I called Summers because we needed a fairly simple plumbing repair and because there was an online coupon. The plumber fixed the issue, then encouraged us to consider purchasing a maintenance package, which would cut the price of that service call as well as future calls and would discount the cost of any repairs and supplies. Most importantly, he said, the company would come to our house three times a year to evaluate, maintain, and repair any issues with with plumbing and HVAC. We usually avoid warranty and service packages, so I wasn't sure whether my husband would agree to it. But, the plumber said he could set up the maintenance plan, then cancel it if my husband opposed the idea.
We went ahead and purchased the maintenance plan. Today was the first maintenance visit, and the HVAC guy disassembled our furnace and outside AC unit, pointed out potential problems, and advised me on whether there were major issues or whether we could wait on replacement. He also replaced the filter on the furnace, going to the trouble of finding us a less expensive version of the usual model. He spent well over 2 hours working on and cleaning our units.
The company seems very committed to good service. They call to confirm the appointment, show up when they say they will, and cover their shoes with these funny little slipper-things before they come in the house. The office also calls with a follow up survey and asks whether the technician arrived on time, covered his feet, etc. They only fault I could find was that I was expecting a plumbing evaluation today, not an HVAC. I don't know where that miscommunication happened, but it wasn't a big deal to me.
I figured that Summers was a national company with franchises, because they're pretty slick with branding. As it turns out, they are local to central Indiana but have several branch offices.
we just were having our furnace and air conditioning checked. while the service man was in the attic we heard a crash and the ceiling collapsed. now we have one hell of a mess. no more Summers!
Fantastic experience with Summers. They did some plumbing work for us, which included the removal of drywall. They did everything quick and cleaned up perfectly. This is a great company that values the customer and does everything they can to fix any issues. I highly recommend them for all plumbing needs.

They try and push their Maintenance Agreements (contract) really hard.
They consist of a chunk of money up front and what you get is a poorly trained tech / SALESMAN that comes out to your house 3 times a year to suggest costly repairs that really are not necessary. The knowledge and training of some of these kids they send out is not what you pay for. Seems most of their training is on how to find things that 'might' need repairing. I also found that their discounted prices for these repairs are usually higher than other companies w/o any costly Service Agreement.
I had a service call scheduled because my central air unit froze up. We told them it had R22 in it. They scheduled and sent a service tech. Upon arriving the tech said we had mentioned it was R22. He immediately told me they did not have any supply of R22. The tech checked the system despite my telling him it was R22. They then charged me a $99 service fee. I called them back to tell them that was unacceptable when they knew they would not be able to service the unit. The tech was very nice and just did his job but they should have followed up on the service call as it was pointless. I called and complained about being charge. The receptionist told me they would have the manager call me. I have not heard anything from them.I will not call them again.

My elderly mother in Muncie had her air conditioning quit working and even though I explained how she is an elderly heart patient and needs air, not one of the companies I called, (including ones that serviced her prior) could find time to see her. Some were 3 weeks out. Summers got to her as soon as they could and not only that, but made it quick and painless!
We knew she needed a new unit and they really tried to accommodate us. The fact they were willing to help when no one else would and understood the gravity of the situation meant everything! Justin came out promptly and the day of install they sent two great guys! Thank you Kenny Cook and Matt! They were both amazing and worked tirelessly through a few bouts of pouring rain and completely replacing everything perfectly and better than it had ever been. They were courteous and kind and cleaned up every speck! Our new unit is surprisingly quiet, I can't believe how wonderful it feels and sounds! Thank you again Kenny and Matt-you guys are the best! If you try these guys, I promise you won't be sorry!
Run away.
They only did 1/2 of what they were supposed to do.
Suggested hundreds in unnecessary repairs.
Suggested repairs 4 times the cost of a couple other places I contacted for 2nd opinions.
2 stats due to detailed write up showing breakdown of cost per item.

Do not call them for anything, they charge a service fee of 85 regardless if they will be able to do the work or not. There's no such thing as fair or professionalism with this this company. They quickly told us they couldn't do the work with a more expensive experience supervisor on site (which I have to pay more$$$). I got mad and just ask how it will be to do the work they tell me close to $800 next day I called another company, they came out and fix it for as little 280$ not 800
Run from this company
Summers has been great to work with. We have an older home with rusty old pipes and ducts. The gentlemen from Summers were very professional, knowledgeable, and kind. They worked hard all day, not even stopping for lunch. All of our water pipes have been replaced, they installed a new sump pump, replaced a few of our HVAC ducts and cleaned out the mold and grime from our existing ducts. I feel their prices were fair, they didn't try to talk us into anything. Thank you, Summers!

We had gas lines run to switch from an electric to a gas stove. The gas lines themselves are fine but the installer carelessly damaged my stove when hooking it up to the new lines.
There were several botched repair attempts over the course of a few months during which more careless damage occurred and incorrect replacement parts were ordered, much to my frustration.
In the end, a different repair man was chosen who approached the problem with a great deal of care and sense. Apart from that, I found the way they treated my property to be distinctly inappropriate.

So I got in to a service plan with summers $11.99 they told me it was for one year and I get 3 services air, heating and water heater.
It started in November 16 2017 last payment should have been October 16
Had a appointment Oct 12,2018.
I emailed them Oct 8,2018 and told them I wanted to cancel that my last payment should come out in Oct 16 2018
Now they did not come out on the Oct 12 they said because I canceled my contract they where going to charge me 59.99
Even though I paid for the month.
So I cant wait to see if they charge me Oct 16 I'm sure there's a 30 day cancellation
Never again will I use these people
Best service ever. Called on Memorial Day and the Tech arrived within the hour.
Very helpful and knowledgeable and reasonable price.

We received a letter from this company telling us they would do a tune-up on our furnace for $54.00. The guy came, took a cursory look at the furnace; told us it was unsafe; shut it off and refused to turn it back on; and gave us a quote for a new furnace (to the tune of $5,263). And, he still charged us $54 for the tune-up, which he didn't do. We subsequently called Coovert Heating and Air Conditioning. Their repairman checked our furnace, said it needed to be replaced, but could be run without worry until a new one could be installed. He quoted us a price of $2,828. Obviously we went with Coovert. We got the feeling that all Summers was doing was trying to scare us and strong arm us into purchasing from them. We got a new furnace within 2 days for about half the price. It was the exact same model and make that Summers quoted.
Had been using Summers for 2 years always thought a good bit of their prices seemed high, but figured that is just how it was now.
Last summer I basically had a bandaid put on my AC unit, it was a dinosaur and I was told it would need replaced before too long, so I asked about how much that should run, and if I remember correctly he said around $3,500.
Fast forward to this year, our dino unit actually dies, and I call Summers again to come out and give me and estimate, fully anticipating to tell them to put me on their schedule to get it done asap. Well when he handed me the estimate, I was FLOORED there were 4 different prices going along with four different amounts of energy efficiency, The lowest of which was a 14 Seer unit that he explained would cost $5900 installed, the highest of which was a 21 Seer unit that would cost $11,600! After going with my gut, and talking to a few people I called 5 other local heating and service specialists with reputable companies to come out and give estimates, telling none of which about the others I was getting estimates from. All 5 of the others came back with 14 Seer units ranging in prices from $3000-$3700 installed, almost HALF of what Summers wanted to charge for the same thing, and these weren't no name branded units either.
Having a history with Summers and thinking there may be some mistake, or that it was just a rogue employee trying to take advantage of that fact that it was 85 in my house the day of the estimate I called the customer service manager of Summers and told her what happened and how I had several other estimates roughly half the cost of their lowest estimate. She informed me that he had done exactly what he was supposed to and that had been their pricing for the last 9 months, and that I wasn't shopping a bargain basement.
Summers will not be coming back in my house again as they have proven they can't be trusted
Summers came out to do a tune up on our furnace. Story of our lives, it needed to be replaced. We knew that would be the answer, but we just didn't need it just yet. However, the Summers employee offered us the best furnace in our price range, and showed us others. He was excellent, kind, and knew what he was talking about. We scheduled our replacement a few days later and they were on time, quick, and respectful of our time and home. I will ask Summers to continue to come do our tune ups.
We have the annual package which includes the tune-up on the A/C and furnace. I had a difficult time scheduling the tune-up for our A/C BEFORE the weather started getting warm, so unfortunately we had to make a service call. The customer service girls did a great job of getting us in, but unfortunately that was overshadowed by the service we received by the repairman. He came out to look at our A/C and quickly told us we would need a new unit, despite the fact that ours is only 6 years old. He was training someone and the trainee kept trying to get him to look at other culprits, instead of just having to replace the A/C. Eventually they recommended that we replace the compressor (for 3K), and they said that we had too much Freon and removed some. They kept trying to up-sell the full unit, and since our furnace was apparently going to need to be replaced within the next couple of years, they wanted us to do them both to get a discount (only 10K to replace both!) We paid a discounted service charge of $49, but our A/C went out the next day!
We called another company out. They seemed baffled by what Summer's had said about having too much Freon. This was especially odd since Summer's had serviced our A/C last year, and we hadn't added any Freon. The other company was able to fix something in our thermostat and replace 2 other small parts - for under 100 dollars!
Unfortunately this was not the first time Summer's has tried to push a new unit onto us. They caused us quite a bit of unnecessary stress. Even though we are mid-way through our pre-paid annual plan, we will not be utilizing them in the future.
