I've had three plumbers out this week from Hafke (don't ask!) and they've all be so helpful, friendly, and the office communication has been great. I'll continue to use them for our home. Thank you for your service!

I found Janes K Hafke on thumbtack. Quick to respond and a reasonable quote. I initially called for a snake on my kitchen sink. A technician showed up, seemed engaged and knowledgeable ready to fix the issue. Unfortunately the snake machine was broken so instead he did a local cleaning from under the sink to remove the blockage and said he'd return if I had issues. I paid $70 for a snake but received a local pipe cleaning which I could have done myself. I called back and asked for a complete service of the pipe/snake as that is what I paid for. I've had on going issues with my line and I wanted peace of mind. The technician returned only to advise that I didn't need it and to call back when it backed up. I should mention this is my rental and I live in CA, which they knew, so I was putting out family to meet them only to get nothing done. I called back a couple months later as my tenant mentioned water accumulation in the dishwasher. They came out on Saturday, which I appreciated. The technician calls me and I explained my history with them, and my on going issue and would appreciate if he could diagnose the problem as I wanted to know if it was the line to the dishwasher or a defect dishwasher that was 1.5 yrs old. My tenant said he walked in, walked out, called me, and then left. He explained that the pump in the dishwasher was broken and not pumping out water even though he literally didn't touch a thing. I get you don't work on appliances but you work on the lines to the appliances! The technician sounded young and stoned and quite frankly afraid to advise me on anything. He called his main office and was advised to tell me a lie basically to do he could leave. The appliance repair technician came out the next day.. it was a line that wasn't connected properly, something I believe a plumber could find if they actually did their job! I was truly hoping to find a good plumber in these guys, but they ended up being a huge disappointment.

Just got an estimate from this company. Even home advisor making money over pricing their advertising fees said this job estimate should be between 172.00 - 443.00.

This company wanted to charge me 1500.00 to 2250.00. !!!!!!!

   Karma folks.

I scheduled a service call with a window between 1:00-3:00 on a Saturday with female who claimed to be one of the owners of James K. Hafke Plumbing. She assured me that a tech would call me prior to arriving. At 3:30 when no one showed up or called I called the company and went into voicemail leaving a message, with no response or call back. A reputable company would have called saying they were running behind and try to reschedule.  What a waste of a Saturday.

I called James K Hafke for an issue I was having with a clog in my roof vent pipe. When I scheduled the appointment, I provided some detail and when the technician arrived, I explained that there was a clog. The technician immediately started looking at all of the plumbing under the house telling me it was done incorrectly.

Having told the technician upfront that the issue was a clog in my vent pipe and that it could be unclogged from the roof, he said he would get up on the roof with a snake for $225. Maybe I should have asked for the granular fine print, but I think it's safe to assume that one getting on the roof with a snake is going to snake the drain. That's what I assumed so I paid it. After the technician got down from the roof, he told me there was a clog - which is what I said when he initially arrived at my house.

From there, he and the other technician that had arrived, proceeded to quote me on replacing all of the plumbing under my house (~$3,000) and/or jetting my vent pipe ($~800). So what was a simple issue that could have been fixed in 5 minutes with the proper equipment turned into at least a $1,000 fix...to unclog a pipe.

The guys that were here were nice, and I have no doubt they do great work, I just didn't get to see it. I thought their description of services was incredibly misleading (and overpriced) and unlucky for them, they are dealing with someone who will out-petty them any day.

P.S. They also blatantly lied about my kitchen sink being disconnected from the main drain line. They said the water from the sink was just running under my house. Once I fixed the vent pipe issue, I ran the kitchen sink by itself and verified (at the cleanout 65ft away from my house) that it was in fact connected and draining.

I had a root problem in one of our bathrooms and they found a broken fitting under ground and fixed it in 1 day. They are very fast and clean up after they are done. We had a great plumber and helper on our job.

NEW OWNERSHIP! Michael was transparent in pointing out the issue and giving me several pricing options that worked for my budget. Took the time to not charge me for unnecessary services and the work was completed in a very reasonable time frame. Arrived in time and was genuinely friendly.

Two stars for the office's work and being responsive to my issue. The rest was horrible. Quoted a ridiculous price to solve an easy repair. In fact, after I sent them away, the next quality plumber told me it would cost him more in time to write the invoice than it was worth in charging for the repair. Hafke has bogus service techs trained to get the dollar over getting the long term customer. Hopefully they are not all that way and I just drew the short straw.

Our main sewer line was all backed up. They were able to get the problem solved the same day that I called to schedule service. Grant and Jordan were very detailed in each aspect of the job, ensuring I was aware of the issue and how they had to solve it. Their manager Michael showed up at a reasonable time to use a camera to check for roots and any other issue that could have caused the back up. Only reason I am not giving 5 stars is   that they were a little pricey based on others in this area, but I was grateful that they were able to be there the day of and fix our issue and they did a great job.

This morning my 16 year old daughter asked me if we should get Justin and Michael a thank you card- I mean, when a 16 year old understands and appreciates the work that these guys dedicated to our home, that truly means something, but it makes sense. The day after we moved into our new home, anything that could go wrong with the plumbing did. The toilet was backing up into the shower, the laundry wasn't working, when we ran the tub, it drained out under the toilet, and the hot water stopped working. After a camera inspection and snaking, they diagnosed that the newly installed bathroom needed to be completely rerouted and there was a huge clog compounded by orangeburg that needed to be replaced. Of course, after just buying a new home, I couldn't afford any of it, but they really spent time working with me on a few different options that could tide me over until I could pay to get an entire overhaul of the plumbing and after calling a few places about the job, I realized their pricing was more than fair. As soon as I gave them the go ahead, they were there the next day-- they busted their asses cutting through concrete, digging holes, laying new pipe and made sure that at every step along the way that we were able to have at least some measure of working plumbing even though pretty much everything had to be redone. Not to mention, patiently providing a stressed working teacher/mom a course in Plumbing 101 every day for about a week. On more than one occasion, I came home from work and they were still working in the pouring rain-- with a huge smile!!! These guys are super friendly, extremely knowledgeable and will forever be the ones I call when this new house of mine needs some more plumbing love.

I was quoted a price for my repairs and when the service tech finished he added more money to the bill that was not originally quoted.  The price was very high in either case. Call somebody else.  This plumber is not recommended by me.

We hired this company in Feb to move a shower valve, set a tub, and rip out and replace a vanity/sink in our guest bathroom. After 4 visits we now have 3 extra holes in the walls, shower valve has been set twice, a dripping vanity that was installed completely crooked, and they left having never even turned the water back on. We have paid them for this job but now have to call a real plumbing company. Brandon owner cursed at me and told me that I was crazy to expect to be able to snap my fingers and have him come back out today to fix our shower... that still isn't working. He blamed the problem on our tile guy, our vanity not being built level, our faucets that were without parts (but had all parts the first time his guys took everything apart), etc. His solution was to come back out sometime next week (after our company leaves to go home to make it easier on us) to fix our guest bathroom that his company installed incorrectly. (Sink is leaking in brand new wooden vanity and shower has zero pressure and no hot water) Technicians were friendly but always came without tools, materials, or any kind of guidance.

Did I mention we paid in full upfront?!

***Update: The owner of the company, Brandon, contacted my fiancé and issued us a check for a full refund on 6/21/17.***

Find anyone else.  Had a water leak and needed someone quickly and now I have a dug up yard for three weeks and they won't fix their shortcut.  POOR communication, if at all.  They aren't cheap either.  Repair to water main.  They damaged my sprinkler system control wire and didn't tell me, took the lids off the sprinkler valve and shutoff and buried them in sand!  Cut the Invisible fence wire, didn't tell me.  And after the inspector left they spliced in the water straight off the main, no shut off, 6 below the grass line and ran it 15 feet back to the original location on top of the water main to the house!  The crew then tried to bury that blunder so I wouldn't see it!  Left the yard a mess and had our water shutoff multiple times in the process.  Have filed with the Better Business Bureau as they admitted this is wrong, but weeks later have not contacted me to fix their error.

Had this company come out for hot water heater replacement. Chris showed up without the heater and said he would be back in the a.m....4p.m., still no Chris....530....still no call no show...bottom line...it would have been $385. for the install and between $400-$450. for the heater....and I would have to dispose of the heater myself. Called Rotor man....$625 installed the next day and they took the old one away! Don't waste your time with first company....young kids who have better things to do than to provide ANY customer service. Oh and when I called to complaim, the girl who answered the phone hung up on me...my score....MINUS 5 stars! Gave them 1 star because I had to..

Had a toilet that kept running a few days after paying $1280 for them to clear up a clog in my pipe in yard (2 year old granddtr put 2 solo cups in pipe because cap was broken.) I told them on phone I had 2 bathrooms but Alex only fixed the hall bathroom and didn't go in Master bathroom which was the toilet I originally complained on phone about.  They sent another guy (Jon) out but told me I would be charged- expected a minimal charge because all he did is put a new kit in toilet tank ($25-30 retail?) plus maybe (?) 1 hour to complete.  Bill was nearly $400 but toilet works!  Have since had an AC issue & called a different company that does both plumbing & HVAC work.  He fixed it in 30 min at reasonable cost and I'll be using them next time!!!  Felt the orig plumber company overcharged me!  My brother who lives in PA validated my thoughts!

I hired them to go to my house and do a dishwasher diagnostic. The results they gave me were inaccurate. They also didn't want to give me any results of the diagnostic until they were sure they were paid. Second plumber discovered all the issues that had nothing to do with what Hafke Plumbing had told me initially. I'm glad I didn't do more business with them. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

Had them come out to unclog a drain.  They did but said it was temporary and they would have to come back with camera Monday.  They came back with an uncharged camera to add to the time.  I was told I needed complete new sewer line at a cost of about $1,500 more than they charged me 4 weeks prior on a very similar job.  Got a second opinion and the plumber who put camera down said it was at city tie in and the city ended up fixing for free.  To add insult the field supervisor was completely rude when I questioned the pricing.  I wrote a review and decided to see if I could talk to owner first.  I did and she asked if she could do anything and I said yes refund my $185 for camera fee and she said ok but sign something saying everything was resolved and don't leave a bad review and I agreed until she said you need to go to a notary to get it signed.  By the way, she said they have a prepared form - must have happened before.  BUYER BEWARE!

Im leaving a two star review due to only half of our plumbing being completed within our entire home renovation. Hafke Plumbing had to come back multiple times to partly finish some of the work at my home. My main complaint is the work that is not completed, not working,  and the total lack of concern Hafke shows of fixing the plumbing issues. I scheduled for their service last week, they called and cancelled for this week, this week has come and now they cancel again for next week. Stating they are too busy with other projects to work on mine.  I personally feel that due to the relationship with the builder this company is purposely pushing my PAID for - incomplete job aside... Beyond unprofessional and gross.

1. my TWO bathrooms, that are to have specialty kohler brass fittings, brass p traps and brass water lines installed were not complete but left with large plastic pipes. I was told one threaded pipe was missing and to order it, which i did. This was needed for ONE bathroom, due to the plumbing heights not being measured correctly when the rough in plumbing was done. I had all the kohler parts (but the one needed to correct their mistake) in my home waiting since the beginning of the project.

2. My garbage disposal plastic feeder was put in upside down in my prep sink...

3. A $2000 master bath tub filler not only jiggles due to not being mounted properly, but only hot water comes out and cold water trickles out after a short blast... not to mention the wall mounted X handles were put in crooked. These were very expensive fixtures, that were treated very carelessly and are now covered in gunk.

I understand large jobs are difficult, tedious and complicating... but when a homeowner has paid and finds issues then calls to schedule and is kind about these types of issues and is treated as if they are a bother and then is repeatedly pushed back.. I find this wrong and past the point of unprofessional. There are legitimate issues within my home that was done by Hafke plumbing. This company should be ashamed for their lack of concern. I am forced to find another plumber to fix and finish this paid for job.  Just craziness.

My sewer line was due for replacement and James K Hafke Plumbing was one of the plumbers that people recommended on Next Door.  I contacted them via E-mail.  It took a few days to get a response because of the holiday.  We had an estimate appointment scheduled for Wednesday, but they were running late so they asked if they could come Friday instead.  That worked out better for me, so I said that was fine.  Billy came out and we came up with a plan for sewer replacement using a new tap that the city was going to install.  He quoted me $8400 for the job which was comparable to another plumber's quote while another one gave me a quote for more than twice that.

I got scheduled with them for the new sewer line the following Monday.  Roman and Kyle arrived on time Monday morning and got to work right away.  I had pavers in the back yard and they had to pull most of them up to dig the trench.  At one point, my back yard looked like a war zone with dirt everywhere but that's to be expected.  By the end of the day, the new sewer line was in and functioning.  City Inspection couldn't happen until the next morning, so they arrived at 7:30 am and got right to work.  Inspection passed without issues and they had my back yard back to somewhat normal by 10:30 am.  The replaced all of the dirt and leveled it to the best they could.  They removed all of the debris including some old pavers that were buried underneath my pavers.  They worked around the existing electric lines buried in the back yard.  They told me up front that they wouldn't put the pavers back though.  I understand that though as putting down pavers is hard and it takes skill to get them back in correctly.

Overall, if you are looking for sewer line replacement, give James K Hafke a call.  They were priced competitively and got the job scheduled and done quickly.

Horrible service. Came to check out an active leak in our main water pipe found by leak detection company early in the day in our front yard. We agreed to a crazy high estimate,  over $1100,  only because they promised it would be fixed THAT DAY and also because they assured us they knew how to replace the pavers that had to be removed. The guy leaves to go to St. Pete for supplies??? He shows up, finally, only to give some excuse why he doesn't have what he needs and leaves AGAIN.  We cancel plans we had and wait, and wait. to wait. Now we are calling and expressing our concerns that it's going to be dark. They continue to assure us it will get fixed. Shows back up a third time. Leaves AGAIN. Now it's storming so our active leak continues overnight. Comes back the next day and fixes it in about 4 hours, so it could easily have been repaired as promised the day before. . They did not know how to put the pavers back correctly. Looked awful, one looked broken  and it was uneven. When we called the company to complain about the fact that we paid an exorbitant price for 4 hours of work that wasn't done when promised and would have to get the pavers repaired they agreed to refund $250 BUT void our warranty!!! They can keep their warranty,  since they will never be allowed on our property again!

Avoid this plumbing company. Called them after hours, guy came out and said he didn't have a snake in his van, would have to come back later. Came back, dismantled a toilet (for some reason), and said he would have to come out the next day. After working half the day he FINALLY got on the roof and snaked the line - BOOM, problem solved. My friend told me he should have started there. Cost me $650.00

Yesterday my friend had the same exact problem, called a plumbing company, an hour later they were at her house, went straight to the rook, snaked the line - BOOM, it is fixed. Cost her $250.00

The supervisor came out and tried to pressure me into pre-purchasing work for them to do, said if I told him that day, I could get a discount on the cost. That turned me off immediately.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. You have been warned... ‼

We called Hafke plumbing after seeing their name on the City of St. Pete's list of plumbers they work with. The city had told us that there must be a leak in our water service, due to the fact that we were using a lot more water in the past month or so than usual. It looked like the problem was in the line that runs from the meter to the house, and Hafke gave us an estimate to complete that job. We agreed to go ahead with it. The next day they came out and after they started, it became clear that the real problem was probably somewhere else. They let me know, but we agreed to go ahead because it is an old house and we knew that the cast iron piping would need to be replaced eventually. They also agreed to do some repairs in the bathroom -- and it turned out that it was the toilet and shower fixtures that were responsible for most of the leak. So they finished the job, just a couple of days after we had called them out, and the leak had been repaired. We also had a new line going from the vent, which will be helpful when we eventually need to replace other pipes in the house. I was frustrated at first because they'd told us that they weren't allowed to tie the line that they had repaired into the meter directly, and that the city would do that. They didn't do it right away, and it looked like they weren't going to do it which would have meant that the job was unfinished. I let the technician know about my frustration, so they followed up with the city. It took a couple of weeks, but they stayed in contact with me until the remainder of the line had been tied in. I appreciate that they followed up until the job was done to our satisfaction.

We had a problem with a toilet that happened at 11PM on New Years Day. I went online looking for a plumber in Naples and the listing for these people said call now so I did .

Much to my surprise the phone was answered by a live employee, not an answering service. Explained the problem and I was told they would have someone here between 8AM and 10AM.
At 8:15 AM they called to say Richie would be here in 25 minutes. He was. Fixed the problem, replaced a part. and was done by 9 AM. Great guy, great service.

Highly recommend

This was a very expensive repair of a leaking water pipe. They quoted me extra to fix the concrete because the repair involved chipping into my foundation wall to access the leak. They used some kind of putty for the repair instead of concrete. This repair cost about $399 to solder a on a new copper valve and a fitting. The leak was only about an inch inside the concrete and very easy to fix... so much so that the guy reduced my estimated charge from something like $600. I wish I was still able to do this stuff myself but at age 74 and being a paraplegic, I just cannot.
