Dan is your person to call. He always responds to any of my messages in a timely manner. A very nice and fair guy. I've had his number for years that came as a referral from a friend. I highly recommend Dan to you.

Dan did a great job with some drywall, tile, and shelf re-work for a closet with water damage.  He was quick with the estimate and fit us into his schedule in about a week and completed the job a week or two later.  Good solid job.

I contacted Daniel yesterday for a job I needed for my house due to water damage. We have a meeting set up for next Monday so I can't comment on his work just yet, but I felt the need to comment on his professionalism and quick response time. Daniel was so quick to respond to my problem and he was so understanding of the urgency of the situation. I hope (which I don't doubt at all) that his work is up to par with his demeanor because if it is, I have found my new handyman! My fiancé and I are getting married in the fall and plan to spend some of the gift money on home renovations. I hope we can entrust Daniel with our future jobs as well.

I've had Dan successfully fix two situations at my tenant's home over the past two years.

First off, Dan is very friendly to talk to. He's patient and has an easy going attitude with a willingness to help. I required help with my tenants whom needed several fire detectors replaced. What I thought was an easy like for like replacement turned into a hardwire effort after Dan's inspection. My second was a plumbing fix for two leaky toilets.

Dan was able to work with my tenant's schedule and openly communicate with me. He's definitely on top of answering RFQs, emails, texts, and calls. Basically, a modern handyman who knows how to navigate technology and provide a quality service with fair pricing. Accepting Square payments is a plus!

My first interaction with him was via a Yelp quote, and the second time around I just emailed him directly with details.

I rarely write reviews on Yelp but I felt this write-up was necessary since I was so impressed with Daniel's work.  I hired him to reframe some kitchen cabinets, do trim work, and install a double-oven and my wife and I were so pleased with the outcome.  Not only is the quality of his work excellent, but Daniel is very responsive, reliable, and professional unlike other handymen I have dealt with in the past.  I definitely plan to hire him again in the future.

Dan is awesome.  We needed a door replaced after a burglary.  He was totally responsive and called back within an hour.  He answered all my questions and was great to deal with.  He was on time and did a fantastic job.  I called ten different handyman and Dan was by far the best guy for the job.  Really good guy.  Felt totally safe having him in our home and dealing with him.  Would totally use him again.

My husband found Daniel through the Yelp reviews - They were ALL so positive.  He emailed Daniel and several other handyman services on Yelp and Angie's List ....only Daniel responded within a day and he dropped by the next day to to asses the job.

Daniel helped us with a few home improvement projects:

Daniel was always right on time and brought everything necessary to finish the job, and was very thorough and detailed on the job.
After each project, Daniel would clean the area.  He left the place as he found it. He did not try to overcharge us and was so friendly and wonderful to work with!

I needed someone to rebuild about fifteen feet of fencing and build me a new gate. I checked YELP reviews of local handymen and decided to call JDM. Right away I noticed that Dan was very friendly and personable.We made arrangements for him to come out and give me an estimate. He arrived right on time and I was able to show him exactly what I wanted him to do. I liked that he listened to what I had to say and that he was very organized and professional. He took a lot of notes and pictures on his tablet and told me he would email me a detailed estimate within a couple of days. He did not disappoint. A couple of days later I received a very detailed estimate including what he intended to do and the total cost of the labor and material he needed to get the job done right. The price was right so we agreed on a start date. He showed up exactly when he said he would and went right to work. I have to say that besides being organized and easy to talk to, he is very skilled in what he does! He did a fantastic job on the fence and gate and totally exceeded my expectations. I am very pleased with the work he did and will definately call him again for other projects that I will need to have done. I highly recommend him to everyone who needs a great handyman.

I normally don't leave reviews but my husband and I are very impressed by Dan's professionalism and work. Dan was able to install a ceiling fan where there used to be an old light fixture. I had called another handyman, who came to our house and told us that because it was a difficult job, he couldn't do it. Dan came on time, got the job done quickly, and without any headaches. Now we have a perfectly installed fan in our room! We will be calling him back for other jobs around the house.

Daniel Medina, the owner/operator of JDM Local Handyman, is an exceptional choice for your around the house projects.  I'm selling my home and it needed numerous things done before it was ready to sell.  Daniel is polite, punctual, a very good communicator, and most importantly of all, he does great work.  He is fluent in English and Spanish and gets the work done when he says it will be done.  My experience was so good, I have no tips on how he can do better.

Dan did a great job on a drywall and paint repair.  He was on time.  The job went quickly and smoothly.  The repair and texture that was needed on the wall looks perfect.  And his rates are extremely reasonable.  Give him a call or text.

My wife and I are putting our home up for sale and we are on a fast timeline.  We have called several handymen to try and see if they could come out and fix some small things around the house prior to putting it on the market.  The only person that replied was Dan.

Though Dan was all booked up, he understood our situation and made room for us in his calendar.  We were a bit relieve and skeptical at the same time since we were desperate for a handyman.

Boy all of our worries were put to rest, Dan came in and spent the day at our house fixing everything from the scuffs on the walls, the doorbell, outlets, and garage strip.

I live in an older house and not much work has been done for over 40 years so things are needing to be fixed.  I found JDM on Yelp and have not been disappointed.  We needed some drywall replaced in the entryway due to termite damage and his work was excellent.  I also had him look at a leaking faucet and when I bought it and contacted him about the installation, he got here within a day and did a great job.  He also gave me advice on what I should paint first on my painting project.  As soon as I'm finished with the painting I'll be calling him to install the new floor molding.  He's extremely personable, does a great job and is very good at explaining things.  It's nice to have found someone who is reliable and good.  I would certainly recommend him.

Found Danny by doing a Yelp search for local handyman services. We required ceiling fan installation for two rooms. The initial phone consultation was pleasant and he was forthcoming with fees and information. He scheduled the install for the following day and arrived promptly at the time he scheduled. He was very courteous and thorough. Both fans were installed within 2 hours and we are very happy with his service. He also quoted us on a few more projects which we will be scheduling soon.

Best handyman on the planet! Dan is very professional and polite. His rate is competitive. He worked on my door until it is perfect. I did lots of research and Dan has many returning customers because he is so good! I will definitely hire Dan again for future projects.

I searched for someone to mount a tv and install the wiring into the wall. Going off a referral from a friend of a friend, Daniel came out to look at the wall and provide an estimate. The estimate was extremely reasonable and Daniel was more than happy to explain everything and answer all questions. He's very knowledgeable and provided the estimate, ordered the necessary parts and completed the installation all within a matter of a few days. Very efficient, was EARLY and I now get to enjoy watching tv without seeing a bunch of wires sticking out all over the place.

I made an inquiry via Yelp regarding utilizing my microwave as a kitchen vent on Saturday. I would need to have the vent tubes installed along with holes made. I provided a photo for reference.

Dan has completed 3 jobs for me.  He replaced two entry doors, painted my house and repaired rain gutters.  Each job was completed on time, at a fair price and to my complete satisfaction.

Dan is the man!  The handyman that is.  Well, MY new handyman from now on at least.

Due to a plumbing issue, a few (large) holes needed to be made in my home's exterior walls by my plumber to access and replace pipes.  Drywall, stucco, paint, but most importantly, skill, were all going to be necessary to have these holes fixed and get my home looking like those holes never existed.

I requested bids from several handymen and contractors, but Daniel's was presented in the most professional manner; and quickly.  The amount was also right on the nose for what I thought would be a fair price to pay.

The work was scheduled, and result is flawless.  Like, without photos, I really can't tell where the holes were.  He blended his work in to the original wall perfectly.  I couldn't be happier with the work that was done!

The kicker: I never met Daniel in person, nor talked to him on the phone.  I'm a busy guy (as is he), and we were able to communicate through this whole process via email.  Since all the repairs were made to the outside of my home, I simply gave him authorization to do his thing while I was at work.

I'm looking forward to hiring Daniel for future projects!

This is the second time I've used Dan and he's awesome. I found him here on Yelp several months ago when I had a kitchen drawer that was broken. It was never properly installed by my builder but Dan did a great job fixing it and it's still working well today. Several weeks ago, I had a light in my laundry room that went out and needed a new fixture installed. Dan to the rescue again. He texted yesterday (on a holiday no less) to confirm our appointment and his arrival time. He showed up right on time and after looking at my light, went out to Home Depot to purchase another one. He brought two back for me to check out and I chose the one I liked and it works perfectly and looks so much better than the old one! Dan is professional, prompt, clean, friendly, and does a great job. I would highly recommend him!

A professional, ethical and diligent handyman!  It was my unexpected pleasure to benefit from Dan's meticulous work, and I have already asked him back to tackle drywall needed due to a recent HVAC installation.  He is far better than anyone out there, and here's why: He comes out to review the required work and provides suggestions for consideration prior to compiling a detailed estimate of the scope and cost of the tasks.  As a longtime project manager in the banking industry, it is wonderfully refreshing to do business with someone who clearly focuses on quality from the outset. Dan is always punctual and his communication is unfailingly courteous. His work is very precise and clean, unlike so many who leave a debris field in the wake of their presence. I hate to call him a handyman, as that conjures something less than the stellar and versatile person he is. He provided a variety of services for us: built and replaced the wood door to a gas meter cabinet (and even repainted the stucco around it although it wasn't expected!); assembled two heavy storage units for the garage; installed an outdoor lamp post; built and replaced damaged wood on our driveway gate and repainted it to match, repaired the stucco and re-mounted our American flag, and installed a new light fixture in the kitchen, to name most.  Dan is the most trustworthy and skilled individual out there, so don't be surprised if you can't see him right away: good things come to those who wait!

Dan will get the job done.  I recently hired Dan for some commercial patch and paint work.  He was easy to work with and kept constant communication even though I booked him weeks in advance.  When the job grew from a couple walls to an entire office and with a firm deadline, Dan came through.  It's not often you find someone so eager to please and perform.  His flexibility and speedy work saved the day.  Highly recommend!

I had a couple of emergency repairs that needed to be completed. Emailed Daniel at midnight and got a response at 8am telling me he'll come by later in the afternoon. He's on time, works fast and efficiently. When he was running an errand, he would call and text to update me with his status so that I wasn't sitting around waiting for him. That is one thing I appreciate the most from contractors, being courteous with my time. Another great thing about Daniel is that he's so cool and calm. When my temper flared with a horrible supplier, I was ready to give up. Daniel knew this supplier was our only hope to complete the project in the time frame I gave him. So he called the supplier back and in the calmest and coolest way, he got what we needed. He went and picked up the supply too so that I didn't have to have the urge to go off on them. I highly recommend Daniel and will make sure to keep him in my contacts for future projects.

Called for plumbing help, plumber charged me $2,099 for a plumbing job and would not leave my house until he was paid fully. A high end job typically cost $585. I think this company is completely dishonest and should be avoided.

We hired Dan to install a new door, frame and install a new closet and install crown moulding. He did a great job, from start to finish. When I requested a quote, he responded in less than an hour. His estimate was competitive with other guys and very detailed. I appreciated that he was friendly, courteous, and respectful of my home. He kept the mess to a minimum, and thoroughly cleaned up and stored his materials and equipment neatly at the end of each day. His workmanship is sharp, and he paid close attention to detail.

Dan is fantastic! I felt very comfortable with him in my home. He first came out to finish installing a washer and dryer that Home Depot's contractors completely botched at a moment's notice on a Friday afternoon! We then requested that he come back to move several electrical outlets and mount tvs. He was very thorough and asked me questions I didn't even think about. He handled everything, repaired the dry wall, and even painted. We will definitely be asking him to come back for our next project!

Well, this was disappointing. Contacted by message on this site a month ago. I explained that our front doors were no longer lined up/square and needed to be realigned. He just responded with doors warp over time. I replied back telling him that I'm well aware of how doors warp but that's not the problem and I asked if he could come out and just take a look at them. No response.

Very unprofessional and uncool.

I had an issue with my washing machine.. would not drain. Daniel came by and checked out the plumbing, draining and water supply.. did not even charge me! He was very professional and respectful, and I look forward to hiring him for my drywall and remodelling projects. Super nice guy!!

Dan is a great handyman and electrician. He fixed multiple things in our home and was very responsive to our requests. 5 stars!

I contacted Dan on a Wednesday afternoon and he completed my tile job in less than 24 hours after we first communicated.  He was prompt, polite, knowledgeable and efficient.  I am very happy with the work he completed in my bathroom and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.  Cutting tile and coming in and out of the house after the rain can get messy, but Dan took the time to make sure my house, driveway and bathroom were all spotless when he left!  I appreciate that attention to detail and will definitely call Dan for future projects on my home.

I contacted Dan weeks in advance and sent him pictures of the job I needed done in my house. He responded by saying that he could do that kind of work and from all the info he was giving me, I assumed he could get the job done. I reminded him it was really important for me to get it done on the days we agreed because of deadlines. So I didn't bother contacting anyone else.

He arrives and takes a look and starts making excuses about how he doesn't have his tools, is not willing to go rent any, etc. I take a minute to talk to another worker who was renovating my house, and Dan disappears. He texts me and says he can't do the job. Who does that? He didn't have enough courtesy or professionalism to tell me in person that he couldn't do the job.

I call him asking him why he disappeared, and he makes excuse after excuse as to why he feels pressured, doesn't feel comfortable, doesn't have the right tools, doesn't want to have me rent him any, etc etc. I get it if you're not competent to do a certain job and figure that out by doing an onsite inspection. But don't give people the impression weeks before an important deadline, that you can do the job, only to leave them hanging. Not to mention just disappearing without saying anything in person. That's tacky and poor customer service.

Moral of the story, call someone else for your fixing needs.

We had a Garage entry door and a water heater closet door that were deteriorating from weather. I contacted Dan. He came out and gave me an estimate. Dans estimate was reasonable. I told Dan what door I wanted. He said he would pick up the door and didn't even ask for a deposit.

Dan and his helper came out on a Friday. removed the exiting doors. Dan found some old termite damage in the frame. He repaired it, He fixed the cement threshold to make sure the door would fit correctly. Installed the new door for the garage made sure it was straight and level, cleaned up. You wouldn't even know they were here. He made a custom door for the Water heater closet. installed and painted.

We would definitely recommend Dan and will calling him for other project we have.

We are very happy with JDM.  We noticed that it was very difficult to get a general contractor to call us back I'm guessing because this was considered such a small job.  So we reached out to JDM to get us a quote to refinish the kitchen cabinets.  His quote was very reasonable and he was able to start immediately.  The job took a couple days longer than expected but it was well worth the wait.  The finished product looked amazing!  There were no brush strokes left behind on the cabinets and it looks very professional.

This was the first time I contacted Dan for a job.  He installed a new range hood and re-caulked around the entire kitchen counter and sink. I contacted him over the weekend for a quote, he came out, looked at the job and gave me a number. Then we scheduled the job for this afternoon.  Dan was friendly, efficient, and everything looked great when he was finished.  He cleaned up thoroughly and was done and out the door in great time.
I will definitely call Dan for other jobs as needed.

Dani was a great help! Our glass shower doors were getting stuck and coming off the track constantly. Within thirty minutes he had them back to running smoothly for just the basic service fee!

I found JDM (Dan) on a community Facebook group highly recommended by a few members. I was looking for a handyman to build a custom wooden cover to hide my AC unit. But by chance, I also asked about a custom pantry project I wanted in my kitchen. I've received 3 other quotes from cabinetry companies. All were above my budget for semi custom and mediocre materials. I showed Dan pictures and he understood what I was looking for and quoted me within budget.
He completed the project in 3 days! He just had to come back to install the doors that I had to order. Dan exceeded my expectations. Good quality and workmanship. He was professional, fair and honest.

Dan repaired a termite damaged wooden window frame at my house. He was efficient and very professional. I'm 100% satisfied with the quality of work. I would definitely use Dan for future services.

We were getting really frustrated trying to find someone who would take on a small-but very important-drywall patching job on three window sills in preparation for retrofit windows, along with some minor stucco patching. Daniel is our new handyman from now on. My husband and I really liked him. He's very nice, polite and professional.  He got our dishwasher installed properly. I had him installed my water filter faucet and sink faucet, a couple of power outlets, finished up the kitchen backsplash. We are most definitely going to hire him again for our next projects.

I usually don't care for writing online reviews but this I have to do.  Dan is the MAN!  He did a great job patching up my ceiling and fixing my bathroom door.  He really knows his craft and is great at many things - I learned a lot from him.  Dan is very knowledgeable, friendly, professional and does his work with great pride and quality.  He was fun to talk with and it was like working with a friend.  Great guy, great work.  Will definitely refer him to my friends and family.

Dan has installed and repaired various items in my home always with an outstanding outcome.  He just remodeled my bathroom putting in a replacement corner shower, new floor tile, fan, indirect lighting and paint.  He is the neatest person I've ever worked with as well as a perfectionist with his work and always working in a professional manner.  I highly recommend Dan for any and all home repairs and remodels.

As I get older there are more and more things that I find I can no longer do around the house.  I have tried but the list of things that need to get done kept getting longer and longer.  
I started looking for a handyman and after reviewing the people reviewed on Yelp, I called Dan and had him come over and give me an estimate for the first 7 things on my list.
He gave me a date and time for his first visit and he showed up when he said he would.  Within a day or two he had a computer generated estimate emailed to me and he indicated that he uses a scheduling system and that he would be working on over the weekend and on Monday we agreed to a date and time.
On the date in question, I received a text saying his ETA had changed from 8:30 to 9:00 AM and at 9:00 he showed up and went to work completing 6 of the 7 items - they were done well, he cleaned up after himself and worked very quickly.  He said that he would come back the following Wednesday to complete the last item and I had actually asked him to do 3 additional items, which he said he would try and complete when he came back.
Early Wednesday morning I got a text saying that his ETA was 8:45 and that is when he showed up and did a great job on the last remaining item from Friday and completed 2 of the 3 new items before time ran out in the afternoon.
That is a long winded explanation of how professional he is.  So many of the small contractors I have dealt with in the past were not very reliable when it came to timeliness and communication.  He does it right!  He tells you what he can and cannot do, and then shows up when he says and does what he says.  In addition he is extremely polite and friendly.
I feel like I have found someone that I can count on and someone I can trust.  Which is important when you cannot do all the things you used to do and it is important to keep up with things to keep you house looking and working like it should.
I would recommend Dan with out hesitation or reservation!

Dan was one of only two (out of nine contacted) handymen who actually came out to see the work I needed done, rather than just relying on photographs to give me an estimate.  He had his estimate to me that night, and as I had stressed that time was a factor, I really appreciated the prompt service.  He showed up in the time frame given, and he did an excellent job.  I would not hesitate to use his services again!

Dan is great. This is the second time we have had hired him and he is a jack of all trades. He is very quick to respond, has competitive prices, and is extremely nice. I highly recommend him.

I was searching for a plumber originally, because water was leaking out of the handle of my toilet's tank.  Well, due to the last so-called plumber I paid $95 to, to only rip me off and fix nothing at all, I was really weary of any company who had five star reviews.  

When I see a 5-star review now, I have to wonder, were those 5 starts bought, or were they given by actual happy customers who were pleased with the service they received? (as in this 5-star company that I had the grave misfortune of choosing):

I hoped I wasn't picking another scam company again!  I looked at probably 20 companies on here, plumbers and handymen and took the chance on him.  

He's a sweetheart, friendly, easy to talk to, knows what he's doing, and he'll return your calls and even come back if he needs to, to make sure you're happy.  In fact, he returned 3 times for this problem with my toilet.  

1st time, he thought maybe it was the handle, so I purchased a new handle - he waited 20 minutes for me to return with it. He installed that, but said it was more complicated than others he'd seen, so it took him awhile to install it.  His service call was $55, but I gave him $60 since he didn't have change and since it was more complicated than others.  It was the only porcelain/metal one they had and I didn't want another plastic one that turns that gross yellow color over time.  

But the next day, my floor was flooded with water again.  I told him I thought it was because the water was filling too high up then reaching the handle and leaking out, so prior to his arrival, I'd purchased a new toilet fill valve, thinking that needed to be replaced because maybe it was defective, but he said it seemed to still be good and wouldn't need to be replaced, but that he noticed the hose was leaking a little and maybe that should be replaced. He said it shouldn't leak out of the handle anyway, since it was brand new, but still it was anyway.  

So, he came back and adjusted the toilet fill valve to make sure the water was staying below the handle and said I could return the toilet fill valve but that if I wanted the hose replaced, I could go get that instead.  So, again he waited for me, even though he did offer to go himself.  I just prefer to go so I can pick out exactly the type of thing I want, incase there's a choice and I'm not great at giving directions, so I figured too, better I just go and quicker.  So I returned with the hose and he installed that.  I asked him if I owed him more $ and he said whatever I thought was fair, so I gave him $20 and he seemed ok with that.

7 hours later, my floor was flooded again!  So, I left him a voicemail in the early evening and then hadn't yet heard back the next day, so I called the next day and left another voicemail, then he did call me back that evening and set up a time to meet with me on Saturday.  Last night, I'd already figured on my own that the problem HAS to be the toilet fill valve because I think it just starts running on its own and then filling water above where it's set to stop, so last night, I just went ahead and re-purchased what I'd previously returned and figured I'd just ask him to install that.  

He told me he'd come back on Saturday even though he doesn't work on Saturday, and he did - even 20 minutes early too.  He was always on time or if he wasn't sure what time, he'd give me a close estimate.

So, the moral of this story is, I got lucky to pick a legitimate honest handyman who truly earned his five-star ratings.

Dan was awesome!  His estimate was on spot. He was prompt and he did a super job on our patio trellises. I would recommend his work to anyone.

Dan is great! He was efficinet, friendly and really knows his stuff. He demoed my closet and textured the walls in record time. Gonna have him do more projects, crown molding next. Dan is very helpful

Daniel was awesome to work with. I had my half-bath updated with new a vanity, mirror, toilet, bathroom fan and paint, including baseboards. His work and attention to detail were excellant. His communication, attitude, professionalism and customer service was the best you could get. Based on the work that was done, I went ahead and hired Daniel for an interior paint job of my home in about 10 days from now. Thanks for helping us out!!!

Dan is amazing and a true professional. He recently did my kitchen lights and hung my flat screens. He did such a great job I hired JDM for my bathroom as well.

We had Dan come over to do a list of things that had to be done before we painted the inside of the house.....he came for the estimate right on time...made sure he had all the information ...came back early on the day we agreed upon....he was awesome, efficient, clean, had a lot of ideas to help things go just right....amazing...we now have a great new handyman!

After getting 4 estimates and trying to decide who would be responsible accountable and honest. We decided to choose JDM for repairing rotten wood through the fascia and windows of our house.  I thought it was going to be impossible since no work had been done for over 15 years the wood was exposed and the paint chipped. We hired Daniel. At first he came and looked at the damage and told us that he would email our estimate. We didn't hear from him for over 2 days. But when we did the estimate was very precise and it was a pdf file which looked very professional.

Dan is a great handyman! He installed our vinyl gate, handicap ramp, and front door. Everything was done professionally and on time. Dan has great communication and responds to all phone calls/texts in a timely manner. I would highly recommend Dan for any project you have in your home. You will not be disappointed! He is reasonable with his prices and does things digitally, which I appreciate!

It seems the rule that handymen don't return requests for quotes or phone calls.
Or give a quote but won't put it in writing and then drop off the face of the earth. Dan is the exception.

And like another reviewer, Dan has not even started the project.   He responds to texts, stopped by to actually see the job and sends professional estimates which are beyond reasonable.

Mine isn't even a job he would normally do but he is doing it anyway to help me.

I have no doubts that it will work out but I'll come back to give him 6 stars.   He's a keeper. All these good reviews are going to make it harder to schedule him.

Update:  The work was done today.  Remove a dead dishwasher and put in some shelves.   Daniel showed up exactly on time with his helper,  set up and got to work. We got surprised when we saw the dishwasher was hardwired in.  Daniel took care of it.  There was something we had a misunderstanding about but we worked it out in the end and the selves look great.

Before he left I talked to him about two other jobs down the line.  

Bottom line is Daniel has great customer service, does quality work and is a nice guy on top of it.

Daniel is the owner of the company, he is the one who painted my red door, fast and very professional,  just the fact of doing business with the same person is gonna show up at your house is something I really like,  the job is guarantee,  if something happens to the job, he will fixed for FREE! Of course something I couldn't prevent, That is great customer service, I'm really happy with my red door

After calling around for estimates in getting a tv mounted amd becoming frustrated at pricing, daniel was referred to me and it was the best call I made! Amazing work at a great price. I couldnt be happier. Very friendly, punctual and pays attention to every detail... even vacuumed after just to be sure. I would highly recommend him... wait... I already have to several friends and family
