HISTORY

Established in 2019.
Growing up on a farm with a love for projects and working with his hands, Josh Aakre found his way into a career in construction for one of the leading Twin Cities home remodeling companies after spending two years playing football professionally. When he realized the demand for his side hustle of handyman work was rapidly exceeding part-time capacity, in 2019 he finally took it full-time and Aakre Home Services was born. Aakre Home Services provides handyman and home remodeling services in the Twin Cities area, for both day-to-day issues and more comprehensive remodeling projects. Licensed and insured, there's nothing we love more than solving your problem or taking your dream and making it a reality, and offer free consultations to walk through your needs and your budget to determine if we might be a good fit.

ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER

From the time he was a kid growing up on a farm in western Minnesota, Josh has always loved projects and building things with his hands. A licensed and insured General Contractor, Josh has over five years of professional experience serving clients as a handyman, carpenter, and installer, working for one of the leading home construction companies in the Twin Cities area before launching Aakre Home Services.

Josh is a farm boy through and through, and brings his dawn til' dusk work ethic to every client he serves. A true jack of all trades, he loves solving problems and taking on new projects for his clients. Passionate about transforming houses into homes, Josh will treat your project with the utmost care and quality. When he's not serving his clients, Josh can be found spending time with his wife, son, and golden retrievers around the White Bear Lake area.

We have been consistently impressed with the work that Aakre Home Services has done for us - the latest was when my mother-in-law needed the steps in her farmhouse replaced!
Aakre Home Services came & scoped out the project. My brother-in-law said he knew it was right to have them do the job when he saw Josh's interest - he even used wood from my mother-in-law's woodlands! I am sure these steps are better than those in the finest of homes - the attention to detail and safety is unsurpassable. Thank you so much!!

We hired Josh to install a rangehood above our stove. Josh pretty much had to start from scratch -- the previous owners had left an old liner in the space but there was no light or fan. Josh did all the research to find one that would fit into the customized space, shopped to get us the best price for the unit and installed it within two weeks of our first call to him. He was extremely professional and did a great job of communicating with me throughout the process. I will hire Josh again AND recommend him to my friends!
