I always get a couple of opinions when there are major repairs to do. In this case it paid off. A Cummings technician checked my central ac/heating unit on the roof and declared that I needed a $700 furnace blower motor, but I should opt for a new $7.5k unit instead because of the age of my unit.
Well, I am not a technician and I have to rely on an honest evaluation, so I called Advantage Air Mechanical heating and cooling and their technician said my unit was in good condition and just needed a furnace blower motor, and that he could install it for $325 complete, parts and labor.
Sometimes I wonder if Companies like Cummings ever think that they will get caught for misrepresenting a repair or price gouging. Perhaps heavy local advertising pushes them to squeeze their customers for more dollars. That's why I make a habit to follow my rule which is, trust but verify.

Worst plumbing company in Tucson! We recently had them replace all the plumbing in our house. The estimate was the best of the three companies we called. So, we went with them. Their estimator assured us that they would take all precautions to not damage our stained concrete floors. He stated they would cover all necessary items to avoid damage and debris getting everywhere. He also told us that his crew would wear protective booties while in our home. None of this happened. Our floor was damaged, and personal property was broken. One of the owners came out with the estimator and proceeded to insult the current condition of my floors while standing in my kitchen! He stated that it was his opinion that his crew had nothing to do with the damage to my floor, and that my floor was basically worn out. He also told me that my floors were not stained, but just coated with color. Funny, but I watched my floors being stained through the entire process. He told me he was aware of our broken items, and offered a pittance for the items they broke. He left without resolving any issues that I made him aware of. Their work was poor and that is being generous! They left a mess and left my wife and I to spend the next week cleaning and repainting after their mess. We are still dealing with this mess after the 7 - 9 days it was supposed to take. We are now past 30 days. Extremely unprofessional, poor quality workmanship and absolutely no customer service! I wouldn't recommend them to change a sprinkler!

Late this afternoon we noticed water on our side yard. After some digging we found that it was coming from the main water line. We turned off the water to the house and started calling plumbers. Since it was after 5, we were told that tomorrow was the earliest we could get it fixed. We called Cummings and within 45 minutes, Junior was at our door to fix the problem. He was efficient and found the problem immediately. Thank you, Junior, for the awesome job. We will be referring Cummings to all our neighbors and friends and we will now be loyal customers to Cummings for all our plumbing needs.

I was truly pleased with the young man who came to service my house. He anweserd all my questions and while I watch him work, WOW this young man really did his best to resolve my plumbing issues.
I don't usually give 5 stars. However, after years of having problems with both are plumbing and air conditioning, my wife looks to me and says she has peace of mind. When I think about how I've wanted me and my family to be treated, I think of Cummings Plumbing. They came in and fixed Plumbing throughout the whole house and worked with my schedule . More importantly... They worked with my 12 year old disabled daughter schedule. Thank you to everyone in the office who has been very patient and kind and to all the folks who put hands on my house, I say thank you very much
Unfortunately I had a gas leak last weak, I looked up a few Plumbers just as my Home owners told me.. get a couple estimates so of course i went with the Company that has been around for awhile an have seen thier commercials so I was really confident that I wouldnt have any issues; BOY WAS I WRONG CUMMINGS PLUMBING HIRES THE BIGGEST IDIOTS. SERUOUSLY I HAD to remind the 1st guy why he was even there. He says ohhhhhh... long pause .. Kinda like I adked a trick question. Im waiting for a co-worker to bring me an aircompressor. The guy actually freaking told me that I needed to replace all my gas lines ITS GONNA BE ALOT OF MONEY MAM he says...You need new black iron pipes throughout your home.. Seriously I couldnt believe that this place (CUMMINGS) WOULD HIRE SUCH IDOIT. Till the 2nd day the next guy knocks on my door an has NO CLUE WHY HE is EVEN THERE , I tell him maybe to do a pressure test since the aircompressor NEVER showed up the day before well now he proceeds to enlighten me an tells me .. I cant do a pressure test I just drive a regular truck around an do estimates WTF!!!! I never did find out why he came out nor did they ever do A PRESSURE TEST he did NOTHING EXCEPT HAND ME A CARD which i threw away immediately..I regret that now for obvious reasons ... I never got a correct estimate I never got any follow up calls to see if I was able to get my problem handled or if I needed thier service. The scheduler was so concerned about her guys getting up in the attic well maybe she should worry more about training her employees..Motivate them at least the little boy that came to my house , was the most unmotivated, unknowledgable about his profession person id ever seen...Id think twice about calling these people employees say alot about your business practices ...
They told me my whole hose needed to be repiped due to a costly leak that couldn't be found their estimated cost $7k , we'll it was only a toilet leak and fixed it my self cost $25. Sorry I didn't help make your moth by ripping me off fellas

Dealing with Cummings Plumbing has been my worst nightmare.
A job that was supposed to take 3 days took 3 weeks. The Company did not take any responsibility for screwing up pipes that they had originally fixed, when I called to talk to a supervisor and let him know how dissatisfied I was with the service he hung up on me. They take no responsibility for their own mistakes and have zero customer service. To top it off, they didn't even send me an invoice, (I had originally paid half of the job) they send me a notice of lean on my house, trying to threaten me.
I would NEVER recommand this company to anyone. Save yourself time and money and go somewhere else.
Fortunately, our experience with Cummings ended with the bogus estimate. Technician comes in, looks at where we needed the work done, doesn't ask any questions, comes back in five minutes with a $588 estimate. How long will it take? [One hour.] Materials cost? [Don't know, depends on what type of piping we have.] Since you never asked, how can you do the estimate? [No answer.]
I point out that materials wouldn't be over $30, so they're charging $550/hour to do the work? Oops, the technician quickly responds, I made a mistake, it should be $488 (off exactly $100?). Sent him packing. This experience is consistent with the other complaints in every online forum. The ONLY good thing I can say about them is the estimate was free. I pity those who have been unknowingly taken advantage of by this company, especially the seniors they seem to target. Do your homework, there are reputable plumbers out there!

Avoid this company if at all possible. They do not honor their warrantees. In Sept of 2014 I hired them to replace the plumbing in my home and while they were at it install a water softener. I have been fighting with them ever since to try and get them to make the system work as promised. At this point they are not even giving me the common curtesy of returning my calls. I have now had to resort to having Visa and the Better Business Bureau help me get this resolved.
This was a difficult time for us as I am sure anyone would understand. We were told by a prior company that we had a sagging pipe and that the only way to repair it would be to have the floors torn up and replace the whole works; which the prior company did not do AND we were told it would be quite pricey. Then a friend told us that Cummings does a procedure where they place a sleeve (into or around) the pipe to re-straighten & Support the pipe. We looked on their web site and watched the whole procedure on video.
We called; a rep came and he offered us a much better solution at a much better price than we could have asked for. The rep said they would just cap the sagging pipe and reroute the plumbing out to the main from the side yard. He quoted a price in writing. I asked if there would be any other charges. He said there would not and they would stand behind it with a warranty (even for the landscaping.)
The guys came. The trench was neat. They were efficient and it took them the time we were told it would. Even the supervisor came by to take a look and sent his guys back to add some gravel around the front where the hole had absorbed some.
It's good to know that we have a few months to make sure we really have this fixed. I think this company definitely handled things in a professional manner. Thanks to all the staff who helped.
UPDATE: Cummings reached out to me by their management staff first by phone call on 6/15/17 and asked to come out to my home to ensure the job was performed to Cummings standards. Mr Johnson came out today, 6/16/17 and I was reassured it was done correctly. I am completely satisfied now with Cummings and they took a very proactive approach to rectify my initial complaint below. Thank you Mr. Johnson and Cummings Plumbing for coming out and turning this situation from not so good to a positive one. I am changing my rating based on this update.
Used you guys several times, and like others in this reviews, the technician that came out tried to upsell us on other things like getting someone out here to dry out the water leak from the water heater. I told him I was not interested and that I would contact my person to do so. But this technician kept going on an on about how he can get somebody over here right now and give us a free estimate etc. etc. and again I told him I wasn't interested. It appeared to me that this technician was in cahoots with someone on the outside trying to make a little side money. Then the same technician told me that he was going to have to do this and that to this water heater and that it was gonna cost me more for the parts and when I told him that's not what I was told, then he got pissed off and told me I could call the office. After he left and the water heater warmed the water, when we turned the faucet on, the water was scalding hot. I went out to the water heater and the technician had it set way up.
While we were watching the installation, the technician asked if we had any questions and I said no. Then he said well you guys are creeping me out by watching me and to watch I replied I don't care if I'm keeping you up am going to continue to watch you install this water heater. Why would the technician get creeped out with me watching him? What was he hiding?
The technician ultimately didn't charge me for any parts which makes me even more suspicious that he was trying to make some side money the Company wouldn't know about. Had I not confronted him, and made him where he of me calling office, I think you would have charged me.
Originally quoted me $180 to replace a check valve. Tried to bill me before work was completed several times. One week later, plumber shows up to finish job and doubles the total billed to almost $400. PVC parts were billed at 200 dollars when I can buy the parts at Home Depot for 40 dollars.
Additionally, I told the plumber to authorize any work or charges over $200 with me. He called to tell me the total would be $180.
I highly recommend to check out another company for your plumbing needs.
Ripped off and overcharged. They were hired by a contractor who gave them specific info about the parts they would need for the job. When they showed up three people (this was clearly a one man job), they looked at the work, and said they had to go back to the office to get the parts. That resulted in an extra $150 charge. Very dishonest people.
I would not call these guys to replace a faucet washer. I had two of their technicians(?) try to fix my furnace. First one said he didn't know what caused the problem. Bill was $65.00. & he wrote that he wouldn't warranty his work. The next guy couldn't fix it and tried to charge me $140.00! One of them told me hat the system may fix itself after it ran a while.
I will call somebody else before winter to fix my furnace.
And, I don't want to start telling about my new A/C system. There is not enough room on this site to discuss that.
First of all let me say, this story is 100% true as you couldn't even make this up if you wanted to. I'm away in Phoenix on Friday and My wife calls me screaming Friday morning how do I shut the water off? We are having our daughters wedding in our home the next day and a faucet literally exploded and created a geyser in our bathroom. Not as easy as it may seem either because it was part of a built in jetted tub with no access point. My wife in a panic called another company who took all day and part of the next day to do absolutely nothing. I called Cummings at 10:30 Saturday morning, I'm having a wedding in 3 hours and I have no water! Cummings had their tech there within an hour and water and toilets working before the majority of the guests arrived! They were quick honest and professional. My wife is a Realtor and has deleted the other co's phone # and will be sending Cummings all her referrals.
Thank You Cummings!

Had to have a hot water replaced after business hours. Called Cummings as we had used them several years ago. The customer service rep was great, said someone would call us back. She followed up 20 minutes later to ensure they had. The tech (Jeremy) arrived in less than an hour, replaced the hot water heater, cleaned up his mess, was courteous and helpful. While I was shocked at the price of a new hot water heater, the after hours service call was reasonable. Definitely recommend.

Tucson plumbing company owner sentenced to 6 months for giving false statements to Social Security. 51-year-old Kevin Cummings was sentenced to six months in prison. The court has also ordered Cummings to pay $305,371.20 in restitution to the Social Security Administration and a $200,000 fine. He must surrender to serve his prison sentence on January 7, 2021.
This guy gave our HOA an exorbitant bid for a main replacement. Thank God we said No thanks.

Cummings Plumbing is a corrupt operation that took our money without performing any services or doing any work. They are refusing to refund over $4,000.00 for work they haven't performed and for products they didn't purchase. We have had to get our bank involved and will be pursuing legal action. I would venture to guess you would be better off using ANYONE else.
After dealing with Cummings Plumbing for several years, I had nothing bad to say but after waiting almost 2 1/2 weeks for parts for my mini splits, I was told by Zach the parts were in, had an appt set in all, turns out from their manager the parts are now not in, this has been very frustrating. My son has been without his cooler for almost 3 weeks now. I'm suppose to be getting a call from a manager which I have yet received, this is very saddening. I still have coverage for the parts but seems like they probably won't get the parts until the warranty expires. The labor is $900 however at this point I may just have to go buy a portable cooler with that $900.

I called them because my AC drain pan was leaking... The tech came and opened the cabinet and used my shop vac to vacuum it out and then proceeded to lose the closure plug. He then taped over the hole and said that if it leaked any more to call and he'd come back. He charged me $150... Something didn't seem right so I used a credit card to pay, which I normally don't do. It began leaking within an hour. I called back and immediately got the run around. They couldn't decide if the office manager was there or not but then settled on that she's scheduled from 3pm and that they couldn't understand why the tech wasn't responding by radio. Long story short... Exactly 12 calls... Always that someone would call back... But no calls. Then they said another tech would come... Its now three days later and no one has called or come. I've already disputed the charge with my credit card company.
Absolutely the worst service I've seen in years.
Please shop around! Mom called Cummings Plumbing out to the house today to replace bathroom sink and faucet with new supply lines. Total cost $867. A job like that should have cost less than half. I should know. Had the same work done at our condo using another company. This appears to be a classic case of taking full advantage of an elderly customer. Their invoice did not even include the make/model # of parts used for the job. Basic sink/faucet at Home Depot cost around $100. They charged over $400 for that portion of the work. Supply lines an extra $400+ I'm still in shock.
Just now writing a review from work done late last year. Selling my place. An honest plumber just reviewed work done by Cummings. He grimaced and asked what I paid......more than double a fair rate. They caught me out of town when a guest had a backup and ripped me off. Do yourself a favor, pre-select a local plumber that doesn't spend major bucks on big media ads and commissions their people to charge exorbitant rates. I heard Cummings was once a reputable firm, but sold and now exists to overcharge. Avoid!

For 10 minutes work I was charged $318, which works out to $1,300 per hour. I will use Al Coronado Plumbing if I need to in the future. The tech offer the following encouraging words: I don't set the rates.

Called to have my water heater replaced. The technician have us a free estimate which was a little on the high side but did a great job installing and was completed the same day. Good quality work.
We have used them a total of 3 times. The first time we used a couple years ago to fix a leak under the sink. They came during the time window and fixed the leak. We had no issues after. The service charge was $80. We had them come out about a year ago to install a sink. They installed the sink and were very nice. They arrived during the time window. The service charge was $90. We recently had an issue with our gas water heater. They came out during the time window and fixed it. We have not had any issues since. The service charge was $165. Overall they have fixed everything and made every appointment. The issue is the steep price is now $165. It was $80 just a couple years ago. That's a little too steep for us. We are looking at other plumbing companies in the future as a result.
I had a leak somewhere, unusually high water bill. Cummings came almost immediately. Had me turn on the water, looked at the water meter spinning. Next he told me my entire house would need to be replumbed and gave me an estimate for $11,600. I am a single older woman who lives in the foothills. I got a 2nd opinion and was told to have a leak detection service come out. I did this. It turned out my swamp cooler float was broken. My son fixed it for $21. The card from Cummings Plumbing said he was one of the owners. BEWARE: apparently this man likes to prey on older women trying to do services that are not needed.

Raul and Antonio did a great job on my bathroom remodel. New shower, tub, toilet and vanity upgrade. Super pleasant to work with helped me make choices about what would and wouldn't work in the bath. These two come on time and always let me know what was completed and what was let to do and when they would return. These two work hard to get as much done in the time they have with quality and good manners. Thanks for choosing some great plumbers Cummings.
Mr. Cummings should change the name to rip off plumbing and cooling.Tucson, please skip this operation.
They are the most dishonest shysters who take advantage of seniors. Very sketchy and demand money before they ever even start to look at a problem. They change their prices multiple times, they started in the $15,000 range seeing if they could take advantage. I found another company that did it for less than $1000. Very very bad company.
What a great company. Very accommodating for emergency situations. We had a blocked drain in the kitchen due to a poorly functioning disposal. Called at 8am, plumber here at 9:30. Kenneth diagnosed the problem quickly and even had a replacement disposal on his truck! Very fair pricing and great, friendly service. Make Cummings your first call.
The receptionist told us that the service reps would arrive at my home between 8:00 and 8:30am. They knocked on my door at 8:02! That was a wonderful change from the usual between 9 and 3 that you get from most places. The work was done in an efficient manner with no mess to my home. The details of the work were explained to me effectively. The receptionists at the office didn't seem to know a lot of the information that they should know, but that's my only quibble. I was very happy with the service and will definitely use them again.
Well, I hate to have to do this because I'm not a Negative Nelly, but I've just had the worst experience since the Cox cable guy spent 8 hours in my house, didn't fix the cable and broke my Tivo box. So, our kitchen sink backed up, I call Cummings because we've been dealing with them for years and always had great service. They actually replaced our old swamp cooler with brand new central AC & heating and did an amazing job. I put the call in and was told someone would be here between noon and 4 pm. I received a call from them about 12:30pm to say the plumber is on his way. An hour and a half later, he still is not here. I call them to inquire and they say he'll be there shortly. He got here a little after 2 pm. He was here until 3:30 and said he needed to get on the roof, but since it was raining it was too dangerous to be up there and will come back tomorrow between 10am-2pm. The next day, I received a call about 1:30 pm that he was running late. Then I received a call at 3 pm saying he'll be there shortly. He arrived at 4:30 pm. An hour and a half later (6 pm) he informs me he'll have to come back tomorrow because another guy has a piece of equipment that he does not have. Two entire work days wasted and my sink is still backed up.
If I could leave a no-star review, I would. We called this company in April to replace the cartridge in a shower that was leaking. The plumber was here less than half an hour and did not do a good job. Six months later, we called Cummings again to explain that the shower was once again leaking. Their response to us was, Oh well. You only have a 30-day guarantee on the work. Thirty days. We gave them the opportunity to make things right but they ignored it and we were going to have to pay them--again--to redo their faulty repair. We called another plumber because that company will never get another dime from us. I cannot stress enough that you should go with ANY OTHER plumbing company but this one. They do a terrible job, take no pride in their work, have ridiculous warranty periods, and clearly don't give a flying fig about their customers once they've got the money in their pockets. DO NOT USE CUMMINGS PLUMBING!! You will end up regretting it, just like we did.
Beware of this place. They overcharge for parts and tell you to fix something when you don't have to. I can understand 100-200% markup for parts from retail price. But with over 300% markup, they are raping you. See the invoice picture I attached and you can research the price for yourself.
The A/C at my rental home stopped working. The fan stopped spinning. I called Cummings Plumbing since they have good reviews from google. The tech came out and said that the bearing on the condenser motor is shot and needs to be replaced. He also suggested replacing the capacitor. The estimate from my invoice:
Service call $99
Condenser Motor $329.62 (retail is only around $100)
Capacitor $132.64 ($20-30 part, unless their capacitor are made of gold!)
Labor for 1.5hrs at $99/hr $148.5
Total with tax $751!!!
I decided to have somebody else come out to fix. The guy said the only thing bad that he could find was the capacitor. He bought a new one for about $25 and
replaced it within 30 mins. My A/C is running fine now with a total cost of $125 vs $751 from Cummings. Either their technician is dishonest and wanted me to
replace parts that is unnecessary or they have in-competent technician who thinks the part is bad when it's good. Either way, I'm not sure which is worst. Buyer beware!!!
I called Cummings, explained what happened, and gave them a chance to make things right. They basically didn't believe me and thought I was lying. I don't need to be making stuff up when the capacitor actually cost $25. They knew full well that they are overcharging for parts but still decided to ignore it. They said they
would investigate and call me back but I never called me back. I call back to see if they have done anything and they said the AC repair lead will investigate and
would call me back. It's been two weeks and I have not heard anything. So, apparently they also have bad customer service and won't do anything about it after they have taken your money.
Also, don't believe all the good reviews from google, like me. If you look closely you can see that someone from the shop probably wrote the good comments.
Somehow all the good reviews have 3-5 rated by user that it's useful (even when the comment is only one sentence! how could that be useful). All the bad reviews
have no comments (because no one usually rate any comments/reviews). You can read all the reviews yourself and made an inform decision.
You have been warned. Stay away from this dishonest place!!!
I really appreciate them coming to help fix my faucet. They did a great job, came on the weekends to help me and the estimate was free. They were super friendly and nice. Would definitely recommend them for all my plumbing needs. My dad doesn't have yelp but he was the one who found them and had them come out to install my kitchen faucet and shower faucet. Reasonably priced.

After encountering potentially serious plumbing issue at one of our rentals we decided to give Cummings a call based on some of the good reviews - Friday morning we called, were given a 2 hour window in the afternoon which had to get pushed back because they had a truck breakdown. This happens, but when he finally showed up he didn't do any diagnostic and simply told us he didn't have a camera on the truck because it wasn't his. Well, dandy. He could have gone into the unit and tested some things out but he didn't - just opened the cleanout and had me flush the toilet and that was it - he wanted to scope the sewer and didn't have his camera so no-go. Spoiler alert: the problem ended up having nothing at all to do with the sewer line itself. So he schedules something for Monday morning first thing at 10am since he has management duties in the morning. Not ideal given the issues we were having but it's now the weekend and you'll be paying emergency after hours rates so we stuck it out. About 11am on Monday I call the office and ask for an estimated arrival time. I'm told he's stuck in traffic in Phoenix and won't be able to make it till maybe this afternoon. No kidding... 90 minutes away and you can't give me a heads up you're blowing another scheduled meeting off? And what happened to those important management duties? Really not impressed with their attitude or their scheduling abilities - I suggest they spend less money on their constant TV and radio ads and hire some better, more reliable staff. Short version we called another plumber who came out that day and fixed the problem in a couple hours - there are much better, more responsive and less expensive plumbers out there in the Tucson area to choose from - I suggest you shop around.
Our house was built in the early 1970's where cast iron sewer pipe was used. In our neighborhood, most of the houses were starting to experience various stages of pipe corrosion with some requiring slab demo and new pipe. We decided it was just a matter of time for us to have trouble. JT from Cummings scoped our line, expertly evaluated our situation, estimated our costs and job time required for Perma-Liner. Jaime and Esteban were the best service crew we've ever experienced. They were professional, extremely clean, house protective, courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. Jaime gently cleaned our fragile pipe and showed us several holes and cracks. He skillfully filled the holes without having to replace pipe. He then placed three epoxy coats on the main line and all the trunk lines to sinks, showers and toilets. The complete line is now sealed, smooth and strong with a thirty year warranty. We highly recommend them.
We had Cummings Plumbing install an Enviro water conditioner system at our home. I was very skeptical that it wouldn't reduce the water pressure, and the techician assured me it wouldn't and it didn't, one bit. We had a salt system before which was a pain in the neck to fill when it needed salt, and we didn't want to go that route again. So, the Enviro seemed to be the answer. I've waited to write this review for several months because I wanted to make sure we liked it and it did what they said it would do. So, I'm writing to say that WE LOVE IT! It doesn't leave the skin feeling slick like a salt system does. It filters out all the gunk that's in Tucson's water. Our Kohler faucets no longer have any calcium deposits. The dishwasher runs much better than it ever has. The system was expensive, but in looking back, it was worth the money because of the happiness we got from having a top-of-the-line water conditioning system installed. Yes, Cummings might be a tad expensive, but just like the other review, you get what you pay for. I don't mind paying for good service even if it costs more as long as the technician is experienced and does a good job and cleans up afterwards. I have also used Cummings Plumbing for other plumbing repairs. They are top notch.

If I could give the owner, Jake, and his team 10 stars, I would! We bought a house in March that had Polybutylene plumbing. A month after our tenants moved in, the water heater pipes started leaking. A few months later the shower. We finally decided we needed a full house re-pipe. We called 3 places: Rite Way (I used them to repair leaks), Pioneer (didn't show up for the estimate) and Cummings. By far, Cummings earned my business! Everything from the first phone call, to the estimate, to the re-pipe and the drywalling has been seamless and effortless. Such great staff! Jimmy Pitts, John and his crew operated in stealth mode. They kept everything so clean and tidy each day. Very polite and great at communication. I'll never use another plumbing company. Cummings has made a repeat customer out of me!
Two days after we moved into our house it started raining in our family room. We knew Cummings had replaced all the pipes before we bought the place so we called and the owner was contacted and he came right away. Turns out the leak was not due to the new pipe installation but Jesse said he was happy to fix it for us anyway and it was handled within 24 hours. All of the employees that came to do different parts of the job were friendly and considerate of our home. We will always use Cummings for plumbing in the future.
Bought a brand new unit in 2011 for $3600. After just 2yrs we started having problems. Even with a 10yr warranty we have had 3 visits, paid over $500 for patch jobs and the run around about warranty procedures. When finally honoring the warranty in 2017 they wanted $700 midway during installation for labor fees? We refused and offered $200 since this problem was found the first time and never addressed equaling their $700. They agreed but only to say we will never come out again. Supervisor Jason was soon in our home offering a new 5yr warranty that we can split 50/50. He was quickly shut down because they were incapable of honoring the original one. Once finished the technician told us to keep our money and left us with a broken system. 96 degrees later we are still extremely happy to have parted ways with these crooks. Please be warned!!

Our kitchen sink was draining super slowly. Obviously a problem. We have a long snake and tried to snake it but whatever we did make the water completely stop draining. Time to call a plumber. We called Cummings Plumbing and a guy arrived and touched nothing, turned on nothing, opened 2 cabinets and seemed to not want to simply just snake the sink like I suggested. He quoted me $322 for a snake, $6500 for a permaliner and $18,500 for a whole house permaliner!!! WHAT!?!?. My sink is just stopped and everything else in our home works! I called another business for the first time and were super impressed with Shawn. He called back within 5 min of our request to the business. We made an appointment for the next day and he arrived on time, was very professional and started with a simple solution. He snaked our kitchen sink for $47 and it was fixed! Imagine that! Thank you Shawn. We will call you again.
I emailed them and sent in a request through website. Received emails back saying they'd get to me right away. More than a week later, nothing. Customer service is dead.

Jay Sandoval did an AMAZING job installing my water heater and changing the ventilation on my historic home. My old unit was 17+years and my new one is just great. He was neat, professional and the job required no cleanup after. We were a little puzzled as to why we are unable to get an itemized price quote from Cummings BUT I would still use them again. They had replumbed my house completely 20 years ago which is why I went back. Also the office staff could not have been nicer with my many questions!

This company is full of incompetent and deceitful staff members, both in the office and in the field. After waiting for 6 hours for a plumber, I was still not satisfied with the work completed. The office has no accountability and there is no leadership available to speak with and it shows. I've never had such poor service from any service company in Tucson.
If I could leave zero stars I would. Customer service is so unprofessional and the work is mediocre. This family business won't last long, there are plenty of other plumbing companies that charge less and get the work done without having to be treated like an unworthy customer.
Just had the crew clean the air ducts and they did a great job. Professional, clean, job well done!

They gave me a time frame of four hours, after five and half hours of waiting I call them to see where they are at and they lie to me about showing up and knocking and leaving already and when I call them on it, the supervisor calls me back and says that since i'm not paying them for the estimate they advertised as free that he doesn't have to treat me like a customer and when I explained to him that I had two elderly people in a house with no a/c and he told me it wasn't his problem and to go some where else.
My air conditioning unit went out in my house. It quit blowing cool air. I called Cummings Plumbing and they said they'd be over in 4 days which for 104 plus degrees in Tucson in the summer is probably reasonable. They actually came in 3 days. Over the phone I was told that there would be a $99 check up charge. When the service man came he's very professional and courteous. He checked out the AC unit and fixed it within 30 minutes or less. I was told the capacitor was bad and that the freon was fine. My total bill was $248 which I think is a little high but it was fixed and works fine now. I believe they are a reliable company and do good quality work but are on the high side cost-wise.
They came to house walked in spent 5 minutes said the tile had to be cut(duh?) then charged us $100 for a trip fee and left. Would rate 0 star if I could.
When calling another plumbing company they also thought it was insane that they charged us and would have cut the tile to do the the job needed.
I will update if I get the trip fee back, but so far I feel extremely taken advantage of. We will see if their internal business workings is also just as against the consumer or not.

Called for a plumber from Cummings. I have used them for over 10 years. Always satisfied. Given arrival time window of two hours. Finally showed up about 1 hour after . I had three toilets that needed new flush valves and flappers. Man was here 2 and half hours. Cost of repair $1291.15. About 60 dollars for parts and 1230 dollars for labor. That comes to $492.00 per hour for labor. I have medical doctors who don't charge that much! Be careful with these guys!!!

I had Cummings come to my house and look at my AC Unit that wasn't cooling. They said I had to replace the unit and sent me a bill for $15,000. I had a different company come to look at the unit and they found that a blown fuse was the problem and charged me $238 to fix it. This is an unscrupulous company and would suggest that others should run away and not use this company. So sad that people have to be this way.
Add an appointment to get an estimate on having a hot water heater replaced. They kept moving the appointment back three hours after my scheduled appointment nice young gentleman came out and gave me an estimate. This estimate was supposed to be emailed to me never received it emailed back requesting the quotation nobody ever got back to me. Verbal quotation for 50 gallon electric hot water heater installed for $2000-$2500. Shopping around for cheaper price and found prices half of what was verbally quoted.

Cummings Plumbing was working at the Sam Levitz doing some drain clearing issue. We were trying to leave Sam Levitz with our new bed in a trailer. They were in truck #6. They opened the manhole cover at the end of the side driveway. It was dark and one of the plumbers was waving a flashlight. As we drove up to the corner of the building, he yelled at us, why were we coming this way ( because it was the exit). He insisted we back up with our trailer over 300 yards.
His other truck was behind us. After negotiating the backup and avoided the truck behind us. We went to the front to ask why he was yelling at us. He told us we should have no issues backing up and we were stupid for not knowing how to backup better. He also said we were stupid for not yielding to his flashlight. How are we supposed to know what a waving flashlight means.
He should have had his 2nd truck and cones in place before opening the manhole and blocking the exit!
He should also learn not to yell at his customer's customer!
Perhaps some training is in order?
I called Cummings Plumbing to come check out a leaky pipe I have. They sent out Kevin Cumming who showed up reaking of smoke, so much I had to change after he left, and wore his dirty boots all throughout my house. The pipe was behind some drywall and told me he would suggest Steamy Concepts to come out for the walls. He wouldn't even begin to work on it or even tell me what the problem area is. Waste of my time.
I bailed my neighbor out after Cummings showed up this morning and quoted $3000-$4000 to fix a leak near the main valve.
Not even if the entire pipe from the meter to the house had to be replaced should this repair cost $3000-$4000.
I had already heard that Cummings has shady business practices (i.e. quote high...REALLY high, get the customer to sign a contract, then discover that the repair was much smaller than originally thought. )
But you signed a contract, so that's what it costs. And good luck fighting that in court.
It's becoming well known that Cummings' plumbers work on commission, and it's also becoming well known that ethics is a very small part of their business.
This repair: $10 in parts and maybe 2 hours labor...including the parts run.
I dunno. In somebody's fantasy world, maybe that's worth $3000.
Not anyone I know, though.
You've been warned....by a lot of people, it seems, if you read their reviews.
JUST. DON'T.
CONSUMERS BEWARE! My wife and I needed a complete re-pipe in our home and hired Cummings. They had replaced our kitchen sink about 18 months prior and we were pleased. We decided to hire Cummings again to complete this project and we are extremely disappointed. Jake Cummings himself came to our home and provided a quote and a time frame of 8 days to complete the project. This turned into a 5-week ordeal in which we were very disappointed in their lack of professionalism and workmanship. We had to get the Registrar of Contractors involved and although there were no citations issued, we had to deal with numerous return trips from Cummings to correct and repair mistakes they have made from stepping through our ceiling to correcting hot and cold-water connections installed incorrect. Since they have completed the project, our cold water comes out of the faucet at over 110 degrees, Mike Determan who advised us he has over 30 years in the business and has completed thousands of re-pipes, simply responds with I am stumped & I don't know and has yet to offer an explanation of the situation. If you do have these folks' re-pipe your home, please inquire on the possibility of experiencing a similar issue. Henry C.
Fortunately, I had never had the need for a plumber so when my kitchen sink was totally clogged, I decided to go with a name I knew and I am very glad I did!!
Vincent and his assistant were incredibly courteous, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They fixed my sink in no time, ran the disposal and water to check for leaks etc.
I will for sure be calling them again if I ever need a plumber.

Fabulous Service - Prompt and Courteous
Called them in the morning and they had technicians over to my house before the end of the day! They were on time and knowledgeable. They provided instant quotes for the work that we need done. The technician Jeremy and his apprentice didn't pressured us to make a decision and were very professional.
I read the negative review posted 1/2/19 (which was the same day I called them) and felt that I had to write about our experience.
After getting reviews on Cummings and being a long-time company in Tucson, we called them out to check out where a leak was that was causing high water bill (first one was $885). Jake Cummings responded and immediately told my husband it was the poly-butlyene pipes. At the tune of $11,000 later... we still had high water bills/leaks. Finally my daughter discovered a leak in the irrigation. Not only did this cost $11K for new pipes, plus the cost to fix irrigation. These guys overcharged, they were never on-time. Took many many calls to get them out to replace a drawer and to get the painter (Mark) out to paint. We have faux painting, and was promised by Jake, it would all be redone just like it is. WRONG...we had him out twice...and was told this is the best I can do. My 10 year old granddaughter would have done a much better job! Finally, got Mark out to finish the couple areas he missed and we are done with Cummings...in more way than one. I would never, ever recommend this company (and we know a lot of people in town) the word will spread! Jake promised things would be covered, so they wouldn't get dirty and guys would wear foot coverings...this NEVER happened! I gave Jake the opportunity to make this right, but he didn't. Oh, I was just reminded by a post from Don L. about the ScaleBlaster SB-175. We have one from Cummings...which replaced our old watersoftner...and was told by Cummings that it would be way better. This was done by Mike, as a we are sorry for being so late to get started on your project and was told it's an $1800 unit. Stay away from Cummings...find a company that is HONEST and will do what they say and NOT overcharge.

Terrible experience. I had a water leak at one of my rental properties. Was quoted somewhere around $125/hr. They were honest about the hrs worked. However, their markup of parts is ridiculous (5x higher than retail prices in some cases). I was charged $155 in parts that I can get at a retail store for around $50 total. I received an invoice and called to get clarification about the markup of parts. I have contacted them 5 times and have not received 1 response. Guess they don't want any payment. I also have a $10 misc fee with no explanation on the invoice. So I get billed for nothing? SEE IMAGE BELOW. Is that supposed to help cover the plumbers time since he got a flat tire on the way to my house and was 2hrs later than they initially told me it would be.
Al Coronado quoted me for $276 labor and parts for the same job. I went with Cummings because I knew it was a quick fix but I did not expect such a high markup.
Read other reviews and saw similar reviews from those with bad experiences. DO NOT TRUST THESE GUY. THEY ARE NOT UP FRONT ABOUT COSTS EXCEPT FOR THE HOURLY RATE. THEY REEL YOU IN WITH THE HR RATE AND THEN RAPE YOU ON MARKUP OF PARTS AND OTHER HIDDEN FEES.
Came saying free estimate that ending up costing $300. Want $22,000 to fix drain pipe.
We have used Cummings Plumbing several times. Each person that has come out has been very helpful, even for an emergency Saturday afternoon call. My only complaint is that I have had to wait until the end of my 4 hour window and then the plumber came without the part that was needed knowing the problem we had called for , so I had to wait again until the following morning. They did make sure I was the first appointment the next day.

Upon calling different plumbing agencies for price quotes, Cummings Plumbing had the best deal. When calling for their service the customer service representative was very helpful and friendly. The female said they would call to let you know the plumber was en route to your home after getting off the phone with her 5 minutes later the plumber was at the door ready to work.
After telling him the drain back up problem he went straight to the source. Apparently you shouldn't grind up lettuce because it slowly starts to clog your drains in time. Well long story short I also found out the pipes I have draino will eat the pipes because of how powerful the active ingredient is. After he had finished he gave me another coupon and left within 30 minutes. Speedy reliable service! It's been a 4 days now and my pipes are still flowin' free!
They do give senior discounts!
Checks are accepted as well :)
BEWARE - CUSTOMER SERVICE NIGHTMARE. I can't rate the work that these folks do since they did not show up for my scheduled morning appointment. They did call (10am) and say that there was a plumbing emergency elsewhere. I asked that they reschedule for later the same day since I had taken the day off work to have my septic tank pumped. I was told that they would check with their plumbers for availability and would get back with me within a few hours. I called them about 1pm and was told that they were still awaiting response from their plumbers and would call me within the next 2 hours. Still no reschedule call at NOON THE NEXT DAY. I called them again to vent at the Customer Service Manager (Terri) and was told that she was on the phone and that she would call me when she was available. She never called. I will take my business elsewhere and do business with a company that has an inkling of an idea of how to take care of a customer. I have no idea how a company with such poor customer service stays in business. I'll never consider doing business with them again.
Update: Terri called me shortly after I posted this review (coincidence?) and was very apologetic and acknowledged that I was give very poor service. She could not commit to a reschedule time due to the still ongoing plumbing emergency (school plumbing issue) and my busy work schedule. She did suggest that they might offer me some sort of discount if I opted to use them but I will still probably look elsewhere.
I had a leak in the kitchen and they came out to look at it and said it was my sewer line without really examining anything. I was told they'd show up between 8 and 10 on a Tuesday and they'd run a camera down the line for $365. The didn't show up and I never heard from them again. They also tried to sell me expensive permaliner without even looking at my pipes. Maybe they're good but I don't give a second chance to no-call no-show companies.
Instead of taking their hill billy last name, they should've gone with Dishonest ex felons Plumbing. If you are considering to use this company's services start by looking up all the active court cases of fraudulent claims they have from former customers, 64 cases to this day. They are not a plumbing company they are a scam artists In a plumbing uniform. I know Jake & Kevin Cummings personally & they are both criminals! You have the dad (Kevin) who is a convict for felony charges of fraudulent claiming his social security & his son Jake who is child pedophile, bragging to his workers a story well known by the company of how he took advantage of a 17 year old on his dads boat party. Considering all these things before letting a nasty minded family into ur home trying to persuade you something that isn't true & make sure u keep eyes on these uniforms. They are full of crime in disguise. My neighbor had his house repiped in oro valley from these guys three months ago & the workers in his home stole his glock 19 (gun) & the company tried blaming his military son took it??? THIS IS A NASTY MINDED COMPANY STAY AWAY!
Over the years Cummings has replaced gas lines at my home and a rental, Water lines at my home and another rental, an HVAC unit at a rental and numerous calls for sewer back ups. They have always been on time and done a great job. So far in the last 20 years I have had nothing but good service.
One star because zero isn't an option. We lost faith in this company a few years back when we had a bathroom leak in our home and they tried to up charge everything. However, the incident that happened today is the final straw and the public needs to know the truth about this company. Today I was dropping off some items at the UPS store on Silverbell and Cortaro. As I was waiting for my receipt I heard some guy yelling about someone cutting him in line. He was yelling at a very elderly lady - literally screaming false accusations about how she had cut him in line. The employee behind the counter told him that the lady had been waiting and hadn't cut in line. However, he kept mumbling inappropriate comments. The elderly lady requested a chair and I helped her be seated before I left. On my way out I calmly reminded the rude man that our elderly deserve to be treated with respect. He screamed at me to shut up and leave. This turned into him calling me a b****. He proceeded to get into a Cummings Plumbing Truck that was waiting outside in the parking lot - after telling the driver who was waiting in the vehicle for him, to move it because we have to go and yelling a few more profanities at me as they sped away. I checked on the elderly woman by making sure she was safely in her car before calling Cummings to report their rude, unprofessional and outright disrespectful employees. I spoke with Crystal and Elaine who both promised to look into it and requested I give them a full description of the men. Later that afternoon, my daughter called Elaine to get an update only to discover another witness had called their company to complain about the incident. Here's the punchline. My daughter demanded to speak to the owner. Guess what? Mike called her. Mike - it turns out - is ONE OF THE OWNERS. The abusive man inside the UPS was his brother and Mike was apparently, the getaway driver. Mike actually asked my daughter what this incident has to do with him driving a Cummings Truck? WHAT? She told him it is pretty self explanatory in that their behavior is a reflection and representation of his business. Simply shameful. He took no responsibility at all. I demand he issues this elderly lady an apology. Saying - I apologized b***h doesn't count as a real apology in my opinion. If they were real men they would have offered for the elderly lady to be helped first regardless - not scream at her and intimidate her in front of everyone. I was pretty disgusted that UPS continued to serve this man who should have been asked to leave. Mike told my daughter that his brother had been emotional etc etc. No excuse. Shameful. I ask you this - if these men act like this towards women in public would you want them in your home? I think NOT. STAY AWAY.
Came out in a few hours during a heat wave. Got my unit running when another company told me it was 100 percent irreparable. Fast and fair.

These monsters are scamming my friend's elderly nana and forcing her to pay almost $100,000 for a home repiping that shouldn't cost more than 20,000. They lied and told her they're the only company that can work on her pipes and not to call anyone else, so now my friend cannot convince her she's being scammed because she only listens to the person who sounds more professional, and my friend can't talk like the professional scammers to reverse-convince her of the truth. So she's going to pay all this money because she thinks she has to listen to someone who owns a well-known company even when they're clearly scamming her. When the people running this company die, the world will be a better place for it, because they are the ultimate scum bags and don't even deserve to share the air we breathe. You make SO MUCH money on our community and still insist on lying and cheating old ladies out of their money!
I called Cummings due to a leak in my main water line. I spoke with Vicky on the phone, and Jason was dispatched to my house within the hour. He let me know that in order to fix the leak, the main water line would have to be replaced, as it was polybutylene and has since been recalled. We scheduled the service and Jason and his team arrived early the following morning. My water line is replaced, Jason and team were friendly and efficient and knowledgeable.
Nice guys but they really screwed up my hot water install. 4 months after install the inlet and outlet lines started leaking, ruined the drywall in my master closet. They came out, fixed it, repaired the damage, 2 months later it started leaking again. They fixed what I demanded but I had to keep calling to get them to do it. I actually did the paint myself - tired of waiting for them. Very unreliable. Will never use them again unless it starts leaking again.
Do not use this company. They are such a rip off. They will install cheap appliances and WAY overcharge for labor. No transparency for the charges on the invoice. Took advantage of my wife at home alone and ripped us off. Highly NOT recommended. Call another company who is fair and honest.
Called for a quick estimate. They gave me a 2 hour window to come over. Came home from work to meet their repair person. 2 hour window came and went. No phone call or email from Cummings. Nothing. Went back to work. 30 minutes later my door camera showed Cummings person finally coming over. Their office calls me says they are there. Sorry, you guys are late. I'm already back at work. They wanted to reschedule. Called another company (Silverado) and not only were they on-time... they actually apologized for being a couple minutes early.
Don't even waste your time calling this place unless you like wasting money and time. I called them to get an estimate and they were very professional and have a slick automated setup. It all got worse from there. Two guys came over and didn't even understand my plumbing (which I had already figured out). They then gave me a $1200 quote to do the work incorrectly. Luckily, I was able to contact my favorite plumber who had previously been unavailable and he did the work correctly for only $300 (i.e. $900 less than Cumming's estimate for not even doing it correctly)

From November 2019 service: A couple guys came to confirm that the leak in my toilet was due to the wax ring being damaged and that the toilet would need to be replaced. Due to costs, I went with the most economical but they couldn't provide me with options, just the one in the truck. They installed the toilet but I needed them to come back due to the toilet being loose from the foundation/not properly installed. It's still loose today. They were not very friendly and seemed inexperienced. This is closer to 1.5 stars than 2. I will be using another plumbing service.

I had a great experience with the repiping of my house. Mike Determan and his team were very courteous, professional, and answered all my questions. He called me to check on the progress of the job, which was nice.
My needs were small, but this company gave 100% customer service with a minor fix. Vincent fixed my problem, gave me good advice to consider, and advised me to call with any issues no matter how small.
Great customer service!
My bill for having my water heater replaced was way more than the quote I was given. No one seemed to care about the price difference in labor and wouldn't do anything when I called to complain. The tech also replaced two flex lines and when I asked why, he said they could possibly leak. He said they weren't expensive but I was charged an additional $51.
I feel like it was a bait and switch experience and unnecessary parts were added on to up the bill. This company obviously doesn't care about customer service.
I will not use this company again. Beware.
Hate their TV commercial!!!! Would never call them for plumbing services. Please get rid of the woman that has the most annoying voice! You might get more business with a better commercial!!!

The service is very expensive, and the invoice does not explain how much each thing costs
Just wanted to let you know how the appointment went with the Plummer you sent to my house on The 22 of June to Jusnic CIr. 85705.
Adan Perea (Or maybe known as Hot shot Plummer) came to my house to check out a leak I had in the front outside faucet. He went under the house and came out with the horrible news that the entire house needed a repipe because all of the galvanized pipes were leaking and for $800 dollars he could cap off the faucet and for $8000 he could repipe the entire house. I paid him $250 to stop the leak. But then I had no use of the front faucet. For two days I had to worry and fear that at almost 80 years old and living on social security I had to come up with $8000 dollars to save my home. I guess you taught him well on how to scam and lie for one more almighty dollar from an unsuspecting senior. Shame on you Cummings Plumbing and shame on you Adan Perea.
I called over 6 different Plummers in the Tucson area to get more estimates of a repipe. You have wasted my time and stressed me out. You have wasted the time of staff of the good folks at the other plumbing establishments. They had to come out to my home and give me estimates of plumbing repairs that were not needed.
I finally found a true Patriot and honest person with Silverado Plumbing. He went under the house and reassured me that there were no leaking galvanized pipes and that for under $200 bucks he could fix the faucet leak and save me the $8000 Cummings Plumbing wanted. Shame on you Cummings Plumbing and shame on you Adan Perea.
You can be assured that this email and many like it will be circulating around the Tucson area. No senior should have to experience the fear and stress you have caused me from the unbelievable deceit and dishonesty. Shame on you Cummings and shame on you Adan Perea.
I have lived in the Tucson area for over 50 years, and I know a lot of people, they will all hear about the shit scam you tried to dump on me. This email will go out to every Plummer in Tucson Area and every person I know. There has got to be a few more honest a respectful Plummers out there. I can tell you that Goettl and yes I can spell it, tried the same shit with me a few years back and they will never step foot in my house again.
Have wonderful day and enjoy the profits you are making now because its going get worse for you shit heads soon.
My pronoun is Kiss my Ass
Drywall part of the job I would not recommend. Spitting in my neighbour's property is not part of the deal either.
Manners - overall -, and communication about when and when they would not be here did not seem to happen with the drywall team.
Unlike the plumbers, this crew we did not feel comfortable having around.
Hopefully there are better around.

Charged my elderly mom almost 7k to dig a few holes and replace a plastic pipe. They even managed to screw that up and she had to call other plumbers in to fix their mistakes! Poorly done job using defective materials. Based on estimates we got from other plumbers, this job should have been about 1500.000. They absolutely took advantage of her and her situation! Terrible company. Do your research, many unhappy customers. Look them up on BBB. They are absolute crooks.
I called Cummings Plumbing for a job because I had used them many years ago with fantastic results. Not this time. I had to convince the plumber I preferred to check for leaks before signing the bill and paying him. Luckily I did. I found a leak at all five lines he worked on. I thought it was a plumber's job to find a leak, not the customer's. He even accused me of creating leaks because I found leaking loose connections. He was rushed because he may have needed to go to another job. That isn't my problem. I hired a professional plumber to ensure the job would have been done correctly the first time...no leaks. This plumber is immature for accusing customers of creating leaks and isn't capable of detecting his own leaks. Pretty sad. I hope his customer service and, more importantly to me, his plumbing skills improve, going forward. I will definitely try a different plumbing company the next time. He fixed all leaks before leaving but if I had not found them, it would had been worse service.
After several years using Cummings Plumbing I am switching my service to Eco Air LLC. Cummings put in a new air conditioning unit for us about 3 years ago and ever since then, ever year when the weather gets hot we have problems and the air conditioner goes out. Each time it takes 1-2 days for them to come out and fix it. Yesterday was the last straw when our air went down again while it was 117 outside! As usual, they couldn't get to us until 4:00 the next day and didn't even offer cooling fans or anything to help us through the extreme heat until then! Eco Air was at my neighbors fixing her unit and actually took time out to come over to look at ours despite having many more calls to do. They fixed it in 10 minutes and we were back up and running and all at a great price. The problem this time was blow fuses that were installed incorrectly (loose wires) causing them to blow out. 2nd shoddy workmanship problem in 3 years. Cummings charges a lot of money for their service and I expected better but yesterday was the last straw. If you need good service at a reasonable price check out Eco Air LLC. (730-8563) They go the extra mile, do it right the first time, and the prices won't break your wallet.
We've had many plumbers over many years fix or install many things. When an underground pipe to our water main supply left a pool of water outside one morning, we called Cummings. They had done a few small indoor jobs for us. They brushed out her on a Saturday, turned off the water where the leak was and found a way to keep household water available.
It was a 5 day job. Tucson Water was involved, installing new meter to new hookup. Every person in the job was courteous and a supervisor stopped by twice to make sure the job was done right.
No arm-twisting needed. They completed the job, cleaned up and all is well. We've had a couple of repairs on other things and they do a professional job. It may be costly to have plumbing repairs. We have learned we get what we pay for.
Look at ALL the reviews of this company. They have no idea how to run a business. Go someplace else. Anywhere. Just not here.

Let me start out by saying I will never call you people again. I know you advertise as 24 seven that is truly not true. I called you left a message, then I got a text from you saying a tech would be calling me as soon as possible. What the text should have said was you're closed and you're not 24 seven. I waited and waited and waited. And finally I called another company that is truly 24 seven and they came out and fixed my problem. I did get a text from you this morning trying to set me up for 24 hours more so 36 hours later after my original call you were available. Un believable.
If you have money to burn use Cummings. I spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on plumbing and within 2 months had a leak on a outside shutoff that was threaded wrong. Called them only to find out that I would be charged again. They replaced a kitchen sink, and after my disposal was not working. Called again and they tried to sell me one of theirs. There was nothing wrong with the disposal prior. I Told them no thanks and called another plumber who did an excellent and professional job. I would never ever use Cummings again. I'd rather go without water.
I used this company for several years with great results - however they seem to have gone down hill in the last couple of years. I had a water heater replaced and was grossly overcharged for the unit, so much for trust. I attempted to use them for HVAC repair and realized that the tech was just changing parts - and charging me for parts that should have been under warranty - a neighbor helped with with the HVAC and he was able to get the parts for free? Also trusted them with the annual service but found a rusty mess on the coils that was never addressed. Now I am out several thousand $$$.

Our main water line split over a weekend, Hard to find plumbers to come out on the spur of the moment and get bids. Cummings came out immediately and reviewed our excavation of the water leak on the schedule 40 plastic that was from 1990.
They recommended a complete replacement (which, as I did have another split about 15 years ago) I agreed to, and they came and replaced about 140 feet of residential inbound water from the meter to our house.
It was an expensive repair, and has only a 25 year life/guarantee on the polytube they used. Would have preferred to entertain the cost of copper, as the polytube was hideously expensive, especially in light of the 25 year estimated life cycle....
To their Credit:
They did come out, they did install a temporary line,
The technicians worked diligently and all dealings were professional and the worksite was left in great condition
The worst most grating TV and radio commercials. The woman's sing-songy, crazy fast delivery make it impossible to understand anything she's saying. We didn't even get to experience their services, the commercials sent us running to another plumbing business called Coronado. Seems like a huge waste of money.

My recent experience says do not use this company unless you want to be overcharged then insulted and threatened when you raise a question. Yesterday I was charged $234 to replace a hose bib! The new bib costs less than $10 and the guy was here about half an hour. He then proceeded to turn the main water valve back on and told me that the main valve was broken and would have to be replaced or we would have no water to the house. I told him I didn't see much choice but to replace the valve and he gave me a price of over $900 which I told him was outrageous, but saw no option. I then went to the airport to pick up my returning wife. When I got home he had replaced the valve and left.
This company changed its pricing policy about a year ago and does not now give itemized prices, just a dollar total, take it or leave it. I have now gotten two calls from their office demanding payment and insulting and threatening me if I don't pay immediately. I told them I wanted an itemized bill with the charges for parts and labor broken out, only to be told that they don't do itemized billing. We have been customers of Cummings for more than ten years and always got itemized bills until last year.
Obviously not a company that values its customers. Won't do business with them again.
Cumming Plumbing Review
This place is the worse. We had small leak at top of hall wall and Travelers Insurance referred us to them. First guy came out at 3:45 and would not even get a ladder out and fix the leak. Said it's A/C and we'll send A/C guy out. He did not have a business card nor provide name. Next guy Miguel came out and spent three hours and charged us $575. Kept going out to his truck and obvious did not have a clue what he was doing.
They referred us to Steamy Concepts since would not fix and next thing we know they are ripping out our walls, ceilings and bathroom vanity. And then referred to Royalty Restoration. Close to $10,000 in damages all due to Cummings not fixing water leak when first called.
Next day still leaking so called them back. Sent two plumbers(one Blaise Edmunson) out and in 15 minutes agreed was leak and told us would be $348 to fix on top of the $575 already paid. Refused and they called boss and then they fixed for free but refused to refund the $575. They were trying hard to talk us into re-piping whole house. To the tune of $12,000 as Cummings told us we have defective pipes. They were going to put in the same crap pipes just with a different name.
Called for supervisor and still waiting for call back. Do not use this place. Obvious reason they are always running ads and get such awful reviews. Answer: They are terrible and should be shut down. Wish I read the reviews before instead of trusting Travelers insurance agent.
Horrible and dishonest. Said my Air conditioner would cost $3k to fix but that what I needed was a new one that cost $11k. Was here for only 15 minutes. High pressure sales on me to agree to the new unit. Said he couldn't get parts to repair for at least two weeks Totally felt scammed. I refused. Then called a local company that I had used in the past but wasn't sure they would service East Tucson. They came out and fixed my air conditioner in a half hour and only charged me $176. I will never call g to his company again and will tell everyone how dishonest they are
Save your time, money and aggravation and call ANYONE else. Called to clear roots from drain. Washer was backing up when draining. Two tech went to clean out and said they cleared the line, and proceeded to try to sell Me a $14k sewer upgrade. I was charged $240 and have still not received a receipt....no water was run to be sure it was clear. I tried to do laundry right after they left and had the same problem. I called back and was told they would come back. They reluctantly did and tried to charge me an additional $240. I asked them to leave. I had another plumber come out the next day to fix what Cummings clearly could not. They left the metal cap and plastic cover off (not how they found it) and left their shovel. So much for attention to detail!

DO NOT USE THEM! Had issues with toilet and shower backing up at our rental house. They came and charged $525 and says they snaked it three times. Did not fix the problem. Said for $2100 could do a whole clean out. Yah right. I was born at night, just not last night. Called a top rated yelp plumber, came out quickly and fixed the issue quickly for $125. Complete rip off here.
I highly recommend not using Cummings Plumbing due to miscommunication over a project price. I was given the price for annual maintenance for a tankless water heater over the phone. When two plumbers arrived the next day they wouldn't honor the quoted price. In fact it was inflated by four times. I then spoke to the Gen Manager. He stated it was his mistake regarding the misquoted price. While he stated he could lower the price it was still far higher than other quotes I received. No thanks.

What a pleasure it has been to be doing business with Cumming Plumbing for so many years. They have serviced my customers for several years without a complaint. They are always on time and their plumbers are knowledgeable and professional. They've even showed up at my house at MIDNIGHT when my AC went out and only charged me $100 to replace a capaciter...AT MIDNIGHT! Who does that? CUMMINGS DOES! I appreciate their business!
One more thing. If you give them a try, please tell them that I sent you! You won't be dissapointed!

I had a very poor experience; however, the owner and I agreed on a mutually beneficial agreement to settle the dispute. While I will not return, it is important to note that the owner did something about it and this was likely an isolated event.
Prices - Good
Quality - Good

I won't recommend this company. It's pushing to sell new furnace, although my A/C is not overused or not that broken or disabled. New strategy of company became all about profit, not about customers. It used be a nice local family business. Now it's a pushy fancy retailers, not a good mechanics.

Had to change out my Polybutylene pipes in my house and Cummings was recommended to me by a friend. This is with out a doubt the worst company I have ever worked with professionally or personally. They told me the job would last about six or seven days they finished in just over a month. They moved my washer during the process dislodging the hose inside the washer. When my wife used the washer it flooded the house which caused $5000 damage. I asked Leroy Johnson the Vice President to pay my deductible and he claimed they were not responsible. Cummings also used outside contractors which they did not supervise at all and during the installation of the pipe they broke a gas line in the attic, walked through my ceiling and broke a mirror.
It was also very hard to get in touch with Leroy Johnson as he did not return my phone calls but when I finally got in touch with him I found him to be very unprofessional. He did not think he owed me anything for taking thirty five days to finish the job and causing damage to my house. Please do not use this company if you want the job done right. If I could have I would have given them a negative star rating.
Be forewarned! If you require any digging, cover your wallet quickly. These people are adept at billing. Had to have some pipes reconnected requiring minimal digging. They wanted 5k. Found another company, paid 750. They have to pay for all those TV ads. Go elsewhere!
I am furious. I called Cummings Plumbing for a simple estimate to replace a fifteen year old water softener. Instead, they came out and gave me an sales pitch estimate for a ScaleBlaster SB-175. This is an electronic unit that is supposed to give you soft water with no salt or ion exchange. How? By wrapping a couple of couple of wires around your water pipe and pulsing the water with frequencies that will make the calcium and magnesium explode into very fine particles. Not only that, but this unit will magically make these particles seek out the calcium and magnesium in your pipes and descale your entire plumbing system. Holy Crap! That is amazing! These units are a total scam and have no science to back up their outrageous claims. As an electronics and Radio Frequency engineer (MSEE), I immediately recognized this as total BS.
One can buy one of these worthless pieces of junk for as low as $250.00 over the net. The advertising says that they are easy to install for DIY'ers. So, what was the estimate that they gave me? $1,595.00 (oh, they gave me a $100.00 discount for a total of $1,495.00.) You know, the very worst part about this was the estimate was prepared and given to me by the owners son, Jake Cummings himself. Hang your heads in shame, Cummings Plumbing. You will never get any further business from me.
================================
P.S.: Don't believe the comment below from the owner for a moment. It's a big fat BS lie. And NO I Did Not receive any quote for a water softener like I wanted. They were strictly pushing the worthless Scale Blaster scam. BIG BIG profit margin on that piece of junk.
Cummings has been around a long time but hasn't been any good for at least fifteen years. There's a reason they're cheap.
Visited by Cummings plumbing. Obnoxious interaction. The main guy (not the apprentice) was rude, unprofessional and insulting. Not a friend to the customer I'm afraid. I would give zero stars if that was possible.

I called Cummings to diagnose and fix a problem with odor permeating my residence. The response was within 3 hours and the tech entered my residence, verified the problem, and went outside to examine the pipes with technology. He played the video of the findings and stated that the underground pipes were cracked and showed me the broken pipe on the camera. The estimate to repair was $15,000.00
The charge $250.00 for the diagnosis of a bogus problem.
Cals plumbing was called and diagnosed the problem and a need to replace the ring at the bottom of the toilet; new lines, and an anti bacterial solution, all at a considerable cost. The odor continued.
My insurance agent recommended Spartan Plumbing, a professional company, who spent time in diagnosing the problem and replaced a vent located on the roof next to the HVAC system. the original vent was too short causing the fumes to enter the house through the HVAC system. Additionally, a small leak in the laundry area was identified and repaired. I asked to have them service my HVAC unit too. They spent time and used process to identify, isolate, and repair the problems with professionalism and at a much lesser cost.
I highly recommend Spartan and their team of trained technicians and do not call Cummings

We called with a broken pipe- one they had fixed previously for us for about $150. This time they said they were under new management and it would be $476 - That's the last time we call them. They took advantage of us in an emergency situation which shows their true colors.
When I was given a quote I was never informed of a travel fee for being outside the metro area. After calling and discussing the fee I was told it was $35 to Vail and they were sorry. I informed them that I was charged $75 and they corrected the $35 and stated for septic service it was $75.00. A travel feed was never mentioned in the quote despite the fact that I gave them my address. Additionally, the technician stated my septic drained good but had a bad pitch in a line but he never measured the pitch. Does this mean he had calibrated eyes and could read a pitch in a line without a level? I am not happy with any of the service and will never use Cummings Plumbing again and will recommend my friends find another company.
