We called them to diagnose our AC problem.

Tech came out and said we were low on Freon (410A), it was going to cost $600 to refill it.

I asked him where is it leaking from, he stated probably a very small leak in the evaporator coil, but also stated that he never charged it or added dye to check for a leak with a UV light.

He insisted on charging me $79 for this assesment and never offered to actually find the leak. He was more interested in getting the $600 Freon Recharge Fee.

I will NO longer be utilizing Whimpys for anything!!!

We had them out the very next week to offer us a brand new system replacement and they kept offering us knockoff systems for more money than original systems. Sad to say the least.

Owners/Mmgt, you need to spend a lot of money training your sales and service teams. You also need to compensate differently, based on your go to market strategy.

Evan did some plumbing work for us this morning. The first words that come to mind in describing him are personable, professional, and competent. He answered questions without the impression of having to rush on to his next appointment once his work was completed . His sense of humor is yet another personal and engaging quality. I would not hesitate to request him for any future plumbing work.

I was visiting a neighborhood friend when she mentioned that water had backed up in her tub and shower. A visiting nurse recommended Wimpy's, as she didn't have a local plumber, but had called a few and been put on a list. She got a return call within 5 mins, giving a time she could expect to see a plumber. Next, she got a text, giving the name of the plumber, a little background on his experience, and that he was on his way to her location. Next thing we knew, Steven was at her door. He not only had a friendly personality,but we both felt confident that he knew how to fix her problem. Plus, he explained other options, to prevent the problem from happening again. I seem to complain, a lot lately, that good service is hard to find. Don't people care anymore? Wimpy's Plumbing has restored my faith that there are still companies out there who care about their business and more importantly, the people they serve.

I have never felt so ripped off in my life. Charged 1600.00 for a 40 gallon electric water heater 900.00$ that cost 500.00 2hrs labor700.00. Wonder how they sleep at night. Never again will I use them our recommend them. They just suck people dry.

At 8:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve, with a houseful of relatives expected the next day, our toilet clogged. When we attempted to plunger it, sewage backed up into the bathtub. Panic. I began called plumbers listed as 24 hour emergency. None of them were willing to come until at least the day after Christmas--until I called Wimpy's. Mike cheerfully agreed to come right over--imagine my relief and gratitude! Mike expertly fixed the problem and explained what had caused it.  (Make sure no guests ever flush baby wipes, especially if you have old iron pipes!)  The cost was very reasonable.  We couldn't be more pleased. Wimpy's is highly recommended!

This company is a huge ripoff!!  Quoted $200 to change a water filter which is laughable. Couple minor plumbing jobs totaled over $700!!  Will never use again.

Excellent company!! I highly recommend Wimpy's and their installation crew were superb! Very neat, cleaned up afterwards and wore masks.
They faced a surprising challenge and stayed to the end to install my new 2.5 Trane combined unit.

I recently had two toilets that were leaking and constantly filling the tanks.  This home sat empty for awhile before I purchased it.  I called to get the plumber there to replace the guts of the Kohler toilets.  When he arrived, he said it would cost too much to replace the guts and I should just get new toilets.   It started off as over $450 estimated to a Quote of $690 for a Gerber toilet.   I spoke to a family member who came out and replaced the 'guts' of both toilets for less than $40 and repaired them in a little over an hour.
So ...  why the upsell ?  shame on the plumber for trying to rip me off.  I want people to know that you need to be careful.

Wimpy's is a very professional, reliable, trusted business.  Mike came out on very short notice, was on time, professional, courteous and very pleasant and honest about work that was to be done.

This company provides quality service with professionalism! I really appreciated being able to speak with a knowledgeable office person who immediately scheduled me with a definite time slot. On arrival (on time) the plumber gave me a detailed description of the work recommended with a quote in writing and a specific time slot for his return to do the service. The office called to remind me a day ahead and the plumber called enroute and arrived on time. He was very friendly, performed his work diligently, kept the area perfectly clean, and fully reviewed his work with me when it was done. Great company! Believe the reviews. They came on time and checked for a possible water leak. It turned out I didn't have one, but they did show me how to check down the road if I thought I may have one. While he was here, Anthony took a look at our dishwasher. They did all that for a simple service fee.

Great company.  I've used them for plumbing and air conditioning.  They answer the phone, show up on time.  Most recently, when our water heater was leaking in our garage - I called them around 3pm - by 6pm we had a completely new water heater installed.  You don't have to price check them - they are always fair.  Great company - and I won't use anyone else.

We used Wimpy's to mill and line our old cast iron pipes.  We were very impressed with their work.  Very responsive to concerns and questions, completed the work in time.   Customer service was exceptional.  Highly recommended.

We called Wimpy's to get an estimate on a whole house re-pipe job. They came out that day, actually, and we had their estimate in 24hrs. It was 250% higher than the three other estimates we got later. Do your homework and don't get taken advantage of.

Called about A/C unit on a Saturday morning, they returned the call, and had a tech to me in less than an hour. He diagnosed the issue (I knew what it was), did not try to up sell me. They were respectful and fast. Good communication.
There was a $165 fee to come out on the weekend, plus the regular cost, but knocked out the 92 degree heat so it was worth it.

Last year I purchased a new to me home in Sarasota knowing full well it would need some work - especially pluming and a new HVAC system! We selected Wimpy's through an online search and read their reviews. They worked for us perfectly. They communicate well, call before arriving, show up on time, and do high quality work.
Not only would I hire them again... I did. This year I needed more plumbing done, and again they exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Wimpy's for any plumbing or HVAC job.

overall service from Wimpy's for both AC and plumbing has been great. We recently had Austin and Nathan here and both are all around great guys and very helpful and knowledgeable.

We use to hire Veterans Air and last time I called them for 6-month checkup on AC they tried to schedule me 5 months out. So my twice/year maintenance contract was really a once per year contract.

Sent an email to Wimpy's at 7:00 am and the tech was at our house by 10:00 am same day. And the techs are all nice and knowledgeable people. Very happy we switched to Wimpy's. We've used them for both plumbing and AC and very pleased with their service.

I've used Wimpy's exclusively for all of my plumbing and AC needs for the last 3 years.  That doesn't sound like a long time, but when you have a 1970's home that's needed new plumbing, a new backflow, toilets and garbage disposal replacement AND a new AC condenser in a system installed by someone else 4 years ago, I'd say I've had a lot of experience with them!  From the first phone call to Lori, to the professional, courteous, prompt technicians who explain every option and quote all pricing before starting the work, they are simply a pleasure to do business with, but most importantly, are a company I trust.  Highly recommend whether you have repair or installation needs.  (No, I'm not related to anyone at Wimpy's, but they make you feel like family!)

It's always difficult for me to call any service company for my rental. Owning an AC business myself yet having to call a company that does plumbing and air was head scratching however I know the lingo so I looked for reviews to help guide me. Wimpys popped up on Yelp as a favorable plumbing company so I went with them. From my first phone call to the last one these guys are good. Took care if several issues and yes the price was an eye opener but not bad. It's getting challenging out there. All cost keep going up. If I get highly skilled knowledgeable techs who fix problems instead of creating them then that works for me. Thanks to Anthony for being a stand up technician. The renters were very satisfied and all the problems are now gone.

Had a backed up drain in the house. Called Wimpy's and they sent Cody to the rescue. After about 20 minutes of assessing my problem and snaking the main drain in my front yard, everything was running like a charm. Definitely #1 in the #2 business!

Have used Wimpy's for both AC and Plumbing and have been very happy with the work done.  My grandparents always used Wimpys so now its a family tradition.  If your looking for a honest family run company to handle your plumbing and AC needs look no further.  Have had my Annual maintenance done on AC and never had any follow up issues technician showed me everything he was doing and what he found.  Just recently had a Halo 5 whole home water filtration installed due to poor water quality and instantly had better water and everything looks so clean from the install.  Totally worth having them out to your home.

Austin is the BEST guy EVER to repair our A/C when needed; he is professional, knowledgeable, polite, and most of all PATIENT with my multitudinous questions. He explains the different paths from wait and see to do it now. We had the sludge issue in Sept and again Sunday night. We had mold in our air handler and we were going to watch it to see if it needed remediation.

He recommended that we have him install:

Supply & Install Two 12 UV Systems & Oxidation System

EVERYONE at Wimpy's is fabulous, from Marla and Mike, to Jesse, Willie, Louie, Cody, and Celeste - I can't recommend the company more highly.

I searched yelp for fridgidair repair and Wimpys pulled up.  My problem was the connection to the ice maker on the back of the fridge was more leaking.  The gentleman that came out put shoe coverings on, as well as a mask.  This was very much appreciated as I just cleaned my floors the day before once I discovered the leak.  
After looking at the problem he said he couldn't help us, as we needed an appliance repair company.  If the leak had been where the water comes into the house he could have helped.  I appreciate his honesty and not charging us for his stop.  He was prompt, informative, polite and kind.  He gave us information on our water filtration system and we will use his services the next time we move and need a new system.

Prompt response but 30% higher in price than everyone else. So we ended up picking someone else. They did nothing wrong, just sharing my experience.

i called because my air conditioner stopped. I didn't think I would be able to get service within a few hours, especially as a new customer.

Upon hearing that I have cancer and was concerned about masking, the wom I spoke to switched the service person because one was getting over a cold.

I can't tell you how much that meant to me!

We've been having issues with water pressure at our home for months.  I called Wimpy's and made an appt for the following day.  Jesse came out, was very polite, wore shoes to protect our floors.  We explained what had been happening.  Within minutes, he located the problem, and corrected it.  The price was very reasonable.  We were very happy.  Wimpy's will be our go-to plumber in the future!

I had a great experience with the technician Ray from Wimpy's today. Although I didn't label this as an emergency, he arrived within less than 1/2 hour from my call.  He was professional, efficient, seemed knowledgeable and did a great job repairing a leaky shower.  He also checked on a problem with some electrical outlets and  provided advice regarding a few other issues. He did all of this for the initial stated price. It felt as if he went above and beyond to provide excellent  service.

They know what they're doing but I think their prices are a little high well I guess you get what you pay for, but the job is done the right way and clean

We chose Wimpy's for a new A/C based on positive reviews both on Yelp and Google and couldn't be happier. Professional, courteous, always in contact with us and fast. Price was comparable with others. It's never easy coughing up money for an A/C, but we're glad to have chosen Wimpy's.

Wimpy's offers Trane A/C units with a 10-year transferable  warranty so we know the product is great and we can transfer the warranty to the new homeowner once we're able to run away from the oppressive Florida heat.

Overpriced and untrustworthy. They will charge you $220 to do a plumbing inspection and all you get is a few sentences for a report and no photos, no video, no nothing. You have to pay $475 to get the video, which is insane. So, of course the report is going to be bad if you don't pay for the proof. according to Wimpy's, the plumbing was completely trashed and I'd have to pay a huge amount for repairs. I had another plumber come out and, not surprisingly, the situation wasn't so dire. They also charged a lot less than Wimpy's AND I got a video. Not good business, Wimpy's.

Best company I have ever had the honor and pleasure of working with.  Excellent customer service, very professional and loyal.  They redid our entire plumbing system and we have nothing but nice things to say.  Thanks Lori, Jesse, Evan, Bubba and rest of the Whimpys family.  I would give 6 stars if I could, fair on pricing as well.

Well they came out on time..  When I called to ask how much the new
water heater cost they would not tell me....The bill was 1,280 to install
a new one.  Looked up the average price of a water heater and it
was from 250 to 400 bucks...Guy installed it under 2 hours.  so I
figure 880 in labor...Wow that is about 440 per hour.  I would say
that is a great salary.  I am out of town, and helpless when my
grand daughter called to say no hot water on a 8 year old tank.

We had a problem with our tub drain,  after trying to clear the drain ourselves, we contacted a plumbing company that advertised $99.00 to clear any drain.  We were told they were not able to clear the drain because we needed a new trap. They gave us an estimate of $2000.00 to replace the tap after already collecting the $99.00.   I called Wimpys, Evan showed up within 3 hours and had the drained cleared within 1 hour.  The drain runs better than ever.  From now on, our first call will be to Wimpys. Thank you

A young tech came out and pretended to be looking for the problem and making phone calls. After the hour was up he tells me it's a wire outside the unit and he has to charge 300 dollars because it took more than an hour. I won't recommend this company to anyone.

I called Wimpy's for a leaking A/C unit that was causing a lot of water damage. They were able to come out the next day. James arrived on time and fixed the unit within a short period of time. He was very professional and friendly. I would definitely use them again.

Avoid Wimpy's. It's that simple. Just over 18 months ago they installed a water heater in our home. The installer broke the existing drain pan at the time, but quipped don't worry, with this water heater, you won't need it anyway. Well, 18 months later the heater is leaking into the heater's electronics. I called today to get a replacement installed. I figured that since the original Rheem heater has a 6 year warranty, that the replacement would be at no charge - or at maybe a nominal fee. But Wimpy's wants the astronomical amount of $700 for the installation of a new water heater that comes free to them from Rheem because of the warranty -- and this is a discount from the $1200 price because we're such good customers who have spent more than $20,000 on HVAC and plumbing over the last 2 years. They sold me a lemon for $1500 about 18 months ago and now want another $700 for a couple hours of work to install a replacement. I'm dumbfounded at the greed. Does any contractor stand behind their products and service any longer? Is there an honest contractor left in Florida?  I haven't found many. I asked why they won't stand behind their products... Why does a warranty replacement cost so much. Jesse (a manager?) gave me some BS answer that you'd get from all of the least reputable contractors in Florida. Basically, they sell you crap and hope that you'll keep paying over the short life of the product. I've been in Florida for 22 years and have heard most of the excuses for bad workmanship and service. I won't throw good money after bad. I'll try to find another plumber who can install a quality product. You should too.

We are very pleased with Wimpy's They scheduled us very quickly took care of the problem, we're very professional and reasonable on the price. I would recommend everyone to use them. They have always taken good care of us. One suggestion is they get an emergency response on the weekends in case we have a plumbing problem or get flooded.

Had a major backup late last night in our main pipe that caused one of our toilets and our kitchen sink to back up and overflow...BAD...while running the dishwasher.  Total mess.

I called 5 plumbers...got 3 answering services who said they couldn't get anyone out until the following day, while another one said a tech would call me as soon as available...which never happened.  

But when I called Wimpy's, a very nice gentleman named Mike answered, (who i later found out was the owner), and said he was en route to a job but would be able to get to out here within 1-2 hours, and would call when en route.  In 45 min, he called and said he finished that call and was 30 min away.  He arrived, asked me some probing questions, and got to work from the outside of the house.  I watched his work (out of curiosity as I'd never seen this done before), and within 30-40 min, he was done and the drain was clear with water flowing freely.  

Mike was a true professional...courteous, on time, professional.  I would recommend Wimpy's all day long.  I was so happy with the service that I actually called him after he left to see if they installed hot water heaters (which he said they do) because I need a new one, and am going to schedule an estimate next week.

I can't say enough about Cory who came to give an estimate on fixing issues with water hammer that has happened after a poor job previously done by another company when repiping our whole house.  He was knowledgeable and efficient in recommending what could be done.  I wish we had discovered Wimpy's prior to spending $18K with the other company because we learned there were many failures with that job and fortunately Wimpy's (Cory) will be able to address some of them.

These guys are the best. Back in October we had to have our whole house replumbed including sewage due to old cast iron pipes. They explained things so we understood the issues and what needed to happen, they were punctual, professional, kept our house clean despite massive digging due to our concrete foundation, and left things in a great condition. They were the best quote we got and were by far the most trustworthy and reliable.

We've called a few times since then for AC issues and a small toilet issue this week and they came out quickly and our warranty covered the issue.

We highly recommend Wimpy's for all of your plumbing and AC services. Seriously don't call anyone else, you won't find a better company.

Austin came out to do a routine maintenance check and spend hours going over everything. At one point he asked, Did you install a new thermostat recently? I told him, Yes, your guys did it. He walked outside for a phone call and returned. He then admitted that the thermostat was improperly  installed causing the a/c and heater to run simultaneously.  Now our FPL bill had increased by almost 300% each month since that installation but we never associated the two. Calling FPL about the dramatic increase only brought excuses like, It's your faulty pool pump, rate increases, high temperatures, blah, blah, blah. Austin's phone call, I'm sure, was to his boss.
He told me the tech screwed up. Gather together you FPL bills from the month of the install forward, and we will reimburse you for the difference between last years monthly bills and this year. They even requested a copy of the charge per unit of electricity from last year so they could allow for any for increase per unit. They cut us a check for over $1000 dollars.
Now they could have easily hidden this mistake, but chose to take the high road and make it right. Now you show me a company with this amount of honesty and integrity, and they have my business for life, just like Wimpy's has my business for life.

I called Wimpy's to repair our AC and they were here the same day. The technician was professional, thorough and the cost of the repair was very reasonable.

I will recommend them to friends.

We just had all of our old systems replaced and couldn't be happier with the results. True professionals and great employees. Quality work, really easy to work with, showed up on time, and left everything neat as a pin each evening. I would give them a 10 if I could.

These guys were on time 2 days in a row at two separate properties.  Clean cut and polite gentleman named Mike quickly discovered both problems and made the necessary repairs.  He very thoroughly cleaned up the area when finished and presented me with a legible and fair bill.  I will use Wimpy's again for sure!

They charged $75 just to drive out to my residence, and then quoted me over $2,000 to repair a leaky bathtub faucet and re-build two toilets and change a cartridge in another bathroom. Maybe these are the going rates for plumbers, but that's just plain crazy to me!! If you call them, bust our your wallet because you'll need it.

Prompt, personable, and professional. Ray did an excellent job. He worked quickly and well. I got the work I needed done at a reasonable price, and enjoyed chatting with Ray as he quickly installed a new disposal. Couldn't be happier with Wimpy's.

Used these guys once for a plumbing issue and was so impressed that I had them put in a new AC system.  Two guys came out, took down the old system, installed the new system and were gone that afternoon. They made a special point of double checking the installation and sealing the ductwork. their price was good; not the cheap, but in line with other Hvac  companies. Based on my two experiences, I wouldn't think twice about bringing them back, and I heartily recommend them.

We've had several wonderful experiences with Wimpy's: everything from installing a dishwasher to fixing some minor plumbing issues around the house. Every time I call, Lori has been so nice, and Mike has always been cheerful, efficient, on-time, and charged us a fair price. When I called this morning about not getting water into the house from our well, Lori commiserated and scheduled me in even though they already had a full day. And even better, she called a short while later to let me know that Bubba could come over even earlier. Here's the best part: the problem turned out to be electrical, not plumbing, but did that stop him? Nope! Where other plumbers would have said not my problem, Bubba worked his magic and fixed it. Both he and Mike are also so great at explaining what they're doing and why, never assuming anything that could lead to redoing work later on. I learn a lot about plumbing each time. If you want a plumber you can trust, give Wimpy's a call. We won't use anyone else!
