Owner has a bad attitude and sometimes forgets to call customers back. No one wants to work for him so you will never get the same service technician. He doesn't pay his workers for all of their time worked. Would personally never refer this company to anyone.

I cannot say enough outstanding things about Puopolo and sons!  This crew works so hard -- it is really impressive.  One can call them at 6 AM in the morning-- there is ALWAYS somebody answering the phone.  Not only that, they take the emergency no heat phone calls very seriously and call you back in 10 mins whether it is 10 PM on a weekend....  We live in a house from 1800s and thanks to this crew that whenever something else decides to break this crew is here on time, they are all very knowledgeable.  We got their help for our old steam heating system and main sewer line work and their quotes were very reasonable.  We thank  John, Steve and all others for their hard work and recommend them strongly without any reservations!

I have written a review on E Puopolo and Son in the past and I so regret my words.  It was a negative review but I return with nothing but positive words about this company!  I have such regrets about my previous review.  These guys saved my life recently.  I was away and it was so cold that my pipes froze and water leaked all over my basement.  The heat and hot water needed to be turned off during this recent cold snap.  My daughter was home with no heat or hot water!  They came to our rescue!  They came (even after my negative review) and fixed everything.  It was a disaster and they fixed the burst pipes, cleaned up the flooding, and and repaired all the problems.  It was not even as expensive as I would have imagined it would be!  I feel very grateful to them and very apologetic for my previous comments.  I hope they know how appreciative I am!  Thank you E Puopolo and Son!!!  They saved our home!

I've been using this company for over 3 years at my company. I highly recommend them. They always show up on time. I've had emergencies and the owner Steve drops what hes doing and comes to the job. They are not the cheapest but not the most expensive either. I think they're fair and he'll negotiate the job. Most importantly, I think he's a man of his word and fixes the issues we've had. They dont take short cuts and everything has to be above code. Straight shooter. We've given him very large jobs and smaller ones and he treats our account the same way each time. I really recommend them. Workers clean up after the job and they are reliable.

Today I made an appointment and they never showed up.  They have serviced me for a number of years and they have mostly done an okay job.  However, they once put a new seal on the toilet and it broke and the toilet flooded into the ceiling.  So at this time I don't have very high ratings to give them and I will be finding another plumber.  They were also very abrupt and one could say rude on the phone.

They were recommended to me by current tenants of mine when we had plumbing issues (The owner was a former landlord of theirs I believe). Anyway, I've been very happy with their work.  Extremely personable, great  communication and more importantly great work.  I've used them multiple times since our first call and they are now my go-to team for anything plumbing related!

I had a problem with my shower handle spinning and not shutting off.
After getting a quote from another highly reviewed company on Yelp ( dynamic plumbing ), I called them.
Sent a guy right over.
Cost ? 94 cents.
Very courteous and friendly gentleman John who was extremely nice.
I would highly recommend them.

A guy named Steve contacted me and told me that he would come at 9am today to meet me at the work site. I took time off from work and got there at 8:50 and had waited for 45min. He didn't show up. I called a few times and left voicemail. For the whole day no one got back to me :(. Bad experience. Will avoid them in future.

I called these guys on a recommendation from a friend when I could not remember the last company I happily used to get the main drain line snaked to the street. They called back and said they could do it in 2 hours, but when I asked how much it would cost they quoted me $290 to $375.  This sounded like much more than I had paid with the other company so I cancelled their service call.

I then started looking harder for a bill from the old company and finally found it. Wayne's Drains... funny how I could not remember that.  I called them and were quoted $235 for the same job. When they asked for the address, I heard the dispatcher say didn't Puopolo just cancel that job with us at that address?.  Bottom Line?  Puopolo took my initial call, subbed the job out immediately to Wayne's Drains, and was looking to pocket $55.00 to $145.00 just for making that phone call.  

Stay away from these guys... who knows who they will sub the work out to and how much more you will be paying because of it.

Had a call from my tenant on the first cold days of late autumn that the heat wasn't coming on. Its an old-school steam boiler. Temperatures plummeting, I called three places, all which were referred to me by other happy customers. Of those three, only Puopolo responded the same day (one never responded and the 3rd called back many days later) and sent someone out who seemed really young but turned out to be smart and able to figure out what was a tricky and rather unusual problem! He was SO good and thorough, nice, professional, came out on a holiday weekend Sunday, I would happily recommend! I am grateful to my real estate agent friend who made the recommendation and said they may not be super cheap but they are reliable and know what they're doing

For many years, E Puopolo & Sons have helped us with our plumbing. You know how your house seems to fall apart all at once? Well, Steve and his team were there for us to help with new projects and also for the crazy things that just suddenly popped up. Thanks!

In my experience they reply *immediately*. Referred them to a friend and they were there within 15 minutes. Not super-cheap, but good solid work. Will call them again.

While this company was quickly available to come look at our problem, after two hours they misdiagnosed the leak's origins and we ended up with more water pouring from our ceiling and additional water damage.  Regardless, they still charged full price for a 5-minute, unscheduled courtesy visit in addition to billing for actual work rendered.  They were also rude on the phone and one worker entered our home uninvited. Efforts to fix the incorrect invoice (which also had incorrect dates of service) resulted in more unpleasantness.

Apparently not interested in small jobs (which could have led to bigger ones).  I called and he was disinterested in a small repair job and complained about having to work on a Saturday as it is.  He may be good for larger jobs, but not eager to help out and bring in new customers, it appears.

We've been using Puopolo here at our old brownstone for about 5-6 years now ever since they were recommended to us by a friend.  Best recommendation ever!  We have had them out for everything from fixing a leak to fixing a washing machine to fixing our 100 year old furnace.  We have been nothing but satisfied every single time.  They always respond quickly and send professionals who know what they are doing.  I don't know how their prices compare to other plumbers, but we have never felt like we were charged an unreasonable amount for the work done and love having everything done expertly and quickly.  I can't say enough about these guys.  They really know their stuff!

I cannot praise Puopolo enough for their perseverance and skill.

However, my story begins with another well-known local plumbing company that had previously done good work for me (and other people in my building). In this case, I reported a leak in my kitchen sink. A plumber came and determined that because of the sink design, I would likely need a replacement. He advised me that I would soon get a call back. After one week, I called them and got no response. This continued for more than another week with my phone messages and emails being totally ignored. In other words, I never heard from them again.

That led me to call Puopolo, who sent someone over the same afternoon. He confirmed the first diagnosis and assured me that I would hear back. It took quite an effort on their part to find a suitable replacement, but they were successful. And they communicated with me throughout! Ultimately, two plumbers arrived, and worked diligently and very hard to install the new sink, which has had no problems since.

Consider this an unqualified recommendation!

I needed a Washer/Dryer replaced, and E. Puopolo could not do it (sadly, because this company has provided excellent service in the past). But Stephen responded immediately, and he helped me find another solution. This is a very reliable & respectful team and business, and a pleasure to interact with. Also - in this day and age when we could all use a bit more kindness in our days? Yup - i found it today w/this interaction.

This is not a review on their work, as we never got to that stage. This is for customer service. Like others, my impression is that they are not interested in small(er) jobs. After coming out to estimate a job, we never heard from them again. Seemed like nice people, but it was not great to be left hanging. No response, even after leaving several messages.

These guys have been incredibly helpful each time we've had to call on them, a couple times on very short notice.  Very glad that we have a reliable plumber in the area that we can count on and at reasonable prices too.

Very responsive, professional and pleasant to work with! Almost impossible to find this level of service! You won't be disappointed!
