I've never had severe plumbing problems. However, the tech was extremely courteous and professional. Although, the damage was done, he was very careful not to tack any debris from outside. Also, being an experienced plumber, his gut instinct caused concern that my immediate problem was secondary to my complaint. Job well done, Brian Davis.

No one wants to have plumbing issues, but if you do, you want someone like Stefan coming to work on them.  He came quickly after we called, did the work that needed to be done.  Gave us the cheapest option first, which we tried and didn't work and came back to do the more expensive one.  He was courteous and tried not to track mud in our house (which is next to impossible) and explained what he did.  He went the extra mile to wrap it up before he left.  Can't get much better than that.

The service was very quick. Almost too quick that I couldn't check with my neighbor's plumber recommendation. We had a leaky toilet valve replaced. It cost almost $280 (part was $15). We had already shut off the water and drained the line. The guy was here for 30 minutes. He said he was giving us a deal because list price was $349. My neighbor's plumber said he would come out and change the other 4 toilet valves $200. So if you don't mind paying a lot, this is a great company for you.

Perfect experience. The technician was courteous, professional and very competent. He resolved the sewer drain quickly.  He also recommended several maintenance tips to prevent the problem from reoccurring.   We have used them before, and We would recommend using Roto Rooter if you have a plumbing issue.

They also came very quickly, the price was fair as well
Also please check out the discount coupons on there web site

Again, I cannot express our gratitude to the team of Toland & Mehmet.  Today, they cleaned up the rest of the water damage.  It's nice to get the fans out of the house.  Toland explained everything the team did, and answered all of my questions.

I'm looking forward in getting our house back to normal, thanks to Toland & Mehmet.

Sincerely,
Kathleen Gay

Don't be fooled by R.R's quick response to reviews.  Corporate roto rooter does that to make them look responsive. Nothing came of it except an email that a regional manager would call me.  Well, I talked to a manager right after the plumber left. He said the only recoarse was for him to talk to the plumber about not telling me how much the work would cost before it was started.  I definately didn't want to make the plumber mad. (He had just left my house.) So, I told manager to drop it and that I would just never use them again.

The plumber charged me for work not performed. I thought i was getting copper pipes replaced turns out copper pipes are not easily replaceable. He charged me $500 to install a garbage disposal and diswasher. I will say customer service did send a second plumber out to replace valves but my copper pipes still remain. I feel taken advantage of but partly my fault for not verifying work completed getting a itemized prework authorization order. Trust no one.

I had a sink issue and I contacted Roto-Rooter. Within a few hours I had two servicemen from Roto-Rooter at my door. Owen and Jerry listened to me and accessed the situation that was causing my sink issues and my dishwasher issues. They both got the job done. Quickly and very efficiently. After they were finished they gave me some helpful tips on how to keep my drains taken care of.
I am please with the service Owen and Jerry gave and I would recommend them.

If you can in any way wait to call a proper, local, plumber; do it. We've rolled the dice with these guys a couple of times and the results were never ideal and/or made something worse. For small simple jobs, maybe this service is worth it. If you have anything major that needs doing, go local.

Roto-Rooter has been my first choice for all of my plumbing needs.  They have always given me great customer service and the technicians have been very pleasant and professional.  Ray Diaz-3046 came out to check where the leak was coming from underneath my kitchen sink.  He was on time and very professional.  Needless to say, my A/C had went out on the very same day of the scheduled appointment - yet Ray didn't let the heat in the house deter him.  He stayed on course, pinpointed the leak, gave me options of the work that had to be done, and diligently replaced the faucet in a 86 degree house with no complaints.  As a female, it's difficult to find a company to trust with high level of professionalism.  Roto-Rooter has been that trusted company for me.  Great job Ray! - and Roto-Rooter - keep up the great service!

If you wish to find a reputable plumbing company DO NOT hire Roto-Rooter of Atlanta. Do not use this company under any circumstances unless you are ok with paying for services that will not be rendered and fraudulent fees. Here's how the go about scamming regular people out of their money. ......by advising clients to file insurance claims to pay for their services. This company takes advantage of homeowners and always quick to threatening people with liens and collections. They are very ghetto, rud, and lastly unethical. They are low-class individuals and you should not have them in your home period. Georgia's laws must not be that great for consumers to allow scums like this company to operate and take advantage of hard-working families. Please do yourself a favor, do not ever do business with Roto-Rooter of Atlanta under any circumstances.  Oh, did I mention what they were supposed to have fixed? they were supposed to unclogged my sewer system, was not fixed? They then have the nerve to send me a bill for over $2,400.  When my wife and I asked them to email us an itemized bill..... they went absolutely crazy on us. Again, for your peace of mind, Stay away from Rotor-Rooter of Atlanta.

Will not use again -- waited an extra 2 hours outside of the 2-hour time frame the operators gave for someone to show up. Plus, the diagnostic fee is way over priced. Ended up not having any work done, huge waste of time.

My apartment complex recommended I call Roto-Rooter so I scheduled a Saturday appointment and was told someone would arrive between 8am and 10am.

On Saturday at 9:30am I get a call saying no plumbers are working in my area yet but when someone becomes available, they'll send them my way. At 10am the operators call me again saying a plumber is 30 minutes out finishing a job and will be over anywhere between 45 minutes and an hour. At 11:15am I call back to say still no one is here, and the operator can't offer me any advice other than someone will get here when they can. Finally at 12pm the plumber arrives. So already 2 hour outside the window they gave me. Why allow scheduling of an appointment in a certain timeframe if you can't guarantee anyone will be available?

So 12pm, the plumber comes in, I describe the issue, and he says he can't determine the problem without doing a diagnostic, which will cost me $245 an hour. Once they figure out the problem and I give them the ok to work on it, the diagnostic fee will go towards fixing the issue. I text a family member who is familiar with plumbing, and they tell me that $245 is probably a rip off.

12:40pm I say no thanks, so now I've wasted an extra 4 hours and 45 minutes of my time, plus this Roto-Rooter plumber has wasted at least 45 minutes of his time, all for nothing. The only good thing I can say is that the plumber was kind and understanding, but his hands were tied with all the rules set by the company.

I am extremely disappointed with quality of work and response time. A technician came to fix a shower clog, and immediately thereafter my shower began leaking into the ceiling below. We called immediately to have a plumber come back to address the resulting leak, but Roto-Rooter missed their appointment windows four times in a row. We called the night of - did not show. The next morning - the technician showed up right after the window and we could not accommodate. They rescheduled for the same night, 5:00 - 8:00, and they did not show. We again postponed and gave them until midnight to show - and they did not. We rescheduled with priority for the next morning between 8:00 and 10:00, and they did not show again.

The inability to schedule and poor workmanship on the first fix is unacceptable.

Professional service performed clearing out a blocked sewer line. He spent the time making a few passes with the rooter to make sure all debris made it out to the main line in the street. Thank you.

Great work. Way better than Priority Plumbing. I had a pressure reducing valve installed. It took all of 30 mins. Priority Plumbing claimed that they could not install the prv. There are plenty of units that probably need the same procedure done in the Avalon community.

I scheduled an appointment with Roto-Rooter to come look at a clogged drain outside my house.

They scheduled me a 1-5 pm appointment time on a Friday so I took the day off from work.  No one EVER showed.

They did call me at 9 pm that night to say they could come out the next day between 8 am-12 pm.  Of course, they showed up at 12.

It cost me over $700 to get Roto-Rooter to blow out a clogged pipe that took around 15 minutes to complete.

I can tell you one thing, Roto-Rooter's customer service makes Comcast cable look like a champ.  And if you have ever dealt with Comcast, you would know that is not a good thing for me to write.

Avoid Roto-Rooter like the plague.  They use a name people know but offer horrible customer service and rates that will make you want to sell your house.

After four attempts to get a shower fixed, the impolite and unprofessional man who answered at dispatch cancelled my technician TWICE because I did not answer the phone. Now, the call was missed at 5:32 and I called back 20 minutes later. The first two times the service technician was supposed to show up, Roto Rooter failed to deliver: the person came at the wrong time when no one was home, and 2. the technician had a fender bender and did not show up. One would think Roto Rooter would be in a hurry to follow up successfully to repair the business relationship they have had with me for 3+ years but the dispatcher was indifferent. You guys suck. Seriously.

Hi,

This was my first experience and probably the last with Roto Rooter. The technician came on time and stayed for about 15 mins. In these 15 mins all he suggested was that I should actually replace the entire water heater as I already had warranty for it. And that he would be able to do so for $600. The technician even offered to bring in the equipment in his truck for additional $120. There was no check done on the equipment nor was there an attempt made to repair it. I do not think the technician was even prepared or had any alternative equipment that could have repaired or replaced.

For this advice the technician charged me $120. All I was left with an impression that the technician wanted and was looking for ways to extract more money from consumer. This was a terrible experience and I will certainly not recommend to any of my friends.

Later I contacted another plumbing company (K.E. Greene Mechanical/Hydronics) and they were able to replace the part, fix the water heater for the same price. They even worked with the manufacture so that I am not charged as the product is covered under warranty.

My Advise: Stay away from them! They are not even worth a penny of your hard earned money.

Thanks,
Raghu

Wonderful service. I called them on a Tuesday afternoon and they said that they could have someone at my house within two hours and that they'd give me a half hour notification before they arrive. Less than 2 hours later, I am greeted by Ray. Ray has excellent customer service skills, is educated and technically savvy in the plumbing and drain world, as well as an educator. Not only did he fix my toilet in less than a 10 minutes, but he also informed me on how to further mitigate these problems. Kind, smart and a pro at what he does, I definitely would call Roto-Rooter again and would trust Ray with any of my plumbing and drain services.

Roto Rooter handled my service request professionally and did the job well. The technician came out, explained the issue and made the repair for a leaky fill valve and old flapper. He was courteous and on time. Be aware, however, that you will pay for these services and a 1 year warranty on the work. Total job lasted 10 minutes and the job cost over $350. Just be prepared for a hefty bill at the end of the job.

Don't hire! Roto-Rooter cost us hundreds of unnecessary $$. They installed a new hot water heater after ours busted, without diagnosing the root problem (ironic since rooter is in their name), which was water pressure that was too high. When we started having other problems with our hot water, the first guy they sent said that nothing was wrong. When someone else came out, he immediately diagnosed the problem, but quoted us way too high for a new expansion tank, which we didn't even need (when we got a second opinion). He also quoted us over $400 to replace our sink (which was busted due to the high water pressure), but my husband replaced it in 30 minutes. Seriously, I never write reviews, but Roto-Rooter is a a bunch of crooks.

Roto-Rooter (Atlanta) SUCKS BALLS. They were supposed to do some work for me today. They confirmed that the technical was on his way while I was at work. I left work to meet him at my house. The tech was 30 minute late. When he got here I opened up the garage to let him in but he sat in the truck for 10-15 minute then just drove off. No knock no call. I hate MF that don't do what they say they will do. Particularly when it puts me out of my way.

What a WASTE of time! It took 3 days with no hot water for them to send someone who wouldn't even LOOK at my tankless hot water heater and only tell me I need to replace my unit and they don't do repairs - no rationale and no attempt at even identifying what the problem is. The technician was RUDE and gave 0 F's about helping me fix my problem. I will NEVER call them ever again. DO NOT USE!!!

Troy did in excellent job and was very professional I called many plumbers in my area, and didn't get a quick response. But this company was right on time after 5 days of trying to find someone for my downtown stairs bathroom. Troy came in the next day and got the job done He explained what was causing the damage in a way that my husband and l could understand. He finished the job quickly and accurately. We will contact them again for any plumbing needs . Thank you again Troy

Our pipe from our well pump cracked with water everywhere. Roto-rooter sent a mitigation specialist before even sending a plumber. I had to figure out how to shut the pump and water off myself. The plumber finally arrived and said he didn't have the parts and didn't have time to come back in the morning. Patiently, we worked with dispatch to have someone scheduled for first thing. When the scheduled time came and went, the new dispatcher was extremely rude and told us no one was available and she would let us know.  Roto-rooter has left us without water to a house full of children for 10 hours with the only success at stopping a major leak achieved by our own efforts. Will NEVER use Rot-Rooter again.

Please!! I repeat please do not use these guys! Total scam artist charged me $450 for parts that were covered by warranty company ...parts that cost $75 total ...to add insult to injury' 4 days later the water heater they claimed to fix went out ..upon further inspection they changed one of the heating Elements and not both called them and warranty covered for a new water heater which they  tried to charge me and additional $650 to install which would have brought total to $1700 for a water heater that cost $439 .. I ended up taking it to Home Depot myself and self installing ..took me an hr including draining old heater..these guys are a definite NO and will try to prey on your assumed ignorance and get you for every cent please avoid !! Dishonest and price gouging doesn't even begin to describe them..DO NOT USE THEM !

I called roto rooter to unclog a main drain pipe in our basement.  Juan at Roto-Rooter was extremely polite and knowledgeable.  He was able to unclog the main drain and checked the main line near the street to be sure there were no additional obstructions and water was flowing properly.  We would highly recommend this company to anyone experiencing drainage issues. Thank you Juan and roto rooter!

Will NEVER use this company again. Had Sean-Field Rep come out due to use have water pipe busting at road.. Gave us a quote.. have not heard back from him at all.. then he still charged me same price and did not have to go under driveway..  I get a call from Mrs Harris who states that they are headed back out to finish the work- which was completed.. while she was trying to figure out what they were to be doing,  I shared my experience  and she says she wants to make it right.. well when she found out she called the wrong customer, she said she would call me and NOTHING.. such BS..this company is a joke and will never use again and will share with others not to use them. To many other companies who are reliable, trust worthy, and has better communication with their customers!

I had called a different plumbing company to help resolve a drain issue in my kitchen.  Whatever they did, didn't work and left me with the same problem, but worse, 2 months later.  That's when i decided to call Roto-Rooter.  I'm not normally a fan of talking on the phone, their website allowed me to book my appointment (selected my time and all!) online and sent a prompt email confirming I'd been added to the schedule.  The day of my appointment, they called 30 minutes in advance to inform me the technician was in route.  Kostadin B. was very polite and gave me time to explain the situation, what work I'd had done previously and my concern.  He explained what he believed the problem to be before he started any work and then explained my options (and prices, including the service coupon I'd found online for $40 off) for solution.  Once i agreed, he got started; the job took about 45 minutes.  He reviewed what he had done, talked to me about preventative measures I could take moving forward and reminded me Roto-Rooter works comes with a 6 month work guarantee warranty (should I have this problem again, within 6 months, i can call for them to come back out).  Overall, I'm very satisfied with the work done and if i need a plumber again (really hoping i don't!!), i'll definitely call Roto-Rooter.

They showed up prepared for covid. The plumber wasn't sure what was wrong with my sink and quoted me $475.   The blockage was simple and did not need a snake and I ended up doing it myself pregnant and all. I would suggest using your local plumber before wasting your money with these people.

Roto-rooter was the only company that was able to get a plumber out to me on the same day, so that was good. However, the tech was not very personable (not really a requirement, but nice to have) and the price seemed outrageous.

However, we had a great experience earlier in the day with a restoration services guy who worked with roto-rooter, and he had helped us to figure out what we needed to do to fix things. However, he didn't recommend filing an insurance claim, and apparently in the company's eyes he should have, which is dumb. I really, really appreciated the help that he gave us, and the fact that he saved us literally thousands of dollars. Then the plumber who came out called the awesome guys boss and tried to get the awesome guy in trouble.

Personally, I will avoid Roto-rooter in the future, but if you have an emergency and these are the only guys that can come out, they will get the job done, but it's going to cost an arm and a leg.

My rating is 100% based on price. I had a clogged drain due to a garbage disposal that needed to be reset. I informed the tech what had happened and that it should be a simple job, but I just wasn't sure how to repair myself. He quoted me $350 which I assumed was bc he saw a bigger problem than I did, so I hesitantly signed the form. He was done in about 10 min and it actually took longer to write up the invoice than it did to do the repair. After I asked for some negotiation on price, he explained that it would've been the same price even if the repair had taken hours. They charge by the call not the difficulty or time of the service. He offered me a $60 discount bc I think he even felt guilty charging me almost $400 for the simplest of jobs (but kept explaining it's company policy and not up to his discretion). So for a grand total of $333 I was left with an unclogged drain and a sick-to-my-stomach feeling that has remained until this morning while I write this review. Beware, don't use this company for simple jobs or better yet, just find a local company who doesn't try and get away with hwy robbery! I know I won't make this mistake again.

After looking at other reviews, I see this is company to standard to rip people off. I hope you are reading this review BEFORE contacting them instead of AFTER as you write your own 1-star review (which has nothing to do with service or quality of work but simply bc of the outrageous pricing) My boyfriend also informed me we could have replaced our own disposal system 4x for the price of using Roto-Rooter.

We had a blackwater flood in the back half of the house.  I called Roto-Rooter to do the remediation.  Field Supervisor Brad Wallace came to my house and made many promises that he did not keep.  The top three were:

1.  He promised a crew out to my house between 7:30 and 8:00 - They did not get there until after 12.  Brad said his boss had called them to another job in SW Atlanta.  When I talked to that boss after calling corporate, he said no, the tech had a flat and another was on the way.  He would be there by 10:00 AM.  He never showed.  As a result I lost a contract job because I could not be to the event on time.  I am paying to loose pay.

2. Brad promised they would remove all the carpet from the affected rooms, the base board and the bottom two feet of wall board  as well and move the contents to my garage or any where else I wanted that was not outside.  I had to fight to get them to move anything to the garage.  They threw the American flag on the floor like a rag.

3.  Brad gave me his cell number and told me to call if I had any concerns.  When I called on these issues, he gave me a choice of letting them do the job their way or he would pull the crew and bill us for the time spent.  He had no desire to work with me to either help me understand or make me happy.

Three hours into the project the carpet sections that they are willing to remove are gone and a small cabinet has been removed.  They have taken the position that the tile does not need to come up even though the source of the black water was, under the tile because of protocol?!?!  It will be taken up because I am demanding it and for no other reason.  Anything to avoid doing the job right!

I am worried that I will have problems in the near future if I don't do additional work myself.  I am sorry I ever heard the phrase roto-rooter.   I have no confidence that they have the first clue what they are doing.  I am convinced that Brad Wallace has no idea and is more interested in turning a sale than doing right by the customer.  I offered the corporate customer service rep Pat Swanson the chance to respond and did not seem interested until she gets the letter I am sending her.  I, like Pete F. feel violated, abused and taken advantage of.

The only positive experience.....working with Tony M. - Service Technician #4333. If Tony decided to branch out and start his own plumbing business, I would be his customer for life!!! Please note: the remaining portion of this review should be of no reflection of Tony. He was the very positive light in this overall experience.

As for the experience prior to interacting with Tony, words can not describe the disappointment. The first technician Guy provided a review of the problem and promised to return to finalize the project. He did not write down the make and model number of the hot water heater which resulted in a delay, and said he would come to the house to do the work but postponed and did not return as promised . He said he would have the replacement of the heater done that day and yes, you guessed it. The representative never returned to our home to complete the work and refused to return our numerous phone calls. Second problem, the young lady from the Roto Rooter appointment center was VERY rude when we called to follow up on the situation. She stated the company attempted to contact us and we did not answer the phone. Basically, we were to blame. Hmmm...here is an idea...leave a voicemail. She also had a smart mouth sassy answer telling me if I don't like their level of service, and that they did not leave us the voice mail, that we could pursue another  company to do the work. Terrible customer service as we were not valued at all as customers. And to top it off....the extreme pricing to conduct the service. I priced the materials and supplies used to complete the work and we were WAY overcharged. Nevertheless, if the overall experience was much better, I would be ok with paying a little more.

Tony - Thank you for such wonderful service. Let us know if you decide to branch out on your own!

I had a Clogged toilet that Juan came and fixed for me.  He also went above and beyond to give me tips on how I may prevent the issue in the future.  I took 1 star off because they were here only 10 days prior and did the same thing.  I had to pay again because I was told the treatment only had a 7 day warranty! I was upset about that, but he did give me a 50% discount this time for the service.  With the extra tips he gave, I really hope this does not happen again.

The scheduling, customer service and professionalism of plumber who came to the house is unparallelled.  He was very knowledgeable, friendly, gave me options to address my problem and was happy to do what I chose.  The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is because I still find these type of companies quite expensive - however, I understand from previous experience you usually get what you pay for.

My water heater exploded all over my brand new floors, as a first time home owner you can imagine my frustration.  I called Roto Rooter, they came out, replaced the water heater, and told me a spout that was in the closet also needed replacing as well as some pipes and we had to add an expansion tank.  This happened March of last year and I paid my $3500 bill and went about my way.  Fast forward to today, I had a leaky toilet and called a local plumber to come take a look, we got to chatting and I asked him about things I should watch for so my floors don't get damaged for a third time and he asked where my water heater was, I told him I just had it replaced.  He looked at it, said it was a generic brand from home depot, not what he'd recommend but it'll do the trick.  He asked how much I was charged for it and was appalled to find out how much I paid.  I tried to justify it by telling them all the work they had done in there (expansion tank, new piping, new on/off valve) and he told me his cost for all of that would be $1300.  He then proceeded to call two other plumbers in the area and they quoted $1450, and $1500... to say I feel completely taken advantage of is an understatement.  Please don't be like me and fall for this scam of a company.  I will never be fooled again.  My fault for not getting other quotes, but shame on you Roto Rooter for taking advantage of your customers like this.

My experience is based on terrible service and very expensive.  Run away and do not use them.
Plumber was alex and tried to fix a sink in my home.  Charged me 350 + parts and said he would return in 2 days and replace from a part he had to purchase. I had 3 other small jobs to fix in the home which he did and I paid for all of it. I had a leak that was identified and required a new water main to run to my home.
The plumber had no experience with this and could not repair a simple sink faucet.  He called another plumber from roto rooter because of my new pipe that had to be run.  They quoted me $7800.  I had a second opinion and it was fixed within 4 hours for $2300.  I have asked for a refund on my sink but no response from the corporate office.

Terrible company, horrible inexperienced plumbers who should not be in the business.  I had 2 other opinions due to the major problem in my home and both disagreed with roto rooters.

I've been waiting 2 days straight for someone from this company to show up at my house for a plumbing service and have yet seen anyone at my door. They made me an apt from 4pm-6pm and have some nerve to call me at 8:30pm stating they are stuck on another job site so they won't be able to make my appointment. That has been the excuse for the last two days now. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone even if your toilet exploded because you would wait a life time waiting on them to come repair. What a joke rotor-rooter is.

I scheduled an appointment online which was very easy. The tech arrived within my two hour appointment window. He took care of my water issue and answered all of my questions. The price was competitive and I wouldn't hesitate to call them again. Very satisfied customer!

Service was fine and job was completed.  Problem is with the pricing which was $399 (minus a $40 coupon I had) to clear a laundry drain which took about an hour.  My fault for not researching it prior to contacting them.  But after checking Craig's and Angie's list and contacting several similar resources learned that the average cost for such service is between $175 and $200. Lesson learned NEVER CONTACT ROTO-ROTTER again.  Overprized by 100%.  I contacted them immediately after and while the gentleman I spoke with showed empathy, all he could do was pass the information to corporate so that they are aware of their pricing difference in town.

Called Roto-Rooter when the tub wouldn't turn off. Called every two hours pushing the appointment. When they did arrive, refused to look at the problem. Don't call them. They leave you in an endless loop of uncertainty. Call a real plumber.

Do not use this company!! $495 to snake a kitchen sink is a complete ripoff... When the tech arrived I met him at his van. I told him that the sink needed to be snaked & that's it.. Without even coming up to my condo to Assess the situation he said it would be $495.  I told him that's ridiculous, I was only charged around $150 In the past.  I tried to call and speak with a supervisor and was told they were at home today!  What a joke!!

On Friday October 26th 2018, I used Roto-Rooter services to unclog the toilet in our upstairs bathroom. A technician came in and performed the service. While he was in the bathroom upstairs with my wife, he asked if we had another bathroom downstairs to which my wife replied yes. He then told her that he had to go back to his truck to get additional tools, left and came back a few minutes later.
After he was done with unclogging the toilet, he told my wife that our water pressure was too high (something that we have never experienced any issues prior) and proceeded to take her out in our backyard to show her a tool that indicates water pressure using the gardening hose. He then suggested that we replace the pipes connected to our water heater inside the garage. My wife told her that she needed to check with me. He left her an estimate with his personal cellphone number to contact him if we wanted to make the upgrade.
Later on that day, I returned from work and decided to use the toilet downstairs. To my surprise I heard a very loud noise (like a pneumatic drill) after I flushed the toilet. I immediately contacted Roto-Rooter and they sent another technician within a couple of hours. The technician did not know why the toilet was making that loud noise and proceeded to call the first technician who did the repair that morning. He had the phone on speaker and I clearly heard him telling the new technician to close the valve under the toilet. After that the noise stopped.
Unfortunately, your service has now caused more problems as we have discovered a burst pipe in the front yard. Now I am looking at repairs in the thousands.

Way overpriced service charge.  7 minutes labor to install a $25 part, wanted to charge me $420.  I ended up paying $350.  Still 200% overpriced.  Never again.  Plus they missed their 4 hour window by an hour.   Technician was great BTW.

We had a clogged drain in our store. We called for service on Friday night. We were told a plumber could come 7:30 am Saturday morning. We had our manager there at 7:30 (although our store opens at 11:00), but no one showed up until 9:30. When they showed up they told us no one had even told them they were supposed to be there at 7:30.

We anticipated the cost to be a couple of hundred dollars. Many plumbers have coupons for $99 guaranteed fixes for clogged drains. Our cost was about $1,900. Felt like a rip-off! Then they tried to sell me a maintenance agreement for over $2,300/year to prevent further clogs. I feel violated. Very dissappointing.
I called the manager to see if he can reduce the price to something mroe reasonable. I'll update this review pending the outcome.

UPDATE 9/15/14 : Roto Rooter agreed they had over-charged us and gave us a $300 refund. However, they also offered to help us camera the line again to show the landlord there is a problem with the line -- at no cost.

The ONLY reason I gave them one star is because they are persistent when it comes to calling you every other hour to tell you they are running behind. However, it has been weeks of the same excuse and rescheduling... Also, who in there right mind is going to stay up past midnight for Roto Rooter? Not I. RR, stop calling people after hours unless you specifically tell them that you will be calling after 10pm at night. My bedtime is 9pm, and I took off work for your flawed window and in my world running a little behind does NOT equate to over 8 hours behind or in this case days Sincerely, A fool that's still waiting for you to show up

The toilet in my guest bathroom had been leaking for several days due to a crack in the tank which I was not aware of.  When I finally discovered the leak, the bathroom was flooded. I called the first company that came to mind and that was my mistake! The first two gentlemen that came out advised me that it was not a plumbing issue but they could do the water removal and cleanup. They drained the tank and toilet and turned the water off.

The second two young men came to do water cleanup and remove damaged floors and baseboards. A few days later, one came back to check the drying, and at some point turned the water in that bathroom back on not knowing it had not been repaired. There was also urine in the toilet. He said nothing to me about it and continued to pack the drying equipment into his truck. My instinct told me to check the bathroom because he was in there for a long period of time with the door closed, and closed the door when he came out. That's when I realized that the water was pouring out of the tank again. I truly believe that had I not gone into that bathroom he would have left and not said a word to me about it leaking again and I would not have known until it completely flooded again.

When I confronted him about using the bathroom and turning the water back on he denied it and said he just flushed it because urine was in it. If that were true, why didn't he tell me that the water was leaking again when he noticed it?  No one had been in that bathroom since it was drained except him and his partner. I had to tell him to go and drain the water back out of the tank before it flooded again, and the urine!

He continued to deny that he had used the bathroom so I requested to speak with his manager. I explained the situation and the manager was defensive, dismissive and condescending and acted as if he was annoyed that I was bothering him with the issue. I called corporate and could only leave a voicemail and five days later, no one has returned my call.

There were more issues, but this review is already too long!!!

I will never use this company again nor do I recommend any one else using them.

We had a disaster of a plumbing situation occur after normal business hours so my options were limited to begin with, however Roto rooter received good reviews and I decided to give them a shot. They were super nice on the phone, but had to give the typical 4 hour Window, which in our case was from 7-11 PM, and someone will call you 30 minute upon arrival. Although late, there was no way we could allow said situation not be fixed, so I went with it.

By 11:30, I had not heard a word. So I called. I am informed that the guy is stuck on another job and should be heading my way in the next 20 minutes. So I out my phone in the loudest possible ringtone, and off I doze, only to wake up an hour later, still now word. I call again. This time they tell me that the plumber is on his way. 45 minutes goes by... Nothing. I call again... For the third time at 1 in the morning to get told that the plumber has already been here.... Um hello? If I am calling at 1 am, chances are it's because nobody has showed up yet!

So after another 30 minutes of nothing, we get a call saying the guy is broken down and can't make it. I understand that sometimes things happen.... But after three hours of excuses and BD, how convenient!?

They sent Stefan out the next morning, who was alert incident and helpful. He fixed our situation but was unaware of the situation that had occurred the night/morning of.

If I could rate him, he'd get 4 starts, but this company won't be on my list of people to use again. What a shame.

These guys stepped up and took ownership of a problem that I couldn't get fixed by other plumbers. (My dishwasher had water collecting at the bottom. Previous plumbers I'd called said it was an appliance problem and wouldn't work on it. After buying a new dishwasher, I found out the expensive way that those other guys were wrong.)

When Kostadin came out, he didn't just use the snake--he was cautious that doing so could damage my neighbor's pipes. Instead, he spent time with the problem and went further than the official job list to take the drain pipes apart and find a solution. He showed me everything he was doing -- really, this guy could be an instructor. He got the pipe assembly back together so that the water now drained properly. And all this was fast and fairly priced.

Always good when you call someone who wants to solve problems.

Received bad service. After repairing my kitchen sink the faucet is still not secured. On the top of that repair guy damaged my hardwood floor making dents, leaving his heavy duty light behind as he was rushing out of the house. I spoke with Luis in corporate office and sent him pictures, no response at all. Even after another email no response, nothing. Will stay far away from this company, you should too.

I needed some work done quick and this company was able to come out and take care of it. The guy that came out took a look at my home and started throwing out outrageous prices for work sooo I just shut up and focused on what I needed done at the moment. Which was a sinkhole pipe that extended outside cut a capped. He quoted me 200$ I smiled and said ok. Took about 5 min. So he wrote bill up and I mentioned that the office told me if I gave 2 can goods it would take 75$ off my bill. The gentlemen looked shocked that I knew anything about this. He explained to me that this didn't qualify for that if he had done a major job like a toilet or PRV it could apply which he told me cost (PRV 900$) hmmm. So I said ok and paid him.  I was curious so I called the main office and they explained to me that the work I had done did qualify there were not sure why he said that . I was told they would contact him and find out why and I would receive w call back. So when I gat the call back I was told he explained that the job was really almost 400$ and he took off the 75$ that's why it was 200$. So my response was that he was lying first why is the total not on receipt showing the 75$ deduction. Second why explain to me that my job did not qualify for the 75$ off. Then you make up such a lie when none of the paperwork or conversation match. Is sad that some companies have employees with no honesty and integrity. I will never use this company again and hopefully anyone reading this will it either. I would like to say thank you to the office manager Darlene for her professionalism and great customer service.

Easter Sunday....and the main home sewer line is plugged....tree roots....and family on their way over to visit and eat. Didn't hesitate to call Roto-Rooter. Rowan showed up in less than an hour and had the line clear within an hour. He was professional and thorough and was sure to follow up for our complete satisfaction.

First of all I would like to say that Greg was unbelievably awesome! He had to come to the house three times, but he was beyond patient each time. I was told by another worked that my PRV had to be replaced, but Greg tested it and said everything was fine. He discovered the problem, explained what had to be done and did it! The part wasn't something your company carried, so he told me he had to go and pick one up. He came back the next day, put the parts on the tub and discovered they were defected. He told me he would locate them somewhere else and he DID! Greg is the BEST and so are you all! Thanks again!

This place is a 100% joke. Came out a year and 2 months ago, took $800 of our money with a smile on their face. They OBVIOUSLY installed our Sump Pump incorrectly, made a bad joint in the PVC, now it's leaking.

REFUSED to help us in any way, because It's out of warranty. Yeah, TWO MONTHS past their labor warranty. In an economy like we are experiencing right now, they REFUSE to just replace their part.

STAY AWAY from these crooks.

I called Roto Rooter for a clogged up toilet thinking this was the company my husband used a couple of years ago.  When I called them they said thanks repeat customer so I thought I  was right.  We paid about $ 300 to unstop before.  So this plumber comes out and he seems nice but he has me working for him like I am the assistant ... and I work from home so he is interrupting my work... go turn this faucet on .. go to the basement and do this... whew can I get an assistant pay?  But the worst part is he tells me that the issue was some excess toilet tissue clogging the pipes and hands me a bill for $629!!!  What for toilet tissue clog!!! ...so I am a woman in the house alone with this large man saying give me $629 to get excess toilet  tissue out of your drain .., so of course I paid .  Total rip off!  When I called the company office back they said oh no I wasn't a repeat customer i had just called before... so it wasn't the company my hubby wanted me to call anyway .   I said your plumber charged me $629 for clogged tissue does that sound right?  The lady was rude and said we charge by the job .., um okay then easy question then does it sound right fir clogged tissue?  She rudely said yes I think so.   Stay far away from this company unless you are a man or a woman whose husband is home ... so You won't be intimidated to pay an obscene cost for toilet tissue unclogging.  I will no longer let any male service person in my home unless my husband or teen son is there . I gave 2 stars because at least he got tissue out .

When my water bill went up almost 3 times the amount we normally pay, we knew we needed a plumber. With so many companies to choose from, I'm very happy we decided on Roto-Rooter. I'm sure most plumbers from most companies know their stuff and can do quality repairs. But I'm VERY big on excellent customer service and that's what I got. As soon as Mike came through the door, he was warm and friendly but also very professional and went straight to work, identifying the problem, fixing it and explaining everything in the process. I really appreciated his services. I hope I won't need a plumber again any time soon, but if I do, I'll be calling Roto-Rooter again asking for Mike Walker!

The only reason for the lack of the fifth star is that Roto-Rooter, as I already knew when I called, is more expensive than other plumbing services. But I only had a small window to fit in the appointment, and they reliably got someone over pretty quickly. Ivo, the technician they sent out, was very personable and professional. He figured out the problem quickly. Great experience.

I had a toilet rebuild done last week and the plumber left a complete mess behind. He didn't clean up at all. There is brown stains of god knows what and black smudges  all over the toilet cover, shower curtain, trashcan & floor. The sink and bathtub also had black stuff in it as if he washed out his parts, hands etc in there. I called the company to express my concerns and was told a manager would call me back. He called back and asked for pictures which I sent. He told me I don't see any thing really significant to send the plumber back to clean up and our plumbers usually don't carry bleach or anything to clean up. WHAT? I told him that it doesn't matter small or big. My bathroom didn't look like this before the job and it is very unacceptable and unprofessional that the plumber left a mess behind. We had to throw out the curtain and trash can. Also had to scrub the bathtub and sink(seems like the plumber washed out something in my tub). He apologized and said he would speak with the plumber. No empathy at all. He even sounded a little irritated that I even complained.

Terrible cons!  I called for a main drain clean.  The online the special ran for $95.  The guy comes 1.5 hrs late.  He says in order to clear the drain he has to access it through the toilet.  He says the $95 price is for outside access only and quoted $530!!  What!?  The main line is under the house with straight access to the street.  It's slightly lower than street level, so I've had this problem twice before.  They've always accessed the line from under the house.   What jerks!
Also, the dude couldn't even find the access line by the street.  He said there wasn't one.  Really?  Omg, I had to direct him.  Once he accessed it, he said there were roots in the line and there's nothing he can do about them.  That's news to me.  Needless to say, I had him leave and called another plumber.  The next plumber hydro cleared the line and said he could take care of the roots...  if there were any, but there weren't!  There was nothing visible when I looked down the tube and he showed me with a camera that the line was clear.  He charged $300.  Mr. Rooter's price quote was only to snake the line, not hydro clean it or use a camera.  It's why I hate using big companies...  like Mr. Plumber who quoted $1,500 to change out the interior of our 5 toilets ($300 ea).  You know a kit costs $20 and I can do it myself, right? Jeesch!

Let me start off by saying Kostadin Bogdanov with Roto-Rooter IS THE MAN!! I have never written a review before, but I felt the need to do so so that I could brag on how amazing Kostadin was. He came out to my house on a service call to address a clogged pipe/ potential broken pipe. Prior to starting any work, Kostadin took the time to listen to my explanation to fully understand the back story. He then assessed the situation and explained my options to me. He was very polite and very detailed and made it easy for me to understand. He also clearly presented me with my options and the cost of each and was even nice enough to give me the old If this were my house, this is what i would do... The issue is now fixed, and I will definitely be using Roto-Rooter in the future if I every have any more plumbing related needs.

Scammers. That's all they are. Between my dad and I we've given Roto-Rooter our business for well over 10 years. While they've never been the cheapest plumbers by far, over the years they seemed to at least get the job done.

Well, their recent visit was the last straw for me. Our sump pump in the basement had issues and was shooting water out like a waterfall. My first instinct was that there must be a hole in it. And sure enough the tech gets here and confirms and shows me that there's a hole in the hose. He gives me a verbal quote for $269 + parts (a new hose) and literally tells me I give you no discount and we up-charge is that ok? Honestly this is where I should've kicked him out of my home. I was confused by his discount statement especially since I mentioned nothing about one. I initially agreed to him doing the work and he gave me a blank invoice to sign. As he headed to Home Depot to get the hose I started having second thoughts because honestly something just didn't feel right. Over $300 for just a hose replacement? I priced the hoses online and the exact one that was in my basement was only $11. At this point I realize how ridiculous of a quote that is for such an easy fix and I decided I'd do it myself.

So I call the main office back and ask them to contact the tech and cancel the job. They claim they spoke with him on the other line and cancelled the service. By the time I'm getting in my car about to head to Home Depot and get the hose myself the tech pulls back up in the driveway with the new hose. I explain the situation to him and he tells me that he never received a call from anyone to cancel. After explaining it to him he seems frustrated and asks me so what's the problem. I tell him the problem is the price and I don't feel like $300 is reasonable for just a hose replacement. Then he tells me No, no it's not just the hose, it's the pump too. The pump is dirty and not pumping properly I have to clean it out ok....he NEVER mentioned anything about the pump until now only the hose.

So at this point I agree to the job bc I'm believing he's actually going to repair the pump and not just switch out a hose for $300. Nope. I literally stand there and watch him do the job and he literally only changes the hose. Took him all of 5 minutes. Never once attempted to clean the pump/motor like he said he'd be doing. All he did was pour water into the hole where the pump is which gets it started. He literally did nothing but switch out the hoses. So of course I have an issue with this. I called Roto-Rooter and they get a manager on the line. I explain my issue and they tell me to ask the tech to call his manager so I can explain to him. The plumber gets upset and wants to argue with me and justify his price, gets more upset and storms to his car....I go back inside and finish talking to the manger on my end.

They basically tell me since he's already done the work I have to talk to his manger on his end about it. After the tech's temper tantrum he rings my bell and hands me his phone with his manager on the line. Long story short the manager apologizes to me and chalks it up to being a language barrier (the technician had an accent) ..and offered me a $100 discount. While I do think there may have been somewhat of a disconnect in communication I also believe he 100% knew exactly wtf he was doing.

The final invoice the tech shows me, he writes on there that he made adjustments to/cleaned the pump + changed the hose. When I asked him when did he exactly repair/clean the pump bc he definitely didn't do it as I watched him....he gets combative but can't answer the simple question. The reality is he didn't do crap but change a hose and charged me an insane amount for it. The $100 discount still left me with a $214 bill. Before leaving, the tech tried to make light of the situation and asked if I was happy now. I told him no I'm not. Then he says next time I'll give you a good discount.....I told him there won't be a next time. And there absolutely won't be. Roto-Rooter and their scammy business practices will NEVER step foot in my home again. They've lost a longtime customer.

Well...it started off good. It was Easter Sunday when my basement evacuation pump failed .... it was a complete disaster in 15 mins.... I lost my entire basement. Called root rooter and then sent a fantastic plumber by the name of Troy, he was great! On time, efficient, friendly, and well qualified. He did what he could but of course they had to call in the clean up crew... well they promised the world.... found out my cap on insurance and immediately that was the exact amount they needed. I called around and found much cheaper contractors. They tore up vents in the wall fo air conditioner instead of unscrewing 4screws....the smashed light plates that were 4 feet above the drywall they had to cut out. They then sprayed and brought in the dryers for a week 15 dryers in all that ran up electric bill a lot, but insurance reimbursed me. They removed the dryers and said their job was done....leaving behind two huge air conditioner insulation filled with urine and other nasty stuff. They sent a bill stating they new insurance had sent out a check...however they were not able to call me back when I left several messages stating the basement still smelled like raw sewage and there was waste back up in the kitchen sink in basement....I informed them that insurance did send a check and I would pay them when they finished the job. Needless to say corporate called with threats over the money. It took another two weeks to get them out here, they still haven't fixed the problem completely. One delay after another it's now been two months. Contractor can't start until roto rooter finishes their part. Who knows when that will be. What makes me so mad is the threats in their letters over payment. They are nice in the beginning but only until they know insurance has cut a check. Do not hire them. It's money racket.

First, they quoted $379 to replace a water-shutoff valve at the toilet. They went down to $300, stating we were only paying for materials and labor.  I  refused their services as the homeowner because I knew what the issue was and the cost of the materials needed, but my house guest insisted on paying the padded amount. In a bind, I would never call of them again. Ridiculous price gouging for 20 minutes worth of work.

Great Job!!! Dan (#3407) showed up on time and came the same day I called for an appointment which was on a Saturday. What I like most about Dan was he explained each and every required repair to me in detail and did not just take off when he finished. He showed me all repaired equipment and tested each and every faucet and toilet in the house before he left. He also did not leave a huge mess in my garage and my repairs. I will certainly use RotoRooter again and I will certainly request Dan. It is so obvious that good customer service is important to Dan. Thanks again!!!

I have been in a long process with roto rooter and it hasn't gone well. I had a back up, they sent out someone to clean it out. it was cleaned out for a few days and then started backing up again so they didn't fully get it out. They have a warranty so I called, they sent out someone else who said he couldn't cover the warranty as it had to be the original person. he tried to charge me another $800. The original person came out and said we need to schedule a camera to be sent down the line. 7 days later I have called repeatedly and they keep telling me the camera guy is coming and he never does. I still think there is a clog in the line, but they aren't trying to fix that. So, so far I have spent $600 and my lines are still backed up flooding my house periodically. I keep calling and no one is showing up. My bathroom and basement keeps flooding with sewage water two weeks since they first sent someone to out to fix it.

Stefan and his partner arrived and had our drain fixed within the hour. They were both very professional and kept us informed on what they were doing each step of the way. Payment was easy and safe and the price was very reasonable. We will definitely call on Roto-Rooter again if we need their help.

We had three toilets replaced by Roto-Rooter, and the experience was very efficient.  In addition, I had to obtain a detailed receipt for the toilets themselves in order to obtain a rebate from Cobb County Water & Joanne in the Atlanta office was extremely helpful in this regard.  I always call Roto-Rooter for my plumbing needs!

Don't know what location it was but Roto Router Will rip you off. I had an emergency and they came out quickly and solved the initial problem but quoted me on other work that had to be done to stop a reoccurrence. Their price was almost 10 times what I got it done for. Turns out this is common knowledge in the plumbing industry. You're better off using a local plumber.

After they did not show up the day they we suppose to. I got a call for RR and they saw my review. They had a tech at my house on time and fixed the problem the next day. The tech David was very good. I hope in the future that they realize that I apologize but there is nothing I can do. Is not good enough. Give a solid answer and make sure you back it up. I do it everyday at my job. They did that the 2nd time around and that's good enough for me. I would use again.

Called them to come out to give a estimate. Man knew I couldn't do it myself because I I'm handicap and he completely took advantage of me. Even had the nerve to tell me he gave me a $100 Dollar discount installed $40 dollars worth of parts and $260.00 dollars labor total $310.00 and was at my house 40 minutes and like I said he was going to charge $410.00.  The water was leaking a little had me right where he wanted me if you want to keep it honest call someone else!!!!

So, they missed the initial window but sent me a coupon for a discount off their services. With that, I thought I'd give them another shot.

They showed up on time the second time around. The plumber they sent was personable and helpful. Adding a star for him. Their prices though are higher than you'd expect (600+ for replacing a flange, 400+ for a repair of one).

The office personnel were fantastic, very pleasant. Called to let me know that their serviceman would arrive within 45 minutes.  Serviceman calls within 20 minutes to inform me that we would have to reschedule for the following day, because he needed to go to Home Depot to pick up a part  This is when I let him know that I still needed an estimate.( I had a hot water supply leak in the bathtub) He went on to tell me how we needed to go ahead a replace everything. How much will that be, I asked. $345. I am not going to replace everything, lets just get the leak fixed. His response was that it was still going to be $345. Needless to say, I declined. I just wonder how he knew exactly what part to pick up at Home Depot, when he never looked at my issue.

This company gets 0 stars! If you need major water or sewer repair. Don't deal with these folks! Anything other than a very basic plumbing like clog sink or tub drain they have no knowledge about any other plumbing.
Site management fails to admit they can't complete a complex plumbing job but is real good at giving the run around and speaks in bold letters of confidence!  I wasted an entire day of having a crew of 2 that were clueless about water line work and having to wait for another crew whom never  showed up to my house later on that day
I'm basically without water in my house for 2 days and having to call a real plumbing company and miss work because of their dishonesty and ineptness! Thanks for screwing me over! I'll make this a lesson learned.

While initially I thought I was happy with the prompt service, quick fix and affordability, I wish now I had taken my business elsewhere.  A main ground leak we thought they fixed three months ago reappeared this week. When we called them again, they did send out a technician who was floored by the shoddy work done by the initial technician, saying  you would never fix a pipe this way!  The second repair was free, but we want a credit for the high water bill the past three months for the job they Didn't fix the first go around!

We installed a clawfoot tub ourselves and the right supply line kept popping loose and spraying water all over the bathroom after a few uses.  After finally just turning the supply off, I've been without a bath for a few months now (don't worry--I've been taking showers).  I called Roto-Rooter because I had a great experience with them when I lived in Alabama.  Scheduling the appointment was easy.  I was given a window of 8am-10am on the day of service.  The technician, Stefan, arrived promptly around 8am (after I was given a 30 minute courtesy call).  There was no waiting around for hours and having no idea when they would arrive, which I appreciate so much.  He checked out the tub and reinstalled the supply lines.  I told him I was worried since every time we repaired it ourselves, it would detach after a couple of months.  He assured me that his work was covered by a 6 month warranty.  To reattach the lines it cost $125. The whole process was quick and painless.  He also said he liked our aquarium so that's a plus, too.  He was super friendly and professional.  I would not hesitate to recommend Roto-Rooter to anyone looking for a professional and reasonably priced plumbing service.

I had a leak from out water line just outside my house where the line connects to the house so I called Roto-Rooter for assistance. The salesman was out within a couple of hours that morning and was very nice and professional. He quoted me $1475 to find the leak and repair it. I paid and by 12 PM they had a tech on site to repair the problem. Two hours later, the job was finished and the tech was gone... but he left me with his digger tracks all over my sidewalk and driveway. One might think that for $737 an hour the tech would clean up his mess.. now I'm stuck with it.. BTW: he dug up two of my shrubs around the  water line and didn't return them to their spots but instead stuffed them under my Japanese Maple. This was a HUGE hit job on the customer.. no way this should have cost $1475 for two hours work.. no way. Yep, I did get a completed job and they came out and did the job the same day.. but in the end.. they ripped me.

I'm changing their rating to a one star as a result of their custom service  follow up. Pat Swanson, their Customer Satisfaction Manager, made a request that I contact him about the issue and he then forwarded my response to him to the General Manager Lance Chapman, who called me within a few hours.. Mr Chapman accepted no accountability or responsibility for the damages to my sidewalk and driveway. Furthermore he stated that it their business practice was to use set price quotes that would cover the costliest option efforts without consideration if the job effort is far less; it's just their gain when they complete the job in a small fraction of the effort estimated. He used an example where their charges are for three to four hours but the work was completed in fifteen minutes but they still charged $600 with no adjustment. He also stated that I could have hired a local plumber down the street to do my job for $100 to $200 easily. For me it was less than two hours work for one person and was charged $1500.

I received terrible service from Roto-Rooter today. When my hot water heater went out on Friday night (12/28) I called Saturday(12/29) morning at 9am to make an appointment with this company. Their earliest availability was Sunday(12/30) between 11am-3pm. I accepted that appointment. After the initial conversation I got on the phone with Rheem Manufacturers who then gave me the information about my HWH and that it was under warranty and parts would be covered. I then called Roto-Rooter back on Saturday evening to inform them that my machine was under warranty and definitely needed to be replaced per Rheem. I provided the dispatcher with the model & serial number of my exact unit so they would be prepared for my appointment on Sunday. I explained to her that the unit has to be replaced and she said yes ma'am they will replace it. I also left my contact information  again Incase anyone had more questions. The next morning, Sunday, the morning of my appointment, I called Roto-Rooter again to confirm all information was received about the HWH and to confirm if they would replacing it. I spoke to a male named Ola(sp?) who reassured me that they would have my kind of water heater and be ready to install a new one. Fast forward to 11:40am the technician shows up to my home for our appointment and not only does he not have a replacement heater he knows nothing about the calls I made to Roto-Rooter to ensure that my experience would be handled efficiently. He mentions that kind heater cannot be found on a Sunday because places are closed. Basically we are going on night 2 of not having hot water and a enormous waste of time. While the technician was there I called the Roto-rooter line and spoke to a supervisor who said he would call the technician to get to the bottom of this and update me. It's been 3 hours no call back and I basically had no choice but to cancel service because the stores that carried my model HWH are closed. Thanks for nothing but more stress to an already stressful situation.

I noticed that my toilet has been running for a very long time. When I discovered a leak near the toilet, I went online to the Roto-Rooter website. To my amazement, I was able to make a same day appointment (Sunday-4 p.m.-6 p.m.). They  called to see if the technician could come earlier. I said to them sure. Well the tech came in and also noticed the toilet running. He also noticed that I need to replace my sink. Changing this toilet is going to save us lots of money (old toilet (4.2 gallons flush)-new toilet 1.1 gallons). I can't wait until the next water bill.

Ray is very experienced and knowledgeable with 20 years of service.

I joined Yelp specifically to write this review. Do not use Roto Rooter. Their prices are horrific. After showering in the morning I couldn't get the shower to turn off; The handle was not working. I turned off the water to the home and called the first emergency plumber I found online as it was 7:30AM. The plumber came out about 2 hours later (which was within the time frame they gave me) and was not friendly at all. Like someone else said; not a requirement but would have been nice. The most shocking and angering part of the experience was the price. He took apart the handle (which he said was a Kohler but I was later told by a professional that it is a Moen-which you can see on the inside of the handle) and found that there was a small crack in a plastic piece he said cost $10. He said though, that the piece is hard to find. He quoted me $370 to get this piece and fix it. $200 if I got the piece myself. I couldn't imagine paying that so I went to Ferguson's, they ordered the part for me and shipped it overnight for under $6 total. It came with the little .50 cent tool needed and I fixed the handle in 5 minutes for less than $6; as opposed to $370. Their pricing is a total scam and quite frankly it felt like he was trying to rip me off.

I called Roto-rooter for a simple dishwasher installation, and was granted a same day appointment.  I asked at the time of the appointment request for a rough estimate, to which I was told the plumber would have to assess and would provide a quote when he arrived.  I told the customer service agent that I was expecting to pay around $75, as that is what Home Depot would have charged me.

After taking the afternoon off of work to meet the plumber at the house, he arrived on time, and spent all of one minute looking at the dishwasher.  He then proceeded to tell me that the installation fee is $699.  ???!!!???  WHAT???  I could not believe my ears.  I told him that is surely a mistake, as I that is more than the cost of most dishwashers, and that I had said on the phone earlier that I was anticipating around $75. He then told me it is a standard Roto-Rooter rate for the area, and that the fee is not negotiable.

When I called to voice a complaint about having taken the afternoon off of work to learn the insane cost of dishwasher installation, that could have been shared with me on the phone and spared me the time away from my job, I was told by the supervisor that this is the way they have done it for 82 years and they are just fine.  Well...  I am NOT just fine.  I do not have the luxury to take an afternoon away without pay for information that you could have given to me on the phone.

Shame on you for wasting my time, and shame on you even more for being unwilling to even consider that the way you did business 82 years ago might just need a bit of fine tuning.

Called Roto Rooter about a leak repair on Monday morning. They said I'd have a tech between 2 and 5:00pm:
*At 3 they called and said they were running late.
*At 5they called and you said running late.
*At 7 they called and said they could still send a guy, or could come out first thing in the morning (I would be first stop). I said fine and they said between 10 and 12.
*At 10am the next day they called and said they were running late.
*Called back at 2 and said they were running late.
*Called back at 5 and gave some BS about a leak specialist needed to call and schedule an appointment (this is Xmas eve so the tech obviously didn't want to come over). They said he'd be calling me shortly.

Never received another call after that. I hope they had a great Xmas eve with family after BS'ing me!

I'm now searching elsewhere for plumbers.

I had a leak in my ceiling so I  contacted this company because I used them twice before. Come to find out, it was just the shower drain that needed replacing, and this guy Alsm changed $1100 for doing less than 15 minutes of work. I was very angry about this, so  I filled a complaint with the company, and my issue was resolved immediately by a very understanding gentleman Louis C. So yes, I will definitely be using them in the future.

Management,

After the experience I've had with your company I will not be using your services ever again. I called yesterday at 7pm to schedule an emergency service call as I had a leak in a basement pipe that required shutting off water to my entire house. I was told a scheduler would be calling within one hour to give me a time. After 2 hours and no call I called you back. I was told there were 3 calls ahead of me but I would be called as soon as possible. Upon waking up at 6am on my only day off I found myself at Home Depot buying the parts and spending hours fixing the problem myself. I finally received a call from you this evening at 9pm telling me they could not make it today. I would advise your company to either provide the service you advertise (24hr service) or quit advertising such service. You have ruined my weekend and this email will be posted on any website I can find.

Regards,

Jason

The entire roto-rooter experience, from the IMMEDIATE ability to dispatch one of their team in the evening hours (without extra service fee), to the unexpected call that they would be able to get someone out HOURS earlier than expected, to the quick and professional work that Stefan provided to get us back up and running at fare less cost than we were fearing, really qualifies this for a SIX STAR review!      Great team of folks and can't tell you how happy we are having called you.  Thank you!

Avoid at all costs if you like your money and want to hire people that respect your property.

I was hesitant to call Roto-Rooter after seeing so many bad reviews online and should have heeded the warnings. My wife and I were having backup in our sewer drain line and had a moderate amount of sewerage water back up into one of our bathrooms which we cleaned up with some towels. I had called another plumber earlier in the day who was unable to remove the blockage. We decided to give someone else a chance and called Roto-Rooter. They said they would be out within 2 hours and called about 1.5 hours later saying they were 30 minutes out. I explained the problem and was told that he needed to snake through the toilet line. He immediately told me it would be $660 to do this work. I had to ask about the cost if he couldn't clear the line. He told me it would be $330 which I thought was ridiculous. Anyway, I authorized the work and he got started. The first thing I noticed was the shoe covers he put on the first time he came in the house never went back on his feet. He walked in and out of our bathroom and through our house without shoe covers after walking in our recently flooded bathroom. I was very clear that this had happened, but no precaution was taken to protect or respect our home. He brought in the snake machine which was too large to fit through our bathroom door. He removed the door and wheeled in the machine. I had towels used to clean up the overflow water on the bathroom floor which he threw into our sink right next our toothbrushes. I couldn't believe that he did that. He knew they were on the floor with the sewage water. He tried to clear the line and was unable to clear it. He immediately tried to sell me a $500 camera service which he said I had to pay for before he left. I told him I didn't want to do that with them. He rolled his machine out (again with no shoe covers on after being on our dirty floor) and reinstalled the door. I paid him his failed job money and he left. I walked back to the bathroom and noticed it was substantially dirtier than before (now there was sewage on the walls around the toilet), there were scrapes on our tiles, and wheels marks on our doors. I called the manager the next day and was told it was not their job to clean up and insisted that the plumber had done their job. Not listening or caring about the disrespect to my home, the call ended with me being even more upset than before. This company does not care about you and will charge you way more than any of your local companies that care about you as a customer.

Do yourself a favor and avoid Roto-Rooter at all costs. They will not treat your home as their own, they will not care about you or your family, and they will charge substantially more than other companies even if they don't fix the problem.

They were great as they came out pretty fast and fix what I needed. But I can tell you that they charge double and almost triple what any other plumber would've charged to come out. Granted they did great work I find it kind of a crappy that they charged what they did even when I ask them if I could get a cheaper quote they would match it and they claim nobody would get one. I even reached out to them after the fact and now they're ignoring me.

Wow, it is not often that I give negative reviews.   I have used them before for clogged drains and was very satisfied.

However, had them replace a toilet seal and and replace 3 feet of pipe.  Total work took almost 30 minutes.

The job was fine - the price shock killed me.   I thought it was $150 for the toilet seal and an extra $50 to bring the total to $200 for the work.   Expensive but I did not want to mess around with a toilet.

Nope it was $150 +$200 + $50 in parts (markup).     These charged me $350 for 30 minutes of work.

Will not use this company again.

If you want to be ripped off this is the place to go!!! I spoke to several plumbers after the repair was finished and I paid 2x more than the going rate AFTER the $40.00 coupon. One plumber suggested I call the local news immediately. It literally took one minute to fix if not less. What kind of scam is this!? I contacted management immediately, I haven't heard anything yet. Hopefully, someone contacts me soon !!!

UPDATE 12/31/15

Spoke to management, the company stood by their outrageous prices. Just to let the public know, they charge $229.00 to auger a toilet  PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH. Other plumbing companies that returned my phone call offered a cost of $75.00. More like 3x the going rate. STAY AWAY!!!!

If I could give them a lower review, I would.

I had a plumbing issue at my rental. The guy came out and quoted me $260 for auguring our toilet. He told me I was lucky that he wasn't charging me $495 since the house was my business and the property was commercial. Well, the property is residential and renting houses is not my business.  Red flags immediately.
He called me about an hour later saying it was going to be $700 because he had looked through his camera and seen the clog was much farther away. I told him to stop doing anything immediately and to bill me for the visit. He became livid and rude. I asked him for a receipt and he told me that he could only leave it with my tenant he could not mail it or email it.
Now, after speaking with my tenant, he was trying to rip me off. She told me he never did anything let alone touch the toilet. Please see the text exchange in my photos. Also, check out their BBB complaints. It's massive.

$299 for a clogged garbage disposal that he spent less then 10 minutes repairing!! I would NEVER EVER recommend using Roto-Rooter for any plumbing needs.  Worst business ethics and severe price gouging that I've ever encountered.

Due to the recent heavy rains, we found that our drains weren't as effective as we wanted them to be.  Big John came out and cleaned them all.  Made the appointment that morning and we were booked and taken care of before the end of business day.  Big John
explained the whole process to me and my very inquisitive children and most importantly got them all cleaned out and ready for the next rain storm.

Thanks!

I called Roto-Rooter on a Saturday evening after I discovered that my hot water heater was leaking.  I spoke w/ 2 different customer service representatives before the 2nd rep. explained to me that Roto-Rooter doesn't sell hot water heaters (was asking about price) but goes and buys on behalf of the customer.  I called back a 3rd time when I was at HD buying the hot water tank b/c I had another question.  This time I spoke w/ Brittney, who, in my opinion, wasn't very happy (the 1st rep. was laughing when she answered the phone and the 2nd one answered all my questions) with my questions (will call, etc.); honestly there was 8 sec. delay for each answer.  I kept wondering if the call was lost.  Anyway, tip for Brittney...at least give the customer the impression that you are concerned!  My appointment was scheduled b/t 8-noon on Sunday and I appreciate the fact that they called to let me know the tech. was running behind (can't stand it when I get no call).  Tony arrived a little after noon.  When he showed me the price to install a gas water heater I almost fell over!  I paid double for the install then what I paid for the hot water heater but what was I to do.  It took Tony over 3 hours to complete the install only to discover that the leak wasn't from the hot water tank but from shower stymes :).  Tony, was professional and I had no problems with him.  I do have a problem with paying $650 to install a gas water heater!

Initially the service was great. They were prompt to respond and got my plumbing issue under control. But when it came time to put my home back together, I noticed that their demo was a bit careless and they're charging my insurance company over $19k and continue to contact me when I've asked that they deal with the insurance company directly. I found out through invoices that they do charge an after hours fee. I paid out of pocket for the person to fix the bathroom toilet. They did that and told me someone else would be over the next day, but the guy came the same night. Around 11pm. And now I know why...so they could charge the after hours fee. They're very expensive regardless of if you have insurance or not so just be careful and read all paperwork thoroughly before allowing them to perform any work and pay attention to everything they're doing so that you can match it up against the invoice they submit at the end of work.

I scheduled roto-rooter to come fix my faucet which was leaking. The work they did was great. Ray was very nice and professional and fast. My only complaint is that my window was 10-12 and he arrived at 2 but I understand that these things happen with traffic and a job may be different and more complicated and I rather the job be done thoroughly  which can make other appointments run late. Overall I am very happy with my new faucet & repair. I am in South Atlanta.

Called @ 2:30 on a Saturday due to clogged line backing up through toilets, sinks.
Told 2 hours. Got a call @ 5pm that we are still waiting on the technician and it should be soon. We called them back @ 8pm (took 3 tries), got disconnected, promised to have a call back from the dispatcher and left on hold. Meantime, got a call from the restoration dept to make an appointment to come out. Told him I needed the  plumber first! Finally, talked to a dispatcher who didn't return our call and no one would be available, as their technicians had all timed out and we would need a specialist (?) but he would have someone to the house @ 8 am Sunday. We cancelled our plans, no one showed. Called them @ almost 9am and said they meant it was an 8-10 window. Called them @ 10:45... the standard reply of waiting on a technician.   In the meantime we called GEORGIA ROOTER @ 11:00 a.m. and they had someone to the house in less than 1 hour.  When Roto Rooter called back to say they still were waiting on a technician.... we cancelled.  All the while, no toilet flushing, dishwashing, showering or laundering for the 20 hours we waited on the Roto Rooter technician.

BEYOND HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!  I called Roto-Rooter at 8am to clean out clogged underground drain pipes.  They said they would be at my home by 1:00pm.  When they didn't show, I called back and was told they would be there by 3:00.  When they didn't show I called back and was told they would be there within the hour.  They never showed and I got tired of calling.  Then, at 11:00pm, their technician woke us up to say he'd be at our house in 20 minutes to do the work.  I was flabbergasted that he would come at such an hour and he replied that they work 24 hours a day.  I told him we were asleep and didn't want someone at our home at midnight working in the dark.  This was beyond surreal.  I will never call this crazy company again.

We had a link under our sink,  the sink drain had come apart. I called several companies and Roto Rooter was the only one who said they could be out there that day.  I made the appointment and waited.  No one showed.  At 7:00 that evening, we called and they said they wouldn't be able to come out after all, but they'd be there the next day.

When the tech showed the next morning, he told my husband that there was a $400 minimum charge to do anything!!! At no time prior to the plumber showing up was this EVER mentioned- I most definitely would have found another company right then.

The plumber replaced the drain (not the pipes, just the strainer) and charged $400 for it. The work was done unprofessionally, with caulk oozing out all over my sink.  And, to top it off, it's still leaking.

I wouldn't trust these guys to tell me that the water was running out of my faucet.

Pat Swanson, Luis Crispin and Cheryl Moore did such a poor job handling a basic complaint, I have no choice but to believe they were trying to rip off my mother-in-law. I am writing this on her behalf as English is her second language, which I think Roto-Rooter may have tried to use to its advantage.

On Oct. 6, Roto-Rooter came out to check her water heater and said it was a pilot light. The tech re-lit it, kindly showed her how to relight it herself and charged her $100. Two days later, she still did not have hot water. She called back. The same gentleman returned and said she needed to have her thermo coupler replaced. He did the job and charged $576 but gave her a rebate of $100 for the fee charged a couple days before, so a total of $476.

Two days later, she remained without hot water. A new tech arrived and told her this is a common problem with the Rheem model she has. He explained the part is under warranty and she should call Rheem, which she does. Well, Rheem didn't honor its warranty, saying they had no techs available to do the work, so they mailed her the part. She called Roto-Rooter back and a tech came out and installed the part.

He charged $598, and he offered a discount from the bad diagnosis a couple days beforehand. But the discount was only $248 -- which is about half of what she paid for the bad diagnosis and the part she did not need.

I spoke to Cheryl Moore, who promised she would take care of it before ignoring my calls and emails for days. I then went to corporate where Pat Swanson, who said he was a liaison between the branch and customer, wrote on Nov. 17 that someone would reach out. Luis Crispin reached out to discuss the matter, but when I'd call back he was never in the office. I kindly left him a message explaining there was no need to discuss anything. Just send the refund. He kept playing phone tag. Finally, he left me a message saying the money had been refunded. It had not. I told him so. He left another message saying the refund had been processed, this time even sending a weird, unofficial-looking document showing a transfer back to my mother-in-law's card. It never showed up.

This went on for WEEKS until January 7 when I wrote Swanson again and threatened to contact state authorities, the Better Business Bureau, the PHCC, the state division of master plumbers, review sites and anyone else who can help get ... her money back. Only then did we get the refund. Months of wasted time and not so much as an apology. NEVER use this company.

If I could have chosen 0 stars I would have.

We called Roto-Rooter to come take a look at what we assumed to be a sewage leak in the line going from our house to the street.

The plumber came out to look and informed us he had never seen anything like it, and that the pipe was 6 inches under ground which is not to code. He checked with his supervisor and said that because it existed before the code, he could repair it and estimated about $2400-$3,000 to replace that piece of the pipe. He told us our termite people likely hit it and that we should pass the bill along to them or sue them for damages. This turned out to be completely false.

About a 45 minutes later he came back and said he could not find the pipe. I was confused as he told me it was 6 inches underground. He told me that wasn't the pipe, he just thought it was and it ended up being a crazy rock. I assumed he would know what a pipe looked like, but that apparently was my misconception. He said he was going to have to call a master plumber with a camera to see what was going on. We waited about another 2 hours for this.

After the master plumber came, they came into the house to use the camera through the master bedroom toilet. They took the toilet off the floor to do this. They came in and out the house repeatedly tracking literal crap in with them. There were footprints on the floors and mud/crap in the bathroom as well. We had our cleaning people at our house that day and they plumber made the joke that we were going to have to call them back. I guess this was true and it would be at our own expense. They also tracked this all over our front and back porches as well. So this ended up being additionally cleaning we had to spend remedying the issues they created.

They came with masks on and practiced social distancing at first, but then proceeded to take their masks off to smoke cigarettes and left them off the remainder of the time. From then social distancing was out the window and they began to explain that our pipe had collapsed in 2 places. They explained the damages and the cost estimates to repair it while smoking cigarettes as well.

When all was said and done they were estimating about over $14,215 for the total including the service they provided that day. When I told them we were going to look around at other estimates, they tried to convince us to use their financing options. We had to pay them just shy of $1,000 to get them to leave. Apparently this paid for them to come over and use a camera, dig a hole in our yard, drag crap all over our house, and leave.  We started with a sewage leak under ground and was left with a gaping whole they dug full of actual crap.

After getting 2 other quotes for around $4200, we obviously went with someone more cost effective and respectful. They replace the collapsed pipe in a day for essentially 1/3 of the cost. I would not refer Roto-Rooter to my worst enemy. Completely disappointed. It was a waste of our time and money.

Please do not call them. I called them for a toilet overflow, they did come within an hour butttttt....
the individual  suggested we ignore the leak but my instincts said otherwise. their guys came and opened the ceiling and so much water came down. they started the drying process and had one machine not work. the whole time they miscommunicated saying they will also have another contractor fix the ceiling back up. after more then a week of them drying out the ceiling and all I heard nothing back. called them, went back and forth and no communication. I finally had to call my insurance and get someone else to fix the ceiling. these folks are a nightmare. Oh but they did call my insurance a lot to get paid but just did not communicate with me when needed. With so many other good companies around, this type of service should not be accepted.

This technician was very shady and tried to charge 459.00 to remove and install a toilet, he tried to double the price, when I objected, he tried to charge 250.00, I sent him walking, Roto Rooter techs are not trustworthy and greedy.  I will never call them again, also had a VERY nonchalant attitude, not professional in my opinion.

We had a major plumbing emergency - sewage was backing up in our pipes and spilling into the downstairs bathroom. We called Roto-Rooter at 11pm, Chino showed up around midnight, unclogged our drain, and had us up and running by 2am. We had additional issues due to our home's old pipes, Chino came back out and diagnosed the issue for no extra charge. Roto-Rooter is not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for -- they are top notch plumbing professionals with great customer service. We highly recommend Chino (Technician #954) too, he's the man.

I am glad that our  problem was fixed so efficiently and quickly. Thanks John!!

Terrible experience. I accidentally tore the copper pipe when removing my bathroom faucet so I called in the pro from Roto-Rooter. The so-called plumber that showed up looked confused as to what to do about it. I asked if he can replace it and he said not unless he gets into the wall. Ok, fine, so I knock a hole in the wall. THEN he tells me he doesn't have (common) 1/2 copper pipe, so FINE, I go to Home Depot and get one. After I put all the work in, he cut the piece of broken pipe off and pinches on a bit of the new one I bought. It took less than 10 minutes AND HE CHARGED ME $270 TO DO IT. On top of that, when I go back to Home Depot I found out I need to replace that part anyway when replacing the faucet. I didn't know that, but I'm not a plumber. I paid him for $270 for 10 minutes of work that didn't even need to be done. I've been calling to complain about the bill and keep leaving messages. I'm not getting a call back. Beware of using this company. Chances are you know more about plumbing then the person they send. $270 for 10 minutes of work also means they will charge you $1,620/hr for the unskilled labor they send.

I scheduled an appointment and given 12pm - 4pm appointment window. I called 3 times the day of the appointment to verify when they would arrive. Each time was told I'd get a call 45 minutes before the arrival. At 4:06 PM my 4th call, they said the technicians are still busy with another repair that was approved (after mine was scheduled) & sorry she could re-schedule me for another day. They NEVER called me even when they knew the appointment would not show up at the times provided. Wasted 4 hours out of my work day waiting on them as promised. DO NOT EVER use Roto Rooter, not a reputable or reliable company. Run and look elsewhere.

Expensive and poor customer service!
I've relied on Alex when I had plumbing(toilet) issues, but little did I know how much they overcharged.  He replaced my water heater tank about 1-2 years ago.  So he's been to my home 3 times now.   Recently I called on Alex to fix my PRV.  Alex asked me where the water valve is located.  The whole time he talked about how he's experienced he is and that he's the  top man.  So how does an experienced plumber not know where the water valve is, especially when he's been to my home and turned it off before in the garage.  Well this time, he shut off my water using the outside valve.  After replacing the PRV he couldn't turn the water back on.  I said that he didn't complete the job since he didn't turn the water back on.  He said it wasn't his problem and that I had to pay for his services of replacing the PRV(which was almost double the cost as normally priced).  He left my garage a mess and was very rude when I was upset that I didn't have water!

Called for a slow draining sink. They were very friendly, but charged $548 to snake the bathroom sink (nothing came out, wasn't clogged which I told them before they started) and $80 for drain cleaning solution. Problem is neither fixed the issue. So over $600 and still need to find a plumber that can fix the slow drain.

Schedule service from Roto rooter in the Jonesboro Ga. area for Saturday September 22, between 8 am and 12:00pm, they did not show so reschedule the same service for September 30th. Again they did not show after I called twice that same day to inquire when I should expect the workers to arrive. Called then at around 12:15pm to complain about the poor customer service and the fact that I should have been the first service stop today since I was missed last week. Not only were they not even profession to even call me before my missed appointment to let me know that the were running late. Instead at 12:29pm after I had already called them they called to advise me on the status of my repair order. I was a repeat customer but if this the way they conduct business I will find someone else. I had three issues I needed addressed. Not only did the tech show not concern but the receptionist who addressed the phone did not show any concern or empathy. My repair order should have been annotated to show that I was a previous customer with a prior missed appointment. My time is valuable and I could have been doing something else besides waiting for repair people who did not show. PBass

Totally agree with all of the comments regarding price.  I was quoted $650 labor plus the cost of equipment to install a new disposal. Fortunately I looked up on the internet what is a reasonable price to install a disposal? and it was about half of that.  After some negotiating (he originally offered to give me $50 off) I was able to get it down, but I will NEVER call them again.

This is the worst company i had a displeasure of working with. Basement had a leak,my sump pump installation and cleanup work was waaay over charged and the insurance won't pick up the tab.  The cleanup costs for the basement was over charged for barely peeling off 3 feet of floor and draining the wastage. I was qouted 20k for costs but when my insurance won't pay more than 10k, they wanted to adjust the costs accordingly. WTF..i know.
I hired another company who was much better and way lower in costs and also professional.
Roto rooter sent me a hefty bill since i fired them and getting in contact with them i difficult. Save yourself headaches and money. Do your research before you sign anything with this fraud company.

John seriously came in and saved the day. My overall experience with Roto Rooter was awful. The nightmare began at 2pm Tuesday December 23rd and dragged through 2pm December 24th. The first tech was here 6 hours and finally said it was a city water issue. So called out the county water guy just for him to say the main lines were fine and it was in the line from house to street. Now it is 1130 at night, the second Roto rooter guy comes out. He too could not fix, but assured me the guy who can, will be out first thing in the morning. To try try to make an excruciating story shorter, after being told by the supposed guy who could fix it that he's off for the next 2 day, John rode in on his white horse to save the day.
The women who deal with the phone calls and appointments are rude, condescending and VERY unprofessional.
Unless you can be guaranteed your guy is going to be John, I completely advised NOT to call Roto rooter.

These guys were awesome, it's the second time I've had to use them on a house that I own. This time around they came within an hour of me calling, which was unbelievable, and addressed the issue and were completely honest with me over the span of two hours. I had some of the same experiences I've read of on this site, wish I looked earlier, but I was in a bind.  I had a clogged drain and I called Roto Rooter first thing in the morning.  They told me they would be able to come to the house that day.  I asked repeatedly and that's what they said.  I called three more times that day because nobody showed. Each time someone was supposed to call me back, but that didn't happen.  Finally late that night I get a call from Michael, and he showed up the next afternoon.  He worked for approximately 3 hours snaking the drain.
The labor charge was $1,140.00.  Less than 30 days later I had the same problem.  I called another plumber who found ROOTS in the sewer line between the house and the street.  They did not grow there in 30 days. So obviously the job was incomplete.  I lost a good bit of money because of Roto Rooter as I had to pay twice for the same service.

Extremely unprofessional!!! NO STARS!!! I called yesterday and was told someone would be out between 5-8:30 pm to unclog a toilet I'd been trying for an hour to unclog. I never received a text or a call that someone was on the way. They never showed up. Today I expected someone to call and say they were unable to come..... didn't happen. I ended up going to Home Depot and finally fixing it myself. Maybe it was meant to be cause I'm pretty sure I saved myself a lot of money. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for your plumbing needs.
