I've now had a very minor repair and a very large repair from Zippy, and have been very happy both times. You can tell that these guys really know what they are doing and are striving to make sure that their fix is made to last, not just a quick fix. Response time is fast (including day of) and the work is quality. It's also been comforting to watch the more experienced guys working with and training the newer guys. Called earlier this morning about a leaky p-trap and Matt had a plumber scheduled same day. The plumber, Shaun, quickly identified the issue, evaluated a couple of quick fix solutions but we ultimately decided to rebuild the p-trap and get it right. Shaun was able to rebuild it quickly with all issues resolved. I will definitely be calling Zippy back for future plumbing issues!

They were quick to respond and send a plumber. However, they are severely overpriced. Quoted me over $16k for a pipe replacement in my crawlspace. Of course, I got other quotes. I ended up using another certified plumber who not only did everything they were going to do, but also replaced all the pipes in the house. Only cost me $4.5k!

As a Millennial, I am not big on liking to get my hands dirty. Sometimes the job calls for it however. I had a plumbing issue at a property where one of the bathroom sinks was clogged. The tenant tells me he shaves his head in the sink. Well, do you pull the hair out or just it go down the drain? Down the drain he says. Smh. As landlord this is my responsibility? Fine.

I look at the situation and cannot easily determine what the problem is here. Quite frankly, I do not want to deal with it so I start yelping for a plumber. I even tried TaskRabbit but they had no one available. After reaching a few plumbers by phone, no one had immediate availability. They had openings on Monday...and it's currently Thursday. That was until I reached Matt at Zippy Plumber or the chatty plumber as he calls himself.

To be clear Matt and I have only verbally met. He never came out to do the job. I desricbed my issue and he asked if I had plastic pipes underneath. I did and he said this was super easy and that he would guide me through it. Wait, let me back up. First, Matt told me the same as the other plumbers that he had no availability and was overbooked. He referred me to a guy named Peter whom he apprenticed with coming up in the plumbing game. Peter was less busy but just as good. I was going to call him until Matt agreed to give me some pointers. It was not long, we were on the phone maybe 5 minutes. Unscrew this, unscrew that, get a bowl and let it drain....and your basically done. Ooooooohhhhh. Geez, that was easy. Hey, plumbing with pvc pipes is not my forte but if you live you should learn something new everyday.

Since Matt was so helpful and took the time to shed some knowledge about plumbing with me; I am taking the time to write him a review and shed some knowledge on his service and how stellar it really is with Zippy. Even with these pointers, I still went on YouTube for a little more guidance. Done and done. I support Matt. He even extended an offer for me to call back if I had more questions. How nice! Thanks Matt!

I had a plumbing issue on Sunday and Zippy Plumbing came over on Monday and fixed it that day. The price was good and the work was excellent.

Plus, my dog loved David (who did the work). She normally does not like strangers in the house, especially men, but she adored him immediately and followed him around while he worked. To me, that's an excellent character reference.

Excellent service. Robert and Justin fixed a stoppage in my sink drains that was just past the garbage disposal. They said it was a pretty trivial amount of work for a plumber to do for me, and they encouraged me to watch them so I'd know how to handle it myself in the future. They even told me that Zippy Plumber would talk me through the fix myself if I needed to do it again in the future. They were also very pleasant and funny. I'll definitely use Zippy Plumber again in the future.

Zippy was very accommodating and was able to schedule an appointment that worked well with my schedule. I called other places and they weren't able to fit me in until the end of the week, but Zippy got me in the next day. Robert was timely and very polite and I appreciate the fact that we were able to discuss the price before he started doing the work. He even showed me how to identify and fix other minor problems with our toilet. I will definitely call Zippy again if I need any more plumbing work done around the house! Thanks so much Robert!

Excellent service from Robert. Pleasant, quick, and even though he had to leave and buy a part to fix my sink, the overall cost was reasonable. Highly recommended. 5 stars for in-house service.

The one negative was that he arrived outside the quoted time window which was 11 AM- 1 PM and arrival was at 1:20 PM. However, this was reportedly because the job prior to mine took longer then expected. Hence the 4 star review.

Matt and Jack were awesome! I had a leak under my kitchen sink and Matt talked me through the entire issue so that I could easily understand. He explained different scenarios of how to fix the problem. He even gave me tips on how to increase water pressure in my shower and sink faucet. Very knowledgeable and a nice guy too! I had a shower faucet that had been leaking for a few months and decided to get it taken care of. To Zippy's credit, they did send someone out the next day to take a look at the issue. I was told by Robert that there are basically two ways to fix the issue 1) Rebuild the components in the faucet or 2) Replace the faucet and inner-workings completely. That sounded like a fair assessment, but was then told that Zippy doesn't really recomend the first option because it doesn't really fix the problem... ok so really the only choice is to replace.

I was told that I'd have to pay 1/2 the cost upfront ($650) as Robert would be getting the replacement pieces himself, but rest assured he would get quality pieces. Turns out he went out and bought a shower unit that didn't fit properly and frankly looks terrible from within the shower (see pictures). Then he informed me that he'd have to access the internal parts from behind, and that there'd be a small hole which Zippy wasn't responsible for fixing after... ok, not great but I can live with it.

The work was done in about 3 hours. Let me repeat, the work was done in 2 hours and I was charged $1300. Also, the small hole tuned out to be an oddly shaped hole about 1ft by 1 1/2ft which I can't cover with the type of mechanism that Robert suggest I go buy from Home Depot.

Things I'm not happy about:
- We had to use one of my personal blankets to keep all of the drywall and demo pieces from going all over the room
- The wall still has a good size hole in it
- The shower pieces don't fit the original size of the old one and look terrible from within the shower
- Most importantly Robert was going to leave without calking the edges of the shower handle when there were HOLES between the metal cover and the tile due to him purchasing too small of a piece! Why would a professional leave a space for water to surely get into the wall?

Would not recommend Zippy, and in fact have half a mind to hire a 2nd company to come do the job correctly and then take Zippy to small claims court. Terrible experience for 3 hours of work and again $1300 to fix a leaking shower faucet.

Definitely support your local business.
I had a toilet leak and called upon one of those biggeRR plumbing chains. Short of the long, after 2-techs and a costly amount for a camera, I was given a high-priced amount for a fix for only a short distance (10-ft). The sewer line was clogged. The problem is they did NOT try to unclog the blockage to see if any issues continued out to the street. That would cost the same amount for every 10-feet. Having over 40-feet, that would be costly.
Checking with another search service, Matt gave a call. We chatted and he sent Robert out.
Extremely impressive. Not only was the camera ran but he removed the clog. Telling him of the other big-chain plumber, he was not impressed with their lack of customer service. Further, he found the root-cause of the clog, i.e., a poorly pitched sewer line. The otheRR big company (notice the RRs) were going to charge 2-3 times the amount actually costing from Zippy.
So, Robert & Matt showed-up the next day, fixed the line, and did-so for far less than what RR would've charged for the entire job. They took care-of putting everything back and cleaning-up. I stood around and watched as they dug-up my front-yard, ran the new pipe, tested everything, and all in 1-day.
I highly recommended them for plumbing work. They explain code as they work, they made good decisions when unexpected situations came-up (e.g., original sewer line went under the sidewalk, so, they ran a new line), and overall had good attitudes despite the slight rain.
BTW, hope you guys enjoyed the cookies.

Matt was the greatest. As a first time homeowner, I don't know much about being handy and fixing issues. When my kitchen sink started leaking I tried to fix it myself but was scared of making it worse. Matt was the first place I called from the internet and I could tell he was very knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. He offered to come out and look at the issue. But he was more than happy to walk me through the process of how to fix it on my own, even sending me pictures of the tools I would need! Sure enough I was able to fix it myself!! It is not everyday you have an enjoyable emergency plumbing experience, but Zippy Plumber did just that.

I called frantically explaining that my garbage disposal was leaking into my cabinet and making quite a mess on my wood floors-- Robert immediately stepped in and went to work assessing the situation, making his schedule available, and finally, fixing my problem in less than five minutes! I was not able to be at home for the visit but Robert called me as he arrived and walked through the whole process over the phone in a kind and calm manner. He even did an assessment on my washing machine pipes which had sprung a leak and provided an estimate free of charge. Great company, trustworthy people, and excellent service.

They were on time and explained everything to us thoroughly so that we were kept in the loop during the entire process. The quality of work the did to our home was A1. An outdoor spigot broke off at the base, requiring the water to be shut off to my house. I called Zippy, and 90 minutes later, their plumber, friendly and polite, was assessing the situation. He told me it would cost $975 to replace the spigot and a few inches of copper pipe (according to the invoice, a new hose bib, piping leading to the hose bib, a new shut off to the hose bib, with pro press fittings and copper used).

The price shocked me, but not willing to risk another day without water, I told him to go ahead. He completed the job in an hour, so problem solved within two and a half hours of the initial phone call. Five stars for quick service and what appears (it's only been a couple of days) to be quality work.

However. The price looks to be at least double the norm. Angie's List suggests a range of $300-450 for such work, while a local plumber concurs with $250-450. Another local plumber said that I had paid half the cost of what we charge to plumb a whole house, also adding, sometimes you have to pay a little extra for convenience.
In this case, the price of convenience cost me at least $500, and Zippy three stars.

Last year, the sump pump in our basement stopped working, we called Matt. He arrived the same day and worked couple hours ( we didn't know it was a complex job and very grateful for his hard working), but the new sump pump had issues within 2 weeks, Matt came and spent a lot of time to fix it. After 7 months, the sump pump stopped working again. We tried to have him coming back. Since he purchased the new sump pump for us, we thought at least, we can get the manufacture warranty for that. But he stopped answering our calls, and never came back. Finally, we gave up on him and asked another plumber, and it took him 20 minutes to replace the new one.

The two plumbers are here and fixed the problem asap the next morning. They even replaced my garbage disposal, besides showing me how to check the p-traps. My go to plumbers from now on! Our situation quickly went from bad, to worst case, to beyond worst case. Think original, turn of the century terracotta piping that had disintegrated both under the foundation and outside of the house....6 feet under our driveway.

Matt from Zippy Plumber came (way after normal business hours) and immediately was able to not only assess the situation, but articulate it to us in layman terms, intelligently. He immediately have us extremely high confidence in his ability to help us with a pretty dire situation. He also managed to call someone late on a Saturday to have an excavator ready to come for Sunday morning. The rate was $350/hour and they roll the $69 trip charge into that if you agree to get the work done. In addition to changing a toilet flapper, the technician looked at another toilet downstairs, assessed the supply valves as not working and needing repair at some point, and he also checked the water pressure and told me it was too high. I will have to look for a lower hourly rate for the bigger repairs that apparently need to be done. Matt was super nice on the phone and the tech was nice and informative.

After we were unable to resolve our ice maker leak problem this afternoon, we called Zippy Plumber. Sean and Tyler arrived at 6pm. It's 8:15pm on a Saturday and they just left our house. The leak is fixed and so is our low water pressure issue. They fixed everything and could not have been more polite, knowledgeable, and professional! Matt was equally as great coordinating our service appointment and getting the techs to us! Definitely not the service we've received from other plumbers in the area. Matt came out on a Sunday. A remediation company had detected moisture in my wall the day before and suggested I get a plumber to detect where the moisture was coming from.
Matt, cut open the wall further to find I had a pipe with holes in it due to nails that had punctured the pipe during the initial construction of the building. He cut out the damaged pipe, replaced it with a new one and successfully took care of the leak.
I was very impressed with Matt's professionalism and diligence in taking care of this serious problem. I will definitely use Zippy plumbing again and would absolutely recommend them for plumbing services.

Called at 2:25 p.m. June 19th (aren't cell phones a wonderful tool for tracking?)...it was a 3 minute call so clearly I did speak with someone - Supposed to have someone call me back to set up appointment - waited all day that day and the next ; then called again the next evening to see what the problem was....she was apologetic and said she would get in touch with them again.
Now here it is today - June 21...I called another local plumber who came out in an hour (and it wasn't even an emergency) and repaired it on the spot! Now, just 2 minutes ago I get a call from a different number saying Zippy has no work order from me - they also called my business by a name it hasn't been for more than 6 years now...seriously?? TWO phone calls - and two conversations over TWO days -

Called Zippy to get a second opinion on what I was told was a broken pipe in a rental property. Because I thought I had a broken pipe I needed to have someone out to the property immediately. This was the only company that I called that would accommodate me. Matt could have taken advantage of the bad information I received and run up a huge bill, but instead he was honest and his invoice was half of what the other plumber told me. Called Zippy after my water heater wouldn't stay lit. Matt helped me attempt to start it after multiple times not being able to lite the water heater we schedule an appointment for late that evening. The tech called in advance before arriving to gives he's eta. He was on time and very professional, Shocked he removed he's shoes in respect to my home. Greatly appreciated he gave me multiple options that could resolve the issues and future maintenance to perform on the water heater. As a smart shopper I had to price shop called him back the next day and he arrived after his previous job it was late but he still arrived with a smile and completed the water heater replacement in my attic quickly and clean. He showed and explain to me how the water heater works and all the parts. Walked me through how to start and shut down the water heater. Overall Zippy was beyond any experience I've ever had with techs at my house. I'll be calling back for any future issues and recommend them to everyone

I can't say enough good things about these guys. Friday morning we discovered our hot water heater was out due to some flooding in our basement that the existing sump pump installation was inadequate to deal with. We called Zippy based solely on the reviews, and had an appointment for that afternoon. Robert showed up exactly on time, quickly assessed the problem (poorly installed and inadequate sump pit and pump) and gave me a quote for both a much better sump solution and pump replacement as well as a new hot water heater. They did everything they could to save our existing hot water heater in order to try to save us money, but it was sadly done. The very next day they finished the sump pump installation and today they installed the water pump. They charged me the exact cost that they quoted me and not a penny more. The price seemed quite fair considering the total amount of work required to dig the sump pit was significant. I can't say enough about the quality of work and general respect, cheerfulness and professionalism the whole crew demonstrated. Big thanks to Robert, Jeremy and the Matts. They made what could have been a very stressful ordeal much easier to deal with.

We called Zippy Plumber today after we got in over our heads trying to flush our old water heater, and it started leaking. Matt was at our house within a couple hours and our water heater is already back up and running. He was incredibly helpful and explained what we should and should not do as far as maintenance, what each part of the water heater is, how it works, and what we should look out for. My husband is pretty capable with home repairs so Matt said if we ever wanted to do repairs ourselves, he'd be happy to walk us through it over the phone. This was easily the best home repair service I've seen (plumbing or otherwise). We highly recommend Zippy Plumber, and they will definitely be our first call for any future plumbing needs.

I called because I needed my garbage disposal replaced. I had another appointment with a company, however they were very unprofessional and arrived later than scheduled, and thought I was okay with them just 'showing up anytime' and not calling.
After declining their services, I quickly looked online to find a licensed, dependable plumber who could replace my older garbage disposal with a new one.
Robert and Alston arrived at my home on time and as scheduled. They took their shoes off prior to entering my home....a nice plus since we don't wear shoes in the house.
They assessed the situation quickly, asked me some troubleshooting questions and quickly got to work. The job itself was relatively quick, and well under the estimated proposed time. Thankfully I had no additional issues such as water leakage or damage from my disposal or pipes underneath the sink.
These gentleman were professional, answering service calls outside of the home, which was very pleasant to see them do that. They tagged team at every interval and double checked the work when it was completed.
Prior to closing the sale, I was asked if I had questions-which I had one that was answered. They cleaned up and took the old disposal with them.....so no cleanup for me!

Would I call them again? Absolutely!
Would I refer them out to my friends and family? I've already done it!

Excellent experience. My ancient water heater finally gave up the ghost after 20-plus years. After a mid-morning call to Matt, he had a service person, David, at my home within 90 minutes (who also called when he got delayed in traffic to let me know he would be a few minutes late.) After explaining my options, without aggressively trying to upsell me, David made a quick run to pick up the new unit, then returned to install the new heater. Less than three hours later, everything was done, even though he had to make modifications to bring my system up to code while installing. Price was fair and exactly as quoted, plus the clean-up was so thorough you'd never know the area had even been disturbed. A+ service all around. Would not hesitate to use this company again.

Christina and Robert are amazing.

Thanks to the ice storm, we had the pipe leading to our hot water heater freeze. Due to busted pipes everywhere and the backlog of work for everyone, we had a difficult time even getting plumbers to talk to us. Upon calling Zippy, Christina walked us through the steps to take to ensure that the entire plumbing system would not explode, once the dreaded thaw happened. She even called back prior to the technician arriving to make sure all was okay.

Needless to say, when the pipe defrosted, it burst, sending water everywhere. Of course the water shut off valve was inoperable, as things are when emergencies arise. Christina to the rescue again! Robert was here in no time and was able to turn the water off at the meter before costly damage occurred. He was able to mend the broken pipe before I had to resort to Xanax.

OH! Christina also hooked us up with a water damage repair company, who came out at no charge to calm our fears that the crawl space had turned into the Titanic.

Thank you, THANK YOU Zippy! You guys saved our house and my sanity.

Matt showed up when he said he would and quickly diagnosed the issue. Though there was nothing for him to fix (he advised me to call a septic company out), he spent time to explain the issue. He even told me what to tell the septic company I needed. He was honest, professional and very likeable. I will definitely call him back when I have more work to do!

What a wonderful and pleasant experience. They gave me a same-day appointment, the plumber showed up on time, and he was very polite. Very knowledgeable and professional.

He took care of the issue and showed me what was causing the problems. Also showed me how to take care of the issue in future. Any other plumber would charge hundreds of dollars on the things that we did not need. Very happy with the experience and would have absolutely no hesitation recommending these guys to all my family and friends.

Was supposed to fix a leak in my shower which seemed like an easy job after the second plumber showed me what needed to be done. Zippy left screws loose and left out a limiter which allowed the handle to spin around in a full circle which made it hard to find the spot where the water cuts off completely. I had get the job done all over including replace the cartridge because I was not sure if they really did it or not. Will never use them again.

While I was trying to sell my condo, I found some plumbing issues I needed to take care of. The toilet started leaking water from the bottom, at the floor and the water heater was not working at all. The problem was immediately diagnosed as soon as the guys from Zippy Plumber showed up. I got my water heater replaced and the toilet drain fixed the same day. Robert arrived at my house and educated me on the issue with our toilet bowl. The bowl would overflow like Niagara Falls! He quickly showed me the snake tool to clear up the clog and suggested that I buy one in case this happens again. Very pleasant, funny, and professional employee. This guy deserves a raise! I recommend Zippy Plumber to anyone.

They are available anytime (even 1 AM in the morning as Robert told me!). And the chick (Kristina I hope I got that right?) answering their phone is very pleasant as well. She made sure the plumber was out at my house the same day! I hope she gets a raise as well for being patient with me and making sure I am happy with the response/service. While speaking to a phone representative I got the impression that this company acted like a consortium or middleman for area plumbers. It's just as well I never received a call back from the representative plumber in my area. Just to get an estimate on a new conventional water heater will cost $69.95. The fee for a quote won't be deducted from the cost of the project if the plumbing project is performed.

I thought I had an emergency water leak yesterday, Monday morning. I called one of the names above Zippy's rating and they never called me back until after 4 PM.

Robert, at Zippy plumbing, answered the phone and said he would be over in 15 minutes. He and his helper were unbelievably prompt, friendly, and polite. Because they really could not find a problem, they did not even charge me. I tried to give them a tip and they said They do not except tips. But to please go to yelp and recommend them. I will definitely make them my first call for any plumbing needs the next time I need someone!

Matt used to be my go to plumber, and I was recommending him to friends and family. I think he is suffering from some growing pains right now though. I had an appointment scheduled with him on two different days this week and he failed to show up or even call to say he could not make it. I ended up having to hire someone else. It sounds like he is doing a lot of commercial work for hotels. He did contact me later to apologize. If you have a minor repair and you want it done right away, you might want to call someone else. For anything else, he's the best in town.

I called Matt after a quick internet search that led me to this listing and I'm so glad I did. After listening to my issues with my 1967 plumbing and the DIY I had tried so far, he reassured me that I could finish the project myself and did not need a visit! He asked me to send a couple of pics and called back within minutes. He gave me a list of parts I needed, suggestions on where to track them down (which was the biggest problem) and clear instructions on how to complete the job. We had a line leaking from our water meter to our house,
and needed to get it repaired quickly.
My wife contacted Matt, who was professional, and handled our issues immediately.
His crew was there from ten to five, along with Matt. They got the job done with minimal damage to our yard. He used quality fittings inside the house and replaced the pressure reducing valve. He relocated the water line entrance to the house to avoid having to tunnel under our driveway or under our pavers.

Of several plumbers over the years, he's the best plumber I've dealt with. He likes taking on challenges, takes his job seriously and he's easy to reach, easy to communicate with, easy to deal with. From small job to big, this is who I would call.

I met Matt when I had a difficult problem and asked 5 plumbers for quotes. I explained the problem to all 5 and they all came out to give estimates. 2 wouldn't even try the work. Of the 3 that did give bids, Zippy Plumber (Matt Firtha) was the most organized, thorough and confident of the approach. He wasn't the low-ball bid, but he came with an experienced professional plumber colleague and the two of them did great diagnostics and were clearly the best team prepared to solve my problem. I had a failed cast iron drain running under cement slab in my basement which also ran under a brick fireplace. Matt collaborated with me on considering possible solutions and as an addon, I told him I wanted to combine the repair job with a remodeling project to add a new bathroom. He was very helpful coaching me on how to approach that project too.

His crew cut a trench through the basement slab floor for a new drain, contained the cement dust with a plastic tarp system, replaced old compromised cast iron parts of the house master drain, did a good clean up, and roughed in bathroom drains and new bathroom plumbing. He re-routed gas lines for a gas stove installation and helped me avoid problems with my remodeling project. I had a minor add-on project and he stayed to do that work and applied the same professional effort on the small things as he did on the big things.

I expect plumbers to shop for parts specific for a job. Matt surprised me by coming with an inventory of fittings and pipe and couplings and a wide range of tools and he is prepared for just about anything.

The communication with this company surpassed my expectations even though they did not perform the job I needed. Someone was scheduled to come to my examine the job situation. For a small operation, this expense of time is commendable. At the last minute, an established client needed emergency help. The owner recommended a business with many plumbers on staff. Not only did the owner call to follow up with me, the marketing coordinator called too to see if I had been able to secure someone to perform the work. This level of attentiveness deserves commendation.

Buyer beware. I had a sewer with tree roots In it. Caused a back up in my basement. I called Zippy. Nice guy, seems very honest. I trusted them. To replace 6' of sewer pipe approximately 10' down came to shy of $8k. I was shocked, I asked a friend who used them for a similar problem same price. So my neighbor just had the same problem tried another company his quote
Was $1200. Job done. I feel I was ripped off. Very bad feeling. Please go with another company and save money. Learn from my mistake. Mike

What a joke!, called to ask for a price quote to have an ACCOR shut-off valve replaced, offered to send pictures. The guy I spoke to said it is $89 to send someone out and then they will be able to give a price quote. The usual scam, they'll charge you to look at it and then they will give you any price and if you don't like it, you lose the $89!. What I wanted is a straight forward task with a well known shut-off valve and I even offered to send pictures, but when I mentioned that to him, he hung up on me, I guess he realized I'll not play along with their scam!. I DON NOT RECOMMEND.

Matt is my new favorite plumber. When you have #oldhouseproblems you need a good plumber in your contact list. I needed a new garbage disposal installed today and contacted Matt in the mid morning. He was able to fit me in between 5-7pm same day. Perfect! He got the new disposal in quickly and with attention to detail. Also price was as quoted - no mysterious surprises like you get sometimes. He also confirmed my suspicions that we have a serious issue with the way our sink was originally installed. He got under the sink and took pictures so that I can better explain the issue and get it taken care of by the appropriate contractor. Above and beyond!

I also mentioned some other dicey work that had been done in our master bath with a tile shower. Long story short it was installed by a monkey or toddler and is completely unsound (cracking and loose tile, weird water pooling etc.) He quickly pointed out the major issues and gave me suggestions for how to handle it. He even gave me the contact info for a trusted tile guy. Again, above and beyond! Being a house repair nerd at this point, nothing excites me more than detailed explanations of how solid work should be done. I think some pros like to keep their knowledge to themselves but I always appreciate someone who is willing to explain things.

My faith in Atlanta tradesman/contractors has been restored. I will definitely recommend Matt to friends and he'll be our first call for future plumbing needs.

Robert was great. Unfortunately I needed Zippy to come in 24 hours after another plumber's mistake on our sink. I didn't have enough confidence in the other guy to call him back. Robert was very prompt and responsive. He got the job done in minutes, and he rechecked the other plumber's work to give me back some security against any future leaks. He also let me bend his ear about moving some pipes when we do a future renovation project. I had a very pleasant and optimistic experience with Zippy. I would use them again in a heartbeat.
