Mr Brandon is the ONLY TECHNICIAN we have been working with since the very first call requesting an estimate for an Electrical Panel UPGRADE of a very dated unit.  Mr Brandon was both professional and courteous even before knowing whether or not he will be called back to perform the job.  He continues to be exemplary during every appointment.   Mr Brandon will continue to be our goto for any work that may come up, in an older home, in the future.   Mr Brandon is always on time, pleasant, knowledgeable and patient in explaining the job and services in an easy to understand manner.

Would not quote over phone. For less than 10 minutes to replace a light switch they charged me $324.  He said it needed diagnostic but didn't even turn off power.  Trip charge was waived at $59 so the real charge was $383. AND, the switch plate was installed back on crooked.  OMG Never again!!!

BAIT AND SWITCH COMPANY! Beware!! I called this company letting them know my lights aren't working and I got told to send a guy out is 60 dollars. Little did I know they charge 60 dollars just to have the guy drive down the block. And not even check anything. On top of the 60 dollars you pay a Diagnostic Fee of 300 dollars. Just for him to check for 1 minute that the light fixture was the problem.
I asked how much would it be to install a new one,
He said 100 bucks for the light mixture and he would charge 2.5% up charge because he has to drive to get the light fixture. So a total of 250$ just to get the light fixture install it ON TOP of the diagnostic fee and the drive to the house. He quoted me 900$ to have everything done today.
900 dollars to fix a small light fixture after all the  fees !! This company was honesty just a shocking experience when it comes to price. I value their experience but 800 dollars for a light fixture change, absolutely never again. I still paid the 300 dollars for him to drive and tell me something was wrong and not even fix my issue and  on TOP of all that I had to call another company to install the light fixture for a WAY more reasonable price.

I should have read these reviews on Yelp before calling this company.

We received a quote for almost $3k.  Their estimates was more than quadruple two other estimates from other national and local reputable companies.  Plus, they claim to charge for the task rather than the amount of time.  Which makes it difficult to understand if you are getting a fair market estimate. I'm convinced that there are other variables they use in their estimates, like home value, etc. We ended up getting the work done with a different company.  It took a total of 3 hours to complete, which is being generous as the tech did have to stop for breaks and was rather talkative.  There's no way I was willing to pay $1k per hour to Mr Sparky.  I highly recommend shopping around for estimates as this company was significantly over priced from their peers.

My first experience with Mr. Sparky was rough. I called them primarily because I was concerned about an electrical issue in the middle of the night and I saw that they were a 24/7 company.

When they arrived later in the day, I mentioned the issues to them and they began looking for the source of the trouble. Initially they couldn't find any problem and they were ready to wrap things up. Given my suspicion and the potential seriousness of electrical misfirings, I urged them to continue looking around and they finally found the problem that ended up being right in plain sight. That wasn't the best first impression.

Mr. Sparky has returned a couple of times and the new employees are much better. The last person who came, Mr. Hicks, was so kind and personable. More importantly, he was also very thorough.

Based on the last two experiences with them, I would definitely call them again for electrical issues.

Mister Sparky is the best electrician in the Jax area. They're professional, reliable, and know their stuff. They have done multiple repairs and new installs in my home, and have done an A+ job every time.

On December 21, 2020, I had them out to inspect my range that made a bang when I turned it on. They were responsive and came right out. The tech informed us that the range had died and we would need a replacement. Before leaving he disconnected and removed the range from the kitchen and told us to call them to install it

Fast forward to March 15, 2021, after 3 months with a hot plate, the new range has been delivered. We call Mr. Sparky to come and install it. They get out quick, but note that the dispatchers cannot give you quote information. After getting a hard time from the tech about not installing appliances (ie taking it out of the box and dropping it in the hole in the countertop) I get quoted ~$200 for the install, and $400 to hook it up. Keep in mind, it is essentially the same task (in reverse) that I paid $196 three months earlier. The entire process took 30 minutes tops, total cost was $520 after the tech discounted the price because it was easier than expected.

I have tried for the past two days to speak with the company about the pricing, and get someone to explain to my how the same procedure could cost three times more, but I am getting no where. I have called twice, speaking with two different people, both of whom took my information with a promise to call back, and nothing for two days.

I used Mr. Spark multiple times in my two years at my current address, but they clearly have no interest in maintaining customer relationships and their pricing is both opaque and illogical.

Mister Sparky fixed my outdoor lighting.  Mike, one of the Managers is highly experienced and has a great attitude.  Even did some extra work no charge.

Hire a company like this to guarantee their work.  Might not be perfect first try, but they will make it more than right without trying to steal extra money.

I had Mr. Sparky come out to my house for the first time.  The electrician, Brandon Hoeffer was a true pro.  He was knowledgeable and professional.  Price was fair and work done as agreed upon.  Call the company and ask for this electrician!

Mixed feelings here. Called because my bathroom exhaust fan in the house we just bought doesn't vent to the outside; it vents to the attic. Read online that this is very bad and should be remedied. Called Sparky's to come look. The woman in the phone was VERY nice, professional, and helpful. We scheduled an estimate for a few days out. The two Sparky techs showed up on time and were very professional. However, they were here for less than 5 minutes, never looked in my attic, said it's fine to vent to the attic, and charged me $50 for coming out. The woman with whom I scheduled the estimate did tell me about the $50, but also added that it'd be deducted from the cost of the work when the work was over, which makes sense. I guess...if the issue was THIS simple (needing NO visual inspection of the attic and only a cursory glance at the bathroom)...seems like a wasted trip that could have been handled with a 30 second phone call. Seems like they just wanted the $50. Everybody I interacted with was professional. It just felt a little...odd.

I would love to give them a great review, because the tech was the best- but I can't because the office is a nightmare. Only hire them if you don't care about ever getting a copy of your invoice and if your work doesn't need to be inspected by the city.

Very unhappy,  I feel that I was cheated.  Called the office to set an appointment to replace a GFIC.  Appointment time was set for between 1and 5pm.  Received call at 1130, 12 minutes away.   $59 trip fee and was advised this would go toward the service.   FIRST he quoted $200 to replace the easily accessible GFIC.  I said this was to high  as I have had other electricians charge between 100 and 125.  He starts to walk out then says ok, I will do it for $137.  He then removes the old GFIC, installed the new , after hitting the wires causing it to arc.   He then says,  you have no power to these lines.  Then he wants an additional $333 to find the problem.   He then FOUND a broken wire at the GFIC connection.   Final price for replacement of one GFIC $274.  I will tell everyone I come in contact with looking for electric to not call Mr. SPARKEY. RIP OFF!!!!!!

Mr Sparky is my GO-TO electrician company! Karen ( the receptionist ) is the kindest and most helpful woman. Ive used Mr Sparky for years now and I wouldn't use anyone else! Their employees are respectful, and never leave a mess after installing all my lights/fans! They are always on time and they call me within an hour of arriving! Their prices are fair and honest. They do amazing work! When installing fans they take the time to make sure they are secure and working correctly. Without a doubt best electrical company I've ever worked with and HIGHLY recommend them to anyone.

Would never consider using this place. I called for a routine service request, they were very friendly and set up an appointment the next day between  11:30 and 2pm. I explained exactly what I needed and where I lived. By 2:30 the next day with no arrival I called the office where I was told they  had no record of the appointment suggesting they had been having computer problems and I must have fallen thru the cracks. I then was told maybe it wasn't them that I called, they don't even service my area. That was despite the fact that their website shows that they do cover my area and I was calling the exact same number my phone was telling me I called yesterday. While I was on the phone with the office I received a call from the electrician who suggested he could tell me over the phone how to do the wiring. When I balked at that he told me the charge to come out and do a diagnostic was $333 plus a $67.50 charge for the work. Despite my repeating that I needed some fairly easy wiring of a  replacement fan by an electrician he insisted I needed a diagnostic. This is in spite of the fact that their website says free estimates.
When I talked again to the office they were very apologetic and offered discounts but I would suggest this was a classic bait and switch and the Company should be avoided at all cost.

We needed some ceiling lights put in and a GFI switch repaired.  Frank came in and gave us a good quote and Tim came soon after and did the work.  They were professional, punctual and the quote was fair.  They didn't try to upsell me.  It was an excellent experience.

If I can give zero star, I would. I am thankful I did not hire this company. I was almost deceived by them of thousand of dollars. Had some electrical problems and was informed  that I need to spend anywhere from 2k-5k to fix the issue. I didn't know anything about electrical but I do know when a business is using scare tactic to promote sales. They said that it had to be done or it will cause fire and wouldn't be safe to live in. That the situation/problem was imminent. I almost bought into it, but I decided to call another company for a second opinion because I just didn't trust their scare tactics sales approach. Turned out the supposed problem they claimed wasn't a problem at all, nothing major or imminent needed fixing, and it was just a simple electrical job that ended up with only few hundred dollars. I was told by the electrician I ended up hired that I was poorly misinformed.

It was just very dishonest and unethical business practice. I don't know if it was a honest mistake - a wrong diagnostic or simply, that their technicians were commission based that they had to lie in order to get a sale. Don't know. I just glad I wasn't their victim. Will definitely file a claim to the BBB to warn others about them. Please, if you ever want to hire them, please call for second opinion before you make the hiring decision. Please don't let them be the first guy you call and hire. It almost happened to me and I glad I didn't.

We bought our home 5 years ago and thought that the inspection that said electrical updated in 2003 was correct. We going out with a new inspection that not only did we have a house full of cloth wires we also had EXPOSED wires. Several phone calls and estimates late Mr. Sparky (and Brandon) to the rescue! They were prompt, I got a text every morning telling me they were on the way so I never answered the door in pjs! They cleaned up after themselves and finished a full day early! Those are some hard working men! Polite and considerate and a great price with guarantee. I highly recommend Mr. Sparky and will be calling them when we do more on our remodel!

Some of the power went out in my apartment and it was an issue that the maintenance guys couldn't fix. They contacted Mister Sparky for me. Because this happened on a Saturday I was worried I'd be stuck without my AC working until Monday. Thankfully, Ryan arrived within an hour of being called! He was able to quickly diagnose and fix the problem. He was also very kind and professional.

Carlos was awesome!  My smoke alarm had been chirping (so I thought) and he came out and changed the batteries in all of them.  It turned out that there was an old smoke alarm sitting on my bookshelf.  Carlos found it and we were all set.  He was great!  Thanks so much!

Highly recommend this company! We have a new home and recently had an electrical issue that no one could seem to pinpoint where it was originating! The first team of guys, Chris and Cameron showed up on a Saturday and were very thorough in searching for the root cause of it and were super polite and courteous working around all the family members in the house at the time.

The next day we had another team member, Chad,  come to discover the issues was more complicated and he would have to return the following day with help. He and Ali arrived the next day (on a Holiday!) and stayed until the job was complete! They were very helpful in explaining the situation to us and seemed extremely knowledgeable and competent.

These guys will make sure you are happy with the job and that your home is safe. And the answering department was always kind and kept us informed on timeframe of the workers, etc. Great service all around!!!

I used this company for an electrical issue in my garage.  Their rep, David, showed up on time, gave me a fair estimate, and completed the work on time.  He did excellent work and explained the guarantee on the work completed.  I will use them again.

Mayor with Mr. Sparky has consistently provided stellar service and support throughout our home renovation project.  He does a great job with executing the basic's; he show's up when he says he's going to,  he does the work he promises to do, he offers solutions for issues that we initially were not aware of, he's timely in completing projects, he's reliable, responsible and knowledgeable.  We plan on using Mr. Sparky for future projects.

I called out Mister Sparky that I found on Angie's list to install two additional flood lights that was never installed when the house was built back in 06. Jason Jordan, was the tech assigned to come out and write up a estimate for me. Only time I had open to be at home to meet him was on a Saturday between 12pm and 4pm. Jason called me to confirm the appointment and to let me know when he would arrive. Which out of the gate was great because usually this is hit or miss with other businesses/ techs I've dealt with in the past. I'm still dealing with a nightmare experience with spectrum! Just terrible... However, Jason was the complete opposite! He showed up on time exactly when he said he would! Extremely helpful, very knowledgeable, and took the time to walked me through the entire job/ project. And most of all he was patient with me and listened to every question I had. Which for me was huge too since I have no idea what I'm talking about and I tend to ramble! Especially when it comes to electrical installations. He walked with me through the house on some other questions I had and patiently answered them all! Gave me my quote before he left and backed it all up with texts and emails! To me a company is only as good as the techs in the field that represent the company! Techs are the face of the business! I'm VERY impressed with Jason and highly recommend Mister Sparky! I can not say enough good things about them and Jason Jordan!!

When the technician came out to give the quote, he was very professional and reassuring that the work was going to go well - and although extensive - could be done in one day. When the day of the work came, the technician arrived with two additional techs and began work. We expected the work to last 5-6 hours, for the main panel, and then expected to have power back in the house, while they completed pulling the new circuits. THANK GOD WE HAD A GENERATOR! The techs arrived around 9am and did not finish until 11pm - YUP, 14 HOURS! It was beyond ridiculous. Without our generator we would have lost 100s of dollars in groceries from our refrigerator/freezer, the house ended up being 85 degrees for us to try and sleep that night, we tried calling the main office - multiple times to see what could be done to get the work completed faster/sooner (send out some other techs, etc.) - but no response - not even when I left multiple requests for them to call me back the next day. We received nothing but I'm sorry and was then handed the bill for $7,350.00. Our pool cleaner was stepped on and broken - we were not told - and our brand new broom and dustpan set were taken when they were cleaning up. Based on our experience I WOULD NOT USE THEM AGAIN! It was A LOT of money to have such an awful customer service experience!

All mister sparkey does is over charge,then slap you with a 60.00 service call.Please call around! The tech told me four replacement gang boxes was going to be 600.00 , I think the techs were sizing me up.( I had the same job done for 130.00) Go for free estimates. Please do not become a victim to over priced commissioned/ electrician/ salesperson. And yes they are commissioned. Mr sparky price is a shocker and will light you up! They have bogus reviews @ 5 stars, just plain BS There is no way they could achieve this rating with such deceptive business practices and pricing!

The utmost professionals. They arrived on time, called in advance, did a great job and cleaned up afterwords. Ask for Brad and Joe they were awesome. They have fair prices and gave us an accurate estimate before hand. Really glad I listened to all the previous reviews and went with these guys.

Called for a quote to fix a double tap issue with my breaker box. Person how came told me that the box was full and the only way to solve the issue was to put in a new larger breaker box. Quoted me $2,400 to do it. I asked if a subpanel could be installed, he said it would be more expensive then a new panel. Told him to send me the quote as I was planning to get additional quotes. He then told me if I had the work done right then I would get a 15% discount, but only if I had the work done while he was there. Told him to send the quote! He then told me there was a $69 service call fee, which no one explained with I set up the appointment. I then had a second electric company come for a quote. After 5 minutes of checking out the breaker panel the second company said that the fix was no big deal. Within 30 minutes he had created additional space in the box and cured the double tap situation plus added a spare breaker and only charged $260 for parts and labor. Plus he said that adding a subpanel would have been far cheaper then replacing a whole new breaker panel.The person sent by Mister Sparky either didn't know what he was doing or was scamming me with a very expensive upsell. Never use Mister Sparky without getting a second quote unless you want to pay through the nose for work you don't need. They did refund the service call fee after I complained. I will never use them again!

David also provided excellent service in installing three ceiling fans and upgrading our fire alarm system.  He was efficient, arrived on time, explained policies, and completed work on time.  I agree strongly with Tim M's review.  I will use Mister Sparky again and ask for David to do the work.

For the first time since I moved to this house in 2003,  I called Mr Sparky to have an electrician install my new microwave oven/hood and also new fire alarms. The electrician, Mayer, was very knowledgeable and recommended an upgrade to my GFI outlet in the kitchen.  I feel so much better about the safety of my house.  I definitely have more projects for Mr Sparky and heartily recommend this company to anyone!

Mr. Sparky just saved us a lot of money. I give them very high marks for honestly and customer service, particularly for a young electrician named Travis. Our electricity was out late at night. JEA told us it was a main breaker and our problem. We sent photos of the breaker to a different highly rated company (American Electric), and they told us it that because it was an obsolete Sylvania breaker, we would have to go without power overnight and pay over $1,600 for a whole new panel.Their charge just to look at it was $325. We called Mr. Sparky for a second opinion. They immediately identified the breaker from the photo as a Seimens, had it in stock, came out immediately, convinced JEA that their meter was bad, and fixed our problem at 1 a.m. for a few hundred dollars. Mr. Sparky also noted that Seimens and Sylvania (which is NOT obsolete)  are interchangeable in our panel. Mr. Sparky saved us a lot of money and inconvenience. If you want honest and professional work, don't use anyone else
