Jake the Plumber

A leaking waterline under my kitchen sink was attended to by this service. Fees upon fees! $205/ hour plus driving fee of $89. The assigned plumber solved the problem, which was more complicated than estimated. (Spent too much time talking with me than working, especially since he was being paid hourly!) Good work but I will look for a better $ estimate somewhere else, especially as someone on a fixed income!

I had a new water heater installed by Jake the Plumber. They did the job the day after I called, which was great since my 30 year old existing one was leaking and I was going out of town. Stew did a great job, and the price was reasonable. Highly recommended!

We thought we had a water leak in our hot water heater (HWH) last Friday.  We checked into a few plumbers and decided to get a quote from Jake The Plumber.

I'd read, and discovered by phone message at the shop, that I could send messages and photos for a quick estimate for replacement if needed. I sent my info and photos of the HWH currently in my home.

Within eight minutes, Deb responded and asked for some more specific details.  After sending all my HWH details, she advised a plumber would contact me by phone with an estimate based on my HWH and needs.

That same afternoon, one of the plumbers called and left me a detailed message with an estimate and timeframe.  Jake the Plumber was very prompt and responsive to my inquiries.

Although we discovered we didn't have a leak (condensation due to extreme weather), we appreciated the prompt response from both Deb and the plumbers.  We would consider Jake for any plumbing needs in the future for sure!!

I discovered a burst pipe late Thursday night and contacted Jake the Plumber early Friday morning.  I got a call back five minutes after they opened and John arrived 30 minutes later.  He fixed the leak and did a quick scan of the rest of my pipes, answered LOTS of my questions, and completed the work quickly and efficiently.  I will definitely be following up with them for additional repair work!

Very nice!  I scheduled a new water heater to be installed by Jake's however I got lucky and fixed my water heater myself by getting a new sensor and resetting the unit.  I had a different company come out originally but they couldn't do what I did ((?????)).  I called Adam at Jake's to cancel the install and no problem.  By the way Jake's was $400 less expensive than the other company!

We just had a leak in our basement, and had no idea where it was coming from. We called about four different plumbers last night, hoping that someone would get back to us by morning. Jake was the first one to return our call. He came when he said he would. Both he and his employee Osiris were neat and professional. He took the time to explain in detail what the problem was, what needed to be done, what it would cost, and why it cost that much. His prices were reasonable; he gave us an inexpensive option, and a more expensive, but more effective, option. (We took the latter.) We also consulted Jake on another less pressing plumbing issue. He gave twenty minutes of his time to look at the area and give us a recommendation--with the same meticulous detail. I would certainly use his services again.

They did a great job clearing my drain but left my cabinet sticking out of the wall. I had moved it out before they came so they could access the hose clamp to get at the drain and it was just put back together sticking out of the wall. Called to get it fixed, was declined.

What began as a frustrating experience turned into excellent customer service. Long story short, Adam at the office was very helpful and professional. My money was 100% refunded. I'll consider them in the future for any plumbing needs!

We had a great experience with Jake the Plumber! They helped us replace our old water heater and softerner with a reasonable price and great service. Jake really knows what he's doing. He diagnoses problems and finds solutions in a very professional way. His followup inspection was also helpful. He was also nice enough to help us fix a couple other small issues on the side. Definitely recommend!

Needed repair work for a leak in copper piping.  Was able to accommodate same day service and within a few hours of calling, technician showed up and completed the task.

Kudos to Andrew, was very polite and even took off his shoes when entering the home.  It's the small gestures that are important.  I felt that was very courteous of him to do so.

Will recommend Jake's and will use them again.

My water heater quit working and Jake contacted me within minutes of my initial phone call.  He walked me through trouble shooting over the phone and helped me to get it back up and running without making a service call.  That is AWESOME in my book!!

This guy is a throwback to the savvy, straight shootin' tradesmen of yesteryear.  I contacted him to get a second opinion after one of the big-name shops told me I had a gas leak and needed to buy one of their furnaces immediately. Jake did some testing, and said that there was a leak, but that it was add only 3 ppm, and it Hass to be up around 150 ppm before you would be concerned. I really appreciate that kind of honesty and will be sticking with Jake for any plumbing needs going forward!

Had my boiler serviced by Kelley from Jake the Plumber today...very happy with his work, and with the overall experience with Jake the Plumber!

Kelley was very friendly and knowledgeable, and didn't seem to mind me being around, watching and learning...educating me a bit, answering questions. Also very friendly with our kids. Got our boiler back up and running after some efficient troubleshooting.

After having called around to a lot of the other plumbing and heating companies, I was very turned off by the few bigger ones charging a hefty service call / travel fee (ranging from $68 to $149)...just to come out to see what's wrong / give you a price!...and then hearing in reviews they quote very hefty, flat-rate, non-transparent fees. I liked, first off, that Jake the Plumber charges hourly -- then you know how the pricing works before getting into it...and, for me, I don't mind being around to make sure they work efficiently, not working up the clock.

To that end, I REALLY liked that they gave me the option to text or email photos of my boiler / the issues needing addressed, and Kelley was able to call me the evening before service to ask me more detailed questions and get an idea of what was up, giving me a ballpark range of how many labor hours the job should cost. They do have a $68 travel fee (halved when you commit to service)...but with that call from Kelley, I at least had an idea of what I was getting into -- enough to feel comfortable committing with the travel fee beforehand.

He was running a little bit behind schedule after having to track down a unique part for my boiler but called before he was actually late to let me know, so I was never wondering (all fine with me).

The only thing I would suggest / appreciate in the future using Jake the Plumber, is that they have a detailed list of parts on their invoices -- was left to Kelley's memory when I asked him how much all the parts were. But, all sounded about right, so I took his word for it.

Will definitely use one of their free quote Friday's for a new sump pump quote in the near future!

What the hell kind of business is this?
Wants me to take a photo of my toilette and send to them, they will review it and then give me a call for an estimate. So, they won't come out for an assessment to see what the problem is. And how the hell can someone take a photo of something when the problem is not visible?
Called them again after a week, they told me that they had received my photos but that they are still under review and will call me when done.
Anyways, it's been two months now and nope, no calls, no text, nothing..
What a joke.

Great team to work with! Would recommend and would use again! Very professional and took their time to explain everything. A bathroom sink was flagged during an inspection, had an s trap that needed to be converted over to a p trap. After calling 7 different plumbers! These guys were the only ones that came through to even bid on it! Would like to thank Stu, Tim, Brandon, Paul and Jake for an awesome job! Very knowledgeable and very efficient. Even helped sort out an issue with the city who kept saying there was no permit pulled, when there was one. Helped me pass my inspection with no issues.

We are in the market for furnace repair and or replacement and I contacted Jakes, they responded immediately and were very professional and helpful. Unfortunately my job is urgent and they did not have a tech available (busy time of year) but I want to give them five stars for promptly and professionally responding to me. None of the other companies I contacted have responded to me yet, and I sent out my inquiries over 2 hours ago.

Monday night... No hot water.
Tuesday morning... Yelp! Help! I need a plumber. ‍Jake the Plumber had good reviews and seamed like a real person... (and a real plumber)! They answered the phone and had a plumber willing to stay late to so we could have hot water back on today.  I didn't expect same day service, but you never know how much you need bad you need a hot shower, till it's cold! Price was about $1200, which included the water heater , permits, removal and disposal of the old tank. I wouldn't say cheep... but I feel like they did a good job, at a fair price. Plumbing sucks!

Most excellent and efficient service. They managed to show horn the repair of my leak into their already full schedule. Stewart was friendly and took care to avoid increasing the mess the leak had caused. He explained what needed doing and was clear on the cost. He also shared tips on how to avoid a repeat of the situation. I recommend Jake the Plumber wholeheartedly.

We needed a plumber for some repairs and replacements. I expressed there was some urgency for a repair, and we already bought the toilet and faucet that we wanted installed. But unfortunately here's how the timeline went:

04/08 - I called for a quote/estimate. I provided all of the details, and then I texted all of the photos as instructed.
04/09 - I emailed all of the photos again.
04/13 - I emailed again asking when I could expect a quote.
04/13 - I also texted asking when I could expect a quote.

And then I never heard from them, so I went with someone else.

Called and set up an appointment to replace an outdoor faucet with Jake the Plumber after reading positive reviews online. The owner called and said they had to reschedule due to a medical emergency with one of his plumbers.  He apologized profusely and said that they would make it right, which they did.  Work was scheduled for the next day, done quickly and professionally.  It's rare to see a business that is so conscientious about keeping appointments and being professional.  From my first call to plumber cleaning up after work was done, everything was professional.  Jake is now the plumber in my contacts.

Really a great service provider and very honest about work being performed. I had to have two separate service calls due to an issue with water shut-off in my building and both times the service was great. They were quick, neat and clean with a noticable effort to make sure they left everything cleaner than they found it.

The plumbers (Steve and Stu) showed up on time and were very proactive in asking a lot of questions about the job to make sure they could be in and out without having to charge me extra. Both plumbers displayed expert knowledge and acumen in their craft.

I would definitely call them again for a repair or recommend them.

I highly recommend Jake the Plumber! We had some issues with our facet not running and they were able to be on the phone and walk me through the steps on how to fix it! Was such an easy fix! And they saved me about $100 bucks. Any plumber could of sent a technician to fix it and just went ahead to charge. But not Jake the plumber . This was a very educational experience... Now I will know what to do if this happened again. Thanks Jake!! I will definitely use you again for the future!!

Their quote seemed excessive (8 hours, $2,000) based on a photo they asked me to submit of a leak. It also took several days to even get a quote. I went with a different company.

We were in dire straits with temps and humidity ready to climb sky high and our AC on the fritz.  Kelley from Jake the Plumber came same day!  He was knowledgeable, friendly and was able to do complete diagnostics that led to figuring out the issue (in time for the heatwave!).  He also helped us with info about our heating system that will mean we'll not run into problems this winter.  Beyond the call of duty but he was happy to be helpful about that, too, since he was here and seeing the system.  We're definitely going to make Jake our go-to for heating/AC and plumbing issues.

We had the pleasure of working with John from Jake the Plumber. He took great care of us and our plumbing - even taking time to explain what was wrong and how he was fixing it. We felt like we knew him almost immediately, we trusted him. We would highly recommend Jake the Plumber, and especially John, for any plumbing needs!!!

Left msgs to request service. Nvr ret'd calls, even to say Too busy to take on new work. Have come to expect w/contractors in recent years.

We had a great experience with Jake the Plumber.  We're the owners of a 1920's bungalow in the Uptown area and we let a laundry list of minor but annoying plumbing issues pile up.  

Our upstairs shower had been having some water pressure issues and was some of the oldest plumbing left in the house.  Jake installed new lines & flushed our system and our water pressure is 100x better than it was before.  We also had an additional tap installed outside, and some small repairs to a couple of leaking faucet heads.  He was even able to save us some money by creating a custom fitting rather than replacing a whole faucet assembly!  All in all, Jake was quick and tidy, and he taught us how to do some basic repairs.  We're thrilled with our plumbing now, but should we have any plumbing issues in the future we would not hesitate to reach out to Jake!
