Plumber: Ok... where you at?
Me: I'm on Date street.

Plumber: Where?
Me: Date street.
(Pause)
Me: So are you available or is your schedule full?

Plumber: I'm actually off island. If this is an emergency you should call (mumbling)
Me: Hello? (no answer)

So, to sum it up, this guy was very unprofessional on the phone. And is it so hard to say Where do you live instead of Where you at? I don't know, when he said that I immediately felt like I had the wrong guy. Totally left me with this bad impression on him. Will NOT recommend at all!

I got referred to Iron Horse from my friend who does remodeling. Got a call back pretty quick from Tom and I was able to text pictures of the issues I had with my gate valve. Repairs were done in about 45 minutes and all the neighbors were happy the water didn't have to be off for the 2 hours maintenance told them it would be. He told me how to prepare and what to expect. We found that the valve had actually been dripping behind the wall and had just melted the drywall, he offered to refer me to a drywall guy he's worked with to redo the wall and also explained how I could cover it on my own if I didn't want to pay someone to do it. Tom helped me screw in a plug box for a new disposal when my drill died then mounted.

Total cost was explained and fell in line with what we had discussed because other than the drywall no surprises, fell just above the average for other quotes, good price for quality work that I don't have to worry about.

Super nice, friendly, cleaned the work area after and explains what was done, and things to look for in a condo as old as mine.

If you need a good plumber, Tom is the guy to call. He's reliable, friendly, efficient, trustworthy and very nice. He's super easy going and is very helpful to figure out what is wrong. He won't charge you over $100 just to take a look. He's fixed a valve in our bathroom and a water heater at my work. My work project took three visits and some testing and in the end, he only charged me $125.00. And if he could not fix it, he was not going to charge me!

Tom is the bomb. Super knowledgeable of any kind of plumbing project. Hire him you won't be disappointed.

DITTO, BEST PLUMBER in Honolulu!  Tom has been our plumber for four years.  We used him to completely redo the plumbing in our home, and also to redo parts of our gas line.  We own a house and a condo, and he has been helpful for repairs on both.  He is very reliable, professional and easy to work with.  He is always very professional, and I have recommended him to friends, realtors, and my condo manager.

The owner Tom is a no frills plumber. He can be a little gruff when stressed but he's a one man show and answers his own phone and does his own scheduling. One thing I've noticed is that if he says he'll do something, his word is gold. He'll work to get the job done, even if it means late into the evening. I had him repair my sink and a leaky toilet. He does a thorough job and cleans up after he's done. The best part is, his prices are reasonable. I highly recommend Iron Horse Plumbing.

A few months later...
I really thought I found a plumber who was reasonably priced and conscientious. Sorry to report that the owner Tom lacks professional courtesy. I called and inquired about a sprinkler leakage problem and he said he could come the next day. The day he was supposed to show up, he texts to cancel saying he can't make it and call him the next day. I dutifully call, and text him. No response. Finally I call in the afternoon and he gives me a lame excuse about not being able to come because he got delayed at the bank and it was too late in the day. Too late? He's been over at my house at 5:30pm before! Why don't these people just tell me if they aren't qualified to do the job, then I wouldn't wait around all day thinking they will come over?! If he was just up front with me, I would've found someone else right away.

The manufacturer of our water heater Stiebel Eltron recommended him to us.  
    Prior to Tom we had calls out to three plumbers with no response.
    I called Tom on Thursday he answered promptly and we set an appointment for Saturday at 6:30 am.
     He arrived promptly and he installed the parts necessary.
   We did have to call an electrician to put in a new circuit breaker to get power to the water heater.
       Tom called the next day inquiring about the heater which worked fine! I was  pleasantly surprised that anyone would follow up when their work was completed. He was honestly concerned.
    The next day the heater overheated and I texted Tom. He immediately called me back and told me what to do until he could get there the following morning!
    Again he arrived on time and figured out the new problem and fixed that too.
      I haven't had customer service like that in years! He was getting some calls for service by other people and still stayed as long as needed to solve our problem.
      I highly recommend Tom and Iron Horse plumbing to anyone in need of service.
    And he came from the opposite side of the island too!!

Excellent fast service. They were great to work with and found a simple solution to what might have been a big problem.

I have used Iron Horse twice now and have been more than satisfied both times.  I will not look to anyone else for any future plumbing needs that arise.  I will give my whole hardy and honest recommendation to use this service.

When my water heater broke down and I started calling around for quotes on getting a new one installed, Tom was the only guy who said I can come check it out right now. He showed up on time and did the job that day at a very fair price.
While he was working, he pointed out a section of pipe that was in need of some attention. No hard sell, just a recommendation. When I needed some other plumbing work done, I didn't hesitate to call Tom to ask him to do both jobs.
