This morning I noticed a water leak in one of my lights. I called roto-rooter and scheduled a service technician to come repair the leak. Upon arrival, he asked me what the problem was and once I told him, he became very agitated and rudely informed me that ill have to get someone else to come out to take a look at it while walking back to the door. This left me very confused, so I asked him if there was a problem. He replied that the dogs were his problem. There were no dogs in the house. I informed him that my two dogs were at my parents house. His response: it smells like dogs in here, you dont smell that?

I keep a very tidy home, and regularly wash the floors and vacuum the carpet to ensure my house is a plesent environment for all who enter. My dogs are house trained, and bathed regularly. Everyone who has pets knows that at times there can be a slight aroma of dogs, however, my house is not one where there is a strong odor of a dirty dog, or dog pee. The behavior in which this technician treated me was belittling and beyond rude. If this man had a strong dog allergy, he could have informed me of that and I would have completely understood. However, that was not the case.

As he stormed out of my house, I asked him if he planned to send another technician out to repair the leak. He didn't provide any answers and just left without giving me any instructions on next steps.

I have owned my home for several years, and have never once encountered a repair technician who treated me so poorly. I've also never had anyone tell me that my house smelled like dogs. It is extremely disappointing to call a company for an emergency repair, only to have someone show up who doesn't even attempt to solve the problem or give an alternate solution if they can't help. And, on top of being unhelpful, being disrespectful to a homeowner is simply bad business.

There are many choices in the area when it comes to water leak repairs, and I know I'll never spend my money at roto-rooter.

Crooks!  We called for a plumber due to a water leak but they instead sent someone out to put fans in my house which is not what I requested.  The salesman assured me insurance would pay for it but they did not.  We received a bill for $4,500!!   Joshua Martinez eventually came to the house to look around for himself to verify the damage wasn't nearly the way it was described in their paperwork. Joshua never followed up like he said he would and simply documented that I wasn't going to pay anything. The techs even told me they installed the fans wrong when they returned a few days later which caused more charges. Very unethical company that tried to place a lien on my house for services I did not request.  FYI the plumber never showed up. STAY AWAY!!!!

They scanned my lines and created a video. I was told to just call the office and they would send it to me. I've tried for four months to get someone on the phone, left endless messages with my request and nothing. Game players who just do not care.

Had a Pipe leak in my walls. Roto-Rooter fixed the issue but had an issue with communication and left lots of damage.

After the mold mitigation was completed I didn't hear from anyone after that for a week or two. After a few weeks the tech that had visited texted me late one Saturday and said Hey, you're on the schedule for tomorrow morning to start the drywall removal. Not asking if I'm free, told me I was scheduled. I told him I hadn't heard from my insurance company. He never responded to my text. No one came the next day, on Sunday. My Insurance said they hadn't before but they agreed to once I called since there was still actively mold in my bedroom. I texted the tech and told him they had approved the work and asked when they would want to come start. He said Ok and that was the last time I heard from him.

The next day I got a text from my roommates at 2PM (While I was at work) that 3 Roto-Rooter employees were at the house with trucks asking to access my bathroom. No one confirmed a time/date beforehand or called me when they were on the way. They just showed up expecting to work. I had to leave work immediately to go home in order to meet them. Unfortunately, my roommates let them into my room to begin work when I was on my way home. The Roto-Rooter techs said that they would need to remove all of the bottom section of my whole closet, not just the one wall the pipe was leaking in and that all my personal items that were pushed to the side needed to be moved. They moved all my personal belongings from my closet without my permission, instead of waiting 20 minutes for me to get home. These items included all of my clothes, 2 guns handed down to me from my grandfather, three 8-foot delicate model swords, and many other personal items. When I got home I found all of my stuff from my closet in my living room. One of my swords is broken now and was $300. My whole bathroom was sealed off with sheeted plastic. Since I wasn't home when they started, I was not able to access anything that was in my bathroom. All of my toiletries were walled off by plastic and I had to go to Walmart late that night and buy a whole new set of items because I was not home before they started.

The next day 2 more employees showed up (Again, without calling or texting beforehand). When they brought fans into my home, they used the garage door and brought them in through the kitchen. They were not careful in the process and they caused 2 huge scratches in my stainless steel refrigerator and multiple small scuffs on the wall before my closet. They were gone before I got home from work.

After this visit I asked the employees to please at least text me when they are on their way over so I could make sure I was home from work (I had asked multiple times before but was stern about making a point that it needed to be done before they show up from here on out). They said they would try. They texted me about 1/3 the time before showing up. One time an employee texted me at 10:30PM asking if he could come that night and check on my closet. Another day 2 techs showed up Sunday morning at 10AM without asking beforehand expecting  to work on the job site aka my bathroom.

Upon the equipment removal I found that the techs used a staple gun in my ceiling to secure the plastic tarp. They only yanked the plastic down, and as such there are still staples all over the ceiling in my bathroom and closet. They also used painters tape as well as staples, and when they yanked the plastic down it ripped out portions of the popcorn ceiling.

Roto-Rooter indicated that they would reduce my overall invoice by just under $300.00 to help reimburse me for the damages they had left me. It is now over a month after they have been paid and they have no intention of following through on their word. Overall mediocre repair/restoration, almost no communication or common sense in respecting a homeowner with scheduling. Intentionally will mislead with what they promise and not follow up or quality of care once they're paid. Avoid at all costs.

Terrible experience with this company and their awful account managers. The internal communication is awful, and the team messed up my excavation. They wanted to start work at 2-3pm everyday and work until the evening which isn't allowed with HOA. Everything with them was a fight. The account manager Jeff was absolutely unbearable to work with. Call any one else but Roto in the Central Florida area.

Contacted Roto-Rooter due to possible pipe break and they sent a tech out.  When the tech came out, he had no way of looking at my pipes since he didn't have a camera.  He contacted a co-worker and said he would be out between 330-530PM if that is OK, said that was fine.  Never showed up, so I called and the rep. was just rude.  She didn't apologize and said she couldn't do anything that day.  Didn't call until the following afternoon to try to re-reschedule.  Thank goodness, someone had already come out and fixed our problem as they truly don't care.

Scammed me for almost 400. When the tech arrived and quoted me 400 to look inside and see if there was a block I declined because the septic company said it sounded like I needed to pump and they were on the way. The tech insisted he would look for FREE since he was already there. He said if they septic is the issue they won't charge me anything, he's just doing a favor. Huge lie. He ended up charging me 400 telling me there was actually a block he cleared. It wasn't true. The septic guy got there and showed me how full it was and why my plumbing was backing up. The roto rooter guy told me it was going to be refunded if the issue was septic. It wasn't. They are avoiding my calls and not returning emails.

This review was only for an estimate i received today on my water heater in the Lake Nona, FL area. I received an estimate from Pedro at 3pm, Monday Dec. 6th, 2021. It was a terrible estimate. I had presented the issue, that I wanted a tank water heater replaced with a tankless, electric 27KW water heater. The Tank water heater was on it's last leg and needed to be replaced after 11 years of service.

In a professional manner, Pedro insinuated that I was brainless human being that knew nothing about water heaters, and he happened to show up to save the day (this was his demeanor). He was an extremely condescending technician with a bad attitude. Who the heck put the idea in your head to get a tankless, electric water heater? Do you realize that you are going to be paying about $4,500 just in installation alone to get the right equipment and plumbing in your walls to support a tankless electric water heater, and then you will not be satisfied anyway. (I knew both of these things were false, as i have relatives in Minnesota running a 27KW tankless electric water heater in a large home. Albeit, they get much less use out of it than i would in Florida). My uncle also owns an AC/Plumbing company, and he is the person that actually recommended the model of Tankless water heater.

I proceeded to let him finish, as he recommended a very expensive model of a hybrid water heater. I was very much done, and just let him finish before i waived him off. There were other indecencies stated by Pedro, but I will not go there, this review is long enough.  If these are the type of employees that are working at Roto-Rooter, i would not be going with this company. I did not have a service done, and i cannot comment on it. However with the knowledge that i knew, receiving an estimate as horrid as the one above, would you be getting your service performed through Roto-Rooter? Think twice on this one.

Thanks,

Called, 12-4 arrival time. Guy came looked at the leak, could not find it, he said we need a leak detector. Agreed to price. Nothing was available that day so agreed for tomorrow. Called the next day asked when the guy will arrive. NO RECORD OF A REQUEST FOR A GUY TO COME OVER.  The company is a joke.

If you are looking for great service, then Roto Rooter is the company to call.  The plumbing in our house backed up on Sunday.   Called Roto Rooter based on their website stating that there was no extra charge for evening and weekend service calls.

Pro's:

1.  Great customer service.  The phone representative was very friendly and courteous and gave us a four hour window for the plumber to arrive.  Within 30 minutes we received a call to let us know the plumber was on his way.

2.  Plumber was very professional and courteous as well.  Gave us a quote and got right to work.    Got the job done and our plumbing is back in working order.   Was told we have a six month warranty on the work - they will come back if you have any problems during that time period.

3.  Received a follow up phone call regarding the service we received.

Things to note:

1. Roto Rooter does not allow their plumbers to go on the roof to snake out your system.  (Understandable for liability reasons, but wish we would have known this ahead of time).
Instead the plumber had to remove one of our toilets and snake out the system that way.  If you remove and replace the toilet yourself it saves you $80.00.

2.  No quotes given over the phone.  It is reasonable to say that the plumber doesn't know what he is dealing with until he gets to your house, but some kind of guestimate would be nice so you know what to expect.  We paid $440.00 to have our system cleaned out.

Bottom line:  Great customer service, but if cost is an issue you may want to shop around.

Larry (3359) augured out my main drain on and fixed the problem in 30 minutes. He was nice and professional however I wish I had inquired about cost first. I had scheduled the visit so it was not an emergency.  I should have spent more time researching. Hopefully this will help someone else. I paid $315 (with a $60 off coupon) which as I have learned... is CRAZY!

Be aware!!
A dominican  guy called Pedro came to my house  in November 2018 as free estimated service and what he did was to shut off the water and see a hole from my under insulation to see how water was coming out. Then he said I will write a bill for the insurance for $299 if you guys decide to work  with us I will deduct that amount from the hole bill, which by the way was an excessive and abuse price. We decide not to do it because the criminal price and now after almost a year we are getting calls from them and email trying to collect the $299.

I found on the web a person who used to work with them and describe them as abusive and illegal tactics to charge people.

I just moved into a home that was supposedly rehabed with new plumbing, but the master shower's drain was clogged.  I tried to remedy this myself by throwing a whole bottle of liquid plumber down the drain.  When that didn't work and I tried to unsuccessfully snake the drain, I gave in and called Roto-Rooter of the Orlando area.  The plumber was on time, very professional and spent close to an hour clearing the stubborn drain.  It was full of this rocky sand debris for some reason.  He mentioned that the shower plumbing was less than ideal and explained the way my drain was piped, which was good to know.  He also took the time to show me the access point to my main drain outside, in case I ever needed to know in the future.  They are a bit pricey (as are a lot of plumbers though), but they offer coupons on their website to help soften the blow.  Overall, I was happy with the service and would consider using them again.

Very poor experience. Called 2 weeks ago for backed up toilet. I was 38 weeks pregnant and just wanted my toilet fixed. Technician was very nice, said pipe was clogged, snaked it, charged me $475 and left. I was more worried about the fix than the money. I would not be complaining about the $450 if my issue was solved. However, two weeks later, 1 day old baby in hand, I go slipping down the same hallway. My exact same clog issue is back! Water is everywhere. I call them back. New technician comes out. Says there is no clog, I need two new sump pumps for $3k. Called a septic company to look at pumps, all are working just fine, no sump pump replacement needed. He showed me all working pumps. Called Roto back to look at the same drain they said they snaked. Technician says he can snake it again for another $550. Same drain, two weeks later. This is the kind of service you can expect from Roto. So now I get to have a newborn with a nice leak until I can get a reliable plumber out here to repair. Considering legal action for the original payment but it's less about the money and more about the fact that I thought I was working with an honest business that would be able to fix a simple clog. I request avoiding this company

Omg....first they gave me a window of 7:30pm-11:30pm that they would show...at 12:30am I had to call them to find out what happened. The operator said the technician must have gotten tied up on a job. We can have someone there between 1am and 5am. No way was I falling for that trick again. So 8am the next day was set up...no window ..just a real appointment time. So at 9:30 the tech finally shows. He was great and the only reason for 2 stars. Took him 15 mins and $305 dollars later my toilet flushed. I think I'm going to leave my physical therapy job and go to lumbering school!

Pete was extremely helpful at helping us to unclog our toilet and tub after the Christmas break!  We had family over and after they left, the toilet was so clogged that it ran into the tub.  He was here for a couple hours and helped drained our pipe, showed us where to look next time, and help to clean up the water.  It was a nice interaction and solution after all of the chaos.

After a sewer pipe unclogging, Roto Rooter rep determined I had a bellied sewer line. He provided me a proposal that was reviewed and approved which I then accepted and signed. Later that same day I called, scheduled and provided debit card info for half the total. Five days later another rep called me. He told me that previous rep is no longer with their company and the signed proposal is not good. If I still want to have the work done, it would be double the amount previously quoted. The amount I arranged to pay was not processed as arranged. Roto Rooter just dropped out of a signed contract without me signing off on it as specified in their contract.

When the technician arrived to repair a broken reclaimed water line at our Ocoee, FL Westyn Bay home, he quoted $285 to start.  That sounded high, however, with water continuing to go everywhere, and someone there to fix it immediately, I went for it.  Sadly what started out at what I thought was too much - ended up costing in the stratosphere - $990 - to fix a broken reclaimed water pipe!!!.  Not only that, the technician had to go back and forth to Home Depot and Lowes for parts.  He said he wasn't going to charge me for those trips.  Really???  The technician seemed to be baffled on how to repair a reclaimed water line, which appeared to be similar to PVC.  I should have called a sprinkler repair company, probably could have had it done for under $200.  Bottom line, I'm not confident that the repair will hold even though the tech emphasized a few times that the repair has a one year warranty.  That emphasis alone was cause for concern. I'm just blown away at how badly I was taken for.  It's a good thing I am a person of means.  If I were elderly on a fixed income, this kind of expense would be devastating.  I will never use RotoRooter again and I will tell people to run as fast as they can from this company.  Unbelievably disappointed in cost and what seemed like incompetence.

Wish I could give zero stars. I never write reviews. Never. But I came to them for help with a broken toilet. Agreed to schedule days out. A few hours before they were supposed to come out they cancelled. Said their plumber was too busy. I get that exceptions happen but there wasn't so much as an apology. Not even an apology? I felt I was an inconvenience. Huh? I'm extremely low maintenance. All I want from anyone is the basics. But truth be told these guys failed at every step. I hope your experience is better if you choose these guys

Great and quick service. Mike did a great job and took good care of us. Always kept us inform of everything he was working on and made it easy enough for us to understand. The equipment he brought with him like the camera and screen gave us the most clear picture of what was wrong with out main line and to be honest I don't believe any other company could have done a better and more honest job!

Like most of all the other reviews, they were late.  I don't blame the technician - he was great and did the work quickly and efficiently. Either Roto-Rooter is overbooking or else they aren't allotting enough time for service calls.  I also experienced scheduling service only for it to be rescheduled for the next day because they were too busy and then that appointment was late.  If they are too busy for my business, maybe it's time to find someone else that DOES take their commitments seriously.

Extremely disappointed in this company. The way they work, employees, and everything involving them should be shut down immediately. I am currently filing a complaint with BBB. DO NOT use them under any circumstances. They will take advantage of you and rip you off!!

I called with a problem that after months of work and $7,000 wasn't even addressed. They have sales guys that prey on people. It's disgusting.

We had a garbage disposal/sink clog occur around 11 pm at night. We called and the agent told us it would be about 2 hrs, we received a call around 12:30 am letting us know the technician was held up and wouldn't be there until around 3 am, at 4 am we hadn't heard anything so we called.  They apologized, we set an appointment for the next morning and they gave us a 10% discount on laborious for the inconvenience.

The tech who arrived was friendly and fixed our clog.  It Aldo turned out our disposal was leaking (which I had informed him of the leak before) so he replaced that on the spot.  The service was good, but expensive.  If you have the time and patience to shop around, I would recommend doing so.  But tor the right now fix, we have had good experiences with roto-rooter.

WoW! Another great experience with this company. They are a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. We had a slab leak the day before July 4th. They sent someone out right away and he was able to verify that the leak was below the floor. Unfortunately, their leak detection expert that was on duty couldn't come out until the next day. Ceaser came out on July Fourth, no extra charge, and went to work to make sure of exactly where the leak was. It took him an hour or so but when they pulled up the tile and jack hammered through the slab, BAM, the leak was right there! Nice thing was the detection and the repair were pretty much a flat rate so we knew the relative cost up front, no suprises. His repair and patching back up the concrete were meticulous and he made sure we saw the work at each stage along the way. Definitely call these guys if you have need of plumbing services.

Update: as of 5/17/19 They sent out a guy named Ricardo. All i can say is why on earth didnt they send him out first. He was knowledgeable, professional, and understanding. He literally got the job fixed and done right and stayed a bit after to make sure it would hold. They need more Ricardos. This guy should honestly just go start his own business cause his abilities and knowledge surpassed the others.
Simply the worst experience ever. I have used them 3 other times before, but this time has been a nightmare. I had a managable small leak on a copper pipe that i called to have serviced. A literally brand new barely on the job guy shows up and after four hours still cant get the leak stopped. Yes the copper pipes are old, yes they need to be changed, but if you can't fix the small dripping leak then please just say so. He leaves it now is leaking into my drywall, Which it wasent before. So I call again. A new team of two come out spend roughly 4 more hours breaking holes, soldering, sweating, and dirtying the whole area. In the end can't do it. Say cant finish it need yet another plumber to come out and finish it in the morning. I ask can I atleast have water if not hot water, They say yes I will have access to cold water. But then tell me that the guy tomorrow will fix it, but no warranty and it will be as is. They make sure to tell me over and over it is not their fault if it leaks again. They leave and I try and salavge my one real day off of work, I start a load of laundry with cold water and was going to go shower. By chance I happened to go throw away a garbage bag in the garage, Thats when I opened the door and found a flooded garage. The pipe that they had left open, was just pouring water on top of the water heater and spilling down all over the floor. All my things in general are soaked on the bottom. I had to run out and turn off the water main. I'm now literally swamped in my garage with wet clothes in my wash and didn't get to shower. And I have a hole in my wall, that will probably get bigger, and no running water.

Easter Morning... probably one of the toughest days to have a house flood, other than Christmas Day. Well, that's exactly what happened. After our entire family showered Easter Morning, we noticed the shower stall and tub backing up and the hallway flooded from a blockage. We were expecting family to arrive for Easter Brunch at our house within a two hours, so we were very concerned as we were hosting.

I called Roto-Rooter and they dispatched a technician who arrived in about one hour. He quickly assessed the problem and removed the blockage. He was finishing up when our guests arrived, so we were very pleased with every aspect and timeliness of the service -- especially on a holiday.

Great service. Professional technician. Highly recommend.

Few weeks ago, I called to have a technician come and fix our toilet as it was clogged and water didn't go through well at all. The technician came, looked for a sec and brought the snake to clear it. Charged $145 for a few min work and left. Few days after I called again and said the problem was not solved and they sent a technician again. He looked and said there is nothing to do and the only thing is to replace the toilet, which cost a lot. I was very upset from that and few weeks after, on Feb 17th, I called another plumbing company and when technician came, it only took him few min to understand what is the problem, which was the hole in the bottom of the sink, where the jets are, were clogged by a plastic object. The plumber was amazed by how they didn't see it and charged me for nothing. He said they should have refunded me for their misdiagnosed. This is the second time I have such a bad experience with them and will consider taking it to small claims to get our money back. Very disappointing!!!!!
Still going on issue. I was promised to get a refund but nothing, so I'm starting a small claim with my attorney and will take it to court for all the troubles they have caused me. Do not use roto rooter ever, or you'll get screwed for your money

I called Roto-Rooter late this afternoon when my kitchen sink backed up.  The dispatcher was cordial and gave an appointment time within an hour an a half and let me know plumber would call a half-hour before coming.  WOW!  Late Saturday afternoon and the plumber called less than an hour later and was at our home as promised.  He quickly assessed the problem and quoted the price to clear the drain.  Plumbers are expensive -- because they are worth it!  And a really good plumber is REALLY REALLY worth every penny!  Our service was provided by Larry #3359.  He was knowledgeable, experienced and treated us and our home with respect.  He resolved the problem quickly  We are completely satisfied.  I will use Roto-Rooter for ALL future plumbing needs, not just clogged drains.  It's a relief to know a Roto-Rooter plumber is just a phone call away and that they have courteous, well trained, knowledgeable, professional employees like Larry #3359 that get the job done thoroughly the first time -- and even clean up when the job is complete.  Thank you Roto-Rooter for being such a reliable service provider and for hiring excellent employees like Larry #3359!

We had been having a problem with water backing up in our kitchen sink.  As soon as we called Roto-Rooter they dispatched a technician to our house and they were there within an hour.  The two servicemen that came were friendly, knowledgeable and quick to resolve the problem.  They even gave us a six-month warranty.  Excellent service!

If I could give them zero, I would. They are quick to come out and quick to have you sign estimates, pay deposits, etc. but once we were able to get additional estimates that came in at half their estimate, getting a refund from them of the deposit has been a nightmare. Constant excuses then when they run out of excuses, they just start ignoring you...all while keeping a $7,000 deposit. Horrible company especially the local Orlando branch. The branch manager doesn't return calls or emails. Had to get corporate involved. Go ANYWHERE else, but don't call Roto Rooter!

I called them at 6pm for a clogged garbage disposal; the assured me they would have someone to my house by 10:30pm.  Along comes around 10:30, no one has shown up.  I call, they said their technicians were all busy.  My house now stinks of food and I am very disappointed.

Stay away from this business all the way. I made the mistake of hiring their services to unclog my kitchen drain, and they charged me $397.00 for this job. Totally my fault for not to look other estimates, but the necessity to get the drain unclog, made me move with their service. I later find out (you can google the prices) that this is a job in the $150 .00 to $250.00 price range. When I inquired about this, their answer was that they are not a mom and pop plumbers, that they are a corporate. They offered $75.00 dollars discount which I also noticed it was the special running at that week, but never mentioned to me before hand. Still $322.00 to unclog a drain is overpriced. DO NOT go with them, instated, do some research first. I'll post this review in all other sites so hopefully more ppl is aware.

DO NOT USE!  They came over to my home for a leak in my copper pipe.  Estimate was for 1,200.00.  Then the water restoration division of the company came over and said if I use them for the water restoration they will drop the plumbing cost to 800.00.  I had already sent the estimate into my insurance company for 1,200.00 plumbing cost.  Roto-Rooter said not to mention the reduction in the plumbing cost as I could pocket the rest of the money.  My insurance adjuster needed the breakdown of the exact cost of the plumbing.  When I called Roto-Rooter back and told them what was needed, they said they would have Ricardo send it to me in an e-mail.  I ASKED FOR THIS INFORMATION 4 TIMES!  NEVER RECEIVED AN UPDATED INVOICE.  THEY ARE CROOKS!

I used Roto-rooter plumbers today (7/20/17) for the first time. Would have given a 5 star review except that there were some issues at first when the first person they sent out said that he wasn't the right person to do the job so I had to wait another day to get the bathroom fixed. Other than that, super happy with the service. They sent the team leader out today to take care of a backed up urinal/toilet at my restaurant and he was great! Spent lots of time explaining things to me, was super professional, and cleaned up after himself. Would definitely use them again!

I received a call from them the same day I left a review and they seemed genuinely concerned over my situation. 3 stars is for exceptional customer service. I still ended up finding another local plumber, he charged me $100 for replace the heating elements in the water heater. To earn a 5 star I would suggest a more reasonable diagnostic price.

I had a plumbing issue at one of my rentals and decided to try someone new since it has really good Google reviews. Making an appointment was super easy with their operator, their technician showed up one hour late which was no big deal, Danny the technician called me to describe what was going on at the property, something is clogged and he wants to put a snake in the toilet. So first of all I am not inexperienced when it comes to house repairs, what he offered is a temporarily solution that might or might not work, and he quoted me $450 for snaking the toilet and putting a camera down there! When I expressed disbelief in this ridiculousness, he offered coupons and brought it down to $250.

You gotta be kidding me! First of all I can snake the toilet myself! Secondly what he did just showed me how dishonest this company is, quoting an inflated price just to see how customers react to it then bring it down as they see it fit.

There is no free estimate, they roll it up in the final quote. And when I asked him if it's still the same price if I want it done next day, he said different people can have different prices....is this company outsourcing everything to independent subcontractors? Anyway, I am not here to figure that out. Bottom line is: DO NOT TRUST them!

I hired another company Frank Gay plumbing and they were able to get it done for $160 and did more than just snaking the toilet,  they flushed out the entire system.

The service was top notch from the phone call to the arrival of the technician to the performance of the service.  This was an emergency call after hours and the technician (Kareem D.) arrived at my house within 30 minutes.  The work was completed within the hour!! The cost was very reasonable and I was even able to use a coupon.  I highly recommend Roto-Rooter.

I had a drain snaked and a ($40) shower valve replaced for $554. The technician damaged my wall on the way out. Over charged every step of the way. I should have researched ahead of time. Competitor price for snaking the drain $100 and valve replacement with parts and labor $100 for $200 combined. Nothing like paying 2 1/2 times of what everyone else charges. Same review left at the better business bureau.

We experienced a sewage backup on Monday evening while doing laundry, water was backing up into the tub and shower and neither of the toilets would flush.  I called Roto-Rooter emergency services at 7pm and was told a plumber would arrive between 8 and 10pm.  The plumber, Noel, arrived at our house around 9pm, and after explaining the problem I informed him the clean-out for the house is actually buried and he would have to dig a 2 foot hole to get to it.  The look on his face clearly showed that he did not want to have to dig, and quoted me about $300.  He did dig the hole, but because it was dark he could not locate the pipe and said he would have to run the snake through the toilet, which would cost an additional $100.  He ran the snake machine through the toilet like he said he would, however he could not clear the line completely.  He ended up charging me $320 without the problem being fixed, with a promise that he would make an appointment for the camera specialist to come the next day to see why the line could not be completely cleared and said that I would be called.  By noon the next day I had not received a call about the day's appointment, so I took it upon myself to see when someone might show up, only to find out an appointment had not been made at all.  Noel's attitude and demeanor spoke louder than words that he did not want to help our situation and that he would rather be anywhere else, so much so that he didn't even bother to schedule an appointment for the other specialist to help us the next day.  I can't say that he didn't do anything at all but hind sight, I should have never paid him for his services, since the situation was not fixed when he left and he did nothing to follow up.  At this point I feel I have an investment in the work that was already done, so I will use this company for this issue, but I'm not sure they would be my first choice in the future.

Lately I have abstained from writing one star reviews.  I have had a few experiences with various companies that have merited them, but in the best interest of Karma I have not done so.

Until I noticed something last night that made it important for me to make sure you know what you are getting into with Roto-Rooter.  Now, I know that it is an umbrella that hires independent contractors, but this experience was bad on all accounts including the call center which is the company itself.

Let me start... Monday June 17, after my husband took his morning shower for work, I was doing laundry and he came in to ask if I had noticed the water flooding out of the 2nd bathroom.  I had not and realized that the bathroom and dining room were 1 of sewage.  After spending over 2 hours cleaning this up, I ran to ACE in hopes that it was just a clog (wishful thinking).   I spent the morning trying to fix this and had called a plumber, got his direct VM and who was not calling back.

At 2PM I finally called this company and was told someone would be out by or before 4:30.  My daughter and I had been going to the 7Eleven down the street to the bathroom since ours were out of service.  So the time frame worked for me, I finally would get someone out and fix this problem.

By 5:00 no one had arrived, and no one had called (I had been told I would get a phone call 1/2 hour before arrival).  I called RR and was on hold for over ten minutes (I know because my cell phone has a counter) and had to listen to the god awful song and RR commercial the whole time.  Someone told me they would check, that they were independent contractors, etc.  Finally I was told that by 6:30 he would be there because of a backup.  Fine.  I understand these things can be complicated.

6:30, no call, no plumber, a frustrated child who was tired of having to go to 7Eleven.  A frustrated me that couldn't understand the lack of follow through.   I call again.  I get put on hold for another 10 minutes and finally am told that he would be there between 7:30 and 8PM!!!!!! This is a full THREE hours after the original 4:30 time!!  I had at this point NO OTHER option and was quite angry because if I had been told this from the beginning I would have JUST GONE OUT for the afternoon.  If someone had bothered to call me to inform me of the delays, it would have given me the opportunity to figure out something and would have been good follow through.

He arrived at 7:45.  I was beaten down at this point, showed him the problem and then we spent the next hour trying to find the clean out or whatever you call it.  I just moved into this house a week prior, there are overgrown plants everywhere, so finally we found something by the A/C unit which is behind a wooden fence.

It wasn't the right one.  It was drizzling, we came in and let him finish.  Finally he said he managed to get it done, proceeded to show us the tool full of roots and told us that he couldn't give us any warranty b/c it was roots and not just a blockage, and tried to set up a time for his buddy with a camera to come (for about $400) and show us that the pipes were completely damaged and needed to be replaced. Uh, no thank you, we will figure it out.

My hubby noticed outside that the pipes to the outdoor sink had been broken by him.  The RR guy told us to get the parts and he would fix it for free.  What??  WTF? HE BROKE THEM.  By now it is 10:45, we are exhausted, fine, we will get the parts w/e.  So I ask about helping prevent root growth (the guy at ACE had shown me a product that helps eliminate it from happening again $12.95).  RR guy said he left me a jug of something already.  I was thinking he was so kind until I saw the $50 something charge on the bill for it!!

So yesterday we go into the A/C unit and noticed something that blew our mind.  To fix the problem he had cut open some pipes in that area there, AND LEFT THEM LIKE THAT. Does this compute?  He severed my pipes and left them open to the elements!!   Then he charged us $400?  Aside from ruining my outdoor sink?  RR has no quality control over their independent servicemen.  This is beyond reprehensible.

Super late, no follow through, damaged our pipes and sink, overcharged for some liquid root killer.

Bad Business all around.

I would give zero but not an option. I have a active slab leak so I called rotor rooter. They sent a leak tech out he  found the leak and a while later another tech came out and dug a hole in my bathroom floor and nope no leak. The next day another leak detector guy came out and marked another spot the guy came out dug another hole and no leak the next day they brought in a third party from another plumbing company and he marked a third area. Then they decided well you should re-pipe. Okay I spent $499 for the leak detection and then $2600 for them to fix it then they said well the re-pipe will be another $1500 WHAT ARE YOU KIDDING ME. They got it down to an additional $500 and then the guy said ok they will be here at 7am (on day 4 mind you of no water) well that guy never showed up so made the phone call and they said well before he can start you need to have a asbestos test done. Well no body ever called to tell us that. They are a shady company and the guys in the trucks throw random numbers at you thinking you will jump. Well not this house. After several phone calls for a few hours I did receive a full refund for services not rendered. And now I have a huge mess in my bath room I have to repair

I used to love Roto-Rooter now I am never calling them again. My mother called them to fix a leaking faucet and a stopped up kitchen sink. They set the appointment up for between noon and 4 and did not arrive until 4:30. He then proceeds to tell her that the pipes are too old for him to work on and they would need to replace all the pipes under the sink. My mother agrees to get an estimate from him on doing that. While he's out at the truck another plumer from roto rooter calls and tell her that they have a more experienced plumer who has worked on older homes and they would rather he came out and looked at it. She says yes and they set that appointment up for the following(12-5-2016) Monday from 10-noon. That Monday gets here and he never shows up. She calls and is told he is running late. She waits another hour and calls back to be told that he can't make it at all that day and they need to reschedule for another day. She cancels the entire appointment. I am very disapointed in them and am in the process of helping her find someone to do the repairs.

Called for advertised 24 hour service and spoke to call center. I was told that some one would get back to me. No one gave me the courtesy of a return phone call.  After my third attempt, 3 hours later, I called another company.  When I called the next day to speak to a manager, he was unapologetic and asked if I just called to complain.  I've used this company in the past and was satisfied, but I will never call them again.

CONSUMER BEWARE!!! Run from Roto Rooter, this company tried to fraud me because I am an out of state landlord.  I called and scheduled an appointment due to the bathroom at a rental property not functioning properly.  One tech went out and addressed the issue, he then called his manager to come out and that is where the trickery started.  Steven Santiago advised that he would send me a video that I never received of the clogged septic lane, the work was performed for a whopping $2901.00.  He then contacted my tenants the following day under the guise that he did not have my phone number.  The main office and the original tech had my number so not sure why Steven did not have it other than to try and scam me. Steven proceeded to tell my tenants that he discovered a broken pipe, he then proceeded to call me and tell me the exact same thing and that it would cost me $4700, to make the repair and that my tenants were having to go to the bathroom at the local gas station that same day because they were still having problems.  One of my tenants alerted me via text that everything was working fine which gave me pause.  I told Steven, I needed to contact my trusted contractor to look at the situation and that I was not paying the $4700.  He called me back 5 minutes later and advised that he called his Manager and the price was reduced to $2500, I said no.  My trusted contractor made a visit the following day and said there was no broken pipe and everything looked fine.  Additionally, my tenant who Steven contacted said she and her roommates did not go to the gas station to use the bathroom on the date Steven indicated, so he flat out lied and tried to trick me into paying him $4700.  I called Rotor Rooter Manager, Michael, McCulsky and left a message to report this issue, he never responded to 3 messages.  Additionally, I left three messages for the GM, Randy Mills and he never responded to my call.
This behavior is plain criminal and I will never use this service again and advise anyone out there to NEVER trust Roto Rooter, they are thieves and pray on customers.

I cannot express how THANKFUL we are to Mr. Tom Burke. My dilemma started six months ago, I hired three plumbers and wasted thousands of dollars trying to repair my daughter's bathroom and every time was a different story.  As a single mother, I felt hopeless and that everyone was taking advantage of me. Until one day, I prayed to God to please send me someone honest who can fix my never ending problem. I was waiting for another plumber to come but at the last minute, he canceled the appointment stating that maybe the next day he will come to fix it. At that point I had enough of the abuse from those people and decided to take control and hire someone from Google search. The first business I found was Roto-Rooter. I called and a lady name Candy answered the phone, super sweet, funny and very helpful. She understood my problem and assured me that they will fix it.  In under 35 minutes, I swear to you, Mr. Tom Burke showed up at my door.

I was amazed at how fast the service was. He stated he was around the area and took the call. Mr. Burke was our guardian Angel sent from heaven. My problem was not easy and very complicated. My problem was that unfortunately, while the workers were changing the tile of my house, two of them fell inside the opening and caused for the pipe to plug up the pipe that connected the drain from the toilet and the shower. Mr. Burke was very honest from the start and assured me that he will do his best to resolve it. After 45 min of pushing the tile out of the main drain, Mr. Burke said to continue praying. I start crying because I knew he was sent to my house for a reason!

I do believe in miracles.

My bathroom is working perfectly and my trust and loyalty will always be for Roto-Rooter in Orlando. This gentleman deserves to be promoted for his capacity to deal with customers in need. He was very friendly, concerned, and maintained super professional.  If it wasn't for the camera Mr. Burke placed inside the pipes, nothing was going to be resolved. The other plumbers never used a camera to find out what was wrong, they only guessed and charged me. Consumer tip: don't hire a PLUMBER unless have a camera. Don't waste your money. Roto-Rooter was the BEST. Thank you again, Mr. Tom Burke.
sincerely ,
R Bisso

Roto Rooter lied to me I called 930 1030 1130 and 1230 they answered at 1230 said they called another number to reach me at 1030 didn't get an answer so pushed us off to between 8 and 10am tomorrow said they didn't have my number in their system yet at 930 1030 and 1130 recognized my number. They been to this address 4 times in the last year. Twice when it rain I put up tent for them and kept them hydrated and offered food. Tonight they right out lied to me as if I didn't exist. First time they let me down and by having lied to me was worse.

After posting the above I finally got satisfaction. It was the one and only problem I ever had because of last nights dispatcher. As usual the tech they sent was friendly and hard working professional and apologized about the dispatcher and fixed the problem quickly.  Tech #4500 Jayden completed great service recovery and should be rewarded.

Extremely high prices! Clearing my bathroom tub drain by snaking it they said their basic price is $355. Literally TWICE as much as others; Don't be fooled by the coupon because even with that it is still more than other companies. The serviceman did a good job snaking it for 15 minutes but the cost is outrageous.

Wow.....20min and speaking to four different people to find out how much to replace a standard 4 bathroom vanity faucet....are you sitting down?  $179.00 1st hour and $90.00 each additional hour. They think would take two hours...oh that's not including the part...really?  I informed them I just fired the other plumber for charging $380.00 for repair of moen $495.00 for a replacement.  Oh I was quite clear I manage 100 + properties....they are doing so well with their overcharging that they don't need my business.

The Orlando staff answered quickly and was able to work a schedule a plumber for later that evening without hesitation. The plumber called to advise he was on his way and was actually earlier than the time they gave me which was a plus. Knowledgeable, professional, and a great guy. I will not think twice when it comes time to use them again. He repaired both toilets in under an hour and didn't give me grief nor charge me extra for trying to fix it myself.

Initially I was considering filing a formal complaint with the main office. My first appointment 10/7 the technician was over an hour late to the assigned 2 hour window, however his friendliness and quick work quickly alleviated my frustrations. However a day later the issue returned and a second appointment was scheduled 10/10. However, due to delays the appointment was canceled by roto-rooter. The following day 10/11 I spoke with the dispatcher only to hear that the technicians were delayed again. Only to my surprise the technician arrived about 30 minutes after my call and was even more friendly and knowledgable than the first. He spent 2 hours thoroughly snaking and video exploring our drain line. He provided me with excellent insight and education for the future. He fixed the original problem and then some. Michael C. Was one of the best service technicians I've had the chance to work with. His attention to detail and level of customer service can only be described as pristine.

My wife was getting quotes to replace our drain field while I was at work. The RR Tech was several hours late in arriving at our home. He gave her a proposal for more than double what all of the other companies were quoting and told her she needed to sign it so  he could prove he that he gave her a copy of the quote and that it was not the contract, it was just an acknowledgment of him giving her the quote When my wife called me, I told her not to sign anything and let him know he may have made a mistake and look it over again. A few minutes later she called me back and told me the RR Tech got visibly perturbed when she told him I told her not to sign it and left in a huff before she could tell him to look over his price. When I arrived home, I looked over the RR Proposal and where he was asking her to sign was an acceptance of the proposal and authorization for the work!

When I called the service center to lodge a complaint, I was given to a person who was also rude and only wanted to bad mouth the competition and not listen to my concerns.

When I went to their web page to write a complaint, it would not let me submit it!

Horrible customer service!!!! I called for an emergency plumbing service and they told me they would have someone available between 8:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. the next day. I got a call around 9:00 a.m. the next morning to tell me they were running behind; got another call around 12:00 p.m. stating they were still running behind. I called back at 4:15 p.m. and was told I was the next customer. Called again at 7:15 p.m. for them to tell me they were just about to call me....yea right! Now suddenly there are no plumbers in the area and they want to offer me $50 off their service to come the next morning....NO THANK YOU!!!! You've wasted enough of my time...I called someone else who had their plumber here within 2 hours! Do not use this company; they waste your time and my time is VALUABLE!!!!

Michael was awesome and thorough. He was prompt and finished in a timely fashion. He was also very amiable. I was truly delighted to have his help...especially his making a difficult situation very easy.

The worst service ever. Never on time. Unprofessional and lazy workers. Never call them again. Call someone else a real plumber

Used this service for the first time earlier this month. The first plumber they sent out wasn't sure of the problem and I could barely understand him. After he left I called Roto Rooter back and they sent another man out. Again, I could barely understand the man. He constantly asked for my help and then cut himself dripping blood all over my shower. After 10 minutes he went outside and out a rubber glove on. It took him over an hour to figure out the problem and fixed it. He then took his bloody, wet tools and walked them out of the house dripping all over my carpets, tile and hardwoods. It took me and my wife over an hour to bleach and disinfect everything he touched. I called and complained. The manager called me back and stated he would just talk to the employees. Not a word of lowering the bill for our time assisting and cleaning. Never using this service again.

My house flooded and I called RotoRooter. I need dehumidifiers in my house immediately. I was told that they would be her between 2-4. When the guy Raphael called me he said that he will be at my house before 2pm. 2:30 rolled around and Im still panicking and called to see where he was. I had his cell phone number since he called me and in went straight to voice mail. I called 3 more tiles till 4pm without every hearing back from him.   I called the direct line again and asked what was going on and I was told that they had some new technicians and that they where going to get a hold of them.  I never got a return call. I then went to Home depot and had to rent three. On my way back I received a call and I told them that I had to act fact and went and rented my own.

Second part: I was also waiting for another person to come out and  fix the pipe. They said its a different division. So He was to also be at my house by 4pm. And never showed. I had to call another number to talk to a different disbator. I let him know that I needed to be somewhere by 6:00 and needed to leave by 5:30 and where is this plumber at? He checked his schedule and told me that he was unable to get someone out to me by 5:30. I asked him if they were awar of this than why didn't I receive a call to let me know. His comment That would be my fault. I rescheduled for first thing in the morning with a window from 8-12:00. I asked for him to narrow it down. But that was the best that he could do. I asked him to please call me if they are not going to be able to make it. I questioned if this would happen since they didn't call me and let me know this time.

They did show up in the morning and fixed the pipe and it was at 8:30am

The worst follow up of any company in the service sector. Started on Friday at 1 pm - second person on Friday showed up at 10:30 pm. Told someone would contact us for Saturday. Never heard anything. We called Sunday and now are in a waiting game for Monday. Never wasted so much time for substandard service.

My biggest problem was getting someone here. The dispatch kept telling me that all the jobs prior to mine were taking longer than expected. I started calling about 7PM. I was told someone would be here between 8 & 10 PM. I then received a call stating that is would be later. Finally at 1:30AM I received a call asking if I wanted to continue to wait or schedule in the morning. I said in the morning was good. he said someone would be here between 8 & 10AM. No one showed. I called at 11AM and was told that my appointment was scheduled for Friday Am between 8 & 10 AM. This was Sunday! I asked her if that made sense to her. Why would I call for sewer back up in my tub and wait for 5 more days to get it fixed? Also toilet would not flush. She then told me that someone would be here within the hour. No one showed! I called at 2PM and was told that things were really backed up but someone would come that day and fix the problem. The gentleman that came seemed to know what he was doing, I also had him install a new toilet for me. I asked him if he had been extremely busy and he said it had been a light day and they weren't that busy. I was shocked but kept silent. The only thing that I was not to happy about with his work is that he did clean up very good before he left. Other than that as far as workmanship was good.

Claudius did a great job in fixing our sewer clog and resetting our toilet. He was proactive in trying to do everything possible to fix our clog. Our home had no electricity yet, but we were able to bum some power from our neighbor. He finished the job at around 9:30pm. Definitely great service. i would use them again.

We had a leak in one of our bedrooms, we called Roto Rooter at 9 pm on a Friday night and they were at our house within 2 hours. The service technician they sent found the problem and gave us the option to fix it that night or in the morning. We opted for morning and he made sure our water was shut off to prevent any further water damage. He arrived at our house first thing the next morning (Saturday) and fixed the problem. We were very happy with the service we were provided

Courteous answering service. Set up an appt. 1-3pm had not shown up by 3:30pm so we had to call them, and they said it would be here by 5pm. Never showed. No calls. We had to call them AGAIN. They said they were backed up and it would be several hours before they could show up. We have waited all day at this point, with no follow up calls from them. Finally called them back to cancel the appt. they did not try to fix the problem or help us out at all when we cancelled. They seem like they couldn't care less. Now we have to find someone else on a weekend, Because they are so inconsiderate and do not follow up with calls when they can't make it or are going to be late.
