service!

I would recommend Huft Heating and Air.  I will say at first I did have some challenges.  The first HVAC system they installed on May 1, 2020 was a lemon and was not cooling my 2-story home and after several service calls of trying to figure out why the new unit was not working, Chris came through and replaced the original unit with a different unit.  He assured me that this new unit would work.  They completely replaced my unit with a different HVAC unit on June 1st and we have only had a few days of real hot weather but so far the new HVAC unit appears to be working well.

Jake lead a monumental effort intrude to a minimum and keep the house clean.  His able assistant Quentin was here there and everywhere getting the job done.
Our project was to clean, replace outdated duct work and install new insulation in attic.  Inherently a messy job.  Yet each day left our home clean.  
This is indeed as good as it gets; knowledgeable, conscientious to the max! polite, considerate people.

I highly recommend Huft Heating and Air Conditioning to everyone.  Their expertise, customer service and professionalism are excellent.  My heating/air system broke on the coldest day in Sacramento .  My friend, who is a long-time HUFT customer, suggested I call HUFT.  When I called HUFT for a service appointment, they came out the very same day I called.  Thank you Matt Bridges!!!  They also waived their service appointment fee because I was a first time customer.  Matt got the system working temporarily but informed me I needed to replace the pressure switch and blower motor.  I decided it was time to replace my 22 year old system.  I did my due diligence and got three cost estimates.  One from Huft (Ryan Rawson the nicest and the most patient person I have ever met, I needed everything explained to me at least three times), Bell Brothers and Bonnie Heating & Air.  I went with Huft because they did a thorough evaluation of my house and determined I needed to add a second return in my house and replaced my entire duct system. What really impressed me is that they matched every competitor's price!!  A big thank you to Bryar and Ton for the great installation work.  Thanks again Ryan for making sure I was extremely satisfied with my HUFT system!!!

Our old air conditioner broke during the hottest weak in sac. We decided to replace instead of a costly no guarantee fix. After getting 6 estimates i can say that Ryan at Huft was the most knowledgeable and helpful. He was the only one who told us about all the rebates we qualified for. The crew was at our house for a week and everything went smoothly. They were all very friendly and professional. I highly recommend them.

My furnace stopped working in the middle of the night on a very very cold evening. I sent a message to Huft in the wee hours. Chris replied via Yelp in less than 5 hours. I was lucky enough to have Chris send a Technician to my house at 3pm that same day. Chris sent Jet to take a look at my furnace. Jet was very professional and very polite. He took his time to explain everything he was doing to trouble shoot my furnace and what the possible cost repair may be. I was lucky enough to have a very simple malfunction which Jet fixed in a few minutes. Jet also installed a Nest thermostat for me. He did this in record time as well. It took him maybe 10 mins. This company is legit. Im only using Huft for any future heating or cooling needs. I highly suggest you should do the same. And if you're lucky enough, they'll send Jet to trouble shoot your problem.

I decided to call them up for a service since it has been a while. They came and they were very honest. Since the damage was really bad, they gave the option of I wanted to solicit additional bids.i decided to go with them because I did not want to wait too long. They ordered the parts which took a week. It was difficult but I know it would be fixed.

After a week, they came, installed and now it is working refectory. Would recommend them and the fact that I am supporting a local business.

I hate giving bad reviews, and this review isn't based on the companies product it's based on the customer service and privacy. Somehow this company got my name and address and they send me so much junk mail. I send them back return to sender, and also I called them two times, I was super polite and explained to them I didn't want to be on their mailing list and didn't know where they got or bought my information from. I have no interest in the service and asked them kindly to remove my name and address, the woman was ... well, not rude, but not polite, she said she would remove me... and 3 more deliveries of wasted paper, I'm still getting garbage mail, it's just a waste of time, paper, money, and privacy on both parties, I don't get it? Stop mailing me stuff.... ?

:) I don't dig it one bit....

Also, most of the positive reviews here were all made in the same week, and the users are inactive and have no info, photos or use on Yelp, probably fake accounts or friends... not cool!

Tech was very professional and performed an exterior inspection of our ac system outside the home.  Determined there was a leak in the line as our refrigerant was around 3lbs (capacity is 10lbs.)  Did not inspect the HVAC in the attic as other did, but maybe he didn't need to.  He offered a simple remedy to refill the system with 6lbs of refrigerant and then return in two weeks to find the leak.  Or have a comfort specialist come out to do a further inspection and offer possible solutions.  

Two days later (response time was very fast) the comfort specialist came over to inspect and provide solutions to the problem.  He was on time, professional and very tidy.  He looked at every vent in each room and provided a very thorough explanation of the whole system, how much air flowed upstairs vs downstairs, and at what capacity would be most efficient.  Reviewed three different HVAC systems to replace ours, which given our specific situation, the mid-level would have been our choice.  He was extremely knowledgable and explained to us in terms we could understand, which was great.  Explained financing and SMUD rebates for energy efficiency..all great.

Unfortunately, they never gave us any other  options other than replacing the hvac system.  Our system had a tiny hole in a coil in the attic unit, which needed to be fixed.  Then refrigerant added and all is working perfect now.

Decided to try out HUFT since they are advertised on RAD Radio and I was not happy with my previous plumbing company. I messaged them online and immediately I had a phone call from a polite rep trying to schedule my plumbing job. Once scheduled I received constant emails and text messages leading up to my appointment to inform me on who was coming and what time. Octavio showed up and had a mask with slip on booties and took care of the job and was very professional. He asked if I wanted to join the HUFT membership and was informative. I will be using HUFT from now on for all my home services needs, I hope they continue to be as professional and informative as they have been so far!

Huft Home Services did an amazing job with installing my new thermostat and fixing my AC unit! Fidel came out and provided excellent customer service. He walked me through step by step of the fixes he was doing to my AC unit, and kept me updated when he ran into roadblocks. Huft Home Services have the best prices and most knowledgeable staff. We had Kevin come out for our maintenance on our ac unit. It was 17 years old and was starting to have major issues. Kevin got us setup up with a whole new HVAC  system. Plus was able to save us over a 1k in savings. Justin,Malik and Sean came and took care of installation of a new system. They took out the old unit and got the new one installed. They answered all of our questions and talked to us about the steps and kept us informed on the progress and made sure everything was cleaned up after they were done. They were all very professional and knocked out the system fast. We are very happy with our new system and are worry free about the hot summer days approaching. Wow, what a nightmare company to deal with! I talked with the tech on installing a whole house fan.  He seemed like a nice enough guy. He told me to call the office to schedule a visit for him to come check it out. I called the office & spoke to a lady & had to give all my details for them to record a second time and she told me someone would call me that she was after hours & couldn't schedule an appointment. Three days go by, no call back. So I call again. They have no record of my information and I have to give them all my information again for the third time. They can't have anyone come out for three more days to have a look at the house. They couldn't schedule a preliminary appointment to have it installed until the tech is out to check it out even though I've already had it checked out for suitability & been told it was fine. When they were able to get the tech out would be so late in the evening that their regular office staff would be gone & I'd be back to the great abyss of afterhours that can't schedule appointments and hadn't passed on my details before.  

We decided if this is how the operate when they are trying to get business there is no way we would want to have to deal with them if something went wrong with the fan/install etc. Trying to give a company your business shouldn't be so difficult. I called to cancel the appointment for them coming out, the guy I spoke with was super rude, told me that didn't even have me scheduled for an appointment.

Seriously, you couldn't imagine such a comedy of errors in one business. Super surprising as so many reviews here have had good experiences. I would recommend run a mile from these folks, there are enough good companies out there without having to deal with this.

ABOUSOLUTELY HANDS DOWN THEE BEST MOST AMAZING COMPANY!!!  The quickest work, very reliable, when a start and end date was given for work it was done. My husband and I came as a last minute work. Great Service, arrived on time. Huft texts you when your technician is on the way. When they arrive they are very professional. Everyone introduced themselves so I knew who would be at my house. Then they got right to work. My children loved watching them work, the guys that came out answered all their questions and were so kind. We had such a good experience with Huft Heating and Air Conditioning! The quote was not the lowest, but with everything I read about the company, I new it was the perfect choice for my family...our HVAC system from the 1980s finally died in the beginning of July and the company was booking out three weeks. They provided us a temporary portable unit and the called us to move up our installation. The installers were very professional and I would recommend them to everyone.

I hired hulf home services to install a shut off valve because I have  Samsung gas stove coming from Costco. They installed it and charge  $330.44 pricier than other but ok you got what you pay for but not with this one. Friday day installed the valve and the flex line, Saturday costco guys came and was jot able to install the stove because the connector from the flexnile is too big. Called huft about it and they schedule to fix it monday 5pm. Hulf technician came looked at the gas line and the stove said yes it doesn't fit we got the wrong parts, took the parts with them and said we cant do it tonight becouse the store were we get the parts are already closed, (i know a  something is wrong

Open its only 5:15 pm but maybe they have specific store), we will be back tommorrow 7:30 to 8 in the morning but most likely will be here 7:30 . Now today around 8:07 they still not here, I called hulf and they said that i dont have an appointment today they said they talk to the technician and the technician said he didn't say anything  about returning in the morning. If they did make an appoinment, how and when are they going to fix iT?  Unacceptable. I never thought this could happen.

My old heater died..it was 39* outside....not a good day!  Huft came over..ordered the part, got it the next day...yay!  BUT, since the A/C and Heater were 16 years old...we decided not to keep bandaging the equipment.  So we had the salesman come over...Ryan...who is a pleasure to work with and knows his stuff...and within 4 days...we had a brand new beautiful fabulous new a/c and heater!  (the money we put out to put the new part in was credited toward the new heater price) The old ducts were not installed correctly..new ducts provide  heat that is distributed evenly throughout the house.  WOW! what a difference!  The install team couldn't have been nicer and more helpful if they tried!  They were respectful, and cleaned up EVERYTHING when they left...EVERYTHING WENT PERFECTLY PERFECT!
We are thrilled with the products and the entire company.  It is such a strange thing to deal with a company that is actually professional these days!  
UNBEATABLE , EXTRAORDINARY SERVICE.....POLITE AND ALL AROUND GREAT!

Okay so I called them again for another issue with the hvac system. The house in Greenhaven is finally in escrow after my tenants left. House inspection showed unit was short-cycling. Unit is still under 5 years old so I decided to have them service and diagnose it again. New tech is Matt. previous technicians I've dealt with (Bob and Steve) are no longer there. Matt gave me the bad news and that the problem is outside of warranty. So I'm fine with that, I know not everything is covered under the manufacturer's warranty. Cost of repair is $400 bucks. So when I asked if that was the total bill, he said he still needs to charge me the $80 diagnostic fee. Whoa, in the process of getting the house ready for the market I dealt with electricians, plumbers, garage door technician, painters and while they all have service call fees, they all waived it once I told them i'll have them do the work. So I was expecting the same from Huft, after all the unit is still under 5 years old and they can at least waive that for a repeat customer. So I asked Matt nicely if there was a possibility that he can maybe just waive the diag fee since he's doing the work right there and then, no extra trip. He said he can't because he still has to charge me for his time and the gas and the truck wear and tear. So I said fine, just do the work. In my mind I was thinking maybe I can talk to the owners, Brian and Kendra, and maybe they'll have a more understanding ear. So the next day I called the office to pay over the phone with my credit card. They gave me the $480 total and again I asked if maybe the they just waive the service fee, Kaye transferred the call to Brian and he gave me basically the same spiel that they would lose money if they waive the service fee. So that was the end of it. I didn't press further or begged or demanded, but it was truly disappointing from a customer-service standpoint. I was aware of a $25 discount offer on their website but I didn't mention. I was hoping Brian himself would bring it up since it was pretty clear I was looking for some kind of discount. Instead he brought up that maybe I should join their club for a $99 annual fee and all future work will have a 10% discount. I said no since this house is now in escrow and will not be needing their services anymore. I paid the $480 and called it a day.
I guess every consumer has different expectations. For me I don't expect them to offer to waive their service fee, but if somebody asks and he's already giving you the business, then maybe go the extra mile to show appreciation of your patronage of their business. I don't really think it'll cause the company to lose money if they waive or discount it. I think i'll go ahead and remove the Huft sticker and phone number from the thermostat and will tell my buyer to use a different company for future hvac service.

I've been using Huft services for a number of years. Overall, they are always polite on the phone and the technicians are generally nice people. The reason for the 3 star is that, in my opinion, they are not the same company from 5-6 years ago. The up-sell for upgrades and repairs is getting tiresome. One of the newer technicians (that apparently no longer works there) convinced me that my system was leaking gas and I could be poisoning my family overnight. This was after he questioned (jokingly) why I send my daughter to daycare if I was at home - because I have a job, by the way. He was also looking around my house a little too much and asking questions about items in my home. I quickly got a referral from a friend for Young's HVAC repair (one of the owners) who quickly came over to give me their impression- for free. Turns out I was being lied to by the Huft tech and to make it worse, simple putting the system in the off mode was not legally enough to stop me from potentially poisoning my family if my system was, in fact, leaking CO. They are supposed to turn the gas line off and tag it. While it is older, there was absolutely nothing wrong with my HVAC system. This enraged me but I took it Huft no longer has my business. Even if they let that person go. I'm tired of wondering what exactly I need versus how they are trying to make money.

UPDATE: Response from company. Much appreciated. At least they care about their image.

I have spent the last two weeks going through our database for every homeowner we have in West Sacramento to try and figure out who you were. I believe you are located on ..., the technician you referred to in your review was Dan and the service date was January 2, 2015. Dan has not been employed with us for over a year, and after reading your review, I am glad that he left. I had no idea that this had happened until reading your review two weeks ago. I have since sat down with all of my technicians old and new and reminded them that if found that they have lied to a customer that they will be terminated immediately. I would like to say thank you to Huft Heating and Air especially their technician Matt Bridges.  For many years we have been dealing with a competitor of Huft when it comes to annual tune ups on our AC and Heating unit.  We had a membership in which we paid monthly fee to come twice a year for tune ups.  Each time the competitor came out to our house they tend to use scare tactics that would prey on people who are not savvy about HVAC.  They are only interested in selling a new over-priced unit.  Yesterday we had our annual tune up on the heating with the competitor and the technician basically said our system is hazardous and can burn our house down at any time.  Basically said we should not be running the system because it was too dangerous.  He even went as far as saying he would turn the gas off himself because of the danger our system was causing.  Mind you, our system is really old and does need to be replaced but we are just not in the market now to have it replaced.  For the competitor to create that kind of anxiety in our family is inexcusable.  We finally decided we should try to get a second opinion, so we called Huft.  Matt Bridges (technician) was not told of any thing that was said by the competitors and he spent almost 3 hours in our attic inspecting our system.  His conclusion, is, while the system is old and should be replaced, the unit is not dangerous and is functioning as expected.  After explaining to Matt what we were told by the competitor, he simply disagreed with their assessment and did not see anything with our system that was dangerous and needed to be shut down.  He did not try to sell us on an unnecessary repair or entirely new unit.  Mind you this visit was a No Cost visit and he was very informative and considerate.  Huft you have now gained a new customer.  We sincerely thank you for your treatment of ill-informed customers, like ourselves, and not out to make the sale of a new system.  It seems you are truly in the business to help people.

Had an excellent experience with Huft. We very legitimately needed a complete heating and air system. After 3 estimates we went with Huft, who not only offered the best deal, but did more than the other two. (I would recommend you avoid Bell Brothers. Their estimate was more than twice the other two - to pay for all that advertising.) The installers were thoroughly professional, though they had to work around a couple of time-consuming detours in the installation. They and Ryan, who took our order, were informative every step of the way. Give them a try.

The scheduling of the servicing my tankless water heater with Mathew was very  easy.  I received both a call the day prior to my scheduled appointment, and a call the day of with an estimate of the service person's arrival.  The service technician, Typhan, explained the process and completed the service as described.  He told me of other services Huft provided and did a great job.  Typhan was personable and very tidy.  I would recommend Huft to friends and family.  Great job Typhan.

This company has really gone downhill in the last few years. We purchased a new AC through them a few years ago and then signed up for thier program where they come out for check ups twice  a year. We used the heater check up before winter. And since we recently moved into a new house I called to have them come and look at our new AC that was having issues.  It took 11 days for an appt which another company thought was a crazy wait for a current customer.  The tech arrived and spent 30 mins looking at the heater. I told him the Ac was making a high pitched squealing noise periodically and would start putting out warm air. The guy told me nothing could be making that noise and it was working perfectly. A few weeks have gone by and the problem has gotten worse. I called the company back a week ago and explained my issue. The receptionist didn't know what to do and never offered to have someone come out again. I asked if I were to send a video of the noise if someone who knew what was going on would be able to look at it and contact me. She said yes and they would get back to me. It has been over a week and I still haven't heard anything. I have had another company come out and they diagnosed the problem immediately and have ordered a new motor to fix the issue. I am happy to have found a competent knowledgeable new company. Huft use to be great but things have definitely changed.

Top of the line professionals - excellent service! I had Huft replace our complete heating, air, and ducting with top-of-the-line equipment that they recommended in 2009. They have serviced it twice a year since and  it is still operating like new. The technicians that come out are knowledgeable, show respect for us and the cleanliness of our home, and keep us informed of the condition of our equipment season to season. If I had it to do over again I would go back immediately to Huft Heating and Air-Conditioning. Don

We just had another tuneup of our furnace on October 14, 2016 by Jim Ellis, and he did the same professional work that we are accustomed to. The heating and air both work to perfection without a flaw. We are spoiled by the performance!

Required emergency service on a Saturday evening. I was immediately connected to Shuntavious who clearly explained emergency pricing ($189 non-club member price) and that he may not have the part on his truck to fix the a/c. He said he would arrive within in an hour. He called 40 minutes later to let me know he would be arriving shortly. He was professional, and quickly diagnosed and repaired the problem.

Chuc was very honest and truthful. I didn't feel he was trying to sell me anything, but just give me the straight facts about the condition of my HVAC. He took time to look into things and didn't seem rushed or brush things off. Chuc came prepared in light of Covid 19 with his mask and booties. I appreciate his opinion and his willingness to answer questions. I felt my service was more honest than another reputable company that I met with a few days prior. Thank you

We just had to update everything in our older home that my mom lives in.  We had many companies come out over the past year to give us quotes.  Finally bit the bullet using the Ygrene program and was very impressed with Huft.  First, Ryan the sales guy was very nice and knowledgeable.  (My husband and I can't stand the pushy salesmen types.)  We upgraded the HVAC system, water heater, all duct work, had the attic sealed, added a whole house fan and blew in new insulation.  They were very competitive price wise and Ryan worked with us on our needs and budget.  The work crew was very polite and did everything on schedule even with a few extra things that were discovered that needed to be done. So far the system works great, is super quiet and we are very pleased all around.

I recently replaced my entire AC system (heat pump & furnace). I reached out to Huft after I looked into another AC company that I ended up not feeling comfortable going through. Right after I reached out to Huft they got back to me and got one of their salesmen out here. They asked what issues I was currently having and what improvements I wanted. The salesmen and I had a 1.5 hr discussion, a walk-through of the entire system, and talk about my budget (very valuable to know how the entire system works to make a responsible decision). I went with a new Bosch system with a matching air handler that was within my budget. I also had some duct work done to get more cold air into particular rooms.

They were kind of booked out pretty far but that's to be expected this time of year (I think after I signed it was 1.5-months out). My original install date was missed by a week because it took longer to get the equipment they needed obviously because certain supply chains are only operating at 50% or less so it's still understandable.

I was told installation would take 2 days which didn't bother me. The crew came on time and worked hard through the day to get everything done almost the first day and the 2nd day they finished and were out the door by 1pm. I will say that they did miss a bunch of screws/ends of wire they cut when they cleaned up but hey I have a vacuum to so once again not a huge deal in my opinion.

So far my system is running great and quietly which is fantastic. Happy with everything so far from the initial point of contact all the way through installation.

Huft quickly returned my request for a quote to come out and check our AC unit which had stopped turning on. Chuc was the technician who helped us and got our unit working and ready to go in no time. Speedy and efficient Huft was a pleasure to work with.

I would highly recommend Huft. Their installation was top notch, and their price was the most competitive with other high quality installers.  

I had my water heater replaced through the SMUD rebate.  Some of the parts that I provided were defective (thanks Home Depot), but Kenneth handled the situation with professionalism and replaced the defective part to make sure we had hot running water the same day of the install. Thanks Huft!

I'm honestly not sure how I feel...Alex came over to do an inspection on my current HVAC. He did a quick 5 minute check, told me what was wrong and gave me options...and then charged me a $79 inspection. I should have realized there would be some kind of fee, but no one told me the cost prior to his arrival.
If I had known the inspection would only be 5 mins and be charged such a hefty fee I would have waited.

Why didn't any of the ladies at the office say anything? I am a single man with a tight income? I would have waited.

So, is it my fault? I'm honestly  sure....but, I will be going elsewhere for further business.

Huft was A+ from beginning to end. First, their communication is excellent. They even sent texts with photos of the technicians who would be arriving at our home. Each of the techs who came into our home were friendly, knowledgeable, and very customer service oriented. They installed 3 new ceiling fans, moved an existing fan, and moved a ceiling light to another area. They cleaned up, even taking the boxes with them. We had one minor glitch and it was taken care of immediately. Special shout out to Anthony & Simon for professional, outstanding service. We also had someone from Huft check a bathroom faucet handle for us and he fixed it in 5 minutes. Absolutely stellar service by everyone. Thank you!

Huft Home Services was quick to respond to my service request on yelp, and gave me the most affordable quote for an inspection of my problem. Not only that, but they offer weekend appointments that are flexible for my schedule. Their technician Adrian was here on time and did a great job fixing my issue and staying within the quoted price range. He explained to me what the original issue was and the steps he took to resolve it. It was a pleasure working with them!

Please please please go to Huft for all your Home servicing needs. This company has a level of care in its community that I did not know existed. My three year old daughter was recently diagnosed with cancer. Soon after arriving home from 10 days in hospital after diagnosis our A/C completely went out on a 100 degree day. A friend referred us to Huft. They sent out a technician that did a very thorough inspection, more so than other competitors did before making recommendations. We had our installation set up for the next business day and it was all done in a day. We got a totally new A/C, furnace, air purification system, duct work and vents and water purification system. The installation was incredible, clean and professional. We have a tri-level house and we feel a noticeable difference in the air, as well as the efficiency of our unit. We no longer have to have it run all day long just to keep our house cool. Given our daughters diagnosis the purification systems were very important to us! The amazing people at Huft stepped up for my family in a way that I will never be able to put into words.

Do NOT call this company.  They lie and try to rip you off.  I went without heat from mid-November 2020 to March 2021 because of this awful company.  I'm a senior with illnesses and they let me freeze.  Tried to tell me I needed to spend between $1,800 and $7,600 to make repairs or replace my system.  Had the work done, AND the company I used fixed it for under $300 INCLUDING FINDING AN ADDITIONAL PART THAT WAS BAD.  Shame on Huft.

I called 4 other places before landing on Huft, and none of them could/would help with my AC issue. Huft took it on and got my AC running great in one afternoon. It's nice to find a place that just gets it done and doesn't worry about what brand ac you have or who installed it, they just fix the problem.
The guys that came out were great too, they were fine with my dogs and cleaned up everything real nice.

Excellent service, we replaced our duct work ,heating and air all at once during an unexpected heatwave in our area, they were FANTASTIC, no pressure for sales even though our blower fan failed in older unit and we needed air fast, they sent 3 crews, specialist for the AC, specialist for the gas Heater, crew to remove and replace the ductwork, then followed that with a different specialist later that week for quality assessment and check of our new system, also the sales team drove with us to try to find a portable A/C unit since they were all out of there temps at the shop due to high demand at the time of the heat wave for service and repairs, we eventually got a unit, but to our surprise they brought us another to hold us off comfortably until our units were replaced. Highly recommend!!

I was very pleased with Alex Maldonado's service as my Huft's HVAC Design Specialist.   I began my HVAC search only interested in only a  Lennox single stage compressor system.   After Mr. Maldonado asked me to consider other brands, I did extensive research and was  impressed with what I discovered about the Bosch HVAC system.  So, I chose Bosch.    When I looked in my attic, my old HVAC system  looked like a hot mess.   The unit was on 2 x 6s, the freon lines weren't attached to anything  and spliced together and over 35 years old.   After Huft's HVAC Technicians Kenneth Bell, Angel, and Angel were done, my new Bosch HVAC System looks like a work of art.   My new Bosch HVAC System is very quiet.   Thanks Huft.

I came home from a weekend away to my house sitting at 89°. I wanted to die. Clearly something was not working and the forecast for the coming days was +100° . I called late Monday afternoon, made an appt for Wed. James, the service  tech showed up as scheduled, explained the problem & the fix. He Had everything back in working order within 30min of arrival. Could not have asked for a better experience. Fast, efficient, and reasonably priced.

I suggest you buy your own ac filters off Amzn and not from HUft
Huft has installed 3 ac units for me and did a good job
However, this recent yearly inspection was done well except they charged me $290 for a carbon ac filter  for the unit    the tech had said that Huft would install a filter the owner had bought so  later Iooked it up on line and the same filter was $77.  I am unhappy to get ripped off like this from a company I had trusted

The salesman for Huft was very friendly and knowledgable.  No fast talking like I'd gotten from other guys who bid the job.  When I signed with Huft, the salesman (wish I could remember his name!!) told me exactly what to expect.  

The installation crew was timely and clean.  Though their people skills weren't as dynamic as the salesman's, they were easy enough to talk to.  I love my new system a lot and every time I've called them, the staff have been responsive and polite.  

I did end up with some inspection corrections, which means two visits from the county, but the girl on the phone told me that was totally normal and I'm expecting that Huft will live up to my expectations of quality service and come on out here and fix the issues.  

I'd definitely recommend this company to anyone looking to replace their HVAC system.

I signed up for their annual membership which includes a spring and fall tune-up of my a/c and furnace in early 2011.  I can count on Kay to call about every 6 months to set up my appointments. The service representatives are very friendly, informative and professional and offer recommendations when needed.  I have found this service gives me great peace of mind that everything is working properly and would recommend it to everyone.

We had a very good experience with Huft doing an energy efficiency upgrade.  It was a complicated job tied in with a re-wiring and the Huft team was easy to work with, professional and patient with patient with the idiosyncrasies of our job.  We wanted a company that had knowledge about indoor air quality, moisture issues and how the HVAC system integrates with the rest of the home - and they were it.  Chris van Dyke was extremely responsive as our main contact and sales coordinator.

I gave Huft 5 stars because they deserve it!  They came out same day and showed up early.  Their technician (Michael) called before to ask if it was ok if he came early.  He explained the problem and then waived the service call fee if you end up needing something fixed.  Michael was polite and presentable.  I will call Huft again if needed!

Huft Home Services were efficient in scheduling an appointment with a two hour window. They texted me the image and name of the technician when the technician was on the way.  Sonny Song was my technician for my toilet leaking problem. He quickly and carefully diagnosed the problem, had no problem with me watching the process and then did a very efficient and careful job fixing the problem. He was exceptional!!!
