I called them to give me an estimate and they wanted to charge $1200 for the work. I was blown away by their estimate. Luckily I found a plumber on Craigslist that did the job for $350. I used EP before and they did a good job but their prices was a bit high. I would use it again, the service was good.
They haven't showed up for a meeting and then firstly said they are still on another appointment and after that they lied to us that they called us but nobody answered. We wasted our day just to wait on them. Very unprofessional company.
AMAZING SERVICE
From the moment they picked up the phone I knew we were in great hands!! They are both reliable and honest. 2 things you don't find very often anymore. Al listened to me completely and fully. He called called in Phil to confirm what he felt it was before sending out Guillermo to my home who is as nice as he can be.
Easy to schedule and ON TIME!!!!

I have had Empire come in a few times over the past decade and they have always done a great job with, by Miami standards (at least licensed Miami standards) extremely fair prices. Their plumbers take their time to do the job right, and anything they have fixed for me has stayed fixed.
Don't bother!
I called Empire, a family run business, when I noticed a leak in front of my house coming from the base of a tree in the yard.
I clearly explained the problem to the dispatcher. I am not sure why then, they sent out a technician, Michel, (who after talking with him for a while was not an experienced plumber) for a problem that was more complex than a clogged pipe or toilet.
Michel had to call Phil (the business owners son) to assess the problem. It took almost 2 hours and multiple phone calls to the dispatcher before Phil finally arrive.
Footnote: Each time I called the dispatcher I was told that Phil was 10 minutes away.
Once he finally arrived, Phil explained what needed to be done. He said he would get a proposal drawn up in a couple of days and have it emailed to me. He verbally quoted a repair estimate between $1,800 to $2,200.
2nd Footnote: When I commented I was not a plumber, Phil said he was not a plumber either?!
I waited for the email proposal and finally had to call (7 days after the visit) to follow up. I was told that it had already been emailed to me. (Not true) I asked them to resend and miraculously I received the proposal.
The price on the proposal was higher than what Phil had quoted so I called to renegotiate the cost. Each time I called (6 times over several days) I was told that my call would be returned.
I never received that call back so I moved on...I suggest you do the same if you are considering using Empire as a source for your plumbing solutions!!
Excellent customer service and repairman. I called today to get my shower drain fixed. My call was answered quickly and the associate was knowledgeable and friendly. I was told my appointment was between 1-3pm. The repairman arrived promptly at 1pm and solved and fixed my drain within 20 mins! It great to see a company treat their customers well and have friendly an knowledgeable staff. Will use again for all my plumbing needs

after setting up a review 2 days in advance and letting them know this was critical, they made me wait all day Friday - until 5 PM in Miami Beach during a vacation and i had to call to find out that they wouldn't make it...
Just complete shit service and crappy attitudes.. good place to go if you want to meet some ex cons.
This place has a standard service fee of $175 just to show up... without even doing anything, that's a rip off, and that fee does not go towards any parts or actually servicing the problem, don't call this place, they are ridiculous!!!!!!! So if your problem cost $7 they still charge you $175 just to tell you the problem will cost $7 to fix... don't support a place like this...

I had an odd experience (non-experience) with Empire Due to a water main break, the copper tubing and filter leading to my dishwasher got clogged up. It's a pretty simple repair job but I have no tools nor much time in the evening for repair. I called Empire, and the woman screening the calls told me that they can do no work on any pipe or tubing or filter that is in anyway connected to a dishwasher. That, she said, would be something the appliance repair people would have to handle. She was quite adamant about it, almost like a stern civil servant telling someone that it's not my department! I explained to her that the filter and tubing were outside the D/W, but she would have none of it. SInce when can a licensed plumber not work on the tubing leading to a dishwasher? I wonder if that rule applies to hot water heaters? Or clothes washing machines? What CAN they work on?
I was also going to have some work done on a bathroom faucet and a shower head and mixing valve, but her attitiude was so off-putting I just dropped it. ANd who knows? Maybe they can't work on pipes leading to a shower head?

I have been doing business with Empire Plumbing over many years. Their work is first class, and long lasting. It is wonderful to have such a good plumbing company near home.
They had me wait an entire day I had an appointment and never showed. I rescheduled the following day for 9:30 am.... They still haven't showed. The reception acts like she knows it all .... I think their actions show they have no clue! Don't waste your time with this company.

It's too bad there's no option for zero stars here. There's really only one thing to say about this business: they suck. Twice I made the mistake of calling and making an appointment with these geniuses. First time around I made an appointment with a time window of 2 hours, 9-11am. Time window came and went and I called at 1230. They casually responded that they were running late and someone would arrive by 3pm. 3pm came and no show, no call, no nothing. Like an idiot I gave them the benefit of the doubt and made an appointment for a different day, in a different time window. No one ever showed. No one called. Just straight up nothing. If you value your time, don't call these lazy idiots. I guess they stay in business because they are local, but it doesn't help if they are too lame and incompetent to show up.

Called Empire for a partial repiping estimate yesterday and they said they could get someone out this morning at 8am. We called to reconfirm at 730 and they told us they would call us back. They call us back at 8 and tell us they can't come at 8 and that it will cost $275 for an estimate. Completely inconsiderate and unprofessional to waste our time like this. Horrible service and communication and the most expensive price just to get a quote I'd ever heard of. Absurd.
I hired Empire Plumbing for the remodeling of my apartment in South Beach and they did a great job ! All inspections passed and they always showed up or came back when needed in a timely manner. I will definitely hire them again in the future.

I called and the plumber arrived in about 30 minutes to fix one toilet. As long as he was here I had him check the other, which needed a minor fix, and also snake a tub drain. He was clean, courteous and honest and I paid a fair price - not cheap but certainly in line with what others charge. In Miami Beach if you live in old condo buildings, you're going to have plumbing issues, so having a reliable plumber is important. Thank you!

Rip off, thieves, do not call them.
Had a leak from 2 sinks in my tri sink commercial sink, called empire, they said they were busy and would send someone the following day between 12-2. First call was on a Tuesday.
After a no show and no calls from them, I called at 4pm on a Wednesday and they said a guy is on the way.
He showed up at 5, checked the leaks, said the company will contact me with an estimate.
No estimate and no calls for 2 days.
Called them again on Friday, 2 days later, they said I will receive an estimate by the end of the day.
That means no one will come to fix the leak that day and I would have to wait till monday.
Still no estimate, called again Monday, still no estimate.
Called Tuesday they said they sent it, I never got it, I told them never mind, can you please tell me what the estimate is, they gave me a quote for 1875$, I told them they're out of they're mind and it's outrageous.
I'm not a plumber but I'm not stupid and thank god I'm pretty handy, went to Home Depot, bought new pipes, strainers, sealants, washers and all tools needed for the job.
Total cost me 126$ and 1 hour of work.
126$!!!!!

Very bad customer service. The lady on the phone wasn't clear when making an appointment and providing the plumber's insurance. She told me after 2 days calling her that the plumber's licence takes up to 72 hours (when on the beginning she said it was only a few minutes) and I have to notify the association 24 hours before, and of course, reschedule my appointment again due to her mistake. She made me waste 2 days and my time calling her. She has no idea how to deal with clients, and it is not patient and constantly interrupting me while I was trying to explain one more time my concern. Once I told her that because she made a mistake I have to reschedule, all of a sudden she decided not to provide the service. What a shame that persons like her make a company look so bad.
I am a GC and working in Miami and Miami beach for last 34 years this is a very good reliable company. I hired them to make a difficult job in South beach and they came time and time again to get job done and all inspections passed. I recommend them with no hesitations.

I'm surprised to see negative reviews for this company. I am a property manager in Miami Beach and I had lost 2 weeks with two other plumbing companies who were dragging their feet to get a permit for a water heater replacement. Empire Plumbing got the permit and did the job within 48 hours. The job was competitively priced and of very good quality. It wasn't a simple water heater because it required installing a divider between it and the AC unit above. Overall I have to say that I was very impressed with this company and plan on using them again and highly recommending them to everyone.
Empire Plumbing rips you off. I called them last week and asked for an estimate to unclog my bathroom sink. I was told it would be around $100. The next day, November 10, they came, removed the sink stopper and cleaned its bottom that was really dirty. That solved the problem and charged me $150 for a 5 minute job. They clearly ripped me off and had no interest in starting a business relationship or leave a good impression. Not to mention that they do a lot of work for the building I live in (and am on the Board of Directors), the Waverly at South Beach. If they overcharge people like that, imagine a condo Association? Horrible, bad taste in my mouth, will never use them again and advise the Waverly condominium association of their greed and lack of honesty.

A double treat: unqualified plumbers and management that does not honor their own warranty. Empire's plumber came to fix a leaking garbage disposer (which was new and just installed by a different company). The plumber said that the leak is due to wrong putty being used. He fitted correct putty and after charging $175, promised that it would not leak for many years. 11 months later, the disposer is leaking again, which had ruined my kitchen cabinet. Here is a recap of my conversations with Empire's manager - Yajaira Soto. 1. Yajaira: We never did the work. Show us the invoice. 2. I sent the invoice. Yajaira after receiving the invoice: It is not our invoice. I don't know where you got it. We can come and fix the leak but will charge you because the warranty expired. 3. Me: How long is your warranty? Yajaira: 1 year. Me: It has not been a year yet. Yajaira: We cannot help you. and on and on...
Mold problems, frustrations, ruined cabinet and underflooring, and $175 out of pocket for all these pleasantries. I absolutely recommend for you to use Empire Plumbing if you wish to receive the same treatment.
This is a horrible company and you should avoid using them. I called to make an appt the night before for a morning appt. between 9 and 11. By 10:30 I called to see when they would show up. They said they would call me right back, well, they didn't call until 1 pm. After they didn't call right back I called another company. When they called at 1 they said they called my home and work numbers, the work number I didn't instruct them to call. I had no missed calls on my other phone, so they lied. At 1 pm they said since they called me early and I didn't answer, they sent the repair guy to the next job. So, tell me, if that was the case, why didn't they tell me that at 10:30 instead of 1 pm. I will NEVER use them again.
I had a leak in my kitchen sink. I made an appointment. Dispatch said someone would be there between 11-1pm. So I waited...and waited...no one ever showed or called to say they wouldn't be coming. So I went about my day. I'm outside in the park with my dog at 2:30 and my doorman calls to tell me Empire is here...only an hour and half late and no call to warn me he's on his way. great customer service! NOT
on the plus side, he was done in 20 minutes. knew what he was doing. showed me faulty part so I knew what happened. nice guy.

Very professional plumbing company. I had a blocked drain as well as a leaky pipe in my kitchen. This was causing water to also leak onto the kitchen floor and inside then kitchen cabinet.
The plumber arrived, diagnosed the problem. He fixed it in about an hour. It involved putting a snake into the drain to clear the blockage an open up the drain which had a build up of residue after many years of usage. He also fixed the leak. What impressed me though was how careful he was to leave everything spotless. He laid a cover over the kitchen floor to protct the surface. Then one he fixed evrything he cleaned up the standing water from the floor and the cabinet, leaving the kitchen spotless.
The only reason I don't give 5 stars is I think they are expensive. They charged 275 dollars which seems a lot for a 1 hour job with no parts.
Update: After my first review giving Empire Plumbing one star, the company sent me a refund check in the amount of $125.00, the entire amount charged for the service call. They also sent a very apologetic letter (as well as a call and an email), thanking me for my comments. This was a welcome surprise; I would have been happy with a refund over the $50.00 I expected to pay. In short, I really appreciate that Empire Plumbing did what they could to make the situation right. Thank you.

My appointment window was 10-12. I took off from work. Needed a new toilet installed. They said they would call 20 minutes before they arrive. At 12 o'clock I called . The person on the phone said the plumber was running 30 minutes late. I called back at 1pm. The same lady said he should be arriving soon. At 2 pm I called she said sorry but he is not finished at his first location. Do I want to reschedule? Are you kidding me (I said) I took off work and literally waited all day. The plumber showed up at 3:15..The price quoted was $175 - $225 per item. They never gave me a final amount until he finished . Of course more then the quote $275 per toilet. Yes the plumber was good. But way to much aggravation. All the reviews are on target.

I wouldn't recommend using this company, everyday for over a week they told me that they where just about ready to produce an estimate for a pool heater connection but they never did...
Until I found someone else.
Just a complete waist of time.
I used Empire several times for plumbing issues and always had incredible service. When I purchased a new house and needed an opinion on the pipes I called them immediately. The owner called me and gave me incredible advice! He even offered to meet me at the house to devise a plan to update anything necessary. The owner is passionate and truly concerned with customer service and their reputation. A definite 5 star review and call them if you need a plumbing specialist!
Empire Plumbing is my plumber company of choice while in Miami Beach. The Office Manager, Yajaira, has been consistently responsive by telephone and email. There does not seem to be a job too big for Empire Plumbing to tackle in our condominium. Luis, the plumber, is highly skilled and knowledgeable in approaching the work. Five stars.
Previously recommended by my building (not anymore). They understand that my building only allows for a 3h window for the water shutdown. Made it very clear that they need to be there at 10am in order to install the toilet. I confirmed with them the day before and the same day at 9:30 to ensure that they're coming and will be on time. Was promised that the plumber is coming after he finishes another job, at the latest 11am. At 11:15 I called them, and they said they only have one plumber and that he is currently busy with an emergency leak. Called several more times and every time it was another excuse, and in the end nobody came. It's a total joke of a company. Especially since this happened to me 3 weeks earlier with another plumbing company and I was extremely clear about the situation, so these clowns should have known better. Don't rely on them under any circumstance if you need a plumber to come during a specific water shutdown window. They will NOT show up on time and your water shutoff will have been in vain. Take a different company that has a basic level of professionalism and where people actually want to work.
Found myself needing a plumber this past weekend due to a main line stoppage. Dispatcher was able to send me Guillermo who has been w this Co nearly 20 yrs. He arrived within the window she provided me and after a quick conversation Guillermo go to work. Ran the sewer machine and made certain everything was clear and in working order. Will be calling Empire for all my plumbing needs from now on.

I had leaks behind my wall, one was from a roof pipe and the other was from a sanitary pipe. I called Empire and was given a same day appointment. Phil came out promtly with a crew of two. He isolated the leaks and repaired them and even worked past regular work hours on a Friday afternoon. They were quick and efficient in doing the repairs.
They are straight, no nonsense guys that know their stuff. The price was resonable.and fair
I recommend strongly against using Empire. I think that they are generally honest, but simply incompetent.
Over a month ago, we called Empire to make what we thought was a simple repair. The temperature control on our Kohler shower did not work. Another faucet in another shower did not work at all. We called Empire. They sent out a rep. He he agreed it did not work. He said that parts were broken in both showers and said that they would order new parts. He took photos-but no information regarding part numbers our faucet models. He said that was unnecessary.
After some time, likely 10 days, Empire advised us that one of the parts we needed were on back order. Weeks weeks by. But finally, after a few false alarms (they sent the part the part didn't come) Empire called to tell us that the part had arrived. Their rep came out. And said it was the wrong part. It appears that the people from Empire are not sophisticated enough to order by part number. Instead, they take a picture of your plumbing, send it to the manufacturer and let the manufacturer figure out what part you need. And according to Empire, Kohler figured wrong. On both showers. That is right-after weeks of waiting, Empire was still unable to fix anything because they had ordered the wrong parts. Which I guess means that we waited because a part we did not need was on back order. As for the part we did need, Empire wanted to think that over. And of course, Empire was up for trying again. But in this entire time, nobody from Empire told us what was wrong or broken and why parts needed replacement as opposed to repair. To the extent that Empire can do more than screw in and out duplicate pieces of plumbing-they did not demonstrate any such skill here. So I decided to go with another plumber, one who could explain the problem and fix it.
Now to be fair, Empire did not charge us for any of this. But if you want a plumber who can fix your problems in a reasonable time frame as well as for a reasonable cost-look elsewhere.
South Beach Construction has been working with Al Albaz and his team at Empire Plumbing for the past 20+ years and we would not work with any other plumbing contractor. They are very reliable, dependable and very competitive. It is a family owned and operated business for over 30+ years and I highly recommend Empire Plumbing for all of your plumbing needs.

It took more then a month to get a scheduled appointment then they showed up with out a confirmation and could not do the work because the building needed to turn water off. I had sent an email to confirm and never got a reply.
Finally confirmed an appointment for 9 am today, guess what, they did not show up. I called at 9 am to ask where they we're and she said she had been out for weeks with Covid, no one there bothered to let me know they were not coming and she would not confirm if the plumber was going to come or not. By 9:30 I had to inform the condo NOT to turn off the water because the plumber blew me off.
The person who answers the phone for Empire is super rude and speaks to you as if she does not care.
I should have looked at the reviews before calling this company. The first time they came out, they charged $250 and didn't resolve my issue. They had to come out again and charged me again for the same problem that they didn't fix. I talked to the manager and she said that they don't guarantee their job and that I should have read my receipt. Wow! A company that doesn't guarantee their job!!!
I don't think there is a more reliable on time caring company in all of Miami. There is nothing bad to say at all. From the staff that answers the phone promptly to Juan Garcia who worked explaining everything along the way. Complete complete trust.. Please use them !!!!

All the drains on the ground floor of my house were backing up and with small children what a disaster it could have been. Thankfully the guys over at Empire were able to squeeze me into the schedule and ended up finding the problem and making the repair that same day. If you are looking for prompt service and want be charged a reasonable rate, look no further! Fast, reasonable, knoledgable service.
Very very bad customer service, I am very disappointed.
The technician came to my place in order to install a brand new stove and he refused to do that because the machinery was still wrap and closed in a box. He didn't ask for help, he just left.
