Plumbing is where he got our started, but now have expanded to include air conditioning and heating repair and installation. When Dean isn't working on his business, he enjoys spending time with his and working out. He coaches his kids basketball teams and travel all over the country for their tournaments.

SCAM NOTICE!! First off, thank you to Yelp and all the reviewers who wrote Dean's reviews.  You helped save me from committing more money to this company!
My tankless water heater recently stopped working and was flashing an error signal on the digital screen.  The unit constantly kept trying to light itself but it wouldn't stay on.  In the past I've fixed a similar problem myself on my furnace, so I had an idea of what the problem was.  Being a Dean's Club member (and the fact that they installed the unit 5 years ago), I called the company thinking that, minimally, there would be no charge to at least come out and confirm my diagnosis.  However, when the plumber got to my home, he told me there would be a $270 charge because of where the water heater was positioned!  After spending about 45 mins testing the machine, he recommended I buy an entirely new unit AND water softener to prevent this from happening again!  Reluctantly, I agreed to get the unit replaced and told him to schedule the work.  When the plumber left, the unit was flashing a DIFFERENT error signal than the original one, indicating something more serious.  After reading reviews on Yelp, I decided to get a 2nd opinion from a different company the next day.  Not only was the 2nd plumber able to fix the original problem, he also discovered that the reason I was getting the new error signal was because the first guy had purposely unplugged a small wire to make me think the unit was seriously broken.  I immediately called Dean's and canceled the replacement project and my unit is working fine with no issues.  Ironically, The first plumber from Dean's called me within an hour of my canceling the project to ask if he could come back out to my house to fix something that he'd left undone.  I assumed it was to fix the problem that he sabotaged the day before so I told him no.  DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Deans charged me over $500 to replace a 10 inch section of corroded copper pipe in my basement. They agreed to call me before proceeding with repairs when I called them, and to NOT just ask my wife who was home and unfamiliar with the problem, but then they just went ahead and did the repair without asking me anyway. The most expensive 10 inch section of 3/4 inch copper pipe out there costs $30. The pipe was very easy to access and the labor took less than a half hour. When I asked them to explain charging me $500, the exact response was, Well, we're not the cheapest option out there. No kidding. I'll never use Dean's again and I've tried to save as many people as I can from getting screwed over by them as well.

No complete opposite of outrageously professional after rescheduling our service two different times on the date that they were finally supposed to come out they gave us the car and told us that they don't service our area. Save your time and your money goes somewhere else not to mention the lady on the phone was very rude

A complete mess. The Dean's Club doesn't actually cover any routine maintenance, just the diagnostic. They are very likely to invent or at least exaggerate issues to try to spur expensive repairs. And they auto-renewed the Club membership without warning, even after I told them to leave me alone. Don't trust them with your money or with your appliances.

High pressure sales tactics & OVERPRICED! If you're not knowledgable about whatever you're calling them to fix OR if you're not rolling in cash, don't use Dean's.  They take advantage of your lack of knowledge and try to rip you off big time.  I was in such a hurry to get my hot water heater working again after it went out (and it was on a Friday, so I didn't want to go without hot water for the entire weekend- first world problems- I KNOW!), so when Dean's was able to come out I was so relieved.  Problem was, my water heater was only 3 years old, and still under warranty- BUT, the warranty only covers the parts (the first Dean's repairman told me they charge $300/hr labor!), and the two elements that went out were only worth about $30.  The repairman also replaced the two thermostats, again- the parts were not expensive.  He quoted me $900 to do the repair!  I was flabbergasted!  The water heater only cost me $1200 INSTALLED a few years back!  I was able to talk him down to $700, but was still sick to my stomach thinking of all the money I was paying him.  If I didn't decide to go with this $700 repair, I'd still have to pay them the $80 trip charge, and- like I said before, I wouldn't have hot water for at least a few days while waiting for a different plumber to come out.  So, because I hadn't done my research before calling Dean's, I told him to go ahead with the repair.  I felt sick for weeks afterwards thinking about how much they ripped me off.  But, at least, I thought- this repair would be covered by a one year warranty (because, as part of my talking him down to $700 from $900, I agreed to sign up for their monthly plan- which was only $4.25/month and I figured I'd just cancel it after a few months anyway).  Fast forward 6 weeks- hot water heater stops working AGAIN!  Repairman #2 finds out that the bottom element in my water heater was once again completely corroded.  After 6 weeks!  He blamed it on our city's hard water and showed me the several inches of sediment sitting on the bottom of the water heater.  Yes, our city has hard water, but for a brand new element to last only 6 weeks?!?  While repairman #2 was here, I was able to get a hold of a friend of mine who is also a plumber and explained the situation to him.  He said that repairman #1 didn't properly flush out the water heater.  The first set of elements the water heater came with lasted three years, so the only reason the bottom element on the second set didn't, was because it was sitting in the sediment at the bottom of the water heater.  If repairman #1 would've flushed it out properly, the element would've lasted *at least* a few years, like the initial elements had.  So... I went back downstairs and told the Deans guy that I just wanted him to replace the bottom element, since the repair was under warranty.  He informed me that it was NOT under warranty because the water in my town was so hard!   I couldn't believe it!  I raised my voice, threatened to call the BBB, and went back upstairs to call my plumber friend again.  After about 20 min, the repairmen came upstairs to talk to me- he said that he talked to his manager and the best course of action for us was to buy a brand new water heater and a water softener so the sediment build-up wouldn't happen again.  Only about $4000.  And let me repeat- this water heater was only 3 years old to begin with, and was still under warranty!  Long story short, I asked him why he couldn't clean the sediment out- he said that wasn't possible- I needed to buy a new water heater.  (So in effect, if I buy a new car, and 3 years later it needs new brakes, a guy like him would tell me that I actually need to buy a new car rather than get it repaired.)  I freaked out at hims some more, he called his manager back and they finally decided that they would replace the bad element today, but the repair would no longer be covered under warranty because of my hard water.  Again, he didn't flush the sediment out of my water heater. I had another plumber out yesterday (not from Dean's)- he was able to flush a lot of the sediment out of the water heater, and he showed me how I can do it in the future to keep it cleaned out so it will last the full 10 years+, and he gave me info for a reputable company to buy a water softener from.  I paid this plumber less than $150, and the water softener will cost about $800 installed from the company he referred me to.  So I'll end up paying less than $1000, vs what Dean's wanted me to do which was buy a brand new water heater and water softener from them for almost four times that amount.

I wrote about this situation on my neighborhood's nextdoor.com page, and not surprisingly- I had quite a few other people comment that they'd had similar experiences with Dean's.  So if you want my opinion- STAY AWAY.  There are so many more local, reputable companies to choose from who will be honest and not overcharge you.

Would give them 1 star, but giving them 2 stars because their technician was very professional and friendly.  

Needed a toilet snaked and they wouldn't give me a bid over the phone.  I had this happen once before years ago and paid $150-$250 to have it repaired.  Dean's came out and charged me a $59 trip fee just to tell me it would be $740.  Never again will I agree to hire anyone that won't give me some kind of an estimate on the phone.

The most inept con job business in the Twin Cities!  I'm an Elite reviewer on Yelp and have never seen a Twin Cities business with more than 55* negative 1-star reviews!
I've worked in Advertising, sales and marketing for 25 years.
This is a classic bait and switch.
You go to their website- it's all biased 5-star reviews.   All MINNESOTA NICE- from their seemingly helpful customer service phone calls down to the last 5 guys to come out here to fix my 30+ year water heater.  I should have done my research and got at least two other bids.   THE OVERCHARGED AND INEPTITUDE!

After almost half dozen visits, they can't replace or fix the lemon  of a water heater they scammed me on...cheap equipment, parts and inept labor..,filing credit dispute and hiring a lawyer for a full refund!

SHOP AROUND AND GET AT LEAST 2 other bids- they are notorious for overcharging!

GO BACK TO TRADE SCHOOL AND LEARN YOUR FREAKIN TRADE JOBS...utter morons.
And don't play that con-Job at the end of the day where you pull out your little iPad and say if you give me five stars, it's like a tip.   How do I know that you did a good job when two weeks later everything sucks again.

Scheduled a full drain line inspection along with all other lines with their online special. No where in their 'special' did they mention the addition of a $59 travel charge.  Ok - fine. Then, the inspection is of a property we are having inspected to purchase - so whole experience has to coordinate realtors, current owner and us. They show up on Sunday for the appointment without the right equipment.  When I called to find out how this happened they wanted me to appreciate that they hadn't charged me for them wasting our time!!! They are very unprofessional and unaware of their own team members equipment, abilities or capabilities.  I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for any of your plumbing needs.  They don't care about customer service and the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.  My time is more valuable than the few dollars I might save with their service.

Called on a Friday for a clogged kitchen sink. They could not get me in until the following Monday, so I made an appointment for their 8-12 window.  As I work 35-40 minutes from my home, I took the day off.  They called me at 9:37am and told me I was next on the list, they were just waiting for the tech to clear their first appointment and they would give me a courtesy call. I waited until 1:20pm and had to call them. She stated the status was still the same and they would  give me a courtesy call.  I asked if the tech was going to be able to make it today, she told me to go along with my day as normal and they would give me a courtesy call. I reminded her I took the day off and again asked if he was going to make it today to have her only repeat the courtesy call statement. ‍ at 2:46pm she called me to tell me they weren't coming and that she could get me in tomorrow.  Things happen was their excuse. Okay...I know things happen but ANYTIME during the day she could have looked for another plumber to fit me in or at least called me and advised that the first job was bigger than they thought and asked  if I would like to reschedule.  But they waited until the end of the day so I had little to no options to get it taken care of that day. Even when I called back to speak with one of their Managers, they were all gone for the day.  VERY disappointed  

Wish I would have looked at all the other reviews on here first.  Now I'm a Yelp member and user.

Short but important update.

I called to have them do a replacement for a washer / dryer. I had been quoted 140 from sears but they didn't have availability for a few days so I called deans as they are usually quicker.

Same day were able to make the appointment. On the phone I gave EVERY detail so the tech would be ready. Frankly - it isnt that complicated. There are only two types of dryers and for electric there are two plugs.

The tech called me when he got there and started telling me I was missing a whip (why is it so hard to just call it a power cable??) and then in vague terms told me it was

more complex with some things with different voltages and stuff (that's a quote)

...and then tells me he will have to call me back.

30 min later i get a call and a quote for $450. That's to unhook a washer dryer and hook a new one up. Nothing else. not removing/recycling the old one. not delivering the new one.

I'm not licensed and Minnesota has a law that says you cant turn off a gas line without a licence (this is the same as turning off the water on a garden hose). So I guess I'm paying for that because this is ridiculous.

Bad communication between dispatcher and service guy and the service guy couldn't explain anything to me.

I'm normally all for supporting small business but this is simply ridiculous. Sorry Deans - 5 years a customer and now I'm out.

I was relieved when Deans returned my call on a Sunday evening and could come out the next day to get my sink and dishwasher working after my husband tried to hook it up after putting in new cabinets and countertops. The trip charge was $49. I didn't know until they got here that it would cost $600 to put in 2 new shut off valves and a new p trap and only 45 minutes in time. At the end of the appointment the technician tried to sell me a $7000 tankless water heater. He spent just as much time trying to talk me into this as he did fixing my issue. I would not recommend this company.

Grifters. Recommended a sub par and overpriced water heater replacement. They also strongly recommended a cold air intake in order to pass inspection. Found a different provider with a superior rated water heater and services that cost less than half Dean's cost. Also, the city inspector eventually confirmed that a cold air intake was not necessary. Very annoying that they plastered Dean's decals all over my furnace that are impossible to remove.

Called looking for a plumber to do a pretty simple job.  Got a salesman disguised as a plumber looking to sell a very large and unnecessary job. Lesson learned.  I will say, they do a good job with marketing and technology

WAY overpriced!  I signed up for a Dean's club one year membership:  On 12/15/2017, they came for a routine maintenance & checkup of the plumbing.  They gave me an estimate of $10,926.66 of work that they highly recommended: including:
- New water heater (my 3 year old water needed minor-routine maintenance, but they thought I should replace it)
- Two new toilets: $974.88 EACH (they said the water savings would pay for them in a year an a half:  but my annual water bill is only $400/year)
- New Water Softener: $2,940.30
Long story short: they can do good work, BUT THEIR PRICES ARE HIGHWAY ROBBERY!

Ridiculous pricing... I called than to get my drains cleaned out.  The before the tech gave me the price he mentioned that the cap of the cleanout looked like it would be trouble to open, also he pointed out that it could take up to 6 hours to do the job, than he gave me the price.  After I told him that it was too much he went to his vehicle to call his manager... Honestly I think they tried every trick in the book to get me to pay.. I found a local guy who got the job done in 30 minutes for a third of the price...

Stay away from this rip off company. They charge you $69 just to come out and give you a bid. The bid was $320 to open up a simple clogged drain. I said that's twice as much as a competitor bid. They have a $99 clean drain on the internet. This is very misleading to say the least. I told them to leave. I was still charged $69 for the damn outrageous bid. I would rate them a zero if I could. I called to complain. They don't care, just move on to the next sucker. STAY AWAY!!!!!

We had an outstanding experience with Brad from Dean's Professional Plumbing. Brad was such a joy to work with at our business, White Bear Meadery. He did all of our rough in and finished plumbing work for our business. Other plumbing companies turned down the work for this job that Brad made short work of. Nothing went as planned from the minute I requested service. They said to expect one thing and didn't follow through every step of the way. The job was to bring two items to code. They didn't (inspection failed) and won't return my calls... the customer service person just keeps making promises but no one ever calls.

Before they even got to work or inpsected the leak they were trying to sell me a service package and extended warranty.  Not a good start.
Estimate as $900 to $1150 to repair 2 pin hole leaks in copper water pipes in the furnace room.
I thanked them, paid the $65 travel fee and sent them on their way.
Competitor did the job in 75 minutes and only charged $265.
I discovered part of the 20 minutes they spent in my furnace room they spent slapping on 7 different Choose Dean's! bulls#it stickers (6x9) with this face and phone # on them.

Arrived 1 hour late, quoted me $500 to replace cartridge in shower faucet ! Watched 4 minute video on YouTube on how to replace it, went to Home Depot spent  $ 50 on replacement cartridge. Got it installed in about 20 minutes. I will never call Dean's for service again.

I purchased an air conditioner and a furnace from Deans. Worst customer service they do not stand behind their 100% satisfaction. Way overpriced. I don't like to be talked down to being a customer. The worst experience ever from a company we have been traumatized by them. I had hired a different company and bought a new air conditioning furnace they found a freon leak on a refrigerant line. Thank goodness my son could finally wake up in the morning for school. I will never recommend Dean's home service. I wish I read all the better Business bureau complaints about Dean's before I bought from them.

I called to get a quote for my water heater replacement. Called me to say they can't do quotes have to send someone out to look and see. They wanted $69 service charge plus trip charge.

I asked for just a ball park quote get an idea. He says fine someone will call me back to shoot me a rough number for install.

Never called back. You guys suck.

Read all the reviews here folks. The only people using this company are people who aren't savvy with yelp.

Added an exterior spigot to the rear of our home. I had all the necessary parts but could not drill through the rim joists/foundation myself. Deans was able to in less than 1 hour and even hooked up the water line using my parts.

Nate M. was the most courteous, professional individual a person could want in their home. He was thorough in his analysis of our issue and knowledgeable and clear in his explanation of the potential solutions. Once we chose an option Nate got right to work. He took extra care not to track mud in the house and to protect the area around where he was working from dust, water or damage. We have more work to be done and will be happy to call on Dean's again, and will definitely ask for Nate!

however they are a bit expensive, and the office staff is less than accommodating and not very organized.

tried the deans membership and feel like I am less important to them, so will be cancelling. save yourself the $99

In early May 2022, our sewage line backed-up in our basement. I had a few plumbing companies come out for assessments. Dean's came out for an assessment of the line and I agreed with their assessment of replacing the sewage line. However the salesman was very braggadocious about how much money he was saving me and how he can work out a deal for me. Very gross salesman tactics that were obvious and not well performed. I only went with Dean's because I agreed with the plan not because the salesman sold me on how good of a deal I was getting.
Part of his long-winded deal he was giving me was that it would cost ~$1750 to remove and replace 1 segment of city sidewalk or street curb section. He spend 5 minutes going over how much money he was saving me because their digger was the best in state. He marked out 4 sections that would have to be removed by a regular digger, but his guy could do it and only remove 1 section, saving me ~$5000. I then went over it again with him because I wanted to make sure that when they actually did the job, they didn't end up removing more sections than the 1 section the salesmen said his digger could do it in and then now I have an extra charge of ~$1750. He said nope, only one section will be removed.
I was not home when the pipe replacement happened. However when I got home I noticed no sections of sidewalk had been removed. I thought, well they must have the best digger in the state then! But I had still paid for the sidewalk replacement, so if the cost I was quoted was ~$1750 to remove and replace a sidewalk, why did I pay for that when no sidewalk was replaced. So I called for an adjustment. After a discussion with the customer service, they said they would be back in touch with me. Later that week I got a call back with an adjustment of $700. That's not even half of the quoted value for sidewalk replacement. I said that was not enough back and they said they would see what they could do and I would receive a call back.
No call back. After 2 weeks of no calls, I called back, spoke with their answering service and I was told I would receive a call the next day. No call the next day. I called back 6 or 7 times in a month and a half and did not receive my call back until July. Each time I was promised a call back the next day and never got one until I had to get very short and heated with the call service and made them promise me I would get a call back from the manager.
I finally just got off the call with the manager and she said there was nothing else the could do for me. She said the price is the price and the only adjustment would be the $700. So I told her her salesman lied to me and she said he didn't. I said, so you agreed there should be an adjustment ($700) but that wasn't the cost I was told. So either they are keeping $1000 for no reason, or the salesman lied to me. She had nothing to respond to that other than, there won't be any further adjustment to the price.
Very frustrating experience, I feel like they took my money and ran hoping I wouldn't put up a fuss about it. I will never use Dean's again and will never recommend them to anyone. I just pray they did the job right and didn't replace my pipes with plastic straws from McDonald's or something.

Another Minnesota charlatan.  My father called them to his house to replace a kitchen faucet.  The faucet was replaced with a model that can be purchased at any home center for around $40.00 or less retail.

How much did this professional plumber charge to install this faucet you ask?  $763.52

That's right over $700 for the trip and their labor.  This is something that takes a DIYer with little experience an hour or so.  A pro-plumber should be able to do this in less than 30 minutes.

It seems that Dean's employee spent most of his time plastering Dean's plumbing decals over everything in the basement (I.E. the water heater, furnace, AC unit, etc.)  I counted over a dozen decals and tags which he used to cover the labels from the furnace installer on the furnace.

He also recommended more work be done.  Here are some of the prices for their plumbing services.

$279 to replace the supply valves under the sink. These are the shut-off valves under the sink that you can buy for around $5/each at a home center. Again, a plumber with experience could replace 2 of these in less than 30 minutes.

$1053 to replace the 2 valves at the water meter.  Again no more than an hour for an experienced plumber.

These prices DO NOT include their trip fees or other fees.

They try to sell people their Dean's Club membership again another rip-off.

I contacted the customer service at Dean's and nearly blew my top with their manager Troy.  He told me that he thought $763 was a reasonable price for replacing a kitchen faucet.

To make a long story short.  I got a 100% refund out of them.  How confident in their prices do you think they were??

As I said earlier, there were decals all over the furnace.  A few weeks later when we went to turn on the furnace it would not ignite.  To my surprise, I found a loose wire on the furnace flame sensor.  Hmmmmm.  I wonder how that happened???????

I would rate them zero if I could. I am having an issue with my furnace not producing any heat. A serviceman came out on Friday, looked at the furnace, told me there was nothing wrong with the furnace but there was cold air coming out of the vents. The service man couldn't figure out why it was doing that so he charged me and left. I tried to call their emergency line this weekend and all I got was their voicemail, which states no one is currently available and to leave a message, even through on their web site it states a live person calls answers the phone 24/7/365. Their chat service is unreliable as they just hand the information over to a phone rep to call but since no one is around, no return call was made. I called this company based on the excellent reviews I received from family but clearly, this company is not professional as they like to say they are.

Our old house needed quite a bit old plumbing cleaned and replaced. It was done like lightning, fast and well done. We also needed our aluminum wiring replaced with copper. Because of the Arc Fault Detector breakers continually going off after their initial installation we kept having them come back to make it work. It took 5 months of them having to keep coming back, but their warranty was honored. We did pay a whole lot of money, but our house seems to be running fine now. The technicians were always friendly and helpfully explained what they were doing.

Two employees were no longer with us during that time, one a very rude receptionist and an electrician who apparently didn't do everything right or check his work, and incidentally made our ceiling fan inoperable. My opinion is this is a plumbing company who decided to expand and did it too fast. I think I would, in the future, go with companies who specialize.

I would never do business with this company again.  They refuse to provide any pricing info over the phone, even basic hourly rates so you have a general understanding of how they come up with charges.  It makes it impossible to compare prices, and they know it.  I'm quite sure it is intentional.  They require a $50 truck fee to come out and give an estimate, which is fine, but by that time the customer is already somewhat trapped, especially if you have an urgent plumbing matter.  The technician charged me $650 for a job that LITERALLY took half an hour to complete: replacing 2 shut off valves.  Very routine, very quick, very easy.  I was stuck accepting their highway robbery price because it was a leak that shouldn't continue over night till the next day.   On top of that, they require a credit card up front to hold your appointment, but promise they won't charge it without authorization.  Fine.  I told them I was going to pay via check.  But they went ahead and charged my credit card anyway without authorization, and I had to have it reversed.  Just another hassle for a ridiculously overpriced service.

This was not a good experience.  The service person that came to fix a faucet that didn't swing easily- didn't have a clue what to do.  Tried to sell us a very expensive replacement with an expensive charge to install.  We paid the travel fee and wrote them off.  Went to turn on the faucet and WHAM- water everywhere.  Called to have someone come back- was told it would be $150.00 to come back that evening.  Agreed that someone would come the next day- took off a half day of work.  A different service person came- attached the whatever.  wow, the second service person had experience and clearly knew what to do.  The office girl was very nice.  Not good.  I should have read the reviews first.  Won't make that mistake again.

I've sold Real Estate for 33 years and work with a number of vendors. One of my sellers needed an air conditioning unit installed a few days prior to our closing and Dean's came out and got it done quickly and professionally. I was extremely satisfied with their office staff when we needed a lien waiver dent over on the day of closing. They made that happen without making a big deal out of it or acting like they were too busy. I would highly recommend the Dean's out of Maple Grove.

My water heater was not working the best for a few years. We ran out of hot water too easily, and it overheating the water no matter the temp setting. It was manageable, but at some point I finally decided to give someone a call. I made a huge mistake and made that someone Dean.

Nate came out to give it a look. He didn't exactly diagnose the problem, but he recommended replacing the gas valve. He explained that this would fix the problem, because the gas valve is pretty much the only part on a water heater other than the tank. The part was covered by a warranty.

Nate came back and replaced the gas valve. It was $650 for the labor. That's a lot, but from reading online reviews, I did know Dean's is expensive.

After replacing the gas valve, nothing changed. After a few days, the pilot light when out and wouldn't relight. Nate came back and got it going, but it went out again the next day. At this point, he said that the gas valve must be faulty and gave me two options. 1) Replace the valve again for another $650. 2) A whole new water heater.

After complaining, they refunded about $275. I spent a total of $700 when you include taxes and shipping on the parts. So I paid about $425 to have my water heater broken. I'm not sure what the going rate for breaking a water heater is, but that seems high.

I ended up having the water heater replaced by another company. Their quote was $700 less than Dizzy Dean's, and they were better, nicer, easier to work with and more skilled.

Ridiculously overpriced service.  Do NOT use them!  Instead find someone on Angie's list who has reasonable pricing that won't surprise.

My experience: I called this company asking if they can give me a rough estimate for what it would cost to have a sink installed.  I was informed that they would need someone to look at it in person and the charge would be $40.  Ok, fair enough, I thought naively.

Tech arrived, spent 40 minutes walking around my house making comments about other services I could have done.  Then tells me that if I wasn't providing my own sink that it would have been $1700.  No that is not a typo.  Because I am providing my own sink the price will only be $1200-1400.

For. A. Sink. Installation.

Please note: my sink nor this tech seemed to have been constructed of 24K gold.

I laughed and said no.  The tech said he would like to call his supervisor because he might be able to talk the price down to $800.

This seems strange because why am I not getting the best price up front?

It also tells me that they concoct outrageous prices up front in the hopes that the foolish homeowner will just say yes to whatever bizarre fee they have created.

I have now found several other plumbers who quote me $300-500 for the same service, and one who did it for just under $400 for me.

Do NOT use such a hyper inflated company that will gouge you for no reason other than people let them.

Find someone smaller, local, who deserves to be paid well, but not so far out of range of rational thinking.

I am absolutely disgusted that I had to pay this fee and hope that it ends up being a small price to pay as a life lesson for me.

I had them out to replace my water heater and water softener and they did fine, however when I called to get an estimate on AC service for a property I am trying to buy they refused to help over the phone and required that I schedule an appointment for a home I don't even own yet.  You'd think that after spending $6000 on service I could get 2 minutes assistance on the phone.  Will never do business with them again.

We would not recommend Dean's based on our 3 service calls with 3 different master plumbers over the period of 4 months for the same issues and lack of communication and follow up.  We have been waiting for a call back for 3 days from a manager to try and assist us in resolving our concerns and speaking through options.  Very disappointed and cannot recommend.  Terrible customer service.

Not sure how these 1 start review got here, but my encounter with Dean's was good upon first impression, ongoing communication and a somewhat finished job. I only say somewhat because I had a new pipe replaced out on the sidewalk from where there was a major backup that had my house starting to flood water.

I will reserve a 5 start review when they come to pack in the side walk as right now there is temporary fill due to it being so cold. They are expected to be back out in the Spring to take care of that.

My first impression upon meeting Aketo Granberry (Drain Supervisor) was very positive. It is not often that I feel as a woman, guys come and speak way over my head. Aketo was very sensitive to that and made sure I understood the issue and what was needed. I had my own personal plumber come as consult to make sure I was not getting fed any BS too :-)

Aketo was friendly, knowledgeable, thorough and I felt piece of mind when he told me how quickly they could get permits and get the job done.

Due to a snow storm and a sick employee, the workers showed up a week later and they worked very professionally, communicating with me along the way and when they were done, they packed the dirt back in and cleaned up well. They worked efficiently with my insurance company and provided all requested information, and as a result, I received payment from the insurance an hour after they left on the same day! I was impressed.

I liked my experience with Dean's and signed up for their membership and will definitely consider them for future work.

I had 3 faucets replaced this last Friday 7-31-20 early in the day, the service tech seemed  nice and
professional. But Friday after coming home from work I noticed the issue with the new faucets: the one
in the kitchen is loose at the base of the sink and is not stable. Also there seems to be no caulking
around any of the replaced faucets. I called Deans on Friday afternoon after I got home from work and
saw the problems to have them come out and fix them. But they can not come out until Monday and
could not give me a time frame as to when they would arrive. They should have come out on Friday or
at least on Saturday seeing they had just installed the new faucets. I hope they will fix the issue on
Monday. Also they are very expensive. I should have got several other estimates before getting the
work done.

The company called me on Monday 8-3-2020 at 11:21 while I was at work to let me know the service
tech was still working on his first appointment but I was next in line. So, I left work and went back to
my home to wait there for the tech's arrival.  By 3pm and no word from Deans, I called and was told
he was still working on the first job on the day. I had told the company prior to making the appointment that I had another app at 5pm, but they never bothered to update me as to when the tech could come. This meant I had no choice but to set an appointment for the following day, Tuesday.

When the tech came around 12:00 noon, I let him know the kitchen faucet was loose and moved. The
Tech said it was as tight as it could be, but never looked at it. I showed him how it moved. Then, he
said that all faucets moved some then suggested it was because of my sink. I reminded him that several
times I had asked before the faucet was installed, if the sink could accommodate this larger faucet. He
told me that yes it would be fine.
I felt the tech become very condescending toward me after that. When the tech asked me what I wanted
them to do about this issue, I asked to have a new smaller faucet installed which I would pay for.
To which he replied that I would have to pay for both the faucet and the installation fee. This would be on top of the over $2400 I had already paid the company. I had a useless faucet, fully paid for, but the only option they had for me was to purchase a new smaller unit and pay another fee to have that one installed. I said that I would not give him any more money and told him to leave. The tech said he would have his manager call me.

Wednesday 8-5-2020 and no call from his supervisor. SO MUCH FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I am a senior citizen and a widow and I feel very taken advantage of because the tech did not tell
me the faucet may have been too large for the sink this even after I asked him before he
installed it. I am starting to think this tech is not even a plumer. The person that I spoke with
on the phone always referred to their installation staff as techs.

This company is a complete joke.  After having them out 3 or 4 times and being charged, they said my fiancé needs a new furnace. Gee, thanks for recommending that the first time!  So, she decides to put in the new furnace. They did give her some, but not all of the money she had previously spent on the failed repairs, off of the new furnace and installation.  Two guys show up and install the new furnace and throw the owner's manual at her and say, We are pretty new at this so you are going to have to read how to do it yourself WHAT?!?!?!  That is what you tell a customer who just spent thousands of dollars on a new furnace?  In addition to telling her to figure it out herself, they left this new thermostat hanging from the wall and on their way out the door told her the electrician will be here soon to finish it.  Huh? Finish what?  Absolutely nothing was communicated at or prior to installation that an electrician was needed for anything.  She then sat there for a couple hours and called the office and asked where this electrician was?  Well, apparently that is something that needs to be scheduled some other time mind you when they said they had to install a new furnace they told her it was all a same day job.  I immediately called Dean's and told the receptionist/dispatcher what had occurred that day and how completely unacceptable it was and demanded a manager call me asap.  Do you think they ever called?  NOPE!    The craftsmanship was completely unacceptable along with the customer service!

It keeps going, the city inspector shows up to inspect the new furnace and you would think that any brand, spanking new furnace would pass inspection with flying colors, NOPE!  Four code violations with the new heating system!  So, back to Dean's to come out and fix what they couldn't do right the first time installing the new furnace after supposedly fixing the numerous times before that.  You would think at this point after you have been inconvenienced enough, they would think about showing up on a weekend to take care of their poor craftsmanship, NOPE!  They will only come during the week and only on a weekend at additional costs even though she is a Dean's Club member and pays them a monthly fee.

So, let's take more time off of work to deal with Dean's.  They show up to finish the necessary repairs from the total hack job installation the first time, and the new technician agrees that the thermostat is completely unacceptable.  I ask about the previous technicians and he says they probably do, sloppier work!  WHAT?!?!?  THEN WHY ARE THEY BEING SENT IN THE FIRST PLACE TO INSTALL ANYTHING ANYWHERE?!?!?  Nice company!  No clue about the quality of work they are doing and who is doing it.  It takes the new technician 1.5-2 hours to do the necessary repairs before the city inspector arrives and finally approves.

I was able to get $300 back from the General Manager for this, but not even close to the hassle and time off of work necessary to deal with all this.  Still spent thousands of dollars with this terrible company!

I do not recommend this company.  They charged me nearly $400 to unclog a drain in my kitchen and left a mess in my bathroom. When I called the manager he gave me a lecture about how they are a professional business and the type of work they do isn't very pleasant so they have to charge more. What?!  Also told me that my house is an investment and that I should be able to take calls or leave a meeting to take a plumbing call.  What?!

My only regret is that there is not a lower rating than one star.  Do not hire this company if you need to have your plumbing fixed quickly.  We phoned them on Saturday morning and they assured us that they would be coming out that day.  Morning, afternoon and evening came and we received a phone call saying sorry, but it's going to be tomorrow afternoon.  Well the afternoon has long passed and still no plumber.  I can't actually review the quality of work because no one has showed up.

I have previously been a customer of Deans Plumbing since 2009 and have used them many times to do a basic 100 foot preventative sewer line cleaning due to all the large mature trees between my house and the main city line. I have also successfully referred them to at least 6 other friends. In the past they have been competitively priced although always tried to upsell their additional camera scope whether needed or not. Today I had them out to a cleaning prior to leaving for a long vacation. Totally shocked to find their prices had gone up by 500% and they refused to honor coupons without an expiration date that they had emailed and mailed to me I understand inflation and cost of doing business and expected some increase in price. But not jumping from $99 to $560 That's not inflation that is PRICE GOUGING! IN ADDITION they had the gall to send me an invoice for a $69 trip charge for a guy that was less than 5 minutes away
Beware of these money gouging mongers that could care less about their customers and repeat business. They are all about getting as much $$$ from you as possible and get on to screwing their next victim  To make matters worse several weeks back I tried to no avail to talk with them via on line chat. Nice girl I think name might have been Christy? Called apologetically and promised to have someone in Managemrnt call and see what they could do & said call would come in one or two days. No surprise now 3 weeks later and haven't heard a thing . Obviously management is not interested in customer retention and/or referrals

Set up a call with Dean's, they were very polite and seemingly professional on the phone.  Next day, which I had taken off from work in order to meet the plumber, they call and tell me they are canceling the appointment.  Seems that the job they were working last night was going to take a lot longer.  I wonder why they did not call last night, when they knew about it.  When I asked what they would do to remedy the situation, they would only schedule another appointment and waive the travel charge, they would not send the emergency technician unless I paid $100 more for the appointment I had already set up.

Seems they want me to work harder to give them money than they are willing to work for the money.

Working hard to rival Comcast in customer service here.  Lots of plumbers out there, I will not be calling Dean's again, nor will I be recommending them.

DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES! WORST experience ever. Worse than the stereotypical use car salesman. Lady on the phone wouldn't give me a range, or even an idea of a few basic things I needed done. Guy came out, on time, and quoted me $380 PER SINK to unclog it. Then quoted me $11,000K, YES, 11 THOUSAND to replace 2 water heaters, that cost $400 at Home Depot. Then quoted me $1,000 to fix a leaky outdoor faucet.  Tests my water and tells me I have hard water and I need to fix them ASAP. The level was 7 out of 30. 0 being perfect. He said I needed a new water softener which would cost $2500. I told him the city I live in softens the water and we don't need a water softener. If we did, it would cost about $200. But we don't, and that level is perfectly safe and fine. He was trying to scare me into thinking we had a real potential problem.  When I told him thanks for the quote, I'll talk to my husband and let you know which services we decide on, I got full on pressure to sign up right then and there. He's in my home, pressuring to get my credit card out!! I said um sorry, I need to discuss these kinds of costs with my spouse, again, we'll be in touch. At which he responds we offer financing, would 72 or 84 months be better? I said, AGAIN, I need to discuss first and we'll get back to you. At which he says, sorry but I need to call my boss. So I go in the other room, and can hear him She won't go for it. She has to talk to her husband apparently. Yes, I offered 72 and 84 month financing. No, I guess cost is a real issue and she won't sign anything until she talks to her husband. OK, i'll try again. At which he says maam, are you sure we can't sign you up today and I can begin work this morning??? WHAT????? Are you kidding me?!?!  UNBELIEVABLE. I said you need to leave, we won't be needing your services. He reluctantly left and barely mumbled goodbye. Do yourself a favor and don't ever call them. I'd give them a negative rating, not 1 star, if I could.

We were completely screwed by them. In a hurry, we paid 5X what we should have on a water heater from them... only later to feel misled and confused.

We also had charges appear on our card from the Dean's club that they promised was a one time fee... which ended up being a recurring fee.

I would not waste your time scheduling service with Dean's. They will set up an appointment and give you an eight window. After you wait for eight hours no one will show up and you will get a message stating that they need to reschedule. When you call and ask to discuss this with someone in management none of the managers will talk to you. They are very unprofessional and have no respect for their customers time. Minus one star rating!!!

Called out to troubleshoot a furnace.  Technician came out and stated heat exchanger, pressure switches, gas valve, and blower motor all needed to be replaced. Technician actually red tagged my furnace and said I could not safely turn it back on.  I was then highly pressured into signing up to get a new furnace on the spot.   I had to spend 30 mins explaining why I wanted to get a second opinion and why I had issues signing up for a new furnace then.  Called another licensed company who came out and diagnosed and got the furnace up and running.  It had tripped out due to lack of air flow due to a dirty filter and tried to start back up several times and needed a hard reset.  None of the suggested repairs were needed as well as paying 16K for a new furnace / AC (before the negotiation with supervisor for additional discounts to get it down to 13K).  Customer service didn't want to discuss any resolutions and only said they will talk to the Technicians supervisor and use this experience for future coaching sessions.  Bad enough experience I filed a complaint with BBB.  Would give 0 stars if possible.

I contacted Dean's to diagnose and repair a furnace issue.  The tech showed up and rather than attempting to diagnose the problem by made every attempt to convince me my furnace was unusable and instead attempted to sell me a new furnace as well as tankless water heaters at ridiculous prices.

Beware of separate fees for trip and diagnostics.  While I was warned there was a trip charge, despite asking the Dean's phone agent multiple times they would not discuss the diagnostic fee over the phone.   Once the tech arrived I agreed to pay the diagnostic fee but I feel like I mostly paid for a sales call.

Them look at my AC that was not working. They told me that I needed a new compressor ($4150), fan motor ($1050), and capacitor ($450).  I looked up just the parts prices online. Compressor ($1200), fan motor ($250), and capacitor ($42).   I thought the markup was insane so I had another company give me a second opinion. I showed the service tech that came out everything that deans had quoted me and all the pictures and documents that deans sent me. The tech went through the whole system and at the end he installed a new capacitor and washed my condenser. Now my AC is working perfectly. I was charged $50 for the capacitor and $350 for the labor.  $400   vs  $5600. BTW my AC is only 7 years old.

Dean's is a scam.  They did fine work, BUT, presented several options, one more expensive than the next for a simple water heater replacement.  In a weak moment of wanting hot water, and not doing due diligence in researching them, we ended up paying well over $1,000 what we should have for a water heater and install.  When I asked to see the bill itemized, they would not do it.  It is one lump sum -- they will not break down parts and labor ... because they are overcharging and they know it.

There are no words for how much this company sucks. Single women beware -- their people WILL take advantage of you if you don't thoroughly know your stuff. They used scare tactics with me, and I ended up with $10,000 worth of work, only about a quarter of which I truly needed. I was really vulnerable at the time, as I happened to be wrapping up a huge remediation project from a different flood/leak. I couldn't stop crying, and you better believe the guy (who is of course also a salesman) made the most of my fear and overwhelm.

To boot, the water softener they sold me is an off-brand piece of crap that mysteriously didn't come w a manual...almost as if it was used?!?! And sure enough, in 2 years, I've needed two repairs on it. Makes me pretty scared for what surprises my new boiler holds. Oh yah and they left a huge mess. Bits of metal everywhere. I have really little kids!

How this place is still in business I will never know. I'm kicking myself for not doing better research before I called. But it was an emergent situation. They were the 8th place I called, and the first to be able to come right out. My anger at these unethical sleazeballs is never ending. There are ways to be professional without screwing over people who are at a vulnerable time in their lives!

First service called at our first home. Later found out from multiple sources they charged us over twice what the job should have cost and only did half of what any reputable plumbing company would have done. Had to have the work redone three years later. Definitely an expensive learning experience.

Also, they give you a discount if you review them online at the time of service. Only reason I can see them having three stars as an overall rating.

Scheduled a kitchen sink and faucet install. I purchased Moen sink ($220.00) and faucet ($149) From Eden Prairie Menards.
Andrew, the tech arrived on time and wrote up $580.00 for sink and faucet installation.
I thought the price was high but didn't argue..
2 hours into the installation Andrew showed me that the new faucet was leaking from the base when it was turned on. Highly unusual we both agreed..
Andrew suggested a faucet he had in his van would work. The faucet (also Moen, almost identical) would cost $700 in addition to $500  to install in addition to the $580 for service call and sink installation. I told him that was not reasonable and called his manager.
Manager said $250.00 was minimal for a sink install for a faucet we provided.
My husband, instead, called a licensed and bonded handy man who completed the sink install for $100.00.
I DO NOT recommend Dean's Professionals. I will not be using them again.

Tech quoted me $1800 to replace the seized motor if they could get one.  Then proceeded to explain that it was most likely they would only have to return in a couple of months to replace the furnace because it was likely to completely break down.  The new furnace was quoted at $9000..... FOR MY 1000 SQ FT HOUSE!  but of course he would give me a discount making it just under $8000.  I said that was insane for my tiny house and he said it was standard.  I said what about a smaller cheaper unit and he said that WAS the cheapest unit.  I told him I lost my job in March and that I had a very fixed income, he said they had a payment plan, I replied it may as well be a million because I can't justify that quote with no income.  I paid the service/travel fee and sent him on his way.  I then called a clearly much more honest company.  They replaced my motor in an hour for UNDER $750.  and yes the part was new.  I told the tech my horror story with Deans and he shook his head saying this place was giving the good guys all a bad name, and that for a brand new brand name furnace 80 something or other, would be more like 5 grand, probably 4, and that they would still be making a healthy earned profit.  I had to PAY for Deans to come and totally try to take advantage of a senior with NO heat and a fixed income....however NO one should be scammed like this horribly greedy place.... shame on you

I have used Dean's Professionals several times in the past year.  My first experience was positive in that they came quickly when my furnace stopped working on a day when the temps were below zero .  I ultimately ended replacing my furnace which was done quickly.  However, my gut kept telling me to get a second opinion, which I did not.  

During the summer, the furnace fan was not going on thus air would not circulate in the house, so I had them out again.  Of course, it was my air conditioner causing the issue so it had to be replaced to.  Again, my gut said get a second opinion but I did not.  

Last weekend had them out to do the free annual furnace checkup as part of the Dean's club that I paid the annual fee for since it was coming up on one year since the installation.  The young man who came was very nice, completed the checkup and found no issues with the furnace.  He did indicate that there was some calcium on my whole house humidifier filter.  He came back with a price of $147 for the filter and installation, with the Dean's club discount.  I declined and said I would order online.  Found the exact brand name filter for my unit for less than $10 online!  Installation of it takes less than a minute and even I can do it.  

I now believe I should have listened to my gut the first time and got a second opinion.  They do good work but I believe their main goal is to come in and see what they can find to replace and charge top $$$.  Glad I turned down their offer to inspect my plumbing:-)

I used Dean's last year and had them replumb my bathroom and kitchen- I spent thousands of dollars. I called to have a leaky pipe fixed today and was told they updated their service area and no longer service Waconia.
The ladies answering the phones need training in customer service and professionalisim. I will never used Dean's again. Found a great plumber closer to my home with great rates. Thanks Dean's for your poor customer service.

STAY AWAY!! WORST COMPANY we dealt with. If I could give Deans Home services a negative 5 that may not be enough.

We got a quote to rewire our house. We had not one but two almost hour long appointments to go over everything we needed done. Quoted $25,000 for their deluxe electrical package.

When the crew arrived they claimed they did not know what needed to be done so we walked them through everything yet a 3rd time. This time they  wrote it on the studs:walls.

Halfway through the job they wanted $5K more & when realized they won't be able to squeeze out the $, they abandoned the job!! We had to hire another electrician to not only finish but recheck all Deans work and undue some of  their incorrectly wired lines!!

Deans damaged our fireplace box & trying to force us to use their contractor to fix it. As of today, they did not resolve this issue.

Deans home services  will say anything to get you to sign the contract & mid job claim more$ is needed for an issue they found.

I'd hate to have you go through the headache we went through. Don't use Deans.

BE WARNED! I had two plumbing issues - a kitchen faucet that needed a new sprayer and a leak in the bathtub faucet.  I called Dean's Home Services and received an estimate for labor of $750. The kitchen faucet was repaired without incident however, the bathtub faucet was never repaired and the pieces are still apart. Visit 1 - Dean's initially came out to assess the issue and took one of the tub faucets apart. They determined that a new part was needed and ordered it. Visit 2 - the parts arrived, but they were wrong. Visit 3 - they had to reorder the part and the same wrong part arrived. Visit 4 - they were still not able to repair the faucets - they then determined that another issue was with the water tri-feed part under the tub. Visit 5 - they said that I needed new faucet and knobs and confirmed what was needed while I ordered the parts at a cost of $500. Today I called to tell them that the parts arrived and to make an appointment for installation. Instead, I got an email that it would cost an additional $1,300 for installation. This service and cost are absolutely unacceptable, and I will not be using Dean's for this installation - or for anything else ever again.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!  I am a former Dean's Service Club Member and it is an ABSOLUTE ripoff.  Within ten minutes of my annual furnace inspection, my furnace was shut off and red tagged for a leaking secondary heat exchanger and was told I was in imminent danger due to carbon monoxide buildup.  I was immediately told I would need to replace my furnace or pay major $ for repairs and that they could do it today and had great financing options (especially if you got both an AC and furnace).  Well, imagine my surprise when I'm told my AC unit needs a $4k repair or replacement.  When I suggested that I wanted a second opinion before dropping $10-$17K, I was told that the technician's manager probably wouldn't be able to get me as good of a price unless I did it right then and there.  After he left, Standard Heating and Cooling came out and inspected the furnace and found ZERO issues with the heat exchange and no evidence of carbon monoxide.  I gladly paid their $89 service fee and cancelled all subscriptions and scheduled maintenance with Dean's.  Fabricating an emergency/hazard to screw people out of thousands of dollars is a level of sickening, unethical behavior that has probably worked on unsuspecting people in the past, but hopefully this review will help someone avoid a similar experience.

Side note - Dean's Customer Service was really great about reaching out and trying to retain me as a customer, so I have no complaints about that part of the company.

Very shady company overall. Dean's has offered us nothing but slow unreliable service appointments, incompetent technicians, and shady service, suggestions, and quotes.

1. 2016: New furnace was installed, had faulty part within weeks of installation, deans comes out after 3-4 calls, doesn't replacet part per product warranty, attempts to repair, furnace malfunctions again, I get upset with manager, then dean's finally replaces the part.

2. 7/3/17: Our AC that has worked flawlessly for over 30 years breaks within hours of a dean's technician preforming a free inspection and telling us stories about how the same thing happened to another customer.
Like really? Do they think people are dumb enough to not see the connection? Did the technician purposely do something to our AC, or was it careless faulty work? Who knows. All I know is that the AC unit has had no issues for over 12,400 days (34 years), then mere hours after dean's inspected the unit and provide outrageous quotes for new future units, it breaks.

Terrible company with very shady, potentially illegal/unethical business practices. Never again. My best advice to anyone having HVAC issues, steer clear of dean's.

UPDATE: Managment just returned our call, called the whole AC issue a coincidence, and blamed us for lack of maintenance that had never been previously recommended. What an absolute JOKE OF A COMPANY.

My mom hired this company to fix a clogged kitchen sink. They removed an old water filter and replaced her garbage disposal but were unable to snake the drain; apparently they don't use a snake (a plumber without a snake?). They charged her $750 and made an appointment to come back the next day to continue trying to fix it and planning to charge for more work.
In the meantime, she reached out to her condo service team who came in and fixed the clog immediately - free of charge. The building contractor said the work Dean's did should not have cost her more than $300-$350, and though they quoted her a $600 garbage disposal replacement, the one they used was only $100.
This company took advantage of an elderly woman living on a fixed income...shame on them!

I thought I already provided a review, but maybe there is a difference between Dean's St. Paul and Dean's Minneapolis, west Metro.  I only marked as one star because there are not negative selections.

This company installed a furnace four years ago.  Over the past two years, there have been times when the furnace would not start due to a problem detected by a low pressure sensor.  I was unimpressed with Dean's during the installation so had this inspected by a different service provider.  Turns out they installed intake/exhaust PVC that was inadequate in diameter for the size of the furnace.  Avoid Dean's.  Over priced, difficult to work with and from what I learned this week, incompetent.

They told me my furnace needed to be replaced that the co was to high and red tagged it. A second option to have it checked by another heating company.They found nothing wrong with the carbon  monoxide only the inducer needs repair. So they only wanted to sell yus a new furnace for 6700.00 dollars compared to fixing it for 1500.00 . They are not an honest company.

Way over-priced on plumbing services in the Maple Grove, MN market!!

Since Dean's Plumbing has a new shiny presence right off the 494/694 interchange in Maple Grove we decided to give them a call to replace an outside faucet that was leaking.

We paid a trip charge of $49 to get an estimate for the repair.  They offered two options: the platinum version was $1595 or the basic version was $640.  There must have been precious metals involved in both versions (I say, facetiously), because two other plumbing companies in Maple Grove provided estimates of under $300 for the same repair.  We went with one of the other companies and paid a total of $295 to have the repair completed by a clean, personable, and very competent plumber - with same day service!!

I think that Dean's Plumbing has deceptive pricing practices.  My guess is that they offer up the ridiculously high price for the platinum version to make the lesser, but still ridiculous, price appear reasonable.  I would be interested in hearing what other people have experienced with this company.

I am not sure if they deserve any stars..My furnace quit working so I called this business(on the google search the business on the top of the list..The technician arrived on time..He did spend more then 2 hrs looking for a problem then gave me a list with recommendation repair (around 3000 $)..Red flag...The furnace is 3 years old... Then gave the bill for 177.75    Said that gas valve stock in and he recommended to replace it..  In 2 days furnace stooped working again...We called to another companies... The guy came and fixed it in 20 min...Said we do not need any repairs from previous recommendation...DO NOT WAST TIME AND MONEY..Check reviews first...I did not...

We had a horrible experience with Dean's and would not recommend them to anyone. They came to clean out our mainline and when they left there was a small leak in the stack where they had been working. We thought they didn't tighten it up and ask them to come back. When the service person came back, he charged us over $200 to tell us we had a leak in the pipe we needed to fix. This is the very pipe he was working on and should have checked it before he left the first time. We feel taken advantage of and would absolutely not recommend you use Dean's for any service. Shoddy service and price gouging.

Don't buy a Club Membership. They will drag their feet about cancelling and then not refund fee.
I had them out to check furnace and they didn't do any testing just said I should replace the furnace and tried to sell me one. Had furnace tested 3 days later by HomeService Plus and furnace checked out fine.
I also asked them to price out replacing a bath fan and they came up with $1,100. I did that myself the next day for $51.
VERY SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES!!! BEWARE!!!

Dean's came out the next day and the tech was very courteous; however they will rob you blind. They replaced our drain pipe and air vent pipe. Both pipes were exposed with easy access. They used maybe 12-15 feet of PVC pipe and accessories (elbows and such) that would have cost maybe $80. The tech was here for 3 hours and we were charged $2,400!!! Even if the material was doubled to make a profit, it would be $160 for material. 3 hours of work at $200 an hour (which is steep) would be $600 and the $49 trip fee. This repair job should have only been roughly $800 - $900. They charged us more than double that. I will not be using them again as $2400 Is not an amount I can fork out for simple repairs.

It's pretty impressive how they messed up everything and then screwed us over. We had a bathroom remodel done and Dean's did the tub, toilet, and shower install. They screwed up each part: For the shower they installed the valve without considering the tiling thickness so it was installed too deep into the wall. They also did not confirm that the valve operated correctly. So then once the tile was up they had to order an extension piece. Then they realized that the 2-way valve did not work properly. So then they had to either install a 6-way valve over the top or tear out the tile in order to replace the valve. We went with the 6 way. Then the shower pressure was terrible and we realized that they installed it with a bunch of paper and tape in the pipe which was clogging it.
For the Toilet, they installed it with one wax ring, which turned out to not be enough. So we leave on vacation and my mother-in-law uses the toilet. Upon our return we find that the toilet leaked into the basement for two weeks.
On the tub, they somehow managed to install the drain incorrectly and caused a brass fitting to crack. we had water all over our basement! It was an absolute mess. Then comes the repair bill to fix the basement ceiling: Dean's covered the cost of drying out the ceiling because some of the moisture was from the toilet but the greater than $10,000 ceiling repair is on us because, per Deans, we supplied the part. In the quote with them they state that part of their installation is to inspect all work and ensure that everything is in working order. They literally did none of that for any of the installations.
Total amateur hour! Please save yourself the trouble and find someone else.

We purchased a new ac unit and furnace. Thought it was a great deal, until the new ac unit water pump was not hooked up and flooded our basement.(they didn't come back to fix it until the next NIGHT). Not to mention they showed up on the wrong day for the install and the duct cleaning. Trying to call the office is frustrating to say the least, they are very rude and condescending. Now that its cold we tried the furnace, it worked for about a week, guess what doesn't work now? Yep, the brand new furnace. To top it all off, they told me it would not be looked at for FOUR more days. Nice.  Over $12k spent with a company I don't want to do business with. But they did say they would waive the service fee....Oh wait they are not even four months old and are under warranty and we had to buy their service plan. So there shouldn't be a fee in the first place. I thought I did my research and really wanted to keep it local, live and learn. So, so disappointed.

Terrible service!!! Don't count on them if you really need something done. We have company coming tomorrow and Deans was scheduled to do an install for the guest sink. Said they would be out and gave me a window of 11-2. Called at 1:45 and cancelled. Now I am stuck with no bathroom sink and guests coming. Terribly unprofessional! I asked to talk to the manager and the guy says, sorry we don't have a manager here. These people need to learn about customer service. I'd give them 0 stars but that was not an option.

Pros:
- Friendly and caring staff.
- Able to come out on a Sunday when our furnace went out (for a $189 fee). But it was worth it at -14 degrees!
- Able to install a new furnace next day.
- Provided heaters when our furnace went out.

Cons:
- Prices are little higher than other companies, but they're up front about it. And it's worth a little extra money upfront for a long term investment.
- Financing option is not that good, I think it's over %15 for 24 or 36 months - don't quote me on that. Otherwise,  you pay half up front and the other half at install.

Had my air conditioner go out had tech come out and gave me an option of a $1000 dollar leak test or just replace the Evaporator Or A coil for $1200 dollars. I picked the  A coil repair. I could not be there for the install because I had to be out of town. My wife handled it. I had paid half ,$600 dollars which he said was half up front When i asked her if she had paid the other half she told me it was another $1173.45 for $1773.45. I have called twice to find out what the extra charge is for and told Someone would contact me. No response after three days    I wish I had read these reviews first.

I would think twice before going with Deans for a sewer pipe fix. We had a 10ft section of an old clay pipe replaced. It cost $8,500 with a Deans member discount, which I've learned could have paid for a completely new pipe with another provider. Aketo bragged about how much money he's brought in for the company and that he's asked them for the technology to fix pipes with sleeves which is less invasive and cheaper. Dean's doesn't have the Sleeve technology which tells me they're more interested in making money than providing a good service for customers. When they finished digging up our lawn I was left with a huge mound of dirt that was completely unleveled with the original grade of my lawn. This required lots of digging and moving dirt to get it back to the original grade. I've been told other places make sure it's level and even put sod down to make it look nice. Their 1 year no interest loan option eventually jumps to 9.9% which is another hoop afterwards. Lastly Aketo was unprofessional he offered me some sunglasses that he said were Versace, but were some knock off brand. Who does that? Was that some sales ploy? We felt like Deans was a good option from reviews, but I think they're all about marketing and the surface level image but when you dig down deep their values are money first, customer second.

DO NOT CALL DEAN'S.  We had our pilot light on the water heater go out, could not get it re-lit initially, and called another place that could not come until 2 days later.  With a full house over the holidays, we called Dean's.  By the time they came, it was running again but I figured what the heck - have them check it anyway.  Technician, who was very nice BTW (hence the one star), told me it would not last as the valve was faulty and would just go out again when it heated up.  The water heater was old so we bit the bullet - he had a new one in the truck - and replaced it with them.  Works fine so far but was much more expensive than we would have normally paid.

However, we also got enrolled in their Dean's Club, which for $99/year, gets you service on water heater, air conditioning unit and furnace.  Given that we had not had the furnace service (also older, probably 15 years) since we moved in, we called them for a service on that, per the plan we were enrolled in.  Of course, we needed a new furnace now - cracked heat exchanger, leaking CO at 42ppm.  Unit was shut down (per law at over 40ppm) by the tech on one of the below zero days in early Jan., clearly making us feel like we needed to do something now.  It seemed too coincidental to me so I called a trusted friend in the HVAC business (he does not work in our area otherwise I would have called him first) and he recommended another company.  Three days later they came out - we used the fireplace in the meantime - and told us the heat exchanger was not cracked and the CO reading he was getting was 6-8ppm (well within normal readings).  He also gave us a CO detector that goes off when the ppm level reaches 17 (the ones at Home Depot go off at 400ppm BTW, at which point most people will be passed out).  That detector has not gone off once.  Obviously, the Dean's tech either has an incredibally poor calibration on the meter he was using (being a scientist, this is beyond remote) or it was a fake reading.  That is fraud quite frankly.  We will need a new furnace eventually - everyone will I guess - but Dean's will never set foot in my house again.

We decided to go with Dean's with a few of our needs early on in owning our home.  At first, we were happy with the service we received.  However, as things went along the technicians started to show that they only cared about racking up a big bill by replacing things.  They pressured us into thinking we needed a replacement AC and after getting our furnace replaced, we received a number of prices much lower than what we were charged.  They are in it to make money, not to help.  We now stay away from large companies and found a trustworthy smaller business to service us better, at a lower cost.

So i didn't actually use their services but I had them come out and look at my water heater and got a quote. The tech quoted me 4200 and with then deans membership it went down to 3900. There was a 49 dollar travel charge and the membership ship was 51 so I was like I'll just get the membership. I did agree to the services at first and signed up for financing and was ready to be serviced on Thursday but something just felt so wrong to me. I'm a single female who just bought her first property so I know nothing about property and fair pricing. I trusted the tech because he showed me the Google reviews and they were at a 4.7 but then yelps was at 1.5. It made no sense at all! I went to Facebook to ask if what I was quoted was fair for replacing a simple 20 gallon water heater, mixing valve and a brand new toilet which mind you I didn't even need or want in the first place. The tech claimed he needed to move the toilet to do the job which was absolute bs and just to move it would cost me 700 just I opted for a new toilet cause it would have been only a couple hundred more. I had so many comments on my Facebook post that they were wayyyy over charging me and it was true. When I googled the prices of the materials they wouldn't have been around 625. So labor alone would have costed me 3300 for 2 hours of work. That is over 1500 an hour. They claimed it will be 5 but all the other quotes I got from licensed plumbers told me it will take no more than 2 because it is a baby heater. I heard about this company on the radio and now knowing what I know I will definitely shop around and search better before I opt for my first option. I'm sure they have a loyal client base but I think single girls please do your research to avoid being extremely overcharged and being sold services you absolutely don't need like the toilet installation which was a 1000 alone including the 200 dollar toilet.

Thee worse place I've ever dealt with. They rip you off, have bad customer service and don't know what they're doing. There was a huge leak coming from the second level to my first and I was in a state of crisis. They told me it was due to a lose toilet and fixed it charging $650 and I even became a Deans member. 3 weeks later it happened again and I called them using my member service. They told me that I more than likely needed my entire piping system fixed quoting a little over 1,000. In my distress with a baby in the house I told them what ever it took to fix the problem to just do it. He cut the ceiling opening up about 7 feet across the ceiling by 6 inches wide to expose the piping. He was using one of my antique chairs to stand on. I asked that he use a ladder and he said he didn't have one. He had to call and have someone bring it to him which took 45 minutes. After damaging my property along with the lowered ceiling tiles he told me the pipes looked good and he couldn't find the problem. I couldn't believe it. I asked him how much would the service be then and he told me since I was a deal member $860!!!! I said for what!? The leak wasn't fixed and now I have a huge hole in my ceiling that I have to fix!!! I talked to a manager who argued that there was no leak and they gave me the service and time!!!! I could not believe what he said! Then he said he'd lower it to $600! I told him no because they didn't do anything! After spending almost an hour on he phone, emails back n forth he told me I was being a difficult customer and no longer wanted to do business with ME. I told him I was going to report him to the better business bureau and write a review and as soon as I said that he changed his tone. He said he was doing me a favor by lowering it to $600 and here I was about to report him? Damn right! I ended up paying 250 which should have been ZERO.

I also ended up using their Deans members service once prior to that happening to service my AC unit. They told me I needed a new AC and it only had a year left because it was old. They told me they couldn't use a recharge because they no longer make the freon that makes the unit blow colder air. I ended up paying to also have them service my AC for something they claimed was broken ( don't recall what). Funny thing is I signed up for excel smart program and they came, recharged my AC and told me it was in good condition.

They are crooked con men. Do not trust this place!

HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!
We had a burst pipe a few weeks ago, and after calling another plumber who was booked up, was happy that Dean's could come right over.  When the plumber arrived, he gave me an investigation estimate of $449 and said he'd update that once he knew what actually had to be done.  I thought that was kind of high, but agreed given that we didn't have a lot of options.  Once he opened up the wall, he quickly arrived at the obvious issue - a hole in our pipe.  He then gave me an estimate of $1,400 to repair the pipe, the outside faucet it led to, and a shutoff valve in the basement.  After my husband hit the roof, he called his manager and quickly brought the estimate down to $900 - and several times assured my husband that this was the total - with no other fees.  We thought this was still exorbitantly high, but agreed to it given that we obviously needed the pipe fixed that day.  However, when the work was complete - we were presented with a bill of $1,400!!  That included the $900, plus the investigation fee, plus a $49 trip charge.  My husband priced out the few needed parts at less than $100 - so given that the guy was here a little less than 3 hours - that worked out to over $400 an hour!!!  My husband called Dean's and asked to speak to the manager.  After not getting a return call after 24 hours - he showed up at the Dean's office and demanded to speak to someone who could adjust our bill.  After presenting them with the facts (number of hours, price of parts), and asking them to justify the bill, the person he spoke to was unable to respond - he could not justify it - and he agreed to bring the bill down to $900.  However, even that amount is exorbitant - another plumber we spoke to said they bill $130/hour.  Dean's billing worked out to over $250/hour.  Do yourself a favor and call someone else.  I wish I'd read the numerous other reviews about ridiculously high billings before calling them.

Satisfied with Andrews work and professionalism.  But, what I was charged for the work that was done is ridiculous.....$479 to install a new kitchen faucet that I supplied.  He removed the existing faucet but then added 3 shut off valves at my request for an additional $65 bringing the total cost to $544.  It was $479 for labor and he was at my house for a little over an hour
This was not an emergency and was done in the afternoon, not during off hours.

TOTAL RIP OFF and I would not recommend this company to anybody.  I asked for a rate and estimate when I called for an appointment and was told that it would be given to me after he determined the extent of the job.  Very disappointing that they could not have given me a ball park cost when calling for an estimate after they have done hundreds or thousands of faucet installations over the years.  Plus I am 74 and retired and was not given the senior discount that they advertise on their website.

Dean's is untrustworthy, slimy and predatory. If you happen to call them, hang up. If you're currently working with them and have started to notice they're not exactly honest and are price-gouging, tell them to leave and find a second opinion ASAP. They are inept con artists.

As a homeowner, you want to trust technicians when something goes wrong. Dean's came out to snake a sewer main... There were some roots, sure. I've been through this before and expected them to jet it, pull out the metal cutter, etc. Instead, Dean's technician told me it was the worst I've ever seen and that it was in need of repair, collapse was imminent. He said his tools couldn't fit into the clean out, so our only option was to dig in and replace the pipe.

With poo water in my carpet, this terrified me. They kept telling us about the imminent collapse of our sewer, so we agreed to let Dean's go for it. Before our neighbors had the ability to sign on and agree, Dean's showed up and started digging.

Then they broke the sewer main. Then they left a 25 foot wide, 15 foot deep hole in our front yard with ZERO safety cones, netting or even bothering to cover the sewage hole. The best part? They hadn't pulled permits. The city utilities manager told us that Dean's is notorious for this type of thing and we fired Dean's. Dean's then said we owed them money and told us that the technician would lose commission which would be hard on his family. vs accepting any responsibility for bait and switching, swindling and then creating a public safety hazard on a bus line, city street and not dealing with it. They blamed their contractors (yes, it's not always Dean's employees doing the work) and blamed us, never taking responsibility for their own predatory and deceitful business tactics. Lawyers were involved and Dean's finally put their tails between their legs and limped back to prey on other homeowners.

Lastly, they left a 15 foot deep sewage pit open in the middle of Minneapolis during the summer on a BUS LINE street for over 2 weeks with ZERO safety precaution. After they left, they ripped up our yard and left it in a sewage-filled, muddy mess, costing us over $2,500 to repair. They even left plywood, rebar and trash in the mud for us to pick out.

After we fired them, we got a second opinion and compared quotes on the sewer line removal and replacement:

Dean's = $27,000
Cardinal Services = $800. They fixed Dean's mess, cleaned our sewer and reminded us that local, honest people do exist.

Call Cardinal Services for sewer cleaning instead!

My air conditioner was not running so I called Dean's to have it repaired.  Their technician wasn't sure but gave me an estimate of $2400 to replace one switch and $415 to replace another part.  Since my AC unit was 8 years old they suggested I speak with one of their reps to replace my air conditioner.  A family friend knows an HVAC technician with 30 years experience who would take a look at it.  He thought the estimate was ludicrous because they could bypass the switch, which took 30 minutes and a $50 part.  The other part didn't need to be replaced, it just had a loose clip.  The total time for repairs was about 35 minutes and my AC unit has plenty of pressure to last for years.  Their manager was unwilling to work with me on a reasonable compromise because they charge a flat fee of $417 just to diagnose a problem, no matter how simple it is.  If they repaired it for that price I could see, but you would expect their technicians to be better trained.

Think long and hard before you call Deans....
I thought Deans was a pretty ethical company however they just proved that to not be the case. I have the Deans Club membership and you get free trip charges however...... Pay the trip charge at other places and save yourself money in the end. They charged $140 service charge to identify the problem. It was an induction fan motor (part costs around $150). The estimate they provided is $1150 dollars for the part and labor. The tech also recommended that for that price I look at talking to his new furnace sales guys because mine is only 6 years old (bolder basic). $1150 for a fan motor and labor? I called another company and told them what I needed and they said it would be $380 out the door for everything.

I would think long and hard but calling Deans out.

BUYER BEWARE!!!   Please read this before doing business with this company.  I really wish I would have read the reviews before recommending my son use their service.  I thought it would be an easy fix since his A/C was blowing not so cold air on very hot Days.   The technician (Brandon) came out on Thursday July 7th, 2022 to take a look at the unit.  He discovered the unit Frozen up and said he would come back in the morning to finish his diagnosis.   He came and diagnosed it to a Fried Circuit board and advised my son that both the AC and Furnace would need to be replaced.  My son had just bought his first house a few months ago and was told that both needed to be replaced by the trusted advisor (Brandon and even then called his boss Eugene) that loved by sons name so much that he wanted to speak to him.  My son proceeded to listen to a sales pitch to which they were going to get the best price available, $12,000 but the units wouldn't be in for two weeks.  Even though the units were supposedly bad and circuit board fried, Brandon then decided to fill up the bad unit with Freon and told him that its ok, when the new units come in they will take the Freon back out of the bad unit and put it into the new unit and charged him $1800 to fill a 1.5 Ton unit.  My son called me immediately after the since he now was being advised to buy a new AC and furnace.   I told him to stop and call someone else immediately for a second opinion.  The second tech came out within 200 hours, diagnosed the unit as a small pipe that needed to be replaced.  Checked the Freon level and replaced the small pipe.  $280 later, system is up and running and no need to replace the units.  No circuit board fried, etc...  In the meantime he calls to cancel the order for the new units.  He was very busy with work so I offered to help call and get proper resolution to the situation with Deans.  I called on friday afternoon and asked to talk to Dean, who obviously is no longer there. They are using the name for continued business use.  I asked for the next person in charge, whom nobody knew who was in charge, they finally said they would have the person from Customer Excellence get back to me within 24 hours.  I expressed how important this was and they would try to get back to be ASAP.  No response rest of day friday, oh but then I get the survey request from them as a text on saturday afternoon, which i replied saying I don't think you want to have me do a review.  Someone quickly responded saying oh Sorry I will make sure to get someone back to you first thing Monday.  I finally talked with Ari (Customer Excellence Leader) who was completely unprepared even though she was informed of the importance of my call back.  My discussion was of this sort, I hope this is just a training issue for the technician and not the way that Deans does their service.  After seeing other reviews on this site, BBB and other social media outlets, I tend to believe this company is operating in a horrible fashion trying to take advantage of a first time naive home owner and in John C's review from 7/9/22 an elderly mother, I cannot recommend anyone taking the chance of  doing a business with this company.  I have since talked with the Customer Excellence Leader multiple times and her attitude towards the customer is unbelievable, the smug condescending nature of her attitude will be held in my regards as the lowest level of customer service I have ever dealt with,

Quoted me $440 to replace something that cost me $20 and 15 min of my time. They found the issue during my annual inspection and when my wife told the tech that her husband could do it for under $30 he scoffed at her. Ridiculously overpriced. Get quotes from other companies before using them

I haven't actually used these guys.  But when I called to get an estimate for having a Whole House Humidifier installed they said they'd be happy to come out to my house for $69 to give me an estimate.  This was the 4th company I called and they all gave me a price over the phone.  Weird business practice.  We'll come out and do it tomorrow but if our price is too high for you we'll charge you $69 to turn us down.

If you enjoy a big marketing pitch to get a Dean's membership before they even look at your problem, call Dean's. If you enjoy listening to a young kid with an iPad tell you your plumbing problems are huge and bigger than you even imagined, call Dean's. If you can wait for ten minutes until your Dean's professional figures out your estimate on his iPad before he tells you that replacing your kitchen faucet will cost you $938 (and he'll throw in the valve replacement for free), call Dean's. I told him to leave. Master's Plumbing showed up, and in less than an hour installed my new faucet and two new valves for $214. Dean's is a bait-and-switch nightmare, and  I'm pretty sure since I'm in my late 70s they prey on seniors. Awful.

The worst ever. Tried to sell me a complete plumbing overhaul of my pipes instead of just snaking the drain. Stay far away, many other bad items with them as I was a Deans Club member who had them install a new Furnace (over charged me bc I had to have it done very quickly), a garbage disposal that they had to come out twice for bc it was installed poorly and worst of all, charged me $300 to run diagnostics on my leaking AC. Of course, I could get that $300 back if I bought a new AC from them (which was over $1000 more than the other bids). STAY AWAY.

I've found Dean's professional to be predatory nickel and dimers.

I originally started with Dean's because my sump pump wasn't working. I have pipes wrapping around the house to drain at a lower elevation, and I didn't know that I was supposed to take off the cap in the winter to let it drain in a short path instead of the long. So the long path froze, and the pipes didn't work. Pop off the cap, no more problems.

Dean's wanted thousands of dollars to reroute those PVC pipes, but never explained why they needed to be rerouted. Remove the short route cap in the winter, put it back on in the spring, lesson learned. They also tried to get me to replace my sump pump, and pipes leading outside, which he described as professional grade, and in good condition. When trying to understand their reasoning, he was saying, just to be safe.

At this point I wasn't yet convinced that Dean's Professional can't be trusted. The plumber managed to convince me to get their membership which includes visits to inspect things like the furnace, air conditioner, and plumbing. Not being an expert in any of these areas, I thought it was a good idea to have them routinely checked.

My first routine checkup comes around, and here's where I'm now fully convinced never to do business with them again. I won't say his name because I don't want them to get fired, I just want to warn others to be warned, and I want companies to know that this behavior won't be tolerated, and they will lose business from it.

I'm not claiming that Dean's has been untruthful, or even incompetent. What I am claiming, however, is that they do not do business with your best interests at heart.

Here were their recommendations, each one of them was conveyed to me like it was a critical life or death issue.
Replace weak draft motor - $954 -- This was because it was reading 3 amps instead of 2.8. This is nominal.
Replace weak flame sensor - $405 -- Again, because the reading was under 5-10% outside of perfect.
Clean dirty blower wheel - $465 -- If I could get paid 465 dollars to spray something for 5 minutes with canned air, I'd change my career.
Clean drain tray - $115
Reconnect dryer vent - $115 - Wow... he's not even here for the dryer. It took me literally 5 seconds to put that back on and tighten it as soon as I noticed it came loose.
Replace filter cabinet - $389 - Because it got dusty. That's what filter cabinets do, they collect dust. I'll clean it myself and keep the $389

Replace heat exchanger - $1075 for labor only - So this one is why it's important to get furnace inspections. My furnace was putting out 220ppm of carbon monoxide, and that number should be below 100ppm. He then 'red tagged' my furnace, turned off the gas, powered the furnace off, and disconnected the flame sensor. After some research I found that yes, this isn't good and should be taken care of promptly, but it isn't at all as dangerous as he described. The carbon monoxide is vented out, and there are safeties in place to make sure the furnace shuts off if the vents get blocked. It has probably been running that way for years, and I have CO detectors. What's more dangerous is going without heat in the dead of a Minnesota winter.

So because of that high price tag and the list of other bull he's trying to sell me on, I decided to get a second opinion. I had another company come and inspect. I didn't mention the list of recommendations, I wanted to see what he would come up with independently.
The second inspection came in:
- the draft motor is good
- flame sensor is good
- gas pressure needs adjusting
- burn test for the heat exchanger did come in high in CO. He adjusted the gas valve pressure, which brought it down from 220 to 140. This is still high and he did recommended replacing it. He gave me an estimate of $500 labor, not $1100

Getting a second opinion has just saved me a total of $3118. It's definitely worth the extra trip fee to get a second opinion from elsewhere.

These people are a horrible! They tried to scam my elderly mother. They came out to her house to look at her A/C unit and told her the unit was shot. They tried to sell her a new unit costing 10,000 or another for 20,000. Then charged her $370 for a diagnostic check. Her usual service company came out and had it running in a hour and told her nothing was wrong with it. This company is full of scammers and con artists! We will be contacting the BBB and the Attorney General about their B.S.!!!

To clean the AC condensation line they quote me for over $275. I can fix and clean this myself for way less.

The worst part of this wasn't the visit but shortly after I paid for the diagnostic and that was all they did and not clean the AC I had fraud on my credit card I used to pay for this diagnostic. The technician didn't have a card reader and had to manually enter the card he said so I gave the card to him not thinking twice to enter and use the 3 digit security number on the back.
I would say do not use Dean's Professional Plumbing, Heating, Air & Drain just for this alone. I didn't use my card for anything else so no one would of gotten my card and the security code on the back to use for online purchase for gift cards.

First appt went fine; a few things on the honey-do list that honey couldn't get to -  things got fixed; so signed up for the membership.  Had furnace check up as a result of said membership....total estimate?  More than $4,500!  Do NOT turn your furnace on!! the Tech warned; nearly causing an anxiety attack.

Went over estimate with honey...some things were  outrageous (Clogged air filter estimate - $115 seriously??  Honey ran it under water and had it clean in 5 minutes.) Apparently we also have the worst furnace ever made (Trane)...so what was the point?  trying to sell us a new furnace??

Had a second opinion yesterday. The verdict? Absolutely nothing wrong with our furnace.  Yes, some maintenance things to address, but nothing that needs urgent attention.  Funny coincidence, Dean's called at the same time to schedule my plumbing check up as a part of my membership at the exact time our second opinion was being delivered.    Not. A. Chance.  

Now I only have to figure out how to remove the HUGE Dean's stickers they slapped all over our furnace, water heater, air conditioner and Lord only knows what else...
