Joe Z serviced our air conditioner. He was very polite and courteous. Even though I told him it was not necessary to wear his shoe covers he insisted that he would as he respected my home. I would recommend Joe and the team at Cool Today for any of your air conditioning needs.

Major disappointment. ..contracted plumbing today to repipe our house and after 7000 dollars of work had a roofer hit the pex with a nail and they charged me for the repair.....should not install waterline against the roof...tech told me that it is unavoidable. ..not acceptable for a professional company

We just had our air conditioning unit and duct work re-done and from the time we had our meeting with the salesman to the time we had installation everything went very smooth and they were extremely knowledgable and took the time to answer all of our questions and it didn't seem like they were trying to sell us anything we didn't need.     I also like the fact that they email me with a picture of the service technician who will be at my house that way I know who to look for and they are always on time and completely professional.    I would highly recommend them!

I was surprised in a positive way on the ease of requesting an appointment online followed a short while later with a phone call confirming the time. Prior to the arrival of the technician, Mathew Wilburn, we received an email with both his name and photo which is a great comfort factor. While it took longer than Mathew had expected, the job was completed including cleanup. We also were able to schedule a free camera drain line inspection. They are a 24/7 company with set pricing. Just what we needed when the drain for a shower and two toilets is plugged up. Will definitely use them again IF a problem arises again.

Horrible service. Had a AC unit installed 5 years ago. It's been leaking since day one. Every time they come out they charge a service fee, but they never fix the problem. I've spent close to $700 in service charges alone. Add that to the money I've spent on repairs and it's well over $1000. I would not recommend this company at all. I'd give zero stars if I could.

Do Not depend on these guys! I was a very loyal customer for 5 years - in that time I have spent in excess of 20K with them. My kitchen sink clogged up Sunday. I called and they said they would be out on Tuesday between noon and 6PM. At 5:30 on Tuesday, I get a call that they are cancelling and asking if I want to reschedule at earliest time which is 6 days from now. Are you kidding me? I of course said no and called another plumbing company who said they would be here in an hour. Good bye Cool Today - you just lost a good customer.

Must read before any purchase!!
Having a maintenance contract was helpful, until we had a serious issue!
Had  techs out 3 times in 2 week period. All were super awesome!  Last visit a pressure test was done and a leak was revealed in receiver coils this happened on a Tuesday.
Then we realized we needed to eval a new unit VS. Repair($1600.00)

The following day Wednesday, Vince the salesman came to see us and was there 3 hours telling us all our options for replacement with new 2.5 ton unit. Using all existing wiring and plumbing.
His bids varied from $7800.00- $9000.00 for a 2.5 ton residential unit?  We have a neighbor who had his 3 ton unit from Cool Today installed 4 months ago.  He paid $5700.00 and got all the bells and whistles!!

I decided to call Vince the salesman to find out how the heck this could be possible?? He was SO offended and rude.

Over talking us, making excuses.  Our A/C was in the attic and our neighbors a closet?  Okay, an extra $200-500.00 labor for the attic?

Just so you know we tried to resolve this with the owner before this review.  Our hope was that a simple phone call showing Vince was taking advantage of our immediate need for A/C was proof with the 4 other estimates we got all $1500-2500.00 lower.

After speaking with Nicole the right hand to the owner she said, I'm going to speak with the Pres and VP right now,  this doesn't sound right  Ya think?!
Never heard back from Nicole on Friday. Even though they have my email, my husband's number and email not a word, EXCEPT from Vince the Salesman sending us new bids, each a couple hundered less than the initial one. What a joke!

Monday I get a call from call from Nicole. She let's me know she has been unable to get the bids from our Salesman Vince for review??? Odd, as he was able to pull up our neighbors from 4 months ago to argue the $ difference?

All of Cool Todays bids still well over $1800.00 more than the 4 estimates I got on Friday.

Its Monday and its been 6 days no A/C and not a single call from our contracted company. Pathetic!

Thanks to Coastal A/ C and Pat who came
out and helped us today, we now have A/C.  They even brought us a portable unit for over the weekend so we could survive the summer heat!

To think we have a contract with Cool Today and the over the past 8 months have referred  so many people.

BEWARE!!! USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!

Heard they have  been sold to a large company. Clearly they dont care about the consumer any longer!   Well, Jaime guess you wont be on TV anymore....what a shame...NOT!

Last year we completely retiled our home. As a result, we were left with a great deal of fine dust on our walls and in our ducts.

We decided to have our ducts cleaned but needed an extremely thorough job to get to all that fine dust. We then solicited bids from 3 local vendors to clean the duct, the blower/handler and the dryer vent.

We chose Cool Today. They were the most expensive bid (by a considerable amount). But they were the most thorough in their assessment of what we needed done.

Their Sales Consultant, Pete Franciosi, came to the house and spent 45 minutes inspecting and analyzing what we needed. He then recommended a series of customized (hand written) expenditures for services based on what he found during his inspection. He explained each so we understood and did not press us to purchase any or all of his recommendations. We signed and scheduled all the services recommended.

On the day of our services, two very professional technicians arrived, on time. Chris Norris and Ron White. Both were very pleasant and knowledgeable about what they were going to do at our home. At 9AM they predicted that with everything we needed done they would be here 5 1/2 to 6 hours. As they worked on our home they took time to explain what they were doing and gave helpful suggestions to maintain our system post the cleaning. To our surprise, Pete showed back up to inspect the work and to see if we were satisfied. You rarely see the Sales Consultant come back. In the end, we were completely satisfied we chose Cool Today!

I had no problem scheduling an appointment for an HVAC replacement evaluation.  The tech arrived and did a review.  But then...I never heard from him again!  After a few days, I called the service number and the customer service rep said she would leave a message for the tech to come back with the estimate/proposal for the replacement.  After a few more days, I emailed the tech directly.  Never got a response, so I had to move on.  I wasted a week and the time to have the tech over.

I called bc my AC went out on a Friday night and my reg AC guys don't work on the weekend. I was told there was an $89 fee to come out on weekends. No prob.  The tech showed up and determined the module was shot but luckily he had one on the truck. He informed me that he dumpster dives for parts, and he had a used module that would get the system up and running. 20 mins later my system was blowing cool. But when he handed me the bill I was shocked. $384. for a part he got out of a dumpster which took about 10 mins to install! When I questioned it I was told the computer sets the price. Wait what? He also informed me they have the highest prices in town. Caveat Emptor!

PlumbingToday Mr. Nathan Lustica and Mr. Josh
On 8/15/2022 Mr. Nathan Lustica and Mr. Josh were scheduled to be at our home in a timeframe from 12 PM -to- 6 PM; and they arrived around 2 PM. Upon their arrival they did a quick assessment of the problem, identified the need to procure additional parts and advised they would be back within an hour and a half; they returned in just under an hour.

They went to work and stayed on task until both of our toilets were rebuilt which under the TotalCare Club Membership is covered both in labor and in parts. The work area was left as clean as it was before they started their work.

We also had a potential problem with our water softener to which Mr. Lustica provided his input to include what to watch out for as I ran our diagnostics on the water softener.

Mr. Lustica and Mr. Josh demonstrated their expertise in the plumbing area, maintained a professional demeanor coupled with a friendly attitude during the time in our home; this coupled with a very friendly approach and handling of our two Fur Kids who were excited to have visitors, showed their excitement, which was met with care towards our Fur Kids.

Just had our units serviced as part of our maintenance agreement and things went perfectly. I was super stressed having someone in my home during this COVID crisis, but Chris was wearing an N95 mask, shoe covers and sterilizing his hands a lot etc. He was super vigilant which we certainly appreciated!

When I called for an electrician and Michael manibusan arrived he was very polite and most of all approachable. When I need an electrician in the future I will ask if Michael manibusan can serve me from cool today energy today, thanks mike

My mailbox/lamp needed to be connected electrically by the lamp, so I really needed the job done and when Alberto showed up by himself which I was informed this was going to take two people, so the other electrician hadn't shown up yet either, late about 30 minutes I was not happy but I've waited two weeks to get this work done. Alberto did the job by himself because he said it didn't need two people, I was glad because the second electric didn't show up until a few hours later, I also hope we don't have any more problems with the lamp. The mailbox kept tripping and the last time the gfi wouldn't reset so that's why Alberto was here today. If not for Alberto showing up late he would have gotten five stars because I'm big on punctuality. If I have to wait two weeks to get my mailbox lamp connected the least I can get on time performance. Thanks energy today for sending Alberto, I will definitely have him over again

It has been over a year and a half now that Cool Today installed my AC.  It did not pass inspection by the St Petersburg Building department.  I finally threatened to report them to the BBB and the Attorney General's office.  They at least got them back out to my house to reinstall the compressor and make changes required by the St Petersburg building departments.  It has now been over a 2 months that I have been waiting for Cool Today to get my AC inspected.  I get excuses like, I have never had to work with the building department so I don't know what to do, the person that first installed your equipment no longer works here, the building department won't call me back, etc.  The kicker is this, I have spent approximately $50,000 with Cool today on electrical, plumbing and HVAC and I can't get anyone to resolve my issue.  You can't sell a house with an open permit.  I have asked to speak to the owner but all the young lady on the phone would do is correct my pronunciation of his name.  I called again today since I have not received an update in two weeks, I asked for Victoria who has been my contact and once again she is not available.  I told the young lady on the phone today I was going to post this on Yelp.  She quickly said to hold on and would connect me to their quality care department.  After being on hold for 5 minutes she came back and said no one was available and they would need to call me back (not today of course.)

We got a total re-plumbing for a lot of money over a year ago appears to be a leak and holes never patched.  So many calls and scheduled appointments with no shows.. the holes were covered by decorations.  Dishonest and a big regret with the money we spent.

I reached out to Plumbing Today after seeing an ad on TV for drain clearing services. I went on their website and read the same about their drain clearing service.  When I called to make an appointment (I had a slow sink drain) I was told they are only making appointments for customers with whom they have a contract. Seriously? A Tab ad, plus the website, and no mention of this? What a waste of my time.

The weekend passed and Cool Energy had a tech at my door at 10 am.  He removed the thermostat, and we definitely would have broken it had we attempted to remove it, did the reset, and we were almost immediately able to register the unit and use the iPhone app to set the temperature while either at home or away.  That's service.

When I tried to pair my phone to the Carrier thermostat, it wouldn't take.  I went on line then to enter the required information to discover my thermostat had never been registered with Carrier.  If I wanted to do so them the thermostat had to be removed from the wall, and I would have to do some sort or hard reset to program it.  Sorry, unacceptable.  My advice, do not, DO NOT let the installation people leave until they have made sure your phone is paired.  Why would you spend the money on an expensive part of the equipment, to find out out it won't work properly?

Had to replace a A/C system and really tried to get competitive bids from several companies as I wanted some choice before a significant outlay of cash.  It was not an easy choice as I was surprised at the professionalism of the representatives who came to present estimates. We finally decided on Cool Today and a Carrier 17 Seer system after John D. . . did his presentation.  The installers arrived on the agreed day at about 8:30 am and worked until about 6:30 pm getting the install completed.  Both installers were excellent and I believe they left my garage cleaner then when they arrived.  And when I state replaced, I mean everything including new copper pipes. They also went into the attic to do some work on the ductwork to insure that the air would be distributed evenly throughout the house. They succeeded. First time every room has been cool since I bought this house new some 12 years ago. Getting an entire system replaced isn't inexpensive; this was a tad over $10,000.  So you want to be as sure as you can you are dealing with a reputable company. We are happy with our choice and you can be sure if anything goes south, I will post an update.

I've found their air conditioning techs to know their stuff but the customer service is actually HORRIBLE! Our 2 year old unit went out last night and when I called for service was told it would take 2 days. I thought having purchased their service agreement we would get priority service as promised but I guessed not. My wife is asthmatic and we had to find somewhere to stay for 2 nights. I requested to have someone from their management team to call, I'm still waiting. This isn't the first time that they've been unresponsive in getting back to us, it seems they've gotten too big for their own good and can't handle it. I recommend to anyone looking for an air conditioning company that is fast and reliable to look elsewhere.

Yeah!  A live, friendly and articulate person answered the phone and answered all my questions and set an appointment for my Tankless Water Heater Maintenance for 48 hours later.  Then a professional and friendly young man named Jon showed up right on time and did a fast, efficient, and excellent job descaling/cleaning the system.

Plus, Jon was the ideal professional.  He covered his shoes and was so polite.  He was pleasant to talk with, not too much and not too little - just right.  He shared relevant and helpful information about water and plumbing that will be necessary for future reference.  He was no pressure, while being interesting and engaging.

As a result, I'll be calling on Plumbing Today (part of Cool Today company) in the future for any/all plumbing related questions and will look forward to trusting Jon with the work.

Thank you!

I called to schedule an appointment with a plumber regarding an issue with my water heater. Apparently everything was normal thankfully, Miguel was our plumber. Very knowledgeable, friendly and explained everything in detail. I called about 12pm on a Friday, and I was able to get a plumber in the next 2-3 hours it was really great. They text/call when on the way, even send you a text to let you know they are heading over and what time you can expect them, they also include a photo of the tech to let you know who you should be expecting. After the appointment they send me a detail email with all the information, photos taken of my heater unit.
It was a dispatch fee of $59 which was just for Miguel to take a look at the possible issue, this was payed at the conclusion of the appt.
this did not include actually doing an more in-depth job, but it wasn't necessary for my home.
I knew that's what I needed, and glad to have received the information I needed.
Miguel also informed me of the difference packages they offer which can be beneficial for maintenance, I opted to not get it at the moment, since I rather try out their labor services first. It was my first time receiving service from this company and hope that it continues going forward if/when needed in the future.

Trevor and Issac were excellent! They showed up on time, work efficiently and effectively. They were polite and courteous and extremely knowledgable about their work. They protect your home floors and left everything nice and clean. They explained how the unit works and the required maintenance. The equipment they use is like no other equipment I have every seen an air conditioning company use. Top of the line equipment. I would highly recommend them as technicians and also CoolToday. I have never been so happy with an air conditioning unit. Thank you Trevor and Issac! GLADYS

Cool Today serviced my air conditioner today arriving at exactly the time they said they would arrive and completing the work in the time they said they would. Joe Zagorski was the technician and patiently explained to me and my wife exactly what he found and want needed to be repaired. He pointed out that since we have service plan a, the service call, was a no charge service call and the repair part was highly discounted which he had in his truck. As soon as the repair was completed, we noticed the difference almost immediately. Highly recommend this company.

Cool Today, Energy Today continues to be our company of choice. They are efficient, responsive, professional and not pressure salesmen. Joe, of Energy Today, did a thorough and complete electrical inspection and took the time to carefully explain the potential pitfalls that could occur with a house greater than 10 years old. He provided options for us to consider, should we choose to do so. I have recommended this company to many people.

New Review:
Today, Brandon came out from Plumbing Today to make a minor adjustment on one of our toilet flushers.  He was extremely courteous and neat and adjusted our challenge in no time. As always, it's a real pleasure to deal with this company!

New Review:
Our bi-yearly AC maintenance check was done today by Edwin. Edwin is an outstanding technician who exudes friendliness and a sense of caring while displaying confidence in that which he does. Cool Today maintains our home for many years and advises when things need to be replaced or fixed but does not push the customer to simply 'buy and replace' unless absolutely necessary. They go out of their way to explain all options and are never pushy in their sales. We always ask for Edwin, who has earned our trust. As always, we highly recommend this company !

Review of 7/30/17:
There is a reason why we have contracted with Cool Today for over 10 years! Their responsiveness and professionalism is second to none! The owner takes great pride in his company and sends background information p, a photo and license information immediately prior to each visit. Today, on a Sunday, one of our AC units ceased to work. Mike was sent out to assess and fix our problem. What an incredibly wonderful, pleasant, polite and knowledgeable individual! He identified and fixed our challenge, explained everything clearly and concisely, and left us with a much cooler home. We recommend Cool Today and Michael to anyone who has AC needs.

10/13/17- John of Plumbing Today was very professional, courteous, neat, timely and knowledgeable. He fixed our plumbing challenge with a smile . As always, it is a delight to deal with Cool Today, Plumbing Today and Energy Today!

I have been a loyal customer for almost 9 years and have purchased / installed two units in primary and rentals homes.  I have spent thousands with Cool Today.

Over the years, I booked my service appointments back-to-back.  My previous tech was excellent.  When she left last year, I requested a tech that she recommended.  I made the appointments 6 months out to ensure that she would be our tech, but that did not happen.

The person who was sent instead was nice, but not the most experienced.  After he left yesterday, I discovered at 8 PM  that the thermostat was not getting power and AC was not working. I called Cool Today to report the problem and was informed that I would not see a tech until the next day.
The tech who returned to remedy the problem was the tech who I had the day prior.  He checked the system and what he thought was the remedy did not work.  He finally took the mechanics apart and after several calls to other techs (and according to him) there was a pinched wire that was shorting out. Clearly,  it was his fault because before he left yesterday he did not do a final check.  Also, he neither apologized nor acknowledged that it was his mistake in the first place.

BTW, I purchased 2 UV light systems yesterday totaling over $2,100.00.  The cost used to be HALF that.  Their pricing exorbitant and service packages are a rip off as well.  Filters for life are now not included except the most expensive.

Live and learn I will not be returning and I will no longer recommend them.

The toilet at my parents house (dad is over 80 and mom is in her 70's) wasn't getting water from the valve into the basin. I arrived a few minutes before the repairman from Cool Today showed up so I didn't have any time to look at the toilet. The repairman looked at the situation and came out and informed my parents that they needed a toilet. The quote he gave us was shocking, $964 to replace a toilet! I was floored. I asked why so expensive. He said labor and the valve needs replacing. Thankfully my mother caught onto this and said she was going to get a few other estimates. My dad though said just fix it. Looking at my mother I shook my head no. Once the repairman realized they weren't going to have him repair it he said he could now do it for $730 and he'll waive the cost of the valve ($230 for the valve??) and that it would only take him about an hour. He got frustrated and said the quote is only good for 24 hours. I looked up the cost of a biscuit colored toilet and they're $199 and up. So he was going to charge $765 to install a toilet and then lowered it to $564 to close the sale. Not bad for an hours work. Low and behold I was able to get the water running into the toilet once he left. All they needed was a new float and internal parts. $24 at Home Depot. Shame on you Cool Today. Terrible. Shameful to prey on older people. I'll make sure to tell everyone I know too as will my parents. They didn't need a new toilet or valve. Blatant price gouging and taking advantage of elderly people. I'm just glad I was there. How many other elderly people are they preying on that are having these items repaired at ridiculous prices because they don't have anywhere else to go?

I had two clogs I needed taken care of and a loose faucet I needed tightened. He unclogged one, not the other and told me his only job was to fix clogs, so he couldn't tighten up my faucet in the kitchen sink. I find it hard to believe that it's not a plumbers job to fix a loose faucet.

Recent bi-yearly maintenance visit revealed a weakened dual capacitor
in the outdoor condenser. Gave us a price of $144.00. System was working fine but decided to replace the weak part myself. Found exact part on Amazon for $10.00! That's quite a mark up. Same with the UV lights they always recommend. Over $500 for theirs, $100 on the internet .Also easy to install. Pricey, pricey.

If you want sewer dripped through your house and plumbers trying to hide up this fact but confessing after questioning then this is your place. If you also want place that makes multiple repeat visits and leaves sewer handprints on your nice white walls, then this is your place. If you want them leaving sewer wrenches on your bathroom sink wear you wash your face, then this is your place. If you want them not to seal the toilet and spells of sewage coming up to feel the entire house, then this is your place. This is got to be the worst plumbing company we have ever encountered. And unfortunately the airbnb we were staying at kept using them repeatedly. Stay away!

Had an AC part go out and didn't want to risk going another day waiting on part to be delivered from Amazon so called this company.  They came out the next day so that was great but they were late showing up for their already large window of time. The service tech was on his phone the entire time talking to friends.  They charged me $400 for a $20 piece and 20 min of time...and that's being generous on the time.  However, the worst part was the high pressure sales for a maintenance contract and other services they suggested.  As if after you price gouged me for such a simple repair I would consider signing up for a contract with your company?!?  You got me for this repair but that's the last dime you'll make off of me.  If you had been fair about pricing I prob would have joined but, due to my experience, I just signed up for a maintenance contact with another company.

This is quite possibly the worst company in Sarasota that you could choose to do business with - in any industry.

Their salesperson overpromised and flat out lied to my wife and me about their services, the products, and what we would receive.

Their installer failed to install some of the services we had contracted for and, when we asked about it, said we didn't need it and that we had simply been snowed by their salesperson.  We got caught in between that internal spat for weeks since those departments appear to absolutely hate each other.

Their installer personally signed (in the customer's spot) on our service work order.  This was the signature line underneath the statement that We, the customer, certify we are completely happy with the installation.  I assume he did this because it was obvious we weren't happy that we weren't getting the services in the contract.

When I later told the company how unhappy we were, they tried to force this signed service order down our throats.  That didn't work once we pointed out it wasn't our signature on there but was clearly the installer's signature (and his actual name) instead of ours.  In fact, we were never even presented with this document to read or sign.

For our new system install (3 new systems) it took 2 months and 6 total appointments to get all the kinks worked out so that our new systems would operate without shutting themselves off randomly.  Of course, they had promised a 1-day delivery, so 60 days is a bit longer than that.  And, of course, it failed county inspection.

We're now 6 months into our new system and, while the systems themselves are operating, the maintenance agreement they so heavily sell you on is now proving to be worthless.  Worse than worthless, the tech (who canceled twice on us) just fell while he was in our attic, cracking our ceiling.  Believe it or not, he even tried to leave without telling us about that.  He claimed to my wife that it was too difficult to get into our attic and it would have happened to anyone.  Oddly, an entire crew pulled an old system out of that attic, installed a new system, and went up and down again for 6 more appointments, plus an additional two appointments from the county inspector - all without incident.

I would do anything to have never called this company.  In our experience, they appear to be a complete and total scam, having fouled up everything they attempted to do (multiple times).  If I had more time, I would work to get this company, their lies, and their fraudulent business practices exposed.  If I can help even one customer avoid this nightmare, it was worth writing this review.

Had AC go out 1am and called these nice folks, not only did they answer they were out the next day and had my issue resolved in no time at all!! Steve was an awesome young man, very knowledgeable and fast. Bonus, wore a mask and social distanced. Saved Father's Day for my 91 year old disabled vet who was also very pleased with the service When it s time for a service contract, I'm going to sign with this company!!

Also had a clogged pipe and they cleared it super fast a month or so ago so cheers to the plumbing as well as the AC guys

I left a contact us form on their website during off hours. I expected a call once they opened. Within 2 minutes of sending the email, they called and sent an email with an appointment scheduled. The day of, the technician called about 10 minutes before the start if my time block, to say he'd be there in 15 minutes. He was right on time. He arrived, quickly figured out the problem, and actually gave me a few options for future remedy. (The last time I had this issue, the guy (different company), just got it working-- no sort of plan whatsoever)...I will certainly call cool today for all of my ac needs! (And I will request the same tech to do the work)...

This place was a joke - They called to make an appointment after I did a service request. I told her we have a bad fill valve on the toilet an we need it replaced. She said no problem. I asked her is that something they will have on the truck - she replied yes. Brian arrived and I told him we needed a new fill valve - he goes to his truck and come back with 3 estimates ranging form $600 to $900 telling me they DON'T REPLACE VALVES - they just swap out the toilet. What a joke. I can go to Home Depot and replace it for $20. I just didn't want to be bothered -- so I wasted $49 for a service call that was him giving no service and not telling me anything except trying to sell me something I don't need. He really just wanted to push service plans that I didn't want because we are moving in a week. Never again would I trust or call this company.  They obviously are not environmentally friendly either if they were willing to fill up a landfill with a perfectly good toilet just to make a few bucks!.  Beware of these con artists!

I described the work over the phone to the receptionist who told me it would be $59 to come out. He arrived with a $325 bill and said I would owe $59 just for coming out and doing nothing, or $325. I felt very cheated. I had the part and described the work and was told $59, he had a $325 bill for me before he got out of the truck. So they knew the price without looking at the problem and mislead me. I will never use them again.

I have been a service contract customer of theirs for three years and when I needed anything other than routine maintenance out comes the razor and they try to skin me. The first time was for a bad capacitor which they wanted to charge me $150.00 for when the part cost me $12.50 and took me 10 minutes to change. The next and last time, they wanted $1,128.00 to swap out an evaporator coil. That was not including the coil which was under the original manufacturers warranty. That price was just to pull the system down, swap the coil, make the connections and charge the system. Fortunately, I work in a parallel business, commercial building controls, and have a good understanding of what is required and also have people who are more than willing to flag a rip off when they hear about it.

I have been a customer on the Cool side for about a dozen years. However, I got an estimate for a leaky faucet that was absurd and they told me I needed a new faucet and tried to scam me. There is no other word for it. Their justification of we have a higher quality product rang hollow. On top of the scam price, they said they would give me 10% off if I purchased their service package, as if the first price wasn't bad enough. When I called another local plumber, the part PT had claimed needed to be replaced DID NOT need replacing and they replaced a worn out part. I ended up paying a fraction of the price they were trying to take me for. I will be pulling my AC contract from them as well because I can no longer trust anything they say. They've been trying to sell me a new AC unit since mine was 8 years old. They are more interested in high-priced sales than honest service.

Obviously you don't care about your customers.  And it's apparent that your managers and ownership do not care as well.  We never heard from anyone when we contacted you previously below, and I doubt that we will hear from anyone this time as well.

We recently had our drain waste lines jetted by you about 3 weeks ago.  We asked you to help us solve the drain waste problem with our home.  No one followed up afterwards to recommend any remediation or potential fixes or remedies for the drain lines continuing to clog. We just keep calling for you to come and clear the lines each time they clog. I'm getting to the end of my rope with your company. Your service is POOR at best. Your people, especially your managers and owners, are unreliable and untruthful. I will begin my search for a new company to service my home(s) and businesses. You obviously are simply concerned only about the money.  So sad that you have to beg companies to do what they say they will do when you sign up for the A plan or whatever it is you call it.  We have never once questioned what we pay, or have paid you (even though no one seems to take the time to check that out, or our history with your company).  All we ask is that you do the job.  And now, you are not even doing the job, not the mention not following up to help us resolve the problem.   And now, we are waiting for a plumbing tech who will likely arrive here sometime around midnight or 1 a.m.  thanks to the poor job that your company is doing.  And once again, we will have another invoice to pay to you.  And once again you will promise to get someone out here to help to resolve the issues, and once again, you won't.

Jamie (owner), Although I doubt seriously that I will hear back from you personally, or even one of your managers who can actually change anything for the better, I have some concerns about where your company was regarding customer service, a couple of years ago, versus where it is now. My wife and I are starting to re-think our decision to go with your company to service both of our homes in Sarasota and in Port Charlotte, with all 3 of your company lines a couple of years back. It seems that over the last several scheduled appointments, including today, each time someone calls me from your office on the day of the appointment to say that we can't keep our appointment date and time, ..... , for whatever reason, usually blaming it on a technician calling in, or quitting, or some other reason. Still your company, still your responsibility. It's costs my wife and I a significant amount of money each time we take a day off of work for scheduled work to be completed by your company. Then your company caller expects us to schedule another time off of work, for your work to be completed. Thus, costing us another day of work missed, and costing us more money. This didn't seem to be the case a couple of years ago when you encouraged us to go on the A plan, which we did. I thought there was a benefit to that program at the time. That part doesn't seem to matter much to you these days, other than the money I spend with you each year. My wife and I are going to start looking for another provider of these 3 services that you are providing to us. I was so hoping to keep them all in one place. One call, one company, makes it easy for my whole family. But, if I can't depend on your company to keep your appointments and your word, then it serves me no purpose to stay with you or your organization. Each missed appointment on your part is now costing me double or triple what it would have cost me in the first place because of the time I'm having to take off of work. I'm sure losing one customer doesn't mean much to you personally, as it will have zero effect on your life. However, if you think back, even for a minute or two, to the days when one customer, or one appointment, meant the difference between having a successful or profitable week and not having a profitable week. Or when customer service actually meant something to you, rather than just a catch phrase to attract more customers, then maybe it would mean something more to you now. How quickly we forget those early days. Disappointing ....... very disappointing.

Josh the company appointment dispatcher was rude and cancelled three times my appointments The past year.  His arrogance gave no empathy to my needs as a client.  No new appointment date was given as an alternative except to inform me my appointment has been cancelled last minute. I have complained to their quality assurance dept and have also decided to stop using them and selected another more reliable AC/heat company.   Buyer beware with Cool Today. if you set up an appointment, expect no show or last minute cancellations.  There are many other much better companies to chose from.

5 star rating is indeed as good as it gets. Because they are.
Cool today wants you happy.

New a/c installed a year ago. Free annual maintenance 2+ hours checking all.
Amy was very professional and attentive. When I said 2 rooms didn't seem to be cooling better after some additional duct work we did at installation they scheduled a tech to come up the next day.

Tech spent over an hour and identified the issue. He is getting back to the initial salesman to go over possible solutions. I love a company where sales to techs to scheduling to maintenance all work together for the customer.

We needed a water heater installed. When I asked what their hourly rate was, I was told that there wasn't one, but the plumber would tell us what it would cost when he arrived. I asked for a range and was told again that the plumber would have to tell us the price. The fee to come out was $59, but that was waived if we had the work done. Because we have an unusual size heater (a lowboy, which is short), I asked if the plumber would have one. When I was told that he wouldn't, I asked if we could have one here that he would install and was told that would be fine. We set a time the next day for the install. The people I talked to on the phone were very nice and when I made a point to say that nobody would be home until that time, the woman said that it was noted.

I worked for a plumbing company for many years and knew that this would be a very simple install. It is in an open area on a ground floor with no stairs or other issues. The normal install for this would be about an hour and a half, plus or minus for travel time, etc. I was told by another company that install would run around $200-250, but they were not available for several days. That seemed about right at an average of $100/hr. plus whatever PVC fittings were needed.

I went out of town and left someone in his 70s who clearly knows nothing about plumbing to be there for the install. First the plumber called me significantly before the appointment time (I am not sure if it was 1 1/2 hours or 2 1/2 hours as I was travelling and time zones changed) saying he was on his way. I called back and left a message that nobody would be there until the scheduled time. About a half hour later I got a how did we do e-mail survey.

I later got a receipt for $573.98 and assumed it meant that the plumber was not able to install our heater and drain pan and had to supply one. Nope.

I am not sure how long he was there. The person there thought it was maybe an hour and a half. The receipt came two hours after the no earlier than appointment time, so it was definitely no more than that.

I thought there must be a mistake, so I called and asked for a breakdown of the bill as the invoice just had the flat rate. I got sent another copy of the same invoice. At one point I was sent a sheet, handwritten by the plumber at our home, quoting water heaters that they would supply as well as install. They ranged from $1,423 installed for a heater with the same specs and warranty as the one we supplied (which cost us $350 plus their installation) to nearly $3,000.

I called numerous times over the next few weeks trying to get the breakdown. The plumbing manager or somebody else was always supposed to be sending it in a day or two. Eventually I talked to the Customer Relations Manager on a Friday, who said she would have it for me either that day or the next Monday. After another week of nothingness I called her back. She said she would call me back and did. In that call she gave me this breakdown: $200 trip charge, $300 labor, $75 parts. I asked again for this to be in writing and said that I was told and their web site indicates a waivable $59 trip charge. She said the pricing was from the book. I asked why I was not given these book prices when I initially asked for an estimate.

I then got this e-mail from her:

When we spoke I gave you what I believe the breakdown was off the top of my head, I did not have the actual numbers in front of me. I also stated that I was probably off which is why I got with the Plumbing Managers.    They provided me with the breakdown listed below.

Cost Breakdown
$373 Parts and Labor
$141 Overhead
$59 Profit

$573.98 total  Standard Pricing for a Non Plan-holder.  If customer was a Plumbing Service Plan holder a 10% discount would have been given.  If customer was a Plumbing Service Plan Plus Plan-holder he would have received a 20% discount.
As I also let you know our company does a flat rate pricing and does not do an itemized list.

This is B.S. for many reasons. First, the only way for parts and labor to be $373 is for the plumber to be paid way, way more than a journeyman plumber gets, even with benefits. As a CPA I understand the need to cover overhead and provide a decent profit, but these numbers just don't add up.

If they have a flat fee, they have a flat fee. I get that. If they want to charge a ridiculously high flat fee, that is their choice, but when a customer calls and asks how much it will cost, they should get that number. They shouldn't be told that the plumber will tell you when he or she arrives.

I am concerned about how they arrive at this number. Does everyone get charged nearly $600 to install a small water heater, or only elderly or clueless people? Does the rate depend on how difficult the install will be (and I heard about some really difficult ones when I worked for a plumbing company), which is fair, or does it depend on who answers the door?

I would love to hear from others who used them for this.

Our A/C went out on a Sunday afternoon and we were so happy to reach someone who could help us get service.  We were offered a Sunday evening appointment but because it wasn't an emergency situation we said we would be happy to wait until Monday.  An appointment was scheduled and we were told that we would be contacted in the morning to let us know the general time our technician would arrive.  I had not heard anything by 11 am, so I called to confirm that we were on the schedule.  The customer service person said she could not give me any information about our appointment time but assured me that we could expect a notification call 45 minutes prior to the technicians' arrival.  By 4 pm, I was still waiting.  I made my second call to your customer service department. At that time, I was informed that since we had been given an evening appointment we should expect our technician to arrive some time after 6pm. I was held hostage my entire day off.  Our technician arrived shortly after 6 pm.  He was the sole reason that we will continue to do business with your company.  Your customer service is pathetic.  This is not the first time we have felt this way....it is your very knowledgeable, polite and professional technicians that keep us loyal to your company. I am rating your company 3-stars because your customer service is so terrible.  If the rating was based only upon the actual repair service, you'd receive 5-stars.  Thank you, Pedro M.  Cool Today is lucky to have you!

My air conditioner died and got quite a few estimates.  Cool today was the most knowledgeable of what we needed The salesman had information prepared before he arrived for the estimate.  He was the only person who entered my home with footcovers and gave me an estimate within a few hours while the others took days. .   We also got the air ducts cleaned, and they were EXTREMELY professional and courteous.  They asked if it was ok to park the truck in my driveway and when I had to leave, they moved the truck immediately.  I would highly recommend the Sarasota office!!!

There aren't enough words to describe how grateful we are for the outstanding response and service we received yesterday from their electrician Mike Manibusan and office receptionist Glenda. They both demonstrated that Taking Care of People (TCP) is more than just a company slogan, it's a philosophy that the employees live by. Around 4 in the afternoon on Saturday the lights in one section of the house went out as we were setting up for a big 60th Birthday Party celebration that started at 7 pm. It was thundering, raining and the sun was rapidly setting. The lights involved included the lanai and part of the dining/living room area. I called and explained to Glenda the situation and she was very emphatic. Even though it was last minute and they were booked with other customers, they made it happen and fit us in.  Mike who was very friendly and reassuring, got right to work to diagnose and fix our problem. We had lights back on just as the first guests were arriving. I am very appreciative and did share my experience with my friends at the party. I will highly recommend this company!

OVERPRICED & UNPROFESSIONAL!
They charged my mother in law $275 just to replace some seals on her bathroom faucet. They came back a second time and charged $343 to install her kitchen faucet (she already had the faucet and it only took 15 min to complete the job) And it wasn't even done perfectly...there was a kink in the hose that we fixed easily for her. I'm not sure if they are taking advantage of the elderly or are always this overpriced but regardless...it's awful. We called to question the charges for her and were given the run around. Every person we were sent to was unavailable and we were only able to leave messages through an answering service. SO...we went to the office in person. No one there could answer our query but we were assured someone would call us to discuss. That was 2 weeks ago. Since then we have left multiple messages, none to be returned. Consider yourself warned.

Had a brand new AC unit installed in 2013 by another company. When it seemed to break down, I found their number was disconnected and website was down. I was mad because the unit is barely 6 1/2 years old and should have been under warranty. I called Cool Today and mentioned the name of the company that installed my unit- turns out that company happened to be bought out by Cool Today! They sent a tech out right away and it turned out my fan motor has gone out. Unfortunately this was discovered late on a Friday afternoon. There was just a tiny bit of confusion as they confirmed that the part and labor was still under warranty, but nothing major. Anytime two companies merge it might take a few extra minutes to figure out things like that. On Monday the tech was here right on time and fixed the part literally within one hour. There was no mess and no noise, and the poor guy has to scrunch up in a really small crawl space. The tech's name was Jordan and he was polite, efficient, professional, and personable.

My tenants are having a plumbing issue (leak and backup) so I call on a Saturday to make an appointment for Sunday. Plumbing Today asks what time of day and I say later in the day would be best. They say they can come between 4-6 pm.

Sunday morning (while asleep) I get two messages from the technician: one saying he's on his way and another that no one is home. My tenants did not come to the door because it was 8am and they were sleeping.

I call the technician back explaining that our apt was for the late afternoon (who schedules a plumber at 8am on Mother's Day?!) and he recommends I call the office. The office was surprised to hear that I had been given a time frame and says they usually don't  give one (WHAT? Is anyone ok with waiting around for 11 hours never knowing when the plumber will show up??) but assures me someone will come by between 4-6pm since they already promised it.  My husband leaves a family event  early to make sure the plumber can get access/get paid and I tell my tenants to be expecting someone. No one ever comes.

If i could give negative stars I would.  Incompetent f***ing company.

We chose a different company to replace our air conditioning system. I am disappointed that you charged $800.00 for the coolant, should have been half that price for that small condo unit. We are in Texas and we feel you took advantage of the situation. We recently spent $350 with Cool Today, Pluming Today, Energy Today and that did no good. Our air was running perfectly well prior to that.

Finally, even after all of your discounts, you said you gave us, shown on the quote to replace the air conditioning system, we are getting the same thing and warranty for a lot less, a lot less.

They are terrible at providing customer service and complains. We had a technician Edward Sanchez come by and look at our AC 4/16/2021. He said it would be fine if we fixed the AC. So we went ahead and spent the last of our stimulus money on fixing it. The very next day the AC wouldn't cool the home 4/17/2021. So we had another technician look at it named Ryan Van Alstyne 4/19/2021. Who told us that our AC was broken and would cost $900 to fix it. He recommended that our AC unit would keep giving us problems. Mind you we already spent a quarter of the cost of a 14 row AC. I have called and called numerous times since April 19th and we have yet to receive any calls back. That they promised me. It seems that they do not want to contact us to provide us a refund nor a guaranteed Credit within the 30 day period they promised us. I would highly not recommend this establishment.

Unfortunately we had 3 other companies out to maintain out AC systems in the past 10 years. When our system finally went, we got 4 quotes for a new AC system. Cool Today President Jaime DiDomenico says he serves the company's 244 other employees...but his company won't service the product Cool Today installed... also bought a service agreement that they won't honor.

Cool Today installed a Carrier A/C system in 2020. It is still under warranty and they won't service it and won't respond to an emergency service calls that it it NOT working. When we call for service (6 times) we are told no one is available. NO EMERGENCY SERVICES FOR CUSTOMER UNIT STILL UNDER WARRANTY??? Cool Today sure wanted my money.

ZERO STAR REVIEW! Had them come fix toilet that wasn't flushing on a Wednesday. He left saying it was fixed but that evening it wasn't working again. They couldn't send anyone out til Friday to look at it & he immediately said he doesn't have the tools with him to fix the clog!
Then we hear they can't send anyone out Saturday since they're all booked. Called to complain & was routed to answering service where we were told we could receive a call Sunday. Not an appt just a call.
Holiday weekend and they may not be able to come back til following Tuesday!
Who sends a plumber out for service call without tools to fix a clogged toilet!!

BUYER BEWARE!  I had an appt from 3-6pm scheduled for today for an estimate.  Patrick didn't call until after 6:30 and said he would be there in 45min.  He arrived at 7:20pm.  I took him inside to show him the upstairs air conditioner.  He started putting his stuff down aroud the downstairs and I said we could go out to the garage.  I showed him the unit in the garage and then he went to look out the outside units (in the dark since he came after our appt time).  I asked if he could do the estimate in the car and then call me and I could ask him questions.  He said no.  I told him if it was daylight I would do it outside where it would be sunny, but now it's dark and cold.  He said he's not just there for numbers and he takes about 90min because this is the most important thing you'll buy.  I told him I knew what I needed two 2.5ton units because I've already talked to other companies.  I told him we are high risk for covid so I like to stay outside and asked what the difference was if we talked from his car or standing there.  He said its not the same and wanted to reschedule.  I told him I didn't want to because I had already spent several hours waiting for him to be there.  I said Ok then let's do it and asked him what we needed to do and he literally said I'd rather just walk away.  I asked him to do it and he said no.  So first he wouldn't do it from the car and then he wouldn't do it in the garage either.  I asked to call his manager which he did but maybe no one answered?  I told him I would call the manager and also write a review about the company, and he then told me to say that he was trying to help me.  I replied, You literally said you wouldn't do it.  And he walked out and I shut the garage door!  What a waste of time!  By the way, I don't know if he was trying to make himself look like he did his job if the company checked on him, but he sat in my driveway for half an hour.  Then he drove down the street and was sitting there for a while!

Needed the thermostat replaced during a heat wave.  A courteous repairman arrived replaced the thermostat in one hour. But i was charged $600 plus installation of $89. Found out this very same thermostat retails for $245.  I was gouged and called the office with no resolution or return call. Do not call this company.

A surprising and disappointing exchange with this company happened today.  One of their huge work trucks was parked in our neighborhood (positioned on the wrong side of the street against traffic). They were working on our neighbors air-conditioning system, however, they chose to park the big truck in front of the home next to the house that they were actually doing the work.  We have a very tight parking situation in our neighborhood and their actions created a difficult parking situation for the neighbor.

We asked them to relocate their truck to the space located in front of the home which they were working (which was open/available).  Surprisingly, the workers refused to do so. They continued to park their truck for several hours even though they were repeatedly asked to relocated in front of the home in which they were working (again, the area was open and available).

We found them to be not friendly, neighborly, or professional.   I would certainly think twice before calling this company to work in my home.

I just moved to Venice and hired Cool Plumbing to service my air conditioner based on the reviews I read on Yelp. I was very happy with the service. Jeff took care of my unit   He was on time, professional, and very knowledgeable. It turns out that my filter is a little tricky to install and he took time to make sure that I would understand how to change it when I need to do that. Cool Plumbing will be the company I call for all my future heating and cooling needs.

The toilet tank in my master bath was leaking, so in early February I searched the Internet for a plumber. Cool/Plumbing/Energy Today of Sarasota, FL had good reviews both on HomeAdvisor.com and Yelp.com. The service call - $59 - would be waived if I had the work done. A Cool Today technician came and told told me that the toilet tank parts  were worn out and rusted and needed replacing. The toilet tank in the guest bath was also in poor condition, so I decided to have the parts in both tanks replaced at the same time. That's when the technician gave me the 'hard sell'. He offered two options: 1. Install new toilets at a cost of $1,200 (?) or 2. 'Major rebuild' (his words) of the two toilet tanks at a cost of $656. But the hard sell was not over: He also tried to sell me a plan for $159 a year for plumbing maintenance. If I signed up for the annual plan, I would receive a 20% discount on the repair. I did not need new toilets and did not want to buy a plan. I opted for the parts replacement only. He spent 1 hour and 15 minutes. The technician was very professional but I felt that I had been overcharged ($656). The following day I called three plumbers: They quoted a rate between $100 and $150 an HOUR plus parts. I determined that, if I had hired one of those three plumbers, the job would have cost me $250-$300 AT THE MOST! A few days later I called Cool Today and spoke with a Customer Service manager. I told him that the cost of such a routine (not 'major') repair was outrageous, so he offered to reduce the total price a bit. I will never again use Cool/Plumbing/Energy Today for my plumbing or other needs. CONSUMERS BEWARE.

Would stay away from.  Called because our A/C wasn't working properly.  They came out and were here for 15 minutes and we were charged $291.00.  My fiancé was home to meet the service guy.  When I saw the bill I called to see what the charge breakdown was. They told me that they don't charge by the hour but charge by the service performed. The breakdown was. $89 for a service charge and $202 for the dual capacitor they replaced. I looked up the capacitor and it sells generally around $25. I called back and was told if you have a service agreement you get charged less for parts.  Asked to speak to the owner and was told he wouldn't call on something like this.  I guess too small a matter.

We have used Cool Plumbing Today twice.  The master plumber was knowledgeable and responsive but the crew that did the work either cancelled or were late for the appointments several times.  It was always difficult to discuss the job with the plumbers and to reschedule as the work is dispatched from the home office in Sarasota.  The first job was fairly complicated and they did good work once they got to it so we decided to use them again. The second job involved rerouting a lavatory drain to connect it to the existing sewer line.  When they cut into the cast iron sewer line, they broke off a piece of the pipe and it fell into the line and got stuck.  They had to come back a week later (when the toilet backed up) to retrieve the hunk of broken pipe.  To do so, they had to dig up the line under a slab and buried in the yard.  When the inspector came (4 months later!), he failed the job because they had not properly vented the lavatory drain line and had covered the ditch before being inspected.  They challenged the inspector's findings and corrective actions as being unnecessary but after a few phone calls to the inspector, reluctantly corrected the vent error and dug up the line again so that it could all be reinspected.  Eventually, it all passed but  ended up causing me and the inspector a lot of aggravation and it cost their company money to correct their errors.  Won't use this company again.

I scheduled to have the a/c unit looked at my business and was told a tech would be out between 6p-11p. I got a text saying the tech Paul Hoang was on the way along with tracking information. I was checking the tracker periodically and eventually saw that the tech arrived at my location at about 6:41p. I go outside, no tech was out there. I then called the office at about 6:47p and explained the situation and was told the tech attempted to contact me. I have attached my call log to show that, that was not the truth. I was then told that the tech would contact me shortly. I waited about 20 minutes and called back to follow up at about 7:13p. I was told that the tech tried calling me 3 times. Again, my call log shows differently. This behavior is completely unprofessional, and time wasting. I will be going with another service provider and will update this review with a better recommendation. Just terrible business. The doors to my business are open, the tech could of knocked or walked in if he was on site and had trouble reaching me.

So I called them when I had a plumber cancel on a tub valve replacement
They could not give me any idea how much it would cost. They could come out that same day so when the team showed up it looked it up on his computer and said $600 plus... I already had the valve. He said if they provided the valve it was over $1200
I was in shock and sent them away. The next morning another company came by $225 and about an hour and half it was done.
I was not comfortable that they wouldn't give me a rough estimate before arrival.

On Monday evening February 20, 2023 in the Del Webb subdivision my neighbors air conditioning needed service. Cool today parks in front of my home and the fire hydrant to walk across my yard to service my neighbors air conditioner! When I told the young man that he needed to move the Cool today vehicle he didn't understand why? Maybe he was trained to disrespect other people's homes and my neighbor is more important than I. Well it turned out that I must have pushed this young man's buttons, because when I went out of my house this morning Tuesday February 21,2023 the nice young man left my neighbors garbage under my kitchen window! Thank you for letting me know what your company is all about. I'll be sure to tell my other neighbors and family about the attitude of the workers of Cool today. I would give them less then one star if I could. They came out to my home in Sarasota in July and installed a NEST but did not connect it to my heating system - which, because this is a second home I did not notice until I needed heat. I took out an extended warranty and maintenance plan only to find out that that means NOTHING to this company. I called because I am freezing and they tell me that they can't come out to me until two days from now! They took my money but they CAN'T BACK UP THEIR SHODDY SERVICE.

Pete came to our home upon our request as we were interested in duct cleaning.  Pete went into our attic and took photos of what he saw and also looked at all our vents (intake and outflow).  We had a service contract with another company prior to Pete's visit.  Let me just say, that after what Pete found and showed me photos of, that company is no longer our service maintenance contractor.  The issues found were too many and overwhelming for here.  During the discussion between Pete and me, I made the decision to have Cool Today perform replacement of many ducts as well as well needed maintenance on other cooling issues.

When it came time for the maintenance (July 10, 2018), the three technicians (Jake, Wayne and John) arrived.  These young men were very cordial and polite.  In addition, Pete arrived to make sure things were getting off on the right foot.  I must say, this is the first time I've ever had a representative who sold me any service to come to my home again.  Usually, I never see them again.

Jake, Wayne and John each were dressed very well in their Cool Today gear and very clean.  For this type work I was surprise, pleasantly.  They introduced themselves and Jared and Pete reviewed what they were going to do.

Jake, Wayne and John worked for 10+ hours in the heat and humidity and finished the job excellently.  I told them when they were finishing up to not worry about cleaning up and debris left behind, that they had worked hard enough and I could clean up.  Within a few minutes, Wayne came into the house with his vacuum.  He told me, We made the mess, so we clean it up!

It has been a long time since I've seen young men work this diligently and hard.  These young men had nothing but positive remarks about the company and their jobs.  I recommend if you have any heating and air conditioning issues that you call Cool Today.

That's was not cool at all! My air conditioner stopped so I call and ask someone come to take care about and asked how much will cost subscription to service so I paid $189 for care. At evening technician came checked and replaced small Capacitor which caused issue, it was old enough to start the engine. Sound like a good service but I was shocked when technician charged additional $240 fee for $20 capacitor! That's I think is ridiculous, I work as a NAVY electrical engineer and know pricing, and I think it is awfully wrong. So, for $20 about part my expenses was near $400.
I can't recommend this company to anyone who wants a service.

I had my A/C go out. It was unfortunately on a holiday. I called three times over the span of an hour and a half. Not once did I receive a call back. I had this company not only install my system years ago, but they came out and fixed my air handler 6 months ago. I have a child who can't regulate his body temperature so this is very important. I will never use them again. 24 hour service is 24 hour service.

UPDATE: it's now been four weeks and I continue to call in with no help whatsoever.  The customer service attendant was told if Tony calls, send him to Justin, to which I responded, why didn't Justin call me back all along?

I was forwarded to who was said to be a senior manager, Charles.  I've spoken to him twice this week after still not receiving any update or help.

This level of customer service is shocking...regardless of the initial work, if there is no follow-through to finish a job, I cannot and would not recommend.

Great Follow Up but stay on top and be ready to do your own Quality Inspection.  I had my 2 units, full inside and outside replaced in March of 2017.  The Previous owner pulled one over by charging A/C units prior to inspection but they knew they were leaking.  (Dishonesty from Sellers - I recommend always pay the extra to have an A/C person do a leak inspection, general inspectors cannot get it done.)

This is not unique to them, the sales people are great and diligent people, the installers are kids or younger learners.  Get everything they will do in writing and hold them to it and inspect their work or have someone else do it before you pay.  Its more but well worth it.

Eventually they made it all right and even replaced the entire unit so that is why I feel they earned 4 stars.

I am thankful for the service to my office air conditioner.  The serviceman Dan found and fixed the problem pronto.  My units are two years old and are still in warranty.   My only complaint is that for a job that took Dan about an hour total,  I was charged a total of $439 labor  with the service call and that was after my 10% discount because I have a service contract.   That to me is excessive.   I was told that is the standard rate for that repair.  Then the rate is too high!  He was a skilled tech not a heart surgeon.

This is for ENERGY TODAY.  I had a breaker that kept triggering during thanksgiving week and after multiple phone calls with the closest available appointments being 1+ weeks away, energy today was able to arrive two days later.  Darren Ali showed up and was the most professional, friendly, and intelligent electricians... After an initial assessment of the most rational and likely cause of simple bad breaker needing replacement, unfortunately, the breaker showed to be not the culprit.  A follow up consultation was needed for a potentially 3+ hour return which required testing every single outlet and switch associated with the breaker.  Darren showed up for the next visit after again, a courtesy call, announcing his arrival 10+ min prior , Greg was able to find the problem after about 10 min into his investigation and was honest enough to charge a FRACTION of what was originally going to be needed for the potential of examining every piece of electrical related mechanisms, as mentioned.  THIS is a true test of a repairman's honesty.. the kind that shows up on cable or news shows with hidden cameras that test the integrity of local home repair services.  Suffice to say I gave Darren a nice tip and let his superiors know his personal integrity and the satisfaction of my experience with their company.  You need to use Energy Today if you want the same experience.  Thanks Darren!

I have them for Plumbing, Electric, Air Conditioning and Landscape Lighting.  It is extremely nice to have one company that you can count o for all of this.  My home is older, so I routinely have issues and they never fail to take care of me.  We are always a priority.  Any company can call themselves the best, but you really find out what they are made of when you need emergency service or you ask for a warranty to be honored.  They are 100% on this for me and that's why I consider them the best in the business.

My family has used Cool Energy's services twice this year. Once for a toilet that wouldn't flush, and the second time to replace 3 faucets.

1) The technician arrived around 3:45, at the tail-end of the window we were given. Nothing unusual about that. The technician evaluated the toilet and also asked to see the additional upstairs toilet and our water softener. He said the toilets (plural, as in including the one that was not clogged) were designed poorly and would always be weak, and that our water softener was broken. What was meant to be a quick unclogging job turned into a 2-toilet-replacement and the installation of a new water softener over 2 days, both days the technician arrived late afternoon and stayed well past 8 PM. The new toilets were installed without being shown to us for approval (luckily they match). I believe we were fleeced on the water softener and that it was upcharged quite a bit.

2) We figured we just had a real sales-y technician and called Cool Energy again some months later, this time to replace 3 faucets and evaluate a leak in our kitchen disposal and to see why our brand-new water softener was completely empty. Cool Energy would not give us a time frame for the technician's arrival, despite us repeatedly saying it was a big job. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. The technician arrived at 5PM. The mystery of the water softener was solved. He cut one of the old faucets apart before realizing the new faucets would not fit, leaving us without a functioning sink. He fiddled with the disposal and make the leak exponentially worse, then said the sink was too deep to have a disposal unit even though we've had this disposal for over a decade with no problems. He tried to tell us our water heater had problems too. We sent him away a little after 8:30 PM, this time with a stronger disposal leak and one less functioning faucet. We will be using another service to repair the damage and install new faucets.

The technicians are clearly told to sell, sell, sell; and not giving the customer a time frame for the technician's arrival is INSANE. We even clarified with our technician that yes, this is their common and standard practice.

Will not be using their services again. Stay far away.

We had a free appraiser come Friday 10/05/2018 for a shower demo with plumbing repair.  Ultimately we were looking for someone complete the entire project from demolition to putting in the hardy board and tiling.  In essence redoing our shower from start to finish.
The total estimate Adam provided was for far more than I would have liked considering he was only going to demo part of the shower (he said because the one wall was an exterior wall that didn't need demolition) he would put in furring strips for the tiler to put the hardy board up.  This did not reduce the price at all.  Adam being the fast talker he is we agreed.
The team came on Monday 10/8 and was to complete the morning of 10/9 as Adam had said during the estimate.  Because this took place on weekdays, my husband and I had to work.  We had my brother stay to keep the dogs out of the way as well as keep us informed of the progress.  Tuesday 10/9/2018.    I contacted my brother to see how things were progressing.  He told me the shower stall had at one time had termites but there were none active some damage to the studs was all.  Due to the damage I was told by Adam, we would need to have the studs replaced.  Of course we did (who wouldn't)?  Adam said they needed $1100.00 more dollars to replace the studs affected for a total of 6 or 7 2x4s.  I was very upset with this.  I told him we could replace the studs for less than $100.00.  Adam said he would pull the team if we didn't pay, that we could get another contractor to install the studs.  He said we would need to get a new permit and that would delay the progress.  I told him to continue but I was not happy with the price gouging.  He had us there wasn't anything we could do.  After I explained this to my husband he too called Adam to tell him this was far too much for the additional work.  Adam told him he would just take his workers and leave.  We couldn't have that happen as we had paid for the original job then we would have been out that as well.  Adam had also said he had to pay the team overtime because they would have to stay late and come back the next day.  As above he planned a day and a half.  The work the team left behind was subpar to say the least.  My brother said the team goofed off much of the time, that even with the new studs they could have been done in one day for the little amount of work they did.
Because of that the tiler is costing us much more than need be.  We are normally do it your selfers', but this had been a bad year for our health so we were in need of this service.  I was having lumbar spine surgery 10/22 and my husband had just had open heart surgery about a year ago.  All together we spent over $3800.00 for a shower demo and plumbing to feed the shower.  If you were to consider a 12 hour job (remember it could have been done in less than 8)  This is an extreme amount to demo one wall, run new pipe through the ceiling about 3 feet and replace 7 studs.

Very Disgruntled,
Pam & Steve

Do not get their service plan. It is a huge scam. They claim it comes with all of these features like a freon charge. But then when you need it they tell you that your unit doesn't qualify and charge you an extra $400! Buyer beware. I contacted them to resolve the matter and they were  extremely rude to me even though I never raised my voice. Do not use this company. Go elsewhere. We had been a loyal client for years, and they must have changed management. They did not care about resolving the issue or making us happy at all! I am filing a report with the BBB as well.

Their plumbing department is a joke. Had a clog, they clear the clog. Their snake slid down my main drain. after they left I made a rig to pull it out of the pipe...   now I understand things happen and this was not even what I was annoyed with.  but then they had a new guy camera down the line and discovered there was roots in there. I wanted them to Jet that line that led to the sewer. They refused to just do that line only. Saying they have to do your whole house or they're not going to do the job.  Even after explaining to them that from my clean out to the sewer is my associations problem not mine I just need a price for that.  I have never in my life had a company try to hold me hostage or try to extort money by getting the whole job or nothing.  Not to mention when they camera the house there was very little in the way of sludge in the lines.  This is the second time they sent their clowns here.  First time to install the hot water heater they put the drain valve sticking out so I couldn't close the door. They told me I would not be able to close the door all the way...  I made them turn it slightly to the left so it would fit... but they gave me a hard time saying well it's going to take another few hours to correct that. Sooooo...do it Right the 1st time Had them install a new AC system with no problem.. But their plumbing department Un-Cool Today... never again going to use this company.

I have been out of the country for 3 weeks, and prior to leaving, still never received an e-mail from Customer Service, as they had promised. Upon my return, they did leave a voicemail on my cell phone indicating that they were going to refund the labor portion of my service call. Okay, I'll accept that! -- I only wanted the refund because their technician (in my opinion) did not choose the best diagnosis and fix for my situation. Another AC company came out and got me running at NO CHARGE! A month later, all appears well. Thank you Cool Today, for the refund. I still believe this is probably a competent and efficient AC company, but in my case, they didn't get it right, and another company was needed to get my AC running again.

I guess they are to big to care anymore.  Charge me 89 dollars and did nothing. AC still not working.  what a joke, had problems in past with  them but figured I would give them another chance.

We contracted with Cool Today for ongoing maintenance for our A/C unit, and they did not honor their contract. After a technician provided a unit check two months ago, a critical safety component was missed, resulting in major damage to our unit. When a repairman came, he immediately noticed that a sensor switch had been wired incorrectly, and that this was the cause of the problem. However, the company refused to take any responsibility by covering the materials damaged (we were willing to pay for labor) and was unresponsive to multiple phone calls to attempt to rectify the problem. Do NOT use this company.

I called  Cool Today to have a plumber come out to install 2 kitchen faucets and 2 disposals which I already had purchased as replacements for ones in the two sinks in my kitchen.  Just a one to one replacement - no parts except he may need a bit of plumbers putty to seal the sink drain and maybe one or two short pieces of PVC if necessary since the new disposals were a bit different in size than the ones to be replaced.

The plumber who arrived in a Plumbing Today truck estimated 3 hours at the most that he would need for the job. Plumbing Today is a division of Cool Today.

He then went out to his truck to estimate the charge for the work, and came back with a charge of a bit under  $1,100 !!!!!

I was amazed and asked how much he charged an hour since that was more than $350 per hour, and he said that he didn't work on an hourly basis, but rather his charges were based upon each item to be installed, one charge for each faucet and one charge for each disposal. He stated that he was already giving me a 10% discount on the usual charges because everything was ready to be installed.

I informed him that his charges were exorbitant for this area of Florida, and so he went back to his truck to call the office and speak to my boss. He then came back with a reduced price a bit under $600. I told him that the going pumber rate here was about $100 per hour, and that $300 was all I would pay for a 3 hour job. He refused to work on an hourly basis and so I told him to leave. He then charged me $49 for the estimate only, which I paid by check, and he left with the check.

What a ripoff.   Beware of using this company.

Great team. Efficient and friendly. Then - the company stops out of the blue and drops of a package of great things. The man who stopped by was infectiously happy! Made my day!

Provider asked for a price when contracted and was told to wait until tech arrives. Tech arrived and quoted a pie in the sky number and charged $59 just to show up adding insult to injury.
