Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Never call this company. After$14,000 and a written and signe contract I still don't have everything done. Not to mention the $4000 more my insurance paid as well. I was double charged on my deposit and could not get a return call. I was told she would have to look into it. I asked if she would call me back that day and she danced around the question. Luckily my credit card company called with me on the phone and was told the same thing and she could tell I wasn't going to get a return phone call either and they are fixing that part!!  The next deal was they said they could not do anything without getting the mold out, I understand that. So why did they only do part of ot and not use my whole $5000 my insurance was going to cover?  I expected after spending almost$20,000, that this would go smooth and just be done with. Big name place does not mean excellent service. I also had my !9 year old daughter let them in to clean up and she was very uncomfortable with the way they talked about the mess. Of course its amess the sewer pipe backed up, I thought this was their jobs. Why would you make a customer feel like they did something wrong, doesn't sewer water always look and smell bad?
I had a signed contract that they did not honor and thats bad enough, if I went on to talk about the rest of their customer service and work ethics you would be frazzled.    Please do not make the mistake I made and call them at least get a second opinion if you did already!

I called Roto-Rooter for a quote on damage to my plumbing due to a flooded basement. One guy came out and quoted me 7 to $800, but never followed through and it turned out he had quit. They sent out a second guy who quoted me 13 to 17,000 for a complete repair of the sewer line I did not need. I got a second opinion from another company and sure enough, it cost me $700 to repair. I would not use this company again.

I made an appointment on two different occasions with Belleville roto rooter in the last 10 days.  On both occasions, they called to cancel the appointments 30 to 90 minutes AFTER the quoted time window expired stating they were too busy. Apparently they do this knowing that the average customer will try to find another plumber and end up paying the much higher after hours rates. People call plumbers for a reason and time is of the essence! This is a deceptive business practice. I don't recommend roto rooter.

Follow up: work completed on time today. Problem resolved.

My roommate had someone come out to determine the issue with our hot water heater. We were told it was broken and the cost of replacement would be $2,275 for parts and installation. Thankfully, we made sure to get multiple quotes before scheduling service with Roto-Rooter. It was $1,575 LESS on average. (We were able to get a new, high-quality water heater installed for about 700$). Being two women in their early 20s, it is difficult to deny that it feels like Roto-Rooter was taking advantage of our assumed ignorance.
