Augie's Sewer & Drain Cleaning

Contacted Augie's yesterday evening due to backup in basement drain. He texted me right away and came out first thing this morning, fixed the clog and charged a very reasonable price. Really nice guy , didn't make a mess, friendly and professional.  I highly recommend him. The guy who calls me back promptly, gets my business. 10 stars if they'd let me!

Joe from Augie's was friendly, professional, explanatory, and tolerant of my need to hover and ask a thousand questions.  He was in and out in under 30 minutes and my drains have never drained better.  They were upfront about pricing and a pleasure to do business with.  

Joe also recommended additional services without creating the impression he was trying to sell me.  And, when he was all done, he cleaned my floors and my bathtub, assuring me at every step that he'd leave it clean!  I will certainly be calling Augie's when it's time to perform my full sewer service!

Called them the day before 4th of July with prompt availability to check out my water heater situation.  Gave Roto a chance first but got some guy traveling in a vehicle windows down acting like a voice message system....never again.  Adam with Augies was on time, gave a fair and honest assessment with the whole situation.  He later came back and installed water heater/water system.  He went above expected and switched out to the correct tubing (plastic to copper).  All and all great job, very pleased

All-around great service.  Needed a basement drain cleaned after it stopped flowing.  He responded to my text inquiry within 40minutes on a Sunday morning and we scheduled work for the next day.  He was prompt and fixed things in about 30 minutes, including some extra runs down the pipe to make sure it was clean beyond the trap.  We appreciate his thoroughness, politeness, promptness and fair price.  Loved the option of scheduling via text too!

I woke up on a Wednesday morning, walked down through my basement to leave for work and came upon a mess. Our sewer line backed up, as a new home owner, I searched for an answer on why our floor drain was backing up. Unfortunately, from my findings, it was the main sewer line. I searched yelp, for different plumbers, based on reviews and price, made a list and called around. Augie was on my list, not only was he the most economical for our budget, but was able to come out that day. Super nice guy, who knows what he is doing. He was unable to fix the issue completely, due to previous owners neglect in cleaning out the lines, under the giant trees they had planted...let's just say genius!

Anyhow, Augie worked with me and recommended a company to come and dig the line outside to fix the problem. His recommendations also checked out. I ended up working with the recommendation after calling around and reviewing the city of Minneapolis list, they were recommended on there too.  I am completely satisfied with Augie and Ouverson and will take their advice in the future to make sure lines are cleaned out regularly and do an inspection when buying a house. It would have saved us a lot of money!

Highly recommend working with Augie, he will be our guy for our yearly cleaning in the future, since we have some giant trees sitting onto of our sewer lines!

Ruben called me when he was a few minutes away to let me know when he was going to arrive, and got the two drains that I needed unclogged taken care of with no issue.  He was professional and made sure to be as neat as possible.  Will use these guys again for a slow drain!

Finally had enough of the shower turning into a bath mid-way through washing my hair, and decided that something must be done. One week and a failed experiment in DIY plumbing later, I decided that something ELSE must be done, and that it would involve a professional.

Google brought me to Augie. His website was informative and, given the option, I'll usually go with a local small business. However, when I called, the recording on the other end of the line told me he was away fulfilling his obligation with the National Guard. I certainly couldn't fault him for that, but the clog had only been getting worse, and this could not wait. Dejectedly, I called a big chain drain-cleaning company, navigated the phone tree, and got put on hold twice, when a familiar number popped back up on my screen--Auggie called me back. He was free. He wanted to clean my drain. Things were starting to turn around.

He showed up promptly, right when he said he would, even though it was the weekend. Super-friendly. He quickly diagnosed and solved the problem, even with my old pipes, even though I had the type of trap he was hoping I didn't. He even gave me some advise about insulting my pipes and whatnot. Nice guy. Doesn't take credit cards. No big deal.

In conclusion: An absolute pleasure to do business with.

We live by Minnehaha Creek in a 77 year old house. A couple of days ago our basement started flooding from groundwater after torrential rain during flash flood alerts. The drain was working slowly, but then got clogged with debris and the utility area ended up with about 6 inches of standing water. The water seeped into the finished area and the carpet is toast.

I first called RR and couldn't get a bit of information from them regarding price. I called twice. The wait time was 3-6 hours and I scheduled for that. Then I looked at more reviews and from what I had read from irate clients, it looked like it would be a minimum of $249. Since there was no charge for a service call I kept the appointment, but decided to call someone else. I got an immediate response from my text to Augie's and he said it would be late afternoon and would call when he had a better time frame.

RR came out and from across the room quoted $249. Shocker! I asked why they couldn't tell me that on the phone given that they had the exact same info (my account of the situation) as he and he gave the same reply the phone operators had. We quote by the job and we have to assess onsite. Again, he gave me a quote from across the room. I'm sorry they wasted a trip, but... If I hadn't already called Augie's I probably would have paid it since I wouldn't have known when someone else could come out.

From Augie's website, it looked like it would be $155. About an hour and a half before he came, we had gotten a sump pump and it was working, but not very fast due to limitation of our hose. Augie came in, got straight to work and the water rushed out very rapidly. I took the sump pump to our neighbor and Augie was gone by the time I got back. I, somewhat cautiously, asked my husband how much it had cost. It was $102. $99 for the clean out and $3 for a part. Apparently the charge was for a typical drain.

Wow!! His number is going on the fridge.

I just wish that, given the age of our house, we had done a preventative clean out before the rain. It might have saved the carpet.

Company is not the same! It may say Augie's , but in no way are the plumbers comparable !

Josh was the plumber that addressed my plumbing needs. He did an exceptional job and was very patient and kind with all my questions. I am not an easy customer to deal with by any means, but he was a professional. He fixed all the plumbing items I asked him to fix and also checked the items I needed reassurance on that they were okay too. He provided detailed explanations, multiple options to choose from,  and answered all my questions. Today (2 days since he repaired garbage disposal leak), I filled the sink with the disposal and drained it to check for leaks. There were none. I am still a happy customer and will continue to call tjkplumbing for my plumbing needs. Thank you!

Augie cleaned out our basement drain and did a great job! Fixed the problem in under a half hour. He was very friendly and professional. He called me back shortly after emailing him via his website and was able to come out the next night which I thought was a nice touch. He was flexible to meet our late after work schedule as well. Lastly, his winter special of $80 I thought was a bargain for this kind of service. I hope I don't need my drain cleared again for awhile, but if I do I'll definitely be calling Augie's again.

Tjk plumbing replaced my water heater today. Dan provided excellent customer service. He was friendly, explained all steps in the process and left everything clean and tidy. I price checked with 2 other companies before choosing TJK. I enjoy supporting smaller companies and my service today is why. Highly recommend.

Loved that they showed up when they said they would and called to update me with the time I should expect them. Both Daniel M and Teddy M were masked and came in to access my drain situation. They reviewed the costs with me again and then unclogged my floor drain and ran all the faucets and flushed all the toilets to double check everything was clear after they snaked the  drain. Since this was a pretty straight forward job they also worked on my kitchen sink to help it drain more quickly. Everything was done in less than an hour.
