Update, I filed in small claims court trying to fight The Butler Group and the bill they gave me without ever explaining their charges, I go on 11/07/13.  I asked The Butler Group owner and client's relations person to put the bill in my name as I am the home owner and they have only ever put my tenants name on it which they got off his email address.  They threatened me with a lawsuit if I didn't stop posting complaints on line!  Now I hear the bill has been sent to collections, but I don't know if it's against me or my tenant.  I hope a judge will be able to settle this!

They got one star because they picked up the phone. Now, for the rest of the story:

Back in 2012, we experienced black mold in our basement. We called for an initial consultation and it LITERALLY took them three weeks to call us back to schedule a time to come out and look. My wife had to burst into tears on the phone to get anyone to take her seriously.

Fast forward to 2014...new house, different problem. I called them for an appointment, which was scheduled for the following day, and they failed to write it down. So, no one showed up, and they rescheduled me for Monday. On Monday, no one had shown up yet, so I called their office yet again. They told me to hold on a minute, then came back to the phone and said, Yeah, it's gonna have to be tomorrow..we're full up today with emergency calls.

Not only was I furious, I was upset by the fact that it took ME calling them to figure out they weren't coming. If I hadn't done that, I'd be sitting around my house ALL DAY, waiting for them to show up. All they've offered is apologies.

In conclusion, if you want a quality job done, call someone else. Don't schedule your day around them, because, chances are, they won't even put you in the schedule.

Very unprofessional in almost every aspect. The best service that we'd received was the day that I called them. They arrived in less than an hour of calling. From there it went down hill...... FAST!!!!! No communication,  arrives without any warning, and choice of scrubby sub-contractors was less than professional. Needless to say,  I will NEVER use The Butler again, nor will I recommend them to anyone. I would continue my rant, but check out the other reviews. They've said everything that I'm thinking.

Overpriced. I called them with a small fix I needed help with. The guy showed up less than an hour later which was awesome. That was the the last of the awesomeness.

I showed him the problem, he said I have a special tool for the job. He showed me the tool. I have the same tool which wasn't going to cut it for this job - that was why I had called them. He tried anyway. He broke his tool. He tried again...broke the tool even more. He then explained how I now needed a whole bunch of work done and how it would cost around $300. I said no. Then he said he had to charge me $175 for the service call! I said you've been here less than 5 minutes and all you've done is break a tool. I refused to pay and had to wait as he called his boss twice to come up with something.

He tried to wait it out and not leave till I paid him for having done nothing.  This was nothing shy of extortion and bully tactics.  I out waited him with patience...he left.  I'm never calling these guys unless its an absolute emergency and water is spewing out of the walls. $175 for doing nothing is ridiculous.

Had a full sewer line replaced. Morty and Dillon we're awesome. Very professional, and kept us informed every step of the way.  Hit a few snags as with any 60 year old house, they had suggestions and fixed everything on budget. Will be recommending them to family and friends.

So far I am not happy with my most current experience with them. We had standing water in our laundry room a few weeks ago. Called The Butler because we had used them in the past. They said they couldn't come out until the next day. Called a competitor and they came out that same day and fixed the problem. Well now we have a bigger job that they are going to do and they have now rescheduled twice but assure us they will come the next time. We have already paid for half of our job and they have cancelled twice on us.

They're thieves
Absolutely do not call them
They showed up at our house after we called and said we decided to go with another service bullied there way in then left us with a $600 bill after doing absolutely nothing

My son in law did not realize this because I was not home at the time and gave in and paid them

They actually left us with water left on running under my home we called Eck plumbing and they came out turned the water off and told us there was absolutely no reason for them to have left it on outside of intentionally trying to destroy more pipes during this last cold snap as well as charging us $600 for doing absolutely nothing. Horrible people they use bully tactics and will not take no for an answer. I wish I would have checked here before I even called them. They will be seeing me in court if they do not refund my money.

I am also an unhappy customer of the Butler Group. I had a water line break and flood my basement. They were here within 3o minutes of my call and did get the water out and the basement dry. However the bill they sent to the insurance company was outrageous, then they had the nerve to add an additional thousand dollars. Within two weeks they start calling me hounding me for the money. I explained that we are waiting for the insurance check but they keep calling ever couple of days wanting to come out to the house to pick up the check. I will NEVER use them again, and I certainly would not refer to anyone.

We had the main water line coming from the street to our house burst in the night. I was able to get the water shut off and called Butler Plumbing and Restoration early the next morning. They had a full day on the schedule, but understood the impact my family was going through without any water. They said they would do what they could to move some things around and would try to get out that day if possible. We had a crew on site within a few hours led by Maury and his team. They got a brand new line installed in about 5 hours and our water service was back on. The owner Adam even came out to meet with us and make sure everything was going well. Very nice people at this company and the quick work they made of getting our water back on was amazing. I highly recommend this company and the work they do. It seems that customer service can be lacking with a lot of places these days. This company instilled confidence in us that great companies still exist! Thank you again.

I would give this place zero stars..My dad had just passed away and two weeks later my mom flooded the house all 2900sq ft of it.. We called butler to come out and do flood restoration and meet with chuck my mom's insurance adjuster (Allstate which is the worst insurance out there) the structural adjuster. Chuck said we couldn't do a flood cut because insurance wouldn't pay for it so butler agreed to dried it out which was a so so job.. my sister handle this and didn't get butler to do a water meter test but we should have cut the Sheetrock out. we ended up getting black mold because mold can develop in 1-2
Days if the weather is right which all house are. my mom's insurance paid butler about 9,897 we ended getting BLACK MOLD insurance doesn't pay for mold damages but what Ive learn is that's what insurance wants you to believe!!! If you believe this they are scott free to pay you nothing from that point!!  Don't believe for a sec that this is true..I have learn a lot from my mother's situation. My mom has been out of her house for 5 months counting and it's cost us over 20,000 for this problem my insurance company should have done a flood cut!!!!!!! If you have a flood and insurance isn't paying you should Get a public adjuster on it or your Attonery. A public adjuster wouldn't get any money up front it will cost 10 percent of what they get from your insurance company for you which is more than you can get for yourself in most cases and never let a contractor negotiate your insurance claim because they will scam you out of your insurance money only a public adjuster or an attonery should be dealing with your insurance company. I learn a lot of hard lessons from this. My mom's insurance only paid her 5,000 but after the public adjuster and attonery got involved they paid us 50,000 that's a crazy big difference wouldn't you say!!! Yeah, don't let them bully you around.
1., insurance has to pay you because you didn't have mold until after the flood (don't believe their lies and they will try to bully you to believe this by telling you you do not have a mold policy.. they have to take care of you in good faith it's the law!!!
2.. if they are still a pain to deal with contact a public adjuster and they will deal with the insurance
3.. write and track everything and whatever the insurance adjuster tells you email them and confirm what they said example email them thank for meet me today on Thur July 8 at 12:30 you said that you will not pay me for the water damage because it has resulted in my house having mold in it furthermore, you are going to not give us living expense anymore. Be very detail in your email so you can have leverage because they could be sued for not having good faith in putting you back whole again. Insurance does this a lot so that's why attonery are calling it mold is gold because insurance has been slapped with tons of lawsuits that has resulted in millions of dollars given to the homeowner
4.. never and I mean never let a contractor negotiate your insurance because they are dipping their dirty little hands in it by taking your money under your nose. It's a huge scam that contractors are doing they  know how much you get from your insurance because they have been talking to them the whole time. They take your money because they have helped you dealing with the insurance company. They take half of your insurance money or more while you could have used a public adjuster or an attorney for less.  You can look up this type of scam on the internet. It's called contractors acting like public adjuster or can contractor negotiate my insurance claim. We also got scam in this nightmare of a process. Like I said I've learn a lot and what's the law on all this. I hope I helped someone with this post. Oh, one more thing if insurance doesn't pay you can go to the insurance commissioner office too. They will take care of your insurance company.. actually your insurance company will shit a ton of bricks when the insurance commissioner gets involved..another lesson I learn

While the service was fine, long after the services were provided and paid for, the company (Owner) contacted us saying we owed more plus interest for an amount for which we were never billed. I have since discovered, this practice has happened to more customers than just us. Be very, very careful when dealing with this company.

Recently the water main to my house broke. It caused dirt and sand to get into my pipes causing low water pressure.  The city informed me that they use the Butler.  Here was a chance to use someone's services for free. What a great opportunity. Mark arrives, my girlfriend explains what happen and his response Well that Fu$%ing sucks. He continues to have a bad attitude when I arrive. Mumbling to himself cussing up and down the stairs, constantly saying how stupid it is to do these jobs and the city will pay for this one.  He says the only good thing about these jobs is that the Fu$%&ing idiots at the city pay no matter what and that he gets to charge them overtime on the weekends. Then he goes into our bathroom, shuts and locks the door for awhile???? The bathroom is plenty big enough that there was no reason for that.  His rants, attitude and demeanor continue to such an extent that it makes my girlfriend so put off and uncomfortable in her own home, that she leaves!!!  2 Hours later and it is now 3:30, he says he's done all he can and will have to get with someone else. Everything is working except for the tub upstairs.
I have never encountered someone in the service industry that was just so nasty to deal with. But he's gone now. I go into the bathroom upstairs and there are footprint and plastic zip ties on the floor, dirt and grime over all 3 fixtures. That was the clean one. Downstairs the floor was only partially wet because he had taken a towel attempted to wipe it up and left it soaking on the floor, The door and sink have water all over them too. The toilet paper roll is also soaking wet and was left on a shelf.
The following day the plumber calls and says he will have to replace the valve behind the tub, but is waiting on a call from the City to get it approved. I never hear back from him. The next morning a different plumber calls at about 9:30 and he is in my driveway. His name is John. He was extremely friendly, nice, and very professional. He came in, made a call and did what need to be done.
It is perfectly clear that Adam McCollough only cares about getting into your pocket book.  I work in Customer Service. If I ever acted that way around a customer I would be fired on the spot. Clearly the way the first plumber acted is an acceptable practice to be foulmouthed, disrespectful and so nasty to cause people to not be welcome in their own homes. It's really sad that quality and professionalism aren't on Adam's list for running a business. I will let my house float down the river before ever giving a dime to a greedy man that permits that behavior.
