Kitchen drain clogged on Saturday morning with 8 people coming to a BBQ tomorrow.  Called for service at 12:00 and by 1:00 the serviceman (Steve B) arrived and by 2:00... problem solved.  Fast, friendly, reasonable rescue!

I called Roto rooter for an emergency service on Saturday around 1 pm because my faucet in the basement was leaking.  I was told that the plumber could not come until the following day in the morning.  I find this unacceptable because they are advertising 24 h / 7 days a week that they can come at 4 am, however, I was calling Saturday in the afternoon and they sent a plumber the following day.  They are falsely advertising 24 / 7 which is

I had raw sewage backing up into my shower along with several other issues that were telltale signs of a main line clog. When the bathtub started backflowing late Thursday night, I didn't know what else to do but call a plumber! Steven came out and even though it was super late, he treated it like his first job of the day. We talked about the issues, he even explained the issues using images and showing me where what was and we talked price beforehand which really stood out to me. He actually ran the auger through multiple times to make sure he was thorough so, while it did take some time, I was so happy he took the time to make sure the job was done right and cared enough to do so. I was seriously so impressed with the entire process and I will absolutely call roto-rooter if I ever have any plumbing issues in the future.

Found water standing over floor drain last night and called Roto-Rooter, who we had used many times previously. I was told they would be there within two hours.  About 45 minutes later a very polite, knowledgable and efficient technician arrived. He diagnosed our problem and repaired it in less than 30 minutes. The 4 stars rather than 5 is because I think charging over $300 for a 30 minute service call (even adding travel time would be under 2 hours) is out of line! That being said, the problem was corrected and there was no water damage to our belongings in basement.

Roto-Rooter contacted me and connected me with the local manager who apologized for the experience and issued me a refund. Planning on giving them another try in the future and will update the review once more when this happens.

We've used Belleville Rotorooter several times now to remove invasive roots from my turn-of-the-century clay plumbing. Steven Brough has been our service technician twice now, and could not be more pleasant to deal with. He's taken his time to make sure our issues are completely resolved and to explain multiple options for remedying our old pipes.

I was charged $380 to snake my basement drain, the plumber got out a ping pong ball size of junk.  The drain works now, but I feel I was overcharged.  I have had other companies in St. Louis do the same thing and it cost 100-200$ tops.  I would not trust this company to give you a fair price.

I had been having clogged bathroom drain problems for several months and finally got tired of plunging and using drain cleaners. I had been putting off calling a plumber, but my brother in law suggested Roto Rooter so I got online to schedule an appointment. I didn't expect there to be any open appointments in the near future, but saw that they could come the next day. I chose the 4-8 pm window, which was also convenient, in that I didn't have to take a half day off of work. Now normally, when there's a window for technicians to show up, it's usually somewhere in the middle of the start and end times. I received a call at 3:30 that the technician was on his way! I booked it home from work, and the van was in my driveway. I apologized for my tardiness, but the technician was understanding. He identified the problem right away and quoted the required services before beginning. He was in and out in one hour and fixed the problem perfectly! He also suggested ways to prevent future issues. This was much appreciated, since I shed about as much as a shaggy dog! It was a little expensive, but I have probably spent at least half that amount on drain cleaners, which would have eventually probably ruined my pipes, costing me way more. To summarize:
Convenient hours, great customer service, and drain issues solved within one hour! Added bonus: no more callouses on my hands from plunging!

Right before the holidays, a clogged drain was not quite the surprise we were looking forward to. Being in a rush, I scheduled an appointment on my iPhone, which made it much easier for me. When the tech showed up - on time, I might add - he was friendly, courteous and extremely clear in explaining what may be happening. After some thorough checking, our clog was gone. Main drain. Called at 8AM resolved by 9:30 AM.  1st let me preface my review by saying I have over 30 yrs experience as a telephoneman. In and out of a variety of houses,neighborhoods, and 1,000's of people over the yrs. I know a bit about working in a persons home. The Roto-rooter guy's name was Steve. He was very professional, and friendly. Very respectful of me and my property. He informed me of all the factors involved in the cause of my plug, (tree roots..lucky me), and how to prevent a repeat of the trouble. I will gladly recommend these guys to anyone,anytime. TOP NOTCH CUSTOMER SERVICE! The receptionist was also very nice and quite pleasant to speak to. Super job folks!

I noticed water coming out of a drain in our basement.  Called Roto-Rooter at 1:00 pm.  By 2:00, the drain was being unclogged by a technician.  The technician explained to me what the problem was with the drain, removed the clog, and then showed me the fixed drain (running water through it).  They explained to me that there is a 6 month guarantee on the drains that were unclogged.  Wonderful service!

Main line drain backed up at 10pm.  We called 8a for appointment and had a tech here within 2-3 hours.  Called another company who didn't have anything for the next 3 DAYS (yeah this can't wait sorry).  Experience was very good.  Call was answered promptly.  I was told I could be taken care of in the next couple hours.  They called (dispatch) an additional 2 times to let me know the status of the tech and 30 minutes prior to arrival.  Jim came out and was very professional.  I had to remove some paneling to get to the access point but other than that went smooth.  Jim was happy to answer my many questions about not only the problem (root infiltration) but also the benefits of an outside access which I currently do not have.  He wasn't trying to sell me one, but told me what further options would be available to me if I had one installed (don't have to be in your basement, can use wider auger line to scrape the whole pipe not just 4 inches which is all they could fit in the basement drain).  Cleaned up, wore shoe protectors (even for the equipment).  Showed me the roots he dug out.  Thanks Jim I appreciate it.  

Only problem: I forgot about the coupons.  Huge screwup on my part.  When sewage is backed up you forget stuff like this.  Don't forget the coupons!  Ahh that's money down the drain!!!

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. My water heater's pilot light kept going out. Roto Rooter wanted to charge me over $500 for a replacement part. The repair guy tried to rush me into a decision because the part was at the warehouse which was about to close. My husband was at work, & I was home alone with the kids. He must have thought I was a clueless damsel in distress. When I asked exactly what part it needed, he told me it was the pilot assembly, but it was hard to explain. I searched pilot assembly online and discovered it's a $33 part at Menards. I called Laclede for a second opinion.  Come to find out, my water heater was fine. The gas meter was bad!

Fast, friendly service that got the job done.  Cleaned up after himself and knew his job.  Completed on time and as promised.

I was very impressed with the entire experience-from making an appointment until the service was completed. They worked with me on a time, arrived promptly, and Ronnie was professional and helpful. I will happily pay a little more for the excellent service.

After my water heater went out at the most inopportune time and I needed piping reworked. I was stuck without a hot shower and needed to find a solution.  I called on a Saturday afternoon and Roto-rooter scheduled someone in Sunday morning.  Such a relief.  We were very fortunate to have Ariel Ruff arrive and not only do a professional job but she explained everything and answered all the needed questions I had. Although my previous plumber did a poor job, she was able to get everything done right. I don't recommend having something plumbed without a qualified person since the cost is so much more to fix a poor job. I can't recommend Ariel enough and would highly recommend her and Roto-rooter to someone who wants the job done right and timely.

I called their office yesterday to see how much they would charge to replace sump pump . A pleasant lady explained that they would send someone to give me a free estimate tomorrow. I confirmed no obligation estimate.
Today a man calls me that he would have someone come over in morning but from today that they have implemented $69/- service fee if I did not have the service done . I reminded him that I ordered yesterday and was informed of for free estimate. He said they are implementing $69/- from today if did not have the service done. I canceled.
This is a unfortunate business when you show how unreliable you are in your practice. Lost time for me.

We had backed up drains and a shower in our basement on a Saturday morning, and when I searched for plumbers open on the weekend, Roto-Rooter came up as the first listing.  We had used them in our old house, so we called them immediately - at 7am.  The receptionist was extremely friendly and we had an appointment window scheduled for 8am-12pm.  Jim, our plumber, called at 7:50am, and arrived around 8:15am.  He was knowledgeable and friendly, fixed all of our problems and checked other lines as well, all for the quoted low price - I had expected a much higher bill since it was a weekend, but was pleasantly surprised!  When Jim left, everything was fixed and clean.  He was excellent, and the job was done by 10:30am.  We will definitely use Roto-Rooter in the future!

My bathroom sink had been clogged and not in use for over 3 weeks. After 2 different plumbers came out and said that my pipe would burst if snaked and the other states that I would have to demo the wall and be charged over $700 to replace it. Finally an experienced tech came out and was able to fix the stubborn clog. Upon his arrival realized that the seal on my toilet was dripping in the basement which was another whammy added to the mix. He was able to fix it the clog without busting the pipe and fix the toilet. I was very pleased with his service, friendliness and professionalism. I am also very happy that I didn't pay $700 to have drain replaced when that wouldn't of even fixed the issue which was the clog. The crazy noise that I was hearing when I flushed the toilet went away and the terrible nasty smell.  I am very relieved and very happy with the service. Thanks again Jim from roto rooter!!

We experienced a root clog in our main pipe on evening. We called Rooter Rooter and they sent a guy out within 2 hours.

Three weeks later we had a soft clog. We called the company and they send out a second guy. The second guy was super professional and very nice. He cleared the pipe at no charge since it was within the 6 month warranty.

Worth the price for the quick convenance and piece of mind.

I had Don come to install a new faucet in the bathroom.  He did the same job in 2011 in the master bath, and both times he did a fantastic job and kept me very informed about the services and costs.  He is very polite and friendly and even took time to pay attention to the dog!
We have used Roto Rooter several times and never consider calling anyone else for our plumbing needs.  Have always been 100% satisfied.

All is better now. Kitchen sink would drain into basement. I called 8am Saturday morning and a technician was at my home by 11am. Awesome service. Fixed the problem in less then an hour and I got to use a discount I found online.

Robert was very professional and knowledgeable when fixing my garbage disposal and explaining what he was doing.  He also gave me a tip on how to keep it running smoothly by grinding ice once a week.

Roto-Rooter didn't hesitate to have someone over (after hours) as soon as they could. We were pleased with how quickly they responded.

For the most part, our property was well took care of and the gentleman walked us through the process of the services we would be receiving.

My only complaint is that the gentleman did not have booties on his shoes (probably forgot) while running the snake through our pipes. He stood in sewage then later proceeded to walk up the carpeted stairs in his soaked shoes... We don't wear shoes in the house, so the carpet (which was clean and not damaged by the backed up pipe) was now contaminated and needed to be cleaned/replaced.

We had a clogged kitchen drain and after almost killing ourselves with a combination of chemicals that didn't work we called Roto-Rooter. Ariel came out within 2 hours of my call. She was great. She was actually training someone and my wife was so impressed with her skills she couldn't quit talking about her. I highly recommend RR. This is the second time we have used them and they have always shown a high level of professionalism and skill.

This is a follow-up to the review I posted a couple of months ago. This morning, I woke up to the sewer line backed up again. I called a different company from RotoRooter who ran a camera down the line and showed me thick tree roots in the line all the way to the street, a problem RR did not diagnose. The charge for opening the drain was $75 less than RR. He then ran a jet line through and fixed the problem and guaranteed his work for a full year. My experience today strengthens my conviction that RR is substandard. Strongly recommend against them.

(RotoRooter St. Charles, MO) We were in need of an emergency repair to our water line to the refrigerator - new one being installed and the old shutoff valve wouldn't work! They were available right away - thank goodness! The tech showed up right on time, was very professional, explained exactly what was wrong with the current equipment and what needed to be done to fix the problem - and about how long it would take.  The work was done in the specified time period, the tech was polite and cleaned up after himself and our new water line works great! I'm positive I paid a premium for the work - RR tends to be a little pricier than a local, independent plumber - but I'm happy with the work and the problem is solved. Bottom line: I'm happy and would call them again if necessary.

Also, the woman I spoke to when I called couldn't have been any nicer - understood the problem, was able to get me scheduled right away and was really kind. Great customer service! That's a big deal to me.

Dallas & Raymond Roto-Rooter  techs arrived before the service time. I explained the problem at the basement floor drain. They examined the drain etc. Fully explained the situation & what needed to be done. The estimate was a bit high compared to two others we talked to. But in all fairness it did include two drain service, enzyme service etc. Although it was more expensive it was worth it. They could not have been more through, professional & efficient. Upon completion, they explained all the had done. Double checked that everything was draining & no back-up. Told us about writing a review. I have used another  company at my other house couple yrs ago.. They were ok but the total service was not as good.I live in Maryland Heights, Mo.

Called and a technician was in my home within 90 minutes. Quickly and carefully cleaned out my stopped up kitchen drain. Technician was very courteous and clearly knew his business. Was in and out of the house within an hour. Would definitely use Roto Rooter again. Great service.

Rarely do you get a large corporation that impresses, but Roto-Rooter did exactly that.   Fast, professional, courteous.  Had a clogged toilet thanks to our puppy letting his toy go down the commode.  Originally was quoted a high number by the central dispatch unit so was understandably nervous. However, the local tech called me and spoke with me and said I could save money going another way.  RotoRooter sent out a technician, Dallas, who was very kind, honest and helpful. We ended up getting our toilet fixed for a reasonable cost.  Couldn't be more pleased with the service.

We had a clogged garbage disposal. I made an appointment online with Roto-Rooter. They confirmed right away with a message that a technician would arrive around 8 the next morning. We got a call about 30 minutes ahead of the appointment that he was on the way. Matt Robb arrived on time and fixed the problem in a few minutes. He was very professional and courteous. It was a very pleasant experience and surprisingly easy.

We usually try to fix minor plumbing issues on our own, but 14 trips to the hardware store and a weekend or more is usually what ends up happening to resolve something simple.  So, with no free time, the minor issues that we didn't want to deal with were starting to add up.  We had Roto-Rooter out and they knocked 5 issues out in an afternoon.  A couple of them ended up being more complicated than we ever could have handled on our own.  This is definitely the way to go!

They did a good job and the service technician was patient, cooperative, and efficient.  It's just these things are so expensive.

Plumber was very nice and professional.  Took care of my clogged drain within 30 minutes and left the area clean when he left.  Was a bit pricier than the other companies, but they couldn't come the same day.

Our plumber/technician, Ivan, was very friendly and courteous. He thoroughly explained to us what the issue was, how it was caused, what he's going to do to clean it up, and how to maintain our drain/pipes herein. While it was a bit more expensive than we thought it would be, it was well worth the stress relief of seeing the drain flow freely again. Thank you, Ivan!

We had a backed up drain in our basement, and after a quick search online, I called Roto Rooter. I was able to book my appt online and received a confirmation notice via email almost immediately. As promised, they called about 30 minutes before our plumber, Gary, arrived, and it was well within the window they'd promised (and that I requested).

Gary was pleasant and kind when he arrived. I walked him through the issue and showed him where everything was and he got right to work! Within about 20 minutes, he had everything cleared up and then talked me through what he'd done. He showed me a couple of things we could do to prevent future situations like this and after taking care of the final details bid me farewell.

I could not be more pleased!!

We had Emanuel come out to do some work under our sink.  It's nothing you really WANT to have done, but Emanuel came out, did the work, and was nice.  He finished the work faster than expected without issue.

These folks are awesome.  They videoed the entire sewer line.  I could see the broken crock with my own eyes!  It was a mess and needed to be removed.  They did that in just one day, from the beginning to the smoothing out the whole front yard.  They even offered to seed and straw the yard, but there was no need.  Most of the grass is just fine.  All my little trees were untouched.  Then after all was done they videoed again to be certain everything would work perfectly.  They are true craftsmen.  I am delighted with the results.  All homebuyers should have Roto-Rooter video the drains before you buy.  Thanks to all for a job well done and at a fair price.  I now have plumbers to help me maintain my new home should I need it.

My refrigerator hose began leaking onto my wood kitchen floors , living carpet, and the basement ceiling.  ROTO-ROUTER  responded quickly, and professionally took care of my problem. I was physically unable to go down the stairs to the basement.  The plastic hose had leaked and the turn off valve failed. I now have copper tubing and a proper turn off valve behind my refrigerator. As a result of their quick service I was saved from expensive water damage.  THANK YOU, ROTO ROUTER!   The plumber, keith, was very courteous, explained  the quote clearly. I felt the cost and service was much better than other plumbing agencies I have had.

Don with Roto Rooter is AMAZING and did a great job not only replacing our pressure regulator, but he also explained the problem with our water flow and everything that he did to fix the problem.

One can get a better price elsewhere.  I found Roto-Rooter to be excessively expensive.  Roto-Rooter wanted $469 for a very minor service as compared to $253 quoted by another local plumbing company with the same charge-by-the-job (not by the hour) business model.  Save yourself the $70 trip-charge and call someone else.

My tech was great, made pleasant conversation and even brought my recycling bin back to my house from the street.

Great service with very short notice. I called early on a Saturday morning (and a holiday weekend) needing a broken sump pump replaced for a rental house. Michael Harris (tech #4584) immediately responded and took care of the issue. He not only installed a new sump pump, but proactively suggested that I replace the discharge pipe that was too small for the property. I'm grateful he took care of the problem fast which avoided water damage to the property and my resident's belongings.

Michael also had the courtesy to discuss the recommended solutions and financial investment privately with me - out of earshot of my residents. This was much appreciated as most vendors create awkward situations when residents hear/think they are getting something (new carpet, new appliance, etc.) when instead a simple repair is all that is needed. It was nice to collaborate on a solution first, then tell the residents together.

I had to call on the 4th of July unfortunately. Fortunately, they sent someone out within a very short time frame. Bryan was very knowledgeable and he was upfront about our situation. He informed me about things that he knew would need to be done and problems that could present themselves once he got started. He let me know what was going on the entire time and told me what needed to be done in the near future to keep a well working sewage system. I thought he was helpful and made me feel more at ease about my situation.

Nick arrived was enthusiastic and in a nice uniform.  He was knowledgeable, effecient and represented the company very well.

So, we have known about our old house's antiquated plumbing for years. When we had a bigger than usual problem crop up on Friday night, I bit the bullet and called the professionals!
Roto-Rooter scheduled our procedure, and then called back to re-schedule it for a later date. Kind of a bummer, but this was sort of expected.
Monday morning Roto-Rooter called, said the tech would be there in 30 minutes. Right on time Mike showed up. Assessed our situation. And, after some minor revisions to our problem child, he had a complete and quality repair done!
The relief is palpable, and we thank Mike and Roto-Rooter for the fast quality job performance!  We will recommend them for all of our plumbing needs!

Yes, I am writing this on Christmas day.  My wife took a shower, and came out and said the bathtub wouldnt drain.  YIKES...oh no..not today..no way will we get anyone today, and tomorrow is saturday, then sunday, and we have a septic system..oh aaaaaarrrrgggghhhhh!!!!!

So I called roto rooter figuring there was no way they would come out today, but I felt I needed to show my wife I could take charge of the situation.  Well they answered the phone and after a few brief questions told me that they could have someone out within 4 hours.  I was happy, my wife was happy, our friend from NJ was happy.  Thirty minutes later, I got a call and the tech was on his way..WOW!!  Steven showed up, assessed the situation, and got to work.  In less than an hour he was on his way and we were able to go about our water business...flush, shower, run the dish washer, the washing machine, etc.  You dont realize how much you use water until you cant use it.  

Steve was way cool, he was professional, personable, knowledgeable and just an all around nice guy.  He had been working until 1am on Christmas eve, and had already put in about 6 hours on Christmas day, and still had more calls.  He didnt lose his cool, was not upset about all these hours on the major holiday of the year.  He took care of us, and that was just what we wanted.  I am amazed, and by the way, he made me look good in front of my wife..give me 5 Steven!!

I had an issue with the sewer line after traditional business hours for most places. They came out within 2 hours and fixed the problem within an hour of arrival. They charged about the same price as any other company in my local area, but a much quicker response time.

This was my first time using Roto Rooter. Joel (Tech 2317) was sent to do the work. He was prompt, nice and very professional. He took care of the problem quickly and I was pleased with the work. If I ever need plumbing services again, I will definitely request Joel.

Had service on my floor drain on Oct 8, 2018. After 2 attempts at snaking, the technician determined the pipes may have offset underground and told me to apply for St. Peter's sewer lateral program. As a last stitch effort he attempted to snake it one more time and told me he was successful, drain unclogged. I was charged $450. Of course either was elated that it was resolved and I didnt have to pay thousand for PVC replacement pipe through the city of st. Peter's. Behold 2 days later, I go to do laundry and after one load the floor drain back up worse than it had before Roto Rooter unclogged the drain. I called immediately to have service setup, as they offered a six-month warranty under the original service provided. I was given a 2-hour window from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. for a technician to arrive. Come 7:30 that night, nobody called me for an update or to tell me they had been running behind. I expressed my frustration, they told me they were busy, and that somebody would be out the next day between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m..... well it is currently the next day going on 3 and still no roto rooter...would never recommend this company to anybody. Very disappointing service and awful customer service from dispatch.

Kendrick was my technician.    He took extra time to really figure out the problem.    He also explained to me how to contact my local city and showed me how to tell earlier indications of a problem.  He went above and beyond.     I appreciate Roto Rooter being able to come out the same day as my sewer problem took place.   Plus, if you check in on this app you can save $60.    Can't beat that.     I thought the $235 price tag was very fair.      You saved my weekend.     Not having to take time off work was invaluable to me.

I recently had a sewer back up in my basement this past July.   I have always used Roto rooter for drain services and have had great service.  Again the service was excellent.  Of note the edging on my basement steps was damaged from the worker bringing the drain cleaner machine up and down the steps....dings in the trimming.  

I have never used the damage restoration service.   They were prompt with responding to do the work, but I had to make calls about fans/dehumidifier being picked up and also trash that was removed from my basement was thrown/placed outside my side door on a sidewalk leading to my back yard.  Subsequently it blocked the walkway and I could not access my trash cans for trash pickup.  Also the haphazard way the items were placed, spilled over into my neighbors yard which made it difficult for him to cut his grass.  There is also a piece of flooring still in the basement that was not removed and the personal items that I was told would be removed at the end of the job are still in my basement.  

My rating is a combination of the drain cleaning services which were great and the damage restoration services which were ok.

They were also quick to send me a bill when it was also sent to my insurance company.

I needed a plumber quickly to fix a garbage disposal.  I called Roto-Rooter at 8:30 this morning and they  had a repairman at my house by 11:00.  Both the person I spoke to on the phone and the repariman that came out were beyond courteous and helpful and the problem was fixed quickly and at a very reasonable price.  I will absolutely call them in the future.
